Fantastic experience: Had a lovely experience with Dr Combate. Very patient, kind, and friendly veterinarian. I felt welcomed and understood. The text message on arrival is a bit strange. Spacious exam room, clean clinic. Would recommend.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been taking my dog to McLeod his whole life (6 years) and have no complaints at all. My dog is nervous with strangers and can be growly but the staff are all fantastic with him. He had to have major surgery and was diagnosed with IBD and Dr. Kellsey has been so helpful and compassionate throughout the whole process. Prices are very reasonable, and you can really tell that they put the pet’s needs first. Thank you for all you do!

Fantastic experience: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Exceptional care and compassion! I went to McLeod Veterinary Hospital yesterday for the first time to bring in my dog, Liam, for an ear infection. Liam is a tiny miniature pinscher with a big personality — super sweet when he has treats, but very hard to treat because he’ll bite if anyone goes near his face or paws. Dr. Jason saw us and was absolutely wonderful. He explained all the options to help Liam, and I mentioned that ear drops weren’t possible because Liam would never let me do it. Dr. Jason completely understood and took Liam to the back for treatment. I was honestly nervous because a previous vet couldn’t even muzzle him or check his ears — and still charged me $150. But 15 minutes later, Liam came back happy as ever — clean ears, nails trimmed, belly full of treats, and no sign of distress! Dr. Jason used an ear pack treatment, a one-time gel that sits deep in the ear and works its magic. It’s been amazing — Liam went from constantly scratching and yelping to totally comfortable and relaxed! The whole team at McLeod Vet Hospital was so kind, patient, and professional. I’m beyond happy and grateful for their care. Liam is happy too — and that means everything. ❤️

When things took a serious turn and we found out Pepe needed emergency spinal surgery, they didn’t just refer us — they fully prepared us and made sure we understood every step. What we’ve appreciated the most is how they always take their time with us during every visit. We never feel rushed. They answer every question, explain everything clearly, and truly make us feel like we’re being cared for, not just treated. They’ve followed up with us, checked in regularly, and treated Pepe like one of their own. Fantastic experience: Have been with Dr.Bob and Followed him when he opened up McLeod Vet. Hospital. They have looked after my fur and feathered babies over the years .Really take good care of me and my fur babies. Thank you to Jason and Allison . Some have retired and miss them but time moves on .

Negative experience: This clinic refused to allow us to have our dog get a simple rabies shot without a physical examination even though he had been under their care since he was a puppy. The manager suggested that it's practically a law to demand this examination. We found a clinic with one phone call that was happy to give him a rabies shot without an exam. Fantastic experience: Everyone is so friendly and helpful! We recently switched vets and are so happy with our switch - our dog is treated like a king here! Lick mats and treats galore to distract him during his appointments. Fair pricing too - highly recommend!!

Fantastic experience: Just spoke with Zoe/y on the phone and she was very educated on the ongoing changes from the CDC for bringing your dog across the US/Can border. She answered many of our questions in just one phone call and calmed our nerves. Additionally, she was even able to help me get a sooner appointment to vaccinate our dog in time for our trip as there was a visit cancellation. We have brought our dog here for years and have always had pleasant interactions with the vet techs, office staff and veterinarians - but this experience was so efficient that it stood out! Fantastic experience: The staff was very kind and thorough with my dog and the cost of the examination seemed reasonable compared to other vets like Alpine. My only comment is that my dog required antibiotics which they charged me 56 dollars for. They were out of stock so they refunded me and wrote me a free prescription, one that they usually charge people to write. That same 56 dollar prescription was 22 dollars at the pharmacy nearby.

Fantastic experience: I am so happy we found McLeod Veterinary Hospital. We decided to try this vet due to it being close to home and we are so happy we did! The staff are always so friendly and helpful and you can tell they all care so much about your pets. My cat had dental surgery here and the staff and Veterinarian did a wonderful job helping me understand the procedure, cost, and risks and provided me with various options. The Veterinarian who performed the surgery was so kind and you can tell she is very knowledgeable and experienced. My cat had almost all of her teeth removed but has made a full recovery and is so much happier. Thank you McLeod Vet! :)

Fantastic experience: Doctor Kelsey was absolutely amazing. Very kind and put my mind at ease after my French bulldog had been in pain. I was visiting Winnipeg and it was refreshing to find a vet that seems like they care. Not a money grab either.

Fantastic experience: I really love Mcleod Vet. They helped our senior cat combat his 8 year long battle with megacolon constipation with a simple, cheap, solution that our previous vet didn't recommend. When he passed a few months ago at the ripe old age of 17, they were kind and compassionate even though we were not able to fit him in for an emergency appointment. I do find that it is tough to get our cats squeezed in for a last minute appointment during a crisis, but, that just means they're full up with people who love to bring their pets there. They always call to follow up after a visit. We love all of the veterinarians, but Dr Jason Kellsey is one of our favourites to bring our senior cats to. Pricing feels a bit steep sometimes but it was always worth it for the level of care our cats receive. I cannot recommend McLeod Vet enough.

