Fantastic experience: Great experience! We are from out of town. They got us in quick. The front desk staff were friendly. The vet was knowledgeable and our dog loved her.

Fantastic experience: I just wanted to take a moment and give all my praise and genuine love to the people who work at Chase River Vet. It's seriously intimidating taking your animal to the vet already, but the staff there help so much with their love and compassion. I had an instance where I most likely looked put off because I didn't know that I couldn't join my pup in the procedure room when the assistant asked to take my dog (he's never been in those doors and I didn't know the rules).. instead of the staff being rude and saying "you should know this or its basic knowledge" or something- She showed remorse for me not knowing why I wasn't able to go with him and explained every reason why! She made me feel very safe. ❤️ Today my pup got his procedure and the staff couldn't have been any more wonderful!! They show genuine love for the animals they help and it shows! I've never been fully comfortable with vet staff in the past so I'm beyond glad we made the switch. Everyone is friendly and willing to take the time to explain every answer to every question you have, even if the question seems rediculous. They're so knowledgable and super willing to explain every detail of what's going on with your pet. Please please please, if you have veterinary anxiety like me- reach out to Chase River Veterinary staff. ❤️❤️

Fantastic experience: Amazing staff, so caring and kind. They treated our amazing Bear when he was diagnosed with skin disease and prostate cancer but unfortunately he did not beat the battle. When he was put down they treated us great and I appreciated that in such a hard time. Here is Bear in his better days!

Negative experience: I like to support a Veterinary close to my location but why would I buy food for my dog at a 15% price over other vets? I can drive across town for that much.

Negative experience: Horrendous front Reception staff. Literally always feel like you are a Massive interruption to their day. The Vets are great if you didn’t have to deal with the front desk EVER. They have lost our six pets because of the horrible customer service of the front end staff. Consider some training for them, not sure it would help.

Fantastic experience: A Deep Thank You to the Team at Chase River Veterinary Clinic Recently, I faced one of the most heartbreaking moments of my life — having to humanely say goodbye to my beloved cat of over ten years. She had been my constant companion, my best little buddy, and parting with her was an incredibly painful decision. During this very difficult time, Dr. Sakai and the front office staff, especially Debbie, showed a level of compassion and empathy that I will never forget. They didn’t just treat the situation as another appointment; they truly understood the depth of what I was going through and made an impossible task just a little more bearable. Their kindness, patience, and gentle approach offered me comfort when I needed it most. What stood out to me most was that this clinic clearly isn’t about rushing people through or maximizing profit — they genuinely care. Fantastic experience: Dr Sakai was so sweet and gentle with my nervous dog. She spent the first several minutes of the appointment giving my dog treats and scratches to get her comfortable before she did any sort of inspection.

Fantastic experience: This is a long overdue review as my fur babies have been attending Chase River Veterinary Hospital for the last 12 years. They have received the best care throughout the years and I trust them completely. All staff are personable, compassionate and professional. They are organized and always on time for prescription refills, following up and returning phone calls. I have never been disappointed with their level of care. I definitely recommend them to take care of your fur babies.

Positive experience: I’ve only gone once so far, but they have been pretty good! My cat is really outgoing and has a lot of patience, so I can’t comment on how they are with anxious patients. She has a difficult disease to manage though as the cause cannot be identified. So, it’s a lot of guesswork. Internal medicine strongly believes it is viral. The vet has been working hard to help me manage her flare up where she has a wheezy cough. She’s done follow ups and helped me find medications that actually work for her. The only issues I have had with Chase River so far are: 1. Their dental cleanings are quite expensive compared to some of the other hospitals. The extractions seem reasonable though. 2. Somehow the vet read my cat’s history and thought she had asthma. I guess because she’s on an inhaler typically used for asthma to manage some of her symptoms. Honestly, they have so much to keep track of, I don’t blame her for this. She was apologetic when I explained to her that she isn’t asthmatic and listened to my explanation well. 3. The veterinarian told me we were going to give her medication daily, but the prescription said every other day. And she was gone for 5 days so nobody could confirm or deny if it was correct.

