Negative experience: The vet I had was was extremely knowledgeable, kind and helpful! However management gave me an innaccurate quote for a simple vaccinations visit. Will be switching back to my original vet for this reason as vca was much more expensive than was quoted to me.

Negative experience: I have been a customer here for over 3 years now, and have really seen this place go from awesome to shit! The vet's are good (they know what they are doing) but the management and the front staff are terrible. I made a mistake of buying preventive drugs from here for my dog and oh my god they charged me 3X the actual price for it- calling it dispensing fee. this dispensing fee wasn't even part of the invoice. When I called them about it - they hung up on me a few time and them just said all pharmacies do this! Please DO NOT buy medicines for your pets here. Go only for the vets.

Negative experience: Vet techs referred to the wrong blood work data (recalling results from 2024) when the most recent results were from 2025 to inform us we were not monitoring electrolytes for my dog appropriately. My dog is experiencing no discomfort, no change in appetite and no change in activity, with stable results for 3 years. We have sequentially reduced bloodwork from every 2 months to every 3 months then 6 months with stable results each time. We had mentioned to the clinic we would like to wait a year before the next bloodwork because of her consistent results. They refused to book an appointment for regular monthly shots for her condition without updated bloodwork. Previously they changed my dog’s medication without asking or providing us a reason why, when my dog has been stable on the same medication for 3 years. Mistakes happen, things get overlooked but own up to it before vilifying patients, we will be going to a different vet.

Fantastic experience: Moved from Maple Ridge a couple of years ago & found that this hospital is a block from home, so seemed like a logical place to try for my two, now senior cats. Over the years, all previous cats had the same trusted vet for 20 years, so it was hard choosing a place to start fresh that felt comfortable, & with reasonable prices. I like Yaletown because I trust more than one doctor here. Each one we've seen is equally talented & friendly. At first, it was unusual for me to see their large list of Doctors on staff because I've had a relationship with only one, who felt like family. I didn't think seeing different doctors, with different schedules would be great, but when the doctors I'm familiar with at Yaletown aren't working, I'm always pleasantly surprised with a "new to us" doctor, & their excellent skills, for the issue of the visit... and with the added bonus of being able to give me multiple personal opinions & advice, to enable me to feel well informed & vigilant with my 14, & 16 year old senior fur-babies

Negative experience: I went there with my dog in an emergency, and they refused to even try to see her. I understand they are not a walk-in clinic, but in a situation like that, I expected at least some care or compassion. It was disappointing to see such a lack of sympathy for an animal in distress.

Negative experience: This place has gone down hill since VCA took it over. The original vets have left and the new ones have become noticeably pushy with unnecessary treatments and tests for topical ailments. My dog had a toe infection with pus around his nails. Despite letting the vet know I think it’s an infection I was sent home with an anti-lick stray. The second time I was told it might be toe cancer and needed to do a bunch of tests. Only on the 3rd time was I finally prescribed an anti-biotic medication that fixed the issue all the while my dog was suffering from this infection for a whole month. I don’t usually like arguing with medical professionals but this one really bit me in the ass 3-times (pun intended). I’ve since switched to Paws On Fraser and felt assured my pup is in good hands again. -March 2014 Original Review- Extremely professional group of people and very accommodating. Although they are not a 24 hour emergency hospital they are usually able to fit my dog in on the same day that I call-in. They are also extremely organized and send email reminders about everything your dog might need such as their vaccine schedules and check-ups. After a visit they always call back the next day to make sure you dog is okay. They also keep every single detail about your pet on file so that vets know exactly what your dog has been through and file insurance claims for you each time so you don't have to go through all the paperwork. I am extremely grateful for such excellence in service and gives me peace of mind as a dog owner.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Rachel Barker was incredible in helping us transport our dog from Vancouver to Dublin. She went through all the paperwork with meticulous care and attention to detail, making sure every step was handled correctly. I truly appreciated her thoroughness, knowledge, and expertise throughout the entire process. Thanks to her, my dog and I arrived safely, and I am extremely grateful! Negative experience: My beloved feline friend passed away because the vet did not provide the proper care he needed. Initially, the vet diagnosed him with arthritis, but later we discovered it was actually a blood clot. Although we would still have had to make the final decision regarding his care, the vet made that choice for us. This hospital doesn't deserve a star, but I had to create this message

Fantastic experience: My beloved 25 yr old black Persian male cat, that I've had since he was a 2 month old kitten suffered a stroke. His name was Yogiroo, & it was the first time in his life that I had to take him to the vet. We had to put him to sleep & he died in my arms...it was the hardest thing I've ever had to do! The Yaletown Pet Hospital staff, were more than stellar in the care & compassion they provided me & Yogi, going above & beyond what I ever expected in making my hardest endurance... bearable & spiritually solemn, but a beautiful memory I will nurture & treasure in my heart & mind forevermore!!! Thank you for your great empathy & compassion!!!

