Fantastic experience: I know repositories for reviews are often polarizing, but I just wanted to say that my experiences with the techs and vet have been incredibly helpful, compassionate and friendly. They work very hard doing work that is often complicated and emotionally difficult and I want to acknowledge the quality and level of care provided by the team ❤️ Thanks to the amazing vet techs and Dr. Langelier.

Negative experience: In August 2025 I brought my dog to be treated for the symptoms she was having which the result was "a bit of yeast and bacteria" so they gave me a foam that did not treat it. They also advised that she had low thyroid so I put her on a thyroid medication however her yeast did not get treated from the foam so I took her back about that and they did another cytology test and came back in the room and said "yeast everywhere" the shampoo wasn't in stock at the time so when they called me to pick it up when it finally came in I said I didn't want to use it, I had remembered the bottle from before and it made my dog break out in sores and major hair loss, she has extremely sensitive skin and they are aware of that, she's a blue French bull dog, worst skin issues for that breed and colour, they said it's just for the paws so should be fine so I risked it and tried it and now my dogs paws are raw, hair loss, inflamed etc. I was told if the shampoo didn't work or caused injury that she could be prescribed a pill for the yeast, so today I inquired about just getting the pill and now they're saying I have to pay ANOTHER exam fee and ANOTHER cytology test to check for the amount of yeast in order to give me the pill. That is insane. I'm not made of money and this is something that you should be treating as a result of the first exam and first and second test for this. If you keep failing to treat her the first time why is it my responsibility to keep paying for it? Dr Kolby should be ashamed. It's now Jan 2026 and no treatment. Thanks for months of wasted time and for not treating my dogs yeast infection at all. Poor thing.

Fantastic experience: Staff are so kind and pleasant, I got my dog neutered there aswell as his puppy vaccines snd his yearly check up's. My mother and I take out dogs here, and both dogs actually get excited to go in, that alone shows how amazing they treat the dogs there. The staff always are willing to awnser my questions and teach me new things. it is the most affordable vet that actually gives good care.. I have attached photos of our dogs just for fun

Negative experience: I had an appointment booked for my sick, diabetic, senior cat to have her first dose of insulin and to have the vet go over how to perform the injections and discuss how to properly care for her. My appointment was scheduled for 3:00 PM. I arrived 15 minutes early for the appointment and was placed in the exam room. I was told that a vet tech, not the vet, would be in shortly to show me how to do the injections. I waited with my cat for over an hour after arriving and 45 minutes past my scheduled appointment time without a single person coming to assist us. After 45 minutes of no service I had no other choice but to leave. Having to spend so much time in the very hot exam room made my cat incredibly anxious and uncomfortable. Very disappointed that VCA island animal hospital does not take the care of their patients seriously!

Negative experience: Honestly I didn’t want to have to leave this review because I wanted to give this clinic the benefit of the doubt but I’m incredibly frustrated with the vet. It’s so obvious this place is just looking to make money. My old vet in Victoria was nothing like this. I’ve had to bring my cat in about 6 times this year due to the SAME issue. He has this one spot on his stomach that he is constantly chewing at. Each time I go the vet has no other solution than to put a cream on it and try some different allergy food. Not only has the food done nothing but his issue has gotten WORSE. I am beyond frustrated at this point. I should have advocated for my cat and pushed for further testing but I was going based on what I thought was good advice. Not to mention the vet assumed that I couldn’t afford further testing, and didn’t even ask what my budget was. I’ve spent so much money here and he still has this issue. It really feels like they don’t get you any real answers or solutions just so you keep coming back and spending more money. My cats quality of life is being affected badly and I’m beyond stressed and frustrated. Now I don’t have the funds to take him elsewhere because I’ve spent it all on this clinic. I of course will be taking him somewhere else to hopefully find a solution BUT I am not a happy customer. Also your front reception team need a lesson in customer service. They’re always so rude and not helpful.

