Fantastic experience: The care and compassion of the staff at this facility was amazing. One of our biological brother cats had suddenly passed away at only 1.5yr old, gave us none of the warning signs that he was suffering from being blocked. It happened so quickly, from a fairly normal morning going outside he had not returned to meet the family after school, I arrived home from work at 645pm and he had still not returned to eat, this was the only sign something was wrong, I immediately grabbed a flashlight and started looking around the property, when I found him a few minutes later I was instantly heartbroken knowing I was too late, wishing I could have known, asking myself why?, how?, what happened? I needed to know. Waves staff were, knowledgeable, compassionate and the Dr was thorough in her examination followed by her explanation. Their time was very important to me in that moment, and I am very grateful for the service that was provided. Thank you. I'm sorry Hobbes! We will remember all the love we shared together ❤️

Negative experience: Waves is absolute robbery. I went in for a consultation about surgery for my dog, I was there no more than 25 minutes, they handed me a 6,700$ estimate which was whatever.. its surgery. Then they had the audacity to charge me a 367$ consultation fee for the 10 minutes I talked to the surgeon. Clearly care more for money than your animal, and I'll be looking for somewhere else to get my dogs surgery.

We’re sorry to hear that you left feeling frustrated. Surgical consultations are scheduled for extended appointment times to allow for a thorough orthopedic examination, review of history, discussion of treatment options, surgical planning, postoperative care, and time to answer all questions. While the face-to-face discussion may feel brief, additional time is spent assessing the patient and preparing detailed recommendations to ensure you have a complete understanding of the procedure.

Our consultation fees are typically communicated in advance of the appointment. In this case, it appears there may have been a miscommunication in the pre-appointment email and we regret if the fee was not clearly outlined beforehand. We understand that surgical costs can be overwhelming and we always aim to provide transparent estimates and comprehensive information so owners can make informed decisions. If you would like to discuss further, please reach out to us.

Fantastic experience: To say we are grateful would be an understatement. On January 27th after just giving birth to my third baby girl I sat in the hospital and received a phone call from my mum who was watching over our kids and our two dogs. She stated that our senior dog Winston wasn’t doing well and that he was incredibly lethargic and couldn’t move. I thought maybe he was just tired and told her to wait and see how he was in the morning. My husband went home when he confirmed that our dog Winston wasn’t going to make it.. he was seizing and couldn’t even walk. We then knew we had to make the horrible phone call to try and find a vet who would be willing to see him asap and likely he was dying.. (back story is he’s had many health issues over the years). We contacted waves and informed them of the situation. They were extremely kind compassionate and supportive. We then made a plan to bring Winston in that evening after we had been discharged from the hospital with our brand new baby girl. We took Winston in holding him tight the whole time. Knowing these were the last moments that I would have with my best buddy. The ultimate best dog. He loved all our children like they were his own. He protected them and never once showed a sign of aggression even when they bugged him endlessly. After coming to the conclusion that he was in fact dying, we then started the euthanasia process. Holding him and crying our eyes out the entire time. Winston was ready to leave this world and he knew his time had come. I believe he waited to meet the new baby.. then he could finally let go and be pain free. As the gentleman he always was he knew life was about to get a lot busier for his mama and he didn’t want to make it harder. When it came time to pay the lovely lady at the front desk informed us that there would be no charge given the situation… we could not believe how much kindness was shown that very sad evening. We are so grateful and feel so cared for during such a difficult time. We would recommend WAVES to anyone who is needing emergency care for their beloved pets. Thank you Waves.

Fantastic experience: First of all, nobody wants to be at an emergency vet. But if you do, waves is the best. They showed the upmost compassion and care to my pup and myself during an absolutely awful time. They vet and all staff were amazing. They acted quickly, and explained all options clearly and concisely. I’d love to never be back, but I’m glad they’re here, helping all of our little pups. I will say, my allergies were really acting up while I was there. I don’t have allergies. Thank you for doing an extremely hard job very well.

Fantastic experience: I took my mastiff in last year to find out about a hip replacement. I met Dr Aoki and was immediately impressed. Deciding to go ahead with the surgery I was further impressed with Dr. Aoki and the staff at waves. Bella is now almost fully recovered from the surgery and is better than she has been in years. As far as I can tell she is pain free. Thanks so much, you have no idea how much this means to Bella and our family.

Fantastic experience: We have had nothing short of fabulous service at the WAVES vet clinic. Our most recent experience our cat had a surgery to resolve a shattered elbow. The surgeon was so thoughtful, walked me through everything, showed me the x-rays while explaining the problem and process to fix the issue. Recovery went wonderful, we could reschedule cast changes in advance to avoid wait times, and they even gave her a cute festive design on her cast over the holidays. Her recovery went exactly as expected, they even did a bonus X-ray at her final visit to confirm everything was healing correctly. We are so thankful to have such an amazing vet service available to us with such caring staff. Thank you again.

Fantastic experience: I went to Waves last night with my dog, Comet, and had the absolute best experience. Comet had gotten into some chocolate, which I know is fine for me but definitely not for him, so I was really worried. I had just turned 18 and this was my first time dealing with something like this on my own, and I was honestly very stressed. From the moment we walked in, Waves was incredible. They took the time to explain everything to me and made sure I felt comfortable the entire time. Money was a concern, and I really appreciated that they went over all the prices with me before doing anything no surprises at all, which meant so much. I don’t remember the doctor’s name, but her energy was absolutely brilliant. She was amazing in every way kind, reassuring, funny, and just genuinely comforting. She made jokes, kept me calm, and was so sweet. She truly deserves a raise. I’ve never felt so comfortable in a situation like that before, if she is reading this the biggest thanks too her! (your amazing girl.) There was also another girl, I believe her name was Michelle who had a trainer badge on. She was amazing as well: made sure to read me all documents, super talkative, very sweet, and just a joy to be around. I will 100% be going back to Waves for anything my pets need in the future. Truly a 12/10 experience. Thank you so much for taking such great care of both Comet and me.

Fantastic experience: Despite making the decision to put our sweet Coco down, Dr Montague, and the whole team at Waves, were compassionate, patient, honest, kind and professional throughout the visit. Thank you for making what was a sad and hard time, a little easier. We are grateful for facilities and people, like this!

Fantastic experience: It was heartbreaking to say goodbye to our 15 year old feline yet somehow I came away feeling so grateful to all the staff at WAVES. The care, compassion, and dignity they provided us and our long time four-legged friend was outstanding.

Fantastic experience: We had to bring in our family dog at 2am, the staff was exceptionally helpful and provided all the information and a variety of options for us to take. The Vet and techs answered all questions and gave possible outcomes for the few options I had questions on. Coming from North Cowichan, it was worth the drive to get our dog looked after.

