Negative experience: I would give zero stars if I could. I don't believe the "vet" we talked to was a real vet. My dog has a terrible skin issue. The vetster vet said its probably a bacterial infection and that the antifungal shampoo i was using was probably irritating it. Then she "prescribed" some shampoo and said it should clear up in a couple of days. I asked if we could get a round of antibiotics and she told me she's not allowed to prescribe any drugs. The vetster website clearly states they can prescribe. Anyway my dog got insanely worse in the 2 weeks the vetster vet said we "should see significant improvement" so I took him in to his real vet and they immediately gave him a shot of penicillin, prescribed antibiotics and ran blood tests. Turns out he has hypothyroidism. The vetster vet never even mentioned the possibility. If she had, I would have taken him in right away. My real vet said any "veterinarian" should have suggested blood work because just looking at him they can tell he has hypothyroidism. Also.... the shampoo that the vetster vet prescribed was waaaaaay jacked up in price!! They tried to charge me $56 for a small bottle. I found the same exact shampoo online for $40 for a bottle 3 times the size. I asked my vet and he says they charge $35 for the small bottle that was "prescribed" by vetster I think this website is a money grab . They prey on people who are worried about their fur babies. Also I received a foreign transaction fee from my credit card so who knows where they are even located!

Negative experience: DO NOT USE IN SASKATCHEWAN… They take your money, then when the vet calls they inform you they can’t legally offer any advice or right prescriptions in Saskatchewan. Nowhere was this said in the app but when we asked for a refund they said oh you should have known… The vet was friendly and polite and even said they called the management company to tell them she can’t help us. They told her to go ahead with the call anyway. Feel conned out of money at a time when our dog is ill and desperately in need of prescription medicine. Money is short hence why we tried to use an online service. Thanks to this corrupt company we now have even less Please don’t use in Saskatchewan save yourselves
While this may change in the future, current regulations in Saskatchewan prevent veterinarians from prescribing using telemedicine alone unless a VCPR (veterinarian-client-patient relationship) has already been established. Negative experience: It’s not any more convenient than going to your local vet. Their customer service is terrible and takes so long to get a response. Spent a good hour chatting to get a prescription corrected. Would’ve been faster to go to my local vet.

Fantastic experience: I had an amazing experience using Vetster for my rabbit. Dr. Christin Dean was very knowledgeable and able to prescribe antibiotics for his respiratory infection. The platform was easy to use, and I was notified every step of the process. All vet care should be this quick, stress free and affordable.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely genius! So convenient being able to meet with a wide variety of available qualified and knowledgeable vets in various departments at all hours of the day and night. It is affordable and having 4 visits for the price of 1 is fantastic! Being able to give history, pictures and show the animal on the video call is convenient! All the vets I have dealt with have been professional, helpful, knowledgeable, respectful, polite, friendly and attentive. They all took the time to listen to my concerns and did everything they could to help rectify the issues.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Vikas Godara took the time to explain everything that might be affecting my cat and what I can do to help reduce his symptoms. He gave me a clear, detailed plan and prescribed a few medications that I feel confident will help. Negative experience: The convenience was great but treatment was wrong. Called to get prescription for tapeworms for my dog and was prescribed medication that didn’t treat tapeworms. Had to go to a second vet and they confirmed that medication prescribed was wrong.

Negative experience: I had a scheduled appointment with Dr. Anvita Bawa She appeared for the appointment in a car - she did not have video signal for this scheduled appointment so she called me on the phone and our “visit” lasted 2 minutes she did not ever visualize Zoey, just a profile picture I had uploaded. - I have the record on my phone that the call was 2 minutes. She also told me that my 8 pound cat was in the same weight class for revolution as my 11.5 pound cat. Thankfully Costco had already told me otherwise. When I communicated this information to her, she looked it up and found they are NOT in the same class. I do not have money to throw away, but that is exactly what I did purchasing a membership. Update: customer service was responsive and they did refund my membership fee. I hope the experience depends on the doctor you get, though I will not ever trust this service or use it again. I also do not trust all of the positive reviews. I am not sure where the negative ones are but there must be some I cannot find.