Fantastic experience: I've been to many vets, and this is the best I've seen. I've seen horror stories of people bringing their animals to vets, and it set my anxieties high for my girls. But I have never once had an issue with this vet. I think the closest I had an issue with was over the pandemic it was incredibly difficult to get in. But, that was just the norm for everything. And it just went to show, how desirable this vet is. They remember all the pets I've brought in. They remember previous appointments they've had. And comment on their progress. I think the best review I can give is that my skittish cat, who hates everyone and everything that is not familiar, is obsessed with her vet, Dr. Bowles. When her vet walks in the room she is instantly calmed and starts actually liking her visit. So much so, that she's grumpy when we bring her home because she'd rather be with her vet. I've heard amazing stories from friends and family. The prices are honestly some of the best I've seen for the city. All around, amazing. My cats have had a better doctor than I have. We are sad to be moving away, for the sake of my girls.

Fantastic experience: Was there to pick up Nexgard to protect my buddy for our upcoming tick season. The staff is excellent.

Negative experience: Absolutely awful. We had gone to this vet since I was a young teen and they used to be good but have since gone down hill. I no longer live in Winnipeg so thankfully I no longer have to deal with the notoriously incompetent vets of Winnipeg. My dog Audrey was treated at this clinic before her passing and even had a regular prescription from them during Covid time. And guess what? Rather heartbreakingly, I lost my best friend Audrey last year. But this past month I finally felt ready to adopt another rescue and put down this clinic as one of the vets Audrey went to (during this application process the rescue organization i was going through will contact vets youve gone to in the past). And you will not believe it, they claim to have never treated Audrey?! How is that possible when they gave her regular prescriptions? With that said, it really reflects the amount of care and consideration they have for your fur babies. They are unorganized and careless.

Fantastic experience: I have been bringing my girl here for about 4 years now. Dr. K is the best. The staff is polite and accommodating in a case of emergency ( not really an emergency, just an over worried mom). But they empathize and try to get me in as soon as possible.

I have been taking all of my 5 pups to McLeod Clinic over the years and all of their staff has always been super compassionate and gentle with my furbabies. You trully feel that they care and they understand that your furbaby is more to you than just a pet. I've had nothing but great experience at this clinic and highly recommend their services.

Negative experience: This place is great generally speaking but Beware of ur pets veterinarian!!!!! I was blacklisted from adopting from any shelter because of a misunderstanding between my senior cats doctor and I (he doesn’t work Here anymore) reason being 8 years ago family and I went out of town and my parents forgot to flush the drain cleaner in the toilet, cat used to always drink from toilet bowl, and because of that they falsely pinned & blacklist me!!! Thanks guys! Never ever gonna bring any animal into this place! I highly suggest you don’t choose this establishment for you’re pets needs.

Fantastic experience: We have been talking our fur babies here for several years. They are extremely helpful and very patient. We have a bull terrier that gets aggressive in the puppy doctor office so he needs to be sedated. Dr K takes his time until I know Ras is ready. Our cat Izzy needed to be cleaned out 2 times now due to constipation, I did take her animal hosp on main which was the biggest mistake. He wanted to put my cat down but didnt tell me i found out from the vet tech with the estimate papers! Which put me into a spiral of emotions and tears. I knew what my cat needed and he was not listening to me just kept saying she will suffer. I paid that vet over $400 for him to slap a fentanyl patch on her tail and give her a tiny bit of fluids. I got my Izzy in the McLeod Vet the next day or 2 and Dr K knew what do and assured me Izzy would live a great many more years and is on medication for life. I completely trust this vet and all of the staff, they are all very patient, caring and knowledgeable! He was also very understanding of our financial situation and was very accommodating, which its rare to have a vet agree to do pymts! I will always recommend McLeod Vet. Izzy is still here and very healthy and happy she just turned 6 ...these are all of our fur babies ❤

Fantastic experience: Very friendly vets who aren’t trying to push extra stuff on you. They make helpful suggestions and when you decline something there is no argument or sales pitch so it feels genuine and honest in the type of care my vet recommends. They also practice prevention care which is a really nice thing to see as my last vet never did. So they will tell you basically how to avoid coming into the vet for more bills and procedures. It’s pretty quick in and out and I always felt listened too and given plenty of time to ask questions and feel respected here. If you are a new pet owner or looking for a new vet this is a great option.

