Negative experience: I have never had a worse experience with a vet before. I went to pick up my cat from the kennel and they didn’t zip up her carrier. she ended up running out of the bag into the middle of the road during a -15 degree snow storm. I tried catching her but due to the thick ice I kept slipping and falling. Kingsdale has the most irresponsible and incompetent staff I have ever had the displeasure of working with. Do not take your animal here unless you want them dead in the middle of the road.

Fantastic experience: Really good place to have your furry family members taken care of. Nice staff, super helpful, and they dont try and gouge you like other animal hospitals.

Negative experience: I wouldn’t say they aren’t a good Vet, they are good at their job! However the reason they get 1 star is due to the feeling of a corporate culture and not much of a personal connection/relationship between owner, doctor and pets. Nothing about my visits is warm and welcoming or inviting. Only reason I am with this vet is cause they are close by and have a boarding kennel. I will be looking for other veterinary clinics that I feel would be a more personal experience.

Fantastic experience: While I was in today I noticed their awards for “Top 3 Best Vets” in Kitchener from 2022-2025, & I would agree. When I was in recently, I felt like their patients were their top priority with high levels of empathy & compassion given from the staff during the tougher visits at the vet.

Negative experience: Brought my rabbit here during a medical crisis and sadly she died just as they took her into the room. They still proceeded to charge me for a full appointment as I bawled about my dead rabbit and shoved the debit machine in my face. In comparison, the vet I go to now, took my rabbit in for surgery did half the surgery and he passed and they didn’t even charge me a cent. Just be aware people ! Was absolutely heart breaking feeling zero compassion.

Fantastic experience: My only regret is that I hadn't heard about Kingsdale sooner. We were recommended to them by a friend during a very stressful situation when my dog broke a tooth. They did a fantastic job. The staff is incredibly kind, and their vets are truly professional. Best of all, they know the ins and outs of handling import and export papers, which is absolutely crucial for my traveling dog. We are so grateful to be part of the Kingsdale family now

Fantastic experience: I love the staff and Vets here. Cannot say enough about their dedication and caring. They are fair and easy to deal with. They truly love animals, thats obvious, but they are good with people too.

Fantastic experience: The techs and vets that I've dealt with are all knowledgeable and friendly. We board our cat when away on vacations and they always take great care of him, even with his diabetes. Awesome place, would definitely recommend.

Fantastic experience: We’ve been bringing our bunnies to Kingsdale Animal Hospital for their care, and recently our bunny Shaggy needed a toe amputation. The staff were accommodating, professional, and helped us feel supported through the whole process. We also board our bunnies here when we’re away, and it’s reassuring to know they’re in a hospital setting with a team we trust. Everyone we've interacted with has been kind and attentive, and we’re grateful to have a place like this for our bunnies' care.

Fantastic experience: Been going with my pup here since we got him, he loves going, and they always treat him very well. Recently, had to take him for teeth extraction, surgery went very well, he came out super happy, and the price was amazing, I had to pay way less than they quoted me, I was pleasantly surprised! Great staff, great environment, great veterinarian professionals and fair prices! Bring your furry baby here.

Negative experience: I boarded my cat here for 5 days in 2021. I know this review is outdated but this incident still keeps me up at night. First they wouldn’t show me where they keep the animals, I should have known that was a red flag. Then I go to pick her up and they hand me someone elses cat, which I then pointed out to staff who said “oops”. I finally got my cat back and took her home and to date she was the most traumatized I have ever seen her, she clung to me for the next 72 and all she did was sleep, she didn’t want to leave my side. It’s been 4 years since this happened and I have moved and I have used other boarders and still have not seen my cat so traumatized as she was when I picked her up from this place. I think someone needs to investigate whats going on behind the scenes here.

