Negative experience: Used to be my goto vet, but after my most recent experience here I won't be back. My 16 year old cat became paralyzed due to kidney and heart issues, so I decided it was his time to put him down. Prices seemed go have climbed significantly. They also try and upsell non stop. After signing the papers, I was again made to feel bad because I did not wish to watch the injection, so I just paid and left.

Fantastic experience: Took care of our old pup under bad circumstances. Showed efficiency, compassion and capability.

Fantastic experience: Amazing staff. Thats what really stood out for me. Very caring and very knowledgeable. Pricing is great and actually affordable. 10/10 and I strongly recommend them to every pet owner.

Negative experience: Long holds. Dad was a great vet. Son took over. Not as functional.

Fantastic experience: It's a good place with kind people. My dog had a surgery there and the stuff gave him a kind welcome. Doctors and nurses were so nice, keeping an eye on him. Prices are also better than other places.

Fantastic experience: They’re great with our kittens, Anakin and Salem. They even have a little board with all their appointments for the day listed. They just go the extra mile. Recommended!

Fantastic experience: Thank-you Bruce street for squeezing our Charlie baby in who is prone to blockages ...my wife called several clinics and none where able to see him this helped ease our worried hearts since Charlie is a valuable member of our family especially for his two humans at home with special needs .he is more then a cat but a therapy one he brings so much love and joy your care was fabulous and quick for answers we are so thankful

Fantastic experience: This is long over due. I sadly had to bring my little man in to get euthanized because of cancer. They were so compassionate and caring througg the entire process from diagnosis to the last visit. They called to check up on him while we held of the enviable and were genuinely concerned. When the day came they gave us all the time and space we needed. Thank you for keeping tucker comfortable in his final moments so we could show him our love

Fantastic experience: Absolutely stellar. I had just moved to Ontario a couple days before, and my dog got a tick. Even though I was a new client, they were able to see me within a couple hours for a reasonable price. Dr. AJ was kind and professional. He quickly removed the tick, checked my dog's health, and got us started on the appropriate prevention medication for Ontario. All the other staff I met were also friendly, helpful, and efficient. I highly recommend Bruce Street Animal Hospital!

Negative experience: I'd like to first off say harlequin needlessly suffered today while vet stood by n said it was OK...painfree euthanasia..A LIE ! DIGNIFIED DYING DEMANDED EVEN ON LONG WEEKEND ! diabolical place....steer clear !! Rip harlequin !!!

Negative experience: Was amazing when the last vet owned (Dr. Sandeep*) Since being sold, i don't feel the quality of care is there...I brought my puppy in for a check and felt completely dismissed.

Fantastic experience: Bruce Street is not my regular clinic, but when I needed to come in urgently on a Saturday for my pup Derby they were able to accommodate. They took great care of Derby and we're thoughtful enough to follow up on his well-being a couple days later. Thank you friends, I greatly appreciate your time and care and so does Derby who is feeling much better now!

Fantastic experience: Everyone is kind and they are so caring about my puppy. Highly recommend. An independent that does not over charge.

Negative experience: Today my elderly mother had to put down her 16 year old dog. Everything seemed like it was going well. She was quoted a price three days earlier and it was going to take everything she had on old age security pention, but it had to be done. After signing the papers and saying our good-byes to our loving dog. They came back in a doubled the price, saying "it had to do with her weight" not only did it break my mother's heart, being already torn up loosing her best friend, but now she had to scramble to make up the difference in price. Not only was this extremely unprofessional, but it was taking advantage of an old woman struggle to live as is. They wouldn't even take half the payment today, and the other half when she'd get her next payment. In my hearts of hearts I believe it was a money grab and this man sould pray to his God, before he thinks about doing it to someone else.

Fantastic experience: I am deeply grateful for the kind, compassionate service I received from Bruce Street Hospital. The empathic and caring nature of the team working there made saying goodbye to my sweet girl bearable. The attention they give to the animals in their care is respectful, and they are patient with their grieving customers. Small personal details like having the invoice taken care of prior to going through a difficult process makes a big difference, and I really appreciated that. Thank you again for your kind service!