Fantastic experience: I would highly recommend Dr.Nicole Yu. I was referred to her by my friend. She went above and beyond to help me for my dogs check up and was very kind to Kazu! All of the staff there were very kind to Kazu as well and helped me a lot too. Will come back for sure

Fantastic experience: Updating older review (was also 5 Stars, though) because our previous vet has left, however, Dr. Gavin Myers is A+++, he has done a follow-up appointment on Ivy before as well but he is great -- explains everything well and makes sure you understand along the way, did not try to nickel and dime by adding on random tests (I have found this location never does, they even talked us out of a food allergy test years ago as well, turns out the blood ones are not accurate at all and it is a waste of money, instead they walked us through an elimination diet to discover Ivy is allergic to Chicken) Ivy -loved- him too, a little too much perhaps, she kept trying to kiss his face which was a touch embarrassing but she tends to be very expressive when she likes someone. Attached is an photo of Ivy, sleeping off some vaccines! YPH can be a little more pricey than some others, but their great vets make it worth the extra cost as well as the Pet Uber we have to take to go see them!

Negative experience: I have been coming here for several years now. Generally speaking, the service provided is good. However, recently I had a horrible experience due to negligence of the staff. I was preparing to travel with my dog overseas (first time) and I have specifically asked if they can issue me a pet passport or health certificate as I read online that is a requirement to travel with your dog. I have asked for this on three different occasions. I was told that vaccination certificate is all I needed. I asked again if they were sure - and they confirmed more than once that what they gave me is sufficient. To my surprise, once I arrived to the airport, I was denied boarding. I had an early flight so I couldn’t get a hold of anyone, I tried to reschedule my flight but that didn’t work (I was offered a change that would cost three times the original ticket cost). My trip was canceled not by my choice. To make it worse, it wasn’t a vacation travel - it was a legal proceeding requirement that I had to miss that created a myriad of complications for my family members. The worst part is - when I finally managed to get them on the phone all they said was “we are sorry for the miscommunication”. This was not a “miscommunication”. It was a major mistake where I have lost close to $3,000 for flights and fees not to mention inconvenience for my family they are still dealing with and the stress I endured trying to make it work. I am absolutely shocked how they dealt with the aftermath of their mistake. Basically - they did nothing.

Positive experience: You used to be great. But now you constantly ask me to come back to the clinic. If a vaccine is due in 2 weeks and I'm already there for a checkin, you wait two weeks to send me a message that I have to come back for a vaccine. The behavior has been getting consistently worse. The VCA system constantly breaks, you charge me for medication I didn't ask for, logins are difficult. The quality is tremendously disappointing.

Fantastic experience: Best pet emergency room in Vancouver. I go out of my way to go here if I am in need of emergency vet services. They are wonderful, take such good care of your pets, and are very upfront with costs. There are other emergency animal hospitals in the city that over charge, this is not one of those places

Negative experience: After two dogs and twelve years, this place has gone corporate and lost its humanity. My dog had a bladder infection which she’s had before, same exact symptoms, and they refused to give me abtibiotics without hundreds of dollars of tests. What exactly is the risk of a dog going on antibiotics with the low chance she doesn’t have an infection? Not much. Bad stomach maybe. Now what is the risk of a dog NOT going on antibiotics because its owner doesn’t have $400 extra for unnecessary exams, when she almost definitely has an infection? Pain, suffering, kidney damage, and worse. The old Yaletown pet hospital could have weighed the two scenarios with a brain—now it’s just corporate BS. Maybe when Dr. Gavin comes back I’ll talk to him and change this review but right now i am furious.

Urinary infections can sometimes require different antibiotics depending on the underlying cause. Without testing, it’s challenging to prescribe appropriately, and there’s also the risk of contributing to antibiotic resistance if the wrong medication is used.

Fantastic experience: The level of high care is exceptional. I had a really terrifying experience with my sweet boy Blue and rushed to get help. Instantly they could tell I was in distress and immediately put me in a room. Dr. Tris Sailer handled Blue with so much love and care, addressing my concerns and coming up with a game plan. I left calm and assured that everything was going to be fine. Thank you so much to the entire team who helped every set of the way. Negative experience: I was 5 min late for the appointment and they cancelled it without contacting me at all. They had no compassion at all, especially if it’s an emergency. Please Take your fur baby elsewhere because it’s concerning that a business in this industry would behave as is. It seems as though they just want money and are not interested in the health of your pet. Being 5 min late and only 5 min left of the appointment time. Meaning you cram 100s of appointments in back to back 10 min at a time? How are you supposed to give proper veterinary care? I would never come back. Your reply made it worse.

