Fantastic experience: I'm so glad that I found Oaklands when I moved here with my 12 year old dog 3 1/2 years ago. Casey had numerous health issues but under Dr. Tom's care they were all kept in check. The options for his care and the pros and cons were always explained and I never felt I was being steered into unnecessary tests or medication. The front staff always managed to get him in if he needed an appt. and Dr. Tom was available through e-mails for questions. Casey went on to enjoy happy, healthy senior years until an extreme medical emergency forced me to face that most difficult decision. Dr. Tom's compassion made that bearable. I know he had the very best care and I can't thank the truly amazing staff at Oaklands and Dr. Tom enough for that.

Fantastic experience: It was a sad day when my aging corgi, Mandi, could no longer walk. She gave me such quality of life for 14 1/2 years. I was an emotional wreck taking her for a procedure to end her life. The entire staff were so kind and solicitous. And I appreciated the card of condolence I received a few days later.

Negative experience: Wow awful front staff. I’ve worked at a vet clinic and am aware of the protocols and procedures with giving out information over the phone. The person on the phone was unable to answer a simple question and when I asked to speak with someone who could. She just said “No.” so glad they are not my vet clinic.

Fantastic experience: Highly recommend Oaklands Veterinary Hospital. My dog needed surgery to remove a mass. The first vet I went to over diagnosed the problem to squeeze as much money out of me as possible. Thankfully I went to go see Dr. Dan Guirguis for a second opinion. Dan was great, ran through my options and removed the mass two days later at a reasonable price. Surgery went smooth, Dan was a pro and followed up with me to see how she was doing. The whole team over there is great, best place in Victoria to take your pets!

They did their best for my cat during her last weeks of life, and Dr. Nate B encouraged me to email and call with questions and updates in-between her appointments. I recently had my dog attacked by another dog and they were able to get him in & stitched up ASAP. Fantastic experience: The staff here are incredibly kind, compassionate, and approachable. They went above and beyond to help us during one of the hardest moments of our lives. My dog was diagnosed with pyometra — a serious, life-threatening infection that required emergency surgery. We were heartbroken and desperate to find help, and that’s when we reached out to Oaklands Veterinary Hospital. Even though they were fully booked, they still found a way to accommodate my dog. They explained everything clearly, took care of her with so much love, and made sure she was comfortable and stable after the procedure. Thanks to them, my dog is now recovering and getting stronger each day. I’m forever grateful for their kindness, understanding, and professionalism.

From the front staff being so friendly and communicative, to the techs and vets being empathetic, understanding, and transparent. Do yourself a favor and bring your furry family member here. They will be loved and cared for.

Positive experience: The front desk receptionists are pleasant. The clinic's variety of veterinarians provides more options. I have visited several doctors and noticed that each has their own distinct characteristics. I personally highly recommend Dr. Williams for cats. Also, you can order food via their online shop, which makes things easier. Edit: from 5 star to 4 One thing I noticed during the SQ fluid administration was that the syringe had a noticeable air pocket. The tech mentioned it was fine, but it still looked like quite a bit of air, especially along with what was already in the catheter. I just wanted to check if that amount is safe for SQ fluids in cats. Also, as a cat owner, I found it stressful that there was a dog barking continuously for about 20 minutes while my cat was in the back receiving care. It made the visit a bit difficult for her (and for me). Lastly, the communication between the doctor and the tech didn’t seem very smooth. For example, another urine test was done even though the doctor had said it wasn’t needed.

Fantastic experience: Real, kind people work here. This isn't some faceless corporate vet with only money on their mind. These are real animal lovers and the only people I'll ever trust, for the rest of my life with my animals. Compassionate, trustworthy and competent.