Negative experience: Island animal hospital is owned by VCA, a subsidiary of MARS corporation, an AMERICAN company. They bought and then jacked the prices up. They used to help the local community out, by administering the SNIP program with the SPCA, but they don’t do that anymore. According to the woman I talked to at the SPCA, they don’t do it because it doesn’t make them as much money. Lovely. Don’t support AMERICAN corporations. Instead, support local vets like Benson View, which is owned and operated by a local vet.

VCA Island animal hospital has been supporting the community in many ways for more than 30 years. We are very involved with the SPCA and help take care of their animals' medical needs while also participating in various programs to help them raise money. The SNIP program was a very helpful program, but the SPCA relies upon the city for the funding. With no funding for this program for the last couple of years it has made the SNIP program difficult to sustain. Please remember that ALL Veterinary clinics are full of compassionate, caring and skilled staff who go to work every day with the sole purpose of helping animals. Corporate or private the people behind the care, who are all local staff, are the same and each one of them is essential to the continued care of all animals.

Negative experience: DO NOT GO HERE Will misdiagnose your animal making their issues more serious then what it is to try and charge you more. They told my new born puppy that her baby teeth needed to be removed cause it will cause her adult tteeth to be crooked, my dog is now 2 years old with perfectly straight teeth. they wantwanted to put my senior dog under for surgery when he wont survive being put under. Its now been 3 years and my dog is still going happy as ever. They are just in it for the money like most people. These people love to take your loved ones away from you.

Negative experience: Terrible experience with Dr. Langelier, furthest thing from gold standard care I have ever experienced. His care or lack thereof was shocking. No attempts to triage, no history collected, lackadaisical approach, and horrendous at communication. When I reached out regarding my concerns, I was met with an argumentative Langelier offering no assistance or valuable insights besides saying “he felt like he did a good job” when factually, it was evident that he did not. Had I not known what I know about vet med, my rabbit would have died a slow and painful death at the recommendations of Langelier. We were seen at a different practice where he received proper emergency care until his passing. I have sent three emails to VCA outlining the details, my concerns, the passing of my rabbit and requesting a refund for the tooth trim that was done poorly that was the catalyst for these events, I have received nothing besides a defensive voicemail from Langelier. I will never visit another VCA practice ever again as this is the second time my pets and I have been let down in a massive way.

Negative experience: I am sad to change my review of this place it was once amazing when we had dr. Large. I find the new vet on staff to be argumentative when you try to ask engaging questions regarding your pet care plan. The only reason two stars is because the front and staff deserve five stars. Will not be returning, which is sad as we’ve been coming here for the past eight years. If anyone can respond to this where Dr. large is, I would like to continue seeing her with all of our animals care.

Fantastic experience: we have not always had a positive experience when attending a vet as our terrier can be reactive ,but after our first visit we found Dr OBrien to be caring yet practical and when we had further work done the team contacted us letting us know thru out the process how things were going which we very much appreciated. i realize that it is a business but the priority was the welfare of our pet and to cause as little stress as possible.Dr Large was the one who did the surgery it went very well and the man who assisted was very kind best out come in years thank you you are the best in Nanaimo

Negative experience: DO NOT BRING REPTILES HERE. Dr. Wilson doesn't know reptiles. Save your money and time and go to Mahalo where the vets actually know reptiles. The owner of Mahalo is a reptile vet and Dr. JT is amazing.

Fantastic experience: I am so very grateful to Dr. Courtenay Large and the ENTIRE Veterinary team of Veterinarians, Veterinary Assistants, administration crew and everyone at the VCA Canada Island Animal Hospital on Bowen Riad that saved the life of my seriously ill pup Roy, when I brought him in to the clinic 2 weeks ago. My pup was showing very puzzling (to me) symptoms, but Dr Courtenay very quickly began diagnostic testing and treatment for him. The observant, fast, confident, effective medical care that she provided in those crucial moments, saved his life. When his little body went into a medical crisis crash that would've killed him within minutes the following day, their fast, knowledgeable, effective emergency medical care saved his life. With constant calm, information and incredible communication with me over the days Dr. Courtenay and the clinics' support team crew, kept me informed step by step and kept my panic (mostly) under control. My little rescue Roy Boy and I are so very grateful to you all. Thank you for saving my little guy. ♥

Fantastic experience: We really appreciated the very quick, compassionate care we recieved at VCA! They were able to squeeze our chihuahua in quickly, when he'd been attacked by an agressive older dog. Dr. Wilson was clear and efficient, and showed compassion for our chi and quickly addressed the abcessed wound. The hospital was busy! And each of the staff members showed compassion and engaged each owner. Recommended. Thank you!