Fantastic experience: I wish I could give more than 5 stars! I’m beyond grateful for this amazing place. Dr. Tris Sailer and Nicole Yu are exceptional. We went in feeling desperate after not getting a clear diagnosis for our little dog, and they were incredibly precise. We got the diagnosis in just three days, and after that, they listened carefully to each of our concerns, showing genuine interest in what was worrying us. Having a sick dog is so stressful, but these amazing ladies were patient and provided all the information we needed, which was just incredible. The entire staff is fantastic, and I would definitely go back

Fantastic experience: I can not recommend Dr. Danica Watson enough. She helped my cat when other vets seemed confused and uninterested in treating him. She was thoughtful and thorough and clearly genuinely cared about seeing him feel better and having a better quality of life. A year and a half ago he had 6 months to live and was in active cardiac decline, and now he’s thriving with a heart that’s working normally. She is so caring a sweet with my animals, and is such a lovely person to talk to. She always talk through her treatment plan with me to make sure it works for us and that we understand, and never prescribes unnecessary things to drive up the bill total. The reception staff at Yaletown is also always so wonderful, kind and helpful. We are leaving Vancouver and will miss Dr. Watson and the staff greatly. I am so grateful for my experience here! Fantastic experience: Dr. Tris Sailer has been exceptional with our little dog, Nino. After treating him for a month at another veterinary clinic and becoming frustrated due to a lack of clarity, we decided to take him to VCA. From the very first consultation, the difference was noticeable. Dr. Sailer has been very clear, understanding, and genuinely considerate of our budget. While other veterinary clinics had waiting times, Dr. Sailer asked about the symptoms before offering availability and requested that we bring Nino in the same day, as soon as possible. She consistently gave importance to her patients as if they were her own pets. Even after the consultation, she took the time to clarify our doubts and gave us the feeling and confidence to ask anything we needed to know. Cashier Nat was very attentive and provided excellent service as well. And all the staff we interacted with were genuinely kind. Thank you very much for the excellent care and service; it’s worth every penny

Fantastic experience: I cannot recommend this clinic highly enough. Dr. Nicole Yu is a remarkable diagnostician, possessing a keen ability to identify health issues that others might overlook. She is not only skilled but also genuinely caring and compassionate, qualities that are evident in her treatment of my 15-year-old dog, Tucker, who has several health issues. Dr. Yu's approachable and accommodating nature makes it clear she truly cares about her patients. I trust her completely and would never consider going anywhere else. Fantastic experience: I used to love taking my pets to this clinic for 20 years. They still have great vets but they’re getting super expensive now that they’ve been bought out.

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend this vet clinic. I’ve brought my dog and cat here and saw Dr. Chen. She has been wonderful to deal with, she listens attentively to any concerns and provides upmost care. It’s very easy to get an online appointment and they always followed up with any questions I have. The prices are great as well. I trust my pets with this clinic.

Positive experience: Dr. Nicole Yu at YPH is an excellent primary care provider for pets. She performed a spay for one of our dogs and continues to be our preferred choice for check-ups. Fantastic experience: Very clean and friendly space. The Veterinarians are really knowledgeable and helpful. I took my new puppy there to get his shots done and they were able to give me helpful information about his breed and things that I could do to prevent issues. The cost of making an appointment with the vet for any service- shots, health issues, etc- is a little higher than usual. YPH is really close to where I live and the service is great so I don’t mind the increased cost.

Fantastic experience: We see Dr. Nicole Yu at YPH and she is great to work with. She is everything you are looking for as your primary care provider for your dog or cat. Dr. Yu performed a spay for one of dogs and is our go to for our check ups. She is patient, kind and knowledgeable. She is great at what she does. Poppy doesn’t even notice she’s been given her shots. It’s a fear free stress free visit.

Fantastic experience: The staff is great & caring. They almost always have immediate availabilities if you are worried about your pet but don't wanna spend a whole day in emergencies. We had a small price miscommunication so just check with the doctor what's really needed in your case as it might just be a general but thorough fee. It was all good after and the three doctors our cat saw were very knowledgeable and helpful.

