Fantastic experience: I was recieved by friendly staff and felt welcomed. I was looking for a clinic that was smaller and would not have a revolving door of staff. Dr Magyar was great with Wilson and his demeanor and conversation made me very comfortable with my decision to come to Close Veterinary. Thank you to all. In the photo....Where's Wilson??

Negative experience: Consulted on dental work for my dog and had her scheduled. Apparently, due to faulty equipment is was called to retrieve my girl. Presented with yet another invoice and told to maybe reschedule. No appreciation for the undue hardship and aggravation, time away from work, the early morning drop off, the weeks of waiting. I have experienced care like this in the past, luckily this time it didn't have the same grave result. I will be seeking a more professional experienced vet to perform the procedure. Sorry to have to take the time out of my day to write this, but I hope I save someone else from a bad experience. They didn't even acknowledge my presence at pick jup time, left me standing there like I didn't exist, the, the audacity to wish me a nice day after causing my schedule and work to be compromised. Not nice, not smart.

Fantastic experience: I had to delete my last 5 star review to add this one but it needs to be said. I have been with Close Vet Clinic for years now. They have taken care of all three of my rescues. On Friday my dog started showing signs that something was wrong. He’s my oldest dog and I knew he was already likely on borrowed time (although acted as if he were still a young pup). The nurses got me an appointment right away and got me into a private room with him right away. They made sure that me and my dog were comfortable. Dr Appleton and the nurses tended to my dog promptly and only did the required tests to find out what was going on. Dr Appleton and her team were amazingly quick and were able to find out that my poor boy had a mass that was unsustainable with life. It was at this point I chose to say goodbye to my best friend so that he could find peace. Although this was one of the saddest days of my life, I have never felt more supported. The love and care that all of the nurses and doctor Appleton provided was unworldly. I was able to FaceTime my family so they could also be with him till the end. They made sure we were comfortable and felt safe. I had never felt so at peace and safe by any Vetrinary service other than this one. They not only ensured that my dog was seen as quickly as possible, they were able to give something to me that can be missed by others. They gave my dog a dignifiable death. For that, I will forever be so grateful. They took something so painful and turned it into something that could be remembered as beautiful and memorializing. Thank you so much to the team at close vet clinic. I will forever be with you guys as a client with all of my animals. And thank you For giving me and my family the kind of peace that only a loving care team could provide. We love and cherish you all so much. We know how much buddy loved you all as well. Fantastic experience: Good morning, I wanted to write words of gratitude to Dr. Gabor Magyar for a very successful operation on our cat. He carefully conducted an examination, prescribed effective treatment and our cat Sonya quickly and well underwent rehabilitation and after a month there are no signs of surgery. The Doctor treats animals very carefully and lovingly. I advise everyone to visit this doctor with their pets. We'll only go to him. The best doctor! I also want to mention that all the girls who work with animals are very responsive and do everything so that animals experience as little stress as possible in the clinic. Thank you for your work!

Positive experience: We have taken all our furbabies to Close Veterinary Clinic from the time D. Bob was on Trussler Road. We've literally had our wee girl there (she was very senior), every month for probably a year and a half for her librela injections which were recommended for her mobility. These did give her back her mobility & we so appreciate. Unfortunately, the last 6 months or so she had some other 'senior dog' issues crop up and sadly we did have to make the decision to say goodbye :( after a sudden health event at home. It was after hours and had to take her to an emergency vet clinic. We thank them immensely for their triage, their honesty, compassion & frankness with the decision we sadly had to make. I'll miss the staff at Close and the way our wee girl would automatically jump on the scale and 'prance' back for her monthly injections, I am though, thankful that all the poking and prodding she had to endure as a senior of late is no more. Thank you for many years of veterinary services for our Hershey, Suki and Marilyn 'Monroe'. I’m sure Dr. Bob welcomed her with some treats

Fantastic experience: Close Vet Clinic has been our home for over 12 Years. We couldn’t imagine taking our dogs anywhere else. The staff are fantastic and Dr. Magyar runs a meticulous clinic. We come in from Cambridge just because of how wonderful the care is.

Fantastic experience: I visited Close Veterinary Clinic with Petey to assess his quality of life and make choices going forward. Everyone as usual was absolutely wonderful . Dr.Brown was honest6 and did not try to talk me into any unnecessary procedures . She was kind enough to work with me to make Petey comfortable and that means more to me than anything. I recommend Close Veterinary Clinic to anyone who wants the peace of mind and excellent care of their beloved pets.