Negative experience: Definitely would not recommend. Dr. Wilson will make you feel like your pet is dying so that you get unnecessary tests done (It was just a simple bladder infection). It was not an isolated incident because it happened again a few months later to someone close to me. We saw Dr. Duke for a few years prior with no issues, but my last experience was more than enough to not go back. Have also overheard a receptionist saying they only work there because they owe them money for their own vet bills.

Fantastic experience: Their attention and care are remarkable. My latest visit was the best vet experience I have had in a decade. I was afraid to bring in my senior anxious cat because he panics, but with the support of a patient vet and a towel with calming spray, it was his best trip to date. Even got a follow-up text a few days later. Highly recommend.

Negative experience: I am really not happy….. i leave messages when they do not pick up their phone I wait days if i get a call at all. The staff just say we were too busy. I’ve never experienced such a money, hungry vet clinic. My cat has had allergy issues since March and I have literally spent thousands of dollars Follow up on this and she is even worse… not better…and she is in a flare right now and I cant get an rx renewal. I can’t even get a prescription refill without a full visit for $300. My old vet would renew a rx for a known issue without another visit. They charge the absolute maximum for everything and the front staff really need to get some empathy. I wonder sometimes if the vets at this clinic know their clients call and are stone walled by the front staff…I am facing euthanasia out of pure frustration as my animal is struggling and there is no followup without spending another 600.00, when I spent 600.00 for a vet visit last month and it didnt work.

Negative experience: Our Lily was a rescue & adopted at 10 weeks(13 yrs now) VCA was her vet from the beginning, all care from vacs to small issues & we 'd seek attention yearly from them with her allergies & reactions. Lily has had some very scary health situations that came up thru covid and we were turned away and had to seek help elsewhere. Another pet was refused care by them & suffered a long and painful death but upon death they were happy to take the body for disposal and bill us. Appointments made take weeks to get if your lucky & there will be a mass of costs displayed to you of what your pets need at that time. IT IS ALWAYS ABOUT MONEY WITH THIS PLACE. THE MORE THAT CAN BE CHARGED, THE MORE LIKELY THEY WILL SEE YOUR PET.

Fantastic experience: We couldn’t be more pleased with the care Dr. O’Brien has provided for our dog, Axel. Fantastic experience: We took our sick cat Meko in yesterday. We received great compassionate care from everyone. After and assessment we were given all our options and it was delivered in way that was straight to the point but also very kind and caring. It was decided that the nicest thing to do for our beloved family member was to say goodbye. VCA on Bowen was so kind and compassionate throughout the whole process. They never rushed us, they reassured us we were doing the right thing, and we never felt pressured, and they gave us all our options for how we wanted to go about it. They even gave us a bit of his fur and ink prints of his paws and nose after. A very kind and loving vet that I’d recommend.

Negative experience: In the past, I have had nothing but good experiences with this clinic, particularly with their veterinarians, who I have found to be incredibly astute and compassionate. However, today has left a very bad taste in my mouth. I appreciate that Microsoft has a global outage today, and that it makes logistics much more difficult. That said, I fail to comprehend why that prevents you guys from offering advice to distressed pet owners. At the very least, I think you should be able to hear customers out before shooing them off the phone and repeatedly cutting them off, or refer them to other options/resources whilst your systems are inoperable. I have since contacted the emergency clinic in Nanaimo, who advised me that my cat needs to be seen today, if at all possible. A conclusion their admittance line was able to come to within minutes by simply speaking with me over the phone and listening to his symptoms. I am thoroughly unimpressed by the dismissive attitude of whoever was in charge of the phones this morning. I empathize with the fact that technical difficulties can be overwhelming, but it's simply not an adequate excuse when it has the potential to put the wellbeing of our furry friends in jeopardy.