Negative experience: I want to express my disappointment regarding our recent visit to your clinic. The service provided was subpar, and I felt compelled to bring it to everyones attention. During our visit, it seemed the focus was primarily on upselling medications, which, in my opinion, were priced above the market rates. It was disheartening to sense a strong push towards purchasing additional items, giving the impression that profit was prioritized over genuine care. Negative experience: Horrible and very unprofessional service. They falsified our pet diagnosis “stating our dog had itching issues for years” after only visiting them twice in 3 months. This caused us issues with our pet insurance claim. They did not correct the issue and the front desk min wage worker was useless. We are in the midst of taking legal action. Please beware of this business and the poor doctors. Thanks for you reply. The problem started with your poor receptionist and not the doctor. We called in with no intentions of switching clinics as the doctor was satisfactory but once we explained the error that was made she replied with attitude stating “we will try but there’s no guarantee we can correct this error” Your mistake so you need to fix it. We are not ever coming back because of her incompetence and poor customer service. We have since filed a complaint and will have our lawyer obtain the corrected medical documents as we just don’t have time to deal with your horrible desk staff. Update: due to the doctors false and careless notes our insurance has declined the claim. Be aware when dealing with these unprofessional and incompetent doctors and staff.

Our doctors and staff work very hard and it hurts to hear you describe us this way. A large part of the medical record is an account of history and information relayed by you, the owner of the pet, during the exam visit. We believe that owners know their pets best and this information is vital to our veterinarians for a proper diagnosis and treatment.
We encourage all owners when signing up for insurance plans to make sure they understand what is considered a pre-existing condition under their plan and therefore not covered. We also recommend signing your pet up as soon as possible for insurance so that the list of pre-existing conditions is zero or very minimal. Some insurance companies will even offer to start covering pre-existing conditions after a certain length of time.

Positive experience: I've been coming to this clinic for 4 years and unfortunately after my last visit, I am considering switching to another clinic due to my experience with the front desk staff. I spent 15 minutes waiting in line after the appointment being ignored by the staff while they called up people behind me in line, without acknowledging the reason behind the wait or offering any apologies. There was also a noticeable difference between the attitude the staff had with others and with me. I also had to ask for the prescriptions on my pet's file as this was missed by the staff. It was a strange and unsettling experience that other customers waiting in line noticed and commented on. Otherwise, the vets and technicians are friendly and thorough and my pet has received good care, which is the most important thing.

Fantastic experience: Been my local vet for a couple years now. They are awesome; Helping from everyday maintenance of our furry friends. Keeping you up to date with treatments and shots. To emergencies when you need immediate care they are just as great. When my small dog was struck by a car they took care of her and me. Got her stabilized to a state where she could be transferred to another veterinary hospital for surgery. Can't thank them enough for their contributions to my pets health.

Negative experience: am utterly dissatisfied with my experiences at Yaletown pet hospital . On multiple occasions, I’ve felt pressured into unnecessary treatments for my pet, leading to excessive and unwarranted charges. The care has been substandard, with my pets continuing to suffer post-visit. The technicians have consistently demonstrated a lack of professionalism and consideration. Negative experience: We took our puppy couple times already to that clinic. We loved the doctor Sofia. She is a very passionate doctor, love her job and very professional. We gave Only 2 star because the front desk employees .Their demeanor was quite disappointing, as they displayed unprofessional attitude. Any questions they were replying in a manner as we came to theirs own home and kinda bothering them. First our visit we thought probably the front desk lady is just not in the mood but after visiting more times looks like all front desk employees are not in the mood all the time.This behaviors came across as very immature and was certainl not the professional way to interact with customers. Negative experience: My dog has been a cherished member of the Yaletown Pet community for many years. In May, I visited the establishment to acquire travel documents for my canine companion. However, during this visit, I encountered a new front desk employee, a young woman of Asian descent with bleached hair. Her demeanor was quite disappointing, as she displayed a rude and unprofessional attitude. It seemed as though she regarded herself as a princess, even rolling her eyes while I was dealing with the anxiety of getting my pet's records in order. This behavior came across as very immature and was certainly not the professional way to interact with customers.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Devery called me and went over a treatment plan in detail for my cat, he spent a lot of time answering all my questions and he also suggested a cream medication, instead of a pill - much easier to administer. I highly recommend Dr. Devery for your pet, he is very knowledgeable and really cares.

Fantastic experience: Oh my God I don't even know where to start other than to say I cried the first time that Dr. Sophie took a look at our cat Frankie… I could feel her genuine love and care for him and already that took so much stress off of our shoulders. Everything was explained to us in more detail then we even knew we needed. I'm so grateful to have figured out that this is where our animals need to be seen S/O to Tanzy the vet tech who was also incredible with him.. both of these humans have set the bar for how I want my animals to be treated going forward... and that bar has been set HIGH <3 IN LOVE WITH THIS PLACE