Negative experience: I’ve had several disappointing experiences at Close Veterinary, and unfortunately, I can no longer recommend them. One of the ongoing issues is how the vets interact with animals. The doctors typically don’t try to build any bond with your pet. Instead of approaching the animal with care or taking time to make them feel comfortable, they tend to handle everything through the owner which only increases stress for the pet. On several visits, I found myself having to physically hold and calm my dog just to get through basic check-ups. That level of anxiety shouldn’t be normal at a veterinary clinic. The final straw was a recent visit when my dog developed seasonal allergies. We saw Dr. Meaghan, who prescribed Zenrelia for 30 days and briefly mentioned that giving it alongside his upcoming vaccinations was “risky,” but said it should be okay because he’s otherwise healthy. What’s especially concerning is that they already knew his vaccination appointment was scheduled for the following week it was booked with them. Even more troubling, our dog receives the oral Bordetella vaccine, which contains a live, active virus. Combining Zenrelia which can suppress immune function with a live vaccine like Bordetella poses a serious health risk. That should have been an obvious red flag for any responsible veterinarian. She also described Zenrelia as being in a “trial stage” and more expensive which felt more like a sales pitch than responsible medical advice. When we got home, we did our own research and confirmed with another vet that this combination can be dangerous, even fatal in some cases. We immediately changed clinics. Our new vet prescribed a safer, more appropriate treatment that relieved his itching — without putting his health at risk. Sadly, this wasn’t the first time Close Veterinary made questionable decisions that cost us more money or put our dog at risk. To them, he might just be another routine patient but to us, he’s our little angel, a beloved part of our family. Our dog isn’t just a number or a name on a chart; he’s our whole world. He deserves better. Every pet does.

Fantastic experience: Close veterinary clinic was suggested to me by a friend. I switched my pets over to them. They made the process super easy to do. I’ve always found them to give such kind, compassionate and thorough care not only to my fur babies but to the parents as well. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: Very attentive and patient with all of my “new mommy” questions. Very thorough in answering. Very thorough in offering up information that I would not know to ask. Had to call back 3 times for different questions that would pop up and was NEVER made to feel like I was being a pain. Phone staff are very professional, knowledgeable and kind, which in my case is extremely appreciated as I have very little knowledge and no experience. Fantastic experience: I've recommended Close Vet to many of my friends and family members in the area. In the past at different clinics, I found the staff seemed to care more about the money they were earning than they cared about my animals and Close Vet has been the complete opposite. The vets at Close have always explained what they think the issue may be based on what the results/symptoms are, what the treatment options are and what they feel is urgent/necessary vs. what can be considered if first steps are ineffective. They try to opt for the least invasive methods of treatment to prioritize the comfort and health of my pets! I will continue to recommend this clinic to anyone looking for a vet for their fur babies, I appreciate this incredible team so much!!

Fantastic experience: I’ve been bringing all three of my pets to Close Vet Clinic, and I can’t say enough good things about the care we’ve received. The entire team has been amazing — compassionate, thorough, and professional every step of the way. Last year, my cat Lynx needed a broken tooth extracted, and they handled it with such gentleness and expertise. This week, Marcel, my other cat, had to undergo emergency surgery for a GI obstruction — a scary situation, but the staff communicated clearly and acted quickly, ultimately saving his life. They layed out all the options every step of the way + also this week, Jam Jar, my pupp dog, had a scheduled visit with a neuter, hernia repair, and a teeth extraction. They took excellent care of him, and both of them are home recovering ❤️‍ The clinic is clean and welcoming, the front desk team is ALWAYS friendly and organized, and the vets and techs take the time to answer all my questions and genuinely care about each pet’s well-being. Fantastic experience: When you're looking for a veterinarian clinic you don't need to look any further than here. I have been using Bob Close and his veterinary clinic for decades. Unfortunately Bob is no longer with us but the people that he left his practice with have kept with the image that Bob had. They are very empathetic and easy to deal with. My two dogs and two cats have always been kept healthy by their care and I will continue to utilize their professional service.

Fantastic experience: This vets is a bit out of the way for me but it is well worth the drive. I probably pass 10 to 15 different vets on my drive to Close Vet Clinic but my animals deserve it. The vets is always very clean. The receptionist are always happy to see you and have always been able to answer any questions I have.

Fantastic experience: I was recommended this clinic by a dear friend and although I couldn't take my cat to his appointment myself, I knew he was in the most capable and friendliest hands. The staff were so kind and patient with my cat and did an excellent job at communicating with my sister who took him to his appointment. The staff also responded immediately as I tried to book his first appointment and set up his file. Everyone felt welcomed there and we will continue to see our friendly doctors for a long time.