Fantastic experience: We’ve always had the best experience here! Dr Large is amazing and has always gone above and beyond for our complicated dog. We have always been met with support, compassion, and understanding. We have never felt judged for our choices, but have always had Dr Large meet us where we are all at. She has taken time for phone calls and text messages, has understood when our dog has been in too much pain to come in and has accepted videos of his condition - and for these phone consults we’ve never been charged. Fantastic experience: After spending a weekend in and out of a vet hospital trying to get our dog looked at, we tried getting an appointment at our regular vet. Despite the urgent nature of the issues, we were not able to get in right away. They suggested we call VCA. VCA recognized that it was an urgent issue, and got our dog in right away. They were professional and caring. We are very happy with the care our dog received, and how we were treated. We will be going to VCA from now on.

Fantastic experience: This past Saturday I had an emergency situation with one of my border terriers. I showed up a Island Veterinarian Hospital and asked for help. They were amazing!! The staff immediately addressed my concerns and Dr. C Large DVM agreed to perform the necessary surgery. I was throughly impressed with her professionalism, compassion, knowledge and the care given to my dog. I am sincerely thankful and appreciated the excellent care we both received. Well done team!! Fantastic experience: My cat was very sick for about a month and I felt like a nuisance calling every day with a new concern, but I was never treated as such. Everyone was always so nice and helpful. When it was time to make tough decisions I never felt pressured, rushed, or judged. I felt supported. Saying goodbye to my cat was the hardest day of my life but I can truly say that the staff here made it so much easier. The compassion that was shown to me and my sweet boy meant everything to me. Negative experience: Horrible experiences with this clinic the customer ahead of me had a very large dog that attacked me for absolutely no reason. It attacked me trying to bite my face while waiting in line after paying a very large sum.if money. When I yelled at the dog owner in fear of my life, the vets and staff all yelled at me, called me an instigator and blamed me. They were extremely rude, careless with animal control, and cared nothing for my wellbeing. I have confirmed this is atleast the second time this has happened at this clinic. Neither you or your pet is safe in their care.

Fantastic experience: Amazing! This is not our regular vet office but I was so grateful that they were able to see my dog who woke up with pink eye on a Saturday morning within an hour of calling. The office staff were so friendly and helpful, the vet and vet tech were extremely patient with my dog who hates being handled. We got great advice and care. They even followed up a few days later to see how he was doing. Vet offices don’t get the credit they deserve, it’s such stressful work - they take care of our four-legged family and not enough people appreciate that.

Fantastic experience: Had to make an emergency run into the clinic from Duncan with a hamster with too much food stuck in her cheek pouches. Negative experience: Been going there for over 13 years since they’ve changed to VCA all they are about is money. Took a friend there as their website says first vet visit free but they charged him because he came to an appointment with me once with my dog and said they “knew him” and said he’s a previous client. He’s been there once with me but they claimed he’s been there several times which is a complete lie. I argued with them for quite some time but still made us pay and Wouldn’t honor their false advertising on their webpage. It’s not the first time I’ve seen this scamming behavior from this vets office.

Positive experience: We have had good service with skilled vets on many occasions. Unfortunately vet turnover seems high and the examination room we recently visited (I think #1) was poorly maintained with peeling cabinets, chipped paint, and an examination stool in horrendous shape. I see these things as being indicative of management having a poor eye to detail or motivated by excessive cost-saving which I fear could translate to deficiencies in animal care behind the scenes. 2 stars for management and building maintenance; 4 stars for service.

Positive experience: Wonderful staff, welcoming and friendly. Was able to get in 2 days after I called to book in. I did have to wait 45 minutes for the scheduled appointment due to limited staff members. Over all great care just in need of more of them.

