Expérience négative: Very bad experience by the manager who understood and blamed grace who is new for making the mistake but understands why im upset and then threatened police after my phone died while speaking to forget her name and I called back because there was no options they were giving me ? And then me after me calling back to tey and find a solution of how to come in being upset they canceled my appointment 1 hour before when I made the appointment on Thursday and they didn't contact me Friday at all as they are closed on weekends and my appointment was monday at 1030 and took the morning off work to make it and they said due to privacy as my dog was at that vet back in 2019 under my step-dad name WHICH I DIVULGED TO THEM and when they called back i said i dont care which account my dog is under as long as he gets the services they can keept him under my stepdads name but emailed not my step dad mark they emailed someone named sophie. MAKE THAT MAKE SENSE that email isn't marks or his name . I guess they didnt want my money for a service which was just a vet check and shots after taking the whole day off of work. I guess everyone is a manager when you call as grace is a manager lmao . I have call recordings for the last 5 times called. Of a mistake they made and making it seem like my time is not valuable. Like what is the issue for me bringing MY DOG which I mentioned is registered under my name with the city of calgary . He is a family dog that I took from my step-dad who is older and cant give him the needed walks ect. I wanted to come to mcknight as our past 2 dogs went there for years and was put down at mcknight. After we adopted Lou as a puppy who went there before I TOLD THEM . Very poor experience take your animals elsewhere no wonder they have less then 4 stars on google . I give you - 1 stars . Update ** no you blamed me after and threatened police because I CALLED AND ASKED TO SPEAK TO A MANAGER . as grace said ahes the manager yet shes the 1 who made the mistake so really thats YOUR FAULT FOR NOT TRAINING CORRECTLY YOU are disorganized AND IF THATS THE PROTOCOL THEN SHE SHOULD HAVE KNOWN THAT WHEN SHE WAS IN SCHOOL OR.NOT HAVE CALLED ME BACK MAKING SURE NO MATTER WHAT MY APPOINTMENT WAS TAKEN CARE OF THE PRECIOUS BUISNESS DAY. Grace called me the same day i booked asking if they cant get a hold of my stepdad and transfer the file to my name I said ( you can leave it under his name i have call recordings as i use that for reasons like this i can send to someone if necessary. Its shots and money I AM PAYING THATS FINE ILL SPEND MONEY ELSEWHERE AS I DID . AT ANOTHER VET !!

Expérience fantastique: Dr. Hannah was my late cat Bella’s veterinarian at another clinic, and when I learned she had moved to McKnight Veterinary Hospital, I knew I needed to follow her. The care and compassion she showed my nearly 16 year old cat carried through seamlessly to the care she now provides my 14 month old kitten, Nosy. Dr. Hannah is the best veterinarian I have ever had. Her dedication, empathy, and genuine love for her patients are unmatched. She will continue to be my kitten’s vet, and I will also be transferring my 4 month old kitten's file to this clinic. The level of care I’ve experienced with her will never be topped, she truly is the best.

Expérience fantastique: I took my cat to McKnight Vet and the ladies at reception were so sweet and helpful, they got us in super quickly. The vet we saw was wonderful! He took the time to walk us through everything and explain it all clearly. The prices were also very reasonable. They really showed how much they care for animals during the time we were there. I’m so grateful for how kind and professional everyone was during such a stressful time.

Expérience fantastique: Brought my cat in for a check-up after he had a few days of GI upset. He thoroughly enjoyed his vet visit. The clinic had excellent availability and was able to get me in several days sooner than others in the area. Front staff were efficient and kind. Dr. Vanessa was patient and very good with my cat, who does not sit still for much. She took time to listen to my story and gave me her rationale for possible causes and next steps. Work-up options were provided and the cost was very reasonable.

Expérience fantastique: Mcknight is our new vet, and you won’t convince me to go elsewhere. Today my daughter had to put down her beloved soul cat. As most can understand, it was a horrible time for both her and our family. But thanks to McKnight it was way more bearable. From the moment we walked in with our Cali Cat, until we walked out the door without her, we received nothing but kind, and compassionate care. The time they took to get my daughter some fur, paw & Snoot prints, and write a beautiful card signed kindly by the staff. We were both blown away, and left leaving like we couldn’t have had a better experience, for such a sad occasion. Truly McKnight vet Thank You!!! I can’t even name a single person, because every single one of you were wonderful. I am eternally grateful you allowed us as much time with our sweet girl as we needed. McKnight Vet was the best choice we could have made, and we are grateful for them. So absolutely take your pets here!!!