Fantastic experience: I cannot express enough gratitude to the incredible team at Kingsdale for the care and compassion they provided to our beloved dog, Harvey, especially in his final months. From the very beginning of his palliative journey, Dr. Montgomery and the entire staff went above and beyond to ensure we had all the information needed to make the best decisions for him. Dr. Montgomery was always thorough, clear, and patient in explaining all options, walking us through the pros and cons with empathy and honesty. Knowing we had such knowledgeable and compassionate support made an incredibly difficult time a little easier to bear. When the time came to say goodbye, the kindness and sensitivity shown by the staff were truly remarkable. They created a peaceful and comforting environment, treating Harvey with the dignity and love he deserved. Their support meant the world to our family, and we will always be grateful for the care they provided (and continue to provide for our other dog, Rocco!) If you’re looking for a clinic that provides not only excellent veterinary care but also unwavering compassion for both pets and their families, Kingsdale is, without a doubt, the best clinic I have ever encountered. Positive experience: My dog loves my vet visits here which is funny as the first two dogs hated going here. The staff is great. Prices aren't the cheapest in town for sure but the service is pretty good. MY BIGGEST CONCERNS these days have to do with how they've increased things like rabies shots.... we used to only have to get one or two the whole lifetime of the dog and now it's increased....in this region.

Fantastic experience: They took good care of my bunnies. They can't do emergency services for them, but they made sure they were healthy and were able to neuter my male whom I thought was already taken care of previously. Luckily we found out before we ended up with a bunch of extra bunnies ;)

Fantastic experience: They are a compassionate team who took good care of my senior cat when she was at the end of her life. They made us both feel comfortable and allowed me the time and space needed to say goodbye to my girl. Thank you.

Positive experience: The medical team here are fantastic. They took great care of our two kittens. They even allowed them to stay at the vets an extra night so we wouldn't have to bring them home and back the next day. They provided very thorough explanations of what was involved in the surgery and how to take care of the kittens after surgery. Although they really treated the kittens well, it is very obvious they seem to be focused on dogs. I would have given Kingsdale 4 1/2 stars, but that wasn't an option. The reception team professional but could be a little friendlier. Again, perhaps more dog focused. I highly recommend them.

Fantastic experience: I drove 2 hours to bring my Cane Corso Elvira to see Dr. Hinsperger for her eye surgery. From the consult, to the surgery day and months after the surgery, his support and proper communication has been outstanding. He truly does care about the animals and does what is best for them. He absolutely stands by his work and is completely worth the drive. Dr H and staff were very caring with my baby and I would highly recommend bringing your pets to Dr. H. Especially for the pocket method for cherry eye. Thanks Dr H and staff for being so accommodating!

Fantastic experience: I was very impressed with this clinic. I recently had to euthanize a beloved pet. They were able to see me right away and the veterinarian and vet techs handled the situation with a lot of grace and compassion.

Fantastic experience: We went to this vet after a horrible Experience at the urgent care for kidney stone removal on a Sunday ( not sure what they did to him but he was almost dead when we brought him to kingsdale by the following Friday. ( urgent said he needs 4 days and he would be fine.: he WASNT FINE!!!! Long story short when dr Jamie here saw him, she said his levels were through the roof and if we wanted to put him down she understood. My husband wasn’t having it… he said “ Jamie, just give him medicine please “.. she did and he is 2 years later healthy as can be. I’m writing this two years later because this vet saw McGee right away that Friday am and by Saturday he was back to his old self. We think he was starving because he couldn’t muster strength to eat from his bowls after urgent care and she fed him right away “ urgent food” which he lapped up! I just wanted to share how well our beloved boy is doing and to encourage everyone to come here because they CARE!!!! I hope to hell no one’s pet gets sick on a Sunday … you don’t want to end up “out there” and we all know where I mean!!! Kingsdale is even open Saturday which is amazing!!! Thank you Jamie and team!

Fantastic experience: We got to say goodbye to our beloved old boy in our home. The staff was empathetic, compassionate, and made a supportive environment in our own home. I would recommend home euthanasia if you can afford it. The admin staff are accessible to me. I need email copies of things for my disability and they are happy to send me info by email so I can remember it for later. I like being able to see the same vet and they humour me as I am a very proactive owner and like to be informed and involved in my dogs care. Some things are cheaper at the humane society but they understood why we got our cat the microchip there. They didn't shame me. That was nice. We have frenchies and the clinic has successfully anesthetized them and provided after care for brachiocephalic breeds. Thanks Kingsdale.