Fantastic experience: I can’t say enough good things about the entire team at Oaklands Vet. My puppy Maya had a recurring abscess that no one else had been able to properly diagnose after countless visits to our old vet and emergency vet clinic. When we saw Dr. Burniston, he took the time to sit with us and really listen to the struggle I’d been having with Maya’s condition. I could sense his genuine care and professionalism throughout our conversation, and I immediately felt we were in good hands. He went above and beyond to help Maya. Dr. Burniston and Dr. Burke worked together and identified a foreign body in her neck, and within days, surgery was scheduled. Dr. Tom performed the procedure and successfully removed speargrass. He called me personally right after surgery to walk me through what they found and what the healing process would look like. Spear grass is horrible stuff! Every step of the way, from reception to follow-up, the compassion and professionalism of this team has been incredible. Fantastic experience: As a nervous pet owner, I HATE going to the vet! But my experience at Oaklands has been nothing but entirely positive, and I feel so confident that my two cats are receiving quality care and attention. I have seen a few of their veterinarians, all of which have been FANTASTIC. Not to mention the vet techs and front desk employees are equally amazing and helpful. All of my questions are answered enthusiastically and the care that is shown toward my cats (and me!) is exceptional. It truly feels like a huge team effort between myself and the entire staff to make sure every visit I have with my cats is 10/10, which it has been. Also, their prices are more than fair, which is a huge bonus! If you have just moved to Victoria, or you are looking to switch vets, I cannot recommend Oaklands enough!

Fantastic experience: If there were more stars, I would give them! Dr. Dan and the staff (on July 11th) went above and beyond with our senior cat. Unfortunately, we had initially addressed his emergency care with VCA Central Hospital and received no help. The team at Oaklands did every diagnostic test to determine the issue and stayed two hours overtime to perform two surgeries on our boy. The communication was thorough and ever present. We felt seen, heard and completely taken care of. We have been entrusting our pets with Oaklands for many years and they forever have our trust. Thank you

Fantastic experience: My cat’s first appointment today at Oaklands was great! I had a few negative experiences at a previous vet, so I was a bit nervous about trying a new one. But after the positive experience I had at Oaklands today, I feel confident switching my pets over, and I’ll be booking an appointment for my other cat soon! Dr. Kelsey Lee-Gilson made sure to explain the pros/cons of potential treatments, as well as the cost and her recommendations. She was thorough and answered any questions I had. The appointment didn’t feel rushed at all, which was refreshing! The receptionists were also all very friendly and helpful! After I had expressed interest in pet insurance after the exam, Stefanie offered to email me a list of links to companies, with pros and cons. So far I’ve had a great experience here, and I look forward to bringing my other cat :)

Fantastic experience: We've been bringing both our dog and cat to Oaklands Vet for a while now, and we honestly couldn’t be happier. Dr. Alyssa Kreager is amazing with our dog Harley, who can be quite reactive and people-anxious. She's so patient and knowledgeable, and her calm body language and approach make such a difference. Our cat, Dante, sees Dr. Leith Williams, who’s equally wonderful. She's been incredibly thorough—especially with his dental work and most recently a lump we were worried about (thankfully just a lipoma). The entire team at Oaklands has always been transparent, kind, and never pushy. We've never felt like care was second to profit—which sadly can be rare. We always leave feeling like our animals are in great hands. Highly recommend!

I have mostly seen Dr Thornton and Dr Burniston, who were both exceptional, but honestly, everyone I have dealt with - from front staff to vet techs to veterinarians has been compassionate, kind and thorough. Fantastic experience: Been our vet for over 8 years. We moved a little further away and kept going because of the care they put into our pets. We have had some pricey problems come up for our dog as hes gotten older and they took the time to lay out all the options and price points and their suggestions. Your pet will be well looked after here.

Negative experience: Not sure what all the hype is about? We moved to Victoria in March (my cat and I). He’s my bro and my son, so I call him Brosun - not his real name, but the most popular of his 10 or so nicknames. Made an appointment with Oaklands. Not for vaccinations or to look at anything specific, just to establish a relationship with a vet prior to actually needing a specific service. Our appointment was cancelled 2 hours prior because the clinic was short staffed. We re-booked. Arrived for our appointment 10 minutes early and were escorted to an exam room. Receptionist demeanor was cold, but the clinic looks really nice. We waited 30 minutes, 20 minutes past our appointment time. No one checked-in on us, so we decided to leave. It was clear when we told reception that we were leaving that’d we been forgotten about. Don’t waste your time (or your cat’s) with Oaklands Veterinary Clinic. They don’t have time for you; if they say they do, they’ll put you in a room and forget about you. *Update*: received an email apologizing for the “missed appointment” because the vet was delayed. We were in the clinic for 30 minutes; at no point did anyone tell us that the vet was delayed. When we left, we weren’t told that the vet was delayed. It took us coming all the way home to receive an email informing us of this. My cat says that all other cats should stay away from Oaklands Veterinary Clinic.

