Fantastic experience: Great service, great vets and great staff. They kept me coming here for 6 years even though I moved over an hour away and have other vet options

Fantastic experience: I have taken all my pets (cats and dogs) to this vet for nearly 15 years. Always receive great service, explanations and they have been allowed me to make payments on the larger services (surgery). They have treated me pets like they're own. Excellent! Hight recommend!

Negative experience: I was very disappointed in my last vet visit, I voiced a concern about my cat coughing, all the vet did was weigh her and listen to her heart/breathing . Just to tell me to go to shoppers and get human allergy medicine without even confirming she had allergies! It felt very lazy, quick and also weird they didn’t have medicine there? I got a second opinion because it didn’t feel right to me, and let’s just say i am lucky I did not give my cat the medicine she told me to get from shoppers, also could of been very dangerous. the second vet I went to had actual allergy medicine made for cats to so I’m not sure why this vet couldn’t provide that. Felt like a waste of money going there. Also it was a respiratory issue not allergies.

Over that time, they have gone above and beyond—always learning, always improving, and always going the extra mile to ensure our dogs receive the best possible care. Their depth of knowledge and genuine love for animals is evident in everything they do. Islandview Vets is an invaluable part of our community, and we are so thankful for all that they do—both seen and unseen. Thank you, Scott, Julie, and the entire Islandview team. Negative experience: So disappointed in this facility. I have now been a customer for at least 25 years. We are on the senior years of our second dog. I had an appointment set for 3.30 pm, did not get to see anyone, and at 4.15 pm, I left the premises totally upset. They put me in a dirty room........ Dog and Cat hair were everywhere. my little dog of course picked up most of it in the fur on the floor ..... I was so sick. Throat was closing, eyes were burning. They knew I had an hypo dog for that reason...... and still they left me there. So sad. use to be run so well before when Geoff and Janet owned it. If I could give it a 0 star review I would.

Negative experience: I witnessed a cat get hit by a car just up a ways from the vet. I called and got the after hours person I told him what happened and that I was looking for someone to help this poor cat I wasn’t sure if it could be saved and was told unless I was a client they would not let me take the cat there. I wasn’t sure how to respond to what I was just told. I said so you’re gonna let the cat die. He told me to take him else where. I was furious and crying at the same time. Do better Island view do better p.s. and for those who has a heart the poor cat didn’t make it

Fantastic experience: They were so calm and caring with me, they listened to my concerns about ability to pay and my knowledge. They informed me about what I should know and made me feel much better about my cat, and overall I had a very good visit.

Fantastic experience: This is definitely my go to place for Doggie Care. I own MACINTOSH KENNEL and whenever I have a question or concern....these guys always assist in anyway possible. Having my own two doggies as well, I want a place I can trust in giving my pups the care needed, as well as keeping me informed of any concerns with my cuties !!

Fantastic experience: I don't write reviews very often but this place genuinely is amazing. Our dog had pregnancy complications and their on-call emergency wasted no time getting there, getting her what she needed and providing a life saving surgery & more. The atmosphere is safe & welcoming, and they offer amazing prices for their services. If you want to go somewhere where you know you pets will be cared well for, I recommend this place 100%. Fantastic experience: To say they have gone above and beyond when helping care for our German Shepherd Luke and Mika (mostly Luke) would be an understatement. They have assisted with a canine tooth removal, regular 6 month checkups for his kidney function (this has improved with the food they reccomended) and other questions we have ocasionally. The staff at this veterinary clinic are AMAZING

Fantastic experience: I have a 15 year plus long standing relationship with this veterinary practice. I absolutely love Dr.Sir and Kavenaugh. Julie has also always been a godsend to us. 4 boxers and a cat thus far, and I've yet to have a bad experience with them. They've only ever greatly helped me. I will also note Ive also had clients with accounts here in the past that I transported the animals for to be seen, and been the caretaker for, for that particular vet trip. I do feel the need, after having read the review just before mine, to state I have never, in my entire existence of those 15 plus years, ever seen any of the vets at that practice, act in the way the reviewer has described. Ever.

