Expérience fantastique: Service was good, staff were courteous and attentive. Treatment plans were discussed by Dr with me before being carried out so no surprise charges. Charges were comparable to other Veterinary Clinics in our area. Would use their service again if needed for our cat. Clinic also did follow up post discharge to see if all was still improving, which I found a good after care service action on their part.

Expérience fantastique: Our cat had a possible blockage and since if was Saturday, our local vet said take him to the emergency clinic on Eagleson. We called, they did various tests to determine the cause of the issues and recommended treatment. Our cat was better soon after and we that the Eagleson Vet for their care.

Expérience fantastique: On 21 Feb 2026, our almost 14 year old husky Millie started to loose her balance on our walk. Her head was tilting to the left. My husband and I brought her to Eagleson Veterinary Clinic, thankfully very close to our home, and open for 24 hours. She was seen immediately. A vet tech. sat with her until she was treated by Dr Mohamed Nasar. I was so relieved to know Millie was never alone. My husband and I of course were very anxious as we waited for news. Dr. Nasar advised his primary diagnosis to be Geriatric Vesticular Syndrome. There were other possibilities to address if Millie did not improve over time. We were given detailed information on how the syndrome would look over the next three weeks. A very thorough blood work was done and we got the results right away. We were greatly relieved that the results were very good. We took our girl home armed with medication, information, and treatment plan. Millie has shown improvement and has basically displayed the Syndrome progress to a T! Thank you Dr. Nasar and your team for helping Millie, and us through this ordeal. We continue to monitor Millie closely and are keeping her on the treatment regimen. She is eating heartily, and is now enjoying a VERY short, slow walk to give her a chance to sniff and read the yellow news.

The Vet Tech who handled our triage provided incredibly honest and helpful insight right from the start. In a stressful situation, being treated like "real people" made all the difference. Expérience fantastique: Experiences have been very good. In fact, much better and professional than other veterinary hospitals. No. 1: They are open 24/7 !! This means that if your pet family member is having a seizure or some other type of bad spell in the off-regular-business hours, staff are there onsite to assist (whether they have been admitted, or you are rushing in with them). This is HUGE. All staff have been very caring and considerate. I am grateful to this place. When our pup, who was never claimed, first showed up on our front porch, multiple dog neighbours highly recommended Eagleson. We all live in West Centretown, so that says a lot.) Note: Through Eagleson, after a bit of a frightening seizure / stroke, on our behalf, they arranged for his MRI at VSCAN on Carling within an hour. Literally, we got him in at VSCAN within an hour, the MRI was completed as we waited - and the doctor came out to discuss the results with us immediately afterward. This elevated level of healthcare treatment does not happen here in Canada for humans. I did something to my own C3 and C4 that has been causing some issues, multiple medical visits at the onset, including to hospitals - and it took 10 months to get the MRI. My family doctor even had to resubmit the request (she couldn't believe it, and provided me with proof of her initial request submission for the MRI). This is human healthcare today in Ottawa, Canada though. At least, for our pup, we were able to provide him the gold standard. So, I do recommend Eagleson - as it was recommended to us.

Expérience fantastique: An excellent emergency vet, and regular vet too! My cat Moose had issues with his urinary tract and he was taken in as soon as we got there, and everyone was treated incredibly well. They gave details on his diet change, and specific care instructions for how to treat his exact case. They are definitely becoming my regular vet office.

Expérience fantastique: Brought my baby Kiwi there last week after noticing she seemed off - I had never been there before but from the second I walked in, every individual I dealt with was incredibly kind. When coming to the decision it was time to let Kiwi go, they were all incredibly compassionate and made sure I had all the time I needed to say goodbye. Even went as far as to give me a hand written condolence card. Will be my go to clinic from now on - you can tell they really care.

Expérience positive: Disappointed with how medication refills were handled. My dog was seen in April 2025 with full exam and blood work, yet the clinic incorrectly stated he hadn’t been seen since 2024 and refused a Vetmedin refill unless I booked another appointment. Poor record keeping and unnecessary stress when dealing with a heart medication. Update: The clinic later followed up, acknowledged the error, and resolved the issue.

Expérience négative: Horrible!!!!! I visited the clinic on January 24th with my dog, who was showing signs of Lyme disease. I received 28 days of medication, but I noticed it only contained 17 days' worth. I contacted the clinic, and they acknowledged the mistake, advising me to come in and receive the remaining medication at no charge, since the bottle indicated 28 days and I had already paid for it. However, when I arrived, I was informed that they could not provide the remaining medication free of charge. Instead, they offered a different, cheaper form of medication, which I was not initially offered. As a result, I paid more for the liquid medication 28 days' worth, but only received 17 days. I will be seeking veterinary care elsewhere in the future.

Expérience positive: I've always found the staff really friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Our annual appointments are always on time and the pets receive great attention from the veterinarians. I regularly pick up speciality food there as well, and rarely have I had any issues. The odd time they haven't had what I needed, they are quick to order it in for me. Would recommend this clinic for sure!

Expérience fantastique: Our boy Albie lost control of his legs. We took him in Sunday to put him to sleep. The most difficult and painful thing to have to do. They staff were very caring and respectfully and they had a nice room set up for this kind of thing. My family is still devastated over the loss but I want to thank the staff for the care and condolences offered. I couldn't do there job.