Expérience négative: My daughter’s dog Odin suffered from an inability to relieve his bowels. We took him there. They never did anything to help him but burned through +$3000 of my daughter’s money including neutering the poor dog for no reason. The neutering did not go well and the poor animals testical sack swelled up to 4 times the normal size. We ended up putting him down at a clinic on 16th avenue. Avoid these evil people

We regret that despite our best efforts, his condition remained difficult to manage. Expérience fantastique: After trying several other vets in Calgary, McKnight is the only one that hasn’t let us down. We treat our dog like our kid, and this clinic treats him with the same level of care and respect. They listen to every concern, never dismiss anything, and are always kind and gentle. Our dog trusts them completely. He’s never anxious going in, and that says a lot. We’ve had nothing but consistent, compassionate care, and they’ve truly earned our trust. If you’re looking for a vet that actually cares, this is the one.

Expérience positive: A bit shocked to know that treatment from a dermatologist can not be pass on to the Vet, is there a limitation to what they can prescribe or ability to assess if the current medication from the dermatologist is working or not. If I go to a different clinic for ear infection and mentioned that at some point of time my dog has been prescribed a medication from dermatologist would they not be able to prescribe it or would they refer me back to the dermatologist because they dont have the ability or capacity to handle such case.

Expérience fantastique: I’ve had nothing but amazing experiences with everyone at this clinic. The staff are patient, kind, and explain everything clearly, which has really helped during some stressful visits. My pets have always been treated with gentle, thoughtful care, and I feel like the whole team truly cares. I’ve been in a few times recently, and while vet visits aren’t cheap, the pricing here has felt very fair—especially compared to emergency clinics. Expérience fantastique: The entire team at McKnight has been a blessing to our dog. They identified he had diabetes and have been a god send to Murphy in all of his care. He loves going to the vet and that speaks volumes!

Expérience fantastique: Best beef jerky in town! Oh wait... Wrong shop. There is NO beef jerky at this place and no matter how much you ask they won't get you any or lend you any. Ok so it's a vet. They did some amazing vet work on our animal. At one point we were like "wow you vets are doing amazing vet work on our animal," and they looked us all (there was 5 of us) and said "no prob brev!" And winked. It was sooooooo cool. Later we talked about it a lot.... How cool they are. Oh man. Awesome. Anyway gotta dash.

Expérience négative: If you read this please do not ever take your dog there! My friends just took their dog there, she was lost , out in the winter by herself, and when she was finally found she had a broken hip and a broken paw. BUT she was able to stand on her own and wag her tail. Well McKnight didn't even do an X ray on a dog that was just hit by a car because they said they were closing in 15 minutes!!!! So they had to go to a different vet with a dog that was injured! What a disgrace honestly..

Expérience fantastique: My big senior boy went in for emergency surgery and I am so thankfull for the doctor and her wonderful team. They took amazing care of him and were very comforting and professional. 1 1/2 month post surgery and he is doing so well and enjoying life. I am very grateful.

Explaining everything in detail and very up front and honest. The new Healthy Start Program is so well worth it, it doesn't leave you guessing on anything.

Expérience fantastique: I took my dog there to have a lump removed off its neck. The staff and the veterinarian were both very friendly and knowledgeable . I left with excellent instructions on how to treat the dog after surgery. I was very pleased with the way the dog and I were treated . I will definitely be going back in the future.

She’s amazing with animals and has such a welcoming and warm presence—she’s literally the reason my dog gets so excited to visit. Our veterinarian, Vanessa, is incredible! She is highly professional and knowledgeable, and her calming demeanor is so reassuring. I appreciate how dedicated she is to providing the best possible treatment for my dog, while also making sure he feels comfortable and not overwhelmed. Expérience fantastique: We have been bringing our pets to McKnight for years now and every single time they are patient, kind, they explain everything clearly and don’t cause us any extra anxiety in an already anxious time. We have had two cats have oral surgeries at McKnight and the staff are always extremely professional and kind. I have unfortunately experienced the opposite at other clinics so the atmosphere and professionalism at McKnight is deeply appreciated. We have also sadly had two cats who had end of life care at McKnight and I cannot stress enough how comforting they were in our time of sadness. Every single person we have interacted with at McKnight seems to genuinely care about animals and the owners and goes out of their way to ensure the visit is as smooth as possible. Expérience fantastique: We had taken our cat here because she got really sick right on Christmas eve. Luckily they were open and helped us, cat is fine now. Another occasion my co-workers hamster had passed away and we drove her here and they took care of all the arrangements.

The lady on the phone was very sweet and professional and answered all of my questions and concerns and handled my call with a great deal of compassion and care. She told me to call with any question any time and they will always answer for free!! I ended the conversation feeling valued and with all of the answers I needed I really truly appreciate the outstanding telephone service that I received today from this clinic. Expérience positive: Mcnight listened to my request to euthanize my best friend. He was 24 years old and was on on his 3rd UI and we were told if he had a 3rd ui he would have to have a (what I call a he/she op). I had seen the results of this op and was never going to let my cat go through it. I loved him so much. He had also lost his muscle mass. They let me hold him while he went for his final sleep. They where kind and patient with us. Then I checked my mail today and there was a card in my box the card was simple and beautiful, it also had Spunkies paw prints. I didn't expect this but I will always be greatful to the staff at Mcnight vet for this. K. Marwick