Fantastic experience: While we are so heartbroken that we had to say goodbye to our sweet Shelby - we could not be more grateful for the team at WAVES. From the start, our girl was so loved and cared for by all there, and they really did all they could to help identify what was going on and giving us all our options. They truly went above and beyond with their care, answering all our questions and keeping us updated at all times. If you have a pet that is going through a hard time, you will never regret going to WAVES.

Negative experience: Amazing team. Unbelievable care and treatment given. Diagnosis was quick and life saving surgery happened only hours later. The cost came in under what we were quoted. They saved our dogs life and we're very greatful. Thank you so much. Octane 2025 update: Im sorry to say, after a recent interaction with the team, that am worried for what's happening at this business.

Fantastic experience: I can’t thank this clinic enough for the incredible compassion and care they showed when my senior bunny suddenly became ill. From the moment I called, the staff were kind, patient, and understanding. They took us in right away and treated my bunny with so much gentleness and respect. Even though I had to say goodbye, everyone there made such a heartbreaking moment feel peaceful and filled with love. The vet and team were not only professional but truly empathetic.

Fantastic experience: I can’t say enough good things about this clinic! The nurses and doctors were so kind and caring with my dog, Kai. They got us in quickly and were incredibly thorough and helpful throughout the whole visit. It was such a relief to see how gentle and attentive they were with him. You can really tell they love what they do and genuinely care about their patients. I’m so grateful for how well they treated Kai — such a great experience from start to finish!

Fantastic experience: I have 3 high maintenance dogs and have been to WAVES now at least 6 or 7 times in the last 1.5 years. Some visits emerg and some not but I have always had a 5 star experience with everyone i have dealt with from the first face i saw who greeted me after walking into the hospital to the Veterinarian who attended to us and everyone else inbetween! My last experience was with my Pug mix Stella, a rescue from Mexico who needed to have surgery on her knee to repair a severe luxating patella. I was very fortunate to have Dr. Koji Aoki perform the surgery. Not only is he an outstanding surgeon he was also amazing with me and my Stella. 2 weeks after her surgery we went back for a quick appt with Dr. Aoki as he wanted to see how she was progressing and also gave me some pointers for rehabilitation. I was not charged for the visit.. We went back again after 6 weeks post surgery for xrays and Dr. Aoki reviewed the xrays that was taken immediately after her surgery and the one he had just taken to show her healing progress. Once again i was not charged for the xrays or his time to review them with me. He is such a down to earth and genuinely caring guy that really does care about his 4 legged patients. Having visited many Animal emergency hospitals over the years WAVES is one of my favorite so far. I love this place and highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: From the initial emergency call I made, to discharge 5 hours later with my Giant Schnauzer, the care, compassion and professionalism was unparalleled. Elska was T-boned by a car and flew through the air in front of me. Although she was walking, the impact damaged the car and she needed to be assessed. Moments after we arrived she was wisked back to be examined and ultrasounded. The care rivalled a human ER. X-rays, bloodwork, observation and a follow up ultrasound. The communication, explanations and expectations were fabulous. I had complete confidence in Dr Linnaea Scott's plan of care. I have very high standards of care after too many years in Healthcare. Every person I experienced or observed in the 5 hours was top drawer. And the visa card didn't even flinch. Thankfully Elska is very muscular and was in motion when the impact happened and she was very fortunate to truly walk away. There is a special place in hell for squirrels however.

Fantastic experience: Went in on a Sunday, as my vet was closed. The front desk staff were extremely friendly and supportive, and we were triaged within 20 minutes. The vet tech told us that there was no cause for concern at the moment and we were able to walk out without being handed an invoice. Exceptional service and policies here, and didn't feel rushed in the exam room.

Fantastic experience: We brought our golden Inn at 10:30 p.m. with bleeding gums that would not stop. The care from Dr Tim Donihee and his staff was excellent, and they made room for us despite being overrun with work. Very grateful for your team's help. Highly recommended.

Fantastic experience: We had to say goodbye to our buddy Apollo today. The staff were excellent from the phone call to the office, helping us take him out of the car, to explaining and giving us time to spend with him. Thanks to the Dr who helped us and stayed with us as he crossed over the rainbow bridge. There is a deep missing piece in our home today.

Fantastic experience: A few weeks ago we accessed Waves for the first time when our senior pup passed away while on our walk. We arrived very emotional and not sure what to do. The staff was extremely caring and helped us through the process of arranging after care. They provided us with a quiet space where we could say good-bye to our fur baby and allowed us to take all the time we needed. Thank you to the staff for your kindness during one of the worst days of our lives.

Negative experience: I can’t speak to all vets at this clinic, but my recent trip where I saw Dr Caleigh Gerow was the worst vet experience I’ve ever had. Despite being early in her career, she asserts herself as knowing everything and made many diagnostic and procedural errors which could end up being fatal for my dog. On the attitude side, she cuts you off and speaks over you and is generally not compassionate which is a very important characteristic of the profession. Here is our situation: our dog ate a small hook that had bait on it. We brought him in with a bobber on it the end to ensure the hook didn’t go deeper. Upon bringing him in she examined and was certain the hook was in his esophagus and that she could sedate him to try and get it out manually. Assuming she had taken an x ray to know with confidence where the hook is I said yes absolutely go for it. She was unsuccessful and proceeded to state my only other option was a $3000-$4000 endoscopy. At this point I had to call another professional in Vancouver to gain another opinion on the matter and he assured me that it would cost under $1000 to get the same procedure done in Vancouver. After arriving at the clinic in Vancouver they asked WAVES to send over the x rays. SHE NEVER TOOK ANY!! How could she have any idea where the hook was without X-rays? It gets worse. In her notes she lied and said the it was over to me and I declined them. This absolutely never happened. Nothing was declined accept the endoscopy. How and why would she go rooting around looking for a hook when it could have been in the stomach, or even further? That would almost certainly be a failure and could risk hurting the dog more. A true amateur with an ego that can barely fit in a room. Without x rays, the first thing the clinic in Vancouver did was take x rays. And wouldn’t you know, the hook was minutes away from being pooped out. Her lack of compassion and due diligence is truly incredible. She did not follow appropriate procedures and falsified medical documents to cover up her mistake. Please avoid this vet at all costs! Oh yeah and as they handed the dog to me there was poo all over him, the leash, and me. Made for a real pleasant drive to top off that experience

Thank you for sharing your feedback, Oliver. We’re glad to hear your dog is doing well. Our team strives to provide thorough and safe care for every patient and all recommended diagnostics and procedures are clearly discussed and consented to with pet owners prior to being performed. We understand how stressful situations can feel when a beloved pet is involved and we regret that your experience did not meet your expectations. Our staff’s documentation reflects the steps taken and recommendations provided during your visit, including discussions about sedation, x-rays, and potential endoscopy options. As mentioned in our follow-up conversation, we value your feedback and will take it into consideration as we continue working to provide the best care possible for our patients.

