Fantastic experience: We just moved to Fredericton and one of our dogs has a skin condition that needs to be monitored closely. I loved the Waterview Animal Hospital in the Miramichi and was trying to find a vet with same exceptional service I had for years. I was delighted to find it in Dr. Erika Kubik. She was so kind to my dog Peter, gave him a very through exam and asked many thoughtful questions. She listened to what my experience was with Peter and then explained in detail the treatment she would recommend. She had also read all of his file before the appointment. I could not have been more impressed. Thank you Dr. Kubik for your skill and kindness. And thank you to Kim, the hospital's veterinary assistant for going over in detail Peter's medication. Peter gives both of you four paws up!!!

Negative experience: My experience with the doctor was very good — she was very clear about the surgery and what needed to be done. However, I had a very bad experience with the person in charge of administration because there was a confusion about the medication, and she treated me very badly. I had never experienced anything like that before, especially because they did not properly explain that they were going to open the medication and mix it with water. When I saw it, I was surprised and went to ask about it, and since I hadn’t refrigerated it, they took it away — even though I had already paid for it — and they didn’t want to give me a refund. Later, I spoke with the administrator and explained that I had no idea they were going to sell me opened medication and that I was shocked, but they had not explained it properly, and she was very rude and lacked empathy. I switched to another veterinary clinic and would never go back there.

Fantastic experience: We have been taking our elderly cat here for the past 2-3 years and have always found Fredericton Animal Hospital to be professional and caring. We have had positive experiences with everyone we have interacted with and have felt our kitty is well cared for. What prompted my review today was an exceptionally positive experience with Dr. Elder, who admirably demonstrated pet-centered care in a way that felt genuine and caring.

Fantastic experience: Very kind and patient staff. My cat went in for a dental cleaning and an extraction. I was very nervous and they made the process smooth and kept me well informed. All staff I have interacted with are enthusiastic and caring. Shoutout to Chase, Khristal, and Dr Trann:)

Negative experience: DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE - i just brought my pet in to get a checkup and the vet was holding her improperly where it hurt her and then DROPPED her on the floor. my pet was TERRIFIED the entire time and on the way home, she never is and is usually very outgoing. youre lucky im not reporting for suspected animal abuse. not to mention the staff was rude and unhelpful, you should lose your business license and your certification.

Negative experience: Wish I could give less than one star. Absolutely horrible "care" during an emergency. They also provided subpar care to a friends cat. Do not take your furbabies here!!

Negative experience: I can't say much about the care my dog received at this hospital as he was only in for vacs& nueter. However the rates they are charging are ridiculous . My bad for being too busy to check around for better pricing, and trusting them to be reasonable. Honestly, if you claim your all about" wanting the best for animals" here is a little lesson for you.....when you overcharge pet owners do you not realize that what you are doing effects the well being of all involved, owners and pets. I have several pets and try to do the best for them, keeping them fed, healthy& happy. This clinic should be ashamed of the prices they are charging. I will not be returning to this clinic for anything.....and on another note. I received several phone calls&emails to be absolutely certain that I showed up for my scheduled appointment, however guess what? After spending over $1200 (that's right folks) I did say $1200....not one phone call, text message, or email to say " hey just checking to see how our patient is doing?".... C'mon Fredericton Animal hospital, surely you can do better than this!! Please people, check around, let's use our local private vets if we can, even if it means going for a drive out of town.....I know I will be from now on!!!.....peace and love to all...... ♥️

Fantastic experience: We’ve always received the best of care at FAH. Our dogs loved their visits and had a special relationship with Dr Ali and loved the rest of the staff as well.

Fantastic experience: The staff here went above and beyond when we were dealing with an elderly, loved family cat and our options of end of life care. In particular, Rhonda was so very helpful and compassionate with our many phone calls when trying to decide the right time. Thank you Rhonda!!! She gave us the option of going to Urgent Care if we decided we needed to which we ended up doing (they were also amazing). Thank you to everyone involved at the Fredericton Animal Hospital during this difficult time.

Fantastic experience: I had a very good experience here! My first time doing a dog neuter & I was nervous! They took wonderful care of my Charlie Boy! I was even sent text pictures and updates through out the day on his progress. Medication and recovery was explained very well, I was made feel very comfortable leaving Charlie to their care. Thank you for taking care of my boy!

