Fantastic experience: I returned to CAH after leaving for several years...the grass is always greener. In this the grass was greener because it was Astroturf. I'll not be leaving again unless absolutely necessary. Update 3/2/26 - still great, nothing has changed. The Dr. here is excellent. Quick, appointment times are pretty solid considering we are still dealing with covid. No excessive waiting, usually less than 5 min. Prescriptions are filled on site and that too is quick. The office staff is polite and friendly, in spite of being a clinic, it feels more old timey and more personal than like a modern clinic would be thought. I like it. Take your pets here, they're good people.

Positive experience: Went here as my vet asked me to. Staff were nice, not a fan of the wait, someone was in their to put down their fur baby and was asked to wait in the general waiting area where an old confused had to have seeing issues kept commenting on the dog as tho it was a nice healthy puppy. That poor woman had to have been dying inside answering all these random questions as she sat waiting for a room to put her guy to sleep. They should have done better. Also a week after surgery and not one follow up call from either vets its almost like they forgot about us

Negative experience: Spent over $500 there to be treated completely rude by the blonde receptionist for asking a question, that I left in tears. They also gave my dog an antibiotic that almost killed him, and then said I would be charged for new medication. Very rude, unprofessional and push you out the door.WILL NOT BE BACK. DO NOT RECOMMEND. EDIT TO ADD: MY husband went in a few days later to try to clear things up and hopefully make peace and understanding. He was treated the exact same way, and as he was leaving the vet said "you should be ashamed of that women your with for leaving a review." Luckily my husband kept his cool but this "vet" is extremely unprofessional from our experience.

Fantastic experience: My mom’s vet, so caring and is available on his cell phone 24-7 to his clients!! Who does this! My mom had a suck dog and she kept it together because of this team of professionals ❤️

Negative experience: CONSUMER BEWARE $3000.00 FOR DEAD DOG. After what is mild surgery teeth cleaning and moles removed demanded cash was not allowed to dept or pay by visa. Our aging dog developed fluid around her heart and foolishly we believed that his pills would help.When blood appeared in her URINE Dr ,Ajay K. Kaler gave my dog an antibiotic shot, recurred second shot antibiotics shot.Dr.Ajay K Kaler told us she has IMHA needed urgent blood transfusion after she got worse.Then he took xray revealing a kidney tumor.She was so weak my husband and I couldn't watch her suffer. X-ray first not last.All other procedures were cash grabs from foolishly loving caretakers. I CAUTION YOU NOT TO VISIT.

Negative experience: I took my 4 month old kitten to Dr. Ajay Kaler on Friday August 1st, 2025 for a neuter and to fix a prolapse. He gave no meds to bring home, and no after care instructions. I contacted him on Sunday early afternoon after watching my kitten strain to have a bowel movement. He asked me to meet him at 7pm and had I waited my kitten could have died! I took my kitten to Lauzon Rd. Animal Hospital where they gave him an xray that showed his intestines were full of poop he was straining while trying to poop to the point he projectile vomited all over my bedroom. I have been keeping him seperated from my other animals. I called Dr. Ajay back after bringing my kitten to Lauzon and informed him that the stitch may have been possibly to tight. He had told me he was going to stick his finger to push it back in. Dr. Ajay gave my not even 4 pound kitten 20ml of tramadol on Friday the day of the procedure and it constipated him to the point where I had to bring him to Lauzon Rd they xrayed him and reversed the surgery and gave him an enema however they did say he did a great job on the neuter but Lauzon wants me to follow up with Dr. Ajay cause he is the one who did the surgery. I honestly don't feel comfortable going back. Lauzon sent me home with laxitive and gabapentin. The photo attached is the xray that Lauzon took of his impacted bowels. That man should have sent me home with the very least a laxitive!

Fantastic experience: Very kind, quick, compassionate, caring, and helpful! They got us an appointment within the same day of calling and helped us maintain costs while still providing excellent care for our baby!

Fantastic experience: This man is an absolute saint. So happy I found this vet, he saved my cats life and has helped me out so much. He tells me when I’m just being overly dramatic and coming in for nothing lol, or if it’s actually a concern. He is super fair on pricing, he always solves issues with my cats in half the amount of vet visits and at a fraction of what other places charge me. Even if he was the same price or more I’d go to him. You can tell he really cares about people and the animals they bring in

Negative experience: If I could give this place zero stars I would. An absolute nightmare. I don't care what anyone says Dr.Aj talks a good talk and that's it. He has no compassion for the animals at all. I've seen him behind the scenes. They are just about the money to him. They offer over night stays for the sick pets and then leaves them alone for 24hrs. Even when they are hooked up to IV. He also lied to me about staff going there early on the weekends. They DO NOT! My moms dog was on the same urine soaked bedding for 3 days until I finally realized he was lieing and I changed it. I would absolutely NEVER recommend anyone go to him.