Fantastic experience: I have had to take all 3 of my pets to waves at some point for a medical emergency when my vet was full or it was after hours. Waves has always gone above and beyond for me and made sure my furry children are always taken care of. I never worry when I come here cause I know all the staff go above and beyond. They are truly amazing here.

Fantastic experience: Took my 3 week old rescue puppy chunk in as he had aspirated, staff were awesome, understanding and compassionate. Although they are pricier than a regular vet they have the skills and expertise to save pets lives. They throughly explained the costs, and even sent him home wirh a personalized medicine bag. Thanks for helping chunk out and giving him a chance to grow up.

Fantastic experience: We are writing this review to express our gratitude to the team at Waves. When the health of our beloved 15-year-old cat started to deteriorate rapidly, they conducted tests and reviewed his medical records efficiently. Dr. Caitlin Brown showed incredible compassion, giving us the information we needed to make a difficult decision, then allowed us time to say goodbye in a calm environment. Options were provided with tact and clarity, and we are eternally grateful for the professionalism and grace shown by everyone during this difficult time. A genuine thanks to everyone at the clinic.

Fantastic experience: Making frequent visits to ER is never a good thing but staffs at Waves sure make everything feel better. They do follow their triage protocols very well, I’ve had experienced waits up to 6 hours as well as immediate care and it all depends on the condition of your dog. Dr Kilpatrick was the first doctor we met on Mozart’s first visit to Waves. He was very helpful and thorough in explaining Mozart’s condition and he even did followed up with emails to check on Mozart’s condition as well as answering questions that I have about other issues Mozart was having. That alone is truly above and beyond service. Another doctor we met worth mentioning was Dr Ziolo, who we met when Mozart’s condition started to decline. I appreciate the fact that she didn’t sugar coat the situation but did it with compassion so that gave us realistic timeline we had left with Mozart. The staff at the front desk were all very friendly and helpful as well. Although through all this Mozart is no longer with us, their after care for pet that passed away is also very considerate. This is a place I highly recommend if your pet has an emergency.

Fantastic experience: We have been to WAVES with our Greyhound a handful of times now and the service has been excellent each time. Yes, they get busy and you may end up waiting but that is the nature of an emergency clinic. Even when the clinic is crowded and busy, the staff has always been patient, supportive and professional in our experience.

Fantastic experience: I can’t thank the teams at waves enough! I had to bring in my dog for an emergency visit and they were so kind and compassionate. My dog is pretty reactive so going to the vet can be a stressful ordeal even when it’s not an emergency. But everyone from the front desk to the vet made us feel so welcome and were so understanding. Thank you waves team!

Fantastic experience: I wanted to give a huge shoutout to Waves Veterinary Hospital. I had to rush my dog to the hospital last night(June 4th). These people were amazing! I've rarely seen more compassionate, kind, professional people. They explained all my options. Didn't push me to make decisions right away. They gave me all the time I needed to be with my boy as he crossed that rainbow bridge. Letting him go was the hardest thing I have ever had to do. But I am grateful to have had 15 great years with Coady. Rest easy, little buddy.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Aoki was the incredible surgeon who took care of our staffy, Salish. Before Salish was 8 months old, Dr. Aoki performed two separate surgeries on our girl. Unfortunately she had severe hip dysplasia since birth and required triple pelvic osteotomy surgery on both hips. Dr. Aoki was informative, realistic, personable, and professional. He did a phenomenal job on her surgery and she has recovered perfectly. His attention to detail will be remembered and praised by our family. My only critique would be for the front of house staff. We were prescribed the wrong dose of a prescription ( given 300mg gabapentin caps when we were prescribed 100mg ) we found the communication between front desk and surgery area was lacking and would benefit from some attention. Apart from this, they were extremely friendly, understanding and good to us. I would highly recommend waves to anyone.

Hi Jessi,
We're so glad to hear Salish's recovery has gone so well! Thank you for your feedback regarding the prescription dose. Should you have any other questions or concerns please don't hesitate to reach out to us directly.

Fantastic experience: UPDATE: After seeing his regular vet following his initial visit at WAVES, Mochi indeed had injured his back from rough play, he has recovered well with lots of rest! I had to take my 2 year old Tibetan Spaniel, Mochi, to WAVES as he was showing signs of being in pain. I was very scared and emotional and worried about him and the entire staff at WAVES were very kind and compassionate. Dr. Gerow was very empathetic and explained some possibilities as to why he could possibly be in pain. I did not stay to get imaging done as it was late and I live in Sooke, but I was sent home with pain medications and Mochi was given an opiod injection at the hospital to manage his pain. After giving him his meds when we got home and letting him sleep in his crate, he was bright and energetic in the morning. WAVES also contacted Mochi's vet, who called me the next day, and he is getting a follow up appointment on Monday. I was not expecting my regular vet to call without reaching out first. I suspect that he was playing too rough with his best friend who is a large dog and injured himself during one of his crazy "chase me" parkour zoomie times. I am hopeful that he will make a full recovery with further rest. Thank You to the team at WAVES for helping me during a very scary time, and Mochi says Thank You too ✨️

Fantastic experience: I had an emergency with my dog last night and the staff at WAVES were absolutely incredible. Dr. Gerow was knowledgeable and kind to my sweet boy. The other two ladies who helped us last night were so kind and caring and made my dog feel comfortable and safe, I wish I asked for their names so I could thank them on here. Despite it being 3 in the morning, all three were happy to help us and did not hesitate to give my dog some love and quality care.

Fantastic experience: We’re so grateful to Waves Animal Hospital for the incredible care they gave our dog during one of the scariest times in our lives. She needed emergency spinal surgery, and we were all terrified—she was in pain and confused, and we were overwhelmed with fear and uncertainty. From the moment we arrived, every member of the team treated us with kindness and compassion. Dr. James, Dr. Goodall, the neuro-technicians, and the rest of the staff cared for our dog not just as a patient, but like she was their own. They kept us informed every step of the way, answered all of our questions, and made sure we never felt alone in the process. When it was time to bring her home, they sent us with everything we needed—clear instructions, helpful videos for her physio exercises, and genuine support. They were also incredibly transparent and respectful when it came to billing. The costs were clearly explained upfront, and we never felt pressured or surprised—just supported in making the best choices for our dog. Waves Animal Hospital handled every part of this experience with care, professionalism, and heart. We’ll never forget what they did for our pooch—and for us.