I can't thank Doctor Montgomery for getting me in so quickly to see Penny. She helped ease so much emotions and concerns, she was caring and kind when she spoke to me so it definitely helped keep me calm and comfortable. Thank you for all you do.

Fantastic experience: We brought both our dogs to Kingsdale and always received the best care. Things that don't go unnoticed but that set them apart from every other vet I've dealt with in the past is their compassion and their front line staff. The number of times I've called in, worried, crying, generally concerned and just looking for help - I always left that call with a plan, a solution or an appt. We were never alone in the care of our pets. Sadly both of our dogs have now passed but I'll never forget the staff at Kingsdale. ❤️ Gus & Walter's mom.

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend Kingsdale. My family members have been Dr. Hinsperger's for years (3 senior dogs currently aged 15, q7, and 17). I've been to several vets since adopting my cat in the Toronto, before I moved to KW and settled at Kingsdale. I can honestly say Kingsdale is the best by far. The staff are very friendly and great with my little girl who is both a nervous traveler and an anxious patient. Dr. Hinsperger genuinely cares about his patients and goes above and beyond to make sure our fur babies get the best of care and attention. He gives you all the options and relevant information so you can make the best and most informed decision about your fur baby's care and he is the only vet I've had who proactively follows up post-treatment to see how his patients are recovering. Truly everything you would ever want in a vet.

Fantastic experience: Kingsdale animal Hospital is the best place Marshall has got outmost care. The technicians and the doctors are knowledgeable and moreover so down to earth that they adhere to your pets needs genuinely. They would never suggest anything that is unnecessary. They treat your pet as their own and give the best care.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Brad is by far the most wonderful vet I have delt with in all my years of owning pets. You can see just by looking at him that he really loves his job, and cares for our pets, as does his team. He shares the options for things, recommends what he think what he feels would be the best option for the scenario, and respects parents choices whether they choose a different option or his. (We have always gone with his as it was always the best option) He gives off positive energy every visit, and truly shows that he does care about our animals as if they were his own. During the difficult times of saying good bye, to the times of joy when meeting a new furbaby, he shows sincerity every minute we or our animals have spent with him. Dr. Brad truly deserves the Best Veterinarian title in my opinion for all these reasons and more.! Gooooo Dr. Brad

Negative experience: Well you know at first I thought Brad was great they assessed my pup woofy , gave him ear medication.. bam done! healthy puppy again great job doc!!! now this time around unfortunately I made a visit the other day after his brother Willie was hit by a truck at 120 km an hour on the 401 after a day and a half of tracking him down I found him alive and to my disbelief intact definitely probably hurting on the inside for sure nonetheless I immediately brought him to Kingsdale and asked for their advice and help being as I've been utilizing there Clinic for my pups now I mentioned to them right away I didn't have any cash to pay up front and I understand that nothing is free no service whatsoever I just wanted a little advice maybe a little Direction until I had enough money to be able to get him fixed up if I needed to and immediately I was turned away because I didn't have $100 and I just wanted them to look at my little boy and tell me what I should do but I got the opposite so I went to the Kitchener Waterloo Humane Society where they actually do care about the animal and not about my wallet

Fantastic experience: Dr. Tara Montgomery and the team at Kingsdale are incredible. In regards to our cat's health, Dr. Montgomery explained everything in terms we could understand which gave us the opportunity to make informed choices. She was sensitive to our financial restraints and gave realistic expectations as to what we could do for our cat. Ivy was treated with tender love and care during each of her visits and ultimately, when the decision had to be made about euthanasia, we were given confidence that it was in her best interest. The entire experience couldn't have been more peaceful and Dr. Tara was considerate of her words in the presence of our 6 year old, who was adamant about being present to say goodbye to our beloved cat.

Fantastic experience: All of them here are wonderful. The Vet and the others were very sweet and understanding when I had to put my cat down.