Expérience fantastique: A few months ago, I brought my cat in for an urgent assessment. I didn't realize that I had to make an appointment because they are a "veterinary hospital" but the receptionist went above and beyond and got us in first thing. It turned out that he had a severe urinary blockage. The vet administered some pain medicine, did some preliminary diagnostics and discussed options was us. Unfortunately, we had to make the very difficult decision of having to euthanize our cat (severity and other complications). I had my 5 year old with me at the time not anticipating that this was a possible scenario but all of the staff were very kind, empathetic and helped make the most of our situation. I have had a few other experiences with other vet clinics and despite this experience being a tough one, it was one that will stay with me. The vet was very thorough in discussing options for treatments and prices. She answered all of our questions and gave us time and space to make our decision. I felt like the total cost was very reasonable and felt reassured that we were not being taken advantage of (financially) during this tragic situation. I deeply appreciate the patience and understanding of the staff and we felt well cared for and got to hold and be with our kitty until the very end. Thank you for your kindness and compassion! You made a very challenging experience a little less difficult and we will be sure to entrust you with the care of our future furry friends.

Expérience fantastique: I came to McKnight vet hospital to get a second opinion for out Beautiful boy Bentley. Dr Vanessa was so amazing with him, and because of her knowledge and compassion Bentley is getting better. The whole experience was great, the lady that I initially spoke to when I phoned to see if they could see us in was also wonderful, and got us in within an hour! All the staff were so kind and compassionate and our family is so grateful.

Expérience fantastique: I've been bringing my dog to McKnight for close to 7 years now....to say they have always gone above and beyond for me and my dog is an understatement. During our last unfortunate event of having to bring my dog in to see them, Jessica was nothing short of amazing with us. All the staff we interacted with, including Dr. Vanessa, really made us feel like family. They're compassionate, understanding and incredibly helpful. Of course we would do what we need to for our kitters but we are also super low on funds. She had great suggestions and a plan. Ginger got fluids and anti-nausea medication and has fully recovered. I would definitely bring my cats back to this location ☺️

Expérience négative: Terrible experience, we have been going to this vet for the last 10 years and now they want us to find a new vet due to their malicious malpractice and money grabbing tactics. We already are coordinating a protest for June 22 and June 23 outside of their clinic, anyone is free to join. We will be pursuing a legal battle against these folks, i do not recommend you ever going here. Complaints have already been submitted to ABVMA due to their negligence, and incompetence. They want us to find a new vet, but they took forever to send us our pets files.

They made her very at ease for her update vaccines and nail trim and she is Bailey's new dr for great sure. Great people great place will be going here for her from now on. Dr. Shauna Gavin first surprised me with how young she looked, but she immediately impressed me with her knowledge and passion for animals. She is an exceptional veterinarian. All of our dogs took an immediate liking to Dr. Gavin, and I knew we had made the right decision to come here.

Expérience fantastique: The Doctors and Staff are exceptional. I always know my cats will receive excellent care and be treated like family. Recently my oldest was diagnosed with kidney disease and needs twice weekly subcutaneous fluids. To administer this treatment involves a needle inserted under the cat's skin. We were very nervous about doing this on our own BUT with Jenn the Vet Tech's patient and excellent demonstration, we left with full confidence in our ability to do it. Not one of the positive reviews is like we and all the negotiable ones are liked 10+ Times. No place in town has 800+ reviews on Google. That’s so suspect, it’s like they’re giving out services for a good review. Anyway they killed our dog and then sent us a bill in the mail for the surgery. Anyone I know whose gone here has been shocked at the poor care they’ve received. I was stunned to find out this place was still open, it was such a poorly run business. Take your pets literally anywhere else in the city. These positive reviews are all bogus. They used to be 2-2.5 star.

This time they quoted me over $1455. I asked them why more than double. They never gave me a good answer. I knew my dog's issue, so I asked for an antibiotic, and they said no. I wasn't asking for free. They Don't care about your pets here, guys they just want your money. I am not going here ever.