Fantastic experience: This is genuinely the best vet we’ve ever taken our cats to. They’re informative, patient, and clearly explain diagnostics and treatment options. When one of our cats faced a serious health issue, they supported us through every step and helped us feel confident in how to care for him at home. Everyone here is kind and helpful. We absolutely cannot recommend them enough!

I really appreciated their expertise and excellent care as I brought Leo from overseas and did extensive research in Victoria. Fantastic experience: I have been taking my dog Moo here over the last couple years. The clinic has always been able to get us in in a timely manner and have accommodated more urgent requests. I have nothing but great things to say about the calm and compassionate care of the vets for our girl (Dr. Burniston, Dr.Tom, Dr.Hookey). They are not pushy and take the time to make you and your pet feel comfortable with future decisions. We are SO grateful we have a place we can trust to take our precious girl Moo.

Fantastic experience: We couldn’t be happier with the care we’ve received from Oaklands for our 9 year old Alaskan malamute. Our dog has had both TPLO’s done with Dr. Tom within the last year and I can’t imagine having taken him anywhere else. Check-ups, consultations and visits with Dr. Tom are always incredibly informative, and he spends lots of time covering all aspects of any concern, and answers questions very thoughtfully, never making us feel rushed. The clinic was also highly involved with our dog for both TPLO’s during the recovery phase, including in their cost, 2 months of physiotherapy with an animal physiotherapist, as well as frequent checkups and correspondence -with Dr. Tom or the vet technicians- the entire way through, making us feel like we were never alone at all for any part of the process. Dr. Tom clearly places a lot of importance on the quality of his patients care, and we had no hesitations about having the second TPLO done for our dog at Oaklands after having had such incredible results from the first one there. We made sure to do everything the vet and the physiotherapist instructed us to do for an optimal recovery for our dog, and he ended up happily hiking the entire Juan De Fuca trail with his backpack at the 6 month mark post-op from his first TPLO (4 days, 3 nights trip) and there were no symptoms of lameness or soreness whatsoever in his surgical leg. Thank you Oaklands - you are all amazing!!!

Fantastic experience: My cat was a little scared to get micro chipped but the staff handled him with care. Friendly vets. Was quiet around 7pm and only saw a couple of others there, so if you have a pet that is scared around other animals that might be a good time to go.

Fantastic experience: Can’t recommend this clinic enough!!! I was very worried about my cat and phoned them in the morning, got an appointment 2 hours later and surgery done the same day!! The entire team was amazing and made us both feel comfortable right away. I was given all the explanation I needed to make an informed decision about Gigi and they all took great care of her! Extremely grateful to have gotten to meet Dr. Piercy and the team.

Negative experience: Was a loyal client having taken 5 pets in total to them since shortly after they opened years ago. Recommended them to at least 6 of their current clients. Missed an appointment the other day because of an emergency meeting at work and was told I would be charged $60 dollars before they would see any of my pets again, zero tolerance policy, even though I spend $200 on this pet alone every 3 months because of recurring health issues. Never missed an appointment or even been late before! Spoke to office manager and explained situation, no dice. Be prepared, no matter how long you’re a client or how many pets you take there, this will happen to you! I guess they don’t need my business, so I am returning to my old vet, even though they are further away.

