From Milo's veterinarian and the technicians to the front office team, everyone was warm, patient, and incredibly understanding of his separation anxiety. The difference between an independent clinic and a corporate-owned chain was evident from the moment we walked through the door. The care felt personal, thoughtful, and truly centered on Milo's wellbeing. We are thrilled with our decision to trust the clinic with Milo's care. At no point did I feel pressured into unnecessary treatments. Instead, I was provided with balanced, transparent information that allowed me to make informed decisions with confidence.

Negative experience: On January 15, 2026, I visited this clinic to prepare documents for travel to the EU. I truly hoped I was dealing with professionals. Spoiler: I was not. One required document was not completed, which caused serious issues for me at CFIA. As a result of the clinic’s mistake, I had to spend significantly more time and money than I had originally planned. While I was at the CFIA office, I called the clinic, and CFIA representatives witnessed that the clinic had failed to do their job properly. That same day, I sent the clinic a detailed email explaining the situation and requested compensation. I received neither an apology nor any compensation. Therefore, I strongly urge everyone to be cautious and avoid this clinic. They clearly do not value their clients: they took the money, did a poor job, and then disappeared. I am extremely disappointed and do not recommend contacting them.

Fantastic experience: We love taking our dogs to Yonge and St. Clair Veterinary Hospital. We have been seeing Dr. Gelman for almost 10 years, and he consistently provides excellent care. We trust him completely with our pets. Dr. Gelman performed an emergency surgery on one of our dogs at the clinic, and saved her life. Thanks to his quick action and expertise, she is still with us 7 years later. The hospital responds quickly, has a great, well-equipped facility, and the entire team is always so friendly, caring, and helpful. We have always had positive experiences and highly recommend Yonge and St. Clair Veterinary Hospital!

Fantastic experience: Great vet hospital, always very thorough with checkups and giving information about my dogs healthcare. My dog is a rescue and the vets and staff are very sensitive to things that cause him stress. Everyone is always patient when he is nervous and that makes a big difference in getting him well cared for and keeping him healthy. Highly recommend to anyone in the area.

Negative experience: Not sure what has happened here. I have been going here for six years. My last appointment I found the room dirty, and the vet brought my cats vaccines in before even going over options seeing as hes older. They pushed food on me that was incorrect and a dental appointment that would be 4K with the assumption he needed extractions.... so I spoke to many people who advised taking my cat to a dental hygienist first. Guess what his teeth are perfect, the fee was 200$ and he doesnt need ONE extraction. To say the least I will be changing vets. I have reached out to the clinic twice with zero response to this matter. Be very careful with what they advise and what vaccines they push. This is now obviously a vet that prioritizes billing and not the wellbeing of your animals.

Fantastic experience: Two weeks ago I awoke to our cat having a seizure on a Saturday morning. Trying to get an appointment on a weekend is almost impossible. On *this morning, we were met with some of the kindest people to live in Toronto. The pain of having to put our precious cat to sleep was mitigated by the gentle, calm, informative and patient manner of both Roxy the vet tech and Dr. Posluns. They accommodated us (despite our not being current clients) in a comfortable and homey room. On a day where everything was going wrong, at least being here made us know it’s where we were supposed to be. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Jonathon & Esther~

Fantastic experience: We couldn't be happier with the incredible care we receive at Yonge & St Clair Vet - the experience is always such a positive one, most notably for our dog who bursts through the door with excitement each time. We've always felt each of the vets - we see Dr. Posluns, Dr. Gelman, and Dr. Mason - take considerable time to explain things to us, and carefully outline a plan and options with clear next steps. They are clear experts, and never rush through an appointment - giving loads of attention and care to our dog throughout! We're also so impressed by the vet techs and assistants - from larger treatments to the small questions we email about, they consistently provide incredible follow-up care and check-ins on our dog, and show such genuine joy and care. Everybody here goes above and beyond - we couldn't recommend it more!

Fantastic experience: When Fizz first came to Young & Sinclair Veterinary Hospital, he was extremely anxious due to past trauma and absolutely terrified of vet visits. Thanks to the kindness, patience, and genuine care of the entire team, he has made incredible progress and is now almost free of that anxiety — something we never imagined possible. The assistants are consistently friendly, helpful, and remarkably thorough with follow-ups. You truly feel supported every step of the way. Dr. Mason is outstanding — always on top of things, quick to follow up by phone or email, and never hesitant to provide detailed, thoughtful instructions when needed. I was impressed by the amount of time the vet took with us, not rushed through like other clinics, and I loved that they let my cats stay in a private room to avoid contact with dogs. There is clear care and thoughtfulness here, which is refreshing to see! It’s not cheap, but is comparable to other vets I called. I feel they are worth the cost.