Negative experience: I've had two cats treated there. One suddenly had a swollen paw. They did blood work and told me nothing was wrong. 2 weeks later he died from aggressive cancer. We thought it was a fluke so tried them again. Our boy was suffering with ongoing blockages. They kept throwing meds at him, insisted he was bleeding from his butt from stress, meanwhile he was dealing with an ongoing urinary blockage. She is so inexperienced she thought my cat chewed off his penis. Thankfully, we got him the proper care and after surgery, he's fine. And I find it worrisome that her assistant seems to be providing "care" that a vet would provide without the same training. I've used a number of vets in the region and Bruce St is by far the worst.

Fantastic experience: These folks are AMAZING! Brought our new pups in for their first appointments (shots, etc.). They were nothing short of exceptional! So kind, personable, knowledgeable and patient. One of the best experiences we've ever had with a Vet! Thanks all!!! Fantastic experience: We had a very positive experience at Bruce St Animal Hospital on Tuesday when we took our dog, Benji, there following a minor car accident. We thank Dr. AJ and Kayla, the Vet Technician, tremendously for the exceptional care they provided to Benji. Dr. AJ was very thorough in his exam and did his best to make Benji comfortable. Kayla went above and beyond by responding to our need for help in a very kind and compassionate way. The hospital is reasonably priced. Dr. AJ provided us with clear explanations and instructions and we are more than happy to recommend Bruce St Animal Hospital to anyone who has pets.

Negative experience: ***Edited**** Friendly staff. Nothing is pushed on you as an " extra". Accommodating appointments. I felt that it was time to update my rating. Everything we used to love changed into a whole new business: UTI that requires an antibiotic. Vet/ vet ass't: " We should really do blood work and xrays". Me: " Let's see how the antibiotics work first." For everything. Took our dog in because she was making sounds like she was trying to catch her breath. They said she had a cold. Sold us pills. She died the next night. She had CHF. When I described the basic breathing thing to a friend who used to work for a vet, right away she said " that's CHF" That's just my take.

Fantastic experience: Friendly, responsive and knowledgeable staff. Vet is engaging and compassionate. Parking lot is very small and difficult to navigate a pick up truck if a few spots are already taken.

Positive experience: I dropped off my dog on scheduled day for neutering. I was then contacted hours later to pick up due to problems with equipment used during surgery? No clear explanation as to what's the problem? Waited 2 weeks till contacted about another time. No communication in-between. Then after neutering it turned out the cone was too loose on neck and dog simply pulled it off. Next day cone was cracked and destroyed! They told me every cone available is junk. So upset that I'm going elsewhere. No compensation offered for my wasted time. You get what you pay for.

Fantastic experience: Our bullterrier rescue has been going here for almost 9 years (ever since he was a puppy) The previous owner was amazing and now vet AJ is wonderful too. We just got a second bullterrier and Winnie has had all her vaccines and just got spayed too. (Although she barks and cries when we go everyone is super sweet to her) All the vet techs/helpers are super too plus it’s very reasonably priced.

Fantastic experience: The best VET out there, the whole staff is very knowledgeable and polite, my dog needed to go through an emergency surgery and they were very accommodating, from now on i will bring my dogs here, even though they are over an hour away but it’s worth it.

Fantastic experience: Amazing. I’ve been bringing my dogs here for years knowing that they’re handled with care lets me rest easy when I know that they are having to undergo surgeries. The staff is always so nice and they always help when I have questions wouldn’t pick another place.

Negative experience: My partner brought out dog here, she stated what was wrong the Vet, fought and argued with her that the dog was fine, we paid over 1100$ for tests(x rays, ultrasound) they never did blood work or checked what we asked them to, they then sent us home saying he was fine and as the result our dog woke up not being able to use his back legs or go to the bathroom we were referred to the Guelph University Vet where our sweet dog was then euthanized. DO NOT BRING ANY ANIMALS TO BRUCE STREET

Fantastic experience: Very kind and caring of both animal and owner needs. The staff is excellent. Cost is always a consideration and they handle it very well by providing an itemized list of potential treatments with the associated cost and will talk to through each item to determine what should be done vs what needs to be done. Very highly recommended!

Fantastic experience: I love these folks. So good. My dog is a typical dog who’s not a fan of the vet. These guys are so good. We make jokes when they need the big leather gloves for my 11 lb dog. They’re always helpful. Absolutely recommend them.

They lets us take our own look at the results from the ear cytology, the prices are AMAZING. I will be coming back here. everyone in the back looked friendly too. the doctor proscribed was was necessary ONLY with a supplement to help for our pets well being in the future. I’m very impressed with this hospital been to another previously and wasn’t the most thrilled i’m happy to know that i’ve found somewhere i can trust with my pets health.

