Expérience fantastique: Incredible. The staff are kind caring, empathetic and considerate. The vet listened and was engaged. My dog was properly diagnosed with home care instructions clearly explained then emailed to me. We didn’t feel rushed. Even the decor was relaxing and relevant… I also have a lot of love for the receptionist: she is a great woman with a big heart. If I win the 6/49 she’s getting a portion ;)

They are undeniably the reason for, not only preserving her eyesight, but also, because Dr, Ollivier is simply a genius in his field, they have greatly augmented her quality of life by breaking the chronic cycle of back to back eosinophilic keratitis she suffered from. I can never be thankful enough that we have such an amazing team right here in Montreal.

We were referred to this clinic by our vet for an emergency ocular issue and it was a great experience from the very first appointment. Staff (special mention to Elizabeth) and the technicians are all friendly, courteous and empathetic and Dr Boutin is amazing — gentle and caring to the animal and courteous and informative to the owner. It makes one feel good to be explained in comforting detail what is happening to your pet and the measures that need to be taken — all in everyday language that one can understand and be able to make an informed decision. Another plus is that their costs, at least for my budget, are very reasonable, though thankfully my pet did not require surgery. Their follow-up care is equally excellent, monitoring at reasonable intervals to ensure proper healing and next steps. Thank you Dr Boutin and team!

Expérience fantastique: We came to this clinic during an incredibly difficult time. Our cat had a severe eye infection and inflammation that deteriorated within a few days. We genuinely feared he had lost his sight. On top of that, it was during the holidays, which made everything more stressful and costly. From the very first moment we walked in, we felt welcomed, cared for, and supported. The clinic is clearly designed to make both pets and owners feel at ease. The space is extremely clean, with nice music playing and full of thoughtful, heartwarming touches such as funny eye exam chart in the rooms, your pet’s name displayed at the entrance, holiday decorations, cookies, chocolate and hot beverages available. Just little details that truly make you smile and help soften even the hardest news. The receptionist is simply amazing: warm, kind, inviting, and very clear. She is impressively good at what she does. Honestly, the entire team is incredibly genuine, understanding, attentive and works with you through any challenges you may face. They take the time to counsel you and they also take part of the post-visit treatment, not just the appointment itself. You can tell that everyone there truly cares and loves animals and that they’re happy to come to work. Dr. Olivier is one of a kind. His kindness, humor, and calm demeanour will immediately ease your stress. Even when delivering difficult news, he somehow made us feel hopeful. His way with both pets and people is exceptional. Thank you for taking your time with us, thank you for your little sketches to help us better understand and for explaining every step so clearly. Everyone at the clinic takes their time to explain what’s going on and makes sure you truly understand your pet’s condition and treatment options. They are also very aware of the realities of veterinary costs and do their best to accommodate, by even answering questions via email to avoid unnecessary clinic visits. They were there for us during a very difficult period, and for that we are deeply grateful. I 100% recommend this clinic for any eye issues your pet may experience.

Expérience fantastique: Our local vet diagnosed a potential eye problem with our cat and suggested we contact these great folks. Very knowledgeable, impressive testing and analysis from kind, friendly people and reassuring to understand the best and worst case scenarios. I appreciated the staged follow-ups - sending pictures every 2 months with a return in 6 months unless the photos I send indicated the need to return sooner. Look no further as this is a very caring, great place! Thank you! Update on November 12, 2025 - our cat required surgery - Dr. Franck Ollivier and his team were beyond wonderful. They talked me though everything, answered any and all questions with patience and kindness, and showed me the surgical setup which I found very reassuring. They texted me throughout the surgery to keep me advised and for this cat Dad, I could not have asked for a more qualified, caring team of people. If I could give them 100 stars instead of the max of 5, I would. Look no further - when it comes to your pets and their eyes - I can't imagine a better place to be. My complements again to Dr.Ollivier and his team - including the front staff as well.

It’s just wonderful. The atmosphere is also very relaxing and it makes you feel you are not at a vet clinic. They even have chocolate chip cookies!!!