Expérience négative: This is the worst animal emergency hospital I have ever been to in my life. The attitudes from the reception and the doctors are atrocious. The most important thing for them is money before they even offer any help or even pretend to care about your pet they hit you with their crazy prices. I took my cat here 3 days in a row for them each time to offer no help and do all the expensive test that they knew they didn’t need to do. While my cat was actively dying. I went to another emergency on the forth day and they examined him immediately to tell me what was wrong, I didn’t wait for hours, I didn’t have to go through their menu of prices first. They addressed the issue and thennn we dealt with the price and next steps. This vet is completely backwards and I have told every pet owner I know to never visit. I don’t recommend to go if you want people to actually care about your pet and do everything they can the first time. I know they purposely wanted to have me do every test to rack up the bill when my cats bladder was massive and rock hard a simple feel by the other place told them everything. I regret the day I ever found this place on google unfortunately it was an emergency and I was desperate. I urge people not to make the same mistake. They won’t treat you like an emergency anyways.

Expérience négative: Don’t go there. This clinic is obsessed about upselling. It’s disheartening to see a place to care for animals turn into a revenue stream. Common sense compassion is truly lacking. You go there for one thing, they push many things onto you. There’s prob a reason to why they got extension they did.

What I appreciate a lot with this vet service is their accommodation for working pet owners with plenty of evening and weekend hours. Expérience négative: On October 1, 2025, we brought our beautiful baby girl Lizzie into this clinic because it was after hours and we suspected something was terribly wrong. Lizzie was a 4 year old great dane. Upon arriving to the clinic, we walked in with her as she stumbled into the door. Lizzie could barely walk but they insisted that we try to get her only the scale. Once it was clear that she was not able to step up, they told us it was ok and asked if I knew roughly her weight. I told them that months ago when we were at the vet her weight then. Lizzie was stressy and could fluctuate quite a bit. The vet then proceeded to tell me that he suspects that she has bloat and that it is a life threatening condition and that an x-ray would confirm this. I agreed to the xray as I was prepared to pay anything to save my girl. The vet then proceeded to tell me that he is unable to begin any treatment until he has $10,000 in his hands. I was stunned but told him that I would get on it right away and to go ahead with the x-ray. He again told me that he was unable to start anything until he had the money. As I was bawling trying to work with my bank after hours to transfer money, my girl was suffering. Roughly about 20 minutes later, they received the money and took her in the back for treatment. A short time later, the vet came and told us that in deed, my poor girl had bloat along with a twisted stomach. The vet explained the surgery and the risks and answered all my questions. Lizzie was having surgery. I was really struggling with keeping my emotions in check even though my husband and daughter made attempts to console me. As I paced the halls, I cried out her name telling her she needed to come home with me. Hours later (it seemed), the vet came running out to tell us that Lizzie's heart had stopped as they were sewing her up. They asked if we wanted CPR and told me of the cost per 10min intervals. I said yes, as I had indicated on the paperwork. At this time, someone ran up saying she started to breath again. The vet ran back and continued to treat Lizzie. I was still a bawling mess at the thought that I could be leaving home without her. At this point, it was in the wee hours of the next day. When the vet finished with Lizzie, he came out to talk to us about her prognosis and the fact that she was essentially dead for 25 minutes. I asked to go and see her. They allowed me to go and see her, she was still in the OR on the table hooked up to everything. I rubbed her down and kissed her head as I cried. I talked to her as I always had. I told her she needed to come home. The vet came a couple of times and did some neurological tests and explained that things were looking good. After an hour and a half of visiting and chatting with her one to one nurse, I was feeling hopeful enough to leave for the hour and a half drive ahead of me. We climbed into bed at 5am only to receive a phone call shortly after 7am that my girl had stopped breathing again. They asked if I wanted CPR again and I said of course. After 10 minutes, they called and said that they were sorry but they wouldn't do anymore CPR as it was not fair to Lizzie. I understood but I was nothing short of a babbling mess. You know, Lizzie was much more to me than just a dog. She was my best friend, my everything. I do wonder if the time wasted getting into the clinic, the scale, the wait for the money transfer may have cost her life. Because of this (refusing to do anything until they received the money), I would not go back nor would I recommend this clinic. This emergency visit cost over $6000. When money overrides care and compassion, it is just a business.

Expérience fantastique: We've made use of the after-hours emergency clinic twice with our dearly departed Logan. Both times the staff were exceptionally kind and understanding while accommodating us. When it became clear that it was Logan's time to go, the clinic went above board in making sure he was comfortable and that we were taken good care of on very short notice. Thank you to all the staff at the clinic, especially to Cordelia and Sofia, for your compassion and care.

Expérience négative: 1 Star – Deeply Concerning Experience We brought our 5-month-old kitten in very worried state, he was clearly unwell and needed help. After a brief examination (no diagnostics performed), we were charged $300 with no treatment or prescription provided. When we asked about medication, we were told treatment *could not even be considered* without extensive testing totaling nearly $1,000—without any discussion of more affordable options, supportive care, or triage. Most distressing was the immediate suggestion to euthanize our young, otherwise bright and responsive kitten—for $400—as a *first* recommendation. No effort was made to explore diagnostics, hydration, symptom management, or a second opinion. There was no empathy—only transactional urgency. A neighbour had actually warned us *not* to go there, but in our panic and because it was the closest clinic, we rushed in. We now deeply regret every second of that visit—and wish, more than anything, we had listened. Please think twice before stepping foot in this clinic with your beloved pet. In a crisis, you need care, clarity, and compassion—not pressure, pricing tiers, and premature worst-case recommendations. Thank you for reading.

