Brant Norfolk Veterinary Clinic - Emergency and After Hour Services: Avis
Expérience fantastique: Thank you to all the wonderful staff for the great care and all the love for baby, for taking all the time to answer all the questions that we had during the stressful time.
Expérience fantastique: We didn’t know that this emergency pet clinic was here until we needed it, and we absolutely are glad that they are. The vet and tech’s were all excellent and provided exceptional care for our sick little frenchie, and we are so grateful for the medical support they provided. They had the medication she required for use as well as to bring home, all on a weekend evening. Every pet parent should know about this site and what they have to offer, especially during an emergency on non-regular business hours. Our many thanks to all staff at Brant-Norfolk Veterinary Clinic !!
Expérience fantastique: Our dog had break through seizures and had to be seen. I called the clinic and the receptionist was very kind. She took my info and gave me very explicit instructions for when we arrived. When we tried to get in the car the first time to go, our dog became very distressed. We returned home and I called the clinic back and explained the situation. I had a different receptionist this time but she was very kind and advised me to wait awhile and try again. All she asked was I keep them updated on the situation. We were finally able to get her to the clinic and again everyone was helpful, empathetic and kind. We saw Dr Chelsea and she explained everything. She did not in any way try to suggest extraneous treatments and was respectful of our decisions. For an extremely stressful situation everyone was professional and kind and made the experience less traumatic for our pup and us. Thank you to everyone for your empathy and kindness. As an added note for those who will ask, our bill was very reasonable for their services.
Expérience fantastique: Recently my sneaky dog ate a wrapped bag of dark chocolate from under the Christmas tree and the staff were so helpful every step, and he’s doing great now, thank you!
Expérience fantastique: We have had a fabulous experience here all of the times we have needed their expertise. Tonight was no exception
Thank you for your kind words!
Expérience fantastique: I called last night expecting to be told to rush to the vet, based on experiences with other two other vets when the same incident had happened previously. The woman who picked up the phone was patient, thorough, and non-judgmental. She gave great advice and saved us a ton of money when she could have easily fleeced us. The dog is all good. Good, honest people like this are hard to come by. Thankful for this service and they will be the first call I make it I need emergency vet care moving forward.
Lucas, hope all is okay....thank you.
Expérience fantastique: I can’t believe how quickly and efficiently they looked after my puppy’s bleeding dew claw. I highly recommend that you call first and get an appt time. We were in and out in less than a half hour. Excellent care of my fur baby! Thank you!!
Hello Linda,
You are very welcome!
Expérience fantastique: Clinic is very clean, was only open clinic at 8 pm in Brantford, waited 4 hours due to a lot of emergency visitors, doctor was very informative and patient.
Expérience positive: They were very kind and compassionate. They were very caring to us and my dog.
Expérience fantastique: While no one really enjoys heading to the emergency vet late on a frigid Sunday evening, I did have a very good experience at the Brant Norfolk Emergency Vet Clinic! The admin staff were so professional and polite on the phone and were so fast to get us checked in once we arrived; the vet consult was prompt and the treatment options and plan were thoroughly explained; and the discharge process was so detailed. Everyone was so helpful and kind and they put me right at ease. My boy seems to be feeling much better today and I am truly grateful for this amazing group of humans! Thank you!
Expérience positive: Excellent care for our sick maltipoo, great communication around aftercare. Wait times are long because of triage system.
Expérience fantastique: Went there over 2 years ago. We drove two hours with a baby to go. The bill was reasonable and the care they took when putting my baby down was incredible. Now that we have taken our other pets to closer vets, I really appreciate this vet even more.
Expérience négative: Worst emergency vet experience of our lives. Rushed our dog in to be euthanized as she was battling a disease for months, she was at end of life, struggling to breathe. My husband had her in his arms begging for someone to help him and they turned him away because they were too busy. The lack of compassion from the front desk was appalling. Animals are most people’s family members too, not just a transaction or inconvenience. We will never recommend this establishment.
Brittany, I am so sorry for.your family fur member and yourselves!
If you are able to talk, please contact me through the clinic's email, [email protected].
Thank you,
Lori
Expérience fantastique: The 'Brant Norfolk Veterinary Clinic' is truly incredible. The entire team (from the ladies at the front, to the vet techs, all the way to the head Doctors), was considerate, compassionate, and very understanding of the fear I was feeling seeing my boy, Titan, in pain. They didn’t just care for him; they cared for me, too. They allowed me to stay with him as long as possible during our visits, and they patiently handled all of my “peace of mind” calls through the night while I waited to see him again in the morning. Their kindness never once made me feel like a burden. There is no way for me to fully express how grateful I am to the staff at 'Brant Norfolk Veterinary Clinic'. They helped make Titan’s final days filled with love and peace, rather than just feeling like time spent at a vet clinic. I won’t list names in case I shouldn’t, but they know who they are. From the bottom of my heart, thank you all. You are an amazing group of people, and I will forever be thankful for how you cared for my boy and for even making sure I was taken care of, as all my attention and focus was on my boy. ~ From Titan and Teagan
Reagan and Family,
We are so sorry for the.loss of Titan.
He was a special boy and we enjoyed hearing about all his life stories during your visits.
Please take.care and, if you need us, we are here for.you.
Expérience fantastique: Thank you for your compassionate care for Sammy's end of life. Much appreciated.
June, so sorry for.your loss. It is never easy to say farewell to a furry member of the family.
