Fantastic experience: One of the most kind and considerate clinics I've ever been to. Every vet there is a strong recommendation. They go above and beyond to make sure I understand what is going on and genuinely care about my dogs wellbeing.

Negative experience: After being a loyal client for over 25 years, the new management/owner does a poor job of operating this vet clinic. I will be looking for a new vet with better business practices moving forward.

Fantastic experience: Super careing and super quick my cat was in and out with minimal stress. Able to answer all my questions and even gave me some tips on long term care I wouldn't have thought to ask. 4 years later and 3 more cats cumberland vet still impresses me time after time staff is beyond compassionate aswell as accommodating to emergencies.

Negative experience: I have been taking my pets here for almost 4 years. I mistakenly thought my appointment was at 2:30, but it was scheduled for 2:00. I received a phone call at 2:10 indicating that the vet would not allow me to arrive at the appointment late, and I would have to reschedule instead. I understand that the clinic is busy and there is a schedule to keep, but not being able to accommodate a long standing client who has literally spent thousands of dollars in veterinary fees, providing care for their pets is disappointing. It was an honest mistake, and the only time I’ve not arrived for an appointment at the correct time. I will gladly take my business elsewhere, and recommend to anyone else that there are better veterinary clinics to take their beloved pets, who are willing to accommodate and provide a positive experience.

My dog had a horrible vet experience when she was young, leaving her very fearful. Cumberland and Dr. Steve went above and beyond to ensure she was see with comfort and minimal stress. Negative experience: THEY KILLED MY CAT and severely injured a dog. It’s taken me a very long time to write this review but they deserve it and it is very important knowledge for the safety of your pets. I would appreciate no comment from this business on my review or request to remove it. I am not going to use names and this is not slander. This is a review of an actual experience and what happened when trusting my pet in their care at this veterinary clinic. I’m sure the impact of this review is in no comparison to what my pet and I had to go through. My cat had dental surgery here, after her pain meds wore off, I had to take her to emergency and was devastated to find that she had a 3rd degree burn on the entire one side of her body. She was a long haired cat and you couldn’t see her skin under her fur, until it all started falling out to reveal the burn. This was the result of a malfunctioned heating pad used to keep pets warm when they are put under. She required constant medical attention and treatment for her burn which was very costly. I had to take unpaid time off of work to care for her. During this time, I was put in touch with a family whose dog was also a patient there and one week prior to my cats dental surgery, had undergone the same surgery and was severely burned by the malfunctioned heating pad. This dogs burn was so bad that it had split open and muscle mass had spilled out of its side and required a very large amount of stitches. Luckily because of the short fur of the dog breed, they were able to catch the burn in time for the dogs survival. They were told the dog was probably having a reaction to rubbing alcohol and were given a small credit to use in the clinic only and the actual cause of the burn was never investigated further. It turned out that it was indeed the same heating pad they used for my cat. They tried to move my cats follow up appointment to a later date and when I came there to show them what they had done to my cat and asked them if this had ever happened before, they said no. I brought up that I was in touch with the dogs owners and their lawyer and only then they admitted it had, but not to that particular vet. Unfortunately with my cat being a lot smaller than the dog, she died a very slow and painful death that she didn’t deserve. I let them know I would expect a refund for the dental surgery as it resulted in death and to be covered for all the additional medical costs and unpaid time off of work. They did agree to that. That however, took months and months of of phone tag, avoiding me, the manager being in “ a meeting” every time I called, me having to show up at the clinic unannounced to get them to talk to me. I wasn’t being treated very well and at one point was told they didn’t like my attitude. I trusted them and lost my pet which was a family member to me. I was heartbroken and wanted to move on from it and heal. Avoiding me and extending that process would make anyone upset. I was eventually handed over to deal with their insurance company who dragged it on trying to reimburse me as little as possible. It was exhausting. I had a lot of support from people contacting me privately to share some pretty awful experiences that they also had to go through at this clinic. I’m not saying don’t take your pets there, you can do what you want. Just be cautious and If there’s a way to make sure that they are testing their equipment properly before every single procedure, then they should do so. Take care out there with your pets, they don’t have a voice except for yours

Negative experience: Dogs are often left in distress for long periods of time. 1-4 hours of crying for attention, due to staffing issues. Vet doesn’t care; dismisses their cries and emotional wellbeing. Have spoken to her personally out of concern and she yelled at me defensively, claiming there’s so many sick animals that it’s appropriate to provide insufficient care while charging full price and letting the owners be none the wiser. For comparison, there was another vet there for 9 years. Never heard any dogs upset. This one moves in and it’s a daily occurrence.

