We were very anxious about our cat’s situation, but she kept us calm and explained every detail clearly. She was so helpful and kind—truly an angel. I’m so happy we got to meet her!

He also was very good at handling our cat in a way that kept her calm. Staff followed up to inquire about our cat's progress the day after the appointment, which was appreciated.

Fantastic experience: Such a lovely clinic. Every single person we interacted with was so amazing. Everyone is so caring and you can tell they genuinely love what they do. Even before our first appointment, the front desk employees were incredibly helpful with getting our files opened and answering questions we had. Dr. Namazi has such a calming presence which was so great as vet visits are usually a big cause of stress. He took the time to explain everything to us and ensure he had a detailed understanding of our cat’s history. He called the next day with blood test results and counselled us through next steps. Overall, we’re so grateful to have found an amazing Dr. and clinic in our neighbourhood.

Fantastic experience: I was greeted by a staff member who directed me into an examination room. Angel came in and sat with us and asked me to describe in detail what the problem was with my cat, all the while treating me with compassion. Then Dr. Namazi came in to see her and he took his time examining her while he spoke to me. He didn’t push for bloodwork and a whole bunch of tests which I greatly appreciated because my cat is a very senior cat. He did suggest a medication to soothe her arthritis pain but didn’t push at that time. He merely gave me an information pamphlet and encouraged me to research it. Of all the vets my cat has seen over the years Dr. Namazi is my favourite, he is personable, calm, knowledgeable and respectful. You can tell he has a very deep love of animals.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been coming to Vancouver Downtown Pet Hospital for a while just to buy food, but recently I had to bring my cat in urgently without an appointment because our regular vet is far and traffic was bad. They kindly accepted us right away, treated my cat with so much care, and did an excellent job with his injection. The staff were amazing. they even recognized my cat by name, came to pet him, and helped him feel loved and calm even though he is usually very nervous. Although this isn’t our regular clinic, I had such a great experience that I will definitely come here for any urgent visits or smaller treatments. They are professional, kind, and truly trustworthy.

Fantastic experience: I just love my new vet clinic! I've had 3 occasions to go there in the last 2 weeks (Onyx is fine now) so I think I've met everyone. From reception (phone and in person), through intake and treatment - I found myself wondering where they managed to find such consistently kind, efficient, animal adoring team members. They all acted like they'd never an animal as sweet/cute/perfect as mine - a lovely a thought but I suspect they make every Patients' Human feel that way. Each visit involved a thorough exam, detailed explanation of everything that was happening and very helpful recommendations for go-forward pet care. At the same time, they're careful not to over-treat, with unnecessary tests etc. Even the physical space itself is immaculate. Being open 7 days/week is SO great and they're fully equipped for most emergencies. I stopped in with my new dog because they're nearby and all I needed were vaccines, I'm thrilled this is my neighbourhood vet.

Fantastic experience: This is by far one of the best vets I’ve been to, Dr.Namazi was so caring for my dogs health. I’ve been to many vets and most of them didn’t care for my dogs health as much as this doctor did. He went through the steps throughly and went over my dogs scans and blood work from my other vets. My dog went in for pancreatitis and I was so worried and immediately did iv drip. I’ve never been so thankful for the love and care from this hospital! Fantastic experience: We have been taking our fur babies to Dr. Alan since December 2021 and couldn’t be happier with the treatment and professionalism that we receive. After Baya giving birth to 12 healthy puppies she required life saving surgery. It was a Friday afternoon 5:00 pm (one hour before closing). The surgery had to be done immediately to try and save her life. Dr. Alan and assistant stayed the entire night and performed the operation. Final outcome, Baya is a brand new healthy dog.❤️❤️. The dedication and care for our pet was clearly the sign of a vet that cares about your pets. The VDPH is probably the best Vet we have ever encountered in a long history of having pets. Highly recommended that you entrust the care of your pets with Dr. Alan and his very competent staff. ❤️❤️❤️❤️ This was our first visit to see Dr. Namazi. We were extremely impressed with the care and attention given, especially on such short notice. Everything was explained in terms that we could understand. Highly recommend Vancouver Downtown Pet Hospital. The staff are very welcoming as well. So happy that we switched vets and now use the Vancouver Downtown Pet Hospital. Fantastic experience: Dr. Jessica Robinson was great. She was informative and very patient with me. It was my first ever vet experience as I’m a first time pet owner. My puppy arrived two days prior to my visit so I was quite anxious about the days head and ensuring his health. Dr. Robinson really put my mind at ease and I feel like my pet and I are in good hands!

Fantastic experience: This was my first time bringing my new cat into this vet. Dr Alan was absolutely amazing and could not have been kinder to her. She was showing signs of stress and pain, and he would not do anything to further this, he only had concern for her well being. Fantastic experience: We had a great experience at the Vancouver Downtown Pet Hospital. I brought in our kitten for a vaccination and the staff and Dr. Namazi were so kind and gentle to her. We even had a follow up call the next day to check in on how she was doing. I’m glad we relied on the many positive reviews of this clinic, it definitely exceeded our expectations.