Expérience fantastique: Was here 10 years ago for my one cat who was very sick and won't make it through the night. Staff was amazing and supportive than. I went back Wednesday night and took my cat in that issues with his glands. I was afraid it would of been outrageous pricing but they were willing to help me stay within my budget. They handled my cat with care. Made sure everything was okay with my boy. Took there time to discuss everything answered all my questions that I may of had. Clean facility and super friendly staff. Was in the clinic for maybe 2.5 hrs. I will be returning to this clinic if I have any pet emergencies. Thank you so much to the vet that helped me. I greatly appreciate it. The vet assistant who first came in and took all elmos information and letting my boy listen to his heart beat and making him feel less anxious about his cat. Thank you Vicky I believe was her name for walking me through all his meds n everything before leaving. The front counter staff for greeting my son and I soon as we entered the clinic.
Thank you, Kim, for.your kind words. Hoping your furry friend continues to do well.
Expérience fantastique: We can’t thank the team at Brant Norfolk Veterinary Clinic enough. When we had to unexpectedly say goodbye to our sweet Maxi this past weekend, their warmth and empathy made all the difference. From the very first phone call — when I could barely speak through tears — the woman I spoke with was incredibly kind and patient. That compassion over the phone was our first sign that Maxi would be in loving hands. When we arrived, we were met with that same kindness and care. The staff treated Maxi with such tenderness and respect, making sure he was comfortable and surrounded by love. They allowed us all the time we needed to hold him close, talk to him, and say our goodbyes without ever making us feel rushed. Saying goodbye to Maxi was one of the hardest things we’ve ever done, but this team made it as gentle as it possibly could have been. We will forever be thankful for the care they showed our boy, and for the compassion they showed us. They made sure his final chapter was filled with grace, comfort, and so much love — and that is a gift we will never forget.
May Maxi rest in peace and gentle hugs to you....
Expérience fantastique: Dr Alashraf examined and explained all options of treatments for my ailing cat. He was very kind. Unfortunately i returned at 6:am the next morning having to have her euthanized. I want to extend many thanks to the young woman at the front desk who was so kind and compassionate during the unbearable experience.
Barb,
Please accept our condolences on your loss.
Expérience fantastique: Everyone at this emergency vet clinic was amazing, from start to finish. It started with my phone call — I spoke with Corrine, who was patient, kind, and caring. She eased my mind as much as possible and helped me feel more comfortable bringing my dog in so late at night. When I arrived, the receptionist, Iris, met me at the door before I even had to ring the bell — and it was well after 11 p.m. Her empathy meant a lot in such a stressful moment. Once inside, the vet tech, Brianna, was incredibly patient and thorough. My dog was having diarrhea, and she didn’t hesitate to help when I needed to take her outside before the assessment. She listened carefully and made sure to understand everything that was happening. Lastly, Dr. Nadeem was wonderful — his warmth and compassion stood out right away. He was gentle with my dog, took the time to explain everything clearly, and treated us both with genuine care and respect. I’m so grateful for the entire team. They turned a stressful night into a much calmer experience.
Expérience positive: Didn't go well. Doesn't know what's wrong. My big girl passed away in the afternoon at the clinic. But still, thank you for everything.
Expérience fantastique: The most compassionate people I've ever met. Thank you
Expérience fantastique: Thank you to everyone on Staff yesterday for your compassion and patience with Duke and our family. You helped us greatly as we said goodbye to our beautiful boy.
Expérience fantastique: Yesterday we had to make the terrible decision to put our beloved Juno down. Unfortunately our regular vet was closed, which brought us here. The staff were kind, considerate and very empathetic to our situation for just meeting us for the first time. They made a devastating situation bearable. I also saw how they interacted with a number of clients, and they were great. I would consider them again in the future for any of my animals needs.
Expérience fantastique: It is never a good day if you're visiting an emergency vet clinic. But the staff at Brant/Norfolk Clinic brought us in immediately. Very professional and compassionate. You helped make a horrible experience just a little easier to handle. Thank you.
Expérience positive: Very courteous staff, awesome veterinarian, and very reasonable prices for being the only one open after everybody else is closed. I will go there every time.
Expérience fantastique: We called at 11 pm on a Friday because our Standard Poodle swallowed something whole. The receptionist was extremely friendly and patient. She consulted with a doctor and gave us our options. We decided to come in to induce vomiting to be safe. We were out by 12:30. Very quick, painless, a bit pricey but that's to be expected with after hours vet care.
Expérience fantastique: We have had to use Brant Norfolk Emergency Vet Clinic a couple of times over the years. Everytime we have been here they are absolutely amazing! The staff have amazing bedside manner with pets and owners, they truly treat your babies like their own. I also find their pricing extremely transparent which is amazing especially when your emotions are running high worried about your pet, you don't have to worry about any surprise bills. They go over everything with you in a best and worse case scenario for pricing. Would highly recommend them in any emergency situation!!
Expérience fantastique: Took wonderful care of our dog Maggie providing vital care for her when there was none available in our own city. Thank you Emma and Dr Chelsea for being part of her recovery team ❤️
Expérience fantastique: I have been here a few times with our pets and each time it is quick thorough and very pleasant….they ease your worry/anxiety that comes with bringing a sick/injured animal there
Expérience fantastique: Such a caring place that immediately made my Molly Dolly comfortably sedated after I raced her there in distress from congenital heart disease. A home like setting as opposed to a sterile table to say good bye to your furbaby with no pressure to buy anything and beautiful things to choose from. I highly recommend them.
Expérience fantastique: Although we waited quite some time for an emergency ultrasound for our 14 year old dog Harvey, when I saw Dr Kierstyn I was very impressed by her balance of professionalism and kindness. She had to deliver some really tough news to me who was caring for Harvey as well as to Harvey's distraught parents on the phone in BC. Absolutely heartbreaking vet visit but the whole staff were very kind and patient, especially Dr Kierstyn. Thank you.
Expérience fantastique: We met the kind folks at Brant Norfolk Vet emergency clinic in the middle of the night after our Diego had a seizure and we finally had to make the decision to euthanize him. They were very understanding and compassionate.