Expérience négative: Last night my moms kitty was on deaths door. He was suffering from cancer and his body was giving out. My mom was at work when we found the kitty in his last stages. Because clinics all close at 8 in airdrie we needed to find the fastest drive down to have kitty officially put to sleep. Thankfully McKnight did allow for us to walk in and go straight to their goodbye room… which by the way is right beside the waiting room. It was boiling hot in there and the lights were bright. The front desk girl handled everything really well… she took the kitty back to the vet quickly and told us he had to be euthanized. Of course we knew that which is why we were there. The vet who was younger came moments later saying the same thing and had needles in her hand. She was clearly in a rush and didn’t talk to us. She had a blank face on and basically stuck the needle in and without letting my mom have her peace to at least say bye she just put the death juice in. I know the cat was basically passed prior but my mom had to ask the vet to hold on so she could say goodbye. It was literally seconds after… The vet just said we could take as much time as we wanted and left. No I’m sorry from anyone there.. no compassion. I mean I understand that it’s a rough job and these poor vets see so much… but even just one little smile or acknowledgment of this senior citizen crying all over the place would have been nice. Honestly I would NEVER go back there myself even for a euthanasia. It was almost like a drive by injection. My cat passed at western vca hospital 5 weeks ago wirh a completely different vet than we usually have.. and as tough as nails as she was, even she took her time and had a small tear in her eye. Plus their back room was very well tailored for goodbyes. It was large and darkly lit with beautiful pictures and cards for help. Like I said the front desk sees a lot and doesn’t always have to show emotion…but a “wham bam injection slam” is pretty tacky. I’m glad I never used this clinic when my own cat was sick. Make the extra drive and go to 4th street or hit up Western VCA 12 mins away. At least you won’t feel treated as just another euthanasia case. Edited to say that a month later they still never sent the ink footprints. My mom went to the clinic and they couldn’t find them. Nor did they send a sympathy card that was supposed to contain them! What a disaster!!!
Expérience fantastique: Our Doxie was not feeling well and had a bad case of dysentery which was very concerning so we took him to McKnight and I must say they went above and beyond in their care of our little guy. They not only treated him but even called as a follow up to make sure he was doing well after a few days. Thank you to the caring people at this clinic. It sure is nice to know that your people really care about our little guy enough to follow up. This is rare but most appreciated.

Expérience fantastique: Had to take our young kitten up there tonight after she ingested butchers twine over the weekend. The staff were all super friendly and helpful. Hannah greeted us and was very attentive, making sure she knew exactly what had happened and her history as we hadnt been there before. Dr Ana was very knowledgeable and helped us make the best decision for our pet. We got home and soon after, she passed the twine and is so much happier now. Thank you everyone at McKnight vets! Expérience fantastique: I took my dog to this clinic without an appointment when he was very ill. They triaged him and discussed their recommendations with me. The team at McKnight Veterinary Hospital were very welcoming and it was very clear that my pup was going to be very well cared for. I am happy to report that with his treatment on site and the follow up care at home he is on the road to a complete recovery. I think it's important to note that while I was waiting there were several people that came in to the clinic with various needs and this team of professionals made sure that every person that came through the door was attended to in a very professional manner. I would not hesitate to give this business 10 stars if it was an option!

Expérience fantastique: I have taken lots of my beloved pets here ! We rushed our tiny chi ( Georgia )there after she became ill. They took amazing care of her including a blood transfusion. I am beyond grateful for the care she received as they saved her life. She was in the hospital for six days and they welcomed daily visits and many many phone calls. I wish I could give them 100 stars
Expérience négative: I want to start this by saying whoever the office assistants are, all 3 who we dealt with were lovely! The only one I know by name is Julie but I appreciate all of your kindness and professionalism. However. I am extremely disappointed in the 2 vets who looked after my 10 week old kitten. I am not a vet so I do not want to make accusations , but I will say how myself and my family felt. It was extremely frustrating being given constant I don't knows and half truths until you got my moms credit card information for an over night stay and whatever else I am sure you could rack up in one night. I ALSO am extremely upset with the lack of communication between vets. The issue went from "oh she has inner ear damage and chicken bones in her stomach ( which I have trouble believing seeing how she can barely ingest her soft food) to, her not being able to lift her head properly. To oh I am sure she will make a full recovery she is just in so much pain we have been sedating her so she can't eat. THEN when a new Vet takes over miraculously there is an all new issue "as you know there is a issue with her back legs" No. we didn't know. We were then told that she will probably need to stay another night and needed to consult a neurologist refusing to discharge her. as I said before I do not want to make aqusations all I can say is how my family and I felt and we feel like we have been extorted for money we can't actually afford. I am so disappointed. I am aware that pets are a luxury but half truths. Vague responses and withholding information in order to prey on the fear of a worried family is so awful. Not to mention with Covid conditions we were not even able to see our fur baby through all of this. I don't know what your intentions are and I will not claim to, but I feel it is important that whoever needs to know THIS is how you make people feel. I never wanted to believe the rumors and horror stories about emergency vets but your vets behaviors have only validated them.

Expérience négative: Meh. My experiences here have been so so. I've only ever brought my dog here for emergencies because it's conveniently located in my area, my dogs regular vet is in Bragg Creek (who we adore). Most recently my dog needed surgery for an open infection, immediately the vet was unkind and suggested that I had been neglectful in some way. Aside from that they made me pay the higher end of the estimated total before my dog received treatment. Which was a whopping $1800. I never argue with them as there is no point, my animal needs treatment so he will get it. Two nights after his surgery I tried calling to ask some questions about one of the medications he was on and waiting on *hold* for about 35 minutes before realizing they're closed. It would be beneficial for them to add their hours of operation on the hold line to prevent people from needlessly waiting for a call that won't be received. About 2 weeks after his surgery he had his sutures removed, today I realized one of them was not removed. So that accumulatively is why I chose my rating.
Expérience négative: Spoke to someone on the phone around 4 a.m. and they said we could bring our cat in for vaccines and that they do that with a wellness check. Well, we arrived and lodged our cat up here only for them to turn us away and say they’re doing “emergency only.” We we’re super adamant about it on the phone and when we mentioned it, the ladies at the front (On Sunday at 4pm) were extremely rude and condescending. We needed him to get his vaccine before a trip. I’m from America and everyone always says how nice Canadians are but they made me acknowledge how untrue that was. The vets in America are so much nicer and would’ve taken our cat in immediately. This is the worst experience and I was willing to drop hundreds of dollars here with my husband. Never again and I’m going to tell our friends who asked us how this place was to never use it. Please listen to the negative reviews because they are 100000% accurate.