Negative experience: MONEY GRABBER AND TOTAL SCAM! Stay away from this hospital. We originally chose this location as this was the closest one to our place. When we adopted our 8week pup, we scheduled a health check up with them. He was immediately diagnosed with heart murmur (which was a surprised to us as the breeder didn’t tell us about this) and the narrow base canine (aware of) has to be extracted asap. We were then referred to specialist and quoted us $800 for heart scan and $1200 for canine extraction for our 8 week puppy. As a first time fur parents, we got so worried so we seek a 2nd opinion today (he is now 11weeks) and did the 2nd vaccine. He is 100% healthy, no murmur and no need to worry about his canine. We were then relief!! Stay away from this hospital. Such a money grabber!!! They don’t really care about your pup! Also, a week ago when we are coming for 2nd shot of vaccine, we came in 10minutes late and cancelled us! And wanted to rebook us but has to charge us penalty for coming late the first time. Why would I ever go back and Pay late charges? I’ll just move on to the next vet.

We provide recommendations and support for our clients to make informed decisions about their pet's health. We're glad to hear that these health issues were not detected at his second exam and, as noted by our veterinarian here, these were issues that he could outgrow but was not guaranteed to resolve on their own.

We're sorry for the inconvenience in needing to reschedule your wellness exam. The appointment time for vaccine and wellness consults is only 20 minutes long. If we feel that there is not adequate time left in the appointment to give a thorough consult and exam we will ask to reschedule. The late/cancellation fee is usually only charged after repeat instances and we're sorry that this prevented you from coming back.

We sincerely hope that your puppy continues to do well and that you are happy with your new veterinarian.

Fantastic experience: I cannot say enough about the care and attention our sweet Millie received this week at YPH. We had a very stressful situation, mixed with other difficult circumstances. Every single person my husband talked to in person and on the phone/email were AMAZING. The doctors went above and beyond what we expected. We received frequent communication with words of care and kindness, attention and respect from the staff at YPH. Our family was under so much stress but we knew and felt that YPH was truly trying to do their best and their best to make our time more tolerable while Millie was in their care. I can go on and on and on. Our Millie is home now and resting after her two days at YPH. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We take comfort to know that she received lots of cuddles during her time there.

Fantastic experience: My 8 year old Labrador Retriever ingested marijuana yesterday and I was completely distraught and overcome not knowing what happened to my beautiful girl. The team at Yaletown were miraculous in understanding, care and kindness! Because I was such a wreck when I arrived for help, I completely forgot about payment. Negative experience: I came here with my new puppy last month and the vet spent all of five minutes with me for $108. She weighed her, spent less than a minute feeling her and that was it. Then she wanted me to get extra vaccines that weren’t necessary yet and genuinely seemed annoyed that I said ‘not today, thank you.’ I went to SPCA for my puppy’s two month vaccines and every single staff member was so friendly and kind. I’ll continue with SPCA even though it’s a drive versus a walk to Yaletown.

Fantastic experience: They’ve been my vets for 8 years! First for my older ex-feral rescue cat and then for my kitten! Both have had a LOT of medical problems. My kitten is now 6.5 and every time I have to move I hope I’ll still be close enough for this to remain his doctors (I don’t drive)!! I had to separate from my ex at one point and he took the older cat while I took my younger (Odin). The staff were very understanding and helpful through the process. Both of my cats ended up with IBD diagnoses - the first to be diagnosed (youngest) had it from when he was 6 months old. It took a long time and a lot of sickness to figure it out but it’s very unusual in such a young cat so I understand how that can be. He also had a rare form of juvenile stomatitis. We ended up having to go to a dental specialist for that who also was able to diagnose a form of trigeminal neuralgia. They handled all the referrals and exams really well - including things like ultrasounds. The one issue came when we had to get a referral to an imaging centre for Odin’s ultrasound, but it wasn’t Yaletown’s fault. He was always very gentle with the staff despite all his pain, but after that trip he’s never been the same and the pandemic handoffs (exams without me present) made it worse. He has a lot of anxiety at the Dr now. Despite that, as long as they’re warned of his anxiety they handle him with extra care. He always needs yearly dentals and they always take amazing care of him. If I’m present for exams he does ok too and they do their best to make that happen, even for his rabies booster. They let us into the room early so he can get comfy and I always appreciate that too. The front desk staff are ALWAYS sweet and cheerful. I know there will be a hard day in my future where I’ll have to say goodbye to my lil Odin. I expect with their care and his conditions under control it’ll be many years from now, and I hope we’re still able to be with Yaletown because they are the best. Not cheap, but the best. I also love their new Go Fetch partnership. For a patient like Odin with a $90 a month prescription, 1-2x per year visits, and $1500 dentals it’s an amazing deal! He’s basically an uninsurable cat because of his medical history (insurance excludes everything), so this is beyond better than that option and way cheaper! I also want to say; with my older cat she had a medical crisis in the middle of the pandemic and was VERY sick. I had to nurse her every day for months with SubQ fluids and so many meds (ex feral no less) and they were so kind and supportive. Every single vet we’ve ever seen cares so much.