Expérience fantastique: This is a long overdue review on a visit on August 09,, my problem child TJ has problems sometimes with his anal glands, I had an appointment with his regular Vet the following day,, but he was scooting and crying alot, I couldn't wait for the little guy and called here and spoke with AlLISON WATT, CCR, she was professional yet kind and clear regarding cost,, when we arrived she greeted him by name,, she also spent some time with us in the exam room while we waited, KAELA COLLIN, RVT, came in and took TJ to check his glands,, check came back negative and that his glands were empty,, she suggested giving him a good bath and rinse,, suggesting his skin may be irritated,,, she was more than fair with the cost,, my goodness I was so happy, bathing suggestion worked like a charm Thank You,, ALLISON WATT and KAELA COLLIN TJ and Charlotte
Expérience fantastique: Excellent service and no extras just added on without asking unlike my local vet on vacation here in brantford area. Really impressed by the staff and prices
Expérience fantastique: Words cannot express how thankful I am for how they handled one of my worst days. Thank you to every single team member Morgan and I interacted with. You handled the worst case scenario with compassion, grace and respect.
Expérience fantastique: Went here for the first time today and felt like our pup was very well taken care of, the staff was also fantastic with explaining everything to us.
Expérience fantastique: We unfortunately had to take my dog in for vomiting and retching and she was diagnosed with GDV. Her stomach unfortunately flipped which is deadly for dogs. Dr. Martin and her staff did amazing at getting our dog triaged and seen in a good time frame and were able to bring her into surgery a little while later. They saved my best friend and I could not thank them enough for their help. You can tell the staff there truly care about your pets. I don’t know what I would have done if we lost her and now thanks to this clinic and their amazing team I don’t have to. If I ever find myself in another emergency with my pets (knock on wood that doesn’t happen) I won’t hesitate to bring them here. ❤️
Expérience fantastique: They took good care of my dog after he jumped through a window
Expérience fantastique: It was a very sad time for me but All the staff were the best the grieving room was spacious and comfortable
Expérience positive: We have had to come to the emergency vet now a few times with a couple of different pets. The clinic staff are very professional. We have been pleased with the care given to our cats.
Expérience fantastique: Outstanding staff and we spoke with many of them. Our dog Chance was well taken care of. Do not hesitate!
Expérience fantastique: I had a wonderful compassionate experience when bringing my 16 year old cat in for end of life. Dr Chelsea and her staff were so kind and patient. Thank you for making this so respectful and peaceful.
Expérience fantastique: Brought in my dog for an emergency visit. Ended up that best case of action was to have her put down in her 13th year. I can say for how sad of a situation this vet made it the easiest they could on me. Everyone was great and compassionate. I was extremely thankful.
Expérience fantastique: The entire team at the BNVC was amazing during one of the hardest days of our lives. Dr. Emily Blake was the definition of empathy, kindness and professionalism during discussing our girls prognosis and guiding us through the process of putting her to sleep. The vet techs who assisted us were equally as wonderful and helped us feel supported during the whirlwind of our visit. Thank you for guiding our sweet Nala over the rainbow bridge.
Expérience négative: Sadly I had to have my ferret Phoebe put down here, she was having a seizure and probably had a brain tumor since she was old. The staff were amazing, so considerate, so supportive and very professional. Sadly can't say I'm happy with the price of $500 to have your loved ones pain ended. I couldn't go anywhere else either since it was Sunday and everything was closed except for this place so I felt trapped in having to pay that much.
Expérience positive: The vet here was amazing. Came in with a dog emergency and felt genuine care, everything was explained empathetically and with honest expertise. The expense of course is the one less star. Ugh! Vet bills (and on a Sunday).
Expérience fantastique: Although no one ever wants to have to take their fur baby to the emergency vet, they definitely make the situation as good as they possibly can. Sunday night we had to rush our boy in because he managed to get a fishing hook stuck in his paw. Unfortunately I was so upset at the time and I don’t remember anyone’s names, but everyone was wonderful. They immediately took him back for pain medication. There were a few more cases above him and I think we ended up waiting total about three - three and a half hours which was plenty reasonable for how busy they were. They communicated with us the entire time and let us know how he was doing with everything. Unfortunately we had a budget to work with that was quite a bit below the initial quote, but they were able to change things around and still help us and stay within our budget. Although we would’ve LOVED to just go with whatever, we did not at all feel any judgement about stating that we had an amount we had to stay within and they went out of their way to make sure that happened. Definitely don’t understand the comments that they are only out to get your money and don’t care about the animals. Springer is now happy as can be and acting like nothing ever happened.
Hello Ashley,
Thank you for letting us know Springer is doing well! We wish you all the best!
Expérience fantastique: Sadly a couple of weeks ago my 12 yr. Old Maltese Suzie became critically ill. It was on a weekend near midnight and because of prior health issues it became apparent that it was her time to leave me. I was heartbroken but after calling the Clinic and explaining my emergency they told me to come in. When I arrived I was met at the door and was treated very kindly with compassion and care. They helped me so much and as sad as this situation was it was also calm and bearable. They made this hard situation easier to go through and I would recommend them to an anyone in an emergency situation with their pet. I miss my little Suzie so much, but I was glad they helped to end her suffering with love and dignity. Thank you.
Expérience fantastique: We had a positive experience with the clinic. Our beautiful cat, Winnie, started hyperventilating and within minutes had lost the use of her hind legs and was clearly in severe pain. We called them and although they acted quickly I felt they asked a few too many questions before explaining how to “coral” her and put her in her carrier. Sadly she stopped moving when we got her zipped safely in her carrier. We drove 40 mins to them even though we knew she had passed. I called them frantically on the way and they did explain how to do resuscitation techniques but also warned us it likely wouldn’t work. When we arrived they immediately took her from us and confirmed she had passed due to a likely heart attack. Thank you to everyone at Brant Norfolk Vet Clinic for your support during such a traumatic time. Our hearts are shattered from loosing our beautiful Winnie far too early
Hello, please accept our sincere condolences once again on the loss of an important member of the family. Take care.