Expérience négative: Useless! I called on a Friday for a weekend appointment, there was no availability (which is reasonable given the short notice). Receptionist tells me that because this is generally a walk-in period, they don't normally do this but she can book me in for 11:30 on Monday. I show up Monday with my cat, woman at the front desk informs me I dont have an appointment booked but I can go grab a coffee and come back in 90 minutes. This receptionist was very pleasant while delivering the information but just zero accountability for their screw up. This place used to be great. Looks like its a new owner? Would rate this place zero stars if I could. 0/10. Take your pet literally anywhere else. Check out the yelp reviews. As I'm submitting this, they have a firm 2 star rating. My experience seems pretty standard.

Expérience négative: My family and I have been going to this vet for several years. We brought our cat here to have his final breath which showed the ultimate trust we had for this hospital. My boyfriend became a first time kitty owner and I referred him to go to McKnight to get his kitty neutered as we had no problems with them. When the nurse came to talk about the appointment and to grab his kitten for the surgery he clarified with her that he does not want to pay for anything extra only the low cost price of $264 that was quoted to him. The nurse asked him if he wanted to do a pre-anesthetic screen as it is highly recommended. Him being a first time owner did not understand what that meant but still asked if it would cost extra and she said no so then he agreed. After the surgery was done, they gave him a call for the results from the screening saying that he is perfectly healthy and the total cost of the vet bill which was around $443 as they charged him $158 for the screening. Of course, he fought with them about it as he was told there would be no charge but they couldn’t do anything about it as the process was already done. I decided to talk to the customer solutions manager about this matter as i felt super guilty telling my boyfriend to go to this vet and now him having a bad experience. The customer solutions manager told me they probably wouldn’t have done the surgery if he did not agree to the screening. Then why is it not including in the quote given for the low cost amount? Why would they have that as a option and not required? After several hours on the phone with her she gave no solution as they already told my boyfriend the results from the test. When my boyfriend went to go pick up his kitty he had a talk with the manager that I was speaking to on the phone and they finally gave him a free check up for the surgery and a $50 credit. Fast forward a couple months later my boyfriend wanted to use the $50 credit but he called in to make sure his credit was there and they said the $50 credit was not on his file. On top of that the customer solutions manager was no longer working at the hospital. To no surprise, we will no longer be going to this vet and after telling my family about the experience they will also not be coming back as well. It is absolutely heartbreaking that we had to go through this experience as it is so hard to find a good vet that doesn’t try to take all your money.
Expérience fantastique: I have had to use the McKnight vet hospital twice now for my pup and both times I have received the best service I could imagine in emergency situations. From the folks admitting at the front, the vet techs, and the vet I could not be happier with the treatment my dog and I got. Dr. Vanessa Gruffydd was fantastic, made me feel at ease and explained everything happening with my dog and what the treatment plan was. Expérience fantastique: From start to finish everyone did a great job with our cat Julian. We came in with a very unhappy constipated 11 year old cat. Front desk team (Megan and team)was very pleasant, informative and made us feel welcome. Glory and Jen explained everything and answered all our questions. We were given different treatment options. Dr. Shauna was fantastic. No pressure, kindness, patient. She's a true kindred spirit to cats and likely all other animals! We took our boy home to rest,recover and hydrate. Expérience positive: I am conflicted. Unfortunately my dog passed away at this vet, not at the vets fault. She was anemic and was unable to recover with treatment. The reason for my rating is that i was not offered any compassion for my dog's death, it seemed very transactional for what was an extremely traumatic event for me. The first veterinarion that took her updated me regularly, and had said that no news is good news. the veterinarian in charge changed over and after not hearing from them for about 18 hours, I received a call that my dog was dead. Over the phone I was told that she consistently degraded over night, when I got to the clinic and asked why I was not informed (so I could at least say my goodbyes before daisy passed) the story changed to "she was consistent then suddenly dipped" Unfortunately this is my experience here. *Update* I received a card from McKnight vet with Daisy's paw prints in ink, I do appreciate this gesture as I was just regretting not ordering her paw imprint in a stone when I ordered her cremation.
Expérience fantastique: Had an absolutely excellent experience at McKnight 24 hour clinic! My bunny started having seizures out of nowhere, and when I called they let us come right in. He was seen promptly and given excellent care. The price was more reasonable than I would have expected for a late night emergency visit. Would highly recommend.