Negative experience: Fredericton Animal Hospital used to be so great. Never had any issues and people were so nice. This last year though, vets just don't care, receptionists are rude. To top it off our cat got really got sick recently, while were away and they would not take the cat from our cat sitters as they said it was policy to have cat sitters on file, and the current sitters weren't. They refused to help our cat and he died on his way to Saint John. We recently called to get our pet records to move to a better Vet, the receptionist had no remorse, was rude. And we're still waiting for the records. DO NOT bring your animals here!!! Edit: they tried calling me and I didn't answer as I really did not want to speak to these people. My wife did end up calling to get our cats medical records. They gave her such a hard time getting them and made up so many excuses as to why they did not take our cat. But from what my wife told me, they were basically neglectful and did not want to take the cat in. They lied and said our sitters called at closing time. We have time stamps of voicemails saying otherwise. These are horrible people and I really hope nobody takes their animals to these people. I added the last picture we got from our kitties. The closest one was Pugtew. May he rest in peace. FYI - the vet where Pugtew was cremated told these people that Pugtew had died, as it shows in the medical records. And they did not even reach out. Horrible, horrible people.

Fantastic experience: I'm very new to this clinic and love them already. They are so kind and sweet and my doggo loves them!

Negative experience: A while ago, we were cat sitting for really great friends of ours, and one cat got really sick and we found him laying on his face in a pile of green puke. We called and cried on the phone, desperate to try to save him. They told us we can't bring him in for legal reasons, which I understand to an extent I guess. But how could people who's job it is to save animals lives turn away a cat dying We had to drive him all the way to Saint John which is a 2hr drive away and I was performing CPR on him all the way there, I could taste pee in the air and I could feel his body getting colder by the minute. He died in my arms, I was a big mess and I hated that he didn't pass with his parents, he didn't deserve that. I really was considering this hospital for my own two cats but after this happening I won't be taking them there. Such disregard for an innocent animal.

Negative experience: I previously rated this establishment 4 star- this review is not accurate anymore. Edit: I am changing my review to 1-star due to the insistence that animals must be seen once a year even for preexisting conditions. My cat has Asthma (pretty sure it's gonna be there next year) but they insist I bring her in to get an updated prescription for her puffer. This is extremely stressful for the cat, to the point she puked blood for 3 days after taking her in. All so they could weigh her, and do absolutely nothing else while charging me over $100 for the visit. I can weigh my cat thanks. This is the closest to animal abuse I have ever seen from a professional and they should be ashamed of a policy that puts the animals in so much distress. I know other vets do this as well and they all should be rallying against such a decision not endorsing it. The defense that they want to just do the best for our pets is completely insincere and they should be ashamed to adhere to such policies.

Positive experience: I felt that the veterinarian Dr Ali was not comfortable with my dog a german shepherd she was pleasant but I did not ask what I wanted to so made the visit short.

Fantastic experience: I bring my cat to FAH for an annual check up and scheduled vaccinations. The operating hours are very flexible, location and parking is good and the facility is bright, modern and clean. Most importantly the staff are genuinely interested in your pet. Triage involves lots of dialogue as they get a full picture of my cat's regular routines and activity. The veterinarian is thorough and expert in handling my cat and making her as relaxed and comfortable as possible. The staff are excellent. Payment options are flexible. I would definitely recommend this business.

Negative experience: I was a loyal client of the Fredericton Animal Hospital for many years and had no issues until about a year ago when I started bringing in my dog for urinary incontinence. I would have to call them repeatedly to get test results and was continously told I would get a call back but never received any. This unfortunately continued on for several months. I was eventually told that I would have to pay a fee to talk to the veterinarian about the results from the tests. I have noticed the service at Fredericton Animal Hospital has declined over the past few years which is very disappointing as we really appreciated getting to know the team and enjoyed bringing our pets in. I ended up making the decision to take my dog elsewhere shortly after, and was able to get the issue resolved quickly.