Negative experience: If i could give them 0 stars i would. As a pet parent i urge you to avoid this place AT ALL COST. Not only are they not knowledgeable ( a lot of guessing and try this, try that $$$$ ), all they care about is money. More then once i have been double charged a vet visit for the same issue. They have purposely “ forgotten “ to administer a vaccine in order for us to have to come back and again pay another vet visit even though this was their own fault. During my appointment last week the vet actually left to go home before answering our questions about a serious matter ( heart murmur ) we paid a vet visit to have the receptionist have to attempt to answer our questions. ( ultimately failed to answer them ) Then come today - also an ongoing issue - we fear about a blockage my puppy ate a sock a few weeks ago and we were told not to worry unless he shows sign of distress and today he started vomiting has diarrhea, not wanting to eat, even his treats and he is sleeping more then usual. This is an emergency and they said they are unable to see him today and we can come tomorrow .. clearly they do not care about your animals because if it is a blockage, time is of the essence and waiting over night could mean life or death. I will absolutely never return and i highly suggest you don’t either.

Negative experience: I brought my dog couple of times here with a rash inside the ear and all the information I was provided after the exam is "Maybe it's an allergy or maybe something else, try changing the diet". Second time they actually provided some antibiotics but I again felt like this was just a guess by them. When we went to another vet clinic, they actually did a swab inside my dog ear and knew exactly that there was some bacteria and provided specific treatment. I felt like at Bruce Street vet hospital they want to sell you stuff like their dog foot or extraneous vitamins more than they actually want to find out what is wrong with your dog.

Positive experience: Reception was great. You can tell they are animal lovers. Waiting time too long .prices very reasonable.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Sandu is great and will spend time with you to make sure all options are known before any treatment. This is a no pressure place who has your pets best interests in mind for each visit. Highly recommended!!

Positive experience: Tonight we had to bring our cat in to be put to sleep . The staff was thoughtful , and kind . They allowed my son and I as much time as needed to say our goodbyes both before and after the procedure . The staff in the room with us, talked softly to our cat as the procedure was being done and petted her . Thank you

Negative experience: This place is absolutely terrible. I walked in to pick up my cats special dietary food. When I walked in, I wasn't even greeted by the receptionist. At the time the lady was talking to another person, but she could have atleast greeted me and let me know she would be with me in a minute. Instead, she finished with the person and then just walked into the back without saying a single word to me. I then waited for nearly 15 minutes for her to finally come back to the front with someone else's pet, which she checked them out before me... I was the only person in the place before she went to the back. She could have quickly checked me out as I was only picking up my cats food that I called in advance to have set aside. She then just sat there for almost 2 minutes without saying anything to me after she finished with the person before me. Talk about terrible customer service!! This wasn't the only terrible service I've had with this vet. A year ago my mother and I brought her cat in for a UTI which they only seemed to care about was stacking charge after charge onto the bill. Making us think that if we didn't get all these things done, we'd be terrible people for not getting the most expensive things done for him. We refused the expensive things and my mothers cat is completely fine a year later. They just care about MONEY MONEY MONEY!!! And then about 8 years ago, I got my cat fixed, when I went to pick him up, he was traumatized and completely covered in his own urine. I don't even know how long he would have been sitting in his own urine. I swore to never take my cats back to them and haven't since!!

Fantastic experience: This vet is my kitten and dogs family vet they are so nice and very helpful they’re clinic is nice and organized and I would love to tell family and friends about this clinic!

Positive experience: Edit: this Is the vet we choose to go to every time. They took the time to learn my dog and are working hard with us to get her health on track. I would recommend. Great place to take your pets, but a bit expensive. I often get second opinions for my dog and go between this place and one other.

Negative experience: My dog got kennel cough while getting vaccinated for kennel cough. They denied that my dog caught kennel cough from them. I don't find them to be professional or take safety precautions seriously. Feeding dogs treats without washing their hands, masks not covering their face, etc.

Negative experience: Took my dog there for the first time. Yearly exam and a vaccine. Felt super uncomfortable the whole time, didn't seem clean or organized at all, no one seems to care for a good first impression. The person who brought us into the exam room and asked questions seemed to only have training to push medications that are so unnecessary. Everytime I asked a question, the solution was another medicine. My dogs exam consisted of the vet looking at his canine tooth, touching his rib cage and then looking at his genitals because he had tumors there a year ago. Pushed that I can do chemo there again and they will order it?? My dog is in remission and there's no signs of the cancer returning. We visit and uncologist. She took the info on him doing chemo previously and ran with it. Really weird experience. Couldn't form a connection and now I have to spend money elsewhere for another exam because this one was BS.