Fantastic experience: Even when they were short staff and super busy they still made time to help me and my pup out! Super appreciate it and I think I'm switching vets! Thanks a bunch!!!

The clinic is always a pleasure to engage with because the front staff love animals and appreciate customers. Everyone is aware of the vet shortage on the Island. Some front staff get hostile to the public. Not this place! Top-level professionalism. I'm so happy to bring my animals here!

Fantastic experience: I've been coming here for years with a few different cats and Dr. Norman has always been fantastic to work with. She's found time between appointments to answer my questions and make informed decisions (cats are so sneaky at hiding illness!). Prices are reasonable and you can always ask for a quote if you're on a budget.

Fantastic experience: Have dealt with them for years, always great service. Took COVID seriously but without interrupting service/care for pets, and didn’t miss a beat. Can’t recommend them enough.

Positive experience: Hands down the best vet clinic in town. The veterinarians there are super thorough. Although I wish just a normal check in or diagnosis was cheaper.

Fantastic experience: They understood the seriousness of my dogs condition and were able to see her within 20 min. The staff, all of them, were amazing. I left my sick dog in their care feeling like I was fully informed of her care and treatment plan. I had 2 different vets seeing her, they were both wonderful. I had heard about how wonderful this practice was for years and tried to get in there a couple of times but they are popular and busy and not accepting new patients at those times. I feel very lucky indeed that I am able to now have my animal as one of their patients. I was also very pleased they were prudent in not ordering extra unnecessary tests saving me an astronomical bill.

Negative experience: Terrible. Took my dog there yesterday. He was nervous and scared. Veterinarian came in and did not give my dog time to calm down from excitement. Do she took him out back where she “had more hands”. They brought him back full of the liquid that is excreted from their glands and said”they couldn’t handle him”. They tried to hold him down and put a muzzle on him. They terrified him. New place, new people, alone without owner. And they told me to clean up the fluid from secretion. That only happens when a dog is extremely afraid. First time for that one. Bottom line that exam should have taken place with me present. They charged me even tho they did nothing. Very rude unprofessional staff. After all of that I had to wait 15 mins for a bill that shouldn’t have received. Also there were 4 staff at reception at the time. I took my dog to another vet yesterday afternoon after that appointment WITHOUT a single issue. I would not recommend taking an ant that place.

She was so kind and patient with her and took the time to help her settle down and get to know her by giving her lots of treats and praise. Pandora ended up just adoring her, I think she wanted to go hang out with her instead of me by the end of our visit! I’m so extremely grateful to have her as Pandora’s vet. I can’t thank her enough!

Positive experience: The reason I started going to chase River animal hospital is his doctor Ian Lori was the one that opened it after working at the Island hospital on Thorne road and I really liked him now I think he just the owner cuz I've never actually seen him there the vets are very knowledgeable but the only problem I have is they should double check with people whether they want to spend more or less on medications because sending someone home with medications that cost a triple or four times as much as they could when they could just send home the medications human version which is the exact same thing that was my only problem because I don't even though it makes it a lot easier to give it to the dog when it's in a treat form I could also just put the pill inside a treat which would help me out financially by not costing four times more just for having a compounding pharmacy make it up and so if they could just maybe check with people before doing that that would be awesome for their wallet and for just everything other than that they've been nice.

Fantastic experience: Whether it has been our three cats or my GSD, I've always relied on the professionalism of Chase River Veterinarian Services. While many have banged pots and pans for our valued RN's veterinarians are going unnoticed and are paying the price so this is a shout out to them for a job well done and our immense gratitude.