Fantastic experience: My experience at Cumberland Vet Clinic was exceptional. The entire staff are incredibly kind, compassionate and understanding. Dr.Davis took the time to explain all my options and made sure I was confident with my decisions. Thank you for taking such good care of my best friend Crimson during her last days.

Fantastic experience: The staff at Cumberland Vet Clinic are incredibly compassionate and professional. Specifically, they assisted us recently with an unexpected acute incident with our senior family dog. The team were able to graciously assist us with our emergent situation, helping us with considering our options. Although we had to say goodbye to our furry family member that day, we felt completely supported in all respects. Despite fitting us in, the front desk staff, the technicians, and Dr. Novakowski were all incredible. A comfortable space was provided for the process and we felt comfortable taking our time to say goodbye to our dog. We have attended the clinic for years with the dogs in our family and will continue to do so with future pets, as well as recommend this clinic to others.

Negative experience: Old vet tech says “if you can’t afford to spay an animal- you should have never gotten one in the first place.” After handing us a $900 bill for spaying a cat. This is the same price as putting a horse under for surgery. These vets reflect the reason we have so many starving animals on the street. Spent over $1200 in testing my cats blood and they would not do an allergy test. They were enjoying that $200 every three weeks. For testing blood. Found a new vet clinic that will offer even more than your spaying package for $500. They claim to do price matching for their less wealthy users, but then the manager will come out and say they don’t actually do that. I’m in the middle of a report and talks with the VMA in Saskatchewan about the vets at this place. I haven’t even gotten into the cruelties and straight up lies they told me trying to get me to pay that $900. The one secretary was so nice though. Guessing when you live off secretary pay cheques you may have a bit more empathy.

Fantastic experience: Friendly staff's and good Dr's. I was surprised with the follow-up call I received on my pet health status. Highly recommended.

Fantastic experience: Super easy to call and make an appointment. Staff were kind and extremely helpful, excited to continue my pets healthcare with them.

Negative experience: 100% mark up. I've been using Duoxo-calm shampoo for my dogs for years. At other veterinary offices, it is sold for around ~35 dollars. It is a non-prescription product hence have been able to get it even without being a client at those other veterinary offices. I was a client at cumberland at the time and I was charged over 50 dollars for the same amount of product. I called to inquire about the price as I thought it may have been a dispensing fee which is not appropriate to charge as it is scheduled as non-prescription. However, I was told the higher price was not due to the dispensing fee but due to there being 100% markup. No complaints with veterinarians as they have always been kind, but this 100% markup does not make sense when 4 other veterinary offices in saskatoon do not have this same mark up. I ended up switching to another veterinary office due to the ridiculous pricing

Fantastic experience: Amazing service. Kind and compassionate staff. I called them on a Saturday because my dog broke a nail and my regular vet was unable to see her. Even though we had never been there before, they made time for us immediately (I was literally in and out in less than 10 mins). Very impressed, will absolutely be back.

Fantastic experience: We have taken our dogs to Cumberland Veterinary Clininc for a numbber of years. Both of them needed fairly drastic treatment at one time or another. Ultimately, at the end of their lives they were both euthanised at the clinic. We always found the staff to be knowledgable and extremely compassionate. It is a busy place but they will always respond to your pet's needs. Highly recommended.

Fantastic experience: Honestly if it wasn’t for Cumberland vet clinic I don’t know if I would have emotionally handled the loss of my kitten. Even though I had to go to the emergency u of s vet clinic as it was after hours, the reception team and veterinarians at Cumberland answered all my questions and followed up with me. They eased my anxious mind, called me to follow up with how I was doing and how my other cat was and fit my other cat in for a last minute appointment. They listened to my worried rambling and answered every question no matter how anxious I got.

