Fantastic experience: Staff manage the front room/ waiting area well to reduce stress on both owners and pets. Extra time is taken with nervous pets, without sacrificing time for owner questions. Treatment options are discussed, including cost, various prescription, exercise and training. In the case of sick pets, quality of life is a very important factor. I drive across the city to use this clinic, it’s worth it.

Fantastic experience: Took amazing care of my cat Buttons while getting her teeth cleaned. At first they thought she needed potentially 4 teeth out but after the cleaning she needed no teeth removed! Was so happy and they just loved her up while she was recovering.

Fantastic experience: Great experience at Plessis Veterinary Hospital! After my cat Winnie ate toxic flowers, I was panicking and calling emergency vets. I was quoted over $2,000 just for him be hospitalized without treatment and couldn’t get clear answers about additional costs. I was devastated, feeling like I might have to choose between my pet and the costs of veterinary care. My husband called Plessis Vet to ask about availability and pricing. They were transparent about treatment costs and got Winnie in the same day, hospitalizing him right away. From the moment we arrived, everything was explained clearly. They answered all of my questions and provided an accurate estimate upfront. Their pricing was reasonable and transparent, which meant so much during such a stressful situation. When I picked Winnie up that evening, he was purring and kneading his blankets in his carrier. He’s usually very timid at the vet, but I’ve never seen him that calm or comfortable. He looked so much better than when I dropped him off. The staff were kind, compassionate, and professional. I truly felt they cared about my cat, not just the bill. We are so grateful and will absolutely be bringing our pets here from now on.

Negative experience: *Editing a previous review* Previous: I have been very happy with my services here with multiple pets. They don't try to push unnecessary treatments. The staff is kind and informative. Only complaint I would say was that they only allowed one person in the room for euthanasia, it just seems like there should be an exception there. Update: After a change of ownership (that they never advertised) suddenly I didn't recognize any of the vets. When my 15 year old cat got sick I brought him in 3 times in 3 weeks and dealt with a different vet every time. Dr. Schock was kind and thorough. Dr. Brar I felt tried to guilt me into unnecessary treatment (wanted me to hospitalize him for 2 days just to determine if his kidney issues were acute or chronic - when they were obviously acute because we had normal bloodwork from a few months prior). He had a kidney infection and when I brought him back because he was still nauseated and I wanted to adjust his meds Dr. Kamra didn't want to do any testing or even listen to what I had to say. I pushed for bloodwork and his kidney values had worsened. He just kept saying "I'm going to be honest with you" and telling me that there was nothing to be done and I should consider euthanasia. I had to tell him 3 times that I was not ready to consider that option at this time since he was still eating and had energy. I went to another vet a couple days later because that experience didn't sit right with me, they said that because his kidney values had improved then worsened again that likely the infection hadn't been completely cleared - we gave more antibiotics and his kidney values dropped significantly. The fact that he had an ongoing infection which was treatable but Dr. Kamra had completely given up on him was extremely disappointing. I am at a new vet now and will never return.

Fantastic experience: We went for or yearly check up and Rabies shot. Dr. Padda examined Phoebe and he was so good with her. He suggested that I start to brush her teeth, so I got the tooth past that was not expensive at all. He spoke very good English. Thank you Dr. Padda!

Positive experience: Care was good, I’ve rarely had issues with that. The price is outrageous though. The basic exam fee has gone up $20 in a year. 500 dollars for an exam bloodwork and some antibiotics is insane. Same type of visit with my other dog was just shy of $300 in the fall of 2024

Fantastic experience: We have been attending Plessis Vet since 2017 for all 4 of my pets! Owners have changed but quality care hasn’t changed! I noticed a lump in my cat’s ear and within an hour got in with Dr Schock. By Monday he was in for surgery with Dr Teerhuis. They did a great job with the surgery and keeping me updated along the way. No staff has ever seemed rushed, they are compassionate and take time to explain diagnoses. Honestly, we feel important and cared for at Plessis Vet. Vet tech Aidan was so patient and uplifting while giving us discharge instructions, and even gave a child-friendly explanation of what happened to the cat, and what my cat needs at home, to my 4 year old! We always feel safe and supported with Plessis Vet staff and will continue to recommend to our friends, and continue to use the clinic through our upcoming years of pet ownership.