Fantastic experience: We've been going to Islandview Vet for almost 20 years and the staff are nothing short of amazing. They have made both routine and difficult moments easier, and they show true, genuine care for the animals they help!

Positive experience: Thought my 1 year old Bernedoodle had lost weight this month.. They let me weigh him with no appointment.

Negative experience: This past week I had my 2 year old cat in for a check in and vaccines. The vet showed up 20 minutes late to my appointment, and spent only 2 minutes total with my cat. She gave my cat no time to warm up to her. Opened her kennel , grabbed her as she was getting out from it and forced her onto the scale. At this point the vet hadn’t even been in the room 30 seconds, or introduced herself to me. Shoved the 2 needles in her and pushed her back into the kennel. I was shared zero health information, which was half the reason I was there. I also heard my poor girl hiss for the first time because of how aggressive she was handled. Unfortunate to make this post after years of good service. Hope they can fix the issue within the business.

Fantastic experience: We welcomed a beautiful golden retriever into our family 4 months ago. We did our research on vets and we weren’t wrong. Island view has blown us away with their customer service. They have gone above and beyond - every visit! Lucy (our fur baby) jumps for joy the second we roll into their parking lot. I highly recommend them to anyone that is lucky enough to get in!

Fantastic experience: The entire office has been great with me and my animals. Came in for my large breed dog recently and they took care of him right away. They're clear and communicate on what has to happen or what possible outcomes could happen. They made me feel comfortable and calm the whole time while my dog was x-rayed and within a short amount of time we knew he had to have surgery right then to help him out. Thank you so much for helping. Would recommend to anyone.

Fantastic experience: Editing my review. One of my puppies got some broken toes, they were quick to book me in and diagnose the problem. I have been going here once a week for weekly splint changes and have been getting to know the staff. They are all so wonderful and caring and truely love my pup. I also brought in one of my adult dogs for a spay and they did a great job with that. Not too costly. Had to book a few weeks ahead for that, I assume their busy with surgeries. But that was fine. Review is now 5 stars. Just brought my litter of Dalmatian puppies here. I was nervous for any judgement being a first time breeder, but didn't feel any of that. Everyone was just so excited to see the puppies! I had a lovely experience here, everything was done in a gentle and fast manor. It was so clean in there and everyone is so friendly. They have very fair prices. I would definitely use them again. Only reason for 4 stars is I was overcharged and didn't realize until I got home, but they did offer a refund! Just have to go back to get it.

Positive experience: Absolutely love this place, great place to take my 2 Chihuahuas, however I was absolutely stressed about my pooch which hasn't been acting herself lately so I brought her in and was greeted by the reception crew, but the vet on wasn't to pleasant with what i was saying and ignorant I found, pretty much just wanting me to get out. My only bad experience with this place, rest of the vets are amazing and receptionists are all great!

Positive experience: Our family dog has always had excellent care at islandview. He has been a staff favourite and has been well cared for. During a pet emergency within the last two years, we saw a vet who was not our regular, who accused our family of chaining our dog due to fur loss around his neck area, despite the excellent care and love we have provided him for several years. Never before this experience had we ever been accused of poor treatment of our pooch. This accusation was incredibly disheartening and offensive, as we have provided exemplary care for our family member. Our regular vet is well aware of our treatment, care, and love of our dog. I would recommend being mindful of who you book with and seeing your regular vet as able, as it seems assumptions and judgements can be made based on very little information if you see a vet who is not your own and does not know your pets history

Fantastic experience: Dr. Stewart is a skilled veterinarian able to perform surgery on small critters, which is hard to find around here. I have gotten many pet rats spayed and neutered by him and have always had a stress-free experience. The staff working there are all wonderful and knowledgeable people as well, and the clinic's prices have remained reasonable. 5/5 vet!

Fantastic experience: The Doctor and Staff were amazing tonight. I had to bring my senior pooch to them for an emergency visit because my normal vet wasn't on call this weekend. The staff here are friendly, compassionate and gave us a break when charging us for some of the tests the ran. This was a huge help financially as this was our 4th day in a row that we had to take him to a vet. I would not hesitate to bring any of my pets to them. THANK YOU DO MUCH FOR EVERYTHING YOU DID TONIGHT!