Expérience fantastique: I have worked at a veterinary clinic for nearly 27 years however we do not offer after hours urgent care. I have referred many clients to your practice, whom have all had great things to say about the service they were provided. Needless to say that when my new, less than a week in my care, kitten was acutely ill, I didn't think twice. I came to you for my veterinary care. Dr. Nars was wonderful as was Lovely and all the other staff that I interacted with that day. I knew full well walking in what tests were going to be required to rule out serious issues and knew their respective costs. I will say that working in this field allowed me to understand the nessicity of certain tests which gave me the upper hand. Before an estimate was provided I had verbally agreed to blood work and xrays to be taken. Dr. Nars said "thank you but this is protocol" and we both giggled. The care received was quick, efficient and all the staff was pleasant. I will continue to refer clients to your veterinary team, which will now be based on my own personal experience. In this field, we are often taken for granted or told we are only in it for the money (let's be real for a moment here to explain how little veterinary personal actually make!!). So coming from a person who works in this filed not only was the experience great the costs were close to what most clinics charge for regular blood work and xrays. The difference being the exam fee as it was an emergency, meaning I was likely seen before someone with an appointment due to the nature of my vist. So yes, the payment of an emergency visit itself will be higher however you are paying for the urgency of the visit, expertise of the staff and time of your visit. To me, it was all worth it! So thank you, all of you for what you do. You are appreciated more than you know and likely not told nearly as often as you should! Dobby is back to his normal self! Expérience fantastique: This was our second emergency visit to Eagleson Vets. The first was in September with our golden who was in extreme pain and would not weight bear on his hind leg. It was determined he had Lyme disease and was treated. We attended again in December with our cat who wasn’t eating, was lethargic and vomiting. It was determined he had severe pancreatic issues which also caused liver problems. He spent the night and came home the following day starting on his road to recovery. Their triage with the vet techs was excellent and we saw a vet both times reasonably fast. They are all kind, considerate and patient. When we called to check on our cat, we spoke to the vet caring for him. Top notch service from vets, vet techs and administrative staff. I highly recommend Eagleson Bet Clinic.

Expérience fantastique: My family moved to the area a year ago, and in that time I have been a frequent flyer at Eagleson Vet Clinic with my two dogs. Most recently, one of my dogs required orthopaedic surgery on his knee. His surgical team, Dr. Galal and RVT Sydney, have gone above and beyond for his care and I could not be happier or more thankful for them. They both go over all of his diagnostics and care plans in great detail and answer any questions I may have. They both have checked in on him during his recovery period very frequently and you can tell they genuinely care about his progress. He had his other knee operated on in another province a few years ago and we did not receive anywhere near the service that we have received this time from EVC. We also have had some orthopaedic concerns with our second dog, and without fail Dr. Galal always checks in to see how she is doing as well whenever we speak. Additionally, the reception staff are always excellent, very friendly and professional. I would recommend EVC to anyone looking for excellent care for their pets!

Expérience fantastique: Highly recommend Eagleson Vet. After multiple vet visits over the years for my senior dog’s breathing issues, nothing seemed to be improving. When she suddenly began struggling to breathe, I rushed her to Eagleson. The vet techs were very friendly and spoke highly of their doctors. Dr. Zaid was very knowledgeable and took the time to explain the diagnosis and answer my questions. It has now been a few weeks since starting the medication, and I’m happy to say I’ve seen a significant improvement in my dog’s breathing. She truly seems to be back to her normal self!

Expérience négative: This was an awful experience. I brought my dog in because I suspected she had a blockage. They triaged her and I was seen by a vet within about an hour. The vet recommended blood work and xrays and took my dog back for xrays. Two hours passed with no update. I went to the front and told them I was uncomfortable with how long they had had her and if she wasn’t actively being treated, I’d like her to wait with me. They brought her back to me. Twenty minutes later, they took her again for more blood work. I told them again if she wasn’t actively being treated, I’d like her with me. Another hour passes and there’s no one around. No one at the front desk, no one in the halls. I had such a bad feeling that I was never going to see her again. Finally I see the vet come out from the back and I ask to have my dog back immediately and his response was “your bloodwork is done.” I said I didn’t care and just wanted my dog back. They should never have needed to take my dog for four and a half hours for blood work. All that turned up was that she was stressed (probably from being kept away from me while she was obviously ill). They charged me for extra blood work I didn’t request, took another 20 minutes to come to the front for me to pay, and had the nerve to try and sell me their dog food. The total bill was $1000 for just bloodwork that took 4.5 hours to get. I’ve never had a vet experience like this. Do not go here and if you do, make sure you’re ready to advocate for your dog.

Expérience fantastique: We brought our 10 year old dog to Eagleson for a second opinion today. After not eating for 6 days and not drinking for 2, we felt time was running out for her. Another clinic/vet told us after a preliminary physical exam that she had a mass pushing on her organs and that she would need more testing to the tune of $1300+ to confirm. We thought our sweet pup was at the foot of the rainbow bridge, but we decided to bring her here and she looked better by the time she arrived home. They examined her and the results of her blood work (conducted at other clinic) and said there was no obvious signs of a mass/tumour. So, they suggested we start with probiotics, speciality food and rest. She started eating again this pm. I really appreciate their logical approach to caring for our baby today. They were less expensive than the other clinic and provided much better and quicker service. WE are not out of the woods yet but it’s a start. You have no idea how much this means to us after that hellish, unprofessional experience. THANK YOU! <3