Negative experience: The staff, both front desk and medical are great but their prices are ridiculous. I just paid over $500 for a check up and a blood test. It's a stretch for us but ultimately we can swing it. What about those folks who can't? Their basic consultation fee has doubled.

Fantastic experience: Brought in my fur baby yesterday as I was concerned about his health. Front door staff were super friendly and understanding that my cat is very shy and timid. Got into a room promptly and barely had to wait for the vet. They were very gentle with my baby, and walked me through the steps of testing and prices. Very quick results and luckily he is A+ health! The vet even showed me his blood work and X-rays. Little pricey, however, I think most places are now a days. Would feel comfortable bringing him back!

Fantastic experience: The staff is always friendly and helpful here. Being open 7 days a week is amazing as well. They never push you to do anything unnecessary to run up your bill and their pricing is reasonable to boot. My pets have seen a couple of different vets here and they've always been wonderful. Positive experience: He seemed like he was rushing, had a question about her gagging didn’t really get an answer on that except I had to buy anti nausea/ vomiting pills.But other then that everything else was great, they were gentle and patient with my sweet shy baby.

Negative experience: This was my first time dealing with this vet clinic to order prescription food online for my cat, and unfortunately it will be my last. When I picked up my order, I didn’t notice any issues with the bag until I removed the invoice at home. Only then did I see that the cat food bag had a cut in it, clearly looking like it came from a box cutter. I called the clinic the next day and spoke with a staff member, Sara, who told me there was nothing they could do and implied that I had caused the cut. She said she checked with the manager, whose solution was for me to buy a Tupperware container large enough to store the damaged bag, or to re-order the same product and wait another 2–3 business days. I was also told there was “no possible way” their staff could have caused the damage. This response was extremely disappointing. The lack of accountability and dismissive attitude toward a damaged product, especially one that’s prescription and not cheap reflects very poor customer service. I was subscribed to auto-renew for this food, but after this experience I will be taking my business elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: All doctors and veterinary technicians are absolutely amazing at PVH. All five of our dogs have been in their care for over five years and they have been nothing but the most supportive and fantastic people to deal with. From the puppy stage with our two new pups to the final days of our two pups that are no longer with us, we could not have had better care and empathy for our fur babies. After seeing many vets in the city of Winnipeg, we would not take our dogs anywhere else.

Fantastic experience: Have been going to Plessis Vet for almost 10 yrs now. They always have had time for emergencies, 7 days a week. The docs there are all excellent, good listeners and give your information/opinion on your own pet good weight and consideration. Their record keeping of your pets health history is fantastic. Our dog has Addison’s disease, she has required medication for this for over 4 years now, not cheap. They special order the dosages we need which saves us some money vs using what’s available off the shelf. She also is on a few supplements and vitamins, and they don’t give me a hard time that I shop for those on my own to save a few bucks where we can. When we lived out of town they didn’t mind I used a local vet for our dogs heartworm meds and regular check ups and shots, but relied on Plessis for issues where you needed their superior expertise and facility. It really doesn’t matter which doctor you see at this clinic, they all have access to your pets history, and if you get a new one, they consult the experienced ones. I have very high confidence in this clinic and their staff. Their admin staff is efficient and pleasant. Their vet techs are also pleasant and competent, and also have given me time when I ask questions. The clinic is comfortable, the wait times are almost non-existent, and you get results from blood work within an hour. If only our “human” medical system was run half this well… I don’t hand out reviews like this just because someone talked nice to us. This is from 10 yrs of observations and interactions. A top notch operation. When you see this kind of consistent service for this many years, this tells me the mgmnt prioritizes the patients, and takes care of their staff. There is always enough staff to handle the work load. It seems one of the few places that have maintained adequate staffing levels for both clients and staff to have positive interactions.

