Albert North Veterinary Clinic

Positive experience: I have been with this clinic for 18+ years and this last trip with my dog has left a extremely bad impression that I am for the first time thinking about switching clinics. I came in there to have my dogs ear drained which was a pain to deal with the first time around costing close to $600. After it was all resolved not a year later the other ear ends up having the EXACT same problem. My vet ended up going home sick the day I camr in and I ended up with Tracy, who talked over me and was trying to look at other things like her legs and skin, which I am fully aware of her rashes from being SUPER sensitive to the extreme cold winters. All I wanted the second time around was to have the same drain put in as the last ear since now we knew what the problem was, but she suggested we dose my dog to put a drain in when she did fine the first time. When I asked her if she looked at her file from last time, I got a snarky "yes, I looked at her file" and that's all. She ended up taking her and putting a needle catheter tub in and not the drain with the cap like the previous ear had(the needle catheter fell out two hours after the appointment). A week later(today) I had to come back to see the vet I previously saw(Rayna) the first time, to have the drain that was used on the other ear put in properly and pay AGAIN, when I told tracy I don't want to have to come back to pay for something we already knew the answer to because of it happening before, in the same spot. When I got home today, the wrapping fell off already so I had to go and buy my own wrapping and do it properly for it to stay on. For how much this clinics prices are, this shouldn't be happening. For being loyal to this clinic this whole situation felt like a slap in the face when it has been usually pretty good. I will pay when the quality of care is good but when this could have been avoided that's when it becomes a problem, this is extremely disappointing. I know people can be hard to deal with in any healthcare setting(I know because of experience), but I know and i'm sure you do too that listening is crucial when it comes to any form of healthcare and civil conversations are important. Thank you Rayna for putting the proper drain in, I do appreciate it, you give great care, and I appreciate your skills and ability to listen .

Negative experience: I had a very disappointing experience at Animal Clinic of Regina. I brought my non-aggressive dog in for a simple ear cleaning, but staff repeatedly pushed medication and sedation that I did not want. Even after I clearly refused, I continued to receive multiple calls trying to pressure me into agreeing. I asked if there was any history of aggression or biting that I was unaware of, and I was told there was not. Despite this, my concerns were ignored and my wishes for my dog’s care were not respected. The front desk staff were rude and unprofessional, and I was eventually told that I was not welcome back at the clinic. I also felt uncomfortable with personal beliefs being pushed onto clients. As a pet owner, I expect to be listened to and treated with respect. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here. Because of this, I have not returned and would not recommend this clinic.

Fantastic experience: I love this clinic. Their staff is so kind and our vet was incredibly patient - especially when dealing with scary situations. They really took their time with us and never once made us feel like we were being “sold to”. Genuinely incredible.

Fantastic experience: We were able to book a same day appointment for my medium size female dog! We had them run some blood tests and got a prescription. The price was reasonable and the vet was verry attentive and was able to explain in easy to understand terms. Thanks guys!

Fantastic experience: Dr Tracy is amazing. She sees my animals each appointment. The animals are great with her. This clinic has the most amazing staff in the city. I was running 15 mins behind the other day and they still held a room. I appreciated that a lot.

Fantastic experience: My parents dog was here visiting and ended up with blood coming from somewhere. Like most worried owners we called around and no one would see her ! Dr. Fisher was amazing and took us in. The Dr was thorough and took her time even though I’m sure she had a busy Friday! I want to thank the team here at North Albert vet clinic and especially to Dr.Fisher and the ladies that assisted her !! We really appreciate you guys !

Fantastic experience: Dr. Tracy Fisher was amazing with our little pooch and the whole experience was super smooth. There was no waiting in a room full of unknown pets. We were taken directly to the examination room, and when all was complete, the receptionist brought in the invoice and payment machine into the exam room so again, not having to struggle with an excited dog in the waiting area with other pets.

Fantastic experience: Very good and friendly staff, really short waiting time.

Negative experience: I believe the Alberta North Veterinary clinic is owned by Pet Strategy, a profit driven corporation. This corporation has been accused of increasing vet costs. I suspected something was wrong when I took our dog in for a urinary infection. We have delt with this a few times before. We needed a prescription. We got the prescription $800.00 later. I felt like I had just got robbed..

Positive experience: Very good vets but always a problem with availability. Phone no response except to leave a call back number. Appointments may be days and days away. I get the sense not enough staff or vets there. Too busy.