Expérience fantastique: We had to emergently put our sweet dog down on Easter weekend. The staff were fabulous and so caring. Their compassionate suite was beautiful and was a lovely place to spend our last moments with our Charlie. Thank you so much for all that you guys do, it's a tough job ❤️
Expérience fantastique: Where do I even begin. This clinic, has gone above and beyond for my girl. Went in 2 and half weeks ago my dog was suffering from bloat (gastropexy) Within a hour, of diagnostic imaging, consultation, our girl was in for surgery within a hour time frame. They were so quick to respond, and the 2 vets I had the pleasure of meeting made this experience a lot easier. I’m truly grateful for this clinic and ALL the staff. My husband and I stayed till our girls surgery was done, the staff was talking to us to make us feel at ease and try to distract our thoughts on our girl while in surgery. When finally we went home, we had to be back in a couple hours to transfer her to my regular vet they even sent me an update and an image of her and that she was doing great. They have followed up with me many times to check in on her. Thank you to the ENTIRE team for saving my girls life. We today celebrate her 8th birthday because of you guys. She is back chasing her horses, and being the boss girl she is around here. Thank you so much for everything Chantelle, Trevor & Indy
Expérience fantastique: My pup got attacked unprovoked by another dog on the street and was bleeding quite a lot and I was glad to find this 24 hour emergency vet since our regular vet is in Burlington and this was in the evening. We took him in and we were terrified, the folks here were outstanding. He got triaged quickly and Abby kept us up to date with the probable timeline, she explained there were some other pups in pretty bad condition but ours was up and walking and looked bright so the vet would be in as soon as they could, no problem. We waited maybe half hour after triage and Abby went over what they were planning to do and he got taken back, didn't have to be sedated and got cleaned up and assessed. Abby even took him back a bit before the vet was ready so he could get used to her and be a little more comfortable. The vet was kind and concise with her explanation. We were in and out in 1.5 hours with our minds at ease, some pain medication and antibiotics. I am so thankful for this place, they are beyond kind, work so well and are very professional.
Hello Holly,
Thank you for your positive review. We aim to do our best for each pet that attends our facility. We do hope your pet continues to improve!
Expérience fantastique: Had a fantastic experience here today! I called around to several clinics seeing as ours is closed today and with the long weekend, I wanted to get my girl checked out right away. I called the emergency clinic, told them I was coming in and the nature of the injury, they took down my info and my dogs name. I went in an hour later and walked in and out within 45 min. The vet and the vet tech were very lovely with Rosie! I will definitely not hesitate to return in the event of an emergency. Highly highly recommend coming here with your pet if you’re unable to see your regular vet. Thanks Dr. Emily and the staff at Brant Norfolk Vet Clinic!!
Hello Ashley!
Thank you! We do hope your girl is still continuing to do okay!
Expérience fantastique: Wonderful staff and excellent with pets I really appreciate the pictures and messages of how my furbaby was progressing and I love the visiting room they have
Hello Lisa,
Thank you for your kind words!
Expérience fantastique: Unfortunately, I have been here twice in the last week. I have been looked after quickly, from admitting, to a room, to a rep, and follow up by a veterinarian. I have needed follow-up care from my regular vet as well, but I appreciate having the after-hours on Lynden Road available to me and my dogs. Thank you very much, Brant Norfolk Veterinary Clinic!
Expérience fantastique: Brought our 3 year old Shih Tzu in tonight for limping. Dr Nadeem Asi was wonderful. Thorough exam and gave her space when she was uncomfortable. Explained everything very well and gave us recommendations while we wait to see our regular vet. Waited about an hour but someone was saying goodbye to their fur baby, so was to be expected.
Expérience fantastique: All staff were extremely helpful from the second we made the phone call, to leaving out the door. Everyone made an unbearable evening as smooth as possible. Our beloved Gracie was taken out of suffering and got to peacefully cross the rainbow bridge.
Expérience fantastique: All of the staff were very kind, thoughtful and comforting. I am very thankful for the kindness extended to myself and my pet through this very difficult time.
Expérience fantastique: Thank goodness for emergency vets! After a sudden and scary injury for our pup (on Good Friday), I was able to bring her to the Brant Norfolk clinic right away. They took my girl in immediately and assessed her. The staff were professional and kind. I would recommend this clinic for any emergency vet needs.
Expérience fantastique: They were amazing. My cat was found this morning seizing and holding on; I called and within 45 min I was in and he was helped across the rainbow bridge. I appreciate the efficient help and the kind/caring ladies I saw this morning
Expérience fantastique: BIG BIG Thank you ,to Mrs Allison and Mrs Leah for the exceptional help we received from both of them. They helped us a lot delivering 14 XL american bullies. Thank you for your patient, your knowledge and the support we received.
Expérience fantastique: These folks did an amazing job taking care of our big brute regardless of size. We were in & out within 4 hours. Appreciate all they did for us & our Ferny.
Expérience négative: I’ve never in my life been thought what I’ve gone through yesterday and today with my pregnant dog in labour. I had an emergency and was refused service this morning from them and was told my emergency would tie up the dr for too long and should take my pet 30 mins away to another vet. The next vet I went to I was in and out with in three hours so to me that’s not all day. This is not a wonderful experience with them
Expérience fantastique: All the staff is incredibly amazing! The environment is calming and welcoming. Kudos to Dr. Hanada for being the best vet we’ve come across. She is so caring, thorough and you can tell she loves her job and the animals!