Expérience fantastique: Nov 11 - My German Shepherd, Bear, tried to fight a porcupine and ended up with quills all over his mouth. We received immediate treatment at the clinic. Dr. Yacyshyn and her team Noemy Camryn were incredibly professional and caring. I truly appreciate all of their help! Nov 17 - I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Yacyshyn again and technician Joyce. Due to a few quills were hidden deep in the tissues, and we returned for a second removal. Dr. Yacyshyn is incredibly experienced in locating and removing every quill—even the ones buried deep. She never gave up at any point in the process. Some quills required tremendous effort to remove, and watching her work was truly remarkable. The procedure demanded precision, skill, and—most importantly—care and responsibility. I am deeply thankful for the dedication and compassion both Dr. Yacyshyn and Joyce showed throughout the entire experience. The help of Dr. Yacyshyn and Joyce means so much to us and Bear. Expérience fantastique: I really recommend this vet clinic. My cat, Five, was having blood in his urine and looked like he was in pain. I brought him to this emergency clinic, and the staff immediately arranged treatment without any delay. The price is not cheap, but it’s very reasonable. They don’t push unnecessary tests just to make money — instead, they carefully arrange examinations based on the symptoms. If the cause isn’t clear, they continue step by step with deeper testing only when needed. Before any procedure, they always provide an estimated cost, so there are no hidden fees. While communicating with me, they were also actively treating Five, giving him fluids and catheterization when necessary. Five stayed in the hospital for two days and received so much care and love. The staff truly understood my worries and gave me updates whenever I needed them — even late at night. I went from anxious to calm because I genuinely trust the skill and compassion of this team. I want to give special thanks to Ammar, Paige, Meagan, Karen, Ruthie, Jodie, Zaid, and everyone else who took care of Five. Sorry if I missed some names — I appreciate every single one of you. Five has been discharged and is recovering, he’ll continue his treatment at home. For any future care, this hospital will always be my first choice — for Five and for all my pets. ❤️

Expérience fantastique: Every experience at Eagleson Veterinary Clinic has been absolutely amazing when it comes to their friendly and compassionate staff. I came here in the summer (2025) after my 11 year old cat had an accident. Unfortunately the outcome was devastating, but their staff made me understand the results and our options and outcomes. I was having the worst day of my life and they were patient and kind and just made everything as easy as they could. Afterwards they sent me a card in the mail, truly their staff went above and beyond. Now months later I have two new additions to the family and we had an emergency vet visit where they discussed cost, results, outcomes, and just very reassuring the whole time. For their check up /vaccine appointment, the vet was so friendly and the appointment was fun. They gave my cats treats and lots of love. The cost of the vet appt was reasonable and the urgent care appt is more expensive understandably. So happy I found this vet, our fur babies will be life long patients here. Expérience négative: If I could leave zero I would. Spent 300$ they gave my injured cat nothing and did absolutely nothing. Triage then vet. Vet gets further consult comes back. Apparently was told they would make an appointment at Alta vista to see an eye vet. 37 minutes later left the room receptionist said she will look into it. 12 minutes later I ask again if I can pay as I will make my own appointment. Then she says they don’t make the appointment- why would the vet leave the room tell me she will set it up so I do not have to wait. Only to be told no. So I was waiting for what then? No medication, no referral, no appointment. They looked at his eyes and that was it. So my cat still has an injured eye. With no solution. I spent 2 hours and 300$ for absolutely nothing but to be irritated and robbed.

Please know that we always do our best to manage each situation as efficiently as possible; however, as a triage clinic, cases are prioritized based on urgency. At the time of your appointment, our vet was also managing several more critical cases, which may have contributed to wait times and delays in communication.

That said, I completely understand the importance of clear and timely communication, and I’m truly sorry if this was lacking during your visit. The team was actively reaching out to multiple specialty clinics in the area to gather information on availability and cost for an ophthalmology referral. Unfortunately, our vet was not able to reconnect with you in person before you left but did call and email shortly afterward to discuss referral options and to let you know that she had adjusted the triage exam to a routine exam (less than half the original cost) given the circumstances. I can confirm that the refund for this adjustment has been processed to your card.

Management has tried to reach but is yet to hear back. If you’d be open to it, we’d greatly appreciate the opportunity to discuss your experience further and ensure that your concerns are fully addressed.

Expérience fantastique: I accidentally gave my little dog a significant overdose of a medication. I went immediately to the 24 hour clinic on Eagleson Road where the staff was marvellous and they took care of my little dog immediately. They also were very good at allaying my fears by keeping me informed of every step of whatever process they had to do and to fully explain the procedure for me. I would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending them for the care of your animal.

Expérience négative: First time going here for an emergency and already the receptionist made me feel unwelcome and inconsiderate of my feelings during an upsetting time. The doctors that actually evaluated my pet were great and nice. However, right after they told me my pet had to be put down due to a tumour the next person to come right away was an assistant ready to receive the payment… It was very awkward and upsetting as they seemed to have no decency or consideration for their clients. Considering this place is an emergency vet you’d hope to be treated more kindly by the workers during a very difficult time. I don’t recommend this vet if your pet needs an emergency.

Expérience fantastique: From the moment we arrived, a little stressed out to say the least, we were greeted by empathetic staff who made us feel like everything from this point forward was going to be just fine. Our vet and his assistant communicated everything in a calm manner and didn't use too much "medical speak" so we could follow along. All questions were patiently answered. Expérience fantastique: The day we had to bring our dog Morris into your clinic was a very hard day for us. We didnt know why his back legs were giving out on him and wanted and desperately needed answers. The clinic was amazing ! The staff were all very kind and welcoming. The Veterinarian we saw was also amazing and caring. Sadly we decided the best thing for Morris after being diagnosed with a low count of glucose due to a tumor in his pancreas was euthanization. We got back to Oshawa and contacted our Veterinarian and he agreed with the results from your Clinic. Sadly Morris is no longer with us as of August 18th 2025. He would have been 12 October 30th.

Expérience fantastique: The staff is very nice and they helped me through tough times when my cat got sick last year and he was staying at the clinic overnight. They called me and sent me pictures to keep me updated. I will forever be grateful to everyone at the clinic for curing him and taking such good care of him. Their prices are not cheap but they are very upfront about it. There are no hidden costs on the invoice and the clinic is always very clean! Plus the staff is very nice and helpful when I have questions.