Fantastic experience: These wonderful, kind, compassionate, and very professional women helped my little old guy. Not only were they amazing to deal with they made time on short notice to help. I highly recommend this clinic.

Positive experience: My cat is a one person cat, she will not let anyone else get close to her. The Vet came in the room and picked up my cat no problem. They are absolutely wonderful, gentle and kind. I truly recommend!

Fantastic experience: My daughter found this clinic for our bearded dragon. He had a lump and they did his surgery as well as had it tested. It turned out to be cancer and they couldn't remove it all but let her know how to take care of him best in the final years. We went back a few months ago to put our beardie down. They were amazing and so gentle and kind. Our vet was willing to sit with him if he couldn't and the room was so calming. They weren't able to get his prints so did a cast of his hand instead. So incredibly thoughtful and I'm so appreciative. Thank you. ❤️

Negative experience: The person who answered the phone was rude and condescending. If that's how the person who answers the phones engages with potential clients then I can only imagine how the rest of the staff behaves!!! The lady who answered need some real customer service training as well as a class manners. Despicable. Wouldn't give them a dime with that treatment.

Fantastic experience: My much loved 14 year old chihuahua, Pikachu, became very sick last fall. After testing determined he had liver disease & end January diagnosed him with leukemia They put him on prednisone & other meds which gave my boy a wonderful additional 4 months of high quality life that meant the world to me. My dog passed away a few days ago when leukemia was very advanced. I can't say enough about the loving, supportive care by Dr's Broberg & Fisher. Staff was always helpful & kind. Highly recommend this clinic.

Fantastic experience: Our dog had an injury to her leg and couldn’t get into our regular vet clinic. We were overall very pleased with our experience at Albert North! The receptionist we spoke to was kind and helpful. Dr, Liebe was gentle and sweet with our dog. She took great care of our old girl! Dr. Liebe personally phoned us the next day to check in our in dog. I highly recommend this clinic! ♥️

Negative experience: The staff at this clinic were impatient. The vet had poor manners with my dog, which made him anxious. Would not trust leaving my dog there alone. Have since been going to Animal Clinic of Regina where we feel very welcomed.

Fantastic experience: Every phone call with the front desk is extremely pleasant. I used to hate calling the vet and now that I’ve switched I hang up smiling be cause they’re so sweet. They are very helpful in keeping the bill as low as possible and amazing with quick service. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS VET!

Negative experience: If your pet is going in for any kind of medical procedure, make sure you get the quoted price IN WRITING !! Dropped off my dog at Albert North Veterinary Clinic for what I was told to be approximately a $370 procedure. When he was picked up the new price was $975. When I questioned Albert North Veterinary Clinic about the price jump I got a “Oh, there must have been a communication mix-up.” After I complained they knocked off another $150 so it was only double the price instead of 2 1/2 times the originally quoted price. Albert North has looked after 4 of my pets for years and the doctors are great but they lost my trust and my business today.

Negative experience: I am upset over the way my pet's remains were handled, shoved in the mail like a letter. I specifically told them I wanted her feathers and wing impressions to be picked up at the vet clinic (which I happily wouldve done), and mentioned that Canada Post is not reliable and I've received damaged packages from Canada Post. Like, badly damaged, so I didnt trust them with such a delicate package. Then you put my pet's feathers and wing impressions in the mail! After going into lengthy detail about why I would rather pick them up... When I called to ask about them and why hadn't I received them yet, I was just told there was not even any tracking on the package, and nothing more you can do! On top of all that, I didn't even get an apology, just a lot of dead silence on the phone from you. You were cold and uncaring. I was also kept on hold for more than 10 minutes. This is a disgusting way to treat a pet, and a real disrespectful thing to do to me and my pet. It's almost been a month since she passed away and I still don't have her feathers or wing impressions that I asked for. I paid over $300 to have her cremated. Can you be any more insensitive? Maybe don't work with animals if you're going to disregard them like that? I'll gladly drive to Lumsden from now on. They treated my chinchilla with much more dignity in his death than you treated my bird in hers.

Fantastic experience: Very very accommodating when my GSP was cut very bad hunting. Did what they could to get him in! The front desk staff every time I have been there has been very friendly and easy to talk too even when it’s busy and phones are flying off the hook. The vets are always pleasant and knowledgable and help out the best they can.