Positive experience: I had been bringing my pets to FAH since 2015 and used to praise them very very highly. Over the past few years there has been an increase in price and a decline in service. They no longer offer after hours emergency care and will only send you to SJ or Riverview. I have no complaints about the care, only access. I wouldn’t mind the price increase if the quality was still present. However I have found out that there are in fact vets in fredericton that offer after hours service locally and I have switched for that reason. I’ve done the stressful drive to Saint John twice at night in the dark (one for our puppy and one for our cat) in emergency situations and I can’t imagine how much worse the situation could be. For example some people rely on cabs and public transport. The service is fine but if you don’t have reliable transport I can’t recommend them

Fantastic experience: We were travelling, and our dog needed emergency care. We found this hospital and stopped in but there were no emergency slots left that day. Rather than send us away like another hospital did, this hospital took the time to assess our dog in the car to see if he was stable. He was not, and they took him in anyway. I am beyond thankful for their care of our pet.

Fantastic experience: Actually Steve Eldridge. My wife Nancy has little to do with the kitty. I thought I had accidently broke Miss Kitty's foot and was VERY upset. Took her in Tuesday and Dr. Reed looked at her swollen elbow and made a prudent assessment which basically saved me $800. The reason I switched to Fredericton Animal Hospital years ago was because of a high recommendation of "Dr. Ally" by a friend. I've always been treated fairly by Staff and in this case, compassionately as well. Kitty's improving ... Thanks !

Fantastic experience: I just recently moved to Fredericton and had yet to get a local vet for the cat. My boy fell very ill vomiting blood. They took him in immediately, were so professional and caring and kept me informed every step of the way. I thought I might lose him...but he is home with us now, and getting better.

Negative experience: Very irresponsible and not professional. My cat went there two years ago for congestion. They took many X-ray pictures and they said they need to ask a professional out of their hospital to check the X-ray, so we need to pay extra (why do we customer need to pay for your low-level professional skills?). They said the charges will be around 600 but in the end they did a lots of medicine and treatment such as palliative to my cat who was just suffered from congestion....and it end up with $1200. My cat also got ear mites after spending a night with them.

Fantastic experience: I've taken my pets to many different veterinary clinics all over Canada over the years. Out of all the vets I have been to, Fredericton Animal Hospital is the best by far. Both my cats and dogs have recieved exceptional care. The examinations are thorough and everything is always explained in ways that you can understand. They are patient and will answer every single question you might have. The clinic itself is very clean and modern without looking sterile and uninviting. The staff are amazing. They are friendly, compassionate, and honest. The front desk workers are incredible. If you ever need to call the clinic to ask a question (even if it is a complex question), they will answer to the best of their ability, transfer you to someone who might know more, or do the research and contact you as soon as they can. They also communicate through email quickly and are just as helpful as they would be over the phone. As for the vets, they are all wonderful. They provide the best care and ask their associates if they need a second opinion. You are in good hands no matter which vet you see. The Fredericton Animal Hospital may be more expensive than the other animal hospitals in the area but you get what you pay for. You can't go wrong by taking your fur babies to this establishment.

Negative experience: I called them because i had to take my dog to them after hours 3 years ago because he ate a bunch of grapes I took him and they gave him a needle and immediately he through up all the grapes whole. They hadn’t even digested. They said they needed to keep him there for 3 days for observation. It was clearly a money ploy. Then I called them last night because I was worried my dog had swallowed a piece of his bone. The woman took all my information and then asked which vet I said I don’t know then proceeded to tell me there was no vet there to help him because I was not a client and completely wasted my time. Then they told me the only emergency vets I could go to were in Riverside or Saint John. I said are you serious? Are you sure? She said yes. So I hung up and went to Saint John. An hour away with a dog struggling to breathe. Come to find out today that there are in fact a couple vets in town that will do after hours care. I knew my vet didn’t so I trusted what they said. I’m appalled by their service. Years ago I had a cat that I had taken there that had to stay with them for a week and I would call to check up on him and want to see him and it was a nightmare getting anyone to return my calls to let me know how he was doing. I didn’t want to go there last night when I called but I was desperate. Never again.

Fantastic experience: The most compassionate staff with beautiful souls. We heart-breakingly had to put our beloved family dog to rest on Friday evening, and the vet and staff made the whole experience so dignified and kind. They took so much time to explain everything to us, gave us all the time we needed, and openly shared our pain and love for Sam. I don’t know how these women do this job with such open-hearts but thank goodness they do. ❤️ It made a world of a difference for the hardest day. Thank you.

Fantastic experience: My kitten was neutered here. They took extra special care of him before, during and after surgery. If you like a thorough vet clinic that ensures the health and safety of your pet especially during surgery this is the place for you. An awesome friendly team!