Negative experience: I took my dog to this clinic today to do a bladder test, but the doctor took my dog away and did a nail trim without asking for permission. My dog's nail kept bleeding and the doctor did not give any treatments before I left the hospital. When I got home, it still had not stopped bleeding and my poor dog kept licking her nail. Half an hour later, I went back to the hospital again and picked up my dog's medicines. When I talked to one of the nurses called Tanzy, she did not apologize and her attitude was bad (i.e., When I was thinking if I should bring my dog back again, she talked to me aggressively: "I am talking to you, are you trying to ignore me?" and she also complained about my dog was too anxious, should doctor/nurse to be more patient to our pets? There is absolutely no surprise that my dog became anxious because her nail was trimmed to bleed). More importantly, she argued that the doctor would not let the dog walk out the door if it was bleeding, but the fact was my dog was bleeding at the hospital and the doctor let us walk away and did not give proper treatments and advice. Firstly, they did not ask for permission to give a nail trim. Secondly, they did not give treatment when the nail was bleeding. Thirdly, the nurse Tanzy slandered me for lying about the dog bleeding in the hospital, but I was telling the truth, which can be confirmed by the doctor. I feel so disappointed and upset and would not go back again. I requested Tanzy ask her manager to contact me. Hopefully, the hospital will get back to me about this matter. I can understand that it was an accident and it may happen to my dog, the doctor did apologize for the bleeding and I was fine with that. The worse part is when I went back again, the nurse Tanzy's response and attitude were really tough and aggressive, which I could not bear. Before doing anything to my dog, is it common sense that the doctor/nurse should ask first? I am not sure why Tanzy was fighting against me about that. (This picture was taken after half an hour of licking by my beloved dog, before it was even worse, blood everywhere on the fur of the feet.)

Fantastic experience: My puppy was attacked and they took him in quickly (even though they're not an emergency vet, just the closest to where I live), were extremely kind and gentle, and my pup left LOVING the vets and techs there! Very, very rare for him to leave happy and I'm so grateful for the time the vet spent with me explaining what they did and also answering some unrelated questions. Will definitely be back!!!!

Fantastic experience: We had a devastatingly sad but loving end of life visit for one of our dogs. The loving care, patience and time the YPH team showed and gave to us was such a gift. Our other dog who is a reactive rescue, is treated with respect and I am so grateful for their kind consideration in honouring her challenges. This is the best clinic I have ever been at and I cannot recommend YPH enough.

Fantastic experience: They really care about your dog! It's been five years since I adopted my dog(Doyou), and since then I've been loyal to Yaletown Pet Hospital. I've been very pleased with their service so far. Last week, my dog had dental treatment by Dr. Devery and dental technician, Hailey. They gave me very detailed information on his teeth conditions and how to lock in his dental health for a long term. Not to mention how professional, friendly, and warm they were. I was a little worried that he would get extracted some of his teeth, but luckily they saved all his teeth. Also, he recovered very well. Most of all, I was impressed with their care for my dog this time. I highly recommend Yaletown Pet Hospital!

Fantastic experience: I have had many issues with my dog since he was a puppy. I had to take him to many vet/pet hospitals. I was never completely happy with the service. It always felt like a money grab "Hey, we need to do a gazillion exams because your dog threw up, it's gonna cost you 3k". Yaletown Pet Hospital was different. it's the only place I trust has the best interest of my pet without trying to zero my bank account. If they don't think an exam is really necessary, they will tell you to monitor the situation first. They are very competent!! I had to move from Downtown, and now I live over 20km from the place, and still go there. It's honestly the only place I trust my dog. My dog also loves going there (and he's received tons of injections in the place -- but still). The only thing for me is that it is very hard to get an emergency appointment. Over 2 times my dog was sick, I tried to get and appointment, no luck. I guess, I'm not the only one who trusts the place.

Fantastic experience: I really loved my previous vet but I just didn't want to drive out that far anymore, given the time it took and the reality of today's gas prices. I had read some really positive reviews about YPH and so I decided to switch. I've been twice now, both for routine things (vaccinations), and both times my dog Zoey and I met with Dr. Nicole Yu. Dr. Yu is great! I love her kind and gentle manner and I just felt really good and very confident about having her taking care of Zoey. Dr. Yu is also a great listener and that means a lot to me. I think the decision to switch to Yaletown Pet Hospital was a really good one!

Fantastic experience: Our dog has been under the great care of Dr. Myers and his team for over 5 years. They've taken wonderful care of him after a racoon attack, allergies and arthritis etc. Kind, knowledgeable and compassionate care always given by the team there.