Fantastic experience: Took my little guy in today for the first time as we had an emergency. I can’t say enough good things about WAVES, they went above and beyond for my pup, the staff were so kind and supportive through the whole process, and the Vet- Luke Winter was incredibly knowledgeable and made sure I knew every step of the process. Fantastic experience: Words cannot express how grateful I am for the team at Waves. My cat had very sudden issues and I called them early in the morning in tears and they took her in right away. The entire staff was incredible and even though the end result was devastating, they were extremely professional and sympathetic through the entire process. I will only take my pets to Waves in the future due to the overwhelming compassion and understanding they provided. This is a great team of professionals and the facility is outstanding. Huge thank you to all the staff in my time of need. Thank you thank you thank you.

Fantastic experience: First time at this vet, as my vet in town was full and told me it was an emergency. Drove an HR down - walked in and the staff from start to finish at WAVES were incredible. They were supportive, communicative and were very helpful. They took my boy in right away, and didn’t waste any time. Dr Katzman was amazing, very professional and very understanding and supportive as well for both my cat and I. He cared for my yeti boy all day, and helped make me feel comfortable through the process of not knowing what was going on until we did. Would trust any of my animals with him absolutely! The picture is what yeti looked like before and then after a couple days of doing and taking what Dr Katzman said too, he is just about fully back to himself! Thank you WAVES. ✨

Fantastic experience: My baby girl (Frenchie) is there right now, for the second time this weekend. They were friendly and I was seen in a very reasonable amount of time in both instances. They called to update me this afternoon which I so appreciated. Two different doctors now, both professional and empathetic. Really seemed to want to make her feel safe, as my pup has anxiety and gets protective of herself when she’s stressed. Peeked through the window of the doors today and saw one of the techs cuddling her in a chair. I’m so grateful for the professional and compassionate care she is currently receiving. Communication has been excellent in outlining risks and what I can expect. The couches in the waiting area are a huge plus. These folks work so hard and have such a challenging job. Thank you WAVES! Not a coincidence I think that the wall art is of a Frenchie because dang this girl is an expensive little lady in every single way! Although I did pay much less than the high-end range of what I was quoted, which was a nice surprise. On an unrelated note - buy insurance for your pets! So nice to be able to just tell them to do whatever they need to make her well, without worrying about the expense.

Fantastic experience: I came here overnight Tuesday/Wednesday with my sick dog Bella. The service was amazing. Dr. Montague and the entire staff are incredibly nice, caring and accommodating, despite the fact they are very busy serving multiple patients. This last week has been very difficult for me and Bella, but she woke up and started acting like her normal self today. I have been caring for her 24/7, bathing her multiple times a day and rubbing her belly for hours at time. I am so happy that she is finally comfortable, snoring loud and cuddling her toys. Thank you all so much for your care for Bella. She really appreciated it and sends her love to you all ☺️

Fantastic experience: Sadly we used Waves in an emergency situation. The staff from the person answering the phone, the front desk person, the technicians and the vet was excellent. My welder lay parents were distraught, this vet team rose above expectations and provided compassionate care to the entire family. We are very grateful.

Fantastic experience: I had to bring my dog without notice, despite their busy schedule they made time to take him in immediately. From start to finish they communicated everything with compassion and gave me plenty of updates. My boy is very sensitive and does not like crates but they took the time to ensure he was as comfortable as he could be during his 24/hrs stay. I appreciate all the staff and would recommend anyone to bring their fur baby here.

Fantastic experience: We are deeply grateful for the outstanding care that Dr. Scott Kilpatrick and Dr. Caleigh Gerow provided to our beloved Hunter, especially on his final day. Their compassion, kindness, and professionalism were truly exceptional, giving us comfort during such a difficult time. We highly recommend Waves. The entire team, including the technicians who supported us in those final hours, demonstrated such warmth and empathy, making Hunter’s passing over the rainbow bridge as peaceful and dignified as possible. Thank you for everything.

Fantastic experience: Dr Adam Hering was amazing. I've never had a bad experience at waves but I have to give credit where credit is due. He was compassionate, informative and gave me all the options. He was honest with me during a very difficult time with my dog who unfortunately passed away a few days later. I just wanted to thank him for everything he did for my little girl Chloe. Both my boyfriend and I really appreciated it.

Fantastic experience: The WAVES veterinary team was exceptionally efficient, kind, and compassionate in assisting us during a recent medical emergency with our pet. Their professionalism and empathy made a challenging situation much easier to navigate. We are deeply grateful for the outstanding care and support they provided. Thank you for everything you do to help pets and their families.

Fantastic experience: We attended Waves New Years Day for an injury our dog sustained. Her injury was a lower urgency so we had a bit of a wait (understandably). The front desk staff were professional but seemed somewhat ‘mechanical’. Probably necessary to allow them to cope with seeing injured & ill pets and emotional owners day in, day out. The veterinary care was exemplary. We were provided with treatment options & pros & cons of each. The resulting treatment was successful and in the best interest of our drug sensitive dog. The cost of treatment felt reasonable given the fact it was a Stat holiday and the amount of Vet’s time treatment took. Overall a positive experience dealing with an unfortunate situation.

Fantastic experience: We cannot thank Dr. Kate Montague and the entire team at WAVES enough for their incredible care and professionalism. Our dog Toro was diagnosed with GDV (bloat), a condition we knew could be fatal without immediate intervention. From the moment we arrived, the team acted swiftly and with such expertise, performing emergency surgery that saved our dog’s life. The level of communication throughout the process was outstanding, and we felt fully supported during such a stressful time. We are forever grateful for their dedication and skill. Our dog is now recovering well, and it’s all thanks to the amazing care provided by Dr. Montague, Dr. Katzman, Dr. Simmonds and their staff. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! Fantastic experience: I can't thank Dr. Aoki and the staff at WAVES enough for the surgical care my puppy Banksy received. They all offered clear lines of communication and were well organized. Dr. Aoki cares deeply about his patients and goes to great lengths to explain things. These are stressful situations but I was comforted knowing he was receiving top notch medical care.