Expérience fantastique: I wish I could write this based on a different outcome however considering this was such a heart renching experience for us, the overall compassion and care is worth writing about. We were very nervous heading to an emergency vet hearing such mixed experiences. However, reading the reviews we actually went out of our way to attend this particular clinic when our dog Piper started to have a medical emergency. We weren't prepared for the news we received, as our home clinic unfortunately did not find what this clinic did. Based on the prognosis, current condition and QOL assessment, we all agreed we had to let her go. The staff were absolutely wonderful, patient and we felt they were authentic in their care and attention. They have a wonderful comfort room, which is home-like and not sterile and we were able say our final goodbyes in our own time and in our own way. Thank you to the staff for all you do and giving both Piper and us dignity to say goodbye.
Expérience fantastique: Thank you for supporting us during this difficult time, we finally have closure now that Stewart is home with us.
Tony and family, so sorry for your loss. Take care of one another.
Expérience fantastique: A huge thank you to the team at Brant Norfolk Emergency Vet for their quick and kind assistance during our dog Millie's labor. While we ultimately didn't need their direct help, as Millie delivered her pup enroute, they were ready and waiting to assist us. They provided valuable advice and support both over the phone and upon our arrival, showing incredible care and professionalism. Their reassurance during this stressful time was so appreciated, and we are truly thankful for their support. Highly recommend them for any emergency care needs!
Expérience fantastique: I want to say a huge thank you to Brant Norfolk veterinary clinic! I took my cat (Bear) In tonight for emergency care. Bear was not acting himself, he couldn’t pee in the litter, he was needing assistance to get out and kept going back to the litter to try to pee. He was having trouble walking and not responding to being called, you could tell he was in pain. .I called and they took him right in, they were so caring and kept me informed the entire time. Like most people who love animals, bear is my best friend and I would be devastated if anything happened to him. They gave me his diagnosis along with pain meds, and food to switch him over too. He is home safe and sound, resting away. Thank you so much for the kind, compassionate care to both myself and Bear!!!!!
Expérience fantastique: I’ve been to this clinic a few times over the years and it’s always been a good experience. But today they were stellar! After 12 years my beloved Rudy succumbed to lymphoma after an 8 month battle. I brought him to the clinic when he became listless and his breathing had turned laboured and heavy. The staff were patient and kind and allowed me all the time I needed to say goodbye to Rudy. I never felt rushed or treated in an impersonal manner. The attending DVM was amazing. She explained everything in detail and patiently listened to my feelings and thoughts. I originally wanted my attending vet to do the euthanasia fearing that the experience at this clinic would be too impersonal. But it turned out to be a comforting and personalized experience. They seem to understand that time and patience is sometimes all a person needs to get through one of the worst days they can have. A big heartfelt thank you to the staff at Brantford Norfolk Vet Clinic! Your kindness, patience and compassion will always be remembered, as will Rudy. ❤️
Hello Kevin, please accept our condolences on your lost. Saying good-bye to Rudy is one of life's most difficult decisions. Rudy will always be with you, in your heart ......
BNVC Team
Expérience fantastique: I have to give all of the staff a ton of appreciation. We had to make a very hard choice for our family last night and they showed the upmost compassion and understanding. They were very informative on all options moving forward and were very empathetic towards what we chose. Immediate action was taken upon arrival and all the way through the time we spent in the office. Thank you so much to all the staff for making our hard choice as comforting as possible ❤️
Expérience négative: Horrible experience!! Our 11 week old puppy wasn't eating or drinking and consistently vomiting and having diarrhea. We called them and they said since she was so young she needed to be seen right away and to call once we were in the parking lot so they could do a Parvo swab. Once we got there it took over an hour of sitting with our sick puppy in the van before we were allowed inside with a negative Parvo swab. After we were inside it was another hour before a Vet came to assess our puppy. At that point in time she kept exaggerating how sick and dehydrated our puppy was and that she needed immediate care and should be hospitalized there on IV. We told her we would like to discuss our options. 45 minutes later they came back and we decided we would like to take her home with IV instead of hospitalizing her. At this point they got angry with us! They also still didn't get her any fluids after being there for nearly 3 hours. They also tried to push us to buy pain meds for her when we knew she wasn't in any pain, after we declined they left the room and slammed the door! Then they made us sign a form saying we were denying their medical advice. I asked if she's sooo dehydrated why hasn't she got any fluids yet? The vet said "because I need to wait for this to be signed sealed and delivered". EXCUSE ME!? They say my puppy is so sick and acting like she's dying but won't treat her without a credit card! Once they realized we weren't push overs they gave her fluids (at 8:45pm when we arrived at 5:05pm) and gave us what she really needed and ended up saying "she isn't extremely dehydrated she will be okay". So it went from being dehydrated and dying and giving us a $2500 vet estimate to leaving with her and a $725 vet bill and some IV fluids. I will NEVER return here ever again! They are rude and only care about the money and not the well being of your pet.
Expérience négative: When I called tonight to try and save the life of my dying cat, the woman on the phone was extremely rude and hassled me over an email address. My cat died shortly thereafter. Whoever was on the phone tonight needs to lose their job and find a different career. They are not an appropriate choice to be dealing with people with veterinary emergencies.
Expérience négative: Terrible experience! This place is all about the money not the well being of your pet. Our dog was brought into the clinic with a small gash on his side. The vet did stitches and they popped open after 7 days and the wound was 6 x’s bigger! Management wanted to take no accountability and said it’s never a guarantee after spending over $1000. Months later we had another emergency and didn’t know anywhere else to go, we decided to give them another try. Drove all the way there with our very sick dog who had a bone sticking out his side and after making my husband wait in a room for an hour they came in and told him they will not see our dog because of the last Incident! This goes to show you how they absolutely do not care about your pets well being!! Response to your reply: I don’t know what you consider “alert and bright” but he could barely stand, whimpering and was shaking in pain. He is currently at another emergency vet and they have given him pain medications and he will need surgery. This carelessness of your doctor needs to be heard!! How can you turn down a sick animal in extreme pain? This is horrible and you should be ashamed!