Fantastic experience: The staff here are always very friendly and professional. We have taken both our dogs there since they were puppies. Dr. Sandhu is great and we will definitely recommend her to anyone in the Kitchener- Waterloo area

Negative experience: I used to recommend this vet to friends and family. I will not be going back to this vet all the seem to care about is making the bill higher and higher. I was told one thing on the phone from the secretary. When I got there and met the vet, "oh she doesn't know what she is talking about" Well if you hire your staff they are trained. Not to mention the vet said she would come back in a minute and she let us in the room for 30 mins because she FORGOT us. Extremely unprofessional and wouldn't answer the questions I was asking, she was beating around the bush and not being straight forward. GO ELSE WHERE. All the seem to care about it adding to your bill, not the actual pet.

Fantastic experience: This vet/hospital has been one of the best if not best I've had a pleasure of dealing with over the course of having cats, dogs and critters. Dr. Sandue takes sincere interest and often personal time to call after hours. She takes time to break down comparative results and ensure you understand. Providing affordable and affective treatments. The support staff both back of vet and front are also so kind. Taking an interest to hear milestones, concerns etc. Accommodating in special orders, re ordering and even bringing items to your car. Their prices are also quite comparable to those you can see within geared to income shops. This mixed with their break down of expenses where you can hear why it's been suggested what it would cost and then choose make it a stress free visit every time as we all know the bills can add up. I would recommend them for every reason and even as my pets health resolved or their diets no longer speciality we actually look forward to when we can visit for annual check ups because they take interest in your pet like it was their own.

Negative experience: The staff and Doctors here are great, one of the best in Waterloo region. I have dropped this to 2 stars as per our conversation earlier today. I made a couple of requests via their new contact the doctor page on their site and received no response for a while, I even requested a appointment online also when I received my rabies reminder. They only contacted me after Manitou Animal Hospital called to request her paperwork, I explained that I tried to get her in but thought they were just backed up. I like Bruce Street Hospital, but she came across as not giving two hoots whether my animals were patients or not, I guess now that business is booming my animals have become customers that are easily replaced. I guess our welcome is worn out here, thanks for the services but it's time to mosey along.

Positive experience: I could not believe the service of this clinic changed so fast during this year to be unfriendly and even not compassionate. It used to be very welcoming place we loved to visit but this year Dr.Sandhu have completely different team and some of girls behave very unprofessionally and not even friendly. I am a breeder and need the vet service pretty often, several times every month. I hardly can reach receptionists by phone as no-one is available even you stand on the parking lot and need to notify that you have arrived for an appointment. The only way to get an attention is to go to the front door and wait in the line with other people which is definitely is not the best for small kittens we have. One time in April I was there, it was very windy and cold. I asked the receptionists (girl) who was talking with other customer for a long time if she could take my under one month kitten inside because it is too cold for such a small creature. I got a cold answer that they are too busy, she continued talking and even did not say sorry for waiting, no compassion at all. Staff making many mistakes from small like mixing gender, weight in the health certificates to crucial like applying the not warm enough fluid to the kitten who's temperature is already low. The fluid should be 39 C not colder in this case, applying colder fluid may lead to the death if reached the critical point. That is what happened with one of my kitten in this clinic. Even I rate Dr.Sandhu's work very high (she is a very good doctor and surgeon) I am scared to go to this clinic now because I feel that her staff is not trained enough. Also they started to give poor prognosis just because I did not accept all recommended items. Should it be at least unknown in this case? Well, I went to another clinic, got a lot of hope and encouragement, kitten is absolutely recovered now despite of poor prognosis from Bruce St.Animal Hospital. About prices: prices for the appointment look very good however we found that for medication they tend to charge sometimes twice if compare with other clinics. Also they like to measure exactly all of prescribed medications, which means if my cat\kitten does not consume some doses (often happens!) I need to come in again and pay for the same medication again... Does it look fair? Just to compare I wrote my feedback an year ago : "Very friendly, understanding and knowledgeable stuff. Ready to accommodate your appointment if really needed. Affordable and competitive prices. Definitely recommend to friends." Now I cannot recommend this clinic to any one as does not feel comfortable to go there again.