Negative experience: For three days our pup had diarrhea, was vomiting and was subdued. He showed no signs of pain. Concerned we decided to drive an hour down to Waves at 7pm at night, arriving at 10pm. We have been there before and had been treated very well, even when we walked in as an emergency. Jacob greeted us when we came (we registered online in advance) and is a pleasure to work with. Before finishing his shift he let us know the technician was reviewing our file for the Vet, and we would hopefully not be waiting much longer. By this point we had been there for either 2 or 3 hours. We knew we would be waiting a while. We started to fall sleep. Knowing we have an hour drive back home and it was pouring rain out my husband and I started to wonder if we should call it a night to be safe. If we are waiting this long is it really an emergency? Groggy I approached the front desk, now a different staff member was in, Jacob had given us an update and left for the day. It was now about 10:45pm or 11pm I asked how much longer we may be waiting. I was told the clinic was short a technician and we have to wait to see a technician. I said, we have already seen a technician and we are waiting to see a vet. The person went on to give a convoluted explanation about the workings of the back clinic . I was also told our dog was a code green and there are other more urgent patients. I can’t recall exactly what I was told but remember felling brushed off and feeling like our dog is not important. I walked away feeling like there was no reason for us to be there. Talked it over with my husband and we decided not to stay. I walked up to the counter and let the staff member know we decided to leave. The person shrugged and said ok. That sucked, I felt like neither my dog or myself mattered. I had brought my sick dog in for nothing?. Central Vet in Nanaimo was kind and gave us an estimate time wait. They also help us figure out if it is an urgent matter. We have been there before and got the impression the vet quickly came out to let us know our dog was fine. Minimizing our wait time. We care deeply about our dog and feel Central vet gets that. We no longer believe Waves has our or our dogs interest in mind.

Negative experience: On November 16th in the middle of the night we awoke to the sounds of our cat Harley in distress. He had collapsed and was obviously in a very bad way. We rushed him to this emergency hospital and they rushed him off to the back while we signed the required form. When the vet came to see us he told us that Harley had a very weak heartbeat and an extremely low oxygen level. Although he was only eight years old it was clear to us that Harley was critically ill. The vet than proceeded to tell us that he was too sick to go home, that if we left him at the hospital it would be $3000 overnight and any diagnostic tests would be another $2000. He didn't give us any idea what may be happening with Harley but it was very clear to us that Harley was dying. Both my husband and l had years of experience in the field of animal welfare and we knew that Harley wouldn't survive any prolonged stay or diagnostic tests. We decided to have Harley euthanized. They brought Harley to us and l held him in my arms while the vet injected him with a sedative, unfortunately the vet, in our opinion injected the solution much too quickly and Harley screamed out in pain. The vet's only response to this was to cry out was any one bit. Harley would never have bitten anyone, and if the vet had been a little kinder and took a little more time to administer that sedative Harley wouldn't have reacted the way he did. After that shot Harley purred in my arms until he passed away. We had brought another cat in for treatment at Waves and were so impressed with the vet that met with us. This experience was so different, the vet's lack of caring or compassion, the focus on quoting fees without even attempting to be honest about the condition of the animal and the rushed attempt to sedate our cat that only made a bad situation worse. I really don't think l would consider taking one of my animals to Waves in the future after this experience.

Fantastic experience: All the staff - DVM's, tech, assistants, admin, and reception provide an amazing service to the western communities. With being an emergency hospital with a ER that is triage based - these folks do an amazing job in a very hard industry. Thank you for all you do for our pets!

Dr S Semadeni then came to me there was no hope for our furkid Heart Failure caused clots hence leg had no circulation and leg was cold. Dr was so professional and compassionate most of all caring for our furkid and keeping him comfortable. All staff were so amazing it was definately not the outcome expected saying goodbye to our furkid. Appreciate all the staff involved. Lisa C

Fantastic experience: I brought our dog, Bailey, to the emergency clinic and was seen by Dr. Luke Winter. Unfortunately, we had to say goodbye to our beloved boy. Dr. Winter's care and professionalism during this difficult time were exceptional. He guided me through this heartbreaking experience with genuine compassion, and for that, I am truly grateful. Thank you, Dr. Luke!

Fantastic experience: We are beyond grateful for the incredible care our dachshund received from Dr. Barnard at WAVES. Our dog came in with no mobility in her back legs and needed emergency IVDD spinal surgery. Dr. Barnard happened to be there that Friday and fit us in immediately. She discovered two ruptured disks and performed a complex surgery, also creating fenestrations where she could reach. The results have been positive. Our dachshund had her surgery on September 6th, and by October 20th, she was walking unassisted on non-slippery surfaces! She continues to show improvements every day, and we couldn’t be happier with the outcome. Dr. Barnard is a skilled, compassionate professional, and we felt reassured throughout the entire process. If you’re facing IVDD surgery for your pet, I highly recommend Dr. Barnard and the team at WAVES. They saved our dog, and we are forever grateful! We will be traveling to the USA for PLDA surgery, a specialized procedure that isn’t available in Canada. If you are in the same situation, I highly recommend reading up on this option, as this procedure could be the best option for your pet. Note: video is from Oct 11, and her mobility continues to improve.

Fantastic experience: As a veterinarian myself I don’t usually get the “user experience” at the vet. My dog got into something toxic and I needed help asap. WAVES staff were professional, courteous and rapid. Thanks so so much for everything you do- reception, technicians and staff all rocked. I would not hesitate to take your pets here in an emergency.

Fantastic experience: As a referring veterinarian, I have nothing but high praise for the care my patients receive at WAVES. Two weeks ago, a dog owned by a good Registered Veterinary Technician friend vomited and developed fairly severe aspiration pneumonia acutely at 9pm in the evening. We rushed him into your facility and he was immediately triaged and treatment was started. After 3 days in your facility, with oxygen and other supportive treatments, I'm happy to report he is completely back to normal. Thanks for being there!

Negative experience: Horrific experience start to finish. They were so good when I had to put down a previous pet. This experience was full of heartless and untrained employees and made the loss of my baby girl 1000x worse. I hope I never need to come back here again. Edit for reply. I have reached out numerous times and was met with excuses and attitude and finger pointing. No one took responsibility and no one cared. I was passed to a multitude of people as my concerns were 'escalated' and again not a single care or ounce of compassion. I just kept getting told how busy you were and made to feel like my horrific experience was ruining your day. My memorial stone is damaged, my paw prints terrible. All that fitting ending to the whole experience i went through putting her down. I recommend anyone who cares about their animal to go ANYWHERE else.

