Fantastic experience: I have been bringing my pets here for 30 years, both cats and dogs. I love the comfort of seeing familiar faces that have shown us care and compassion through all the needs of our pets in their various stages. The whole team has always treated both us and our pets with the utmost professionalism, understanding and respect, offering the best options without any feeling of pressure Highly recommend for a truly caring and patient focussed clinic.

Fantastic experience: Dr Peters took the time to do a thorough examination of our two dogs and was very informative as well. It is so nice to have a veterinarian that cares about his patients and takes the time to explain procedures and what can be expected. The clinic itself is clean and the front desk staff is friendly and also very helpful!

Negative experience: Ever since ownership changed and Dr. Greenberg left the business, this hospital has been a disaster. Most of their good reviews belong to the time that he was part of the business. I left them a couple of years ago and I have been very happy with the new clinic that has been looking after my fur babies.

Negative experience: Not good service in any way. They want the money and thats it. They dont care about what the pet owners want. They want more money they dont care about your animal.

Negative experience: I took my cat to Manitou Animal Hospital for a skin concern, her yearly vaccination, and a general check-up with Dr. Kristyne Smith. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. I felt that not enough time was spent examining my cat. She was weighed and taken for her vaccine by staff, but I expected a more thorough check-up from the doctor afterward. When Dr. Smith did come in, the visit was very brief, and the only recommendation I received was a dental visit. I later had my cat checked at another clinic, where I was told her overall health was fine and that the dental concern wasn’t urgent. Also, the skin treatment provided during this visit didn’t help, as her condition is still ongoing. I’ve been to other veterinary clinics where the routine exams were much more detailed, so this felt rushed in comparison. I left feeling unheard and unsatisfied with the level of care and communication. I hope the clinic can improve the amount of time spent with patients and their communication with pet owners in the future.

Fantastic experience: Any vet I’ve had at Manitou has been amazing, but my last few appointments have been with Doctor Andrea and I would highly recommend her and her office! She is warm, knowledgeable, and trustworthy! The whole staff is very patient with my cats and you can tell they’re huge animal lovers. I never feel like I’m being oversold products or services, I am often just going in for shots and a check up and heading out. When my cats have needed more support, they do a thorough job getting to the bottom of what they might need for that time being. Thanks Manitou for being so good to my boys!

Fantastic experience: Staff here are incredible. Super friendly. From the secretaries to the Vets.They are very patient with shy dogs. The parking lot is shared with many other businesses so it can be claustrophobic at times. And the rooms are on the small side. But beside those minor things this establishment was exceptional!

Fantastic experience: Whenever I speak with the veterinarian staff members, they never make the conversation feel rushed. They take their time to explain things to me.

Fantastic experience: I have taken my pets to Manitou Animal Hospital for over 20 years. I have always been happy with the care and treatment both my pets and I have received. My most recent adopted cat has an immune compromising disease, and I have been most impressed with the communication and support I have gotten as we have cared for the up and down health of this sweet boy. No hesitation to recommend them to anyone.

Negative experience: Very disappointed. They didn’t examine my cat properly and just wanted to do tests and an ultrasound. After the ultrasound, the doctor never came back — someone else showed up instead. It seemed like they cared more about money than about the animal’s health.

Fantastic experience: Our family has been using Manitou Animal Hospital for many years, and they have seen our guinea pigs, rabbit & dogs. Our pets, have enjoyed their visits, as the staff always make them feel welcomed and relaxed. Our recent puppy just had her vaccines & the doctor went out of her way to ensure our pup was relaxed and distracted for her vaccine so she wouldn't be scared at her next visit. Her exam was thorough and not rushed. The support staff is warm and knowledgeable.

Fantastic experience: We had a last minute appointment, as we needed to see a vet for our new kitten tommy, not only that they seen us last minute but the staff was absolutely amazing, they all spoke with myself and my 2 daughters like they met us before, we felt comfortable, I highly recommend anyone you won't be disappointed. Fantastic experience: We bring our fur baby here. The doctors (vets and nurses here treat them like they're own. The compassion they show for both fur baby and parent/parents is fully expressed in the care they show. We've been coming here for 20 years. And highly recommend them to anyone looking for a veterinarian who does a wonderful job because they love of animals. And want to see them live they're best life happy and healthy.

Fantastic experience: Technician reviewed the breeders notes very carefully and with the vet we were able to feel comfortable with the choices for vaccination for new puppy.

Fantastic experience: MAISIE had her first vet appointment with Dr Eva. She was awesome very gentle with MAISIE answered all our questions and provided information we did not think of. We are booked with her again for the next puppy shots. The techs that assisted her were very kind and gentle and provided further info. Their Puppy Start plan is very helpful on the budget. Would highly recommend The Manitou Animal Hospital.

