Fantastic experience: My new little baby kittens were treated so gently, and they were both welcomed with such kindness. The vet was very thorough in her examinations, & both kittens got a clean bill of health. Neither one of them noticed they got their second set of booster shots. The vet was that good, not to mention the yummy treats they were given. The kittens were given such great care & lots of compliments, which made me feel like I was home. I am VERY happy to be a part of the Mitchell Animal Hospital family. It makes me feel good to know all of my fur babies are in very good hands. Thank you so much!

Fantastic experience: From Oscars second opinion exam to his euthanizing and everything in between. (Quotes and communication) the staff were amazing. They were thorough, informative, empathetic, kind, and gave not only Oscar but myself such amazing care during a really shitty situation. I can not thank you all enough for bringing some light to such a dark time. I will be switching permanently. I have a 3 year old female cat that will come to you now. What they say is true, you get what you pay for. While the prices are slightly higher then other vet clinics we’ve been to, the quality of your service and care is also higher than other vet clinics.

Fantastic experience: Dr Nat was so caring to our dog. Even a follow-up call to check on her. We appreciated that they seen our dog so quickly and with care. The only negative is that the prices of food, prescriptions, and appts have gotten very expensive since Dr. Gerald retired. Sadly, we have to hesitate on dog care now because of our financial situation and the cost at your facility. .

Fantastic experience: This clinic is fantastic. Always clean with helpful and friendly techs. My Zelda gets excellent care when she's there. She recently was spayed and received exceptional care. We received the quote for the spay which was very helpful in understanding the charges (not expensive) and I even had a conversation where the charges were explained to me. Zelda came out of it healthy and happy, and I can tell she wasn't traumatized from the experience at all. So glad we found Mitchell for our darling puppy's medical needs.

Fantastic experience: They treat my animal with respect and love and they give the best advice without trying to make me go broke or make me feel bad for not knowing something. You avoid the unnecessary tests when you can. I would always come here if I wasn't on ODSP. I use East Village animal Hospital (for non emergencies) but this is by far the best veterinarians is Mitchell Animal Hospital, I appreciate everything you've done for us over the years. The hours are amazing and staff friendly and caring.

Negative experience: Everything here has been reviewed to make profit from things no other vets charge for. It’s as if a team sat down and said how do we maximize profits. This is not a bad vet. Just very corporate run. I have no loyalty to a clinic I take my dog to who can see him fastest. Staff have been trained very well to express excitement for all pets entering facility. Medications and blood/urine ultrasounds here cost far more than any vet I’ve been to. Expect to pay thousands of dollars before getting your pet healthy here.

Fantastic experience: Had to take my dog with disability in for a procedure. Staff, specially Tyler, are always very helpful and caring. Tyler helped to take her out of the truck. My dog is a big bread. They always make us feel comfortable and welcome when we go there.

Fantastic experience: I would recommend Mitchell Animal Hospital a million times over. After a very disappointing experience with another vet clinic, I brought my cat to Mitchell for a second opinion on her pancreatitis. Dr. Lauren was so thorough and answered all my questions and calmed my nerves. They got her in the next day for ultrasound and everything has been smooth and timely since. The receptionists are lovely and they even take my Trupanion insurance directly! Their hours are fantastic for those who work unconventional hours, and they are open Saturday’s. I finally feel like I’m getting the best possible care that I can for my girl, and I feel confident that we have found our vet clinic for life!

Fantastic experience: When we first brought our senior dog in after suffering her leg/hip injury we expected the worse outcome. We were not aware of the potential for rehab. As a result of the physio, medication and supplements she is back to her old self. Thank you Dr. Natalie and Morgan. We could not be more pleased. Fantastic experience: Years ago I brought my dog Spud to Mitchell and now my cat Sophia. I have always had really good experiences when bringing my pets in. My most recent visit was no exception. I had been in contact with Dr Chrissy regarding my cats condition and was hoping to have an appointment with her, but it was her day off. Tyler, Dr. Andria Joy and Bella during this visit were all so helpful and reassuring. Bella helped me out so much at the front and even figured out how much food I will need to feed Sophia so I didn't have to (kibble/wet food combo). I'm very happy that I returned to Mitchell for Sophia's care.

