Negative experience: I brought my cat in for his annual checkup and vaccinations and left feeling disappointed with the overall experience. The visit felt rushed and transactional rather than compassionate. The veterinarian did not introduce herself or clearly explain what she was observing during the exam, and communication felt unclear at times. When concerns about my cat’s breathing were mentioned, a chest X-ray was suggested quickly without much context or reassurance. After further discussion, we were told we could monitor his breathing at home instead. While I understand veterinary clinics are busy and must operate as businesses, I value clear communication and a sense of warmth when it comes to my pet’s care. Unfortunately, that was missing during this visit. If you are looking for a more relationship-based and communicative experience, you may want to explore other options in the area.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been bringing my dog here for 11 years and I’ve always had a great experience. I wouldn’t go anywhere else. I moved to another part of Windsor 5 years ago but I still go to this vet even with the extra drive time. I love the doctors and all of the staff!!

Negative experience: My dog has been experiencing a cough/ trouble breathing. We did an x ray. Findings were that my dog has an enlarged heart a long with a heart murmur. He suggests we do blood work as well to see if her heart is ok? $1227.00 spent for bloodwork and x-ray he claims her heart is ok and not a concern and it must be a bronchial cough heres some steroids, $30.00 this should do it. No check up, no nothing after. I know my dog has bad teeth as a small breed chihuahua who has had 8 removed previously so I asked if the teeth may have something to do with these issues. Vet says NO WAY her temperature is normal if it was her teeth temperature would be elevated from infection. Ok, I trust the vet knows what he’s talking about. Mind you he didn’t even look at her teeth and forces me to muzzle my 4lb girl, each visit. I took her to another vet since this problem persists and my concerns for her are growing. They check her teeth IMMEDIATELY and I supply them with the results of x ray and blood work from ambassador animal hospital. Turns out the problems she is having IS CONNECTED TO HER TEETH!! Which can lead to heart issues and kidney failure if left untreated!!!!! Our new vet in comparison to ambassador is night and day. Also the new vet charges $200 for ex rays, why a blood test and x ray cost over 1200 here is beyond me. I feel the vet picks and chooses who he’s going to overcharge and he knew I would do absolutely anything for the love of my dog and peeked behind the cupboard where he has a list of pricing in the room and chose to over charge me why isn’t the list of pricing out in the open where customers can see it!?!?!?? I see the reply ambassador posted underneath my review they never told me to get back to them after he prescribed the steroids in fact my my new vet contacted me the day after surgery asking how my dog is. She had a full dental extraction and guesss what her symptoms no longer persist. Also I see you have nothing to say about overcharging me or why this pricing list wouldn’t be out in the open. Either way despicable practices on your end my dog would have died if I didn’t look elsewhere for care and it wasn’t for nothing those overpriced tests because my new vet was able to use them. I hope you do better with your current and future patients!!!

Fantastic experience: We have been taking our animals to Drs. Anna and Paul for almost 20 years and have had nothing but amazing experiences. Our first cat was definitely not the easiest to handle, but the doctors and staff knew her personality and her behaviours enough to know how to handle her. When she passed, they showed so much compassion for us and for her. AND when we adopted our next cat, they welcomed him in with open arms. The doctors are extremely helpful in listening to all your concerns and patient with all your animal needs. The vet techs in the building have always shown so much respect and have such knowledge in what they do. Highly recommend Ambassador animal hospital!

Negative experience: I had some questions about getting my new puppy up to date with her vaccines and the female secretary was very rude and impatient, she was very short with me and also made a sarcastic remark that was totally unnecessary and extremely unprofessional. I will be taking my puppy somewhere else where the staff is friendly and considerate. Very disappointed!!!