Negative experience: I really like the people here but I sat in the examination room waiting for more than 50 minutes which is unacceptable Changed my review to 1 star. My cat is really sick today and they told me earliest they will see me is 3 days from now. Money grab bulk volume vet that only cares about earnings

Negative experience: The worst experience... I had an appointment with my cat,but I had a call a few hours before my appointment because the doctor was sick..So they rescheduled our appointment for the next week. I got a text and email the day before to confirm my appointment. When we came there, they said,that they booked me on the next day by mistake and they are very busy.. The lady asked the doctor if she can see us today .. They asked me to wait in the room and told me,that they try their best. After 1 hour waiting in the room, they apologized and said,that doctor is very busy today. It was just a planned vaccines..and 2 days off that I took for it. Unbelievable

Fantastic experience: The exotic vets here are wonderful with our rabbits. They handled a neuter for us as well as chronic sniffles. They always call to check up, and you can call to ask questions, and they get right back to you. As our rabbits become seniors, we keep taking them here for the great service and caring staff.

Fantastic experience: This team truly cares. I've been seeing them with my, very anxious, dog for years. They are honest and compassionate. Had an emergency visit for the first time and they immediately got him in and took care of him. You can just tell that they are pet/family centered. Thanks, team!

Fantastic experience: I use Albert North vet clinic specifically for my pocket pets (exotics). They have always been extremely accommodating and between either Dr. Broberg or Dr. Fisher, I am always able to have my pets seen within a very reasonable time frame. There are few clinics in Regina that accept pocket pet patients, so I am very grateful that Albert North has availability. Both doctors have good communication and I am never left questioning my pets care plan.

Fantastic experience: This clinic is wonderful. Earlier today we had to say goodbye to our exotic sugar gliders. The staff were so compassionate and calm. Incredibly understanding even through our tears, they were calm and helpful, they did so many amazing things to accommodate us aswell as make us feel comfortable. From having the room ready for us to go directly into instead of the waiting room, to scenario appropriate soft blankets on the table for our little loved ones. These wonderful people made this this incredibly difficult process so much easier. Gave us time to gather our thoughts and even gave my sister and I both ink “paw prints” of their little hands. I have nothing but respect and gratitude for the lovely group of staff that we encountered today. Their compassion and understanding is unmatched and could give the public health system some lessons. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all you guys do

Negative experience: Me and my dog will be taking our business elsewhere after nearly 4 years of loyalty. We used to trust they would only help with essential services, but now they are pill pushing and lacking consistency in communication. We used to be excited to visit but now we just prepare to be upsold.

Fantastic experience: Wonderful staff and the Dr. (I apologize, I didn't catch her name) was very patient and clear regarding all of the aftercare.

Negative experience: Unfortunately we had a “pedicure” and paid for it, to only have to take our dog to get his nails trimmed elsewhere the next day. Do not tell them your feelings on a service you paid for but not fulfilled by them, or you will be asked to leave. Poor customer service with poor services provided!

Fantastic experience: We had out pal Oliver the Golden Goldie neutered here last month. They were professional and helpful. We were very happy with everything and Oliver healed like a champion. Thanks again~

Fantastic experience: We’ve been going to Albert North for about 3-ish years now? This is easily one of the best vets in the city. The staff is very friendly and caring, with some even asking how my cat has been doing. The place is also very clean and well-kept. We buy our food here for our cats and love the points/rewards program! They also saved my cat’s life, and for that I am forever thankful. Keep up the great work Albert North.

Negative experience: I want to make it known to absolutely everyone to never ever attend this vet clinic!! We were so loyal to this vet clinic for years absolutely loved them!! We pay so much money into our insurance for our pets aswell. We have never ever changed our insurance program in, 2021 we went in paid a huge bill and they said they sent in this bill and we would receive our refund of our percentage we get in return. Then again we went in 2022, 3 times throughout the year paying thousands of dollars while paying our insurance so we could receive our percentage back. We had noticed that our money never came back and this had us wondering what was going on every time I called they said they would send it in and never did only find out when they did they were sending it to the wrong places after months of sending it to the right place so someone just decided to change our insurance and it was being sent to the wrong place. Our insurance has a policy that they will not refund us after 6 months this means we we’re out thousands of dollars. After speaking with our vet they admitted fault and said they would talk to our insurance company. Our insurance company said they couldn’t do anything because it’s not their fault it was the vet clinic’s fault they even admitted to it. When we asked for a refund or a credit they said no leaving us loyal customers out so much money and then having no remorse for what they did. They are irresponsible and don’t care about their customers. Don’t attend this clinic they will screw you over.

