Positive experience: Fairview Animal Hospital has excellent and compassionate veterinarians who truly care about the well-being of your pets. Their expertise and dedication make each visit reassuring. However, the experience with the veterinary assistants can be inconsistent. Some ensure that insurance claims are properly processed, while others may not pay attention to this at all. When it comes time to pay, it’s important to stay vigilant, because despite the stress of worrying about your pet’s health, the level of care at the cash register can vary significantly. Some assistants go above and beyond, while others do the bare minimum. This inconsistency isn’t a deal breaker in terms of the quality of care your pet receives, but it does mean your experience can differ from visit to visit depending on which assistant handles billing and claims. In our experience, this has required us to double-check what has and hasn’t been claimed, effectively playing catch-up. It’s unfortunate that the commitment and dedication of some assistants does not always match the high standard set by the veterinarians themselves.

Fantastic experience: I was very happy with the vet appointment. The only thing I would have to say is that I wish I was given more information about my cat needing her medication for the rest of her life.

Fantastic experience: Everyone is so respectful and caring towards our fur babies. Gracie loves going to see everyone. She races me to our door. I feel that is because how they are towards our fur babies. I find them to be very gentle when handling the pets. My dog really enjoys the doctors and the assistants who are also very gentle and caring. Where would everyone be if we didnt have them looking after our fur babies. Our animals would be suffering severly. I am very glad that we have them.

Fantastic experience: I find the Fairview Animal Hospital staff to be compassionate, caring, and very honest. There have been several times when I was expecting an expensive procedure for my dogs and they have told me it wasn't necessary. They keep my dogs healthy and happy, and don't try to take advantage of pet owners who will do anything for their animals.

Positive experience: The first time I went to this pet hospital, both the doctor and the receptionist were very nice, so I transferred all three of my cats here and even recommended it to my friends. But during the following visits, the receptionist's attitude was extremely cold and she didn't even greet me, which made me very embarrassed. I'm thinking of switching to another pet hospital. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Fantastic experience: The doctors are great, the techs and assistants are awesome! They are always willing to help. I've been going there for many years and have never had a bad experience, even at the worst of times. All of them have always been compassionate and caring.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Rodrigo's work is spectacular; his knowledge and empathy are second to none. The doctors' assistants are always kind to both pets and their owners. They recently changed the reception staff, at least the afternoon staff, which was the best thing they could have done. The women I had to deal with over the last two years were rude, crude, always answered poorly, and offered unwilling service. Now, arriving and seeing smiles at the reception desk is a gem in this hospital. 100% recommended.

Positive experience: It’s too bad there’s no avian vet there any longer ,but I appreciate that I can still order my Senegal parrot’s food. I have a fractured kneecap so when I was called to inform me my order was ready to be picked up I had to ask a friend to go get it. He went within an hour or so of Fairview’s phone call. Turns out the place was closed for training at the time and he had to waste some time until they opened. Not a big deal but I was sorry that someone who was doing me a favour was inconvenienced.

Fantastic experience: I adopted Olivia from Kijiji. Of course she came with many ailments that was, of course, left out of description. After a traumatizing experience with a previous Vet Clinic that resulted in the sudden death of my prior fur baby i didn't know where to go. I chose Fairview Animal Clinc. The staff treat Olivia with patience, gentle hands and kindness. The Veterinarians take their time and always give her a full health evaluation even when our visit is for 1 ailment. During the appt all attention is on Olivia. A very knowledgable team. 1yr and 3 visits later they have restored my trust in Veterinarians.

Fantastic experience: Couldn’t have found a better vet for my cat. I took my cat for her annual check up and vaccinations. Dr.Rodrigo was very gentle with her and took his time to make her comfortable before the check up. No unnecessary tests recommendation, no unnecessary medication. To the point answers to all my questions. All vaccinations given to her are good for 3 years unlike the 1 year vaccines my previous vet used to give her. The examination room was sanitized for the safety of my pet before use and we were given time to get my cat to settle in and be comfortable before the appointment. Overall exceptional experience! Would recommend it to every pet parent without a doubt.

Fantastic experience: I have been taking my dog here for 4 years. The veterinarians are very friendly, caring and full of knowledge. The reception and techs are also very helpful and kind. My dog is treated gently, thoroughly and the appointments are as quick as they can be. It's a great place to take your pet.