Thank you for your review.

Expérience fantastique: My mom's 16 year old terrier Jake took a turn for the worst last night and we had to bring him in knowing it would be an end of life procedure. My mother was incredibly upset to be losing her long time baby, and the staff here were incredibly empathetic. We called before we brought him in and they explained the cost associated and options we had for cremation. Upon arrival, Amy (receptionist/ assistant?) was very sweet and understanding. The technician that looked him over was named Heather and she was also extremely sweet and spoke in a nice soothing tone. She took the time to explain to my mother what was going on with him and assured her that we were making the absolute right decision. We were not rushed whatsoever, and again, every bit of empathy and kind words were given right up to the end of our visit. Although we left without her boy, they made a very difficult night, a lot easier for my mom and I'm so grateful.
Hello Mandy,
Please accept our condolences on the loss of your fur friend. It is never easy to say goodbye.
Expérience négative: I had taken my German Shepherd in on an emergency basis. We would learn that he had an underlying issue with his cancer prognosis. I was given an option to either buy him 24 hours of time or euthanize him. When I asked the staff of the effectiveness of a catheter in this situation, most danced around the question and responded with a “it’s your choice” answer. Albeit not helpful, I understand it can be difficult to say what needed to be said. I had to call a friend that lived in BC, explain the situation, and have his dad (a registered veterinarian) explain to me that my dog needed to be put down. Why I had to rely on that is beyond me. We decided euthanasia was his only option after a hard fought battle with an adenocarcinoma (anal sac tumor / aggressive cancer). At the time, I was instructed that cremation was included with his euthanasia, and was told to “choose an urn from the top row, as they’re included” and was also told a paw print would be given. Nobody discussed pricing with me, nobody quoted me for his euthanasia + what we had already done. As a distraught dog dad I was in no condition to be firing “blind” through this process; however, due to a lack of communication I was charged well beyond what we had initially discussed. Not once did anyone speak to me about the updated cost or pricing of these procedures. My initial quote with procedures that were not done was $816.00 and change. What I discovered the following morning was a $1,500.00 vet bill that included a $520.00 charge for cremation, that I was told was included in his euthanasia expense. Although the staff were helpful, I felt incredibly rushed in decision making and did not appreciate the lack of communication. I was losing my dog, and my Emotional Support Animal. I suffer from High Functioning Anxiety and Clinical Depression, and this situation has made an already tough time MUCH worse. I hope, for the sake of future patrons, that this does not happen again. I will not entrust any future care of my animals to this clinic. Update: After considering my case, I was contacted by the lead clinician, who was incredibly empathetic and helpful. The tech who did not provide the necessary information had the audacity to lie about what happened even though myself, my grandparents, and my father were present and are all aware of what happened, and what information was omitted. Absolutely never again will I enter this building. Mistakes happen, own them. Very big shame.
Rob, we do hope you find some comfort, each day, knowing Kouver will always be close by, in your heart, that is full of memories. Please take care.
Expérience fantastique: A leader in compassionate veterinary care. Thank you to the team at Brant Norfolk Veterinary Clinic. My mom’s 12 year old Bull Terrier suddenly became ill yesterday. I had heard great things about this clinic and now I understand why. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that this clinic was different. SnoopS had the choice to lay on a cozy blanket (supplied by the clinic) during his visit. Another nice touch was the light dimmers in the room so he could rest. Most importantly, the quality of care went above and beyond. I wish I could remember everyone’s names, but the truth is, they all stood out as incredible caregivers. Their communication was clear and detailed when it came to wait times, diagnostic results, prognosis, and treatment plans. Unfortunately, our boy had a large mass in his abdomen which resulted in his rapid decline and we had to make the difficult decision to say goodbye. I’m so grateful to see a veterinary clinic prioritize end-of-life care. Not only did they have a sign in the reception notifying other pet owners that someone was saying goodbye, but they also have a living room area where you can spend time with your pet in a non-clinical setting. This room has lots of pet treats and even has hair trimmers if you wish to keep some of your pet’s hair. When you are ready for the vet, you push a call button and they come to help your pet cross the bridge. We truly appreciate that everyone who cared for SnoopS loved on him. Thank you! We’ll miss our little Snoop Dog.
Lauren, thank you for your kind words and entrusting such an important friend with us. Snoop Dog was so loved....our condolences.
Expérience fantastique: We had to take our cat to the emergency vet after hours because he was acting weird, couldn’t jump and wasn’t using the bathroom. We were greeted immediately at the front desk and eventually we saw Doctor Kiersten. She was so kind and compassionate and explained the options and levels of care we could provide to our cat. She was extremely thorough with us and gave us time to make our decision. I asked her a million and one questions and she answered every single one of them. We never once felt rushed or pressured. It’s a crappy situation to have to go to the ER but if you have to take your animal somewhere, this is the place to go. I'd also like to shout out Emma, Leah and Iris who all treated our sweet Rocky with love and care. Couldn’t recommend enough!!!! 5/5!!
Thank you. The team at BNVC treat each pet attending our facility as if it was their own. Take care.