Negative experience: Updated 2025/10/04: "Well I don't know what you expect us to be able to do" is a heartbreaking thing to hear while your pet is a sad drooling mess on the floor in front of you. I had taken my cat to emergency Wednesday night, after she had been continuously throwing up after anything she ate or drank since Tuesday morning. The emergency vet did an xray of her stomach, gave her fluids because she was dehydrated from the vomiting, and an anti-nauseant to help her hopefully keep some food down overnight. He gave me records of everything and advised me to call my regular vet (Ambassador Animal Hospital) in the morning to do bloodwork and possibly an ultrasound to see if we can pinpoint the reason for the vomiting. I left a voicemail with Ambassador to call me back in the morning in hopes of continuing treatment there. Thursday morning comes, and none of my cat's symptoms had subsided. I got a call back from Ambassador and explained what happened the night before and asked if there were any appointments available for that day, only to be met with "Well it sounds like she's already been treated, I don't know what you expect us to be able to do." I'm not sure how fluids and an anti-nauseant are treatment if she's still throwing up and drooling everywhere, but I suppose they just weren't interested in helping her. It's a bit of shame, since I otherwise really liked this Hospital and its doctors, but I ended up going elsewhere and will not be returning here.

Fantastic experience: Ambassador animal hospital is the only place I will ever take my fur babies from now on. I have used other vets in the past and have never felt more comfortable and confident in the care we receive. Not only did they help my best friend cross over the rainbow bridge they also checked in to ensure I was ok. They handle my giant puppy like pros and they are always super helpful and knowledgable.

Negative experience: I came in last week because my dog Luca was very ill u charged me 650.00 for the visit blood work antibiotic and 4 pills which is robbery in my opinion I think you care more about the money and not the pet or customer when they are in a vulnerable situation I came in a week later on April 19 2025 Luca situation had gotten severely worse to be denied service from theresa Luca is now in serious condition took him to another vet cost 1400, dollars now we have to transfer him to walker road to be monitored at 1700 for the first 24 hours then 1100 per night after that hoping he can be saved I cant justify how u charged these prices or denied service to a sick dog I will never give u my business again and I will be taking action
Hello Gus, I am sorry you were disappointed with our service. We only want what is best for each pet and, sometimes, that means sending them to another hospital when our team is fully booked or unable to provide the type of care most appropriate for the situation. We felt a hospital that could provide continuing care to Luca would be his best option, so that is what we recommended at the time.
Fantastic experience: Just got a new puppy and thought we’d try a different veterinarian. So we tried one of our friends used and couldn’t believe how they welcomed us super friendly very knowledgable so this a package that covers everything for the first year with a 20 to 40% discount. They also gave us a welcome package with a free bag of puppy food some toys and information on insurance, the shots he required and the ones that he was going to require. We are very impressed with Vet the vet tech and the receptionist. We definitely recommend this place.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely amazing place. Staff was so friendly and genuinely cared about my cat Shelby. Took the time to explain everything. Actually show compassion, love and attention to her. Front staff Chris and Amanda were very friendly and took a full history of what was going on. Dr. Sekhon was very nice, explained what he was doing and also gave full explanation of what aftercare we should do. Love this place.

Negative experience: I recently experienced a frustrating situation with Ambassador Animal Hospital that left me disappointed with their business practices. As a previous client whose dog Cookie hadn't been seen there in over a year, I contacted them to request an ACTH stimulation test to monitor her newly diagnosed Cushings disease. Despite having recent bloodwork and examination results from another veterinarian that I was willing to share, the staff insisted I pay an additional consultation fee on top of the bloodwork costs. When questioned, they claimed this was required by veterinary bylaws, which upon my own research, proved to be completely untrue. I find it unconscionable that a veterinary practice would resort to lying about regulations to justify unnecessary charges, especially when dealing with pet owners who are already managing their pet's medical expenses. The CVO regulation requires "sufficient knowledge" of the animal and "medically appropriate and timely visits," but does not specifically mandate that the animal must have been seen within the last 12 months that is a lie that you continue to repeat. This sufficient knowledge can be ascertained from the blood work that is done at another clinic. If that was actually true you could have pointed to the specific section of the RR.O. 1990, Reg. 1093 the current regulation governing veterinarian.

As per CVO regulations, we are required to have seen a pet within the past 12 months before administering any medication, including those needed for specific diagnostic tests. Since Cookie had not been seen at our clinic in over a year, an examination was necessary to proceed with the requested ACTH stimulation test. This policy is in place to ensure we have the most up-to-date understanding of a pet’s health before administering any medications or conducting tests. We understand that managing a pet’s medical needs can be overwhelming and we regret if this was not communicated clearly. Fantastic experience: Ambassador animal hospital has been assisting me with my loved fur pups for past 10 years atleast. Very helpful with any questions or issues I've had. Miss the cards they used to give but new app makes things helpful for information on little ones. Highly suggest for all breeds of dogs. Can only attest to the dog life.