Negative experience: If I could give 0 stars I would. This place cost us over $1000 with their incompetence. My dog and cat have been coming here for years. But in this past year we have spent over $1000 in services. Luckily we have insurance to help cover the cost. So what happens was the front office told us their were send in our receipts with the vet signatures to our insurance company. Well we kept not getting reimbursed so we would call the insurance company and ask what’s going on. They would said they haven’t received it. So once again call the vet clinic got them to send it in. This was a problem the whole year. So one day we call and the guy at the front desk told us they have been sending it to the wrong email address. Even though every insurance claim they signed and sent away had the correct one on it. So they resent the claims in for. The pst year and that point they were to old and we would not be reimbursed. You would thing that since this Vet clinic admitted fault they would give us some kind of tab or reimburse us in some way. Nope just “ There’s nothing we can do”. Won’t ever be back

Fantastic experience: Shout out to the staff and Dr.Broberg for the quick response to our sick rabbit. They fit us in that day, diagnosed the problem, provided all medications. They even showed me how to administer one since we were 1 1/2 hour drive away. Lulu is fully recovered and performing zummies again Thank you

Fantastic experience: I have a very large dog, who is quite grumpy with anyone besides his family. The staff here have so much patience and understanding when dealing with him. They don’t judge him for being a big grump. He recently went in for his neuter, and again, they handled him so well. They did everything they could to make it a positive experience for him. They also called to check up on him a couple days after his surgery to see how he was doing. I greatly appreciate everything they’ve done for us in keeping our big boy healthy!

Fantastic experience: Of all the vets I've been to in the city, this is the best one, bar none. Staff and doctors legitimately care about your pets and their outcomes, despite always being so busy. Special shout-out to Dr. Broberg and Dr. Fisher for their kindness with our pets as well as with us. You will be VERY hard pressed to find a vet that puts as much time, effort, and care into their clients as North Albert Vet Clinic does.

Fantastic experience: 100% recommend this practise. Prior to visiting, we had attended 2 other clinics to figure out what was causing my dog issues. It was determined that he had an allergy but it was trial and error to figure out exactly what was causing it. I decided to bring my dog to Albert North after reading some reviews and information on the veterinarians at the practise. From the moment we called to book an appointment to the check out process, the staff was absolutely wonderful. Dr. Emily Boutilier is attentive and compassionate, and takes the time to chat and explain things to you. I am so glad we were able to meet her, so far the treatment recommended is working fantastically for my boy George. Again, the staff is great here. I definitely recommend this clinic!

Positive experience: Have been taking our Dog and 2 cats here for some time. Always great service, and they saved my cats life. The last couple times we have taken our dog in, the attending doctors have shown some serious fear of her, and they had to sedate her once, and last time they were able to do things without it, however the person that came into the room afterwards was too scared to even check her pulse. Sadly I will likely be looking to change vets for my pup atleast.

I have another vet clinic that is actually more convenient and closer to my house, but they they were never accommodating in my early years of pet ownership.

Fantastic experience: I recently had to put my fur baby to rest, it was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done, it still bothers me to this day but Albert north vet clinic really helped us out, it’s a difficult situation and task to be in but while we grieved in our pain the staff was incredible, so accommodating and understanding and most importantly…patient, they did not rush us in our difficult time, I really appreciated them even though it was a tough day, thank you again from the day our fur baby first meet you guys as she was a kitten to now a senior baby.

Fantastic experience: The team at Albert North Vet Clinic saved our dog’s life, diagnosing and treating a rare immune disease over the course of a year. We have since moved cities, but will always be thankful for the incredible care they provided our pup!

Negative experience: Not impressed at all with how we were dealt with when we put our 16 year old dog down. We have been coming to this clinic for along time and I cannot believe how painful they made it. We were put in a room with our dog and two girls(one seemed to be in training) came in to have us sign papers and pay. The girl that was doing the training was very cold and not sympathetic at all. As she she was leaving she said “sorry about your little friend”. That was it! She was terrible. The vet was some what kind but did not give us anytime to be with him before they put him down. The whole experience was tramatizing and horrible. It's a very hard thing to have to do as it is but this clinic left us feeling worse. We felt like they were busy and just pushed us out as fast as they could. It was absolutely horrible! I have a new clinic that a few other people recommended instead and we will never go back to this one. They were very unfeeling.

Positive experience: Told me some information about spay and neuter and suggested I wait a full year for my dog to be neutered. I think this is wrong. I searched for a vet that will neuter my dog at 4 months old.

