Fantastic experience: We sought out St Francis for their specialized care and certification of fearful/anxious dogs and every time we go I am so immensely grateful we did. Their skill, kindness and understanding are unmatched and we are unbelievably thankful for the care they give our sweet nervous boy!

Fantastic experience: Dr. Meredith and Dr. Shelby, as well as their amazing team, are solely responsible for our cat Ziggy being alive today. Ziggy’s symptoms were so difficult to diagnose, we did not have the financial means for extensive diagnostics, and we thought he was going to die. However, after a week of the diagnostics we could afford, trying multiple antibiotics, and him not getting better, Dr. Shelby made a last ditch effort, and prescribed GS medication to treat for dry FIP. It is notoriously hard to diagnose, many cats often dying due to lack of diagnosis. Ziggy was on death’s door, we were syringe feeding and providing IV fluids to keep him alive. Within 2 days, Ziggy made leaps and strides. 84 days later, and Ziggy is a GS graduate, a FIP warrior, and completely back to himself. I would not recommend any other vet to anyone, St. Francis saved Ziggy’s life no doubt about it. We are forever grateful. (See before and after photos)

Negative experience: This clinic was rude on the phone and denied my dog because of his temperment and my finances even though I had money to pay for my visits.

Fantastic experience: We LOVE the staff at St Francis!!! Everyone has been incredibly wonderful over the past few years we've been going to them. They're true animal lovers and you can feel it. They're really great about recommending treatments while balancing an understanding that sometimes we don't have the budget for all of it right now, and also helping us prioritize what should be dealt with first. We've never felt judged in any way for what we can or can't afford. They've also never judged us about feeding raw or partial raw to our animals, which was a big relief from hearing other people's stories with different vet clinics. The peace of mind they provide knowing they have our pets' best interest at heart, their honesty about what to prioritize, and their willingness to work with you and your pets to provide the least stressful experience, is something you can't put a price tag on. Even after moving cities, we still make the trip to go to them.

The entire team was amazing form the moment I walked in ,everyone was super friendly and the vet Tech and Vet were very nice and helpful and answered all my questions , they even gave me pointers on how to manage a kitten. I would recommend this clinic !

Fantastic experience: Recently took my senior dog for her first visit to St. Francis for a check up and her monthly arthritis shot. The staff were all so friendly and helpful and Dr. Paulseth spent as much time as needed answering questions and listening to how my pets are doing. She even took the time to answer a couple of general questions about my cat even though the visit wasn’t about her.

The friendly and knowledgeable staff were very helpful in getting my dogs looked after. They answered all my questions and provided solutions to all my concerns. Negative experience: **edit: read below for more** My cat eventually went on Predisilone and responded fabulously to a minimum low inflammatory dose vs. the immunosuppressive dose recommended by St. Francis. I can only imagine the impact on her had I gone with their clearly misguided recommendation. My husband and I moved back to KW eight months ago and switched from Mitchell Animal Hospital (our previous vet in town) to a clinic closer to our new home (St. Francis). After seven frustrating months and over $3,000 spent at St. Francis trying to diagnose and treat my cat’s condition, we’ve now switched back to Mitchell, whom I highly recommend. To be clear - investing in our pet’s health is a priority. It’s not about the cost; it’s about quality and how we are made to feel. What I expect from a vet is clear communication, a structured approach to diagnostics, compassion, and a willingness to connect the dots rather than throwing every test and treatment at the wall to see what sticks. Unfortunately, that wasn’t my experience at St. Francis. I found that their approach to vet care was reactive rather than proactive, often leaving me to do my own research (ChatGPT at 3AM…) to determine the next steps. Instead of guiding us through a *clear* treatment plan, they presented a scattered, conflicting series of recommendations that only led to more uncertainty. When I sought clarification on some of this - tests, treatments, or even basic medication instructions - I was made to feel like I was asking too much. They eventually pushed for us to see an internal medicine specialist - but only when my questions outpaced their ability to answer. Basic patient care was also lacking. When my cat was prescribed a steroid, they filled the script for 100 pills with no dosage justifications. When I questioned the high dose (4 pills a day), they dismissively said, "this is the standard dose for IBD” - with no other details. I believe that a vet should provide clear, tailored recommendations, and not charge for a telemedicine appointment just to clarify medication dosage on an open case. Having to push for more specifics on dosage is, in my opinion, irresponsible on their part. Beyond the care concerns, I also found their rigid stance on prescription vet diets concerning. Dr. Shelby was quite condescending when I expressed hesitancy based on past experiences, dismissing alternative approaches outright. Given the many unknowns in veterinary medicine, I expect my vet to be open to discussion when it comes to treatment options - whether it be diet, medications or alternate / more holistic approaches to care. At the end of the day, I felt like a revenue stream and a nuisance to St. Francis, and not a client. Their higher-than-average fees, limited hours, confusing care program and dismissive attitude made it clear that we needed to move on. I cannot recommend St. Francis for anyone dealing with feline medical issue - especially if you're an anxious pet parent who needs clear, compassionate guidance and a pragmatic approach to pet care that doesn’t involve throwing every treatment and test at the wall to see what sticks, without helping to synthesize the results into a cohesive plan that you trust.