Negative experience: My dog became sick and passed away early this year, but I still hold this vet clinic responsible for his death. I had sent this message to upper management with the hope that my words would be passed along to the assistant manager and the doctor who was taking care of my dog. As time has passed, I hope that they have been able to adjust or recognize/acknowledge their actions, but I feel it is still my responsibility to share my honest review of this clinic with the public. The assistant manager was off work and had responded to my email from home about my dog passing away. However, she addressed me by the wrong name, not once but twice. I ignored it the first time, but after the second time, I could not. It was completely, utterly insensitive. If workers are off duty, they should not be replying to emails, especially if they don’t have clients’ files on hand. I felt that this was very poor judgment of her to do this. It also sets a sort of precedent for other staff members to feel obligated to reply to emails when they’re off work. This should not ever be the case. The assistant manager had made a grave error; in time, I will forgive her, but I hope she was taken to task for this. The assistant manager tarnished my view of McLeod’s hospital management and competency. My hope is that she learned from her mistake and never does this again. Secondly, I was very disappointed and angry with the service received from the doctor in charge of my dog. I think her bedside manner needs some work, as she was always quite short with me and I had to ask numerous questions to understand some of her technical jargon. While I understand this job field primarily works with animals, working with and communicating with people should be a high priority as well. I had explicitly told the doctor that my dog was experiencing extreme lethargy, constant urination, breathing issues, and weakened hind legs. I was also never given a straight answer about what was truly wrong with him other than low blood platelet count. The doctor said all of his symptoms were because of the prednisone steroid he was given. While this may have been true, I did not appreciate how quickly she dismissed my concerns. Not to mention, I should have been told that a prolonged use of the prednisone steroid put my dog at risk for urinary tract and bladder infections; I had to learn this from the Bridgwater Vet. I trusted this doctor in providing the best care for my dog. I don’t believe she did and I am still angry with her. I truly believe his condition would not have escalated that far, had she done a better job. She should have paid attention to his increase of symptoms, stopped the prednisone in a more timely manner, and do a more thorough job of looking at his blood work. I primarily hold this doctor responsible for the death of my dog. Third and last, I did want to recognize the front of house staff and one of the better doctors (Dr.Capper) for their services in my two years of using this clinic. From them, I felt cared for and wish them all the best. I will not be bringing any future pets to this clinic as my experience with them, in the end, was completely unsatisfactory.

Fantastic experience: I won't go to another vet clinic, Dr Bob Newfield did both FHO surgeries on my cat Theodore and he recovered and healed so well you can't even tell. Dr Bowles has always been kind, compassionate and understanding. I'm very thankful for her and her expertise. Also the front desk staff is phenomenal, always kind and polite to deal with. Fantastic experience: Dr. Crump did my baby girl's spay. I was so happy with the surgery. Although she came home with bowel issues after the surgery, not sure if its related to the surgery but my Marley has a sensitive bowel, even the slightest interruption would cause an irritation. The staff and Dr. Crump seen Marley the last minute due to some bowel issues. They accommodated, reassured and looked after my Marley. They take their time to look after your pet and make sure to keep you updated. Dr. Crump even phoned me a few times to make sure she was okay. I am so happy that I switched to Mcleod Vet Hospital. Had a rough couple of days but Marley is on the road to recovery. Thank you Dr. Crump and all the lovely staff of Mcleod Vet Hospital!

Fantastic experience: Extremely understanding with your emotions and pocketbook. Have had some very difficult moments there recently and each time our lovely vet (Dr. Capper) has taken great care of us and our animals. You can really feel the love and care they have towards their job and the animals brought to them. Will never use a different vet. We have dealt with other staff/technicians and vets there as well and I have nothing but positive things to say!

Negative experience: Once upon a time I recommended this hospital to one and all. Not ever again. Many thousands of dollars later and two very important pets. I would suggest , you go anywhere else. I too was turned away- and sent across town to Bridgewater, because they were too busy 90 minutes before close- to do a blood sugar test for my cat- who was in absolute distress. He was suffering from low blood sugar and behaving in a way I have never seen before, and scared the life right out of me. You cannot schedule emergencies, and just the week before- I sat and waited in car with cat- an extra 45 minutes -for a regular appointment, without complaint- because someone had an emergency. What I learned is- don't have an emergency close to closing time, and don't expect any empathy. On my drive across town with what I thought was a dying cat- someone also had the nerve to call me because I had hung up on them- as I was driving- because I was not happy, and because I was driving. Imagine that- they were insulted, Anywhere, I implore you, go anywhere but here- You're only as good as your invoice.

Negative experience: I heard good about mcleod vet. One if my babies was sick this morning and I knew she had a fever again. I called this place upset and thought as cat was sick and, I mentioned I thought fever up, they would care and at least check her temperature. No way , i told to take to Bridgewater or pembina. I called plessis as I saw they were opened and they made room. I cannot give plessis vet enough stars for caring, but mcleod if only we could give 5 zeros. I've been at mcleod with my ferret and chinchilla. Never again will I ever go to that place and will highly recommend if someone looking for a place who puts an animal before a dollar, they are not the place to call. By the way , my little one had a fever of 40 point something. Shame on you guys , mcleod vet.

Fantastic experience: This vet has been life changing. I’ve always struggled with trust issues with vets in the past until I found this gem of a clinic in January 2021. Dr. Capper is the kindest human I’ve ever encountered with pet care. She goes above and beyond for me and my fur babies and I am forever grateful for this clinic and her support!