Negative experience: Terrible they charged me 160.00 for a 3 minute call to get my dogs allergy pills that she gets every month then they said they would be here in 2 days it took a week they used ground service. I would of got them filled here but they promised. So i had to take her to emergency because she was having trouble breathing that cost me 900.00. They are not refunding me so i had to hire a lawyer now. REDICULOUS. My poor dog suffered so much. They are scammers

Fantastic experience: Amazing First Experience! I just had my first virtual appointment on Vetster and it was fantastic! The process was quick, efficient, and the vet was incredibly kind and knowledgeable. Everything went so smoothly — I was able to get the help I needed for my pet without leaving home. Negative experience: F grade! I had an appointment for my cat and the Vet canceled the appointment. I was still charged $117.00 and have been patiently waiting for a refund but my request continues to fall on deaf ears. I got charged for no service! Buyer Beware!

Negative experience: Their app hides 1 star reviews from the actual reviews list. Had a horrible rushed vet visit that was unnattentive. Left a review that was not posted because it was 1 star. Dr Passi in BC told us we were "too stressful" I have aspergers so I apologize and then ended call and said do through messages. Didn't reply to mesaages and we still got charged the visit Came here to leave review so it wouldn't get hidden

Fantastic experience: Best decision I made was joining Vetser! Dr Jassal was so helpful when I was so stressed and at a loss and tired of throwing money out the window! He gave me a solution and it’s been a God send!! Follow up and long term comfort plan was discussed for my 16 year old poms eye treatment, and I’m relieved we can move forward with this now. Negative experience: I tried using this service for my cat’s acute urinary issue over a holiday weekend, hoping to avoid ER vet costs until we could see our normal vet. The vet I chose did list urinary issues as something treated through the telemedicine platform, but unfortunately it was a waste of time and money. The appointment lasted less than 5 minutes. While the vet was polite, I was surprised by how rushed the visit felt. They offer to send prescriptions to a local pharmacy or through VetsterRx, but what they don’t explain is that the medications they prescribe are uncommon for most local pet pharmacies. Example, my pet was prescribed Clavacillin instead of the more common Clavamox which is the same medication. This essentially forces you to use their pharmacy, which is overpriced and ships slowly—hardly ideal for urgent care. I called around (Costco, Walmart, etc.), but none had the medication available. I was met with refusal when I asked the vet to switch to an alternative. In the end, we had to go to an in-person vet to get timely treatment. To make matters worse, the initial diagnosis was wrong. I still technically have 3 visits left, but I won’t be making that mistake again. If you need urgent prescriptions, you’re better off avoiding Vetster. 2 stars because customer service was responsive and somewhat helpful.

Fantastic experience: I was away and my friends were watching my cat. Unfortunately, cat got sick and most vets were not working as it was long holiday weekend. I was trying to book appointment at least somewhere, but it was not possible for the same day. I used online consultation within this app and it was great! We got recommendations, we got the prescription and everything was really great. I want to say huge thank you to vet technician Elle Proveau: she went far and beyond to help me locate the meds and she called the pharmacy several times to ask them and send the meds via Uber the next day ( even tho the pharmacy was not working for 3 days due to holiday) She supported me and made sure my cat get the meds as soon as possible. I highly recommend this app and this vet!

Negative experience: The vet we saw was very good and thorough. Our dog was sick with a terrible cough, and gastric issues. We saw the vet on August 3rd and two meds were to be shipped. Due to arrive on the 6-7 and we were charged $56.04. Please note the $15.99 service fee in the attached photo. Reached out for a refund on the 8th because meds never arrived. We had to take him to a local vet and buy the cough and probiotic medication. Vetster only offered to refund the shipping charge. They ended up only refunding $15.00. We were told the medication will be delivered tomorrow on the 8th. Why would our sick dog need the medication almost a week later? Save your money and see a local vet. When an animal is ill medication is needed immediately not 6-7 days later. Lots of additional fees are tacked on for the prescriptions. Charged another $15.99 fee to simply fax in the antibiotic to our local human pharmacy. Total of $31.98 in RX service fees were applied. Please see photos. These vet telehealth appointments are a nice idea in theory but useless if no medication and treatment is readily available. See your local vet and receive same day treatment and medication for a lot less.