Fantastic experience: One Saturday morning this past summer, my dog must have found a wasp nest buried in the dirt when he wandered into the bushes. I had no idea this had happened until we got home and he broke out in welts from the numerous bites he had received. He was in some distress! I immediately loaded him into the car and brought him to our regular vet - only to find out there was no vet on duty on the weekend. I went down the street to another vet clinic, and found the same thing - no Saturday vet. I was getting desperate and googled local veterinarian clinics and found Yonge St Clair veterinarian. After a quick discussion on the phone, they understood it was a serious situation I was dealing with, and even though my dog wasn't a "patient", and they weren't an emergency clinic, they told me to come by anyway and they would help me. Long story short, they took us in right away and provided the needed medication to help calm my dog's reaction to the many wasp stings he received. They gave us instant relief, and quite possibly saved my dog's life! I'm forever grateful to this place and it's staff, and I can't recommend them enough.

Fantastic experience: Amazing treatment of a rather sick dog of ours. A good deal of time spent at reception and in the room with her veterinarian and support. Maisie was not doing well at all but now seems to slowly get better. In addition to the amazing people working there, the vet’s office is unique! Not a scratch, chip nor dirt anywhere. And everyone is absolutely wonderful to work with!!

The team at the clinic is exceptionally friendly and genuinely cares for my dog. I’ve always been able to secure an appointment within a day or two when needed, which is incredibly convenient. Fantastic experience: I've brought 3 dogs and now my cat to see Dr. Gelman for over 10 years now, in good health and bad. Tried another vet but came back even though the location is less convenient for me. They are also one of the few independently owned veterinarians left in the city, so the service-to-price ratio is hard to beat.

Fantastic experience: I've been seeing Dr. Gelman for almost 10 years now and just saw him today for a check up for my dog Riley. Dr. Gelman is incredibly kind, patient, thorough, knowledgeable and, as my dog is now aging and his health becomes more concerning to me, I won't put my trust in anybody else's hands but Dr. Gelman. I switched from another very good vet just to come to him. He started seeing my dog (when he was an 8 week old puppy)! The office staff and attendants are incredibly warm and friendly. I'm so happy to see this clinic thriving.

Negative experience: Our dog had a peritectal fistula and was prescribed some meds here (ketoconazole, atopica). As he was having negative secondary effects, I asked Dr. Gelman several times if a prescribed food, a raw food or even handmade recipe could improve this. The answer was always negative, so I trusted the Dr and we continued with the pills. Months later I decided to change to Yorkville clinic and on the first visit they changed his food (hills w/d) and the problem was solved within 2 days. He has been totally fine since then and hasn’t had fistulas ever again, but still carries side effects (swollen gums) derived from the medication, that have nothing to do with the initial condition.

The staff are warm and welcoming and the environment is much calmer than other vet's offices I've visited over the years. The vets and vet techs take their time with you and I've always felt like I could take the time we need. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: I had been taking my dog (Ted) to another vet for a few years. I wasn't satisfied, but assumed that most vets were just as expensive and just as opaque in terms of their diagnostics and treatment plans. I was referred here by a friend, and I am so happy and relieved after the experience. Fantastic experience: I brought my dog Joy here for the first time and was completely blown away by how amazing this place is. The prices are reasonable and it’s so clear that everyone genuinely loves animals and cares deeply about your pet. Dr. Gunn is absolutely fantastic, kind, professional, and she talks to you like a real person, which is rare these days. Sarafina was also incredible and the vet techs/receptionists (I believe their names are Sabrina and Tamara) were just as amazing, warm, knowledgeable, and welcoming. They even expressed Joy’s anal glands (which were overflowing, yikes ) and handled it like absolute pros. I was both horrified and impressed, mostly impressed! I’d been putting off finding a new vet because I thought it would be a hassle, but I wish I came here sooner. They made the whole process so easy and stress-free. If you’re looking for a new vet, seriously, give them a call. You and your pet will be in great hands!

Fantastic experience: Dr Gelman is a seasoned and experienced professional and made himself available in an emergency situation with my pet dog. We are very grateful for his compassion and genuine interest. The office location is convenient by subway, streetcar and car with loads of parking. Great staff too! Negative experience: I had a terrible experience with the receptionist here. I called in to inquire about booking my pet in for an exam as he has been vomiting. I was asked to hold for a long time when the call first connected (which is fine), but the receptionist was dismissive & impatient of my questions and despite me telling her that my cat has been vomiting early on in the call, when I was asking about the price of the treatment, not only was she unable to give an estimate of the cost, she asked again whether I have a cat or dog, and what the condition is. I responded by saying that I have already provided all these information earlier in a friendly tone and she accused me of “my tone” - I guess she doesn’t like being questioned. Deeply arrogant as she was the one who showed no interest in answering my questions and clearly didn’t take the time to listen to what I said! I cannot comment on the vets here, but I wouldn’t want my baby to be treated here when even the receptionist does not listen - Please show respect. Edit: I read your good reviews and decided to call in to inquire about my pet’s treatment, then I was given this attitude. I am only sharing my personal factual experience, I’m not sure which part you disagree with. Maybe the receptionist was having a bad day, but I don’t appreciate being treated as such and threatened to hang up the phone when my tone was fine. A receptionist represents the clinic to new customers and should at least be attentive to what the customer says. You are right that respect is mutual, but please show some respect first. And I have found a hospital that is much more welcoming than this one. Again, cannot comments on the vets here - this is just for the receptionist.

The staff takes the time to discuss and explain what is going on with my dog and are very gentle and loving with him. Everyone has been so friendly