Fantastic experience: A great team - every single person I've talked to, be it vet staff or admin staff, have been kind, caring, knowledgeable, and attentive. I'm convinced Dr. Brad saved the life of our rabbit Lennon a few months back, and he's been great with questions about our other pets as well. He's honest and forthcoming, and he genuinely seems to care personally about our pets. I recommend Kingsdale to anyone who asks me about a good vet in the area, definitely give them a shot.

Positive experience: I have been bringing my dog here for over 4 years. I called to request a medication for an ear infection that I have used once before. They made me schedule an appointment and pay an extra $136 for the appointment and ear swabs just to give me the exact medication that I requested.

Fantastic experience: I used Kingsdale this past week to board my guinea pig Fuggles for 8 days. They did an amazing job with him he was super happy, clean and well fed. I highly recommend and will be using them again!

Fantastic experience: I went to 2 different vets in the course of 3 months for my female rabbit before I found Kingsdale. My rabbit is having a mystery condition that no vet can explain. At the other vet (Preston Animal Clinic), they were quick to prescribe ointments (that she would lick off), sell me a cone (that did not fit and would cause undue stress to her when they rejigged it to stay on) and antibiotics, without any blood or urine test. We thought she may have syphilis although it didn't look like the common symptoms, but she had an inflamed genital area. At Kingsdale, I spoke to Dr. Tara Montgomery and she was so amazing! So patient in explaining the rationale behind any tests or treatments. Her passion truly shines through in every visit. She even consulted with a forum of other rabbit specialists for test/treatment suggestions and did lots of research for us. A urine sediment and blood test was done to rule out syphilis before moving on to treatment. My baby came back negative and other than her inflamed area, she's as healthy as can be! Such a mystery! As of right now, we have stopped trying to find a solution as my baby is active and healthy as possible. We just monitor the area and think that maybe she is just too rough on cleaning herself?! Haha maybe we will have answers one day but for now, no more vet visits. This clinic is very transparent in their fees and never once did I feel like I was being overcharged unlike Preston (they charged me a consult fee twice for back to back appts!). The staff at Kingsdale are always so friendly, knowledgable and helpful.

Fantastic experience: We have 3 terrier breed dogs and I LOVE how this veterinary clinic doesn't ever treat them any different than other breeds (we have experienced this at other offices sadly). The staff are warm, welcoming and very accommodating. Dr. Hinsperger is a special kind of person and he was born to be a veterinarian. His approach is honest and has the ability to speak in medical or in simple terms. We've had the pleasure dealing with most vets at this clinic. Just can't say enough good things.

Fantastic experience: We have been dealing with Kingsdale way back before it moved to its current location. We have only changed vets when we moved away from Kitchener. Once we moved back we immediately switched back. We have had experience with their boarding, surgery for our rat when they looked after small animals, and euthanizing our senior dog when she became too ill to continue. I now have my one eyed cat and my new Puppy being taken care of by Kingsdale. They are the best. Compassionate, caring and always giving good advise. They never try and upsell or push unnecessary products or procedures. My only wish is that they still cared for ferrets so they too can go to Kingsdale

Negative experience: If you place an order from the Vet Store and need to do a return, only can be done when there is a manager in the office to authorize, in other words not on weekends. Call ahead if you want to do a return to save yourself a trip.

Fantastic experience: Our cat McGee had to have emerg surgery at the ER on maple grove on a Sunday am, and by Thursday he wasn’t improving at all. Saturday morning Dr Jaimie did blood work and he was quite ill. No one expected him to last the weekend but Dr Jaimie gave him emergency food, water therapy and antibiotics and by Monday he was 99% better!!!! It’s about a month later and he is better than ever!! He is only 6 so we couldn’t even think about him dying .. his life was saved here!! Never ever give up.. your pet has fight and our McGee is living proof. Please bring your pet here… Dr Jaimie, vet tech Kim and Tammy .. so great! If your pet stops eating like McGee did after surgery, I highly recommend the urgent care AD food sold here. My cat devoured it thank goodness. The gals at the desk are super nice too… Kingsdale is a wonderful clinic!!! Thank you from the Kenny family and McGee.. (Small edit below) I’ve tried to post a photo of our McGee and wasn’t successful but he looks great… his fur is even shinier and softer now from the Hills brand and Royal canin we buy here now… it’s truly a life changing diet … it’s not cheap but WORTH IT!! I can’t stress enough how important your pets diet is. No more fancy feast for my boy ..