Dr. Merideth and the entire team at St. Francis have been exceptional: compassionate, attentive, and consistently professional. We joined the clinic just over two years ago after transitioning from a larger country practice that, while excellent, was quite far from home. After some careful research, we chose St. Francis—and from our very first visit, we were impressed by the team’s proactive approach to managing Tucker’s allergies, all while being mindful of our budget at the time. Coming from a larger clinic, we did experience some initial sticker shock. That said, having friends who are veterinarians helped us better understand the costs involved in running a high-quality practice. More importantly, we hadn’t had much success managing Tucker’s allergies before. Since joining St. Francis, his allergies have significantly improved, and both my fiancé and I agree the investment has been well worth it—for stress-free visits, responsive care, and a happy, healthy dog. The team consistently takes the time to listen, offer thoughtful solutions, and accommodate urgent appointments when needed. Recently, we needed to come in for stitches, and they had us booked in within the hour. Without hesitation, we can say this is the best veterinary clinic we’ve ever worked with. Our only complaint is we wish we found this place sooner!

Fantastic experience: The saff are very friendly and the doctor was very caring, gentle and showed compassion for my Tabby. My cat had a happy experience at this clinic and still plays with the toy they sent her home with. I've found the right vet for me and my fur baby. Fantastic experience: The service is always great. The only downside is the hours, it's hard to get in when you work 9-5 without booking some time off. Otherwise we have never had a bad experience here and both my cats are well looked after when they go.

I've never felt rushed and everyone takes the time to really understand me and my dog, and talk through all of the options available so I can make an informed choice. It's also very easy to get a timely appointment and if I call for advice I always get a callback quickly :) Tobi has many troubles but St. Francis is not one of them!

The vet tech and Dr. Shelby both treated my cats with care and explained to me what was happening during the visit. Once we arrived, the immediately greeted us and were very sweet to my worried cat. The office was very clean (even smelled nice for a vets office!) and the care was prompt and organized. Fantastic experience: We had a scare this week with our dog, we thought he was really sick (thank goodness it was not what we thought it was!). I called St Francis right away and explained what was happening and they said to bring him right in. The girls and Dr. Anna were ready for him and took him right in and explained exactly what was happening. We got him fixed up and we got a call two days later to check on him to see how he was doing. The staff are wonderful!