I SOMEHOW found Vetster and was scheduled to meet the veterinarian at 11:30 pm . , prescription called in (Antibiotics) picked it up at 12:25 . Great recovery. Fantastic experience: Vetster has been very helpful in managing my cat’s food intolerances, allergies, and possible IBD. It’s a great platform for connecting with vets online, especially helpful when your cat gets anxious during in-person vet visits. While in-person appointments are still necessary for exams and procedures, Vetster was an excellent resource when I needed guidance on understanding my cat’s condition and exploring general treatment options. I really appreciate having this kind of support available from home and being able to get an appointment within 30 minutes.

Fantastic experience: Best thing going if you can’t get to a vet due to no open appointments, you’re not a regular client, yes I was told I was actually not a regular client so call somewhere else! After reaching out to 19 vet offices in my area and beyond I called Ohio! Again no luck! I started looking for virtual vets first app looked and sounded great, it was called “just answers”. Well after 1 hr of watching the little icon say we’re connecting you. I contacted their CS and cancelled! I searched for PetMd and found VETSTERS!!! Mark that down!! It’s an app! If you have pets of any type and have ever been told even by your own Vet they couldn’t see you, you know how my heart felt!! But I contacted VETSTERS got a free talk with a tech, when she knew she could not answer my questions she set me up with a virtual appointment with a vet!! Yes a vet. The vet called me on a virtual visit. Gave me so much information and support. I actually have the ability to contact her over the next two days !!

Fantastic experience: Absolutely wonderful experience. Office visits are difficult for me, I work long hours as a Store Manager and have Muscular Dystrophy. Saving the trip on small stuff helps! Top notch Doctor and they called the prescription to my pharmacy. I can use my HSA card which helps with expenses. Highly recommend.

Positive experience: My dog needed care, but our local vet didn’t have any available appointments. Rather than pay for an emergency clinic visit, we decided to try Vetster. I selected a same-day appointment listed at $55, but during checkout, an additional $25 in fees was added—something to be aware of. We met with Dr. Perry at 4:30 PM, and he informed us that he would send a prescription through the app so we could fill it at our local pharmacy. Unfortunately, the prescription didn’t appear in our account until 18 hours later—after we had already taken our dog to see our local vet the next morning. Vetster may be a convenient option for non-urgent concerns, but if you’re seeking timely, same-day treatment, be aware that delays like this can happen.

Negative experience: My pet is in ICU because the wrong dose of meds was prescribed. AVOID! Do not use a tele vet platform. There are zero controls to protect your pet.

Negative experience: Update: Dr Perry was wonderful!!! And we got a free 2nd opinion because Dr. Sack did nothing but waste our time… Dr Perry is compassionate and could see we were doing everything we could do for a dog probably towards end of life… he listened and gave advice that Dr. Sack left out. Like using iodine to clean the area and wound, clip the fur around him to keep it clean, and prescribed an antibiotic for the wound to make sure there was no infection… Dr. Sack did nothing but repeat herself and got tunnel vision about his neurological issues from the possible heat stroke…. She refused to even assess or treat the possible infected wound we came for because her concern was he would just fall again… valid concern which is why we are trying to keep him fed, clean, stable and not infected so his body is strong enough to carry him without falling… so use this place, but DONT SEE DR. SACK Dr. Sack, THE TELEVET we got late, then hung up early… my dog is 15, a large breed black lab…. We went on vacation and came back and our caregiver didn’t recognize signs of heat issues and that he was t drinking… for a week, I’ve been up all night with him sometimes squirting water into his mouth… one week later his is up and walking, eating 4 cans of wet food… we have him in doors and have encouraged exercise… it’s been 1 week… the vet gets on and basically calls me an unfit dog owner and we shouldn’t treat him as “disposable” he is my best friend… she had no manners and did nothing, no advice, no care just hung up in the middle of a question…. Furthermore she referred me directly to ER vet for sutures for a wound my dog suffered a week ago… my ER doctor brother told me sutures aren’t recommended after 24-48 hours unless antibiotics… she “did no harm” by “doing nothing” skip this $65 donation and just go to the vet… that’s what they will tell you anyway!!!

The appointment availability is also broad facilitating even weekend and after hours consultations. It is an excellent add-on for your regular vet services. Fantastic experience: Had the best experience on this app today! Yesterday the Vet sent a prescription to our animal hospital and the animal hospital refused to fill it. I contacted a RVT through the app today (shoutout to Cece L.) and they were super helpful!! They sent my cats prescription to a different pharmacy and sent me links to purchase the special food for my cat. They were so so helpful and also gave me some tips to help make my cat more comfortable while she gets better. Included is a picture of my 14 year old cat Willow who was the reason for contacting Vetster.