Fantastic experience: Dr Alan Namazi, and his support staff including Spencer & Sara are all so lovely! I took my dog here for the first time for a surgery, and they were attentive, caring, and communicative the entire process. They always answered all my questions quickly and made me feel comfortable during the process. Would highly recommend!

Negative experience: I took my pet there for 3 years. Just do yourself and your pet a favor and stay away from YT. ALL THEY CARE ABOUT is MONEY, NEVER YOUR PET HEALTH. Over the past 3 years, I saw multiple doctors and never the same person. They pretend they know your pet and what happened since the previous visit, but it's all pretending. It's not that they are overpriced for their location. It is the fact that they DO NOT CARE about your pet, and you can see that by all random recommendations that I got over 3 years from different docs.

Negative experience: The most money grabbing Vet I have ever seen. They charge exam fee around $100, HOWEVER, if you have more than ONE question? - That’s $120! For a diarrhea they would want you to do all the possible tests they can think of…..X-ray, fecal tests, full blood test, after spent thousands of dollars they give you no diagnose! Sent you home with bunch of expensive harsh medication which do not cure anything. When you email to follow up or ask any questions after you just dropped 2 grand with them, you’d think you would get an response. Nope! If you want to get a flee medication from them, sorry, you need to do a check up and pay $100 exam fee first, even tho my dog just seen them few months ago. Now I know how they afforded all those MacBooks for each doctors. Better use that notebook to brush up your medical knowledge and learn to diagnose your patients properly and be responsible doctors before you are charging that 20% mark up exam fee, and over priced tests costs.

Fantastic experience: This is a professional and caring clinic. The admin will help you feel comfortable and you will have choices about payment methods as they use Go Fetch, which is great if you need to budget your vet bills! Every Vet we have seen here has cared for my animals very much. You have choice about your treatment options and they give you the time needed to understand your pets health.

Fantastic experience: The vets at Yaletown Pet Hospital are amazing, patient, and caring. They always call before moving forward with any procedure to get your approval (even if it requires multiple calls) and give options for medications/remedies to work within your budget if needed. They always email for my dogs birthday and any other important updates. Highly recommend.

Negative experience: I'm always suspicious when a place won't give you a price for a basic procedure... Neutering and spaying have been bog standard operations for decades, with vet clinics performing them on the vast majority of pets. So when I call up and they want to do a $108 assessment (corrected) and then refuse.. flat out REFUSE to give a price for one of these procedures... I'm not impressed. terrible business practice. will not be patronizing this shop. edit, in response to below response: the question was *how much is a spay*, not how much is a spay and teeth and anything else that might be wrong. how much is a standard spay. this is a question that 8/8 of the other clinics I called can answer. yours refuses.

I'm sorry that your interaction with us resulted in you feeling suspicious of our practice. It is difficult for us to give price quotes for a pet that we do not know. Spays and neuters are routine procedures, but are not simple and range widely depending on the pet. Some pets require dental work on baby teeth while other pets might require more care depending on their age and if there are other procedures needed at the same time. Our new patient exam is $108 and then the doctor can give an accurate treatment plan after she or he has examined your pet.

Fantastic experience: I took my 11 week old puppy here for his second round of vaccinations. The Dr. was nice. I was confused when they took my dog to the back for his vaccines. Would have preferred to be with him during the vaccination but I'm unsure of their policies and they weren't explained to me. The puppy seemed totally fine when they brought him back so I'm sure it all went smoothly, I will continue to bring him for his next appointments.

We associate the vaccines with lots of treats and love and then a return to mom or dad to make it as stress-free as possible! Negative experience: We have been loyal clients of Yaletown Pet Hospital for over a decade. They have been successful in recruiting some great vets but face significant retention issues. Over the course of 10 years we have seen over 15 vets. The challenge is that each provides different guidance and as such, this is disruptive and disjointed when dealing with long term health issues. Each time I visit Yaletown vet, I am asked the same questions about my dog's history. This takes time and results in me being charged a comprehensive exam fee for a reoccurring issue. Most recently, this resulted in being given conflicting direction amongst 2 vets, conflicting direction between what one of the vet's told me and what he told the staff and me leaving with an untreated ear infection for my dog and no solution identified. The technicians and the front desk staff have always been kind, caring and service oriented but lately there seems to be some issues amongst communication overall. After expressing my concerns to the Clinic Director, I was essentially told the clinic was unwilling to address the issue and communication has been delayed (1 week response times) ever since. My husband expressed that we may switch clinics and there was no response to trying to retain our business.