Fantastic experience: We had to use your clinic during our saddest moments. Your care and compassion in that terrible situation prompted us to switch vets. Our recent visit with our nervous corso although she was super nervous the vet we saw was patient and moved at our dogs pace. I really appreciate how caring your team is. Fantastic experience: I have had 3 cats over the past two decades who have been patients of Mitchell Animal Hospital, and the staff have always provided them with excellent care. I recently had to make the hard decision to put my very sick cat down. I booked an appt for in-home euthanasia, and was able to get an appt within 2 days. Dr. Natsuko and vet tech, Shaine attended, and their compassion, and tender care of my cat during his final moments, made one of the hardest days of my life a little easier to get through. I truly appreciated Dr Nat and Shaine’s kindness, support and professionalism.

They were very kind to not only my boy but also to me as I was quite upset and scared for the health and wellbeing of my cat on our emergency visit. The staff provided quality care and were also very considerate and transparent of the costs without judgement. What could have been a disaster became a positive experience and my sweet boy has responded very well to their treatment plan for which I am so grateful. Would 1000% recommend!!

Negative experience: I called to have my cat looked at 5pm on Wednesday August 13 2025 they told me they could bot take me until 8pm. Then there will be a extra 150$ chrage compared to the $120. Which is already high. Most charge betwen $80-$100. They told me because after 7pm. This is not fair to people that are in a emergency and care for there loved ones. If you need a emergency vet Highland pet hospital can help you he is fair I spent $181 saving her life at highland at mitchel it would have been $150 plus minmum $100 for fluids. That extra $70 goes right into the owners pocket. This I know beacsue my vet Dr Sharma charges $70 for the exam and around $80-$90 for the fluids. Hopefully this made you consider your vet choice. The ones that do it for a fair price like Westheights veterinary hospital and Higland pet hospital are good honest doctors whom care very much.

Fantastic experience: I have had my dog to this hospital a few times in the last couple of months. Every member of staff I have met from front desk, to vet techs and the Doctors have been absolutely amazing. They have always offered several treatment options at the time of the visit, and have sent me email estimates for ultrasounds and x rays if his issues progressed further. Having them layout treatment options and upfront costs has been helpful in guiding my dogs treatment. I have always felt that all my questions have been answered and my concerns are heard and addressed. The doctors phone follow ups have been a great comfort and if I have any additional questions, they always take the time to make sure I understand everything and put my mind at ease. With my little seniors health issues, it is always good to know I have somewhere close I can go in an emergency or even just to call and get a fresh perspective on a health issue.

Negative experience: This rate is my subjective opinion and constructive feedback onto a technician with an initial “”B” the blond petite one. I wonder if the hospital has a service survey after each visit. To be clear, I give the animal doctor a 5 stars rating for her services at my visit, but my rating today is for the clinic’s technician “B”. His customer service is a 1 star in my opinion. He needs to orient himself with my dog’s profile before talking to a dogs parent. He has my dogs profile on her monitor with all info but not mindful of error- “B” appears not detail oriented in my opinion. Its minor but not to a dog parent like me. So i wonder what other little mistakes he is making. Animals services are expensive and customers need quality service.. You know what i am saying? He needs to read my dogs profile first before taking to a parent addressing their dogs. if he is unsure about my dogs profile ask. He didn't apologize and dismissed a parents discomfort. I don't know if he is overworked or just a young professional. His mild error left me questioning myself if i should go back there or not or get the insurance the hospital suggested. Obviously. I had a 1 star experience at reception level. If there is a take away for you, my readers, be mindful of technician’s carelessness no matter how small. “B” potential ineptness is bothersome for me. I was too distressed to speak up from what my dog went through that day. I should had been assertive and that’s something i will be working on. Little minor errors could cause potentially or inadvertently grief to dogs and their parents and cost them a very unsatisfied customer.

Positive experience: Only been there once but it seems like a good place. This vet Dr. Hammer knows her stuff and it’s makes me happy to know that my tiny little dog is in good hands

Fantastic experience: Easy to book appointments online! I was able to get an appointment that very morning. The office is clean. Our vet (Lauren) was friendly and very competent. She treated our kitty with respect and kindness.

Fantastic experience: I haven’t actually been to the vet, but bought some food for my cats. All staff if amazing and helpful. They are also open till late which is such a life saver. I wouldn’t definitely consider taking my cats there!

Negative experience: Pros: - Dr. Reid is very knowledgeable and an excellent clinician. Highly recommended for any rehab cases. Similar feedback for the rehab technicians. Cons: - The staff at the reception is often NOT friendly. They also get annoyed when dogs bark... Yes. Seriously. - Many technicians are also reluctant to answer questions patiently during regular procedures, like vaccinations. They rush you to get out. - Lastly, some doctors have zero empathy. I got an appointment cancelled for arriving exactly 9 minutes late, thanks to unexpected road closures. This usually wouldn't bother me if it wasn't because in most cases when I show up on time, I have to wait 20 to 30 minutes for someone to help me and I don't just leave... The most ridiculous thing is that I got a voice message saying I was there 15 minutes late and the message time is less than 10 minutes after the appointment time?? These lies are also unacceptable. Conclusion: After a lot of consideration I'm not coming back here unless it's to see Dr. Reid and the rehab team.