Negative experience: First off, to be clear I am only giving them one star as I can't give them a zero. We've been clients of this establishment for over 15 years. At the onset it was top notch. Dr Peter and staff were not only very professional but compassionate about their patients. Sadly, the ownership has changed and so has the atmosphere. We had an experience today that finally made me realize that this clinic is for one thing and one thing only , MONEY. We had an appointment scheduled today of which we were going to be 5 - 10 minutes late due to construction on our street. We did what we thought was the right thing to do and call to let them know that we would be a few minutes late. We were put on hold so they could confirm with the doctor that this was okay. We were then told that we would have to reschedule as the doctor no longer had time for us I couldn't believe what I was hearing to he honest. The message that came through clearly to my husband and I was that, this veterinarian has clearly demonstrated that they have no concern for my pets well being. Not a vet we choose to stay with.

Fantastic experience: VERY IMPRESSED with the clinic! Dr. Peter and his staff went over an above to accommodate my cat Gracie whilst visiting out of town. Negative experience: Tried calling and automated voice response says "sorry we are closed" then proceeds to tell me the hours of which they are open. Says they are open Monday to Thursday until 7pm and it's now 4:40 pm

Fantastic experience: Great office, great staff. We were new patients and they were able to accommodate us very quickly for our cat who was experiencing an emergency. She was very skittish and scared but the doctor and tech were both able to handle her gently

Fantastic experience: They understood our problem with our rescue kittens, 2 males and one female they fast tracked looking after the males that are spraying all over the place and of course we did not want kittens. What a relief, no other vet service was interested on helping us with this dilemma .

Fantastic experience: We have been going to Manitou Animal Hospital for many years. All the staff are wonderful with our pets. From having yearly checkups, emergency phone calls, same day visits or just a question the staff are always willing to help. We've had to put our dog to sleep and the staff and vet were amazing. They let us stay and take our time when saying goodbye to our loved one. Very compassionate with our family in a very difficult time for us. I have nothing but good things to say about all the vets and staff. I would recommend them to anyone and I do!!

Fantastic experience: We have been taking our dogs to Manitou Animal Hospital for over 10 years. Dr. Kornic is a great vet and is very compassionate with our extremely anxious German shepherd. She explains everything thoroughly and gives great advice on caring for the dogs. The vet techs and front end administrative team are amazing and always go the extra mile when it comes to customer care. We feel that the prices are reasonable and on par with other vets in the area. I wouldn’t take my dog anywhere else!

Negative experience: My family brought one of our beloved cats to this hospital last year for respiratory issues and was prescribed medication for fluid surrounding her lungs. Today she was brought to another hospital for the same issue and upon the transfer of records, the new vet discovered that a mass had been found on her liver at the time of the initial visit to Manitou last year. This information was never passed along to my family. Today our cat, at 9 years old, had to be put down as the mass had progressed too far for her to survive. Animals cannot effectively communicate their ailments to us as human beings. All of us not involved in veterinary practice can do is rely on the findings and opinions of those who are educated and practiced in such matters. It is absolutely horrible to learn that vital health information pertaining to a pet that we loved so much was not at all communicated to the family. I am deeply disappointed in the service provided to my family and wish that no pet parent ever has to undergo the shock that we had today. Rest in peace sweet kitty 1:06pm February 3, 2025.

Fantastic experience: Appointment right on time. They are very good at setting appointments and pre ordering medications. My dog is handful and they do an amazing job. Last Vet gentleman during my dogs annual shots impressed me. 100 percent recommend this amazing clinic

Fantastic experience: The reception team is very lovely, however, my reason for the five-star review is the veterinarian herself. Dr. Eva is so fantastic with my girl, even though she seems to be a repeat offender. Realize her cues of when she is feeling uncomfortable and do things to address that, as well as her thoroughness throughout the treatment. I have seen five different vets in the city, not only has she been the only one that could assess my dog's paw issue with good results, she's also very knowledgeable, kind, and effective in treatment. Fantastic experience: New client at Manitou Animal Hospital. I really appreciate Dr. Eva's kind care and compassion as she listened to my concerns about my 5 month old tuxedo kitten Dash. She addressed his tummy issues with medication and prescription food and thoroughly examined his hind legs as he has difficulties with his knees popping out. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful during our visit. Highly recommend A++++

Fantastic experience: Recently switched to Manitou Animal Hospital. All the staff went above and beyond to care for my animal and make me feel comfortable. My dog required surgery and every single member of the team made the experience flawless. It is always nerve wracking for your pet to undergo surgery and I felt so confident that she would be well taken care of. Fantastic experience: I took my dog Leo to Manitou for his annual vaccination. He also got a head to tail exam, an analysis of his poop and good advice how to keep him healthy. All was done competently and patiently. Leo has no fear of stepping into Manitou and that says a lot.