Fantastic experience: We had a wonderful experience with the entire team, especially Dr. Namazi. Our Bengal cat sprained his ankle and they were able to see us the very next day. The staff explained over the phone what to expect and what signs to watch for, which was so reassuring. Dr. Namazi had a calm presence and a great sense of humor. He helped keep both us and our cat at ease, and gave us clear, practical advice for his recovery. We felt truly cared for. Thank you to the whole team!

Fantastic experience: Went with Ziggy for the first time this week , super good experience. Will for sure go back! Clean , nice , easy .. and the staff we meet was super friendly . Little Ziggy can be nervous sometimes but he was completely calm so that’s a 5 star right there .

Fantastic experience: Dr Allen Namazi is an extremely professional and well-seasoned veterinarian. He was very gentle with our eight weeks old kitten and clearly knows his stuff, answering all our questions and concerns. He makes us feel very reassured during our visits! Not to mention the other staff are absolutely lovely, helpful, and clearly have a caring passion for the profession. I don’t think there’s a better veterinarian (and clinic!) for us and our two beautiful cats. Highly recommend! 10/10.

Negative experience: Please sort reviews via lowest rating. We wish we had. We have now seen both of the male vets (maybe there are more?). While the desk staff are truly wonderful, we don't have much positive things to say about the vets. Found them both to be condescending and on our last visit the vet clearly had no idea what was wrong. We went somewhere else for a diagnosis, and are thankful we did.

Fantastic experience: I wasn’t happy with the previous vet clinic so took my cat here for a checkup due to the great reviews and wasn’t left disappointed. Dr Alan was super kind, knowledgeable and thorough. The staff there is also very lovely and helpful with answering all my questions prior to booking an appointment with them. Negative experience: We sent our dog here for a surgery for a mere broken bone, when we got the call at 5 pm, they said our dog is on the brink of death, and we have to go to the emergency room. When we reached the emergency room in a hurry, the vets there stated that our dog has a slim chance of surviving. The vet there stated it was likely a cause of anesthesia overdose which resulted in a cardiac arrest. After spending several thousand dollars, we finally rescued our dog. Our dog came in here lively, ended up almost facing death. Wouldn’t recommend.

Negative experience: This place just charged me $460 to stick a needle in a fatty cyst. Told them I just want the needle aspiration and not an exam, what do they do? Charge $110 for the vet to use a stethoscope to listen to my dogs heart when I came for a cyst. I'm beyond pissed.

Fantastic experience: They are by far the best vets I've gone to. My dog had to get a toenail removed she went in shaking and scared, but they gave her so much love during the procedure she came out happy and not wanting to leave. There prices are very reasonable and they were fast and efficient, no long wait times and very professional and kind. They will be my go to vet clinic moving forward!

They always try to fit us in the same day or the following depending on the severity of the condition I am calling about. The doctor is very knowledgeable and provided us varying care options as to be sensitive to cost.

I deeply grateful to have such good care for my little guy who is full of special needs. Hanhan has seasonal interdigital dermatitis, and the cleansing solution she recommended has really helped with his paw recovery. We’re very grateful for her care and expertise. Highly recommended!

Fantastic experience: We have been here since we moved to downtown in 2023. All doctors and staff are very caring, knowledgeable and kind. Even if we don't have any appointments, my dog wants to go in and say hi to them while we walk by which is really good for him so that he has a good memories and experiences to go there! Fantastic experience: We saw Dr. Namazi again for our 13-month-old Bernedoodle and, again, I was really pleased with the attention to detail we received from Dr. Namazi as well as the girls in the front office. The staff are so warm and friendly and Angel is very knowledgeable and helpful, making us feel comfortable throughout the visit. Dr. Namazi was really patient and kind to our nervous and high strung puppy and she soon settled down with his calm demeanor. In fact, she tried to jump back onto the examination table after the exam was finished, proving she was very much at ease toward the end of the visit. Dr. Namazi gave us the diagnosis and provided the medication and samples of the food she needed to help with her digestion and ear infection.

Fantastic experience: I took my beautiful Afrika to the vet because she was losing weight very fast and eating less. Unfortunately she was in stage 4 renal failure and although we tried to recover her kidneys it was no longer possible. She passed away a few weeks later, but, I can not thank enough how they behaved with her, Dr Alan, Dr Jessica, the technicians (I do not remember their names but they were all beautiful people, mention the Chilean girl who had a mini connection with my cat, since I brought her from Chile). The day I made the decision to put her to sleep was very special. They made everything perfect, with a lot of love, empathy and dedication. They printed her paw on a beautiful postcard and gave me her ashes in a beautiful urn and now Afrika my faithful companion for 11 years rests near me. Thanks to you, you made my mourning a little bit better.

Fantastic experience: I've recently switched vets to VDPH and never looking back. Dr Alan and his whole team are always so kind to my elderly cat and myself, but most importantly they discuss everything with you in detail. They always take the time to patiently answer any of my questions - provide possible causes of the issue, prognosis, and tests that we could do - and I stress "could" because they don't just force you into doing all the tests all that once. They prioritize them, share all the costs and benefits of each one, give you options, and then proceed with follow ups if necessary. My cat has been losing weight for over two years and all I got from my previous vet was "he's getting old". Thanks to Dr Alan we're now on meds (please note his immediate prognosis and medication were spot on) and for the first time in ages he's gaining some weight. <3 *also I've never gotten cancelled on or had trouble booking in

The doctor was very nice and professional and I felt calm, Next day he personally sent me an email to ask about how my dog was going. The price was very good, very reasonable. I really recommend this vet specially Dr. Jessica, definitely will be my dog's vet.