Fantastic experience: My experience with waves was the best ever. I was greeted by phone by Jacob who was so kind. My elderly dog Murphy was Ill. Jacob assured us that we could bring him in on an emergency at any time. The staff and triage and veterinarian were so professional and made a very difficult situation very peaceful. Sadly we had to say goodbye to our beloved boy and it was handled in such a loving and caring manner. Thank you to Jacob and the kind, caring staff for their kindness and support

Negative experience: Really tried to give this place the benefit of the doubt after my last two negative experiences here, but this third time confirms that this clinic is very poorly run. The doctors are *amazing* but the management needs to seriously rethink their staffing levels and approach to triage to keep animals safe. We spent TEN hours in the clinic yesterday, SEVEN of which were waiting for the radiologist to look at the xray to determine if more images were needed (they were) before we could go home. With the 1.5 hour drive each way, it was a 13hr day for my pup and I who they kept drugged on opioids and other sedatives throughout for pain management. Triage for a radiologist should not mean jamming in the most critical cases in between their scheduled appointments. Triage should mean having the space to make small calls (do we have the images we need? Yes/No) throughout the day that can make a BIG difference to the comfort and safety of everyone in their care. Reading the other reviews on here it appears that we’re not the only ones who’ve experience the impacts of this poor management. This needs to be addressed for everyone’s comfort and safety (including the exceptional doctors who are trying to do the best job possible despite the circumstances).

Negative experience: I am absolutely appalled with the front end staff and supervisor at Waves. On August 15, 2024 my dog was in real stress it is an older dog (11) and has had many issues, and is on alot of pain meds. My dog at this point was throwing up, I had gotten anti- nausea drugs at about 5:30pm from my vet. I had forgotten to ask how long this drug would take affect, and they are now closed. So if she got better I would not need to put her through the pain of getting in the car and a long drive down to Victoria. Well the first lady that answered the phone (I will not name her at this time) said no they could not give me a time that this drug would work, because they did not prescribe it. I said it was a normal anti-nausea drug and named it. She said I had to come down and get the dog looked after. I said was there a doctor that could explain how long this drug may take affect. She said they were all busy and had no time to answer my question. I felt let down by this ER and told her I felt she was very cold and had no empathy at all. I also have quite a loud voice and it is worse when I am upset (I have many people that will attest to this). The receptionist kept telling me if I kept yelling at her she was going to hang up. I did explain about my voice, but she ignored me. I felt she was discriminating against me because my voice was louder than most. I then asked to speak to a supervisor, who when she came on the phone would not give me her name. She just tried to sooth me, no help at all kept saying the rules do not allow the ER to explain about any drugs unless they prescribed them and also said that it was law. Said I had to come down from Duncan to see them. I again explain how arthritic my dog was, and that she is throwing up and pooping blood, and if I didn't need to drive 1and 1/2 hours with her, I would rather not. The supervisor just kept saying I had to come down, also no doctor could talk to me. She never brought up how loud my voice was?? At this point I told the supervisor no matter how sick my dog is , I will never ever come to there clinic, I said I felt there was no empathy and bottom line they are only in it for the money. I also explained that I felt this incident needs to be taken to the paper or on face book. People need to know. It is my feeling they need new staff that actually care I did get amazing help from the other clinic in Victoria. I did eventually have to go to the ER in Victoria, and eventually put my dog down. But they treated me and my dog with care, empathy, and respect. I believe that ER cares about the animal not the money. Thank you !

Fantastic experience: The situation surrounding this hospital highlights a fundamental issue with online outrage and misinformation. It's heartbreaking that this hospital and their team are facing hate and threats over a situation that involved numerous factors beyond control. Veterinary professionals dedicate their lives to saving and caring for animals, and it's unjust to vilify them based on one-sided narratives. It's crucial for people to realize that stories shared online often lack context and nuance, and rushing to condemn without all the facts can cause irreparable harm. Constructive dialogue, empathy, and a willingness to understand the complexities of each situation are vital in ensuring fairness and justice for all involved parties, so I would like to share my honest and factual experience with Waves, coming from someone who was actually a patron of this hospital. I took my almost 3 year old Cat, Boots into this hospital after he was experiencing some worrisome symptoms and was in a lot of pain. We were kindly welcomed in and checked in within seconds of walking inside the door. The front desk staff were so wonderful with me and patient as I was in a pile of tears. My cat is my best bud, and everyone on the team here made me feel very comfortable leaving my anxious boy in their care. They said such kind things to me and didn’t make me feel silly for crying at all. Since my cat was in overnight, I believe he saw 3 separate Vets as there was shift change, each was a woman and they were all equally as amazing. They called me as promised, and gave me a very easy to understand update, and were always honest. I am very happy with every vet my cat saw, and could not have asked for better care. At WAVES the Veterinary staff members often work grueling hours, sacrificing precious time with their families and friends to ensure the well-being of animals in their care. They frequently face long shifts, emergency call-ins, and unpredictable work schedules, all in the service of providing compassionate and competent care. These dedicated professionals understand the immense responsibility they hold in safeguarding the health and lives of beloved pets, and they willingly make personal sacrifices to fulfill their duties. Their commitment goes beyond mere job duties; it reflects a deep-seated passion for animals and a sense of duty to their community. Their selflessness and unwavering dedication deserve acknowledgment and appreciation, as they play a vital role in maintaining the health and happiness of our beloved animal companions. Thank you Wave’s for sacrificing your time and working around the clock to save my best friend. I really hope I don’t have to come back (because that means my cat is sick ), but if I do come back- I know Boots will be in the best care. p.s they reached out to my insurance company to clear an issue for me weeks later, it was done within minutes of me sending them an email a really nice vet even personally called me to explain that insurance was wrong and that they submitted paper work for me to clear things up (done free of charge out of the kindness of their hearts because they care)

Fantastic experience: Our fur baby had an ugly tail thing (I’ll spare you the details) and we needed treatment asap. Nanaimo couldn’t accommodate us so we drove to WAVES, serenaded by loud kitty protests from the cat carrier for the hour drive. It was so worth the trip. Gordon was very well cared for within a half hour of arriving. The intake staff was lovely and we were given timeline updates from the moment we arrived. They even had a calming spray and towel to help calm our anxiety-ridden kitty. Dr. Simmond’s and all of the staff were kind, compassionate and so thorough with Gordon’s “situation”. He’s happily home with a detailed care plan and good meds to keep him agreeable to his medical house arrest and required cone of shame. Thank you WAVES team for exceptional care of Gordon.

Fantastic experience: Thank you to all the staff at Waves for making the sudden passing of our beloved Nala a little softer. Fantastic experience: A heartfelt thank you to the staff at waves for their kindness and professionalism. We had to put our dog down very unexpectedly and Waves was gentle, patient and knowledgeable. They didn’t make us do any unnecessary tests and kept us fully informed through the entire process. It was a horrible day and we were treated with nothing but love. It is one of the toughest decisions we ever make, but we are so happy we were in the room with him and telling him how much we loved him. it was incredibly humane and full of love all thanks to Waves. A big hug of gratitude to all of the team for treating Norman with such care in his final hours.