Fantastic experience: Just called about potential boarding for my kitty. A very nice lady by the name of Natalie provided me with all the details and info I asked about before I even comitted to drop my feline off. I cannot provide any details on the service of this place yet, but just judging by how new pet clients are treated I have a very good feeling. Will provide an update.

Negative experience: Really wish I could give 0 stars. They seem to put much more attentive care into dogs than the do other pets. Would be wise for their team to hire a dedicated receptionist.

Fantastic experience: My older dog has been suffering with bad allergies for a few years now. He saw a few different vets in Toronto when we were living there. Every vet always had something else to say and never seemed to care what other vets had said. When we moved here and my dog needed a vet bad I was very worried it was going to be the same idea as in the past. Someone recommended this vet to me so I took a chance. When I made the first appointment they were friendly and took my concerns very serious. They called the last vet I we had seen in Toronto and got files transferred. When I went into the appointment the vet had already read the file and was kind and patient in answering my questions. The whole experience was very positive and she listened to me and gave me what the dog needed. She never forced her opinions but made suggestions on what I should try. She gave me a lot of information and antibiotics and he is doing much better now. We took our puppy there as well and again very helpful and gentle with her as she got needles. Thank you for such a great experience and I will definitely recommend here to everyone I know.

Negative experience: I used them for boarding my dog recently, and was terribly disappointed. They do not let you pick up on Sundays so you have to pay extra in order to pick up Monday. They kennels were not very clean when I dropped my dog off and she didn't even have a bed in the kennel with her when she was put in. I had an event to get to out of town so I didn't have a lot of choice. Was told there would be no real interaction with other dogs but when I picked her up and she had clearly be wrestling with someone because she was filthy and the white part of her fur was stained brown. It still is in places despite being bathed. My dog has now developed some sort of eye infection that has never happened before that is going to cost me extra to get diagnosed and get meds for. I do not recommend AT ALL.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Hensberg is AMAZING and is always willing to call me to help me with my ongoing issue pet. I would of lost him by now if it wasn’t for him.

Negative experience: Really appreciate how you are willing to let a cat suffer for days until they can get in to be put down when it's convenient for you. Our cats have been patients of this place for almost two decades. Not sure what happened but things have changed "sorry, we are too busy you're animal is just gonna have to suffer for now."

Fantastic experience: I found their prices average compared to area clinics, but I highly recommend this vet clinic. The staff is amazing!! My cat became very lethargic one night and they squeezed me in very quickly when I called that morning even though I had never used their services before. They were very sympathetic when I had to make the difficult choice to euthanize. The owner was even more accommodating when I didn't know what I wanted to do with my baby's remains so they offered to hold him for a week. My funds were low as well because we just bought a house, but they offered to defer part of the bill and I came back 2 days later to pay the rest. I asked how much it would be to hold my baby longer because we didn't take possession of our new house until the 25th and I decided I wanted to bury him there. The technician said they would hold him until the end of the month, free of charge!! I was also very surprised when they handed me an envelope they were intending to mail out. I waited until I got back into my car and balled my eyes out as soon as I seen what it was. Thank you Kingsdale for being so comforting and accommodating when I truly needed it!

Fantastic experience: Kingsdale is an amazing veterinary clinic! The receptionists are helpful and pleasant to deal with. Also Dr. Hinsperger is wonderful, he's always made time to answer our questions and concerns with care. I'd recommend bringing your pet here for any help they may require.

