Fantastic experience: We moved here from Calgary and some family recommended wascana vet hospital!!! A very calming environment, clean, friendly staff and the vet was very knowledgeable and amazing with my dogs. My 10 year old s Dog had surgery last week and they even sent an email checking in to see how she was doing before the weekend! Over the top service and we are so happy we are with Wascana Vet!!!

Fantastic experience: Our cat was having pain and mewling and they got him in within a few hours. With the covid outbreak they came right out to our car and when the vet saw him she did a phone consult. When my cat was ready to come home they called had written out instructions as well and were able to take payment over the phone and give him his medication. Great experIence!

Fantastic experience: I feel safe knowing that these people know just about everything there is to know about animals especially about my sphynx cat. I’m never worried about Fishbones health in their care because they themselves have had sphynx at one point so they are experts. As well as with other animals and breeds.

Fantastic experience: Lincoln is extremely anxious and nervous as he moves from a rural dog experience to a city dog experience. The staff at Wascana were so gentle, friendly and kind , at the same time professional and knowledgeable. I am happy that he will be taken care of by these people.

Fantastic experience: I have been very happy with the care Winnie has received at WAH. She is a very anxious girly and they have done a superb job catering to her needs and doing their best to make her as comfortable as possible. Additionally, I love the detailed report cards I get after every single visit - it makes me very assured she is getting thoroughly looked after. I love their app and how I can use it to communicate with reception - it came in handy when I was able to send over a picture of Winnie's skin tag I wasnt sure about and they let me know there was no immediate need for an appointment, unless I wanted to. The only thing I will say, is it is a pricier clinic, so if that's what's most important to you, they maybe aren't the right for you. However, I do think the attention to detail and care is worth the price. They are a smaller clinic and able to provide a level of personable service I've never received elsewhere. Here's a picture of her laying down and calm in the car - only possible because the dose of anxiety meds Dr.Ulmer put her on has been PERFECT for those stressful car rides.

Negative experience: We've been Wascana customers for a long time and it pains me to say this, but the constant push for additional services, vaccines, checkups, bloodwork has gotten bad. And ALL of this costs money of course. I've noticed that every visit I've had over the last two year, nothing cost less than $250 for even the most basic of services and they disguise it all behind "taking the best care of your pets". Compared to other clinics they are BY FAR the most expensive, and it isn't even close. Perhaps they cater to a higher end clientele but if you want to save money don't go here. Just such an expensive, money hungry clinic.

Fantastic experience: Best Animal Hospital ever!!! Dr.Ulmer and Dr.Potts care so much about your pets. They make sure you and your pets are comfortable with everything at all times. The entire team is exceptional.

Fantastic experience: Amazing service, very clean and welcoming environment. I was very happy to get in to this clinic as I have been very unhappy with our previous one. The vet was very thorough and explained everything. Receptionist was also very friendly and competent .

Negative experience: I’m ok with the office helping and being compassionate but also be honest if an animal Is 18 plus years old I don’t agree in constantly giving hope to a person that this animal can and will live longer. Instead explain that it is getting closer to an animal death and give ways and support for an individual to accept this instead of sucking out every last penny of a persons income til they are in serious debt

Fantastic experience: With my dog injured, I was still able to be fitted in, though Dr Ulmer used her lunch hour to do this. My usual vet office told me they were booked and to look elsewhere (after being a client of theirs for 25 years). Sansa was taken care of, and her procedure done, even though Wascana Animal Hospital was fully booked as well. Thank you Dr Ulmer and her staff for the time you took to help Sansa. She and her 2 brothers are now your clients.

Negative experience: $361 to get a $50 dollar euthanasia shot. Ridiculous

Negative experience: I was advised I could bring my dog as a client and to have the current vet send the his file. Weeks later I happened to adopt a cat from a rescue group and planned to send his paperwork as requested. But the following day their receptionist called to say they would not accept us as clients, a reason. So, it's not because full. Can't unders6how it could be personal they're doctors!? In response to your response that I was rude to your employee, that's an actual lie because I did not get to communicate with your staff because you dropped me before I had any communication other than respectfully setting up an appointment. Why would anyone be rude when they require medical attention for their beloved pet? And the 5 years prior you mentioned must have been for a gerible and there never any negative communication with us you must have confused with someone else or like I mentioned before its a lie.I have never had a rude or negative attitude to any vet or vet staff.