Negative experience: Termination of Client Relationship: The clinic allows front office staff (Stefanie) to be highly disrespectful and abuse patients, and without properly looking into situations, “carefully” terminate relationships. Please be cautious not to get on her bad side. Apparently appeasing her is far more important than having a proper relationship with clients. I have personally seen her be unbelievably rude and aggressive to other patients many times as well. Stefanie has also made booking appointments close to impossible, while my puppy has significantly struggled. Apparently her issues with me were far more important than ensuring my dog’s issues with properly addressed. She has done this with numerous health concerns that my dog has had. My decision was already to terminate my relationship with this clinic. I have felt completely traumatized by every communication with the front office and the lack of care they have shown for my dog. However, their lack of accountability and lack of proper care will be reported to the College of Veterinarians of British Columbia. I took the burden of addressing a mistake made by their vet upon myself because I was too afraid to speak up and did not want to be disrespectful. Terminating a relationship with an animal, who is already on medication (35 days to be exact, due to their mistake) and still has not had her vaccines because of that, puts her health at serious jeopardy if another vet cannot administer her vaccines at a sufficient time. Their have a legal duty of care, which apparently they are not aware of. I have had nothing but good interaction with other very good vets in their clinic that my puppy has been seeing for over a year. The only poor interaction I have had was with the receptionist Stefanie, who on numerous occasions has been rude and even raised her voice. I practically had to beg her a few months ago to be polite on the phone while my dog was very ill and I was seeking help. A conversation that literally brought me to tears. Whether I call and try to respectful or not, she already has a predetermined decision to be rude and short. A client shouldn’t feel afraid to call a doctor’s office at any point. It is simply like walking on eggshells. It is not appropriate to end a client relationship because a receptionist does not understand how to communicate with patients. Considering the reviews on your page, all the complaints are about your front office staff. Patients come to your office with very serious concerns. If the staff does not know how to be empathetic, then they should not be working in a medical office of any kind. This year in January, my dog Chloe was seen by Dr. Dan Guirguis, who completely ignored a medical issue (same vet she visited on Aug 21,2024). I have had to take my dog to multiple different vets for months, one in a different clinic and a two in this one, now to resolve a yeast infection and bacterial infection (secondary infection) on her paws, which has caused a huge financial burden. Same vet (Dr. Guirguis) came to the appointment last week unprepared (obviously without reading the file) and didn’t even want to test her paws last time because they were “white”. Please note that the colour of the fur on her paws is white and the infection was on the bottom of the paws, which should already be on her file. I asked for a test and the test was done eventually. The infection is still there and he still hasn’t provided me with the results a week later, nor the actual FULL plan, which he said I would receive last week. A base plan was discussed with me over the phone and my dad who brought my dog. The lack of care and attention has significantly traumatized my puppy, who now has to be on antibiotics for at least a month and has already been in too much pain. Their decision to terminate was made very lightly without any consideration of how a client was feeling nor their experience. I am happy to go elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Grace Thornton is wonderful. She was very attentive to our cat, Daisy, and made her feel comfortable. She took the time to answer all of our questions and didn't rush us. The other staff we interacted with were friendly and accommodating.

Fantastic experience: My dog surgery for large tumor on intestine was done by Dr. Thornton. We got sloght problem with few stiches being undone but it was topical and now my dog is living his life to fullest again. Thanks to the whole team. I highly recommend

Fantastic experience: Oaklands vet is an absolutely incredible vet clinic with amazing practitioners and staff!! They’ve taken amazing care of my very energetic dog and my 20 year old crabby cat. Dr. Salloum has been especially amazing. She always takes the time to answer all my questions. Our appointments never feel rushed and the staff routinely go above and beyond to make my senior cat comfortable.

Fantastic experience: I recently got a puppy and chose Oakland’s Veterinary hospital as my vet clinic. I had no idea what to expect when visiting a but can say I’ve been blown away with all my encounters. Everyone has been so kind, patient and helpful from whomever picks up the phone to Dr. Thornton herself. It’s a busy clinic so it can be difficult to get in right away but the waitlist always comes through! Thanks so much for everything you’ve all done to make being a puppy owner that much easier!

Not only did they take great care of my beloved jack russel, but I felt they went above and beyond to treat her with the love and compassion that I would have while she was in their care. Fantastic experience: I have been taking our rescue Katara (who is also my ESA) to Oaklands Veterinary Hospital since we first got her, and she has received nothing but amazing above and beyond care. Most recently, she was in for her spay. It was a quick process. She went in happy, came out happy, and when the drugs wore off, she was sad for a moment (as she realized the cone wasn't going anywhere anytime soon) but the smiles were quick to come back. The team at Oaklands is phenomenal 10/10 all around!.