Fantastic experience: This was an amazing experience. Dr. Cecily Grant is a BC professional - my home province. Made her more relatable. But more than that, she was extremely empathetic and gave such great advice, as well as some info that the cat parent of 25 years actually did not know before. Dr. Grant determined I should get my cat in to see a vet in person ASAP, which I’ll do. But I’m so glad that I did this - it gave me peace of mind with a gravely ill cat, and some signs of hope to support me in my actions to save my little cat.

Negative experience: PREDATORY: DOES NOT WORK IN ILLINOIS This company advertises full service in all 50 states. This is not true. You must visit their veterinarian in-person before they can give you medicine, AND THEY DON’T HAVE IN-PERSON VETERINARIANS ANYWHERE NEAR YOU. They’ll take your money for an entire year, but if you try to back out (even if you haven’t seen a vet) your account will be put “under review” until they decide to refund your $120+. Thanks. Now I’m out $120. They took $120 from me when my cat got injured, promising something they don’t offer, and now they want to put me on hold until they decide it’s time to refund me. AVOID THIS COMPANY UNLESS YOU HAVE AN ESTABLISHED VET WHO USES THIS SERVICE (which is crazy unlikely). Unbelievable predatory behavior

Fantastic experience: My German Sheperd was having excessive itching. I knew she needed to see the vet, but each visit over the past few years has become increasingly stressful for her. Plus, I have found that every veterinarian visit has increased in price. I looked at other options and discovered Vetster. I researched it and decided to give it a try. The subscription made the most sense as it was less than a one-time visit. I had a virtual appointment with Dr. Tim Julian. The appt lasted over 20 minutes, longer than most of my visits at the vet. He asked many questions, and I was able to show him my dogs skin condition. He prescribed an antibiotic and predisone and told me to email him if I had any questions or further issues. The Vetster app made things so simple. I picked it up this afternoon. I'm sure I paid much less than a visit to the vet. Plus, the visit took place in the comfort of my own home. I'm extremely impressed by this service and very pleased with the care and knowledge provided by Dr Julian.

Negative experience: I am writing to formally express my deep frustration and disappointment with the care provided by Dr. Margot Sacks, DVM, during a recent Vetster consultation for my puppy. I scheduled a video appointment with Dr. Sacks, during which she quickly recommended a significant change to my puppy’s diet (costing over $100) and prescribed medications totaling approximately $250, in addition to the $65 consultation fee. Despite following her recommendations precisely, my puppy has shown no improvement. What’s more concerning is the lack of compassion and engagement displayed during the appointment. The call felt rushed, impersonal, and dismissive. When I sought follow-up guidance, I was told to take my puppy to an emergency vet — a suggestion that felt like a deflection rather than a thoughtful clinical decision. My puppy did not require emergency care, but rather a knowledgeable and compassionate veterinarian who would take the time to properly evaluate and support us. Adding to my concern is the fact that Dr. Sacks does not list her full name or professional credentials on the Vetster platform. This lack of transparency is troubling, especially in a field where trust and credibility are paramount. At this point, I question both the ethics and quality standards of Vetster. I feel misled and financially exploited, and I believe other pet owners deserve to be warned.

Negative experience: I used Vetster for what was supposed to be urgent, 24/7 care. It was anything but. I booked a midnight appointment, got a prescription from one of their vets, and went to the pharmacy right after—only to find out the prescription hadn’t been approved. Despite being issued by their own licensed vet, Vetster requires internal approval before faxing it out, and that process stops when their “offices” close—so much for 24/7 service. There was no way to reach anyone for help. No phone number, no escalation—just a chatbot that couldn’t do anything. To make matters worse, they charge a $20 fee just to fax the prescription, on top of the appointment fee. In the end, I paid nearly $300 and still couldn’t get the medication. A local clinic the next day would’ve been cheaper, faster, and more reliable. Vetster promises convenience, but in a real-time urgent situation, they failed completely. This is not a service you can count on when it matters.