Fantastic experience: Dr Kolbe did such an amazing job with our rescue dog from Mexico. Our dog had been spayed in Mexico before we received her and they did a very poor job with her surgery. Our poor pup kept getting serious bacterial infection and was in constant pain. It turned out that the previous vet had made a mistake and cut sideways into her ab muscles. Also, they managed to leave guaze in her. Dr Kolbe operated on our dog about six months ago and our dog is now pain free and more energetic than ever. Also, the infections have entirely gone away too. We couldn't be happier with the service that was provided.

Negative experience: What a horrible experience. My dog Teddy had a rash around his eye so I paid $105 for a consult with the vet and $50 for eye drops. The eye drops didn’t work so I called to book an appointment to get some new treatment. I clarified with the receptionist that there wouldn’t be another “consult fee”since it’s a “re check” and his eye is the same.. the receptionist told me there wouldn’t be a re check fee, only new medication fee. I also told her to not take any tests that cost $ or any medical decisions without calling me first since my friend was bringing my dog to the appointment for me because im out of country visiting my grandmother who i haven’t seen in over a year. After the appointment they told me the consult fee is going to be $85 and the meds $56… I told the manager I was told there wouldn’t be a consult fee again… the manager told me they did some sort of eye test that they aren’t going to charge me for (which they did not ask me ahead of time and i told them my friend cant make any medical decisions) and that they aren’t going to give me new medication unless i pay the $85 consult fee again. After arguing with her back-and-forth about how I was told there wouldn’t be a fee for the recheck she started cutting me off saying “ no, no no no that’s baloney, that’s not true” those were her exact words. Very unprofessional. I told her I’m not paying for that and she told me she won’t sell me any medication for my dog then and started threatening to send me to collections and saying I can never come back to the vet. What a nasty lady, clearly putting no effort to try and figure out who it was that spoke to me on the phone at 9:20am last Tuesday that assured me I would only have to pay for the new medication and not another “consult fee”… I also spent $280 2 weeks ago with this vet for my dogs bloodwork to check he’s healthy enough to start anxiety meds, and they sent me the forms with a whole bunch of numbers i don’t understand and haven’t called me to explain that so if you’d like to have the vet call me about that since there’s a note on my files you sent me to call me about that!!! I won’t be speaking to that manager again, I don’t have time for that kind of energy, I’ll only the vet who was friendly. I live alone and I’m a nursing student, so I make sure to clarify before making appointments the total costs so I don’t have any big surprise bills. The receptionists and the vet was very friendly during my visits but the manager was very out of line and rude! I don’t like being scammed or lied to, this whole experience and the managers attitude has made me sick to my stomach and very anxious, now i have to deal with the stress of worrying about being sent to collections and spending time reporting to the better business bureau and trying to figure out if i can get a phone recording of our conversation from my phone provider of when i booked this appointment and was told there wasn’t another consult fee! Thankfully the receptionist did end up selling my friend the medication for my dog only since I did not agree to pay another $85 consult fee too too but wow… I highly recommend going somewhere else to save yourself the stress.

Negative experience: I will never step foot inside this place ever again, that one lady wearing all black is a complete nightmare to deal with, started ripping us a new one because I wanted to wait our turn and she snapped and said "come to the front please" again I said there were people in front of me, then she just went off, went to the back to grab us our cat food and comes out with her "boss" says is everything ok here?? No absolutely not, you guys are a nightmare, there's a reason I stopped bringing my cat here. I'll be filing a complaint asap. Never again, stay clear, customer service isn't their strong suit.

Fantastic experience: The staff at VCA Nanaimo are awesome!!! Our Shiba absolutely loves going there. A special thank you for doctors Duke and Large recently our Shiba injured his left knee doctor Duke found the injury and put us in touch with doctor Large who repaired the injury doctor Large gave us all the options and surgery was the best one she explained everything in detail so we knew exactly what to expect. Now our Shiba is enjoying his quality of life on four legs again thank you staff at VCA Nanaimo for looking after our Bear it's so nice to know that whenever we take him there he is in great hands!!!

