Fantastic experience: From the time we are first greeted by reception, to the time we leave, we always feel like a priority. We followed our Vet here from Brantford years ago. Her care, support, compassion and knowledge was irreplaceable. When we received the news that our Vet was on leave, we were unsure if we would get the same care. Those feelings were heard and we have never looked back. We have had different veterinarians and each one has been able to pick up where the previous one left off. Our visit yesterday was met with a commitment of support. Our Vet technician/Veterinary Assistant was knowledgeable , caring and attentive. She shared all our concerns and needs to the Veterinarian. Fantastic experience: Nothing but positive experiences here with all of my pets. They show genuine concern, don't try to upsell you, they do a follow up phone call when needed to check in and see how your pet is doing. They talk you through the exam of your pet while they are doing it so you know what they are doing and why. I personally find this very professional and helpful.

The communication and dedication between all staff is so reassuring. They take those extra steps to make sure all my "kids" are monitored and feel like home. Another successful surgery behind us and positive transition home. In a crisis or just standard concerns Hwy 24 has become an extension to our family over the past 20+ years. Today with COVID protocols in place I waited to be called for my girl to have a shot. She saw Dr Mike caring for another family and began to swim to him as I held her. I had to tell her he was busy working to get her to stop.. She adores him and I can't say I've often seen a pup behave like that with someone that's holding a needle..lol Testimony to caring relationship. Thank you

Negative experience: A new vet prescribed my dog medication without doing a blood test beforehand. My dog subsequently went into liver failure and had to be put down. When we raised concerns, I felt no responsibility was acknowledged. We felt intimidated when management contacted us after posting a review, citing confidentiality concerns. I will never support this establishment ever again, they broke my trust and my heart. Its been almost a year since his passing and I miss him dearly

Fantastic experience: I am very happy with our first visit to Highway 24 veterinary clinic! When I called to make our first appointment, the receptionist was extremely pleasant and helpful, which was amazing. Once we got there, everyone was so friendly and welcoming. The vet we saw, can't remember her name, was soooo caring and amazing. She explained everything, answered all of my questions, and didn't push me to do extra tests, shots etc. She sat on the floor with my dog and myself and we just chatted. She listened to my stories and even offered a kind shoulder for me to shed some tears about the loss of my best friend, just over a month ago. It was such a seamless process and I felt at home. My puppy didn't even want to leave once it was time to go home!!

Fantastic experience: I can not begin to express my gratitude for the kindness we were shown at Highway 24 this past few days. We’ve had the most difficult year of our lives and thought we might be starting our new year off by saying goodbye to our beloved pup, which is far from the what we wanted. Dr Leah brought our situation to the team and they all came together to ensure we had the chance to keep our dog with us. The generosity, selflessness and compassion this team showed us has truly left us speechless and we can’t thank them enough.

Fantastic experience: We had to make the very hard choice to put our sweet dog Rav to rest yesterday. After 15 years of the best care possible from Highway 24 particularly in the final months of her life the staff gave us and her the best care possible in her final moments. Allowing our other dog to join us in saying goodbye to her has helped her process this loss with us. I will be forever grateful to the entire staff for their care and grace and cannot recommend them enough to anyone who asks me what vet they should go too.

Dr. Slater has such a lovely manner with our dog and efficiently checks on my dog’s health. I appreciate’s her willingness to answer any of our questions. Positive experience: It’s a really good vet but the secretaries are way to loud when our dog was being put down they would not be quiet, I am always leaving with a headache because the girls in the back and the girls in the front are yelling the entire time. Please take this feed back, when peoples pets are sick we don’t want to hear you.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Jennifer and the team have been absolutely wonderful in providing high quality care to our senior dog, who has physical and behavioural health challenges. They let her be seen by outside when possible to lower the stress for her and provide timely, compassionate care and clear communication about findings and options, Recently she had a negative reaction to a medication and the team not only got us in to be seen the same day but also reported the incident to the manufacturer, resulting in reimbursement to offset treatment costs. We highly recommend them and will take our future animals there too.