Negative experience: STAY AWAY!!! Fraudulent! We scheduled a Vet appointment with one of their vets on the platform and minutes prior to online appointment the Vet cancelled! Vetster then proceeded to charge our card for full amount and when we disputed the charge Vetster claimed that we cancelled the appointment and there is NO REFUND since we cancelled. We are arguing with company that we did NOT CANCEL and were waiting for Vet to contact us at assigned time when we received notice that they cancelled! Wasting hours trying to fight this FRAUD!!!!

Fantastic experience: Love Dr Cotter! My malinois who has to have the vet clinic cleared out and wear a muzzle cut himself on a piece of our bed. Because of his major anxiety and the dislike for people (he is a rescue and was aeverly abused as a puppy before we adopted him 5 years ago), I use Vester with our favorite vet, Dr. Cotter. He immediately recognized the issue and a treatment plan was created in minutes. Did I mention he was able to accommodate my need for an appointment immediately at at 6 am! He is amazing and we are so grateful for him. He has fixed Bane in the past with a previous issue and we know his treatment plan will fix him again! And Bane does not have to suffer anxiety with going into the vet clinic. Thank you Dr Cotter!!!!

Positive experience: My dog had an ear infection and I wasn’t able to get him into our vet for a few weeks. The Vetster app was easy to use, connected me to a very kind vet quickly. The cost for my appointment was $190 Canadian. Yikes but an office visit would be close to that. $18 admin fee for my prescription to be sent to the Ruffy online pharmacy. Seems excessive. The cost of the meds was fair but $25 for shipping seems steep. All in it’s $300 for this. I won’t get the meds for a few days to start treatment, I would have been better off getting an “emergency” appointment at my clinic.

Negative experience: Know the adage: What you were sold is not what you bought? The Vetster concept is very attractive: Timely, affordable vet service to help your sick animal. And, Vetster has a slick well thought out app to facilitate this concept. In my case it was a Saturday when I needed an appointment. The only appointment available with a California licensed vet was Sunday AM for $190. Ouch! But my animal was in need. So I went for it. I had my video call with the Vet. She was good and prescribed 3 medicines. This is where the what you bought goes bad. Vetster charges a fee of $17 per medicine even if you order through its online pharmacy which only had one of my animals meds. So tack on another $51 to my bill. I had hoped I could get all the meds as advertised at a local pharmacy of my choice. No, these are veterinary meds not human. Searched Walmart, CVS, Costco etc. nothing. So I was forced to buy online from various vets pharmacies. Paid through the nose for next day freight to get the meds on Tuesday PM. Remember I started my Vetster on Saturday. I should have gone to the Emergency vet!

Fantastic experience: The vets are wonderful, they are available when needed and with their skills at diagnosing it is the best and fastest way to cure simple ailments. They will advise when a physical vet appointment is needed and suggest which tests may be needed. Yodi 16 year old cat is eating again and acting like a kitten .Pixy and Lucy have no more bleeding, diarrhea or mouth sores. Highly recommend this vetenary service.

Negative experience: Be aware of hidden fees! If you don’t use their online pharmacy service and you want to find the best price for your pet meds and get them same day then they charge you a minimum of 1599 to get their prescriptions to your local pharmacy of choice. They do not disclose these fees in advance of booking your appointment. So, the only way you’ll know what you’re going to be charged is after your appointment When you try to access the prescriptions. For me, this was a no go as I needed the vet meds same day. I will say the vet was great but it does little good when you can’t get their treatment plan without forking over the platforms hidden fees and paying whatever their online pharmacy decides to charge for the meds.

Negative experience: Extremely frustrating experience. Don't waste your time and money here. I spent hours and hours of my time on the app trying to get decent services. The first doctor mis-diagnosed and prescribed 5 different medications. It felt like she threw the whole kitchen sink at us. It took over a week for the meds to arrive! Meanwhile my cat continued to suffer. After I complained they gave me an appointment with a second doctor who changed the medications. They tell you you can pick some of them up at Costco but it's hit or miss and the one Costco that did have the antibiotic gave me human form - so the taste was terrible for my cat. Customer service was also hit or miss. Some of them were great and one of them was rude. Well I finally fired them and I got a partial refund. I took my cat into in person vet here and got much better care and picked up medication immediately.