She is the only reason that I will be choosing McKnight Animal Hospital for all future Vetrenary appointments. She is EXTREMELY knowledgeable, compassionate, thorough and most importantly cares more about the Animals comfort/needs and building a trusting relationship with their owners then simply trying to make more money or push unnecessary and expensive testing/procedures on you. I took my dog to multiple vets, Dr.Gavin is the only vet that got down on the floor to pet and let my dog kiss her and get to know her. She did not rush the appointment, she answered all my questions, addressed all my concerns and was able to tell me exactly what was going on with my dog. Two other vets told me to put my dog down, Dr.Gavin was able to diagnose on the first visit with NO expensive testing or procedures. My dog takes one inexpensive tablet each morning and she is pain free and acting like a puppy again. Dr.Gavin SAVED MY DOGS LIFE!!!!! I will follow her thru out her career with all future pets even if we have to travel farther to see her.

Expérience fantastique: My old man dog had started limping. I figured him and his little sister were farting around in the back yard and he slipped on ice. It got really bad and he was crying at bed time because of his pain. I tried to ice him but it wasn’t working. I called McKnight vet and they told me to bring him down. I live in the city over so we rushed there to try to get him comfortable again. They were very open and honest about what the issue could be. We went with the first option of medicating him to see if he would relax a bit and get some sleep instead of crying. So far so good. They told us what we needed to watch for incase we had to bring him back for an X-ray so determine if he was worse than expected. They did not push anything on us and as it is almost Christmas they helped us figure out proper options within our budget for that night. I’m sorry he peed on your freshly painted new wall in the back, you were so kind about him and his mommy cries. We appreciate you all so much. He is my best friend and has been since I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and you guys have calmed my nerves more than you know. Thank you for the amazing support.

Expérience fantastique: Reading the reviews initially I had some apprehension about taking my baby to this clinic, however the service that was provided to us was exceptional! They got her in and triaged almost immediately, which I understand can vary in times depending on the demand of an emergency service. Dr Abby was very patient and transparent with each cost, and thoroughly justified each measure. Nurse Amanda also took her time to explain post care instructions, and the front desk staff was courteous on the phone as well as in person. I am very happy with the care we received here! Earlier today I had Nugget visit a vet with near 5* overall review and the amount of information we received from them was disappointing at best compared to the findings from a comparable intake examination here. She came home happy and purring, which was a huge difference versus when I brought her in. Thank you Dr Abby and team!

I have been here several times for all sorts of issues with my animals and whether they are giving great news or bad, the staff are always incredibly kind, compassionate and understanding. They took the best care of my kitten who passed yesterday and were so patient with us despite our inconsolability. Expérience positive: Been going there for years and always a good experience. My dog Samson knows the vet and doesn't really care to go in the door. They offered an alternate door right into an examinations room that he just walked into with no problem. A bit of trickery. He calmed down from their on. When veterinarian came in she offered treats to get him relaxed and befriend him. She was vary knowledgeable with Samson's eye infection and prescribed antibiotic eye drops for 7 days that did the trick. All staff were vary friendly with Samson as well.

Expérience fantastique: I really appreciate this vet clinic! Our baby girl had an allergic reaction to a bug sting, was swollen and this vet got her in RIGHT away! No hesitation to assisting our little girl! We are so thankful and appreciative of the lovely ladies that work here! Expérience positive: Since moving to the area a few years ago, McKnight Vet has become my dog's home vet. I don't have enough words to explain how wonderful of an addition they've been in my "lemon" dog's life. My dog has suffered from severe allergies most of his life. McKnight Vet was with us trying to figure out the best treatment for my old boy (he is 11). We recently switched him to Cytopoint, which has been amazing for him. Dr. Harris really went above and beyond for us when it came to his allergies. She was so informative and compassionate. Recently, I noticed that he was not receiving consistent dosages of Cytopoint though, which caused him to become distressed with a lot of discomfort. I contacted McKnight, and right away they looked into his file and determined that he wasn't receiving the proper dosages (too little). They immediately rectified the situation, and although I wasn't impressed that his dosages were not being given in a consistent manner, what they did do to rectify the problem greatly satisfied me and my doggo will be very happy. I love this vet, it's one of the only ones I have found to really truly care about their patients. Thank you to everyone at McKnight Vet <3 (my review would have been 5 stars if not for the dosage mix up =P)

Expérience positive: We had to bring our seriously injured dog here because it was the closest option at 9:30pm on a Sunday. We were not welcomed with the urgency and professionalism that I would have expected, but they are working to improve upon that based on my feedback. Nobody should have to experience what we did with our precious pup and it will continue to cause distress for a very long time. The veterinary experience should never add to the misery that someone goes through in such a desperate time. In contrast, it should be the only positive part of such a tragedy.
Expérience fantastique: McKnight Vet is second to none and in particular Dr. Remedios has been an absolute Godsend to my Jada girl. Truly. I'd give 10 stars if I could! Anyone who says bad things about this place or Dr. Remedios has misunderstood something. Dr. Remedios has been giving my Jada incredible care and support for almost two years, and much of it an email away for free! Incredible what she has done for us. I am so grateful. I took my sweet 14 yr old with a 4 pound tumor on her leg to Dr. Remedios after a referral from another Vet clinic (that says something right there) and she did a truly amazing job with the surgery, the after care and every old dog issue imaginable since. No one cares more about our fur babies than Dr. Remedios! Thank you, thank you, thank you for all you have done for Jada and I.