Fantastic experience: Oaklands vets and team are compassionate, ethical and very service oriented. They recently went above and beyond to ensure my epileptic lab was promptly and properly treated during travel by consulting with a vet out of town. Very grateful to the whole crew at Oaklands!

From the moment we walked in, we saw her dedication. She didn't hesitate to examine my dog sitting on the floor, as my dog hates getting on the vet clinic's table, but she spoke to him sweetly and made him feel comfortable. She was incredibly patient with Chocapic, who got scared and even showed his teeth when he was upset, but the doctor patiently waited for him to calm down, keeping him entertained to allow the examination. We're delighted that she's our dog's veterinarian and we look forward to continuing with her. Fantastic experience: It makes zero sense to go to any other vet than this one. The entire staff are amazing and the best part of all is it is independently locally owned and operated. These types of vets are a dying breed on the island as nearly 98% of them have been bought out by either Nestle or the Mars corporation. Those folks buy up all the vets on the island and elsewhere in North America because they see them as merely money making machines. The employees are overworked, underpaid, and as a result tend to not treat your animals with love and respect because they are burnt out themselves. Oaklands is amazing and Chris Tom is the Buddha of the vet realm lol. Dan saved Gumby's butt & I love him for it!

Fantastic experience: I'm not gonna lie, I was devastated when our previous vet who made house calls retired, but, fortunately, she referred us to the Oaklands Veterinary Hospital. To date, we have brought our sweet kitties here 3 times, and each time we've seen a different vet, and each time we've been completely blown away by how wonderful each vet is. They are very thorough in their examinations, and utterly delightful with our precious cats. I cannot recommend this clinic highly enough. What a relief to have a veterinary clinic we can trust to take wonderful care of our pets!

Fantastic experience: This office is awesome. The staff are all friendly and welcoming. When my old man cat was slowly fading away they made time in their fully booked day to help him pass peacefully. The compassion that was shown to us that day made me know that even though going back there was emotionally difficult, I knew I wanted to support the business that supported me and my little friend at such a hard time. I brought my new little kitty for a check up and was once again met with such loving and comprehensive care that I knew I made the right choice. They even gave her a complimentary nail trim and sanitary shave.

Fantastic experience: Yesterday evening, we had to put our 20-year-old ragdoll cat at peace. It was undeniably one of the most difficult goodbyes we've ever had to make. Dr. Alyssa Kreager demonstrated immense gentleness and compassion throughout the visit. I had the opportunity to cradle him in my arms as he purred while being sedated, and also during the administration of the final injection. He remained relaxed and serene throughout the entire process. Alyssa took the time to explain each step in detail and allowed us the time we needed with him. Fantastic experience: Had our puppy spayed here back in the fall. All the info we needed upfront, price was fair compared to other places I had seen and had quotes from. Surgery went well, follow up texts, emails, and phone call after she was home to check in and make sure all was well in addition to answering any questions. Incision healed well with no issues.

Negative experience: I went to MacKenzie clinic first with my dog and got estimate for surgery $2500 so decided to shop around for a better price So I called human society and they told me not to go to MacKenzie but go oaklands clinic so I contacted then, they got file from MacKenzie estimate then sent me estimate for around$1000 then I got approved funding from other company of $600? So I decided to go ahead and on Jan.8 I drove there with my dog. After 3 hours Dr called me to inform that she need pull out 4 teeth so I ask how much? No answer saying depend if pull out easy or not. Then after another 2 hours they call me saying my dog is ready to go? Then submitted me invoice of $2500? Minus $600 funding? I was shocked and not prepared for that cost but only for $100 plus $600 funding in case? I tried to talk to 1 of 3 owners I learned but was useless as she was rude and left me saying she was on the phone to hear about price? Which was a lie? Then front desk offered me financing for my balance of another $1000 for 12 months but shock again? For 21% which is 240 extra dollars? I said I can buy house for 5% or car for4% but this owner didn't listen? And again try to lie me to said that this time 3 people listen phone conversation about price? So I left this clinic dissatisfied and felt cheated to promised to not come to this clinic again. She makes herself available, doesn't make you feel rushed, she's down to earth and gives a lot of thought and consideration to your pet and potential impacts of treatment decisions on their overall health.