Whether I'm there to pick up food, for a scheduled checkup, emergency, or euthanasia I've always been extremely happy with the level of care and quality of service my pet and I have received.

Positive experience: I have been going to this vet office since 2009. Until the last year or so I would have given a five start review. There has been a lot of growth at the office that is helpful for pet caregivers and owners - longer hours and more appointment times. They are able to accommodate emergencies very well. The vets I have met with in person are knowledgeable and caring. When it comes to the ongoing care of my dog, I have seen changes in the availability of vets to follow up with care and questions. This has impacted the care that I think my dog is getting. Having a variety of people available is convenient for owners, and makes it challenging for pets to receive consistent care.

Fantastic experience: We have always had an amazing experience here, but this one was worth writing a review for! Our pup has primary glaucoma, and had her left eye removed somewhere else last year. The experience was traumatizing. Late last week, she had a flare in her remaining eye and we prepared to have to get it removed. Between 5 days, we came into the vet 3 times, tried different eye drops and pain killers, and ultimately decided to remove her eye. They booked us in for the quickest appointment they could and accommodated us the whole way. The vets and techs are all so kind and encouraging. When she came out of her surgery, we felt so much relief because of the care she received. Though newly blind and groggy from the surgery, our dog was happy, wagging her tail and feeling great. It made this big adjustment so much easier. Thank you so much to the entire team - they are by far the best vet we’ve ever worked with!

Fantastic experience: Vet, vet tech, and reception staff are all incredible. They are all very kind, reassuring, and know exactly what they are doing. Would not take my cat anywhere else for routine care!

Negative experience: Over the course of several appointments, I have consistently found myself waiting upwards of 15 minutes before being seen by a veterinarian. Additionally, the veterinarian assigned to my pet changes with each visit, which has resulted in a lack of consistency in care. I have also been disappointed by the reception staff, who do not greet clients promptly and often come across as unfriendly. In an industry where customer service is essential, these issues have made my experience at your hospital less than satisfactory. As a paying customer, I expect a high level of service, especially in a competitive market. Unfortunately, I feel Michelle Animal Hospital has forgotten this, which has led me to make the decision to switch to another veterinary clinic for Teddi’s care. I hope you take this feedback seriously, as I believe improvements can be made to ensure future clients do not experience the same frustrations I have encountered.

Negative experience: Had my worst experience here. I called to follow up on my cat illnesses, they said they took notes and will transfer it to the doctor. I have been waiting an hour for a callback, and when I called again, apparently, they are fully booked and closing soon, but they didn’t care enough to call me back to tell me that. They suggested me take him to emergency only then. You could have said that earlier, not after an hour wait. I doubt they had ever thought of calling an anxious parent back to tell her they are not available.

Fantastic experience: Wonderful vet. They helped us a lot with our dogs over the years. We came to trust them and they were perfect at times when we had to say goodbye to a furry family member.

Fantastic experience: Most of the staff members are incredibly kind and helpful. I ask numerous questions during every visit (and sometimes over the phone), and they always respond with patience and kindness. To be honest, my first visit wasn't very pleasing as the vet didn't seem attentive to my questions/concerns and did not do a proper wellness check-up, including not checking her teeth, ears, etc. I decided to meet different vets before switching, and I found Dr. Okaniwa. If you have a cat, I highly recommend Mitchell Animal Hospital, especially because Dr. Okaniwa is so knowledgeable and experienced when it comes to feline care.

Positive experience: For the most part they are friendly , one of the front staff are very cold hearted when you’re in there for care and your heart is hurting already. Not too compassionate. I find them pretty expensive as I spent over a couple thousand dollars with no answers still. Watching my fur baby still this weak and ill after so much money is definitely frustrating. Also not giving out prescriptions and vending the drugs themselves is definitely frustrating as well. Hopefully they are not owned by a larger corporation and are being as fair as possible. I wish they had a payment plan. Being thrown a huge bill is really hard for some people. Especially when your animal is not even better. I think if you do ultrasound X-rays and blood work you should have an answer of some sort.