Negative experience: The vetinarians are awesome if you can get past the ridiculous staff who answers the phones. I called with my dog in distress. Breathing issues. Couldn't eat or drink and got told my vet was booked up for 3 weeks. I explained it was an emergency. They said sorry. Vet is booked. I had to go to emergency then called again but got told sorry too busy to see my dog. went to petroglyphs who took me moments notice for another look. Petroglyphs helped me the next day put my dog out of her misery. She was suffering. Then got a call for condolences from Chase river. Really?

Fantastic experience: Called every vet in town and they were unable to take my cat in even though it was an emergency... until chase river! They saved the day and took my boy in for the surgery he needed, and were very courteous and communicative.

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend Chase River. Dr. Lawrie had been my dog's vet for 8 years and I'm quite confident that he is receiving the very best care. Debbie and all the support staff are amazing. They're excellent with the animals, friendly with the owners and are always ready to answer questions if they can or to find out the answers if they can't. They are going out of their way to adapt and have things run as smoothly as possible during the pandemic and I can't thank them enough.

Positive experience: Some businesses are using Covid as a reason to innovate and overcome the current challenges. This office has demonstrated that they are listening to their customers and care about their opinions despite all the challenges they have had to contend with. Definately worth the wait and extra trouble making appointments, I won't take my dog anywhere else.

They are empathetic as well which is very important. They are obviously great with all other animals my friend takes her cats and dog, bunny and guinea pigs there too. She loves it and she is the one who recommended me. They go above and beyond the call of duty always try to accommodate you. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Positive experience: R.I.P. Cocoa September 11,2020 at 2:30 P.M. We lost our 13 year old son (dog) to a sudden heart attack. We are heartbroken . Nothing we could have done to save his life . Rushed him to the hospital but it was his time. On that note it was scarey driving south about 15 minutes to the vets that we have been going to for the last 7 weeks every week for our other dog that broke his leg . When we were just a block away we had the sense to call the Chase River clinic and told them we were a block away coming in with cocoa as we think he had a heart attack. The receptionist asked if we had an appointment. My husband said no Our dog is dying and we need help NOW . She said sorry we are booked . "You will need to take him to the emergency clinic on Metral drive". So now we make a turn to go North Cocoa is still breathing but barely. I say lets just go to the other vets down the road . Don't call them just go. So we did . We fly into the parking lot and there is a receptionist outside . I ran to her and told her what happened and she took Cocoa without a second thought. She raced him in and they quickly examined him. He went into another arrest right in front of the Doctor so this was his time. Doctor had us come into the building and we had to say our goodbyes right there and then. This was sudden and I am still in shock. I will be contacting the Chase River Clinic and I will make a formal complaint. I hope no one ever experiences that kind of service . Petroglyph VET Update I contacted management and I have no doubt that this is not the norm. Everyone and every business is different than it used to be . New challenges for us all. Thank You for you love and compasion.

Fantastic experience: We bring our dog and cat to the vets at this animal hospital and they’ve all been so great, particularly Dr. Sakai & Dr. Halverson who have seen our pets through emergencies and aging and regular vaccinations. I love that they are open on Saturdays! This animal hospital is also wheelchair accessible- there is level entry with a short incline to the door, a single accessible parking space next to the door and level access throughout the waiting room and treatment rooms. There is no power door opener on the main entry but it is direct view of the front desk where there are several staff who jump up to help. The front counter is a bit too high for an average wheelchair user but they do come around the counter if needed. Staff have helped me out to the car when needed.

Fantastic experience: They are always super attentive to my Lil man and are careful and care about his feelings if he feels uncomfortable with what they are doing. Overall he's a healthy boy and they do their job great!!

Fantastic experience: The vet we see Dr Lawroe is awesome. He always so kind with us and our pets. It's hard to find someone you would trust your kids health too...same goes for a pet. He'll take his time to gain the trust and confidence of your pet. The reception there is always attentive and helpful as well. They are always willing to explain things on detail.

Negative experience: I had a very sick cat they wouldn't help me told me to find another vet