Expérience positive: I have had excellent experiences with this emergency vet! Everyone is so helpful and even when calling anybody from the vet to ask follow-up questions I was met with very helpful answers! I wouldn’t hesitate taking my doggo to this vet again and was very happy with the assessment of my pet! I will note that I did spend $950 for the assessment fee, x-ray, and one medication injection. This was unfortunately quite unaffordable and this visit alone didn’t fully solve my doggo’s problem (not due to fault of the vet). This was also with saying no to several things such as an overnight stay, IV fluids, and a second x-ray (which would have been $2600 total which I would really struggle to afford as a recent university graduate who is just starting my career). I understand vet prices are very high these days, it just makes it hard to give our pets the best care when a small trip to the vet costs $1000. The vet was very upfront about the costs which was helpful!

Expérience négative: We found a stray cat in terrible condition — she has a large abscess on her face, is missing her left eye, and has an injured front leg. She is extremely skinny and clearly unwell. Out of compassion, we brought her to the emergency vet, hoping she would receive the urgent care she desperately needs. The staff checked for a microchip but then refused to provide any treatment unless we first paid over $200 just for a diagnosis. We explained that this is not our cat and that she needs immediate help, yet they still declined to assist. While still at the clinic, I called bylaw for support, only to be told it could take up to 24 hours before anyone could respond. In the meantime, this poor, defenseless animal was left without care. I am appalled and deeply disappointed by the lack of compassion and responsibility shown in this situation. I definitely will not be taking my animals to this vet ever again!

Expérience fantastique: I brought my dog here for the first time today and I can not express how amazing every single staff member is! The moment we walked through the door we were treated with such kindness, and it was surprisingly a very relaxing atmosphere considering what it is, which helps when you are already feeling stressed about your fur baby. Even though there were several pets the wait time was much less than other emergency vets we have been to. The vet spent a good amount of time explaining everything and even said certain products weren’t necessary that I asked about (I really appreciated the honesty) to keep the bill lower. I would recommend this place to anyone needing care when they can not get to their regular vet

Expérience négative: This happened four years ago, but I finally have the strength to talk about it because of how traumatic my experience was. My cat was euthanized here after an emergency appointment. My regular vet could not accommodate us, so they recommended to take my cat here. The experience was traumatic and awful. Vet bluntly said my cat was dying, with no emotion. When my cat was taken back to have an iv placed, I could hear my cat screeching in fear. When the vet tech brought him back in the room, she was angry and only spoke to me once I asked what had happened and why my cat was screeching and breathing hard. It took the vet forever to come back in the room to euthanize him, while I tried to calm my cat down while crying. No compassion from the vet or the vet techs when he was finally euthanized. When we have had a pet euthanized, our current vets lights a candle in the reception so that clients and staff know and people are respectful and quiet. I had to listen to staff loudly laughing and joking around while I in tears saying goodbye to my companion. To top it all off, they forgot to call me to pick up his ashes when they were ready. I had to call them Reception tried to tell me that they had called me multiple times which was an absolute lie. I will never take any of my other pets here. We have had much better service in other emergency vets across the city, and I would gladly drive to Alta Vista than ever step foot in this clinic again.

Regarding the paw print, our records show two emails were sent—one when the item arrived and a follow-up a month later. That said, we agree a phone call would have been more appropriate, and I’m very sorry this caused you additional distress. We’ve since updated our system to send automatic notifications when memorial items arrive from Gateway.

I'm also deeply sorry you felt a lack of compassion from our team. While many of the individuals involved are no longer with us, we’ve implemented additional training to ensure all staff approach these sensitive moments with care and empathy.

Expérience négative: My experience at this vet clinic has been nothing short of a nightmare regarding clear communication & billing, in which I don’t want it to happen to anyone else. My cat was admitted for a urinary blockage. The staff were friendly at first and gave frequent updates, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, instead of being able to focus on my cat’s health, I spent the entire four days stressed, confused, and frustrated by the inconsistent and unclear communication especially around billing. From the start, no two vets or vet techs gave me the same information. I was first given an invoice for the initial assessment which was clear and straightforward. Once it was decided my cat would need to stay, I was told the original invoice would roll into a new one. A couple days later, I got a call saying his catheter had been removed but he wasn’t urinating still & had declined, so they needed to replace it. I was told I still had $2,200 credit on my current invoice so it would only cost $200 more—fine. When I went in person to discuss, the vet told me that the 2nd catheter meant another 24 hours of hospitalization. I asked several questions about his condition and prognosis, but the vet was vague. I understand that they can’t definitively know how he might recover or what his quality of life may be but the vet is reluctant to provide any professional opinion or information. He also said I couldn’t see my cat since he was just sedated, understandable. But, minutes later, a vet tech offered to let me see him, contradicting what I’d just been told. The billing confusion got worse. In the span of that one visit through 1 vet & 2 vet techs, I was told I owed $2,400, then $950, $200, then—after signing paperwork—suddenly $500. The explanations kept changing depending on who I spoke with, and charges weren’t being disclosed after I had already signed. Meanwhile every conversation I’ve had since then I made it clear I couldn’t afford any further hospitalization beyond the agreed 24 hours. Despite that, they asked to keep him another 12 hours on top of the extra 24 hours. Even the timing of his “24 hours” was inconsistent—depending on who I asked, it ended either Saturday at midnight or Sunday at noon. Cause apparently I was actually invoiced for 12 hours not 24, which I found out at 1am. Then I get a call saying I can bring him home but then it turns out not even 2 hours later he’s blocked again & the best option is to euthanize him. Which it took well over an hour after getting there before we could actually see my cat & begin the process. The entire process left me mentally exhausted & angry. I felt like I had to track every detail myself meticulously about my cat’s care and the costs—was inconsistent, incomplete, and constantly changing. I should have only been concerned about my cat but instead I was preoccupied in last days of his life being left in the dark while I’m being charged thousands of dollars.