Fantastic experience: We had an amazing experience this morning with my German Shepherd. We called early to request an emergency appointment and were promptly seen and scheduled for an appointment within a few hours. This was our first visit to the hospital, and I have to say it was our best experience. The attention and care they gave my dog ​​was incredible. Dr. Chrissy's care was professional and very attentive, caring and affectionate. From the moment we called to the moment we arrived at the hospital, the entire service was very friendly. The receptionists, the examining girls and the doctor went out of their way to make us feel welcome, even in the middle of an emergency. My dog ​​will definitely be another patient at this hospital. And I can't thank you enough for all the support.

Positive experience: I was shocked to discover you are owned by NVA corporation. The lack of transparency with the ownership change is very disappointing. Your website makes no reference to NVA and in fact dr Natalie’s profile states that she is the owner leading your customers to believe you are privately owned. It’s difficult to ascertain if your price increases are due to the economy or corporate greed. While I’m happy with the care I receive for my pet, the corporate ownership does not sit well me.

Fantastic experience: Everyone at Mitchell has always been great ! Izzy is somewhat a regular there and she has given them challenges lol. But she is doing well with the help of everyone at Mitchell.

Fantastic experience: After moving to a new city, my cat became unwell unexpectedly. I was extremely anxious about finding a new veterinary office to trust with her care in such a short time. The team at Mitchell Animal Hospital is fantastic, and with their help my cat is back to being healthy & happy! The staff are attentive, caring, and dedicated.

Negative experience: Very disrespectful from reception!! She even hung up the phone when I asked them for the over priced medication on the bill. The price for service and medication have gone up frequently, But the quality of care are getting poor. Gerald had been great in the past but his employees are not maintaining his level of care anymore. Very disappointed!

Negative experience: Very sad that after 25 years I have made to decision to leave Mitchell Animal hospital. Their fees have shot up way too much for most of us to afford. I also miss being able to see the same vet (seems to be so many of them now making you feel like a number/new client each time). Continuity of care is important for our pets. Last straw- refused ear medication for my dog whom has had 4 ear infections in last year (seen and treated by them) unless I pay additional exam fee first. Shame that Mitchell’s has changed their approach to customer service/doing what’s best for pet to being focused on their bottom line.

Fantastic experience: The staff here (legitimately everyone) are incredibly friendly, professional, kind, and patient... I can't say enough positive things about this place. The care my fur babies have received from them is 10/10& i wouldn't dream of going anywhere else if I can help it. I drive almost an hour away to take my dog & cat here because they're so great at what they do

Fantastic experience: The doctors were very professional and handled my cat's issue appropriately while also taking my financial situation into consideration, offering a discount on the bill. My cat is currently in the post-surgery critical period, and I hope he recovers soon.

Positive experience: We brought our sick cat in, and the staff and first vet we saw were fantastic. Very honest, and helpful. Our cat got sicker after the first visit, had to bring him back, and were told to try steroids by another vet as a last resort, which we agreed to and tried to save him. We called again last night, he was very very sick and we thought it might be his time, and were told to "maybe consider surrendering him and someone else who can afford the expensive treatment can adopt him". This is unacceptable. We spent well over $1000.00 in a week span, and it made us feel terrible. We were then told to just keep doing the medications for another couple days and hope it works. Unfortunately this won't be the case, as he passed away overnight and is no longer with us. I do not blame Mitchell Animal Hospital in any way for this. The staff was fantastic, the first vet we saw was amazing, and they clearly care about the animals. However, there needs to be some kind of compassion to us as owners who are going through a tough time with our sick animals. Making us feel terrible for not having $5000.00 + to spend is not a good idea. You might love animals as a vet, but if you can't deal with having the tough conversations, you might not want to be the one dealing with the public as it gives off a terrible perception. The entire phone call was very awkward last night, with some giggling involved, which might have been nerves/awkwardness, but it is still not okay. Just wanted to give my advice, which is when people are going through a really rough time and have very tough decisions to make, having some compassion and understanding goes a long way.

Fantastic experience: These guys are the best. My Dachshund puppy, Lucy, came in for her first lepto shot today. The tech told me there may be a reaction as she has the same type of dog and her dog had a reaction. Unfortunately my dog did react the same way hers did. When I brought Lucy back in to deal with the reaction, the team was very caring and made sure to keep me up to date on how she was doing while she received treatment. The cherry on top was they didn’t even end up charging me for the vet visit and just charged me for the medication/shots she needed. Thanks guys! 10/10

Fantastic experience: Every single vet I've seen here is absolutely phenomenal. The technicians are capable and knowledgeable, anyone you phone or email is helpful and so, so kind. I have brought both my senior cat and my dog here for care, most recently a lump removal for my dog and cannot get over the level of service and care we've received. Thank you to the team!