Fantastic experience: First visit was a little intense (Bear-Bear not a fan of vets) second was different. The staff and vets were very friendly and put us and the dog at ease. He marched in the door, went straight to the scale and sat down the off to the exam room for shots and tickles. Had an issue with a hip and an infected ear. XLNT care and both healed. Recommend them!!

Negative experience: Wouldn’t recommend. Requires advance payment and if life happens resulting in you being a little late, they cancel your appointment and keep the money. Might be their “policy”, but it’s not a good or reasonable one.

Fantastic experience: Took our 13 month old long coat German shepherd for an appointment, with a new vet. They treated him great and he was really good with Dr.Ulner. We have going to Wascana for years, we love it there and so do our dogs.

Fantastic experience: The vets, techs and front end staff are all so kind and caring. They treat our boys, Otto and Rocco like their own. Last fall Otto had to have a lump removed from his eye. Dr. Potts did an amazing job, pre-op explained everything and calmed my nerves as best he could, and checked in to see how Otto was doing once he was home. Personally called me when lab results were in to give me the good news, all was good. This personal touch was appreciated more than words can convey. Thank you so much WAH!!

Fantastic experience: I love Wascana Animal Hospital. I feel that they really do care about my dog and have his best interest in mind. When I go my puppy fixed, I was very nervous about how he was healing and they answered all questions I had over email and over the phone. They even let me bring him in for a quick check up. I also love that this clinic is fear free. My puppy is always nervous when he goes to the vet, but Dr. Potts always takes his time and lets Waylon warm up to him. All of the vets and the Vet Techs are so nice. I would recommend this vet clinic to anyone!

Fantastic experience: Dr Stewart made us feel right at home, as well as the reception staff and even the other pet parents through the waiting room. On our way after the appointment, we were also given an information and resources package for raising our new kitten, in case we needed it, and were assured of all the support they would offer if at all needed. Such a great first impression all around.

Fantastic experience: My dog is almost two and I’ve gotten everything she’s needed at Wascana Animal Hospital. All the staff are super kind and helpful. Whenever my dog has had procedures or medication, they follow up to make sure it’s going well. I recently messaged them to ask about my dog eating something she shouldn’t have, and Taylor at the front the desk was very helpful. The next day, she even reached out to me to follow up and make sure my dog was doing ok! The front desk staff are always nice. The vets are also great and very helpful especially if you’re unsure of how to administer something your pet needs at home. All the staff show they really care about animals. Their app is also very handy and makes ordering medication and booking appointments really fast and easy.

Fantastic experience: As always Dr Stewart and staff are amazing, our girl had her annual vaccine and as anxious as she was Dr. Stewart was super gently and sweet with her. She loves seeing Dr. Stewart. Thank you for always making our visit feel safe and comfortable.

They are so good there that our dog just walks in like she owns the place and isn’t afraid even after she hs had surgery there. They always take the best care of our furbabies! Negative experience: Useless, rude staff. Absolutely disgusted! I highly, highly recommend not going to this place. Find a different clinic, unless you want to be treated like garbage. No this is totally accurate! You guys wanted to charge $700 to euthanize my 15 year old dog and then was told hey we can’t even get you in. I’m glad you guys care so much (not). And distasteful is the way we were treated trying to get our suffering dog put down! Our family has 9 animals that come and see you but not anymore!

Fantastic experience: My partner is an RVT, so to say she has high standards for vet care kind of goes without saying. We have been taking all of our cats here and have been incredibly well taken care of. Dr Ulmer is great at what she does. She recently did some tooth extractions for my youngest cat. They were up front about the costs, and asked for permission beforehand if the time it took would be longer (he ended up needing four teeth extracted, as opposed to the one we thought). Vet techs and front counter are also very kind and helpful. Couldn't imagine going anywhere else in the city. Truly extraordinary vet care!