Fantastic experience: I have taken both of my cats to a few different vets now as my expectations are really high and I haven’t found someone that could meet those. I decided to listen to a recommendation to book with VCA and cancelled my appointment that I was weary about at my previous vet and I am beyond happy that I did. Never once during or after did I question whether he was taken care of. 5 stars all around

Negative experience: Have been going there for over 10yrs. They sold it. Now its no longer about the pets. Its about how much your willing to spend. There bedside manner is horrible and they do not care about the animals. My dog has never been afraid and now she’s terrified of the vet. Its been a few visits and now im done with them. Would never recommend.

Fantastic experience: I don’t usually post reviews but I have to for the VCA animal hospital. I live an hour away from this vet but this is the only vet I take my rabbits to. They are always able to take me when I have emergencies even if short staffed and they take excellent care of my bunnies. I have two female bunnies and I had to get them fixed. I called 10 different vets and all of them weren’t sure if they could do the surgery Because they “didn’t know about rabbits”. Getting your rabbit fixed is scary but not only did the vet Make sure my bunnies were taken care of they made sure I was too. They messaged me and told me my bunnies had done great. The whole Time it was really scary but they made me feel so much better. I have never gone to another vet after this. Round of a applause for how amazing this vet team is. You all are amazing people amd so kind to my animals. You will have my business!

Negative experience: Would not recommend this vet clinic to anybody! Complete rip off. I was charged for things that I was not told about upfront. I’ve had my dog in for the same treatments at my usual vet in the mainland and charged half the price for exact same service! $170 at my vet compared to $350 here!! The brunette lady was extremely rude and arrogant when I explained the usual cost. As I read through the other reviews and it seems it’s an ongoing trend with this woman. I would not suggest bringing your pet through the doors of this clinic!

Negative experience: They don’t offer help if it’s within 30 minutes of closing time, regardless of the fact that it’s a physical injury that is the point of concern. I’m not sure what the heck happened to society. Anyway, I’m not mad, I’m just sad that the girl on the phone behaved like she couldn’t be bothered, “we are almost closed”. She should not be dealing with people and the health of pets.

Negative experience: I was 15 min late for my pre-paid appointment and it is very upsetting that the vet can not take a quick look at my pets skin or if not enough time at least open the door to have a 2 minute conversation with me before the next client to reassure me my pet should be ok or give any advice to me about what I can do since my pet will not be able to be seen now.. Not very affordable or accommodating to their clients. Bad customer service. 100$ for 15 minutes is also very pricey for low income especially for receiving no services. - A very sad client that has brought my pets here several times and will not be back… Paris Johnson

Fantastic experience: We were lucky to find a great veterinary hospital so close to our home, and even more fortunate to find one with veterinarians that treat exotic pets, since we currently have three guinea pigs. Dr. Duke made me feel so at ease and explained our treatment options with consideration to budget restraints and compassion towards the shyest and most skittish of our trio. This place is a wonderful option for your furry friends. The location is also easy to find just off Bowen Road and has a sizeable parking lot. Hats off to the staff for a great, stress-free first visit!

The older dark haired lady made us feel terrible for needing to come to them for help. Negative experience: Absolutely terrible service from this place. Sure gone downhill in the last 2 years that's for sure. If you want a vet that isn't going to toss a bunch of attitude and make themselves feel above and beyond their clients go to Coastal Vet right across the street. They are lovely. VCA has lost out on hundreds of dollars from me in the short time frame since I have returned to Nanaimo. Again if you want a decent vet, go to coastal right across the street. :)

Fantastic experience: Our new puppy couldn’t breath, had blood coming from his mouth. We drove there, and they noticed my panic and quickly grabbed our baby and took him in to the back and got him oxygen. Unfortunately they where closing soon and they didn’t have all the equipment needed for his situation. They got me all set and ready to go to the emergency vet. They reassured me I did the right thing bringing him there (closest vet open near our house). They where so kind and compassionate. Unfortunately our baby was not having any progress at the emergency vet and we ended up letting him pass without further suffering. It still a shock and our children are devastated. I was so surprised to see flowers delivered to our house today sending their condolences. It honestly means so much and I’m so grateful. That was the most thoughtful gesture, thank you sincerely from our family. Thank you for trying your best to help Rex.