Fantastic experience: I had to bring my elderly cat to the emergency vet hospital after hours tonight, and I cannot express how grateful I am for the outstanding care we received. From the moment we walked in, the team was quick to greet us and had already checked us in, thanks to their efficient online emergency form. My cat was promptly triaged, and the team’s compassion and gentleness were immediately apparent. Dr. Siobhan was incredibly thorough, explaining her physical exam findings and providing clear recommendations. She also gave us a couple of treatment options based on the diagnostics, which was very reassuring. Throughout the entire visit, both my cat and I were treated with kindness, professionalism, and prompt attention. I have no hesitation in recommending this emergency vet hospital and will certainly rely on their services again in the future if needed. Thank you for the exceptional care!

Fantastic experience: May 28, 2024 my poor boy Caleb passed away in my arms at this hospital. They are so professional as well as genuinely care, most places only care about money. This place cares about the relationship we have with our pets it shows and everything they do. They give our four-legged kids, respect and dignity all the way to the end and beyond. Their prices are not that bad considering the type of care you’re getting. In my darkest moments, Caleb was all I had in my house. I don’t think he will ever know that he saved my life, he was the only thing around when I needed people and I’ll never forget that. RIP Caleb. my handsome good boy. I will see you on the other side..

Fantastic experience: Wow, what a great team! Prompt intake of my hurt kitty and a caring environment. Many options provided for our troubling situation but in the end our baby boy Jacky was mended and progessing back to health! Many employees have animals of their own so the cared for my pet as if it was one of their own. If you are put in a situation where your animal needs immediate attention I would recommend Waves Westshore. Thanks for bringing our boy home!!!

Positive experience: Response edited for service recovery. We received great life saving care for our pet, however some elements of the treatment plan and the follow-up visits left room for improvement. After expressing our frustration, Desiree was quick to follow up to review our case and scheduled an in-person meeting. Desiree and Dr. Katzman were able to provide some strong insights, took our concerns seriously, and outlined an action plan in which I felt heard. After meeting with them both, I do feel that WAVES is committed to improvement.

Negative experience: I have never in my life seen a veterinarian hospital cost as much as this place does. I find they don’t really care about your pets they care more about how much money they can suck out of you because they know you will pay what ever it is to save your pets. I was quoted one thing then another. They said one thing and then another. One minute the bill was 4500 then at check out time bump it up the 7000. Come on. You are robbing people not only of there money but there mental health of the clients as well as the care of a pet. You add things onto the bill that did not even happen but expect us all to pay for it anyways. Here’s an example. My cat needed to stay 2 nights. I payed for 60 hours when she was only there for 48 hours. When the surgeon said it will cost 4100 if they don’t have to do anything extra, but they charged me for the extra anyways and it cost me 4600. Medicine for your pet at a normal vet clinic cost half as much as what you charge. To put in a IV catheter cost close to 300. Normal vet clinic cost under 100. So my question is how do you people sleep at night knowing you are crooks. Steeling money from hard working people who are just making it by in life and want to save there pet. You don’t care about people or the pet, you care about how much money you can scam people out of when there at there lowest point and will do anything to save there pet. There seems to be 0 regulations on how hospitals like this operate. So most of the time people have to let there loved one go or worse they surrender it and you fix the problem and change a rescue and then the animal goes up for adoption. The only thing that this place did do right was having great parking! You will not find me in your system because I put the case under a private name. I don’t want my information out in Social Media!!!!! I will most definitely be reaching out to you privately to hear your side of this whole incident. But I’m 100% sure you will do absolutely nothing other then blow more smoke in mirrors. You will also really not care about what I say and you will just try to keep on justifying why you do this to people. I feel really bad for all the animals you could have saved for people with low income that you would just rather them pay to put the animals down or surrender them to still make a profit. That’s no good business, that’s just cruel. Some peoples whole world is there pet. Some days that’s what some people in this world get up for in life well they are going threw hell. There not just a pet they are family and they are peoples mental health helpers. For some there pet is what keeps a person from maybe ending there own life. Your logo should says SHOW ME THE MONEY. I looked up the other emergency vet in Victoria and there reviews where incredible and not a lot of complaints about price gouging.

Fantastic experience: I brought my Hamster in last night with an abscess after being turned away from other clinics unwilling to look at him. Dr. Flash gave me all my options and treated both my pet and I with compassion. He gave me my options and didn’t make me feel like it was a waste to try and save an animal that people often dismiss as disposable. Sadly my pet didn’t survive the procedure as it was risky, but I really appreciate the willingness to try. Thank you.

Fantastic experience: Thank you to the amazing staff at Waves once again the most compassionate and caring people. From the time I made the emergency call to the visit and care for our little 16 year old dog who suffered a horrible accident they had him pain free and explained the euthanasia procedure. We sat in a comfortable room and got to hold Thor while he went up to heaven❤️. They showed such compassion to us while we grieved and cried, there was no rush we could stay in room with him a little longer to say goodbye. Be free our little one you were so loved by everyone❤️

Negative experience: Ever since Vet Strategy took control, I have watched in utter devastation as the quality of care for our precious pets has plummeted. While Specialty Services still manage to function adequately, the Emergency Room is in shambles. It is heartbreaking to see the chaos caused by a Hospital director who lacks a proper medical background, forced to clean up messes left by lack of licensed staffed members and understaffing to save on budget expenses. The ER, once a beacon of hope, is now a source of frustration and disappointment. Had we known that the ER was ill-equipped to handle the surgery our beloved pet needed, we would have rushed to Central without a second thought. The betrayal of trust is staggering, especially for someone who dedicated their time and passion working for this establishment. The decline in service is a bitter pill to swallow, leaving us questioning if our furry companions are truly receiving the care they deserve. The uncomassionate and unprofessional experiences I have had with Desiree Stinson I'm particular have been abhorrent. Clearly ethics are not a high priority given the complete and utter lack of investigation you performed. Also still listed as co-owner... #JusticeforEnvy #NotOneMoreAnimal #NOMA