Negative experience: Ya at first he seemed to care about saving us money. But doing what he told us caused more trouble an then I got stuck paying for that cost also. Now the animal is still in bad shape. He just didnt seem to devote the time and care we required. He never gave me any diagnosis or anything without me prying it out of him like whats the actual injury. I had to google it myself. I am about to go to another vet for a second opinion but whats sad is he seemed to be nice just considering the condition of my animals recovery. I don't feel she was given the adequate care she deserved. Like to me it feels like the bare minimum was done for my animal the second we said money is tight. That dont mean we have no money and lets neglect the animal. Just means give it to me straight from the beginning. I shouldn't of been charged when I returned with the animal in worse pain and condition due to doing exactly what he directed me to do. Shoulda waived all of those costs. Initially was like 280$ returned and spent double. He was open when no one else was an he did help. Just not enough in my Opinion

Negative experience: If it were possible to give 0 stars, I would. I brought my cat here because of the many good reviews this vet has. Despite all of that, he overdosed my cat on flea medication and then tried to blame me for his death. Inigo was not feeling well when I took him in, but he was lively, purring, and nowhere near close to spontaneous death. Then, the vet gave him TWO veterinary strength flea treatments, to a cat who was already not at his strongest, and immediately Inigo began drooling all over the place and clawing up my arm to try to get away from whatever the vet was putting on him. Inigo was a ragdoll mix, and anyone who knows the breed knows they are the sweetest, calmest cats you’ll ever meet. This was so unlike him and I started panicking. The vet noticed this and told me I could leave Inigo with him for a few hours and told me this reaction was totally formal and (this is a direct quote) “I’m not worried at all.” I didn’t even get to leave the parking lot before the staff was calling me to come back in because he was dying. Initially the vet told me he was having a reaction to the medication, but when he came back in tell me my cat was dead he switched the story to tell me he was so anaemic from fleas that he had “no blood.” I am anaemic as well and I know that is not how anaemia works. He was lying to me to save himself, and pushing blame on me for letting him have fleas for so long (he had them on and off again for a couple of months because I couldn’t find a treatment that worked). The staff were always “friendly”, but in my time of need they showed their true colours. They never called to express their condolences after they killed my baby. They argued with us about what happened and how to move forward. They asked me to come in to sign the cremation form in early September but I got into a car accident and my car was totalled so I wasn’t able to. I tried calling them MANY times to alert them but it always went to their fax machine instead. Finally one of the staff called me and when I answered she said, “So are you coming to sign or what?” I let her know what happened with my car and she was shocked and apologetic, but that didn’t stop her from giving attitude to a grieving pet owner in the first place. Needless to say, I will not be bringing my other cat nor my dog back here. If you read this and decide to take the risk based on the many good reviews, that is your prerogative, but be warned that this is not the first time this vet has been accused of causing harm through negligence and I doubt it will be the last. You never think it will be you that it happens to, but none of us are invincible. This man should be reported to the College of Veterinarians, and I will be glad to do it myself.

Fantastic experience: Never will take my animals anywhere else. Dr Kaler is so kind and thoroughly explains what is going on. His staff is friendly and helpful. You can tell they care about actually care about you and your animal.

Negative experience: Brought my puppy in for her second round of vaccines. The front desk staff are kind and friendly. That’s the only positive I have to say. The vet came in and he has no bedside manner. He told us her health is “okay” and asked what kind of food we were giving her. He pushed the vet’s brand food, told us the food we were feeding her was “cheap.” Our breeder recommended this vet and the food to us. The vet told us that all breeders are cheap. When we asked how the vet brand food was better, he replied that he is paid to tell us how to raise our puppy properly. He also attempted to give her a vaccine that we didn’t want. Needless to say, we won’t be back.

Fantastic experience: Took excellent care of my gentle aging old dog. The groomer did an absolutely terrific job and he now looks & feels much younger

Fantastic experience: Went to this hospital with my kitten, and Doctor Ajay Kaler was fantastic. So attentive, seemed very knowledgeable, and provided good advice. I’ve been to many other veterinarians in Windsor for my two dogs, and none of them seemed as nice. I’ll definitely be back with my dogs and cat for their annual vaccines.