Expérience fantastique: We’ve had a couple emergencies where we’ve taken our dog here, and also a knee surgery. The staff have been very caring and attentive with us and our pup. They always explain everything so well and kept us very informed. It’s true, the wait times are crazy now, to the point where it’s difficult to even reach anyone. That’s very frustrating, but we have to keep in mind that they are extremely understaffed and overworked. As frustrated as I am, I can’t imagine how they must feel now trying desperstely to keep up with an inundation of demand. While the current situation is not ideal, I actually want to thank them for how much they are accomplishing to keep our pets in good health.

Expérience fantastique: Great, helpful and friendly customer service - The girls put up with all of my phone calls and questions when my furbaby was there sick, and even once discharged. Prices are on par with most other vet clinics in the city, service is relatively quick and you can tell the vets actually care/love the animals. The package/care instructions they send you home with is a nice touch.

I used to believe McKnight was one of the best, I'm not sure what has changed, but the staff and lack of care has gone way downhill. Last night I called in a panic as my dog was in pain. I was put on hold for 10 minutes and then told owners cannot come into the rooms still. It's July 2021, the stampede is currently mask free.. but owners are not allowed in, even with a mask? As a hospital, you would know dogs are more likely to be aggressive in pain. Why would anyone bring their hurt animals here, with the chance there is an incident without the owner present. On top of that, I have emailed multiple times during covid, no response. I have asked about the new 'no appointment' way of doing business, no response. I have been asked to be taken off the paper mailing list, nothing. I have asked for my dogs birthday to be corrected, nothing. Incredibly disappointed with the McKnight team.

Tragically, we had to have our wonderful little 5 year old Dachson prematurely put down in mid-June after visiting a dog chiropractor who (we believe) triggered a spinal blood clot paralyzing our precious best friend. It's been a massive blow to our family. I'm writing this review because the folks at the McKnight Veterinary Hospital were nothing short of amazing. Expérience fantastique: I took my dog for a late evening walk and out of the corner of my eye, he had picked up what looked like a blue latex glove. As I went to take it out of his mouth, he dodged me and quickly swallowed it! Being late in the evening, I rushed home and called every 24 hour vet in the city. All of them recommended getting him in for induced vomiting but nobody could get him in within the 1-4 hour recommended window of time. McKnight Vet was my last call, and even though they were at their maximum capacity for the night, they agreed to see him right away. They were able to successfully induce vomiting & just as suspected, out came a whole blue rubber glove! Everyone there was very caring and kept me informed of every step of the process. Feeling very thankful that they were able to see him so quickly

Expérience négative: I was very excited to have a new vet for my kittens. Until I got an email saying they would be walk in only. Even then I was willing to give it a go. Then I called to check wait times 4-6 hours for a vaccine booster is completely unacceptable. I do understand there is medical priority, but I don't have that amount of time to wait for a simple vaccine or annual check up. The alternative they gave is on the other side of town. I hope you guys realize the error of this change. The doctor that took care of the first kitten was excellent. Now I need to find someone new for my newest addition.

Expérience fantastique: Took my kitten in because he was acting strange and very vocal/in pain. Took him in late night and waited roughly 4 hours. We were updated the whole time, didn’t seem rushed, they were kind and friendly and professional. Always told us the quote for the bill and made sure we knew what was going on constantly. Though it was tough to tell what was wrong with him they were very informative and still treated his pain. When we got home I noticed he was still not doing well and I called them 5 or more times because I was scared. Never did they make me feel unimportant or annoying. Expérience négative: This is a place where you get ripped off. I took our 8 year old Lab for annual check up last week. They prescribed a medication for his ears. I misplaced the medication at home as we are renovating. So I called them to get a replacement for his medication and I was told to bring the dog back to them, pay another $60 for check up and only then I can receive the medication. You just checked him 5 days ago and you want me to bring him in again so that you can rip me off again? Wasn’t the $500 some $$$ enough from last visit? I am going to find a new VET in town. You have lost a life long customer for $60. P:S: they would recommend things that are not required for your loved pet but since a person is so emotional at times, you keep saying yes to stuff that is not even required and pay a hefty bill.