Fantastic experience: I've used this clinic with my cat for many years. He's an older cat now (19) and is on a special diet that he needs because it prevents kidney stones forming. The staff and doctor are very good and helpful. He gets a yearly check up and the doctor phones about any problems and an overall discussion on his health is.

Fantastic experience: I called in a panic because my sons pet rat was wheezing and squeaking with every breath. They took her in immediately and treated her with antibiotics. Everyone was very good, from the first phone call to arranging for pick-up. Thanks for the care. Not every vet will see rodents, I'm glad these folks do!!

Negative experience: Wow! Did this vet office ever go down the drain. We have been taking our many pets to VCA for over 15 years. In the last couple of months we haven't even been able to make an appointment. They say they are under staffed. We went else where. Recently we had an urgent medical concern with our elderly poodle who has been seen by this vet since birth. They said the first available appointment was a month away. Seriously, even for a long time customer with a sick dog you can't squeeze him in? We booked the appointment and also took our dog to another vet for temporary relief. We knew this issue wasn't going to be an easy solution so we wanted to go back to the vet office our dog was familiar with. After waiting a month for our booked appointment VCA called and cancelled our dogs appointment. How uncaring and unprofessional can you be

Negative experience: I will never use VCA, I've asked for flea medicine twice now. I'm informed that is against the law for them to let me buy medicine for my dog without a examination. So now I buy flea medicine from a pet store. They care nothing about the animals only the money.

Negative experience: I am a lab breeder and have been seeing Ken here for years. Since he is no longer there this vet service has been terrible. I booked a litter of puppies to be vaccinated 2 months in advance and they called to move my appointment then called me again to cancel it 2 weeks before the appointment! Will never go to this vet service again.

Fantastic experience: Honestly I am super impressed. Not only did they get my dog in super last minute for an emergency type of issue, Dr. Jamie also went above and beyond and we had a lengthy conversation about my dogs medical history and they she offered to do an xray as well. Negative experience: Not all that impressed. Moved to town Ap 1 and have been here twice as I have two dogs. I was surprised that my dogs were not seeing the same doctor. When I inquired I was told that unless you request it, and okay with waiting longer for an appointment, then you get who you get. All very impersonal. Neither time did the vet even bother to come out and say hello so I can at least put a face to the person I am trusting my pets with. Small things as well, I specifically spelled my new pups name out and when I got home I noticed it was wrong on the paperwork. I brought her in a crate and was handed her back without the crate. This is because there are several employees behind the counter and you may not get the same one. Had it been the same person shed known. Its the impersonal, MacDonalds of the vet world that I am feeling here. We have another appoint Thursday because older dog needed a refill and because the vet was not the same, he needs to come in again. Will see what happens Thursday and decide whether to pull them out and seek a better solution for our family. Strange as our incredible vet in Victoria recommended this place. Update for June 24 2021: My husband took our other dog for his appointment today as I just couldn't go back there. When he checked our dog in, he gave them HIS phone number to call when ready. I was surprised at home to receive the call that our dog was ready. I called my husband who was sitting in the car waiting for them to call, he laughed and said, "I gave them my number and told them to call it" Again not a huge deal but really seems there is too much going on there with little to no communication amongst staff or to pet owners. BUT what was a huge deal was that the vet WASNT even there even though I was told she/he would be and that is why we made this appointment. So a technician looked at our dog, we assume took a sample of his ear yeast but then couldn't do a damn thing as the vet wasn't there to see the sample. The tech said maybe the vet is in tomorrow - he didn't even know. Unbelievable that no one has any idea what anyone else is doing. Found another Vet recommended by a dear friend. So outta this place. Stay away.

Negative experience: Horrible experience. My dog has extreme anxiety and separation anxiety, he had to be drugged for his shots last year and he still was hard to control with the muzzle. He has no problems at all if I am with him. I begged them to allow me to accompany my dog this July for his appointment. They absolutely will not budge and would prefer my dog is severely distressed. I called another vet and they were happy to accommodate me with him. I will never go back here. Also the front end staff is incredibly rude.