Fantastic experience: The staff and doctors here are not only incredibly professional, but genuinely kind, caring, and trustworthy. We’ve had two surgical procedures done for one of our cats, and both times, the care he’s received has been excellent. They kept us updated throughout the process and have never hesitated to call us right away when there were any concerns. It really helped ease our stress, knowing he has been in such good hands. Dr. Padda is amazing. He’s knowledgeable and calm, and you can tell he cares. He always takes the time to explain what’s going on and makes sure we feel comfortable with everything. Sadly, we took our oldest pup there for her last visit Dr. Padda was the most compassionate, caring, honest vet we could have had. Fantastic experience: The absolute best experience I’ve had with a vet clinic ever! My dog, Star, became very ill and I needed to get him to the vet ASAP. Our regular vet couldn’t get him in until the next day so I reached out to Plessis Vet and so glad I did! The assistants were super helpful and accommodating with appointment times. We were able to get him in within a couple of hours to see Dr. Gill. I’ve never had a vet who was so caring and thorough during an exam. Additionally, he took the time to explain everything in great detail and I felt so at ease knowing that Star was clearly in great hands. We were able to do diagnostics there in clinic and had the results and diagnosis within 25 minutes or so. The team also reached out to me first thing in the morning to check up on Star and were prepared to fit him into their busy schedule right away in case he needed further care. Fortunately, his meds kicked in quickly and he is feeling so much better already, which is a huge relief. Thank you so much to Dr. Gill and the Plessis Vet team for helping our sweet Star! Highly recommend them!

Fantastic experience: We received nothing but excellent care, compassion, patience and understanding in all of our pets care from every staff member we have ever dealt with at Plessis Veterinary Hospital. We have a dog that is difficult to deal with and the front staff work with me to get him into a room as fast as possible and the veterinary assistants and doctors do all they can to make the visit as pleasant as possible. We’ve had to say goodbye to one of our cats, such compassion. We have had a few different pets have surgery. We were thoroughly informed of the procedures and costs. The follow-up care afterwards was amazing as well. It’s definitely worth going to Plessis Vets! Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: Exactly what I hoped for! The staff was super friendly and made me feel really comfortable. Dr. Gill took his time explaining what was going on with my Patchi—he broke everything down detail by detail, and I really appreciated how patient and thorough he was. You can tell they truly care. Oh, and he always gives my dog a free nail clip, which is such a sweet touch. Little things like that go a long way!

Fantastic experience: Dr.Singh is a caring & patient vet. He pays attention to every little detail about the wellness of my dogs. One of my dogs does not enjoy being touched, hence vet visits are usually an ordeal, especially the physical exam. Dr.Singh doesn't let that phase him. He somehow gets the necessary things done, by being creative. I feel confident that my dogs are in very good hands, at the Plessis Vet Clinic. The front desk staff are always welcoming & helpful.

Fantastic experience: My daughter was there to say good bye to her chinnelle. She was approx 17 years. She was treated with respect and felt at peace after speaking to the vet. She had been there previously as support for a friend. This is why the return visit. Yesterday we received a card signed by all staff. We feel good about this veterinary.

Negative experience: I took my support dog to get her rabies shot and parvo, in April I also mentioned her ear was bothering her the vet at the time said "oh it's just wax" I was happy paid over 100 that day. Three months later my dog Bella continued to shake and got at her ear. Booked her in, appreciated the accommodations and help, to find out her ear was inflammaed, with yeast and bacteria! This could have been fixed when I had the money! To be charged 54 for another examination..after the first vet messed up, and to find that vet no longer worked there an was let go in April! I feel so frustrated! To have to pay 207! Broke this dog mom's heart. I'm thankful! She has medication now.

Fantastic experience: We are new puppy owners. My daughter and I have had a wonderful experience with Dr. Schock. She is absolutely amazing and so thorough and really takes the time to explain everything and answering all our questions. Fantastic experience: I had a very good experience this past Sunday. My dog Moxie was ill I thought that there were only 2 places open on a Sunday Bridgewater and Winnipeg animal emergency hospital. (I thought wrong) I went to Winnipeg animal emergency hospital on Pembina Hwy. Was told to call when I arrived. I called and they were collecting all her information when I said I have photos and more information to give to the vet when we get inside. I was told they would be coming to get her from the vehicle and I would not be allowed inside that is their rules for after hour emergencies. Well there is no way my dog is going to get treatment and be left alone without me meeting the vet and speaking face to face and being updated on what is going on with her. I then did a google search and found Plessis veterinary hospital was open. I called and I got a appointment. We were greeted by the friendly staff. Dr. Kamra was very thorough and kind. He explained some stuff to me about her condition that I was never told before. He did not perform any unnecessary tests and was very good explaining everything that was being done for her. She had to stay that day for a few hours then be brought back on Monday for the full day. All the staff were kind and compassionate during this stressful time. It is my understanding that this place is under the corporation and not independently owned (I may be wrong). I have been trying to avoid the corporation owned. My opinion has now changed on this matter. The pricing is no more expensive like people state it to be. I have even been to country vets as well. Years ago I believe this to be true but now a days I think pricing is pretty comparable no matter where you go. Anyway I highly recommend Plessis veterinary hospital. I was very pleased with the service provided and my dog is now feeling much better.