Expérience fantastique: After my pet hamster passed away and I brought her in for cremation, I was made to feel that my hamster was equally as important as any pet. They took me seriously when I requested a necropsy be preformed as I had suspicions about the new food I'd just purchased from the local pet store by my home before the hamster got sick, and they provided me with an affordable way of going forward with the necropsy. Even leading up to the hamster passing away, they were able to stabilize her and send me home with a course of drugs while keeping expectations realistic. I also received a very heartfelt condolences card in the mail from the clinic that was hand signed with breif condolences notes from a number of the staff members as well as paw prints from my late pet hamster. Already, this clinic would have received a 5 star review for their professionalism and for doing everything they could to help my pet. But this hand signed card with my pets prints was way above and beyond and I really appreciated it.

Expérience fantastique: I've accessed this vet twice now in my life time. Both times were within the last 6 months and both times were critical moments for my pets. Both times not only were the staff receptive encouraging and empathic but they were also quick and efficient. Even though I didn't have all of the money upfront (I had approximately 70% on both occasions and both were emergency visits) the vet was willing to work with me so my babies didn't suffer or feel pain. I'm utterly grateful for the people at this clinic and am switching to them for full time care. Thank you McKnight 24 hour!

Expérience fantastique: We have an 8 year old small mix bread dog that has never had any issues or emergencies until Monday when she mistakenly ate a grape. We had no idea Grapes were so toxic for Dogs. When we took her in to our Vet to try and induce vomiting they could not get the entire Grape out and said we needed to take her to the Emergency Vet Hospital Vet. We called a NW hospital that said it would be a 2-3 hour wait... I could not wait that long knowing the grape was harming my dog with each passing minute... we called McKnight and they took her in right away. She had to stay for 3 full days so they could monitor her.. I am so impressed with the level of care they gave our girl... they even sent me pictures of her each night. I truly do not think the staff at McKnight get thanked and appreciated enough for all that they do. SO THANK YOU ALL ! I highly recommend this Vet Hospital.

I never bother writing a review, but since other fur-children and their owners will be involved, I feel like I'm responsible in providing this realistic feedback. It'll be a very long essay, if anyone has the patience to read this. Please note that McKnight is the first hospital we ever visited so there might be some biases. First, the staffs and physicians are really nice and patient, they like to listen to you and provide all the information you need as the best they can; the service itself definitely worth compliment. However, I would also like to say something about how was our real experiences with McKnight, if anyone has the patience to read my review. Please note that McKnight is the first hospital we ever visited so there might be some biases. First of all, they'll make you pay for a $50-$100 examination fee EVERYTIME you bring your pet in, regardless it's for just a regular check, a vaccination apppointment, or a revisit, you need to pay that fee. I assume every clinic likes to do this, but still, as a student myself, the near $100 examination fee is more of a rob from my pocket if our puppy was there just for a regular recheck. Secondly, owners, if you want to have an eye on your pet and not very comfortable having your pet taken away for hours possibly, DO NOT visit the hospital. They'll take your pet away and ONLY CALLS you to inform the situation and all instructions are done via a phone call. I'm not sure if this is due to COVID or something, but this is quite unacceptable for me personally if owners are not allowed to even see how their pet is being treated behind the door. Again, I'm not sure if all clinics do this. In our country, owners are ALWAYS, or even ENCOURAGED to be with their pets during treatment to comfort them in a brand new environment. Lastly, the details of some medical work is totally unreliable, which made me very angry about, I doubt if it was done by med students in internship. Our puppy's leg was broken due to an accident and they had a splint on her, which is not a problem, however, I discovered more than one time that my puppy's tummy and thigh had clear wounds due to fiction caused by bandages on splint. So I stressed please be careful when wrapping the bandages on, and they clearly didn't accept my suggestions; after a week or so, they removed the splint after her leg recovered, and what terrifies me was the infections are everywhere on the skin on her injured leg for keeping tight bandages and lack of fresh air inside splint for weeks. Moreover, My puppy had her tibia broken, NOT THE ENTIRE LEG AND HER PAW!! I hope they at least can release some tension on the bandages around her paw, BUT THEY DID NOT, so dispite the infections on her paw, even her nails are nearly broken and distorted by bandages, I can't even imagine how painful she was! I'm so disappointed with how careless the person was while doing the bandages, definitely didn't pay any attention! Again the bandage is more likely done by a student, not a professional physician! Of all these complains, I know it kinda sounds harsh, but again these are my real experiences and feeling working with McKnight; also I wish the team could have done better and make great progress out of their business in the future, because many fur-children's health is at stake there.

Expérience fantastique: I have brought my old cat of 18 years to be put down. My other elderly cat for an abscess. My 2 new cats for their... well everything. Just had to take my boy cat in for an emergency appointment and at every turn they have been really great. Being a 24 hour emergency clinic is a bonus and they are REALLY busy but I've only ever had one experience in all my years there that I would consider bad (a callous assistant but in her defence I was DISTRAUGHT). And, when I go away and my friend takes care of my cats I leave them my credit card number for emergencies. There has never been a problem. I recommend.