Fantastic experience: The staff were so kind when I arrived with a smelly scared cat (hates car rides) and they got him and his carrier all cleaned up before the vet saw him. The team of vets here are wonderful, we tend to use whomever is available for our appointments and have always been treated so well. Prices are fair and reasonable. Would 100% recommend. Positive experience: I’ve been using this set of vets and this vet clinic for years. It’s outside my city and therefore difficult for me to get to be their quality of service and caring for my animals makes up the difference. My financial situation has changed and I am now on a very limited and trustee controlled budget but they are so helpful and willing to work with that. They have always accommodated me and my pets or as I consider them my children. Doing everything they can and the best they can for us, in the most efficient way possible. Thanks to everyone at Hwy 24 Vet. I really appreciate you and everything you do.

Negative experience: HORRIBLE PLACE! I informed the clinic that I am a new pet owner and that I need to get a rabies shot for my dog. The lady on the phone said $50 for the shot. After getting his shot, I was told my bill was $203 because of the exam the vet had to do. NOT ONCE WAS THIS FEE MENTIONED. The woman named Christie was disgustingly rude, aggressive, and belittling. I had to use my mortgage money to pay for this unexpected expense. The manager calls me and doesn't even offer a partial refund or complimentary service. I WAS RIPPED OFF!! AVOID THIS PLACE!!!

Fantastic experience: We had a great visit. It was a mature dog visit as my dog is now 8 years old and the Vet reviewed his file. We discussed Arloe's past health issues, discussed his current health and some good advise was clearly given.

Fantastic experience: Our foster cat Pudding was very sick with cancer, and in her 15th year, she was very kindly and gently euthanized, with the support and reassurance of the veterinarian and staff at Highway 24. Fantastic experience: My partner recently took our American bully to highway 24 clinic for his tail he banged up pretty bad from being too excited. When they returned home he was amazed by how professional and caring this clinic is. We had 4 dogs until recently our oldest 16yr old passed away so you can imagine we’ve had our fair share of vet visits in the last 16 yrs and by far this clinic surpassed our expectations. 100 percent satisfied by this clinic from the initial Check up to the follow up email a few days later.

While seeking a new vet, I came across Highway 24 Veterinary Clinic on Google, and I am eternally grateful that I did. My adorable cats, Sesame and Poppy, are Dr. Lucas's patients (dare I say, pawtients). He is truly incredible, and my cats would describe him as purfect and meowficent! I wish there were words I could string together to do justice to the depth and breadth of my wholehearted gratitude for every single person at this clinic. I have received immense care and clear information and directions from the start. With my cat, Sesame, there have been challenges with her health, so it has been a very turbulent time for me. The continued care and communication have truly been an anchor. I would not have been able to stay strong without them. As a testament to how truly caring all the people at this clinic are, my cats love their carriers. Since we have had so many vet visits for Sesame's condition, I have left her carrier out and open. The cats will take turns napping in the carrier. They associate the carrier with safety because of everyone at this clinic. Please don't look further for another clinic and register your pet(s) at this clinic because you will not be disappointed!

Fantastic experience: My girl Ruby fully believes she is the team’s absolute favourite dog when she comes in! All of the attention and treats means she has never been nervous to come in (though she can be finicky for certain tests) — in fact, she loves to pull me inside when we get out of the car. The team, from vet techs to vets, is also great at answering all of the questions I have had. A particular highlight has been Dr. Kaitlin Sparkman, who was the vet doing surgeries the day Ruby got spayed a couple years ago.

Fantastic experience: We were preparing to adopt a tiny senior chihuahua but had concerns about her health. Dr Chandrashek saw us within 12 hours and had a good look at Lola. She was very kind and reassured us that Lola was in good shape. The team at HWY 24 are wonderful and have consistently worked to accommodate the needs of our dogs.

Fantastic experience: The veterinarian’s don’t rush you through, allowing ample time for appointments and will research products, medications, food options with you to ensure you are supporting your pets in every way. Also give reading material to take home to educate on new ways to keep your pets healthy and safe. A very supportive environment all around.