Negative experience: Terrible. This “Vet” is very evidently in it to push for injections and getting your money. Took our cat there for a an issue with over grooming a certain area. The “Vet” looked at it for 5 seconds and said, “It’s a scratch, and it’s infected”. My wife responded and said “How do you know it’s infected?” Any good Doctor should be responding with the answer of how they came up with that diagnosis. He responds with, “Because it’s my job.” What great answer. He then injects him with something to treat infection. The next day I called Walker Animal Hospital, we took him in and come to find out there was no scratch at all. It was an allergic reaction he was having and they provided us with a topical cream to treat it and it is getting better everyday. This “Vet” is a perfect example on why it is so difficult to find an honest trustworthy veterinarian. Absolutely would never recommend this place. Careless in diagnosis. Pushes injections without knowing the issue. Answers a question with “Because it’s my job” Thankfully wasn’t a serious issue, because who knows the situation we would be in. Just terrible.

Fantastic experience: I took my very anxious senior dog to get his nails trimmed. At other places they refused to treat him because he moves a lot and whines. His nails were getting so long and it was so difficult to find someone to do it that we were considering getting surgery for him. The staff at Central animal hospital are amazing! They managed to trim his nails without so much as a peep from him. I would highly recommend Central Animal Hospital 10 out of 10.

Negative experience: Hard to understand the Doctor with mask and heavy accent. The doctor was very quick with the assessment of my cat and ended up solving none of the issues( eye leakage and dirty ears possible ear mites) should of taken a swab of his ears and checked it under a microscope. $300 in medication that didn't work and he is still trying to upsell on additional vaccinations and vet food. Clearly in it only for the money, avoid this place.

Negative experience: I was not pleased with the service I received here. I felt the vet was more about making money than caring for animals. Upon viewing my dog ( not checking teeth, blood work) he informed me my dog was malnourished and tried to sell me the vet food. Also, through the heavy accent and mask, he slipped in a vaccine, I specifically told the receptionist I did not want. Upon taking my dog to another vet the same day, he said my puppy is doing well. He is at a healthy weight for his breed and size. I can not say the intentions of this practice. This is my own personal thoughts and experience. Unfortunately, I understand it must not be easy in these times, but I personally will drive to where I know a vet cares rather than tries to profit .

Fantastic experience: I’m so grateful to Dr. Ajay. Throughout my cat’s health crisis, he was always straight and real with me, never tried to make unnecessary money off me, and kept me involved the whole way through, all the way until the end. In spite of biology working against us, Dr. Ajay’s honesty and sincerity was so appreciated, and having had experiences elsewhere where vets wanted to make money off me, he felt like a breath of fresh air - it felt like he was on my side. The other staff were also lovely and kind.

Fantastic experience: We met Dr Kaler under incredibly emotional circumstances. Our fur baby Neekwa had to have surgery for Pyrometra. Dr Kaler and his staff were absolutely amazing and treated us with the utmost compassion. He recommended a certain food and actually refused to let us pay for the food. I cannot thank D Kaler enough and there is not enough gratitude to send him and his staff there way. We are truly thankful for Dr Kaler

Fantastic experience: After our cat got a urinary blockage we took him to the Walker Rd animal hospital. They cleared it but we were charged $3000 for that plus some tests. They then recommended a $5800 surgery. We called Dr. Kaler and he told us to bring him in immediately. He was there for 8 more days. They let us visit whenever we wanted and his staff are extremely compassionate. Dr. Kaler got our cat unblocked and took great care of him. Even though he was there for 8 days it was no where NEAR what the animal hospital was charging us. When we picked our cat up Dr. Kaler was great. He gave us advice on food to take home and was very helpful. It is rare to find someone in this business who truly cares about the animals and isn’t just trying to make a lot of money. Everyone I know who brings their pets to Central Animal Hospital is a return customer and we will be too (just hopefully not for anything too serious!) Thanks again Dr. Kaler and all the wonderful staff at Central Animal Hospital. We are so thankful that you could help our little buddy and get him home to us.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Kaler and his staff at Central Animal Hospital are the best veterinary team I have ever encountered. I called vets all over the city when I was worried about my dog Cooper waiting a few more days for his surgery scheduled with his regular vet clinic because I could tell his condition had gotten much worse but unfortunately his usual vet was too busy to take him any sooner. Central Animal Hospital said they had a surgery spot open the next moring and told me to bring him in for a quick consult that evening I called, but once Dr. Kaler saw him, he agreed to do the surgery immediately. I am sure that he saved Cooper's life by acting so quickly. He showed us incredible compassion and generosity that night, and at all of the follow-up visits. I will be bringing all of my pets to his veterinary clinic from now on, and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for excellent care and expertise. The entire team there has been wonderful. Thank you for everything you do!!