Positive experience: So I love Chester and have used them many times for an appointment when my vet was closed. It’s way cheaper and faster than an off-hours clinic and I even use the same vet or his son every time, so they know my dogs. There is no reason to withold treating his infection by assuming something else was wrong that absolutely wasn't the case after having him examined by a REAL VET. Ive already reached out to customer service and was offered a $25 credit to use on a future visit. I would ABSOLUTELY NEVER use your service again..for what? To waste time talking to a vet who isn't actually going to even treat my animal? No thanks I don't need to pay $80 for free advice a receptionist could give me at a vets office.

Negative experience: Price gouging and hidden fees make this service no longer useful. I was okay paying $70 for a 5 minute video call in the past, but not they have added large fee's at checkout, and $15 fee to "coordinate" sending a prescription to a pharmacy. They basically hold the prescription hostage and dont allow you to acquire it due to privacy which is laughable because its a new fee. There are plenty of other virtual vet services out there and Vetster is no longer cheaper than an person vet visit. You pay over $100 for about 5-10 minutes on a video call. They are preying on peoples vulnerability of loving their pets. SCAM!!!

Fantastic experience: My recent rescue has severe anxiety. Dr. Roy prescribed a medication to help us during my upcoming cross-county move as well as one to gradually ease my dog's anxiety over the next few weeks. He recommended a book and vet/behavioralist in the area, as well as giving me guidance on finding the right vet in the area I'm moving to. Dr. Roy gave me feeding tips and instructions on how to keep my pup's homemade diet frozen during our 4 day roadtrip. Completely unprompted, he recommended microwavable rice and probiotics to prevent/treat stress-induced stomach troubles. Dr. Roy exceeded my expectations!

Negative experience: Read the fine print, I thought I was paying for 1 appointment and got charged for the annual plan. I did get it canceled and got $3 back. But then on top of that I was charged an international charge of $1.20, I know it’s an insignificant amount but I didn’t see anything that said this is a thing. Furthermore the vet couldn’t do anything but tell me what I already knew. I hoped I could get an antibiotic for my cat but nope, it was a total waste of money.

Fantastic experience: Lilo has a respiratory cold & dr. Delacruz was quickly able to diagnose her & send antibiotics! I had taken lilo to a local vet last week & they wanted to do $1,000 worth of tests when she had recently had bloodwork done already. I let them do routine bloodwork & everything looked great. She just had a cold! Old school vets are such a money grab, the vet didn't care about helping my cat feel better. We left with nothing to help my baby feel better except for a quote for $700 of more testing. Dr delacruz was straight forward, professional & caring & what I would describe new generation vets, no rigmarol just taking care of animals & improving quality of life. Thank you for this service!

Fantastic experience: I live in the upper Peninsula of Michigan and have a wild donkey that came from the desert southwest. This first winter has been a huge struggle and she got a nasty sinus infection. Donkeys are very stoic and don't show illness unless they're very sick, and she was showing it. I could not get a local vet to come out because they say they don't do farm calls in the winter. The best they could offer me was a haul in appointment six weeks from now. Through Vetster, I was able to get her the treatment that she needed and on antibiotics immediately. The veterinarian was very professional and kind. I will continue to use this service because they may very well have saved her life.

Negative experience: Wanted to share a deeply frustrating experience I recently had while trying to care for my 22lb Maine Coon cat, who has a very sensitive stomach. I hope this feedback can help improve the service or at least warn others before booking with vetster. To give you some context, I have a pet sitter who comes by to keep my cat company while I’m at work. One morning, I was in such a rush that I forgot to put down his daily dry food. My sitter kindly offered to purchase more food when she realized the bag was empty. Unfortunately, the specific food I feed him (Science Diet Urinary Care) is only available at pet stores, and she unknowingly bought an alternative she thought would work (Purina One Urinary). As soon as my cat ate the new food, he became very ill, vomiting throughout the night. I immediately recognized what had happened, as he had a similar reaction as a kitten. Back then, the vet prescribed anti-nausea medication and a bland diet for a few days to help him recover. Unfortunately, the emergency vet was completely backed up, so I decided to try an online vet service for the first time. I found a service through a Google search that had good reviews (though I now suspect many of them might be fake). I booked an appointment, which was supposed to happen within an hour. However, I received an email shortly after stating that the appointment was canceled and that I would need to choose another vet, free of charge. What followed was an infuriating back-and-forth where I had to explain my situation multiple times. It felt like I was being given the runaround. After arguing and persisting, I was finally awarded a refund, but the entire experience left me angry. Thankfully, I called a friend who suggested reaching out to Chewy. Chewy’s customer service was incredibly helpful—they guided me on exactly what to purchase for my cat’s situation, and they didn’t charge me anything for the advice. It was such a relief after the ordeal I had gone through.