Fantastic experience: I recently took my sweet dog Roscoe to Fairview Animal Hospital as he had a lump on his face. Roscoe is fearful of vet visits and this clinic knew exactly how to handle it. They suggested “fear free” medication prior to and sedation for the exam. I was very nervous of how it would all work out but the team handled it all brilliantly. To see the medical team rallied around my sweet boy, who was sedated on the floor, getting the necessary work done, was incredible! Not one of them complained about working on the floor! All of the necessary tests and treatments were completed safely, professionally and as quickly as possible. I highly recommend this animal hospital!

Positive experience: They have been great with my kitties, especially Dr Flores. He took plenty of time with us and we didn't feel rushed. During one of our first visits, there was a misunderstanding about the age of our kitten over the phone so we didn't need his second appointment for shots. Not only were they honest about it when we arrived, they didn't charge us and even quickly checked out our cat's neuter healing (that was done at another clinic) for free. However, it is difficult to get in quickly for urgent issues. We've had two emergencies and one time the wait was going to be weeks, the second time nearly a week. I wish they kept more last minute appointments available for emergencies. You can find cheaper and faster vet care, but for routine and thorough checkups Fairview is great.

We are generational family-having lived and in this neighbourhood for so very long .Within the last 25 years alone .The staff at Fairview Animal Hospital have taken wonderful care of our beloved critters. That list includes --Sara Wee-Wox- MollyK--Tasha-Nugs Canute and just recently--Meara. At this time Nugs and Meara are the only ones still with us. The staff has made a huge contribution to the fact that Nugs still is with us. She is 9.5 years old and many people never would have given her those extra 9 years. The Drs were and still are amazingly wonderful. Nugs is the Golden and Meara is the little white kitten. Special Thank You to Drs Dibblee and Harris ,both of whom have been there always for Nugs, Canute and yes Meara also. Final word goes to Nugs --she insists that these wonderful Ladies and the Staff at Fairview Animal Hospital- receive their Official Golden Woof of Approval Sat Sept 2,2023---I really Need to update this .Its been a few years complete with a few changes. First ,right at the very top of the list .We All had to deal with the Pandemic. The biggest impact for our family was the fact that we had to say Good Bye to Nugs. This wasn't because of the Pandemic but rather it just was her time.. Thus enter-Merlin---Merlin arrived at our backyard just as that same Pandemic was just getting started. We did say good bye to Nugs only after She taught Merlin just about everything he needed to know .He also stepped into some very big Paw Prints he had to follow. His biggest was becoming the Very Best Beastie Buddy Meara would need. They both excelled. These two animals are completely inseparable. Meara has been very patient ,an amazing Teacher and She Runs the Pack--which is a comment in itself. Meara had yet another visit down to FAIRVIEW Animal Hospital this time she spent with Dr HARRIS .Our family, once again ,is all set for the year. The staff has always been just amazing, This is a multi generational staff for our Multi-Generational Family. They have been always so understanding ,concerned and considerate for decades .We thank them with the biggest Meara's Reminder and Merlin's Melodious Magical Arouf of approval.

Fantastic experience: The doctors were excellent and extremely compassionate. They were also patient with me while I figured out how to address urgent care that was needed. My Cali came home after an urgent surgery for pyometra, happy and healthy with minimal anxiety (I’m sure the drugs are helping) and a healthy looking site. Would recommend for sure, will be returning.

Negative experience: Avoiding at all costs!!! Would not recommend this vet. I couldn’t bring my kitten to my original vet due to the wild fires, so I took him here out of desperation. I feel like I was taken advantage of because of my situation. From multiple x-rays, full blood work, oxygen tank and extremely aggressive antibiotics (which set my kitten back more) — $900 later symptoms still there. I put my trust into this vet to take care of my kitten. A week later found out this was all unnecessary when my vet reopened and brought my kitten in as all symptoms were still present to have my regular vet tell me it was just an upper respiratory infection, and needed a steroid shot. Since bringing him back to my regular vet he has been back to normal, thank god! Never going back!

Fantastic experience: Friendly front staff greet you and your pet. The vet assistants have all been thorough in their initial assessment and we have seen 2 vets, both very caring individuals. I would highly recommend this group (plus there is free and easy parking!)