Expérience négative: TL;DR : patronizing about payment and found a flea on my dog I believed my dog had heatstroke and took a cab from simcoe to get here as it was in the early hours of the morning before coming I had called at 3 and explained that my account said it would take 1-3 days for my funds to transfer over and asked if there was any sort of deferred//payment plan until I could pay in full. They referred me to scratch pay which was greatly appreciated, however eventually unneeded the lady who greeted me was very patronizing and rude, with her first question being if I would be able to pay. I told her yes, the money did end up getting into my account so it was no longer an issue AND I was approved for the scratch pay. I even told her, right off the bat, how much money I had, to try and chill her out and let her know it's fine, just please take care of sara. however she AGAIN asked if the money was an issue and stressing the cost of the checkup being like 100$ or something and "all additional services costing extra", as if I don't know how businesses work...I understand I called asking about payment options but I was NOT in anyway trying to haggle or avoid payment and the raised eyebrows and strained questions were truely unnecessary. They were short handed and I waited in the exam room for a few hours before being seen, which was no issue at all, however during the wait I found a flea on the top of my pups head. I was praying it was just one from a passing by dog that came under the door she was laying by, but cue the itching and chewing a couple hours after arriving. I have never had fleas in my home, and while I got Sara recently I have been her groomer for over a year and a half and have never found any fleas or skin issues during any of her monthly appointments. All of my other pets are indoor only and the salon I work in has very high standards for cleanliness. I know for a fact there is no chance she had fleas before coming in. When seen by dr.kim around 9am Sara's symptoms had basically fully subsided and after a check over dr.kim said she looked good and didn't see the need for any x-rays that would just cost me more to find nothing. Both her and the vet tech who came in previously to check Sara were beyond kind and I truely appreciated them taking care of my girl Dr.kim had told me since I didn't need anything additional I could go into the lobby to receive my bill and pay And I finally got my bill at 10:45 To be fair, they did have some emergencies going on, and I very genuinely do not mind a reasonable wait, however I had multiple of their staff come up to me throughout my wait in the lobby and ask me what I needed or waiting on, confused aswell as to why I had to wait almost three more hours just to get the most straightforward bill they have lol Overall I am happy Sara is okay, but she continues to itch at herself. I definitely will be keeping an eye on all of my other, currently flea free, pets. I very much hope that is how it remains
Hello, thank you for your review. I agree, it can take a few hours to be seen on some days due to the high capacity of urgent cases (pets that are hit by a car, or a pet consuming they shouldn't have, respiratory issues where pets are open mouth breathing/needing oxygen, etc.)
Brant Norfolk Veterinary Clinic is an after hours clinic, when your regular veterinarian is closed or cannot see cases due to their high caseloads. We do run like a human hospital where all cases are triaged by a technician to confirm if pet is stable and can wait. This is actually good! We do value critique whether positive or negative and can only be mindful. Thank you.
Expérience fantastique: We've had to use their service quite a few times (unfortunately) but the care they give is exceptional. We've been lucky to have Dr. Kim care for our boy twice now. She is so thorough informative, and kind. Thank you for the work you do.
Hello there, thank you so much for your kind words. We truly want what is best for your pet and appreciate your kindness.
The BNVC Team
Expérience fantastique: Our poor cat had a medical emergency. We took him here, he did not make it. We and the staff did everything we could for him.The process was difficult for our family, going there 3 days in a row over new years. I want to give recognition to the vets and staff that were a part of our unfortunate journey. Kayla we want to say thank you again for your compassion and sympathy.
So sorry for your loss.....it is a sad moment for all concerned....take care.
Expérience fantastique: The staff was absolutely amazing. I called with some questions and they answered everything so timely and really made us feel comfortable. Truly appreciate them.
Thank you so much, Grace!
Expérience fantastique: Could not have asked for better care for our boy Allistor who collapsed and continued to have seizures. So thankful for the team you saved our babies life and gave constant updates and support not only for his human’s but more importantly Him . Forever grateful The Wighton family and thanks for the special drawing of him on his bag to bring home his things.
Thank you, Nadine. We feel both the pet and their 'Owner' are both important so we do aim to keep the updates/communication notes on a frequent basis.
Expérience positive: They treated my boy respectfully when I brought him in .showed him love n care I didn't know it was going to be the last time . .. RIP Teddy But glad I was there. I'm glad they were there Because other vets were full or not open on weekends . Wish I could of spent those hours waiting with him thou but we were seperated those last few hours apart
Hilary, so sorry for your loss of your friend.....take care....
Expérience fantastique: We had to put our precious Cooper to sleep last night. From the front staff to the doctor...they made this a bearable experience. Thank you for your incredible kindness, professionalism and humanity in dealing with us in this most devastating circumstance. The room you provided was incredibly soothing and our entire family felt like we were in our living room. Thank you for all you do. The Sordo Family
Expérience négative: I can’t speak for other peoples experiences and I’m sure they do their best but I was not impressed. Called because my vet was closed and They’re exact words were “They couldn’t accommodate me”. They are the closest emergency vet to me. I was willing to wait whatever their wait time was as my dog had an injury I didn’t think could wait until my reg vet was open. Happened I was right & ended up taking my dog who very much needed stitches/ and a drain to be placed in a decent sized wound to another emergency vet and had it taken care of. What’s the point of being open for emergencies if you “can’t accommodate”.
Expérience fantastique: Only great things to say about the lovely humans who work here. Vet med is often a thankless job, but boy do I appreciate every single person who monitored my sweet, silly girl, Crumpit after a major fb surgery. I got text updates with her care, and even a picture to help ease my mind once she started feeling better. Thank you!
Expérience fantastique: Unfortunately, it was a very sad visit for me. I had to say goodbye to my fur buddy. However, the staff and veterinarian who took care of us were incredible. They were very professional and compassionate. I want to thank everyone on staff that night for their empathy and kindness in my time of grieving.
Expérience fantastique: Our cat was suddenly ill. They took us right in and were very compassionate. Unfortunately our cat had to be put to sleep. But they let us sit with him for as long as we wanted.
Expérience fantastique: My dog got into something she shouldn’t have. I called the Brant Norfolk clinic after hours. The receptionists were very helpful and let me know the cost of everything up front and throughout the whole visit. I told the staff that my dog is reactive towards other dogs and they made sure to check every step of the way to make sure the waiting area was clear. The doctor was very helpful and gave us a few options and broke down the cost for each option. We were in and out in about an hour! I am very thankful that this clinic was available to me and my dog.