Negative experience: My Fiance has just been here with our cat and it was not a good experience. especially now after seeing the reviews of this place, I hope we will never have to take our cat here again. sadly it is the only emergency clinic near us and we needed to get her into a vet ASAP. My Fiance and I are 19, and living on our own. however we don't drive so his father had to take him there. My Fiance is the one that knows everything about our cat and therefore spoke about her history and troubles. she had impacted anal glands that needed to be drained. Up until halfway through, the DR refused to speak to my Fiance and instead directed her words towards his father, simply because she thought he was too young. She only realized she had to talk to HIM instead when he told her that he would be paying for the bill, as well as having to verbally tell her to talk to him instead. which is absolutely ridiculous. it was very clear that my Fiance was the one that knew everything and she continued to talk to his father, who had very little input as he doesn't even know the cat. besides all of that though, he had to pay $216 for a BASIC CHECKUP that wasn't even thorough. the only reason we went to this clinic was because our vet canceled at the last moment, and now seeing how they've treated some dogs in these reviews, it's no surprise to me that at least some of the staff are rude and incompetent. Granted, the experience could've been worse, but I NEVER want to be able to say that about a vet caring after our cat. Just because we are young, does not mean we are stupid and know nothing about our cat. and even though that wasn't said, it was 100% what was implied. I cannot get over envy's story. that is genuinely awful and it's abhorrent. if your guys' dogs needed emergency surgery to LIVE, I'm sure you'd be raising hell on earth if a vet clinic just let them die and then billed you thousands for it. we will also be finding a different place to do end-of-life care once our cat is older, even if that takes us hours to get to. I wouldn't want my cats pawprints to be "lost in the mail".

Negative experience: Sharing our horrible experience of what happened to our sweet baby girl Envy. She was brought in to this “emergency” clinic in need of a c-section as she was in dystocia. This emergency clinic decided that this was not an emergency as her vitals were stable even though she had two dead puppies stuck inside her and she was in labor. She also had two live puppies at home that needed her to live dr brown also “examined” these two live puppies. So not sure why this wasn’t taken into account when she decided envy’s c section wasn’t an emergency?? The statistics say that 99% of mothers survive emergency c-sections that are performed in a timely manner, hence why she was brought in as soon as it was noticed she was having trouble. They left her untreated for 9 hours with two dead puppies stuck inside of her, having contractions for hours, and allowed her uterus to rupture in their care. She then was brought into emergency surgery but the sepsis had already caused her to decline significantly. The sepsis resulted in multiple organ failure and Envy didn’t make it. I was told by Desiree the practice manager that the vet Dr. Brown made every decision correct and that “I wouldn’t understand because I am not a medical professional.” So I did my own research and spoke to numerous veterinarians who said there is no situation where dystocia is not an emergency. They quoted us for a the initial c-section $4500-$6500 which they insisted we give a deposit of $5000, they then did not perform this surgery until Envy had gone into septic shock and charged us $15,000 and Envy died. This clinic will lie to you, take your money, kill your beloved pet and take no responsibility. #justiceforenvy #NOMA #NotOneMoreAnimal

Fantastic experience: I had to take ma boy in for a bowel obstruction Mar.8th. He had to have it surgically removed. Dr.Keogan is a master! She had my boy all fixed up by the next afternoon! Not to mention her patience with a very tired Daddy (me) when going over all involved. The pics below, one shows only 2 nights after I brought him home. The stitching was next level, and SO neatly done. And he healed extremely fast. Dr. Keogan you're amazing. Thank you so friggin much for everything!

Fantastic experience: Thank you the wonderful compassion and care shown from the reception, vet tech and veterinarian who had to euthanize my pet bird. The immense welcoming and compassion expressed right from my first telephone was amazing. I arrived in tears and was seen immediately. The procedure was explained thoroughly and I had time to prepare. Afterwards the veterinarian put him in a beautiful body bag showing the utmost respect for my little guy. She spent 15 minutes afterwards displaying a level of empathy that I have never seen in any other veterinarian. I don't remember your name but I will always remember your utmost care and compassion. Thank you again Waves staff. You deserve the recognition ✨️.

Fantastic experience: I brought my cat here to their Internal Medicine department for a cystotomy he needed. Everyone I dealt with—reception, the techs, and the doctors—were exceptional. I’d like to give special recognition to Laura in reception and Dr. Winter. Their kindness and thorough care for my little dude Quentin was unmatched! I’ve added a photo of him recovering… he looks like a kid home sick from school!

Fantastic experience: Great experience. Albert, our dog, had been diagnosed with pancreatitis at our usual vet, but they were closed for Good Friday. We took Albert in as he wasn’t eating or drinking and pooping blood. They were great with him and although they were super busy they saw him within a reasonable time. Albert is already on his way back to health. The vet at waves gave us some good advice and really set our minds to rest.

Fantastic experience: Thank you to all the staff at Waves for saving our dog Bear while he spent the week in the hospital. To all the vets, techs and staff who were there for him day and night. Even just to give him a couple pets, or clean him up while he was hooked up to multiple machines, we appreciate you! You helped him feel like he wasn't alone during a really scary time for him and us. I'm happy to report Bear is back home and doing much better. His smile has returned. I can't thank you all enough for saving his life and allowing us to still have him in our family's life.

Fantastic experience: I cannot thank Waves Emergency Vet Hospital enough for their exceptional care of my dog Mavi. When he was brought in for a foreign body, the team treated him with such compassion and skill. They quickly identified that he needed elongated palate surgery and got him in for the procedure right away. The surgery was successful, and Mavi is now recovering well. I am so grateful for the amazing care he received at Waves and highly recommend them to anyone in need of emergency veterinary services.

Fantastic experience: I had an emergency with my dog and went to Waves based on a recommendation. My experience was amazing. My dog is incredibly anxious and fearful at vets, she has always had to be heavily sedated when going for treatment, but there was no time for that in this emergency. When I arrived they immediately checked me in and brought me into my own room. They then expertly and quickly assessed the situation, worked with me to come up with a plan and then executed it all while supporting both my and my dog’s anxiety. They did this quickly and in a really professional manner. They were even able to give my dog 2 shots without any sedation, previously my dog has never never allowed this to happen. The emergency was dealt with and I was in and out within 1.5hrs. My dog is now totally ok and I’m incredibly grateful to the staff at Waves for everything they did. If your pet needs emergency help, I recommend Waves 100%.

Negative experience: LEFT DOG IN KENNEL WITHOUT CARE SLOWLY DYING FOR 9 HOURS!!!! They will promise to do life saving surgery they aren't qualified for, charge you for it, then leave your pet to die in the back without surgery just to make some money. In those 9+ hours this dog could have had life saving surgery at any clinic, instead they lied and they killed her. They claimed they would do a c-section and took her to the back, then instead left her in labor with dead puppies inside her for hours and hours, causing her uterus to rupture, putting her into septic shock and organ failure. What kind of vet refuses to provide the life saving treatment their client paid for!? When she died as a result of their negligence they claimed her death was not their fault and "That's what you should expect if you decide to breed your dog." They will kill your pet, take your money, and won't even apologize for it. Heartless staff. Disgusting practice. Go anywhere but here.