Fantastic experience: Every time I bring Poppy she is greatly cared for by everyone in the clinic. From Natalie at reception who has helped me immensely with all of my questions and paperwork (also thank you for the boarding recommendation, the place looks nice!) to Michelle who always make sure that Poppy is less anxious and treat her with so much loving care. The vet staff at the clinic is also absolutely outstanding and knowledgable . Dr Skorobohacz took great care of Poppy in her latest checkup and was very thorough and Dr. Murphy who greatly helped with Poppy’s anxiety. Dr. Paulseth has been a great support in finding Poppy’s allergies and giving her a better quality of life! Management is also outstanding. I’ve rarely had to wait more than 5 min before the appointment (if I had to wait at all) and they do have a good amount of available hours and appointment so you don’t have to wait weeks to get your pup checked. Thank you to all the staff that makes the clinic so good!

Unexpected health issues have been met with timely support and explanation of options. Vet stuff is expensive, and that's the terrible truth. Fantastic experience: A friendly and warm atmosphere. They are very welcoming of questions and full of different advice. I was given several ideas for new toys and play I can do with my cat when I asked for suggestions. They are not pushy with selling extra services (as some vets I have been to have) and simply want to help your animal. You can tell they care deeply about the animals they see. I cannot recommend them enough. I will be staying with them for the foreseeable future.

Fantastic experience: Been coming for years and absolutely enjoy the staffs energy and compassion towards our pup. He has needed a few surgeries and as I nervous as I am they make me feel more calm. My dog also never experiences any anxiety when here. They are very good at mitigating any anxiety in pets. They work with us to try and stay in budget and are mindful in the fact that it is trying times for people in their 20's trying to get ahead in life. We will do what needs to be done in terms of our dog but planning out meds to not be a lump sum helps. The option to spread out certain things is wonderful. They don't push any "unnecessary" or frivolous purchases or procedures. They don't judge, which is wonderful. I tell everyone to bring their fur children here.

Negative experience: We moved to Canada from Turkey last year. We have a sick, 2 year-old cat, so we've been observing her health very closely from the beginning. We've met and worked with many vets from all over the world but never seen such a clumsy one like them! First of all, they know so very little about cats and they are ALL about money. They charge you for anything they can; even for filling out a form you bring to them... They don't even answer any questions without charging money (about an ongoing situation you've been seeing them for). They don't have the slightest idea about some major breakthroughs in veterinary medicine... I wouldn't recommend this clinic to anyone who's really interested in their pets' health and well being, not being treated like the royal family. We have another vet in Fergus now; changing them into the new one was the wisest choice we've made.

Fantastic experience: I can't thank St. Francis enough for all the care they provided for my cat from the beginning of her time with me to the end of her life. She didn't fear her trips to the vet. After dental surgery, the staff kept me informed of her progress. And even when it came time to say goodbye to her, St. Francis was there to take the best care of her. Fantastic experience: The staff at St. Francis Animal Clinic made my cat's first appointment simple and hassle-free. I booked an appointment for my cat on the same day, and the staff at St. Francis were willing to treat him though his primary vet was about an hour away. They truly cared about helping my cat feel better, including going through his historical documents and ensuring his vaccines were full and up to date. The staff were welcoming, helpful, and thorough. The vet was knowledgable and professional and explained every step before moving forward. The office was clean, my appointment was timely, and I'm super glad I chose St. Francis. I had a wonderful experience and definitely will be returning.

Fantastic experience: My cat Colby was nervous and pooped in his carrier in the waiting room when I was paying the bill. The vet tech that was working at St Francis AC. took the poopy blanket away rinsed it out and out it into a plastic bag for me to take home, and gave me a towel to put in the bottom of the carrier for Colby. She also cleaned Colby's bottom so he would be clean for the drive home. She was Awesome and deserves a BIG Thank You!! and acknowledgement for her compassion and assistance, that she provided Colby, and me that day. I don't even know her name But she was GREAT!! You have really good people working for you there at the Clinic. The reception staff are also wondaful, It has always been a pleasure dealing with ST Francis AC. I am a long Time customer almost 40 Years now with St Francis. I have recommended you to everyone I know that is looking for a good Vet. Thank You Wayne