Fantastic experience: We had an emergency situation when one of our dogs ate a fishhook while out with our dog walker. I could say in all confidence, "Take her to our vet and tell them to do what they had to do, and I'll pay them when I get back to town." It's a great feeling to have that much faith in your vet. Fantastic experience: Our dog Charlie came in with an emergency condition and the staff and veterinarian quickly assessed him and provided great care. The front desk is always polite and quick to connect with the animals making everyone feel calm. Fantastic experience: I think the main reason I would recommend Highway 24 Vet clinic is trust. I trust that the Vets are telling me the truth, that they recommend treatments, care, preventative measures that they would choose for their own pets. At times I feel there is a little bit of up selling i.e. products for dental care etc.. but when I ask if this will benefit my pet or would you choose this for your pet I feel that I get an honest answer. Honesty and putting the pet's needs first while still considering the means of the owners is what I need and what I have come to expect. Thank you for the work that you do!

Fantastic experience: Amazing staff, everyone is so friendly, kind and patient. I feel confident taking my fur baby here, they’ve always taken such good care of him and are so honest and helpful. I’ve received refunds for medications that didn’t work well with my dog, he has a sensitive stomach.

Fantastic experience: My 3 year old Maltese/Yorkie had been experiencing stomach issues and needed an ultra-sound. I was anxious about how well my dog, Handsome, would tolerate the procedure. When the technician met with him he happily went with them to the examination room. I was so glad that Hwy 24 loves the animals they work with and Handsome was a trooper! He would’ve been happy to stay longer!! The photos are of my poor baby not feeling well.

Fantastic experience: I just moved to Guelph and was nervous about changing vets. But this clinic is fantastic! Greeted by staff at the front desk who make your day with their awesome personalities... making you feel so welcome and at home. The transparency on prices is something unheard of for vet clinics. I'm not made of money and always find it so hard navigating vet visits. Expecting one price when you arrive and paying 3x that on the way out... But not at Highway 24! Right when you walk in there is a price list on the wall of every product they sell. We saw Dr. Leah and she is amazing! Knowledgable, informative, transparent and has a great personality (as it seems everyone in this clinic does). She is thorough and I really appreciate her transparency of cost in the front end of all treatment options. It makes it so easy to plan and prepare. Added bonus and most importantly, my super timid and nervous cat Nia was so comfortable with Dr. Leah! My cat tolerates vets but she ended up laying on the ground beside her.. which speaks volumes. If you're looking for a new vet, look no further ... You just found a great clinic.

Fantastic experience: I have no words to express my satisfaction with Highway 24 vet. It was our first visit with Esmeralda (my dog) she is 9 years old and it was my first time ever in receiving such great care and attention oriented by the greatest vet of all Dr. Akshaya she made our visit totally different! in 9 years of being a dog mom no one has taught me so much in 30 min and guide us through a good treatment plan for my dog who’s had Lyme disease in the past. Fantastic experience: I brought my border collie Sadie in for a routine checkup where it was discovered she is lime positive! Doctor Akshaya and the entire team at Highway 24 were courteous and incredibly sweet when it came to their dealings with me and Sadie. The communication has been prompt both proactively and reactively, the experience painless and I am left feeling Sadie and I have been well taken care of. I will return. I hope Doctor Akshaya and her colleagues can serve me and Sadie for years to come.