Fantastic experience: I feel incredibly lucky to have found Vancouver Downtown Pet Hospital. Absolutely every single staff member my little guy and I encountered was so incredibly kind, warm, welcoming and caring. From the moment we stepped in, to the phone call later that day to check up on him, everything was above and beyond. Dr. Namazi took great care and was so kind, patient and informative. He explained everything so thoroughly, did not rush anything and had such a kindness to him. I feel very safe and confident in continuing my dogs care with them now and in the future. I appreciated how fast it was to have the x rays and blood work done and results given in less than 30 minutes. Cost is incredibly reasonable as well. Fantastic experience: Super nice and accommodating. Clean office, the Doctor is kind and thorough. A little pricey but most vets are, that’s my only negative thought. I’m super picky with Vets being scammed in the past so Vancouver Downtown Pet Hospital is on my trust list. Go see them.

Fantastic experience: Caleb (miniature schnauzer) is really happy with his care he recieves @ Vancouver downtown pet hospital. Whenever he walks by the front door during closing hours, he would go and sit at the front door and look into the clinic for a little bit and then resume his walk.

Fantastic experience: Our 11 month old italian greyhound sliced his toe open and we needed an emergency appointment. We hadn't been to this vet before, however VDPH were able to get us an appointment 45 minutes later to get it looked at. The reception staff were all so kind, attentive and accommodating, and Dr Jay Bridges was able to ease our usually very nervous boy. We had such a positive experience here and would highly recommend them. We even got a call this morning from the team, checking in to see how our boy was healing. Thank you for turning our traumatic moment into a positive experience :)

Fantastic experience: Such a great experience. The whole staff is always friendly and caring. Dr Namazi is so kind. I first came in with our previous dog was aging and had arthritis, the vet was so helpful and knowledgeable and listened to my concerns. We have a new rescued terrier mix and Stitch loves Dr. Namazi. Stitch is a bit scared and wary of people at first and Dr. Namazi approaches him with upmost care and keeps him at ease. Most importantly, I never feel that the clinic is giving me advice and treatment plan that my dog doesn’t need, that is so important for us.

Fantastic experience: Update: It's been about one year since we've started coming to VDPH. Dr. Alan and his staff are absolutely top notch. Very friendly and kind to both animals and humans. My dog underwent neutering here and both the surgery and the recovery went great. Additionally, my dog has experienced food allergies but Dr. Alan has always assessed and provided solutions for us. He's never been wrong about a diagnosis and all his recommendations have helped. Overall, very happy with the service and products offered!

Fantastic experience: My senior dog Nina is visiting me in Canada, and unexpectedly got sick. I was so anxious and scared as I didn’t have previous experience with vet care in Vancouver. All my friends with pets recommended VDPH and I couldn’t be happier to have found them! She got better almost immediately with the treatment they gave her. I brought her for her boosters a few weeks later and was equally happy with the thoroughness and care with which they treated her!

Fantastic experience: Just gonna say how much we LOVE this team and Dr. Alan!! AWESOME!! The entire team is wonderful. Appointment is best - but we did do a walk with with my sons dog and again the Doctor was wonderful. Very friendly and VERY knowledge without adding “extras” all the time. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: All the staff here, including the receptionists and veterinarians, are all very kind and reassuring. Although my English is not perfect, I always appreciate how everyone takes the time to explain things clearly and patiently. While some vets may recommend various treatments and procedures primarily to increase their sales, Downtown Pet Hospital offers different options and leaves the final decision to us. This approach is one of the reasons I feel comfortable visiting here:)

Fantastic experience: All the workers are professionals as doctors and know how to communicate with animals in their language. We were there with two cats and were very pleased with the visit.

Negative experience: The clinic has badly burned our cat during spaying with a heating pad. If you care about your pets, avoid this clinic or risk exposing them to the negligence of the people here. We brought our kitten here for spaying, and after picking Luna up, we noticed sensitivity on her side, which we initially attributed to recovery after the surgery. However, when the pain didn’t improve over time and areas of hardened skin resembling a crust began to develop, we brought her back to Dr. Namazi for a check-up. He not only FAILED TO IDENTIFY THAT SOMETHING WAS WRONG, but also got seemingly frustrated that we even suspected something might have happened to her during the spaying. He determined the cat was totally fine and waved us home. Utterly disappointed with the visit, we went straight to another clinic. Well, a doctor there identified a burn on her side, the healing of which took a considerable amount of time. After examining the burn more closely, the hypothesis we were told was that she had come into contact with something hot enough for long enough to leave such a significant burn. This absolutely could not have happened at home (how would she tolerate such heat?), and the only way it would have been possible is during anesthesia after the spaying.