Fantastic experience: The staff are always friendly, helpful and thoughtful. If there is a dog in the waiting room when I bring in my cat, they take us into an examination room immediately. The doctor takes her time and answers any questions you have and follows up if needed.

Peter and his vets and vet techs are the most knowledgeable, friendly, caring, and compassionate people I've had the pleasure to deal with. I couldn't and wouldn't deal with any other vets. Fantastic experience: We have been taking our animals to Manitou Animal Hospital for many, many years. Dr. Grinberg is an amazing vet with a special way with all animals. For most of our married life we had dogs but have had a cat for the last 10 years and again, he is wonderful with our cat. All staff at the hospital are very caring which is evidenced on every visit and particularly when our cat had surgery a year ago with follow-ups and very detailed good information when questions were asked. A wonderful animal hospital.

Fantastic experience: I'm not a vet person but I was convinced to go after I saw what may have been an accumulation of small issues with my cat. I came in for a normal checkup and they treated my cat as if it was their own! If I ever need a vet again, I'm definitely going back there. They listened to all my concerns and even went the extra mile when I asked for some more comprehensive things on my cat (which turned out to be just fine! She suffered from aging like we all do).

Fantastic experience: Everyone that works at Manitou Animal Hospital is amazing!!! Brought my cat here in the spring as he was experiencing a life threatening urinary obstruction. All of the vets, vet techs, front desk staff were very informative around what was going to happen and about his recovery. My cat had to stay at the vet for about 5 days and staff provided updates daily via phone. I could tell he was being well looked after. Even when discharged we had to bring him back in the vet a couple times and I was always given an appointment very quick. The cost for UO care can be very costly and the amount that Manitou charged was a flat rate which was extremely reasonable. Henry is now doing great health wise and I have everyone at Manitou to thank!!

Negative experience: Brought my cat there for flea treatment and shots. I specifically said she has fleas I need treatment. The vet then came and told us that she thinks she has fleas and we should have told her as she is allergic to fleas and unfortunately she will need treatment. Yes I know I did tell you she has fleas. I also requested flea treatment for her two 6 week old kittens and was told by their vet no such treatment for a kitten of that age exists. I told her on the phone I was told 6 weeks and she said no I will check but I know there is only 12 weeks. Came back to the room 10 min later saying oh what do you know it is 6 weeks. The shots were $153+ tax. I asked for topical cream for flea treatment for 1 adult and 2 kittens. The bill was over $400. Watch your bills and medications from here. The vet was clueless. Got an estimate on getting my female cat spayed. I was told via email it's about $130 plus tax. The estimate I was given was $1200 to spay her. I said wth you told me via email that it would be $130+ tax she said no hahaaha never never would we,say that. It's always $750 for the surgery plus,surgical fluids and medication. I said oh that's weird it's always $750?? She said yep and I said cause the paper you just gave me,printed out the surgery says $622 + tax. Any way called humane society they are doing it for $120.

Negative experience: My great dane was brought there and was failed by the veteran in charge she died 10 hours after leaving there. She was far worse after leaving their care. We belive their treatment was her death. She fell fast after leaving there. It was like we failed her but we tried our best.we brought her to the vet....

Fantastic experience: I'd give these guys 6 stars if I could. Vets are expensive, just as a rule and this one somehow makes you feel like it isn't. People seem careful and caring with the dogs, they're always on time and always thorough. Providing lab results when asked, doing decent reminders etc. They just renovated their clinic as well, and again I'm not seeing the spay prices sky rocket etc.

Fantastic experience: We moved from Mississauga to Kitchener 2 yrs ago and found Manitou Animal Hospital was close by. Had our cats records transferred and have nothing but great experience. Staff great, location, being an animal Hospital a bonus. Call up when I'm low on food or meds and pickup same day if available. Thank you for taking care of our furbabies.

Fantastic experience: I have 3 dogs, 2 of them are rescues. I have always known them to take special care of my animals. When we had issues with another vet over charging we brought them here on a friend's recommendation. Never regretted the decision.

Fantastic experience: I adopted a cat recently and had something come up with her, I had to find a vet quickly and called here after looking at the reviews. They were able to see me the next day which was great! I found the ladies at the desk were very friendly and helpful, as was the vet tech. Doctor Grinberg was thorough with his exam and took the time to explain the issues and all the options available to me. Overall a stressful time was made easier on me.