It's saved me so much money. The clinic is very busy but the staff fix any mistakes immediately. And they're all super humble and compassionate!

The wonderful staff made my boy Duke and I’s experience one I won’t forget! They were so kind, gentle, and interactive with Duke, while also asking me all the questions to make sure Duke was in a healthy environment at home and was developing properly! Duke definitely wasn’t complaining about all the treats they were giving him! I was so nervous about how he would react to getting his shots and they did so well he didn’t even realize what was happening! I highly highly recommend this vet hospital for any pet parent! They also offer an optimum care plan with amazing savings! They are definitely a budget friendly establishment!

Negative experience: I used to deal with Cumberland up till last weekend when i took my dog there for her shots and have a check up. I told the lady multiple thing's i was noticing with my dog and one was her straining to poop and scootching afterwards, also vomiting clear mucus periodically. I was told it could be allergies and told her bum looked red when I expected the vet to check her anal glands. Days later i found a new vet to take my dog to where she received the medical attention she needed and had blood work done right there. Stay away from cumberland if all you want is a run around and gave your wallet emptied

Fantastic experience: Never heard back after trying to schedule an appointment in person. I was told that I would be notified "after they found my file" but I'm still waiting for this call. It looks like this transition to Cumberland might not be going so well and we may have to look at getting our dogs looked after elsewhere. Follow up: Recently took our pup here again for some stitches and it proved a great experience. The vet gave very helpful information and treated our little girl with all the love and expertise that we would expect. 3 stars upgraded to 5!

Fantastic experience: I have an extremely nervous dog who hates going through doorways and so many other things that involve busy areas. Every single staff member is super patient with my dog and me. I have never felt rushed. The vet staff have let me stay with him when he is nervous. The staff are super friendly and understanding of every single type of dog and their habits. They also work with him to make sure we don't set back the progress we have made getting him into the clinic and even suggest helpful ideas. The staff have also suggested taking time out of their own busy schedules for me to come in and do visits with my dog to get him acquainted with the vets office. Fantastic experience: Thorough, friendly and professional. Our dog had been in a car accident and they got us in with in a few hours. Although his injuries were minor, they didn’t make us feel crazy for being so over the top worried. Seems like a good working atmosphere too.

Negative experience: the type of people who work here are conflictive, they get involved in conflicts and take external matters without knowing the people in a very personal way… how can our animals receive good treatment from people like that? I was insulted by a worker at this place for no reason and I realize she calls herself a vet

Dr. Davis is a pro, very kind and I felt my dog was in great hands! Thank you Cumberland for seeing us on such short notice, but I now have one very happy dog!

Negative experience: If it wasn't for these "vets" my kitty would've died. I'll never take my cats back here. Nor will I ever refer them to anyone. Take your animals to Erindale Pet hospital. They actually care about your animals and they keep in touch with u regardless of how busy they are. Cumberland vet kept telling me they couldn't do anything for my kitty, I updated them with pictures of his wound getting worse every day and still they said they couldn't do anything. As soon as I went to the pet hospital they cleaned up my kitties wound and changed his antibiotics. Now he's almost all better. Always get a second opinion when it comes to your pets.

Fantastic experience: They did a great job diagnosing and extracting 4 re-absorbing teeth in my cat. The price was reasonable, and my girl came home from anesthesia in great shape. In three days she was chasing her brother around the house again.

Fantastic experience: My daughter's spoiled Frenchie GEORGE had been a Cumberland Vet baby since 2018 on their previous location. STAFF and VET MDs are very accomodating and very patient with our George who's a cry- baby, always anxious and fiesty, specially when his nails were trimmed months ago, w/ Dr.Cara Page and 4 of her lovely staff! She did a wellness assessment yesterday- and to our big surprise- our little GEORGE was so behaved, just a little whiny,but manageable. Their receptionist Cassidy and Dailey were so efficient in sending George's med history records to PetSecure as soon as I requested them. Done right away! VERY GOOD SERVICE. VERY NICE WITH PETS. CUMBERLAND VET is the right place for our little GEORGE bratz!