Fantastic experience: Our animal died with unexplained and rapid onset of respiratory distress. The vet granted us with a generous amount of time and compassion and billed fairly which isn't always the case with these unexpected circumstances. She gave us closure in what choices we had and never stopped in trying to find us answers to the cause of his death. I still go to her for our other critters <3 and would recommend this clinic. They give options but don't push or upsell treatments not needed. She wasted no time with getting him comfort measures, which eased his suffering in a timely manner which was greatly appreciated. Also LGBTQ2 friendly (bonus)

Fantastic experience: I love Fredericton Animal Hospital. I've always had a great experience and their guidance is excellent. It's a beautiful clinic and the entire staff are friendly and professional.

Positive experience: I've been with FAH since the first month they opened, and I've recommended them time and time again to people because of how great they were. But. Recently the quality of care has decreased, and cost of said care is over 30% higher than previous visits. I keep invoices for all of my appointments, and when my poor cat lost half of his weight in just over a month and I was frantic for help, they estimated that JUST the exam fee would be $112 plus tax... That's $32 more expensive than the previous exam fee for the same animal. They provided me with a diagnostics estimate for urinalysis, blood work and a stool sample totaling almost $500 after taxes. And that's just to diagnose the problem. If you're wondering if that's a typical cost for those procedures, it's your lucky day. I called around to every vet clinic accepting new patients in the city. Only one had prices even close to those. There is massive inflation at this place and I struggle to understand why, especially when I've been so loyal to them and trusted them with my pet's lives for almost 10 years. Not only that, but they had no openings for at least a month. Anyone who knows about cats knows that they can die of starvation very quickly when they lose weight. If I'd waited, my cat (who was diagnosed with diabetes at another clinic, within a week, with an exam fee the same cost of my first FAH exam) would likely be dead. Veterinary clinics will often be judgemental of how often a person can bring their pet in for annual appointments and vaccinations, but when the cost for a visit rises exponentially while the cost of living plummets, we are forced to watch our animals suffer without regular care as a result. If the quality of the care my pets recieved on the off time I could afford a visit was above and beyond that offered at any other clinic, perhaps they could justify their increase in cost. That isn't the case. They seemed to care less and less every time I called or had to bring my pets in, so it's time for this 10 year long relationship to come to an end.

Negative experience: This veteran Hospital very over priced was gonna charge me $454.00 for not having a apointment and plus all the other fees. I have been bringing my Yorkies there for 7 years now . But that has come to a end I hear all great reviews about the Linkin Animal Hospital thats where I will be bring my dogs now.

Fantastic experience: We’ve been to several vets between NS and Ontario. Some are good, some not so good. I was absolutely impressed with this vet. They were more than friendly, Dr Brister sat on the floor with my 180lbs dog while she examined him, and she had an assistant taking notes while she talked to me about my concerns and his needs. Prices were average and the receipt had a bonus at the bottom: all the notes and tidbits we talked about during our visit… I’ve never seen that! Super helpful and friendly vet clinic. Easy to recommend.

For more than five years now, our dog has been cared for by many others at FAH in addition to Dr. Ali, and we've appreciated the consistent level of care, concern, and compassion from all staff--those working on the frontlines and behind-the-scene. We value having a relationship with our dog's vet, and we feel that we are known by the whole FAH team. They are a group of kind, knowledgeable, and skilled professionals who care about your pet's health and quality of life.

Fantastic experience: Had an emergency with my cat and they got her in that day and were so sweet and caring with her. They really took care of her and put my mind at ease. Great place, great staff.

Fantastic experience: the vet and the tech were so nice, they took the time to know my dog and play with him before doing any needles. Very open to how we raise him and even suggested agility courses to maintain his flexibility and maximize his potential as a Labrador cross Aussie Shepherd.

Fantastic experience: I have 2 dogs. When you arrive at Fredericton Animal Hospital with your pet they put you in a private room right away. I love this! You don't have to worry about an awkward or scary interaction with other animals. Very professional and caring!

Fantastic experience: I wouldn’t take my animals anywhere else! They always respond to my questions quickly. They helped walk us through the decision to put our 20 year old kitty cat to sleep, and are now supporting us with a heartworm positive rescue dog. I agree they’re a little more on the pricier side but I’m willing to pay the extra for the care and knowledge they have shown. Knowing they are AAHA accredited provides me with peace of mind.