Fantastic experience: A few weeks ago during a snow storm my cat became very ill, we weren't able to get to our regular vet and began calling around. Kingsdale was the only clinic we could reach and they made time for us. They were fantastic, they went above and beyond for my girl. Unfortunately, we did loose her and today we recieved a lovely card in the mail, with her paw print, and it was signed by the vet who cared for her. They have some of the nicest staff and best customer service of any vet clinic I have been to. I think we have a new regular vet ❤️

Negative experience: We have been a client for 23 years and when we needed them to see our very sick dog they were not available and told us to go to another vet so we did and pulled our dogs records from them

Fantastic experience: Every person at Kingsdale Animal Hospital is amazing. Dr. Hinsperger is always fantastic, answers all my questions, takes the time to go through every thing and what are the best options, and, of course my pup loves him. You can tell they work tirelessly and want nothing but the best care for their patients. Thank you to all who work there :)

Fantastic experience: I really appreciate the friendliness of the staff and the professionalism of the veterinarians. One of my dog doesn't like a lot of people but they handled him well with gentleness and efficiency. They did everything to ensure the wellbeing of our dogs.

Fantastic experience: I brought my dog into other veterinary offices and spent a couple grand on xrays, blood work and prescriptions trying to find out what was the issue. Took her to see the doctors at kingsdale, two appointments and they figured out that the others were treating her for the wrong thing and I was told by them to prepare to put her down....Dr Hinsberger said no way and now shes on the mend!!! THANK YOU SOOO MUCH GUYS!!!!

Fantastic experience: I love this vet! I have tried so many different vets and never felt like they cared. But here at Kingsdale they are compassionate and understanding of all your pets needs. They actually show they want to be there to help your animals. Dr. Montgomery is amazing! She is very thorough and explains everything to you in great detail. Highly recommended this vet to anyone looking for a great and loving place for your pets.

Negative experience: These losers will happily violate human rights to enforce a medical intervention that is proven ineffective. Great place to go if you value apartheid and medical incompetence!

Negative experience: Unfortunately, I had a very negative experience with their cat boarding which is what prompted me to write this review. Prior to the Labour Day weekend, I was scheduled to drop off my cat for boarding on Thursday evening. It was very easy to make the booking and I was appreciative they had space given the short notice. Over multiple phone calls, I repeatedly asked what would be the latest time I could arrive. I was told I had until 7 pm. I arrived just after 6 pm to discover the building was closed and no one on-site. Apparently, they reduced their hours for the long weekend. I am not opposed to this but Kingsdale took no steps to phone or email me about this change despite having been asked multiple times about their hours (original hours were still on their website and a board just beyond the entrance). At great expense and hassle, I had to find alternative arrangements within a few hours prior to my trip. Kingsdale never bothered to follow-up in the subsequent days about my missed drop-off appointment.

Fantastic experience: I have been using Kingsdale for six years. I have always felt good with the care my dog received. I will continue using their services.

She makes sure all our questions are answered, gives us new info with a lot of detail and education, is kind and caring and has been so helpful through our cat's cancer journey. We feel cared for and know our cat is getting the very best care available.

Fantastic experience: Our cats have been clients of Kingsdale for many years. They, and I, have always received exceptional care. The team has been there for us through normal times and medical emergencies and I cannot speak highly enough about them. They are transparent, calm and clear. Willing to take the time I need to discuss different treatment options or different tests that may give us more answers. The Kingsdale team always goes out of their way to ensure our sick animals are comfortable and supported. I've seen a few reviews stating that "they're in it for the money" or "they don't care" but the amount of hours the doctors and other staff have been on the phone with us and emailing us to discuss diagnosis, tests, and, unfortunately, loss cannot be motivated by money. They have gone out of their way to accommodate our animal's needs, squeezing us in to ensure our cats get the care they need. Everyone at Kingsdale deserves a medal. Especially for the amount of times they have had to listen to me cry on the phone.

Positive experience: Recently, I brought my kitten for three vaccines and a neutering, I had many questions and the staff was super helpful on explaining, providing feedback after appointments, and recommendations. Everyone was polite and professional. Big shout outs to the ladies answering the phones! very nice, helpful and a good sense of humor.