Fantastic experience: Oaklands is the absolute best! Dr.Tom has been Duke's vet since he was a puppy and the level of care and love he shows to Duke is so appreciated. We would not trust our dog with any other vet. The staff is also very friendly and accommodating, especially if it's an emergency!

Fantastic experience: Oaklands Vet Clinic was absolutely amazing. They are kind, unerstanding and accomodating. The staff is great, and very helpful over the phone, even before booking an appointment. Our 14-year-old dog has cancer, and we were looking for an amputation as part of pain management. Our enquiry was promptly understood, and we were able to schedule a consult followed by surgery within a couple of days. Dr. Tom made sure our expectations were managed, but was very understanding and kind. The surgery went very well. They followed up the next day to make sure our pup was okay. Now our three-legged old lady is happy and sassy once again!

Fantastic experience: We are from Campbell River and have exceptionally well service from Dr. Tom and his vet staff (he did our dogs TPLO surgery and we were so happy with the results). It's worth the travel to know you're going to a vet that seems to truly care (and they are open 7 days a week). We are so glad we found him!

Fantastic experience: Our vet here is thoughtful, considerate and has helped improve our dog's quality of life. We have a pup with bad allergies. The vet here helped to get things on track quickly. She explained all our options clearly, and it wasn't based on the expensive option, which we've found with other vets. Fantastic experience: My wife and I are so grateful for Oaklands Vet. We have been taking our dog here for over two years and they have been simply outstanding. The front desk have been accommodating and patient, the vet techs knowledgable and gentle, and the veterinarians take so much time to make sure that we have our questions answered and that our dog is taken care of. They are fear-free in their approach and never rush our dog's appointment; making sure that here emotional well-being is taken care of. Communication is amazing and they work so hard for their patients. We see Doctor Salloum and she is the best! Thank you so much Oaklands Vet!

Negative experience: This is my opinion based by an experience we had. We have been taking our cats here since they opened as they are just down the street from us, convenient, and close in case of emergency. The most important consideration for an owner and a vet is the comfort and lack of suffering for an animal. Unfortunately in my opinion, Oaklands vet failed miserably in this regard to the point of malpractice. When my cat suddenly, within the span of 10 min went from purring and happy to in great distress we called for emergency help. The receptionist coldly told us that they were "all booked up", giving zero consideration to their ethical duties. She couldn't even be arsed to tell us where we could go in an emergency, just suggesting another clinic that we had not even heard of before. Of course, because we had no relationship to this clinic they refused to see us. 45 min went by while we scrambled calling, all the while my cat was is deep distress, screaming (literally) in pain. eventually, we found out about the Pacific Emergency Vet Hospital, no thanks to Oaklands who could have told us this upfront. By the time we got there, it was too late, had we gotten there immediately there were treatments that could have possibly worked but the delay meant the damage was irreversible, and the only humane thing to do was euthanasia. I will be contacting the College of veterinary for BC and filing a complaint, as well as filing information with the SPCA that their lack of action or direction led to the needless suffering of a beloved animal. Death is part of owning a pet, and it is imperative that pet owners consider the comfort and safety of an animal over all other things. It's our ultimate duty, but we also rely on vets to give timely care, which in this case did not happen, and in my opinion, led to unnecessary suffering and death of a beloved pet. While it was the receptionist who failed, the vets who are partners in the clinic are the ultimate responsibility, at at minimum this receptionist should not be allowed to ever work in such a clinic again. I will make this my mission, to follow every regulatory possibility to ensure she will never make this mistake ever again.