Fantastic experience: My girl needed an emergency amputation, Fredericton veterinary hospital was extremely supportive during our terrifying ordeal and reassured us the whole way though. They done a beautiful bjob of the amputation and charged us less then other quotes we had recieved. This will definately be my regular vet for my fur babies.

Fantastic experience: Our puppy had an incident with a porcupine the other night. She had quills stuck all through her mouth and Fredericton Animal Hospital was so accommodating even though it was after hours. They rushed her in immediately and took care of everything. Negative experience: No compassion only $$$. I’m from out of town and my tomcat was in distress from a urethra blockage. They had no interest in emergency situations but would book an appointment for next week! Who, with a loved pet, would love with that. You are off my list.

Negative experience: This is the Second Review I have written on this place. The first review was very bad, I found the the particular Vet I had was very afraid to touch my little dogs. It looked like a magic show, he was just waving his hands over my dog….I ended up taking that review down as I was contacted by the manager and after a short conversation i decided to give them a second chance……I wish I hadn’t. This Office is the definition of greed, their prices are double or more of other vets in the city, I’ve called several since my last visit. I said it in my last review, “If you like watching hands touch your dog for 5 min and paying hundreds of dollars for it, then this is the place for you” price for blood work: 295$ not including tax price for X-ray: 372$!! also not including tax those prices don’t even include the exam….it is ridiculous Hope this helps people make an informed decision Will not be returning

Positive experience: Clean, friendly, knowledgeable and is gentle with my cat. I only give it a 4 as I find the vet expensive.

Fantastic experience: I have nothing but good feelings for Fredericton Animal Hospital. They have seen us through new adoptions, chronic ear infections, surgeries for the adoptees, and the loss of beloved furry family members. They even came to our home so we could say goodbye to our almost 17 year old lab so she was happy and comfortable in her last moments. The staff is equally professional and empathetic and you can tell they all love the animals in their care. Special shout out to Kate. You are amazing and appreciated.

Fantastic experience: Great service. Everyone was very kind and caring with my cats.

Negative experience: Today we had our 1.5 year old cat spayed. We had a poor experience taking an old roommate and animal abuser off of our account, we were told that she could have on her collar and harness that ends high on her chest but they were taken off, had trouble with setting up her microchip because they didn't take said ex roommate off, as they were the main contact on the account at the time the account was opened, and they induced a panic attack by shoving my cat in a carrier when they were told that she is terrified of them. This is the first bad experience we had there but if this type of service happens again we will not continue service there.

Fantastic experience: We found Fredericton Animal Hospital and their AMAZING staff at a very stressful and sorrow filled time. Dr. Grant and all of the staff epitomize what one can only hope their fur babies Veterinarian and co workers are. Kind, caring, compassionate, and truthful. It was very hard to hear and understand that our love bug had cancer that had taken over to the point that he would not survive surgery. Especialy since the furball had hidden it so well we thought he was just not feeling well and would be fine. But tests taken very shortly after we arrived and follow up other tests proved otherwise. They were all so caring and understanding of our shock and grief. I held him to the end. I will never forget their kindness. BTW contrary to what I read in a comment elsewhere their fees are very reasonable. Their compassion priceless.

Fantastic experience: Always make time to help and address our concerns. We have 3 Labs. They always able to fit us in especially when it's urgent. We appreciate all that you do!

Fantastic experience: I cannot say enough good things about FAH. The vets and techs are absolutely amazing. They have saved 2 of our furbabies in recent years. Our dog Boo in 2019. We were told by our old vet there was nothing more he could do. So we got a 2nd opinion. Turns out the vet just wasn't giving him long enough treatments. He has demodectic mange and food allergies. 2 years later he is thriving. This past week our furbaby/demon child :) Jerry ingested some carpet fibres that just wouldn't pass on their own. Dr. Reid and her team were so amazing with him. They got him in quickly and after some tests, x-rays, fluids,meds, and surgery he is now home where he belongs being loved and spoiled. We have 3 cats and 2 dogs, I would never think about going to another vet. The team at FAH is the most caring and amazing team. They treat each pet like their own. Thank you so much to all of the team at FAH Tasha Finnamore. :)