Negative experience: Only come here if you make over 100k a year or your pet is actively dieing. Theyre prices are ridiculous, tried charging me 120 dollars to comb my second cat to check for fleas after I had paid 120 dollars to check up my first cat! Additionally, they charged like 700 dollars plus tax to neuter my cat. The amount they charge is unreal. This is a hospital first and foremost, for emergencys. They're response is also BS, I called three vets at random and all of them dident charge more then 200 for a neauter. And they're checkup fees were also lower by 40 dollars.

Fantastic experience: I am so happy and THRILLED to have FINALLY found a knowledgeable vet that ACTUALLY CARES AND LISTENS! I have had so many tragic experiences with brutal veterinarians that don't have common sense, or a smigen of compassion for the pet or parent. I thought I was going to have to surrender my dog because no other vet could figure out what was wrong with him. I spent/waisted an insane amount of money this year unnecessarily. I am a 1000% loyal to AMBASSADOR ANIMAL HOSPITAL now! Very polite and knowledgeable staff. It's all around great experience. Fantastic experience: I have been with this animal hospital since I got my dog back in 2015. Always friendly and move fast on getting her in for an appointment when we call. Staff always call the next day to check in on our dog after a visit. Prices have went up tremendously but I guess that's how it is everywhere.

Negative experience: The techs were very friendly and knowledgeable. The doctor on the other hand I found didn't want to be there. I was told I was getting a wellness and tooth exam but all she wanted to do was talk about how dirty their teeth were and not that my cat had a tooth missing and that the gum was red and swollen, I had to bring that up. I had to force her to talk about other health concerns I had about one of my cats and she ran out of the room before I could talk about my other cat. On top of that I ended up paying twice the amount I was told I would pay. I am never going back. Buyer beware.

Fantastic experience: Very compassionate. Great prices as well. We had to put our 12 year old cat down as he had cancer. So I had called a couple places. My wife had always used the animal clinic down the street that starts with a B but I personally didn't care for the service. I called the one with a B to put my cat down and they said it would be $350 dollars. And that was with me taking my cat home to be buried. Ambassador charged me $192 dollars to do the same thing. I brought my cat in. They left me alone in the room to say goodbye to my cat . When I was ready they came in. Did the procedure and the dr waited till my cat was confirmed deceased. He let me stay in there with my cat till I was ready. Since that day we have used Ambassador for our other two cats and they have been great every time

Negative experience: The male vet has his "parking spot" between two spaces in the lot. Makesure you don't park in one or else you'll get verbally abused. The vet techs are beyond nice and the British lady doesn't waste your time. The two other vets there are money hungry and don't care. I've taken 3 dogs there and will never ever step foot in that place again.

Fantastic experience: I've been going to this vet for a few years now... about 4, to be exact. Im almost always completely satisfied by their services and care. They have fit me in when having an emergency almost every time. They are caring and compassionate with my animals and always happy to see my dogs! When my oldest dog had ELEVEN puppies just over a year ago, they were so good to all my dogs and made sure they were all taking very good care of them... Just recently, my dog that I kept from that litter had hurt his knee and they did almost everything they could to ensure we wouldn't have a 3000 dollar surgery on our hands. He's doing so much better already in just a couple of days. I really don't think an emergency hospital would have done the same in my honest opinion, speaking from past experiences. The vet techs here specifically are a Godsend. They are so kind and caring, going above and beyond for my boy. I love dealing with these ladies and especially since they dropped their exam fee I honestly can say I have absolutely no complaints about ambassador animal hospital! Negative experience: To make a long story short, I have never been so disgusted in my life with the lack of compassion for the animals being treated by the lady vet. My Yorkie had a lump on her left hind leg and I brought her in for an assessment. She told me it was a simple fix and off they went. The dog started screaming in pain and that lasted for 4 to 5 minutes. It took every bit of self restraint to keep me from kicking the door in but I knew it would only make it worse for my dog. After when the assistant came in I emmediatly asked if they froze her which to me would have solved the whole pain issue. She said no. I asked if that screaming was my dog. She replied by saying we have 2 or 3 dogs back there. But she nodded yes. When the doctor came out I asked the same questions and got the same responce. The attitude around this clinic seems to be a who cares, and their smirks on the faces was enough for me to say, never again. I transferred to a more caring clinic where my dogs best interest comes first and there is no lack of compassion for your pet. On the invoice at the top of the page it says " We Are Passionate About Compassionate Care". I find that statement to be totally false. I just hope that no other animal will never have to face the same uncompassinate treatment that mine had to face.