Fantastic experience: Everyone is always so kind and both my dogs (whom never liked our previous vet) will actually take treats from the staff and like to get pets from them hah. Both being rescues, they’re skittish/reactive around men they don’t know and big dogs. The team is always accommodating and understanding and lets us scoot right into a room and ensures no big dogs are around when we have to come in. Love it here!

Fantastic experience: I was very hesitant to find a new vet but needed one with evening hours given my work hours and long commute. I decided to try Close Vet because they had evening hours and the entire office is fear free certified. I am extremely happy with the care my dog received and his overall experience from the wait room staff to the exam. The vet was so friendly and knowledgeable, and I could tell sincerely cared about the well-being of my dog. I feel very good about the plan going forward for his hips.

Negative experience: My first review in ~10 years. When Dr.Close sold the business, I noticed two things right away:the new owner got rid of the adorable in-house front desk cats and increased all fees (pre-pandemic!). Otherwise, I didn't mind going here, it was very convenient. In December 2024, when my 6 lb teacup chihuahua was ☆Sreaming and in pain, the earliest they told me they can see him was 1:30 p.m! Thats how they chose to prioritize my suffering baby...He deserved much more. Good luck to you and your pets♡

Fantastic experience: My family has been going here for a long time! This was my childhood dogs vet, and now my pups vet. Today, we brought my 10.5 week old puppy in after a tumble he took. I called and was booked in right away. Upon arrival staff was so friendly and warm. Dr. Appleton was so wonderful with my pup Murphy, and took her time to check him over and explain everything to me. We will never go anywhere else, and I will forever recommend them to family and friends!

Fantastic experience: The people at this clinic are very compassionate. When it was time to say goodbye to my old boy, they let me bring my girl and be present for it so that she wouldn't be confused or upset when I returned home without him. This was at a time when other clinics still weren't letting people in the building with their pets due to covid. I am eternally grateful that they made that experience as pleasant as it could be.

Fantastic experience: I am so happy we found Close Vet Clinic. Our 3 year old Duke has been coming here since 8 weeks old but has always been fearful and anxious. This year for his annual visit, we thought we would have to sedate him but the staff offered to do his exam outside on the lawn. They brought out a blanket and water bowl for him. They were so calm and gentle with him trying different techniques to make him comfortable. They took him on a short walk to distract him during parts of the exam. It means the world to me that he was treated kindly and not just told he is too aggressive or a bad dog. No one was frustrated by his fear. In the end they were able to do everything necessary to keep him healthy for the next year without sedation. I am so grateful to all your staff for your care and compassion to all animals.

Negative experience: Easily double the cost of other vets. We never went back after being told that our cat would need lots of tests and thousands in treatment. Went to a small vet office and he cured our cat for under $200 .

Fantastic experience: This was the first time my large(overweight ) 11 year old cat has been to a vet and no one had judged me for not bringing him in sooner. The vet asked me a few questions to clarify his symptoms and history. Asked me what my concerns were so she understood exactly why I was at the vet all before examining my cat. She was very patient with my very skittish cat making sure to have me there to help calm him. She even trimmed his nails while there. While and after examining him she explained what she was finding all her concerns and recommendations. She also let me know what anything would cost before proceeding with it. The only time I was not with my cat was while he was getting X-rays done and during which he got his rabies shot. Overall an amazing experience. Highly recommend. Thank you everyone at close veterinary clinic for making mine and my cats first experience a pleasant one.

Fantastic experience: The receptionist was friendly with my puppy and patient with him when she noticed that he was hesitant to come into the clinic. Both the receptionist and Dr. Brown took the time to answer my questions and provided an explanation of the vaccines and the results of the checkup. This is my first experience with a vet clinic (and with a puppy) and I can't compare, but overall I was delighted with it.

Fantastic experience: Professional, kind, and caring service. Veterinary services are expensive in general, but the prices here were some of the best in the area. Free phone consults for clients are very helpful. Discussing our pets symptoms to determine if an examination is the best course of action BEFORE spending hundreds is exceptional value, and gives the impression that the business/staff cares. The staff is excellent at determining the severity of symptoms and pointing clients in the right direction. Pricey, yes. But they all are. Value is above other vets. 5/5 would recommend!

Fantastic experience: After I moved to the city, I searched for a lot of vet. I think I found the right one. They care like their own and always give suggestions. They always have multiple suggestions and I get the option to pick that better suits me. I will recommend this clinic to everyone.