Negative experience: This place has many issues. They did dental surgery on our 65-pound dog and released him to us unable to stand or walk after general anesthetic. Our dog fell down on the sidewalk and we had to carry him. This after they told me that I could come alone to get him and there would be NO issue getting him into my car. Thankfully, my dog's dad was with me and was able to barely carry him. They had also promised that he would be treated in the morning, which we requested because he is an anxious dog and we didn't want him staying alone in a room for too long. They asked us to drop him at 7:30am but didn't treat him until 3pm, which means he was basically alone and anxious for 6 hours. This is a major setback for him. I take my dog to a different vet now, but since the appointment at Yaletown Pet where he was basically abandoned, he is now skiddish going to any vet. Yaletown Pet runs business like a fast-food drive thru. Do your pet a favour and find a clinic that offers more personal service and proper care.

Fantastic experience: Amazing experience. It was my first time coming to YT Pet Hospital with my newly adopted pittie mix Bella, just for check ups, food advice, etc. And the woman who helped me was so kind and knowledgeable (dark hair, Australian I think, lots of tattoos — sorry I forgot your name but you’re awesome!!) My new baby is still super nervous of strangers and can be reactive but the girl that helped me out knew exactly what to say and do and it was honestly such a reassuring experience. Could not recommend this place —and it’s staff— enough!

Fantastic experience: Always amazing care and service, they never tried to upsell. My dog is not an easy dog - he can be defensive and snappy when strangers try to touch him. But the doctors there are all very patient and understanding. Honestly I’ve never had a problem/negative experience with them.

Fantastic experience: Really awesome experience with Dr. Karly Little. Went in for an initial exam as we've just moved to the area and it was excellent. Have never experienced this level of care from a vet before. Karly really took her time to learn about our dog's experience, medical history, etc. She answered all of my questions and gave great advice. I never felt rushed or like I was in the dark about what was happening. Everything was really well explained. I also didn't feel like I was being forced into expensive or unnecessary care options, like I have at some other vets. Follow up communication was also awesome and they have lots of online resources to make things more convenient. Would highly recommend and looking forward to our next visit!

Negative experience: Money grabbers! Come with your wallet full. My dog just had a wellness and annual check up back in August. Now they won’t give her her rabies vaccine without another wellness check. Can you tell me when was the last time you, as a human, had to have a check up appointment with your doctor before getting a vaccine? For flu, covid, or any other? Makes absolutely no sense, except that the vaccine cost is only $35, but the wellness check is $100.

Negative experience: What’s the rule of this place? If I cancel an appointment within 24 hours, I got charged, if I am late, I don’t get service or be postponed to next available time, which might be an hour later. BUT, when you want to change my appointment I made weeks weeks ago due to your own reason, I have to accommodate even I have fully scheduled myself. No apology, just repeatedly asked if I can schedule another date, otherwise I have to wait outside of the hospital when I arrive at my scheduled time for whatever time you need until ready. Even after I asked if I can get a phone call 5 mins in advance so I can be there instead of waiting in the wind because I literally live 5 mins walking distance from the hospital, the answer is no, without any sorry, or at least hypocritical “sorry”. Hey Googler, can we invent a cancellation charge to the service provider?

Fantastic experience: YPH has always provided amazing care for our dog. They always do their best to accommodate any urgent issues even though they are always so busy. The techs, assistants and Vets are always friendly and supportive. I can't imagine going to another clinic.

Fantastic experience: I have been taking our Bengal cat here for years. They are thorough and always follow up. I feel like my pet has doctors who really care and they are good with the stressy human parents too. Parking is a pain, but worth it. And they have a sense of humour. This framed print was on the wall in one of the exam rooms.

Fantastic experience: I 100% recommend that you bring your Fur baby to see Dr Karley and her team. I am new to the neighborhood and noticed some odd behavior from my senior cat. I looked for places online to check her out and called yaletown pet hospital as they already had great reviews. I explained what I was seeing with Cher to Amelie who was able to fit me in the next day. I met Dr Karley who was very professional, nice and very caring of both my pet and my anxiety over her condition. She explained my options for testing, provided some immediate treatment for Cher and she and her staff answered the (many) questions I had during and after my visit. Unfortunately the testing found that my cat was very sick. I was called and my options were explained but what I really liked was there was NO pressure to choose an option and the staff were very clear about what each entailed and the costs for each but also was very honest on what my baby would go through and what would be the best for her longevity. In the end the heartbreaking decision was made but Dr Karley and her staff did everything in their power to make the situation as easy as possible, she stayed past the time she should have been off of work, Gave me time to spend with Cher and was with me till the end. I can not say enough of how grateful I was for how both me and my cat were treated during this time. I will adopt another cat and I will go back to Yaletown Pet Hospital for their care as I have never had such great and caring service from a vet office.