Expérience fantastique: These folks were incredibly kind. We brought in one of four rescued kittens we took in to have his eye looked at for an infection. They were so busy even at midnight, but the doctor and all staff were so patient and kind to us and kitten. If we ever need emergency care again I know we can count on them.
Expérience fantastique: We had a very unfortunate situation with our dog and he had to stay hospitalized here , the staff was very kind ,even sent text message updates and pictures. In the end we sadly had to put our baby down and again the staff was amazing . While hoping no one has to use an emergency vet but thats not real life. So we would highly recommend Brant Norfolk .
Expérience fantastique: Our dog was struggling with diabetes gluecose levels and had a Pancreatic issues. He spent 2 nights at this Hospital. The night shift attendant was very friendly and helpful explaining all his details from the nights stays.
Expérience négative: DONT LET THE SMOKE AND MIRRORS FOOL YOU. They act super nice but do not care one bit they just want your $$. If you can avoid going here, please do. I know they are the only after hours vet place locally but they are crooks. Nothing personal against any of the veterinarians, they were super friendly and treated my dog well. The way he was handled after he was euthanized and the way they tried to price gouge me 750 dollars extra on the cremation was appalling . They originally quoted me "about 1000 dollars" not including the price of an urn and that's after the 630 it cost to euthanize him. Then my father in law goes in and talks to one of the employees and they tell him 1200. We called Beattie animal hospital, they charge us 450 with a complimentary urn. And they use the SAME CREMATION SERVICE. We obviously decline, and pick up his body in the morning. They originally told us they were going to place him in a 'cold room' for the night. When we arrived to get him, they had to bring him out to our truck and I asked if they needed help-he was a big dog/150 pounds and there was only 2 women there, so she said I think we can do it but and I quote "we just need to lift him from ontop of the freezer". Thinking they preemptively took him out I didn't say much about it. Until I thought.. didn't she say cold room last night? And then I helped them load him in the truck, in this cheap nylon fabric bag the zipper litterally ripped off loading him. He was completely warm. He already wreaked of decomposition, the strange part is he was euthanized literally 4 hours before hand. There was no way whatsoever he was put in any kind of cold environment infact, he seemed warmer then it even was in the building or outside. Like he literally sat on the top of a deep freezer for the 4 hours. If they didn't have storage, they should have told me before hand and I would have made arrangements to pick him up right then. Good thing my girlfriend wasn't at work and made it to the clinic for the euthanization but if I had to show her her best friend in the morning smelling like decomp wrapped in tissue paper with a busted zipper I would of been livid. I understand he's not a person but she dedicated 13 years of her life raising him and loved that dog as much as a child. They almost let him suffer for 2 hours because I had to wait until 3 a.m for my direct deposit to pay for it and it was only 1 a.m. even with showing them I had proof of the deposit they still hummed and hawed until I said look my dog is literally passing out he can't stand up he can't breathe he is clearly in a lot of pain and distress can we please start the procedure and basically begged them, did they continue. Afterwards I waited in the waiting room for not even 20 minutes before they were paid. But the hassle they gave me was unbelievable. My dogs name was Kingsley by the way. American bulldog boxer. Gentle giant. Passed away from heart disease, and he was experiencing heart failure. Not something very pleasant for a dog, they litterally suffocate to death from fluid buildup around the lungs. Anyways, 1 out of 5 stars because they don't have a zero stars option. Would not recommend.
Expérience fantastique: Great experience today at this vet. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. They took really good care of my dog. Wouldn’t hesitate to go back if needed.
Expérience fantastique: The staff were amazing, I went in with our cat Mr. Potter who was very sick. Unfortunately he passed while they were treating him. Thank you everyone for being so kind and professional
Expérience négative: Called last night to get an emergency check. Dog tore his acl. 170lbs and can’t walk. They told me to come at 8pm. I showed up and couldn’t get him out of the car. The lady said to pull closer and get him out. After 20 minutes of me trying I went back in to again say he can’t walk. I need help. Another lady came out and said there’s a 6 hour wait and I would still need to get him in the building even though the stretcher wouldn’t work that they had. Why would they give me an 8pm appt to then say ‘you didn’t actually have an appt’. It took me 3 hours after getting home to get him back out of the car. Zero help. Entirely disappointed and he’s still suffering. I get the triage thing but I was there before 8 and spoke to 2 different people. Nobody said we can’t take him. Not to mention there’s only 1 vet in at night. Unreal Call someone who cares because these people do not.
Expérience positive: Saved me as much cost as possible and considering the $250 emergency visit. The staff on nightshift were very polite and used calming tones, which I appreciated.
Expérience fantastique: We rushed our dog into this emergency vet clinic in the early morning. The staff members were prompt and kind when taking our dog in for assessment. Unfortunately we were too late in saving our dog but the staff were compassionated and understanding and gave us all the time we needed in a private room to grieve.
Expérience fantastique: Called at 6am today extremely upset that my cat was acting lethargic and unlike herself and Jen told me to come in, but said if my appt moved past 7:30 I would have to be transferred to my regular vet, as that’s when they close. Arrived at around 6:15 and was seen immediately. Recommendations were made and sent to my regular vet, which I appreciated. Total for the intake exam, an anti nausea shot and 14 tabs of gabapentin was $360. It is more expensive than your regular vet, but the price factors in that this place is open outside regular hours. The peace of mind was worth the price I paid. Everyone was nice and friendly. I appreciate having this service available.
Expérience fantastique: The staff was unbelievably empathetic, kind and supportive. My husband and I had an emergency with our 8 year old dog and had decided she needed to be put to sleep( hardest decision of our life) We were absolutely beside ourselves and the beautiful staff made this extremely sensitive decision easier and were beyond kind to us in the state we were in. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Highly recommended! 5/5 would not hesitate to work with them again!