Negative experience: Vet was fantastic. However, I did not appreciate having a $15.99 plus HST fee added for the prescription. I will not be using this platform again because the dispensing fee should be made known and clearly stated before you even consider using this service like the other fees are. I feel like it’s very unethical to not only charge a fee to book but also a hidden fee to get a prescription. I will be reporting this platform to the CPA and OCP because by not CLEARLY showing all fees is against both. I’m surprised no one else has reported this app.

Negative experience: After going through the process of setting up yhe account, payment, (120.00), meeting with the lovely vet...we were told we needed to bring our pup to a vet to be seen for what we believe is a UTI. The vet refused to treat him. Please do not waste your money. I took him to an emergency vet the same night and spent another several hindred dollars for treatment of a UTI. This site is a total waste of your money.

Negative experience: The vets are great but they recently added an almost $20 hidden fee to dispense prescription to pharmacy. I’m on an annual plan and this fee suddenly appeared during the third visit out of a foot visit plan, without any notification. There’s no way to avoid this fee since it’s the only way to get the prescription sent to a pharmacy. They give a bs story that it’s needed to coordinate the safe delivery of a prescription, but that cost should be either mentioned upfront or included in the cost of the initial service. I won’t be renewing my subscription with them, I don’t work with shady businesses especially when it comes to my pets health.

In our case, to order the medicine from them (and wait to get it) it was a 500% markup in cost…it is more cost effective to take your pet to a normal veterinary clinic. Bummer too because we enjoyed our vet through this service.

Negative experience: The vet was great- BUT if your pet may need any medication prescriptions I caution you. Many medications can only be obtained through a veterinary clinic -and vet clinics won’t just dispense! Your only other option is ordering on line- paying big shipping fees and it takes FOREVER!!! Ordered on weekend and now it’s Wednesdays and the shipper just got the package … now I wait another week for delivery while our pup is dealing with an ear infection. I wish I knew this info!

Negative experience: Be aware of hidden fees. Vetster charges $15.99 just to fax your prescription to the pharmacy. They require you to gather all of the contact information for the pharmacy you want to use, so be prepared to find this info. Vetster says the $15.99 fee is to cover the cost for their services, but I had to gather all of the information for them. Vetster even sent me an email saying the prescription had been faxed, but I should follow up with the pharmacy to make sure they got it. The cost of going to an emergency vet in person is about the same after all of the hidden fees.

Negative experience: disclaimer - I did not actually sign up for them but wanted to share that when I made some inquiries using their online chat, it was revealed that you do NOT in fact get 24/7 access to talk to vets online if needed. They are only available 10-8ET. For me that is 6pm local time closing - not much of an added plus compared to my local vet office. Sometimes a vet might be able to accept an appointment outside of those hours, they said. So I feel like it is misleading that they are claiming the subscription would give you the option of being able to connect 24/7 with a vet online if you ever needed to for something after hours urgently. Just sharing this as I am glad I did not purhcase the subscription before discovering their advertising is quite misleading. I had been hoping to find some kind of subscription for when something happens to your dog after hours, and you're on the fence trying to decide if you should bring them to an emergency vet or wait until morning, sort of thing. This service would NOT be that.

Negative experience: Very skeptical of this online vet thing and they did not disappoint. Due to relocation I am currently looking for a new vet but had an issue that required immediate attention. I found this site using a google search of my previous vets name. Book the appointment and pay but funny thing a no show. Yea I was shocked too. This site is designed to bounce you to the next available much like a call centre in India. Face it, they know they are preying on your emotions when it comes to your pet and at the same time they are stroking your wallet. From reading other reviews it seems the prescription service is a big cash grab. I don't see myself having open heart surgery performed online so do you want that for your pet? It's a scam to prey on the crazy cat ladies with nobody else to talk to.