He explained everything in detail and immediately put me at ease. My cat had been followed by my vet but was unable to treat her properly. I now see the light at the end of the tunnel. We walked in very stressed because the cat's eye was full of blood and because the previous vet was extremely rude to us. From the aesthetic of the clinic to service, everything was clean, on time, professional,you name it. The vet and technician took the time to answer all of our questions and calmed us down when we discovered that our cat became blind, essentially over night. They were so kind, compassionate, and professional. The moment we book the appointment, to walking through the doors, to speaking with ALL of the staff, everything was 11/10. The lady at the front desk was truly a breath of fresh air, she made us feel comfortable and even made us laugh when we were feeling down. My dog suffers social anxiety and this makes me nervous as well . Buddy needed surgery to remove a mass growing on his eyelid . I love my dog like he’s my own child . We met with Dr Olivier and a team of technicians who went over the procedure and guided us step by step. With pictures during the day of the surgery , allowed me to be with my fur baby even though I could not be there physically . I have made numerous calls following the procedure with questions on medication etc and the staff were always quick and happy to call me back to reassure me. Expérience fantastique: Had to wait to get an appointment but went really well. Difficult parking, so give yourself some time to drive around. Staff were super friendly and my dog loved them. This is a teaching practice so we did the examination twice. Not a lot of fun for my pet but again... super friendly staff made the experience good. Very conscious of cost and discussed pricing of services before doing. All communication was followed by email so no papers to carry.

Expérience positive: Very good doctor. Super honest, knowledgeable amd cares for animals. He will give you his HONEST opinion and not the opinion that will benefit him ($$$$). The only reason I have 4☆s is because it was very very pricey. Cost me over $400 for a consultation, a test and eye drops. The appointment was also delayed. Waited almost an hour more than the scheduled appointment before seeing the doctor and had to wait in the car in the winter. Otherwise, very good clinic.

My dog can be VERY difficult, and they were able to get everything done with no muzzle and he had a very positive experience. I would HIGHLY recommend this establishment to everyone 2023: fantastic service, took time and patience to make sure my dogs felt very comfortable and at ease.

Expérience fantastique: Before our visit to Ophalmo, we were devastated when, in the space of a week, our beloved GSD, Lexi, went blind. Our vet had prescribed eye drops to treat a bad eye infection, but the root cause turned out to be scratches on the cornea of both eyes, which had become infected, clouding her eyes and obscuring her vision. Thankfully, the team at Ophtalmo were able to diagnose the problem and prescribe a course of treatment which should lead to recovery. Subsequent follow-ups led to a diagnosis of Pansus, a genetic eye condition common to German Shepherds, requiring on-going treatment. We have been very pleased with the treatment we've received and feel that are in extremely competent hands. Thank-you, Team Ophtalmo!

The Ophthalmo team gave specialized care for months, but our guy’s conditioned rapidly declined, and he survived only months. As far as I know, it was an untreatable syndrome. We thanked Drs. Ollivier, Boutin, Molly. for the care provided.

Our cat had an eye injury and we were worried that the eye could not be saved, but after a month of intensive treatment under the supervision of Dr. Olivier, the eye recovered perfectly. The service is efficient, compassionate and respectful .Helpful instructions and protocol are emailed in advance of appointment.Dr. Ollivier is a prince, charming and makes you feel reassured . Thankfully he is not an advocate of unneccessary and expensive further treatment and medication. I found Dr/Dre Boutin Marie-Pier through the recommendation of the pet doctor, and the doctor explained it patiently. The cat's eye problem was perfectly cured with continuous medication for two weeks, thanks a lot to Dr/Dre Boutin Marie-Pier, she is a very professional doctor, and I am very grateful to Clinique vétérinaire d'ophtalmologie here Every employee!

Expérience fantastique: My 17 year old cat, Baby Girl, severely scratched both corneas. We took her to the Anjou veterinarian hospital, on December 31st, 2018, where we were advised to make an urgent appointment here. We were seen on Jan., 8th. The experience here was AMAZING, to say the least. The receptionist is so very warm and welcoming. We didn't wait long to see Dr. Franck Olivier, who after doing some tests, explained to us, in full detail, what the results were. He prescribed antibiotic drops, ointment, lube and morphine, in the hopes of having to avoid surgery for her. We scheduled a follow-up for today, January 25th at 9am. I'm very pleased that her right eye's completely healed. Treatment will continue for her left eye & we're to see him again in 3 month's time to re-evaluate. I'm must say, that his assistant and the nurses are as patient and caring as the Doctor himself. They've shown more care and compassion to my cat, than I've seen given to humans...which says a lot, about this Doctor and his team! I would recommend Dr.Olivier and his wonderful team, in a heartbeat, anytime!! THANK YOU!!

I do not say this lightly, but this clinic has been outstanding, not only due to their care for the animal, but also for the support they give to the owners. Background: My pet has an eye condition that could either be a tumor (with a chance of metastasis) or a benign growth. In these cases, there is no "right choice" but it boils down to an expert opinion, who can make the most educated guess: Whether to remove the eye, or let the growth alone. I am happy that I am under Dr. Olivier's hands when taking this decision. It is hard emotionally, and you want world-class expertise, a pair of ears, and emotional support.This is what you will find with Dr. Olivier and his staff. The last thing you will want is to deal with a dismissive veterinary, or with unfriendly staff, when your animal is facing a difficult health prospect.