Expérience positive: Edit to add: The client care manager reached out to me and offered reimbursement for additional IV and hospital stay charges. She was very understanding and was quick to review the file and offer a resolution. I will reiterate all of the staff and personnel were outstanding, informative and friendly, truly 5 star service; however, I will keep my review at 4 stars. The costs associated with the service and the oversight even after an X-ray was taken are holding me back from a perfect review. Thank you to the whole Eagleson Vet Team for your care in an emergency situation. Original post/previous 2 star review: This review took a lot of courage for me to write… the communication and staff were excellent (hence the 2 stars) but I can’t get over the costs and mistake on their part. I was charged over 6K for two cystotomy surgeries that should have only been 1… my dog was healing and I was told surgery went really well only to receive a second call saying they would need to operate again! I was charged with 2+ extra 12hr care fees/associated costs due to this second surgery that shouldn’t have happened in the first place… as a mom it was a hard hit and I am still trying to recoup. Go figure this all happened on the May long weekend and my regular vet was closed so this was one of my only options.

Expérience fantastique: I brought my cat in this morning for an emergency appointment for signs of urinary issues. The office is clean, organized and comfortable for pet and owner. I was seen quickly and my cat was brought back before I finished even filling out the forms so he could be seen as soon as possible. I was given the opportunity to accept or decline any of the treatments and tests we went forward with, and the team was incredibly transparent right from the start about fees and wait times. I felt that the staff listened to my concerns, were considerate of my and my cat's comfort, and made me feel very much at ease. Will definitely be keeping Eagleson as my regular emergency clinic.

Expérience positive: I've had excellent vet service for my dog over the last year or so especially from Dr. Pulman. Front staff are great. The issue seems to be prices gave been greatly increased for the almighty profit and it seems the place has been restructured to the point efficiency is lost and the extra time needed for a vet to call back or email a client after the service for clarification on issues has been sacrificed. I had highly recommended eaglson vet, but I won't be doing so now. Price increases and clearly loss of time with a vet and upselling reduce the rating here. Today I may give a 2 star after hearing some stories

Expérience fantastique: What a great experience at Eagleson Vet Emergency today. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Dr. Nazr was excellent with Copper. He spent the required time and we never felt rushed. His integrity was second to none. An xray was going to expensive. He willingly acknowledged that it could wait till Monday and be done at my vet who charges far less. Dr. Nazr wrote a detailed report with all instructions on it. I was blown away by his honesty. I explained to him that any tests unless necessary today would be done at my vet as I had another dog recovering from a dorsal laminectomy with fusion (spinal surgery) that cost over $15,000.00. He did not try and push that the tests be done at his clinic. Thank you Eagleson Vet. Few clinics in my vast experience have ever been this honest.

Expérience fantastique: This clinics is great. We took our Golden in yesterday about noon as he was lethargic but could not get comfortable. It is a 24/7 clinic and we were seen in triage in about 10 minutes. A vet saw us within the hour. Dr. Nasr gave him a thorough exam. He was very caring and spent time getting to know our Finnigan. Luckily all was well but we were given peace of mind. Fee was very reasonable. I would definitely recommend this clinic.

Expérience positive: This was quite literally the worst experience of my life at this clinic, and my pet unfortunately suffered. When my cat presented to the clinic, he was urinating frequently but was not blocked. They expressed his bladder to ensure as much, then left us in an appointment room for 7 hours to “wait for the bladder to refill” instead of sending us home, or using the expressed bladder urine to test. I was the one to ask at 5am if we could leave and get a call when he was ready to be picked up. I picked him up the following afternoon, and was told his RBC and WBC were elevated (my regular clinic told me they actually weren’t) and that his bladder was extremely inflamed. They also showed me an xray with a stone in his bladder. They gave me antibiotics and two pain killers and NO ANTI-INFLAMMATORIES. When he was still frequently urinating (every 2 minutes) a couple days later, we called back and requested that they prescribe an anti-inflammatory for the bladder, they responded that he will not be prescribed one and to “continue to monitor”. This was frustrating as he was also trying to lick his genitals and we had to put a cone on him, which stressed him out more, and created a vicious cycle of urinating, trying to lick, etc. Luckily, we were able to get an anti-inflammatory from his regular vet clinic, who prioritized us on the weekend, and he has since improved so much he was removed from one of the pain killers that Eagleson provided. Also, on his xray his regular clinic noticed he was VERY backed up and also didn’t recommend a probiotic for him! FURTHERMORE, today I received a surgery consult from Capital City, which was for a completely different owners pet, which had my email address & phone number on it. What a huge breach of confidentiality for the other owner. Highly disappointed in Eagleson Vet Clinic. Please do better for our furry friends!!! Edit: Holly from Eagleson reached out to myself and made this experience right ☺️ I will definitely use Eagleson again in the future, should I need emergency care. Although this experience was rough, their staff are extremely compassionate and reasonable, and I’m grateful!!

Expérience positive: Very fast service, good communication, staff empathetic and kind. There was no french-speaking employees on site (should be at least one employee per shift at least). The only thing I was disappointed about is the way he was shaved; he is showing a lot of irritation as it was shaved to the skin… I understand that he had to be shaved due to his explosive diarrhea, and you are not groomers, but this is one thing I would have to say. Also, I had completed the intake form with all my infos (including Trupanion policy number) but I had to remind it 3 times for the staff to send the estimate before my payment. Not a big deal, but just wanted to let you know. Overall, satisfied with the service. Glad I had insurance as the bill was pretty high. Thank you for taking care of Louky!

