Fantastic experience: I’ve been bringing my dog here for a few years now and I honestly couldn’t be happier with the care my dog Flint has received. The vet tech staff and vets are always kind, patient, and take the time to explain things in a way that actually makes sense without making you feel rushed or dumb. Recently, my dog had a pretty intense reaction to a tick bite and they got me in within a couple days. I knew that my dog had an overactive immune response to tick bites but they still explained it further which really helped me understand what was going on instead of just guessing or worrying. They walked me through what to watch for and how to handle it if it happens again, which gave me a lot of peace of mind. You can tell they genuinely care about the animals and aren’t just trying to rush you in and out. Every visit has been a good experience, even when it’s stressful and my dog has always been well taken care of here! I definitely trust them with my dog and would recommend them to anyone looking for a vet who actually cares. Thanks for always looking after my boy South Windsor Animal Hospital ❤️

Fantastic experience: Everyone took really great care of Max, described all the vaccinations and upcoming changes in nutritional needs so nicely. I felt that he was well taken care of during our visit which is really important to me and my children.

Positive experience: I would give them 5 stars but we told the vet about how dirty our new kittens ears are and they seemed to rush our visit and the ears are very dirty and we are finding bugs and live fleas, they said he didn't have fleas though treated for fleas

Fantastic experience: The south windsor animal team is amazing. Christmas Eve my dog cracked a nail well above her quick and was bleeding heavily. We called and they were able to see her in 30 minutes. My dog is reactive and hates having her paws touched. They were able to take care of her and fix her up. They are great with her. Negative experience: Pet owners, beware: please read this before choosing this clinic. My 10-year-old cat recently had dental surgery here. It was over $2,000 to remove two teeth, the most expensive vet in Windsor… with dozens of suspiciously generic reviews from new accounts. A few days after the surgery, I noticed redness and irritation on his shaved arm where the IV went in. I called the clinic. I was told they would not treat him unless I paid more. I explained that I was never warned this could happen. The manager told me it only happens “0.1% of the time.” Is it really that rare for cats to lick a wound??? At no point did anyone offer me a cone or explain how to prevent this. Now my cat is in pain, he can’t even climb onto the couch. The staff member coldly told me she will “restock the medication” since I couldn’t pay. Imagine, 4 years of going to this vet and thousands spent. Never caused an issue. Only to have my cat abandoned post-surgery. Pet owners deserve more compassionate and honest support. (Clinic responded to my review—>) Edit: The vet did not offer options as they claim. There was no cheaper medication, and they were not willing to give even a discount on the checkup. Actually, the vet wouldn’t even speak over the phone. The manager or whoever hung up in my face after we had a conversation about how I can’t pay. Then they ghosted me while my cat was sick due to their own lack of care and communication. This clinic is large and successful. Please support smaller clinics in our beautiful community in Windsor. ❤️

Fantastic experience: Got a last minute appointment for my cat for vaccinations and also they shaved her matts while there! I am very very happy my baby was well taken care of

Negative experience: Wife takes the cats here. Maybe they are better with dogs, but our experience hasn't been good. Very expensive and always rushing to get people out of there. They also charge more than they quote you.

Fantastic experience: What an amazing place! I thought i was in a difficult situation with my shih tzu. Her paws were matted and she had run through some brush. She was covered in burrs and wouldn't let me touch her. A friend recommended South Windsor Animal Hospital, and I couldn't be any happier. They were able to get us in right away. All the staff were fantastic and caring. They were able to go above and beyond my expectations. I will be a client of theirs from now on.

Negative experience: I really wanted to have a good experience here, but I left feeling deeply disappointed and heartbroken. Overly expensive, unexpected extra charges and very little communication. I understand that clinics need to cover their costs, but there’s a huge difference between running a business and showing genuine care for animals and their owners. I wouldn’t trust my pet’s wellbeing here. Don't trust the plethora of reviews from friends and family. There are much better, smaller clinics around town run by awesome people.

Fantastic experience: Wow. I have never experienced a more caring environment in the “healthcare” industry more than this clinic. I brought my sweet orange tabby Vinny in after being referred to by a friend and when I was in need of an emergency appointment. Vinny was handled with so much care and attention by Dr. Sara Wick and Kristi. Prices were reasonable, but more important than that, I felt genuine love from these two women in their care for Vinny. Follow up calls to check on him, and tailored attention to my grumpy guy were enough to convince me to never look back when choosing a new long-term vet for my fur baby. After trying several vets in town and feeling less-than appreciated, I’m so mad it’s taken me so long to discover this gem. Please don’t hesitate, make the switch to South Windsor Animal Hospital, or, if you’re a new fur mama/ papa —this is the place!

Fantastic experience: have been bringing our dog to South Windsor for 10 years now, and we have always received excellent service, however today, they went above and beyond in my opinion. Our 12 year dog needed dental surgery and I was very nervous. When I got there this morning Kristi greeted me with a smile and explained everything to me, I was crying my girls is 12 I was worried, Kristi saw this and knew exactly how to make me feel better. Then there was the Dr, Cassandra Zafrani, when we saw her in March I new I loved her but today she was so kind so compassionate and so very understanding of out feelings. They sent us a picture of her so we could see she was doing well and when we picked her up they made she we knew everything we needed to keep her comfortable at home. Thank you to the entire staff for always going above and beyond to make sure we are always taken care of our pups.

Negative experience: Overpriced and lacking compassion. It seems they're better at asking customers to give them positive reviews then actually working for it. Check negative reviews for a better idea of quality of service. My pet had surgery here and there was a particular lack of communication or compassion after I paid. Pet owners deserve care that prioritizes their animal's well-being over profit.

Fantastic experience: I have been with SOUTH WINDSOR ANIMAL HOSPITAL since I got my first pet over 13 years ago. I go nowhere else. My pets have been treated very well. The staff is super friendly and supportive and helpful and very patient. I find dr Shamandy has great respect for his patients and owners. I’m slowly getting to know the other doctors there. I can say honestly that I won’t be looking for any other vet clinic.

Fantastic experience: Thank you to all the staff. I had to euthanize my cat Kitty today and it was one of the hardest things i had to do, but a good decision for her, she was very sick. The staff was amazing, they have so much empathy, they are all friendly and thoughtful, and gave us all the time we needed to be with her before and after. I would recommend this place.

Positive experience: The staff and doctor are nice here but the price is much higher. The first time visit and consultation costs $116 plus tax, cytopoint injection for 40 mg about $145 plus tax, Trio simpatico about $68 plus tax, Isaderm Gel (30G) about $71 plus tax (Pets Drug Mart $37.5 plus tax). Suggest to ask around and compare the fees among the vets, and you will have some ideas about how much more they will charge you.

Fantastic experience: After working with several vets during our 16-year-old cat’s lifetime we are very impressed with Dr. Chamandy and the entire staff at South Windsor Animal Hospital. Our anxious cat is not overly distressed here and we feel confident she is getting the best care possible.