Fantastic experience: We have been with this clinic for over 15 years. Our fur babies (mini golden & mini labradoodle digs) always go to see Dr Potts or Dr Ulmer and wow they are both so very passionate, loving and thorough with our babies as if they were their own. Both Dr’s take the time to explain any issues and always take extra time to answer any questions - they are outstanding. Dr Potts took the time out of his day to follow up with us by telephone every other day to see how our dog was doing and feeling when our fur baby wasn’t well. This extra personal attempt makes this clinic top notch and definitely someone who represents passion for his patients and clinic and I highly recommend anyone to this clinic.

Fantastic experience: Our dog, Rio, has been under the care of Wascana Animal Hospital since February, and the experience has been exceptional. The entire team, from the front desk to the vet techs and vets like Dr. Ulmer and Dr. Stewart, have been amazing. Rio can be quite timid and had many tummy issues come up over the months, but they always know how to ease his nerves and provide excellent care. Both Dr. Ulmer and Dr. Stewart are exceptional, taking the time to explain things clearly and showing a genuine concern for Rio's well-being. Their dedication is further showcased through convenient communication using their mobile app, where they will send follow-up messages after appointments. Recently, when Rio's groomer identified an issue, the clinic displayed professionalism by initially assessing the situation through photos via the app, ensuring the best course of action before advising a visit. It's evident they prioritize the pet's health over financial gain, which is a rare and comforting trait. Thank you to everyone at Wascana Animal Hospital for your genuine care and commitment to our furry family members. I highly recommend entrusting your pet's health to this exceptional team.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Stewart was wonderful with my french bulldog Bon Bon. The two vet techs that I had were great as well. The administrative/clerical staff are extremely polite, helpful and respectful. This is by far the best vet clinic I have ever been too. Bon Bon doesnt even shiver going into the clinic, and she is a high anxiety dog. That says something.

Fantastic experience: 50 out of 5 stars. These are the most caring people. So sincere and considerate. Knowledgeable and real. Every dog I take there are never scared or nervous. They can examine and give shots without scarring or hurting them. Absoluting amazing. Highly recommend to anyone that has a pet. I received a sympathy card after Dozer passed of old age, signed by the entire staff. That means the world because he was the best dog. Dozer was afraid of his own shadow but was at home here. My new puppy will never see a different vet clinic. Also, in my experience, availability for appointments is never inconvenient. Thank you all for everything!

Negative experience: Today I brought my 16 year old cat in for a blood test for a prescription renewal. It is a very difficult visit as my cat is old and does not travel well in a vehicle. Today was a very emotional day besides, the vet visit. When I arrived, I was crying because I hate to see my cat in this condition. He was full of feces and stressed. This is routine when we travel in a car which is only to the vet once a year. The technician I dealt with had no compassion. She spoke very sternly to me, and when I answered back, she told me that if I didn’t change my attitude, I could take my cat and leave. So for my cat’s sake I kept my mouth shut and sat on the bench and cried. I have never been treated so disrespected and humiliated in a professional establishment in my life. I was not given an opportunity to talk to a veterinarian about this whole situation. I just paid a bill and left.

Fantastic experience: Last Monday our dog was having Seizures and a bad eye infection. I calld Wascana Animal Hosital @ 9:00 A.M. and thay got him in immediately... The vet called us to explained, the examination all his medications. We picked Mugs And a few days later the vet. Called too see how Muggs was doing. The seizure meds were reduced a little and he is doing well ... We will refill the Eye drops as his Eye hasn't cleared up yet.... Thank You to the front line staff and Dr. E POTTS. WE ARE GREATFUL for your qick responce to our wonderful senior Pup. (16 years young) Thanks again Linda, John and Muggs.

Fantastic experience: We have entrusted the care of our 12 year old puggle, 11 year old rescue cat and 2.5 year old frug to Dr. Ulmer and Dr. Potts since they took over the business. Recently our 12 year old had to have an eye removed due to a growth that we were aware of and were monitoring. Not only did they get her in quickly to assess and deal with the situation, but I was consulted with by Dr. Ulmer herself, who took the time to lay out our options for care/treatment. The eye was removed and I'm pretty sure Dr. Ulmer has the steadiest hand in all the land because my girl's eye has healed so well and looks like a permanent wink now. The entire staff care about our pets and make sure they are given the best possible care, I couldn't ask for a better veterinary team to entrust with my most precious commodities.