Fantastic experience: Dr Brown was and is amazing. She took the time to speak with me and calm any concerns I had about my aging cat. Fantastic experience: The care I get at this vet is always above and beyond. I’ve dealt with every vet in the practice and they are all wonderful, but I take my cats to Dr. Brown and she’s always so amazing with them. I actually used to go to a different vet but took my foster kittens to this clinic as they work closely with the rescue I volunteer for, and I was so happy with the care/pricing and the evening and weekend availability that I decided to switch over and bring all of my cats here. The staff and receptionists are always so polite and friendly and remember me and my pets by name. Truly an amazing atmosphere, they take the fear free practice very seriously to make it as calm as possible for the pets, and it’s always extremely clean and inviting.

Fantastic experience: We've been taking our two dogs and cat here for a couple of years now. This week our cat needed life saving emergency care and even though we called them on our way, they were ready and waiting for us as soon as we arrived. Not only did their quick and effective care save his life, they were incredibly supportive throughout the experience. Could not recommend this clinic more.

Fantastic experience: The staff is very friendly and genuinely interested in your pet.....their habits, your concerns and any issues. Dr. Brown DVM was very thorough with her examination and took the time to explain her concerns and findings. Dr. Brown also advised if immediate action should be taken. Negative experience: Just received the worst treatment by front end staff that I've ever received at a veterinary clinic. Clearly their emphasis is not animal care first and foremost.Staff was rude again and began the typical ignorance towards us that weve recieved on countless other visits. One of the staff tried to help but was repeatedly interrupted by rude receptionist on a power trip. They will no longer receive our business. Fantastic experience: I love how friendly the staff are here and how they personally get to know both me and my dog. As she is now a senior, her vet needs have increased and they fit us in same day with appts/prescription refills if needed or I can just call with my concerns and get answers right away. I feel like my dog gets first class service and gets spoiled with all the treats and love she receives from them. I would recommend this vet place to anyone!

Positive experience: I moved to this clinic in 2022 as it was one of the few that allowed me to attend my appointments with pups while others continued to restrict this. Some staff are very friendly and helpful, one or two that I've interacted with seemed very stand offish and clipped with their communication. My pups are seniors and I am careful and involved in their care and the few negatives have coloured the positives unfortunately.

Fantastic experience: Took my new kitten here for his first vet visit. Since I’ve never had a kitten before and since we didn’t have a lot of background on him I was a little worried. They offered (didn’t force) bloodwork for additional background. Being something that would give us peace of mind we went for it. The entire visit was great. Supper friendly staff that clearly care about your pet. Made us feel great about the type of care! Not to mention we are very happy to have extra confirmation that we have a happy healthy kitten. Fantastic experience: 10/10 Recommend Close Vet to anyone! The Doctors and Vet Techs are some of the most pure, compassionate and lovely people. They truly care for your pet as if it was their own. Our precious Bear has had a laundry list of medical problems and the staff have just been absolutely incredible. At no point did we feel pressure to accept certain treatment. We were always given options and always felt like they supported our decisions. They took my 101 calls, asking questions and needing clarification on things, happily and never made me feel like I was an inconvenience. Our pup loved seeing them all because all the staff at Close have the warmest souls and you can see and hear their passion for the work they do. They are all very knowledgeable and make sure your pets quality of life is number 1. We unfortunately had to say goodbye to Bear this past weekend and we were so thankful to have them all by our side as well as our Bear Bear. We can not thank Close Vet enough for everything they did. Truly an team of Angels.

Fantastic experience: Amazing staff. They were very attentive and seemed to genuinely care about my dogs health. I didn't feel like they looked at me with money signs in their eyes like some of the other vets we've been to.

Fantastic experience: I was recommended by my sister to take my 11 week old kitten Ginny to Close for her follow up vaccination, and I was very pleased with the service! The staff are super friendly and knowledgeable! Her vaccination and exam with Dr. Gabor was a breeze! The prices are very fair, and she loved all the treats and pets that she got! Fantastic experience: The vet we dealt with a long with the staff at this clinic are wonderful. They were so kind and gentle with our cat. There was no wait to get in, they took us in right away. Great service and the wonderful staff made this visit very easy and painless for our cat and ourselves.

Fantastic experience: Got great service from Dr. Gabor he assessed the issue with my cat quickly and professionally, my cat has to get expensive tooth surgery but I was glad he was able to handle my cat Cola really well. Although the clinic is very far for me to go seeing as I do not drive, I have friends to take me there thankfully. I stuck with this clinic because they deal with Pet Patrol cats which is where I got Cola from. Of course Cola was very scared and unsure cause he is an indoor cat and is still a bit feral. The clinic provided me with financing options I could use. Pay Bright, also Dr. Gabor provided Cola with meds to keep him a little more comfortable and pain free for now until I can pay for Cola surgery.