Fantastic experience: What an amazing place. So compassionate. They were the only vet we contacted that were willing to help us with euthanising our girl who was in a lot of pain. Our regular vet said the would could schedule her 4 months out, others said they preferred not to do it if it was their patient. I was quite angry but then Albert North was amazing. As soon as we walked in they greeted us, showed compassion, understood where we were with our emotions and let us choose every thing that took place that morning without being rushed or wanting to interfere. I'm so happy they took the consideration to put our beloved pet as their first priority as no one wants their loved one suffering. Thank you Albert North. You've helped put our baby girl at rest and put us on a path of healing.

Fantastic experience: North Albert Vet Clinic is not just caring, compassionate, knowledgeable vets; their entire team falls under this umbrella. I trust the lives of our cats with them. This clinic will always be our family health providers when it comes to pets. I especially enjoy that they are AAHA accredited so I know my cats are getting accountable care.

Negative experience: Worst veterinary experience ever and only had a phone call to ask a simple question terrible service they can't tell you anything themselves if your like me and need an exotic vet please go to gardener park they took absolute beautiful care of me and gave me way more helpful info saved me a vet trip thru a phone call even im absolutely disgusted with Albert norths service representatives and there overal knowledge and care for their customers I would NEVER EVER take my pet here grateful I got this shifty phone call before they messed with my baby's

Fantastic experience: When faced with uncertainty, our pets needes have been meet in so many ways. From the Front Admin staff, to the Lab techs and finally the Vets. They are all dedicated to facing the adversity on the road ahead with you. Moving like water to find the path of least resistance for your pets that work. I have been fortunate to work with them since I adopted my senior dog Chili from The Pack Project Inc. 4 years ago, and I continue to be impressed with the level of care and attention I receive every time I make an appointment. The first notable experience is when I adopted Chili. The Vet would not give Chili the all-clear for adoption until I read and signed the vet records, indicating that I understood everything that she felt I needed to know prior to adoption. That speaks volumes about their care for Chili, and any adopted dog. During our first appointment, the Vet went through Chilis medical history point by point to make sure I didn't have any questions. She was kind, but wanted to be sure that I was a good fit for Chili and would give her the care that she needed. Next, when my husband and I moved in together, he came with our cat Rex who has IBS. During a particularly bad flare-up, we called the vet to make an appointment for an anti-nausea shot. Knowing Rex's condition and being unable to see us for a few days, instead of letting us wait at the expense of Rex's heath- they recommended we call the 24 HR Animal Care Centre so we could see a vet sooner. This, again, speaks volumes for their care as they put Rex's health ahead of their bottom line. The last notable appointment was when we lost Sophie, the senior cat we rescued only 3 months earlier. Sophie has gotten sick abruptly, and they were able to get us in the next day. The vet shared with us the hard reality that it was Sophies time, and her honesty cannot go unmentioned. She was kind and compassionate and gave us the time we needed to say goodbye. She ensured that Sophie would be cared for until she came home with us, and allowed us to send Sophie for cremation in her blanket. I can't imagine how hard it is for Vets to go through this as often as they do, but they took our grief kindly and without question. I don't know where they find such kind intelligent humans for their team. Regardless of why we are there, we are always treated with kindness and respect. I will always recommend this clinic with my whole heart, as they care for my pets with their whole heart.

Positive experience: My husband and I made a very difficult decision to bring our very beloved dog in over the weekend. They were extremely accommodating by fitting us in last minute; so this we appreciate.

Fantastic experience: Super friendly staff, and the place is very accommodating for all my fur babies (and exotics too!) whenever we have issues. And they explain everything very clearly so I always feel like I thoroughly understand what they're doing treatment-wise and why (unlike some vets that feel like they just add on tests to hike the bill). I always recommend this vet to anyone having pet issues.

Fantastic experience: They did an amazing job with my cats neuter. She healed so well, she’s been doing so much better since. The staff here are so friendly and courteous. Hopefully won’t have to go back soon but if I had to choose they would be my first choice.

Fantastic experience: I am so sorry for my last review. I got this clinic mixed up with Northgate Animal Clinic. Albert North Veterinary Clinic is the best most professional place I would ever take my pets to. Unfortunately I couldn't get in and had to go to Northgate Animal Clinic

They are wonderful to our puppy and really take care of him when he’s in for appointments. They take the time to discuss anything with you about your pet. They provide great service.