Fantastic experience: Are dog had eye surgery there on both eyes the doctors and staff were amazing they were caring and helpful after the surgery and they did not charge extra for after surgery appointments they remove growths on both eye lids and they have heal perfectly if you care about your animals then this is the place to go.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely amazing staff! Everyone was so kind when we brought our dog in at the end of her life. Our family was a mess bringing her in and the techs and vet were very patient and kind with us. They all made a very difficult time for us a bit easier. We will be bringing our other furry family members here for care from now on.

Positive experience: I give them a 3 star review only. 1star for politeness- 1star for adhering to the covid restrictions. The service was at par at best, for every day issues they're a good place to go but for life threatening issues I'm not impressed.

Negative experience: I read the reviews but still called to get my cat spayed, I thought people exaggerated but thats what happened to me. Over the phone: “blood test is 120$ but it is optional”, Made the lady confirm that it was optional 3 times over the phone At the day of my pet’s surgery the vet was like “I can’t do the surgery without the blood work” And thats how we were charged an extra 120$

Fantastic experience: Great place for my doggie since his birth . Dr Sekhon has always been patient, caring & proactive with his doggie patients. I know many who are regulars for their pets for a decade or longer. Their pets always seem happy & well looked after by Dr Sekhon as well. Lovely place very accessible distance from my home too.

Fantastic experience: Our dog suffered a complete tear of his CCL and we were being told wait periods of anywhere from 6 weeks to 6 months, all from specialists out of town and at astronomical prices. We called Ambassador, they saw him the next day and did his surgery that same week for considerably less $. The staff and vet were amazing- professional, honest, caring, and thorough. Our dog made a complete recovery and I would highly recommend Ambassador!!

Fantastic experience: I took my dog here to be neutered. I was nervous despite it being a pretty regular procedure. The staff were so empathetic towards me as well as my puppy and assured me he’d be taken care of. I called at noon to check in on him and was told he was curdled up and cuddling with a vet tech on the floor <3 I’m so glad my little guy was taken such good care of. They even called the next day to check in on him. Such a lovely experience! Thank you!

Negative experience: Very hasty and rude vet. Checked my cat within seconds. No heart for animals. When I asked more questions, the vet got angry and threw the syringe on the table. Rude and no Tact. I went to other animal hospital which no Antibiotic needed, which the vet from the Ambassador Animal Hospital Vet suggested Antibiotic.
Fantastic experience: The hospital was busy and I never felt rushed. The staff took the time to answer all my questions about my 6 month old chihuahua. The vet gave alternatives so the treatment would be more affordable to my budget.

Fantastic experience: Amazing, professional and empathetic. All of you were so great with us when we had to put Cookie down. Even with the covid restrictions at the time, you gave us our space and all the time we needed. We lost our boy/ brother/ uncle, a hard time for my family and you made it so much easier. Fantastic experience: I have been with this hospital for quite a few years as it was recommended by a few of their patients. I was absolutely nervous of taking my pets just anywhere from bad past happenings elsewhere........ I mean my dog is my life.....I absolutely love my dog and cats like my own kids. I have a strong bond with them and they really complete my life. Every time I been there they have been careful kind gentle and super friendly. They always greet my animals by name and pet them. I can only tell you how relaxing it is to talk to people who are informative of procedures and time lines of what to expect. I have an operation booked for my baby girl xena. I cant wait till we can go camping once everything's back to normal. I can only say I apreciate the staff nurses and doctors at this facility for the care of all my pets.......in thankful to know they are in good hands and they will be around for a long while.