Fantastic experience: Four years ago Had Merry my rescue dog in for her Cushing Disease 3 month checkup. Merry loves to go there which is really nice. Dr Dibble is always excellent with Merry and everyone is SUPER great with her. So very reassuring to know from entering the door to closing it on the way out Merry is in fabulous hands. Present Merry was in excellent hands with love from everyone at Fairview Animal Hospital. She knew she was loved to the very end of her life. Now 4 years later there wasn't any question where Tansy Willow my new puppy would go. From the get go in January to the present it was just like it was with Merry. I am sure Tansy Willow will grow to love them as much as Merry did. I am so happy they are there for us. Mr Walker my rescue cat has also benefitted from their wonderful care. Even if he is not so happy about it. Lol ❤️

Positive experience: Was great service. Knowledgeable and friendly team. Explained clearly options and treatments. As with all veterinary care these days, services are not cheap.

Negative experience: 6 weeks ago we took our cat here to get her checked and the doctor said she had fleas which was the cause of her hair loss and weight loss and we paid for a full examination and medication and the doctor said she was well and healthy and this week we took her to the animal hospital because wasn’t doing well and we found out she had cancer all in her stomach they missed completely i wouldn’t recommend taking your pet here

Fantastic experience: Fairview Animal Hospital has some of the kindest and most caring providers around! My dog always feels safe and comfortable in their care. I appreciate their prompt communication and follow-up practices, and never feel like I am being pushed unnecessary services/vaccines/procedures/food, etc. When I had to take my dog to the emergency vet hospital, they were copied and followed-up promptly to see how my pup was doing and offered helpful advice. I would recommend Fairview Animal Hospital to any pet owner!

Fantastic experience: Fairview sets a whole different standard of care. The thoughtfulness, empathy and consideration shown by truly every member of this team stands out each and every time. Each visit makes you wonder why medical care whether it be for yourself or your family pet is rarely as humanizing and as validating. In our recent visits to treat a tricky infection with one of our cats, each person I spoke to whether it was Trisha or Victoria or Dr Rodrigo or another wonderful member of the team- there was always genuine interest and a desire to be creative about the solution based on how limiting we might find the medical situation. Everyone always wanted to work together to figure out a good solution for our (very grumpy and hard to treat) older cat that had the highest chance of success and Dr Rodrigo and the team often checked in via phone or email to discuss next steps and remain adaptive. I have never had another vet team anywhere I’ve lived check in and be as present during an appointment (or outside of an appointment) as the Fairview team. I’m a big fan and no matter what may come up in the future with our furry family I’m confident in taking them to our family vet and having an actual 11/10 experience. Thank you so much!

Negative experience: *UPDATED* I brought my roughly 4 year old cat in for a dental cleaning, was given a low-end to high-end quote of how much the procedure may cost. Was assured by the admitting staffer I would be called in the event the procedure was going to be more than expected (ie if they need to extract any teeth). We agreed and I left him in their care. I got called back by the doctor later in the day and was advised they had pulled four teeth without confirmation which rang the bill up past $1,700! -Old review- The staff genuinely care about their patients and it shows. My cat is TERRIFIED of the vet normally but they put him at ease and treated him like a rockstar.

Fantastic experience: Snowball was very sick and meowing loudly while walking with a arched back trying to go to the bathroom. She had some urine drop our several times. I saw some on the floor which looked like it had blood in it. I tried two emergency hospital, but the wait was about ten hours at one and five to six at the other. She was freeking out so I went home. I called Fairview hospital the next morning and they called around to see if I could get her in that day. While on the phone a cancellation call came in and they booked her for that. A couple of hours later she was seen. X-ray and Antibiotic shot later she was home.Doing better. Most of all for them, she did not give the doctor a hard time! Thanks to Doctor Dibblee and staff.

Fantastic experience: I love this vet hospital Dr. "Suzette The Vet" Dibblee is a wonderful vet who has taken very good care of my animal family for the past 20 years. I have had many cats Maggie, Simba, Mr. Bojangles, Emmy, Lily and Gracie as shown in the picture below necessarily in the right order. Fantastic experience: I recently had really bad service from a Vet clinic my family had been going to for 20+ years forcing me to change to the Fairview animal hospital for my dogs care. It was the best thing that could have happened for my dogs health. Sadie had a Cyst on her tail that has ruptured on many occasions and my original vet said the only way to remove the cyst was by amputating the tail. My first appointment with Fairview they had the confidence they could remove the cyst with very little trouble and no requirement for amputation. I booked the appointment and Dr Harris-Dain completed the surgery. It’s been one month since the appointment and I could not speak more highly of the experience. Not only did Dr Harris-Dain keep me informed throughout the whole surgery she also emailed me as soon as she got lab results back from pathology about the lump. One month later Sadie has been left with a small scar on her tail that’s quickly being covered by her fur and is barely noticeable. She’s happy and I’m happy with the genuine care we received from Fairview animal hospital. Your pet is part of your family and they treated Sadie as if she was.