Negative experience: I’m having a difficult time processing this review, because I truly am taking this to heart. On February 23, 2025, my family and I had to make the hardest decision to put down our 6 year old dog. It was not due to old age, it wasn’t cancer, it wasn’t longterm health issues — it was due to liver failure at the cost of medication prescribed by a vet at Highway 24. My dog came in with a cornea ulcer and was prescribed Onsior, an anti-inflammatory by Dr. Akshaya Chandrashekar. I had full trust in this clinic, and I truthfully never thought I would have to say goodbye so soon to my soul dog. A few days after finishing his dose of Onsior, my dog went into liver failure. We were told by Hwy 24 to bring our dog to Campus Estates ER for immediate medical intervention, followed by a transfer to the Mississauga-Oakville animal ICU where his organs ultimately shut down and we had to euthanize him. All of the veterinary doctors could not 100% point out what the cause was, but several had speculated the Onsior was likely the result of my dog’s demise. We were told by an ER veterinarian, “some dogs take well to Onsior, and some simply don’t”. Why weren’t the potential side effects ever disclosed to us by Highway 24? Why weren’t blood tests done prior to having him on anti-inflammatories? We had no idea the medication was harsh on the liver until we did our research while our dog was in the hospital. He had a cone on for two weeks, and did not ingest anything foreign that would cause liver toxicity. Personally, I really enjoyed coming to Highway 24 for my dog’s vet needs. The staff are friendly, and I trusted the vets, but I will unfortunately forever hold resentment to the doctor. Though it wasn’t Dr. Akshaya’s intention, I lost my soul dog to this medication, and in my heart I truly believe he would still be alive had it not been for the Onsior. I’m forever broken and won’t get over his sudden death. I know things happen, but I will never emotionally recover from this trauma. After taking some time to reflect on his death, I will never come back to this clinic. A simple prescription caused an unnecessary demise, and that I will not forgive. He was my everything, my purpose, my happiness. I now walk into a home that’s empty. I lost the dog that was supposed to be the ring bearer at my wedding this summer. This clinic has lost my trust entirely.

Fantastic experience: This was the first time that I went there and I had to take my cat Lizzy for a dental procedure and the staff were friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful. I left her in there care and picked her up and the tech even carried my cat carrier out to the car for me since I’m disabled. Awesome group. Thanks

They got us in the same day and from the original phone call, to the people at the front desk, to the Dr, I can’t praise this clinic enough. They took the time to explain each and every procedure they were doing. Upon leaving the Vet, I was so impressed I rushed home to right a review. Fantastic experience: We have had a wonderful experience with this vet clinic over the past 8 years with our dog. We recently moved and I kept going to this clinic even though it was a further drive because of the trust built and wonderful service we have experienced. Now that I have moved to a more local clinic, I still called on them when my dog had a big injury this past fall as I trust their expertise. I am grateful for all they have done for our pup, even in training him to be less reactive during vet visits. It was such a help!

Negative experience: First impressions were positive, however after a complex issue with our dog the entire process became stressful and we ended up going around in circles with no conclusion from the team. The most frustrating thing about it all was this continuous need to "test" resulting in a rather hefty bill that in the end, yielded NO results and NO action. The most frustrating part about it all - we ended up taking our dog to another doctor for a second opinion. The other clinic was able to completely solve the issue within one visit and we're happy to say our dog is now thriving. We don't understand why our explanations of the problems were just met with a constant need of "throwing more money" at the issue to provide more data. When clearly the symptoms were visible and apparent. There needs to be a bit more of a practical approach in cases like these and to be more attentive to what your customers are telling you.

Fantastic experience: I totally recommend highway 24 they have been there for me and my fur babies for many years. They have helped me with a pregnant dog and her baby( Rav and rizzo). And were very compassionate and caring when the time came to send my dear Charlie to heaven. And just this week we had to send Bella to play with Charlie. Our puppy loves this clinic, and they have been so helpful with every emergency situation even calling back to do follow-ups on your pet's well-being. Fantastic experience: My cat has now had 2 dental surgeries at highway 24 vet, I can’t say enough about how incredible her care has been each time. Dr. Dana took the time to call me in the middle of surgery yesterday to fill me in on how Mali was doing and to update me on all of her findings. She truly went the extra mile to ensure that Mali was taking care of at the highest standard and also to ease my mind! Mali is already back to her normal self and I am so happy that we found this vet for her!

Fantastic experience: Oakley and Jeffery (both 90lb Shepherds), went for the first time together today. We have used this veterinarian for the past 15 years. I once again their staff and doctors were amazing. The dogs were not made to feel nervous and settled and followed commands almost immediately. The knowledge and compassion of every staff member at this facility is unmatched in the region. I highly recommend and will be lifelong client. 10+/10