Negative experience: I’ll start off by saying that I have no issues with the care or the people here but I feel corporate polices have pushed the business to cash grabbing. I have 2 dogs and I wanted to have their parvo and dap vaccinations done at the same time to avoid going in every year to get a vaccination done and then be charged a “wellness” check. I was told that was not possible and it’s law to have a wellness check done within a year to have a vaccination, then I told them my one dog was still under the one year “rule” that was done by them and they still told me he need the wellness check then I told them he also had a complete check up and in-depth blood work from a different vet in January then they said it wasn’t done by them so they wouldn’t accept that. I called an independently owned clinic and had ZERO issues giving my dogs both parvo and dap at the same time, in fact when they give dogs vaccinations they give them both 3 year vaccines as standard practice. This will save me a few hundred dollars over 3 years compared to plessis vaccination policy. This has pushed me out of doing any further business with them.

Fantastic experience: I had never brought my Pomeranian there before. I usually go to another clinic closer to my house, but my dog had an emergency and my vet didn’t have time to see him. I was so grateful that they took my dog right away and ran all the tests and diagnosed the problem. I don’t know if he would be ok without them.

Negative experience: **** It has been one month since I made my review. The appointment for A that was kept, has died yesterday. **** Our hearts hurt so much. I mentioned in my review the lack of proper examination. It turned out Annika had a MASSIVE tumour in her stomach (that ruptured and started bleeding). No proper palpation or percussion was done. The vet also pushed for a dental, she would have most likely died on the table. Original review: I have no clue what happened to this vet office, although it has completely gone downhill. My mother and I have been brining our 2 dogs each for years, I have officially changed all 4 dogs to Sage Creek Vet (highly recommend). I had a 9am appointment last Friday. I legit cut the tip of my finger off in the morning (I would upload the photo, although I believe Google would remove). I did a courtesy call saying I’ll be a little late due to said situation and the lady on the phone said no worries see you soon. I mean 15 minutes late- not hours. Accidents happen. I received a call about 10 minutes later from (Kira?) stating I can no longer bring my dog in (our first dog appointment of the day) due to them not being aware that I was still coming. I explained that I legit JUST called 10 minutes prior about cutting myself. It sounded belittling to the way I was spoken too: “well ya, it’s not that I don’t believe you, although when someone does call stating their going to be late, we will ad it to the file and I see no notes”. I thought I maybe made a mistake on the vet I called, I doubled checked and confirmed I just spoke with someone. After speaking to the lady, I was upset as the professionalism lacked. I stated I will switch the dog’s vet. About 5 minutes later, she called back stating she spoke to the doctor and I can now bring my dog in, as her other appointment was early LOL. I declined. I had other appointments that day- I said to keep (A’s) appointment time and cancel the others. When I arrived at 12:15 for the 12:30 appointment they stated (A) was scheduled for 12 and can no longer be seen. I received a text the day before how (B’s) appointment was at 12, and (A’s) at 12:30. I also booked it this way so (A) would be last and I could take her for a bath! Clearly I wasn’t impressed or happy. Who would be. I had to deal with snotty behaviour while they “checked” if the doctor could still see her. The examination and vaccinations took maybe 10 minutes. The doctor looked in her eyes, ears, teeth, listened to heart, and quickly felt her over. A 3 minute examination for $90. My spouse and I both work healthcare just adding. Well if (A) was properly examined, the doctor would have mentioned the large dry patches on her elbows (missed). No joint movements were checked (senior dog). No palpation done to check if (A) was in pain anywhere. No mention about her teary eyes, or if a lubricant to keep eyes moist was available. I will stop there. Let’s mentioned (A) is extremely overweight and according to doctor it would take about 8-12 months to loose the weight. The mention of a dental was HIGHLY pushed. I had to mention (A) is 12, and extremely overweight as mentioned, that’s a death trap for anaesthesia. The doctor “apologized” in the room for earlier. Honestly, it didn’t seem sincere, just a “I should say this” type of thing. Maybe it was? $350 for $10 minutes. Wellness exam, 2 vaccines and 12 months of heart worm prevention. You decide if it’s worth it.