Fantastic experience: Had my bunny Fran in recently for her spay. This was naturally very stressful for us and they did so much to help us be comfortable as well as remember our appointments. I really appreciated how kind they were when we called back with questions.

Fantastic experience: The team at Fairview is excellent. I have had some challenging circumstances with one of my cats, making it very difficult to bring him to the clinic, and they have gone above and beyond to try to accommodate me. They’ve been transparent and upfront about labour shortages that might impact their ability to do a home visit, which I truly appreciate. They have excellent communication and are all so very lovely.

Fantastic experience: I have been bringing my pets to Fairview Animal Hospital for many years, when they were still located in Fairview! I’m now seeing Dr Deblee (I’m sure I’m spelling your name wrong and I’m sorry!) for my diabetic kitty princess. She has been absolutely amazing and compassionate. Early in his diagnoses she took the time to walk me through everything and would always answer me questions that would come up afterwards via email or phone. I’m happy to say Princess is thriving now and I can’t thank the staff at this clinic enough for all the pets I’ve had the pleasure of taking here. We’ve lost 3 dogs and the end of life care and compassion was very very appreciated. I highly recommend this clinic. Thanks for all you do!

Fantastic experience: Back in October 2019 Dr. Dibblee did surgery on my sweet Guinea pig Lexa. She had mammary tumours that needed removing but anaesthesia can be very dangerous for Guinea pigs. Dr. Dibblee and the entire Fairview team did an amazing job and saved my girl! Any concerns I had, she and the rest of her team were quick and happy to answer. Lexa was 3 at the time and is now 6 and still living comfortably with her sister Beth. I cannot begin to express my gratitude to Dr. Dibblee and the rest of the Fairview team for getting my Lexa in so quickly and doing such an amazing job. Thank you so much. I would definitely recommend you take your animals here especially any exotic animals because Dr. Dibblee is truly fantastic.

Positive experience: Love this animal hospital and our vet! Nothing negative to say about that. Although, I will say this evening I had the not so pleasant experience of dealing with a SUPER disrespectful receptionist. Not sure her name but she has black hair tied in a bun and glasses. I was having issues with my debit card working and said i would have to come back to pay for my dogs medication, the vet said not a problem! Come back when you get your card fixed and pay for the tic medication (mind you my dog doesn’t even this medication right now and i could technically buy it anytime in the next year!) I had to pay for nothing else except for the tic medication as we decided to reschedule my dogs actual check up for another day. I went out to tell the receptionist that I will just come back to pay for the tick medicine as my card isn’t working and I delt with a very unpleasant, rude, and judgemental attitude. You work at a animal hospital.. where people may be going through a hard time with sick animals, and you’re giving me, a (usually) paying and regular client attitude simply because i had an issue with my card? Something the vet had absolutely no issue with! It’s very sad to see people like this especially considering i did zero to trigger the receptionist. If you’re having a bad day that’s fine, but don’t take it out on your customers. it was also blatantly obvious that I am young and received no regards whatsoever. I have to say i’m very disappointed. Im hoping the receptionist sees the review or it is brought to her attention as she really did throw her cloud of anger or whatever she was going through on me! Hoping for much better treatment when I return in the upcoming month so that I don’t have to write a review like this again.

Fantastic experience: Great care for Abbie, our 6 mths old Kouvasz. Had day surgery and I was given update and follow up care plan verbally from physician immediately post procedure. Also given same instruction on paper to refer to. Next day contacted by clinic as to how Abbie was doing. Was given take home medication to control her post op pain and allow her to remain calm and rest and sleep.

Fantastic experience: There amazing when I called explained my cat was having problems breathing and I tryed 4 other places they didn't hesitate and said come in. Turned out we had put my cat down. Very greatful for there compassion and caring towards me and my daughter.

Fantastic experience: Patient kind staff. Answered all my questions and were even open to my suggestions for treatment solutions for the growth on my dog’s ear. The week before i also had to euthanize my guinea pig and they were so very kind and their compassion showed so clearly. Well done. Amazing teams.

Fantastic experience: It was my first time taking my dog here and I could not say anything better about my visit! my dog was very very nervous but the vet and vet tech were incredible with her. They were patient and gave her lots of treats and made sure they did not traumatize her. I am beyond happy with my experience!