Negative experience: I wouldn't recommend Vetster at all. My experience with them has been, to say the least, a bit unethical regarding subscription renewal and charges. I used Vetster last year when my dog wasn't feeling too good on Sunday, and my regular vet was closed. At first, I thought that service was brilliant, signed up for their yearly membership. The veterinarians I talked with were professional, yet immediately I could understand the limitations of such a service. Because they cannot physically examine your pet, they more often than not give advice and refer you back to your local vet. You pay for Vetster, but still go out of pocket for a visit to get a proper diagnosis. They didn't save me any money in my case. For example, my dog needed some allergy shampoo and pills, but I had to wait for days to have the prescription mailed to me. If your pet needs immediate treatment, that is just a delay that doesn't help. And even though you think your money is being saved by using Vetster, at the end, you'll probably be going to see your regular vet anyway. What really annoyed me was the fact that they renewed my yearly subscription without any notification or reminder. When I wanted to cancel, I couldn't find it in their portal, and the only form of reaching them is online chat and they said it was in the fine print of the agreement. That felt quite underhand, pretty much not in tune with good ethics since they had not made this easy to do, let alone sent any notifications about the renewal. Honestly, if you want to economize or at least avoid vet visits completely, I would not suggest Vetster. It feels more like a local vets referral network than a real, cost-saving alternative.

Fantastic experience: Amazing service!! Not only is it a lower rate for the same expertise, it's in the comfort of your home!! This service is great for some things, but of course cannot replace a physical vet visit in some cases. I have used this serive twice, 3 years apart, and it was great both times. The customers advisors that arrange the prescription being sent to your pharmacy were extremely understanding when I needed them to refax. They were still understanding when I needed the prescription sent to a whole different pharmacy. Dr. Sami itrat was very helpful during our call. I will definitely use this service in the situations that I can!

Negative experience: FALSE ADVERTISING regarding the service they provide. I spoke to a vet using this service who said that he could only help my dog with her allergies if I physically came to his vet office and went on a regimented plan - trouble is I chose a VIRTUAL vet service for a reason, because it is very challenging to get there. I asked for a simple prescription for antibiotics and he said he would fulfill this and never did following the appointment. When I asked Vetster for a refund their customer service rep refused and instead pasted a link to their terms and conditions and said the vets can do whatever they want and it laws are based on where you live. No refunds. As long as you are okay with losing whatever money you throw at this company, then go ahead and take a chance however, I found it absolutely useless and a waste of time and money.

Fantastic experience: Was able to get my cat the care she needed for a minor health issue quickly and rather inexpensively. My vet couldn’t get her in anytime soon and the emergency vet facility in my area was totally backed up. So grateful I found this option. Def recommend for minor pet issues.

Fantastic experience: What a great service Vetster is! Quickly got an appointment with Dr. Levisman for my senior German Shepherd who does not get around so well anymore. I got a great care plan and prescriptions for my dog. I was even able to fast track one medication prescription by sending it to CVS near my home. I am blown away by the above average customer service, reasonable cost, and how knowledgeable Dr. Levisman is. Thank you!

Negative experience: Used this site because I thought my dog had a UTI or Yeast Infection. My vet couldn’t get us in for a few days so I thought why not. The vet was SO, SO UNPROFESSIONAL and scared me. Told me my dog could have this infection that could kill her anytime now if I wait for treatment. Instead of answering my questions and trying to get me to understand what was going on, he made it worse. A 30 min appointment was maybe 10 minutes. I had to call around for fax numbers for places if I wanted to get a prescription for my dog, they DO NOT DO THAT. This site is nothing but a scam. The vets DO NOT care about your pet, they get a percentage of everything done through the app or website. The 1000’s of positive reviews had to have been either compensated for them to made by bots. Save your money and go to your vet! Do not put yourself and your animal through more stress!!!

Fantastic experience: I can't recommend this service highly enough. My dog had a case of pinkeye that developed over the weekend. The emergency vets I called had a 4 - 5 hour wait. I was able to get an appointment with Dr. Teitge within a half hour of signing up. She was on time (early actually), thorough and very helpful. Dr. Teitge prescribed drops, and my dog was able to get relief right away. The visit also cost a third of what I was quoted over the phone for a local emergency vet. Thank you!