Fantastic experience: Best vet experience ever. My dog is an American Bully and I've had my vets discriminate. However Cumberland vet has never discrimated against my dogs breed and gives him the most amazing care.

Negative experience: If I could give minus stars, I would. worst care anywhere. Whenever I would call, for anything, I would be on hold for a minimum 10 minutes. Mostly longer. Since the new owners took over from Teresa, the service went down the toilet. The last vet used to keep my food in stock, because she was the one that recommended it, and my cat was on it for YEARS. Since Cumberland took over this location, I’ve just had horrible experience after horrible experience. The last straw came when I phoned last month to order a bag of food (May 18th), I was told that it would be ‘bit of a wait, max one week’. When I called two weeks later to find out if my order was in, I was told it wasn’t. It isn’t something you can buy off the shelf in a pet store. Rather than letting my cat starve, I had to frantically call around the city to find something my cat would eat. It is now 15 June, and I never did get a phone call. I transferred my cats’ file today. Had I waited for the food order I was promised, my cat would be dead by now. I seriously recommend NOT bringing your animals here. They do not care, even though I have been a loyal customer since 2013. I got a ‘thanks for letting us know’ email when I said I was going elsewhere. I’ve NEVER had such horrible customer service.

I was extremely anxious about finding a new clinic after having a bad experience at the clinic I use to take my cats to. I am so very happy I decided on Cumberland Vet Clinic. Fantastic experience: I cannot say enough good things about the staff at Cumberland Vet Clinic. They were my vet clinic for almost 16 and my dog, Blizzard received the best care imaginable. Through all the 16 years, the staff have been available, caring and professional with all the ups and downs of looking after an older dog. Blizzard is no longer with us but the professional medical advice and caring staff who helped us say good bye to our puppy has not gone unnoticed. Dr. Terry and the staff are competent, compassionate and knowledgable about animals, their food, their vaccines, their teeth cleaning ,their surgeries. Now that Blizzard is gone, I miss Dr. Terry and the caring staff who were so supportive at the end of Blizzards' life.

Fantastic experience: A very caring and professional team. I would and do recommend them. Just an update, my poor cat Gracie passed away and received absolutely the most compassionate treatment by staff. Sensitive and extremely helpful. The paw print impression was such a sweet keepsake. If I could have added stars to the review I would have.

Negative experience: Very disappointed in today's visit. Took my dog for her Bordetella vaccine, and she ended up receiving the wrong vaccination. They gave her parvo vaccines, which were still current by the way, and didn't even give her Bordetella vaccine. When I realized their error, I returned at which time they finally gave her the correct vaccination, and charged me full price and no apology.

Fantastic experience: I was able to get in quickly. The vet and vet tech were calm and kind with my anxious dog. The front desk was polite and helpful. There’s even two exits at the front of the clinic, so I was able to guide my anxious pup out and avoid other clients. I will recommend them to others.

Fantastic experience: I brought my cat KitKat in for a yearly check-up and updated vaccines, etc. I was extremely impressed with their patience with a suddenly not-so-friendly cat when it came to nail clipping! I never felt rushed during the visit and had lots of time to ask questions and had them answered in clear language and reassurance that I was doing things right as a first time pet owner. All of the staff were very caring and attentive to both myself and KitKat.

Fantastic experience: Good quality is an understatement. Every single employee, technician and my pups vet are out of this world amazing. My dogs have suffered ptsd and have extreme anxiety and never once have I felt not welcome, or any annoyance or rushed out the door. The care and patience is beyond beautiful. Recently we lost one of our dogs and not only did they offer support and reassurance to me but covered my other dog with so much love and gentleness. This team possesses the true essence of pet care.

Not only did she and Reana, her Assistant, show compassion to our furbaby, but they took time and we were well informed and not rushed! Their clinic called today to see how Hebrik is doing! That's going above and beyond. Definitely, a positive experience! We have transferred our pups records to this caring Vet Clinic!

Fantastic experience: We have a long history with this clinic. All the vets are really good. They take excellent care of our present dog and were similarly kind to our old one. They give good advice and help with decisions. The young women who assist in the clinic are also lovely - they obviously like our pets. They remember their names and are loving towards them.