Fantastic experience: I have been dealing with Wascana Animal Hospital for many years.I have always had multiple cats and now added a large dog to the family. It is so nice to be addressed by name when I go to the office. All the doctors are great. Dr. STEWART has been so loving toward all my fur babies. If I have any concerns or questions I never hesitate to call.

Fantastic experience: Upon rescuing my furry "Princess" we came to see the doggy-doctor at Wascana to get her checked out. She loved all the attention & affection. Princess got her shots & an examination by a lovely veterinarian. Since then, we've returned for boarding services which Princess loves. We call it going to the "doggy spa". Trust is important when placing our fur babies at Wascana Animal Hospital & I'm so happy to say we both trust (and Love) the people & facility there. Woof! Woof!

Fantastic experience: We’ve taken our dog Bailey to Wascana Animal Hospital multiple times and it has always been a wonderful experience. The staff is always so welcoming and knowledgeable and they really try to make the experience as stress free on the animal as possible. We recently took our dog in to be spayed and they did a wonderful job. They thoroughly went over after care with me and even followed up a week later to check on her to see how her recovery is going.

Fantastic experience: The Veterinarians here are professional and always have the patients best interest first. I have never had any issues with any of the staff members or owners. I have to question these negative reviews that say differently. Is it some people that feel entitled and have not gotten their way, so they jump to negative reviews trying to tarnish an outstanding reputation!! I think so!! Don’t let these bullies affect you Wascana Animal Hospital you guys rock!!

Negative experience: Just had a horrible experience with the staff here. Not only the front desk but the veterinary staff as well. Took my kitten in for free exam around 3 weeks ago, was told that it would be more effective ( but not necessary, the Dr. had told me she could do the shots that day) if I came back in in 2 weeks to get the booster for rabies shot. Again, was not necessary to come back as vet stated it “ would be more effective, but we could do it today as well!” I, understanding this as we would only come back in for the follow up shot, took the option and booked another appointment for the booster. We took him in yesterday for the shot, and was also charged a kitten exam. We were NOT ever informed that there would be a kitten exam charge, as it was suggested I come back for the second shot NOT mandatory. I was not informed the day I booked that it is “a legal requirement” for them to do a check- up when a cat comes in. When I later called to inquire about this, since we were not informed about the extra fee for the kitten exam that our kitten did not need as he was healthy, I was met with unpleasant staff and a disgusting experience. Upon speaking to Dr. Ulmer, she completely dismissed my concerns and said “ there always seems to be a problem with you people”, she was incredibly rude and told us to take our animals elsewhere, which is exactly what we will be doing. Don’t recommend this veterinarian clinic, as it is not the first time they have not told me or my family members about charges, and not the first time we have been met with unpleasant attitudes. Pretty sad to see for my family and I who have been clients here for over 10 years.

Negative experience: Got my kitten which I just adopted from the humane society taken for its 1st shot at wascana animal hospital with a free check up (regular $98) that comes with the adoption fee. The doctor tells me my cat is healthy and I can get his 2nd shot now or wait 3 weeks for more effectiveness. So of course I wait the 3 weeks but instead of a 2nd shot which costed $30 she also charges me for a check up ($98) which I did not ask for or was ever told about. This check up included weighing my kitten and maybe 1 minute looking at his ears and pupils with a flashlight while asking me a couple questions. Had no idea I would be paying extra for that when my cat literally just got a check up done. Zero transparency and zero accountability when I call back. First review I’ve ever made. I expect vets to be expensive but not to rip you off.

Fantastic experience: Good vet clinic. Dr Ulmer and Dr Potts are very good at what they do and really care for your pets.

Fantastic experience: We've been taking our dogs to the Wascana Animal Hospital for 25 years sad to say we lost 3 dogs due to sickness the staff is very compassionate caring polite helpful people who go above and beyond their means to help we still go to them any time we with our existing dog

Negative experience: Call to get my 12 year old cat with a leaky eye, we just moved here from BC and got TOLD could see without previous medical records and not be seen for a week. She had never been sick a day in her life. I could call a vet back home and be seen within ours. I thought health first, not here, TERRIBLE PRACTICES