Negative experience: Had to make an emergency appointment when my dog was suddenly sick and vomiting - hadn't been to this vet before but it was nearby so I could get there quickly. The staff were really nice and got me in for a last-minute appointment before they closed and didn't rush me, which was appreciated. However, the Dr. couldn't figure out what was wrong and didn't run any tests or anything, just gave my dog an injection. The injection was given incorrectly and formed a cyst under my dog's skin, which I had looked at by a different vet a few days later and it had to be aspirated. The other vet confirmed the injection was improperly administered. Judging by the other reviews, it seems this vet has a history of misdiagnoses and missed serious pathologies.

Fantastic experience: Reminds me of how the vet was when I was young. They see you on time and make good on your appointments. The Doctor actually got on the phone with me to reassure that he was ok. Prices are fair considering the ridiculous prices from the other vets in this area. Great place so far.

He goes above and beyond to ensure your pet has the best work up and treatment plan, and continues to follow up throughout and after. Negative experience: Meeko is still "under the weather ". He doesn't appear to be to be able to hear. We are hoping this will remedy itself.

Negative experience: Appointments feel rushed and dismissive. My dog is blind in one eye and he couldnt immediately recognize, even though it's in his file. Wouldn't put down my mother in laws 12 year old dog who is very sick. Kept the dog overnight for "observation" and sent her home with medication. She came back a week later with the same symptoms - couldnt hold her bladder, refusing to eat, dog lost 10lbs in 2 weeks, dog was wimpering all the time. Again he refused. Its cruel to the dog and to her. Really unprofessional behaviour. Will not be taking my dog here again.

Negative experience: I’m a bit disappointed with my experience. It felt rushed and as if information to questions was being brushed off. I saved a rabbit from being dumped outside earlier this year (was found in not so great shape in a neighbours backyard) and was really trying to do my due diligence and go to a vet to make sure everything was in order and taking care of the rabbit as best I could, and asking for more information (such as vaccines, chips, neutering etc.) Rabbits nails were trimmed, but this is when I noticed he had a couple black broken nails and little sores on his feet. Was told this was normal and everything was fine and rabbit was in good shape …. I’m just a bit disappointed as I will definitely have to go to another vet now, and ask about those things which should have been addressed in the appointment. The vet was kind, but I do just wish a little more care had been taken as I was genuinely asking and concerned about what I should be doing better or being prepared for, to take care of the rabbit as best I can (aside from everything you read online of course). Rabbits are smaller animals more “exotic”, so maybe that’s why…

Fantastic experience: Amazing, caring, friendly ❤ Dr. Ajay Kaler and all the staff are Amazing! I'm so grateful for the excellent care they give The Pom Posse *Updates!* The PomPosse and I have adopted a Blind kitten from the Humane Society. Scout went in for his first time visit with Dr. Kaler and his Team. They are simply The Best! Also, today our Mocha Pom needed urgent care for a chronic condition and the Team had me bring him in immediately. He was examined, treated, loved on & sent home with medication. I seriously can not thank Dr. Kaler and his team enough for all they do.

Fantastic experience: I have a 15 year old Himalayan who is not eating at all and also hasn't produced any bowel movements. I originally called my usual vet that told me they were too busy and wanted me to wait until the next morning. I pleaded and explained how long it had been. They turned me away. I called a few places and saw that Central Animal Hospital is actually closer to where I live. From the 1st phone call and how compassionate the receptionist was to getting me in right away on an emergency basis even tho my Prince isn't their patient won me over. I was to go in with Prince at 11am. As I got ready my usual vet called saying we can get him in for 10:15am. I thought about it and decided to stick with Central. I am 100% happy that I did. Not only is the Dr on point with his knowledge but he actually cares about the animals he is treating. Another bonus you don't see these days is he is reasonably priced he doesn't gouge ppl and he tries to keep things cost effective while still being able to treat the animal properly. I'm permanently staying at Central from now on. They gained my trust and I see they're loyal to their patients. I hope the other place which I won't name learns a lesson from this. They just lost a loyal paying patient to a vet that goes above and beyond for animals that aren't even his regular patients. 5 stars imo and I encourage all to go to Central you will not be disappointed in any regard. Great team they have there. I owe many thanks to the entire staff.

Fantastic experience: Im a cheapskate and whine as much as my cat does whenever she has to go to the vet, because it often costs so much. Twice i've been to this vet now and both times the price was reasonable. Also the doc is very good. Staff is nice. Thanks central animal hospital!