Fantastic experience: Literally the BEST Veterinary office we have ever been to and I could not recommend a better place to bring your furry loved ones. Our senior dog Ripley has been to MANY vet offices throughout his 13+ years of life (as we have moved many times) and I cannot properly express the unwavering gratitude and respect we have for the entire team of staff at Manitou Animal Hospital, and the incredible care they give to our beloved animals We have 3 pets in total (2 dogs and 1 cat) and we truly could not ask for a more amazing & caring place to take them to — With special attention to our blind senior dog Ripley, whom has often been overlooked in the past by other vets and people in general, due to his old age of (13+ years old), many ailments & his specific diabetic needs — but is NEVER overlooked at Manitou Animal Hospital! He is truly treated like GOLD there and treated with all the love and respect in the world by EVERY SINGLE PERSON who works there. This isn’t just a career or job for them, as its beyond apparent that they truly & deeply care about your animals and really do go above and beyond to make them feel comfortable and to show them love and care. Truly the best staff and care you will ever have for your pet & my husband and I truly cannot say enough positive things about this amazing place. Fantastic experience: Friendly staff who don't restrict the purchase of their supplies to only their clientele. There are both cat and dog foods which treat a variety of health conditions available. Including the Digestive Care one I always buy for my cats. Both in the 4lbs and 8lbs bags! Plus the prices for both sizes are much cheaper than the other vets I've been to! Will definitely be going back.

When we moved to Kitchener we had trouble finding a vet who was accepting new “patients” so we were very relieved when we not only found one, but found a great one! Negative experience: I have edited my review has I am very disappointed at the level of care I have received. My daughter's kitten had ingested a foreign object in which no ultrasound was done, the vet actually told my daughter you can't tell anyways and gave her a shot for nausea. Seven days after Manitou Hospital visit our cat was rushed to emergency vet hospital on Maple Grove. They did the ultrasound and indeed it was still there (multiple items after she showed it in her stool at Manitou - some had passed). Our beloved pet stopped eating, drinking, standing and basically at death's door. 24 Animal Hospital in Cambridge did the surgery that day after all the blood work, ultrasound and tests had been done. All because Manitou Animal Hospital didn't want to take the time and do an extra step to get an ultrasound done to confirm 7 days prior. I had tried to email the Manitou clinic manager, I tried to discuss what happened. I paid money for an appointment that Manitou did nothing for. After have major surgery at 24 Hour Animal Hospital - I wanted to do appeal to the Ontario Board of Veterinarians over what happened. Maki could have died because of their neglect and unwillingness to do an ultrasound - actually put in the effort in and do the procedure. The technician at 24 Hour Animal Hospital on Maple Grove in Cambridge said the ultrasound 100% should have been done without question and requested that day. She couldn't believe it was never done. We are highly disappointed and dissatisfied with Manitou Animal Hospital. We were scared to trust any other vet after this. I once held them in high esteem. I am sad because I have been with them for 8 years. This was not the first time we had been dismissed over a life threatening health issue - so far as I had to bring my service dog in to 24 hour Animal Hospital and then get a referral to OVC Hospital in Guelph. One time - I can see something happening and sliding we are human. Twice something happening - now that is just neglectful. Beware. They may be cheaper but their priorities aren't in your pet's best interest (FYI cost was covered through Trupanion) so there was no issue with an ultrasound being done at any point in time for Maki). Thank you.

Fantastic experience: They are great with my rabbit! Got her spayed here. Dr. Eva is very helpful. I wish they could have full on staff and doctors available for rabbits when needed but they are always so helpful when I call or come in.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Kristyne Smith was just lovely. During the pandemic we had to give them our pets at the door and come back to pick them up after the visit. But I really appreciated her keeping me informed of how each visit went and answering any questions I had. The front desk staff were also very kind. I have recommended Dr. Smith to all my friends with pets!

Peter and his team are top notch and have provided expert care over the years, going above and beyond. Peter came in on his day off to operate on our dog who needed immediate surgery. They truly care about the welfare of our pets. If you are looking for a vet and staff who will go the extra mile then this is the place to go for all your veterinary needs.

Fantastic experience: Since I brought my cat from the east coast almost 4 years ago, I have been going to see Dr. Eva. Dr. Eva and everyone at Manitou Animal Hospital always provides the best service. Over the last few years my senior cat had a few health issues and I always felt very supported by everyone in the clinic. When I had to say ‘see you later’ to my cat of 19 years and the clinic couldn’t have been kinder to me throughout the whole process. I felt their hearts hurt just as much as mine and that tells me they truly care. With the addition of new lovable kittens to my world, there is no question where we go to receive their veterinary care. Thank you to everyone at the clinic who has always provided kind and amazing care to my fur family and who I know will continue to do so :)

Negative experience: If you love your pet don’t bring it here. I brought my lovely cat here for initial exam, and rabies and without my consent they microchipped her. I have been the customer with manitou for a long time but this was way unprofessional. When I am asking them to remove it they are refusing it to do it.