Fantastic experience: The best! We feel that the staff are all very kind and friendly and the prices are fair. Dr. Tom is the kindest vet I've ever met. He's very understanding and empathetic. We feel such relief having access to this clinic after the experiences we have had elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: I have been to many vets over the years, and this is by far the best. My cat and dog have seen several of the vets, and all are fantastic. They are realistic and honest, so would not do anything to your pet that they wouldn’t want for their own. Dr Piercy and Dr Williams are our primary vets, but all have been really great. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: I switched my elderly dogs care here recently and couldn't be happier. I've never felt the guilt or pressure sales that I've noticed at other vets, and the technicians and my vet are always so kind and understanding of my dogs specific needs. They even helped me find emergency care at another facility when they didn't have time to see me immediately. A+

Fantastic experience: The environment is bright, clean, spacious & relaxed with ample parking. We seen Dr. Alyssa Kreager & she is absolutely amazing! She went above & beyond. She showed dedication, so much patience & compassion. Treated my fur baby like her own. She is informative, helpful & answered all my questions. At the end of our appointment, the receptionist had a pawsitive attitude! She was efficient & very thorough on the medications & our next appt. Saint wasn’t fearful at all being there except excited & wanted to socialize with the other dogs. He was tuckered out from the lovely experience.

Fantastic experience: I've only been here with my kittens twice, but both times, we felt very cared for by knowledgeable Vets who are great with my kitties and spent lots of time addressing my concerns. Same with the staff/assistants. I have called a few times with questions, and they were more than willing to discuss my concerns and point me in the right direction. Fantastic experience: Our experience at Oaklands has been great. Our puppy came in for her first vaccines and I don't even think she knew she got a needle. Dr. Thornton distracted her with treats and did everything with as little force as possible. A really positive first vet visit for our sweet puppy. We are really impressed by the consideration to provide a positive early vet experience for our puppy.

Fantastic experience: This vet has been so fantastic. I've been taking care of my sister's cat and they have been wonderful with helping with the registration of her with me as an emergency. And sending her links to pay for the vet visits and I am moving my own cat to this vet clinic because of how the staff and the atmosphere has been.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been a client of Oaklands from the beginning (followed them from the previous clinic). I’ve been through cancer with one dog, dealt with senior dog ailments, and have had to make a difficult decision 3 times. They are so compassionate and accommodating, and I’m always so impressed by the level of care they provide. I have a dog that does not handle vet appointments well, and they always do what is needed to make the visit as comfortable and quick as possible for him. I will never take my dogs anywhere else, and would absolutely recommend Oaklands to anyone.

Fantastic experience: Oaklands has been amazing for both our new puppy and our senior dog. The front desk staff and the people who answer the phones are always so nice and lovely. We see Dan as our vet and he is wonderful. He is personable and you can tell he really cares for all animals. I would recommend Oaklands to anyone, they’ve been so supportive and great.

Fantastic experience: Our sweet cocker spaniel had several irritating lumps removed, plus dental work at Oaklands Veterinary Hospital. Such a positive experience all-around from the professionalism of the front-end staff, the attentive vet assistants, and the detailed explanations offered by the vet, Dr. Joanna Piercy, not the least of which was hearing my dog's heartbeat through a phone app! The automation of appointments and communication plus other aspects of treatment made this a highly efficient process. The vet noted how it was rare to only have to remove only a single tooth from a 12-year old dog, so folks: Brush your dog's teeth, it might make a difference later in their lives! I use Enzadent Enzymatic Toothpaste. The before picture shows the main festering lump. The after photo shows the lumps gone plus a good start on this year's Halloween costume

Fantastic experience: I called around to six local clinics to get quotes to have our cat spayed and vaccinated. This clinic was very straightforward with their quote and was the least expensive. I attended and was very impressed with the staff and phone call from the veterinarian after the procedure. Also there was no hidden fees and the associated cost was exactly what they had quoted. Super professional and they now have a new client for years to come.

Thorough, inexpensive and everyone of the highly skilled veterinarians cares deeply for the animals and is good with people too. When our cat needed eye and teeth surgery they did a fantastic job, took the time to make sure we understood everything, answered all our questions and saved us $1800!!! Our kitty is so happy now. We knew just who to call when we purchased our puppy.