Expérience fantastique: Our puppy was diagnosed with parvovirus and came dangerously close to not making it. It was such a scary and emotional time for us. She spent 10 days in the hospital, and there were at least three moments when things got really serious. But thanks to the incredible care she received from the team here, she made it through and came home. The veterinarians and technicians were not only professional and knowledgeable but also genuinely caring and compassionate. They kept us updated every step of the way, even late at night or early in the morning. We could really feel how much they cared about her and how dedicated they were to helping her recover. Everyone at this hospital truly seems to love animals. Every time we come back for a check-up, our puppy gets so excited to see them—she wags her tail like crazy! That kind of reaction says everything. It’s clear she felt safe, loved, and well taken care of during her stay. She’s still recovering, but she’s eating well, playing, and back to her happy self again. We’re incredibly grateful to the whole team for giving her a second chance.

We cannot say enough good things about how caring, understanding and thorough the entire staff was during our visit. We were incredibly fortunate to have Dr. Bekker as our emergency veterinarian. We couldn’t have asked for better care. From the moment we met her, Dr. Bekker was friendly, compassionate, and gentle—not just with Molly, but with me as well. She took the time to explain everything clearly, making sure I understood what was happening and what our options were. I knew right away that this was someone I could trust to take excellent care of my Molly—and she absolutely did. It’s never easy facing a medical emergency with your pet, but Dr. Bekker made a frightening situation so much more bearable. Expérience fantastique: We wet to the vet thinking our little Missy will not be returning with us. Dr. Maher was very patient with Missy. He understood her anxiety was through the roof. In a time of uncertainty, he reassured as that she can be managed and the episodes of back legs acting like they are paralyzed for a second; including the pain she feels when she lies down. Of course in life there aren't any guarantees, still a chance she will not respond to the medication which means we would have to seriously look at easing her pain. From 8 weeks to one to 15yrs, she isn't pur pet, she is our child, a member of the family. This clinic understands that. You can tell they are there to put our pets first and the caring they so is beyond what I have seen about certain vet prior to Eagleson. They even texted me 2 days later (this morning). Asking how is she doing, do we have any questions and call them if we need anything. This clinic is an emergency one also of all hours! All clinicas should be like Eagleson!

From the moment we arrived, the reception staff greeted us with warmth and understanding, fully aware of the difficult situation we were facing. Expérience négative: Horrible experience our dog was hit by a truck being the open closest vet we rushed him down we were hit with nothing but amounts exceeding $5000.00 just to have him kept comfortable after getting funding threw their pet lender we were told it would be another 3-5 thousand dollars for a surgery we made the choice to euthanize without being aware that we were approved for enough funding to cover the whole process. Our dog could have came home with us but instead I’m left with an 8 year old girl carrying his collar around in a blanket!

Expérience fantastique: EDIT: i made the difficult decision on Friday June 13th to let my baby boy go so that he wouldn’t continue suffering in pain. Eagleson was able to take me in the same day. everyone that I spoke with showed me a lot of sympathy and let me spend us much time I wanted with him— before and after. I hate that when I found the perfect vet for my boy, it was only for a short period of time. thanks again for everything, Montana and I will appreciate you forever. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - after calling a handful of vets in barrhaven that wouldn’t see me because i wasn’t a client, this was the only clinic i had success with. my frenchie Montana is going through a possible disc injury in his neck that happened suddenly and his pain got progressively worse over the weekend. i called in to eagleson on monday morning in tears because of his non-stop yelping, and reception booked me in for a 10:30 AM appointment and even told me that i could come into the clinic as soon as possible so he could be triaged and seen earlier. the urgent examination fee was $235 and i needed a $100 deposit to secure the appointment. but i was desperate at that point and i really appreciate that they were upfront about the fees during the call. i walked into the clinic in tears and reception immediately acknowledged me and called Montana by name before i even said anything. the doctor was very friendly, explained the possible reasons for his pain and provided me with multiple solutions. i ultimately decided to go with a mix of pain meds, anti inflammatories and muscle relaxers because that was the best solution for me financially. the doctor also took the time to advise me of the next steps and what to look for if the situation doesn’t improve. i honestly appreciate everything that everyone did at Eagleson, they made me and Montana feel comfortable and cared for. the yelping has reduced a bit since bringing him home and i hope that these meds and strict crate rest will be all he needs to get back to his usual self. thank you again.

Expérience fantastique: My cat has been to this vet a ton (unfortunately lol) but the staff here make it so much easier and smoother to deal with a stressful situation. Everyone is always kind and helpful and I really appreciate all the effort that goes into making my cat and myself comfortable throughout everything. I also never feel like I’m being overcharged and they are very upfront about every cost and will try to make it as painless on the wallet as possible. You guys are the best!

Expérience fantastique: After a long and very happy life, my sweet boy Titan crossed the rainbow bridge a few days ago. Our phenomenal vet, Dr Maher, had to give us some really bad news and did so with grace and compassion. The whole team allowed us to spend much needed time saying goodbye to our boy and handled the difficult parts with such love and care. I could tell that they only wanted what was best for our boy and also us as a family. Knowing Titan’s last moments were so full of love and surrounded by the people he loved (and the team that he didn’t but still cuddled up with) is a gift I could never repay. Thank you to everyone on staff, you are so appreciated ❤️

Expérience fantastique: This clinic has a special place on my heart ❤️. A year ago my cat ‍⬛ became so sick suddenly. He was a rescue from Egypt without eyes and old. They discovered he had an illness and there was nothing to do as he stopped eating too. I had to take the difficult decision to say bye. The doctor and all the team was the most compassionate people I’ve ever met. I was alone and crying and I felt supported by the team. They after sent me two cards where all the team wrote messages, It means a lot to me and I keep them on my wall. It helps me to remember my beautiful boy ‍⬛ and all our lovely moments. I never send a message back, but THANK YOU. I know you continue taking care of many many furry loves. . All of us are grateful for your excellent work ♥️

Expérience négative: Edit! The manager called me right away about our experience, and let us know it would be worked on! She offered to look at our puppy as well and go through other options as well! Very disappointed. We’ve been going here since we got our dog 10 years ago, the last few times I have felt the vets are trying to upsell me on everything… less about how to help in that moment more about how much money they can make. The moment we said we only wanted to get his specific shot the very was cold and barley spoke to us.

Expérience fantastique: Eagleson Vet is not our usual vet clinic but over the past few months we had 3 visits for our cat, Ninja. Ninja unfortunately was dealing with urinary blockages in February & April. Both times we were treated wonderfully & with great care. Unfortunately our last visit & hospitalization in April, Ninja was suffering from kidney failure due to the blockage & we had to make the difficult decision to let him go. They did everything they could to help him but his little body could not recover. We appreciate the kind care & compassion we received from Dr Alramady & the entire team. It was a difficult night saying good bye to our boy & it was so nice to have such kindness shown to us. Additionally the card that was sent to us, thank you. I really cannot say thank you enough for how Ninja & our family were treated.

Expérience fantastique: I brought my sick cat October of last year who has been a patient for 2 years now to the urgent care. They did a physical exam, ran tests and were unfortunately unsuccessful at giving fluids because my cat was so anxious. In the end I paid around $640. 1 month later I asked to pick up more revolution plus and they told me over the phone I had to bring my cat in for a physical exam (costing $140) before they could provide it to me. I told them she had one a month previous but they insisted that was for urgent care and didn’t count, my cat was still due for her yearly physical which made no sense to me. They already weighed her, took temperatures and palpated/auscultated her organs and yet they wanted me to pay again for the same thing just to pick up her flea treatments. It felt like a money grab and it felt really disrespectful. Before this I had only good experiences but it made me ask myself why I was bringing my cat to a vet like this. Edit: They reached out to me and clarified that I was given the wrong information due to a misunderstanding. I’ve changed my rating to reflect my satisfaction with their prompt response and handling of the situation.

Expérience fantastique: Where do I even begin… I truly cannot recommend this clinic enough. The compassion, care, and quality of service they showed our sweet Gigi is something we will never forget. We are so so grateful. We originally brought Gigi in for a check-up because we just had a gut feeling something was off. That visit turned into a diagnosis of pyometra — something that could’ve been life-threatening if not caught in time. From that moment, the team at EVC made did everything that they could to make sure we knew all our options and came up with a care plan that was best for Gigi. A very special thank you to Ariel — you were such a calming presence during an incredibly stressful time. You helped us feel comfortable and confident leaving Gigi overnight for surgery and recovery, knowing she was in the best hands. Dr. Loi, thank you for your incredible knowledge and patience — you took the time to explain every detail, every step, and we never once felt rushed or left in the dark. Also, during our most recent visit, they use an AI tool to record the doctors conversation with us and we received the meeting bullet points along with the recommended care after leaving. This works great to refer to The veterinarians are consistently excellent, and we always feel our pets are in the best possible hands. Expérience fantastique: Fantastic animal hospital, wonderful vets, technicians, nurses and receptionists. They saved the life of my doggo. I don’t like paying vet bills but if you are going to do it you might as well get the best. This facility is better than a lot of Canadian human hospitals. I might just check myself in here when i get something wrong with me!… 5 star 10/10 Awesome!

Expérience fantastique: We had to take our dog here for an emergency in the middle of the night. They were so helpful over the phone and were amazing when we came in. We ended up having to put our older dog to sleep and the entire staff was incredibly compassionate and had a room that was private and comfortable for him. We’re so appreciative of the care they provided.

When I needed a medication for my dog and the vet we went to did not have it, they came through for us both times. They work to help our pets and care for our fur babies as much as we do. Expérience fantastique: Eagleson Vet Clinic is THE vet to go to. When I adopted a senior dog, I knew we would be needing frequent and timely care, and Eagleson pulled through every single time I called, seeing us within a few hours tops and greeting us with eagerness to help. My sweet Fritz was always welcomed warmly, and care was provided with great consideration for what’s best for him, and what we want for him. All tests possible were always offered when we visited Eagleson Vet, and the decision to perform such tests was always completely mine, and well respected. When the time came for my old boy, I was panicked, and it was the middle of the night. I knew we were at the end of the line, and Eagleson not only was open for us at 2:30am, but took excellent care of us. I felt so taken care of by Mykenzie, the PHENOMENAL night vet tech, who was empathetic and ensured the physical (and emotional!) wellbeing of my dog, AND me. She and the incredibly kind vet on staff ensured the process was understood, and not scary. They made sure to offer water, tea, dog treats, and blankets for both dog and owner. I cannot express in words my gratitude that my pup got such outstanding care down to the very last moment. As a 24 year old, first time pet owner, with an old dog at that, I had zero anxieties about saying goodbye to my pet, and that’s 100% thanks to Mykenzie and the Eagleson Vet team. We were able to be comfortable and take our time sending my Fritz across the rainbow bridge. THANK YOU for caring for us both, until the very end. I would recommend to every dog owner in the area to choose Eagleson Vet Clinic for honest, compassionate, quality care. Fritz loved you guys :)
