Negative experience: On the positive note our cat was helped with the diagnosis from the doctor. The reason for the one star is the lack of compassion for the family and for the pet as well as the bedside manner of the clinic was non-existent. And when I called back to speak to the doctor to try to understand what happened I was told" do not put that on me" My suspicion was confirmed as much as they were able to diagnose the problem which they were handsomely paid for they have absolutely no compassion for the family or the pet.
Fantastic experience: Staff is friendly and good with my dog. She's terrified to go to the vet, but they always make her calm by the end of the visit. Ive seen people say they charge for tests you dont want... I never had that issue, I turned down tests with no backlash or judgement. The vet is kind and explains everything to me and is always understanding of finances and limits i set. The office is clean, the front ladies are lovely. They even fit me in today when I messed up my appointment date and time lol. All around, recommend. When my cat had to be put to sleep, they were so kind and helpful. Empathetic and ver accommodating. Been over a year and still love this vet office! The receptionists, vet techs and doctors are so awesome. Even my puppy likes going there

Negative experience: The front staff were nice up until they were whispering about my cat while I was sitting right in the waiting area, and I knew it was my cat as I was the only patient in at that time and as I came up to pay, I could see her in her carrier where the staff was looking and gossiping about my cat having blood in her urine, which is extremely unprofessional in my opinion, to discuss the animal in front of a worrying pet owner. As my cat went in for her blood work, I could hear her screaming bloody murder more than twice to the point she defecated and urinated on herself to which the staff didnt even clean her up, they put her in her carrier with her back end covered in urine. And now, almost 24 hours later, my cat is acting traumatized and won't stop meowing at our front door when one of us leaves since she thinks the vet is outside of the door. They also used 2x the amount for sedation and told us she would start feeling better in 2 hours, so around 6pm, my cat who is only 3lbs didn't start acting normal until 12 am nearly 8 hours after being sedated. The poor thing couldn't clean the spots I couldn't get for nearly 10 hours which could have lead to even more problems. I cant wait to see how they dismiss this negative comment considering that they cant identify which patient is in question and will claim some lie about how its my animals fault for their lack of trained professionals and dont hold themselves accountable for not having aforementioned staff that is properly trained since this business is NOT for animal care, this is a money grab situation. I will NEVER go back here and I would highly suggest that people stay away from here.

Front desk staff of our hospital is known for their good manners and compassion to both patients and their owners and despite confirming that there was no conversation about your cat we still brought this matter to our staff attention to be sure they maintain the highest level of professionalism. Sedation is kept as a last resort when there is a patient is not cooperating and pause a safety risk for the patient and/or staff. We do our best to keep the dose of sedative to the minimum required.

Negative experience: Ottawa Barrhaven Veterinary Hospital. I called explaining that my cat has advanced cancer, is in significant pain, and is having difficulty walking. I was very clear that I am facing serious financial hardship and was asking about low-cost euthanasia so my cat would not continue to suffer. The receptionist, Alana, showed no compassion, was rude, and initially refused to even provide a basic cost estimate for euthanasia. I had to plead desperately before she would give any information at all. At no point did I feel supported, guided, or treated with empathy during one of the most distressing moments a pet owner can face. I find this deeply troubling. Veterinary medicine is supposed to prioritize reducing animal suffering, especially in end-of-life situations. When an animal is terminally ill and in pain, and an owner is asking for help in good faith, compassion should not be optional. Death should not feel like a transaction, nor should people in crisis be made to feel dismissed or shamed because of finances. This experience left me sickened and heartbroken. I hope this clinic seriously reflects on how front-line staff communicate with people facing urgent, end-of-life decisions for their pets

Negative experience: So when we went here we were told a flat rate for each booster nothing about vet cost ,first visit was 400.00$. Second visit was snow storm stuck in traffic for 2 hrs to get there,called us asked us if we could come early,said we would try ended up being late 20min,clinic was open till 6 pm and vet left at 5 pm . It's okay for us to help you by coming early but not okay to help someone on the way. Worse experience ever,400.00$ was for less than 30 min and some dewormer that we gave are selves.

We tried to accomodate a 5-10 minutes late patient but when you did not show up we called and you have mentioned will be in another 15-20 minutes, with the doctor has other obligations we unfortunately could not accommodate 30 minutes delay.

Negative experience: It’s honestly disappointing how unaffordable basic blood work for animals has become. Being charged $500 for a test that takes minutes to perform and delivers results in under half an hour feels excessive and unreasonable. I would have gladly paid a fair price—$100, for example—for necessary diagnostics, but $500 is simply not accessible for many pet owners. When routine, essential care is priced this way, it makes it hard not to feel that animal well-being is taking a back seat to profit. Affordable, transparent pricing for basic services would go a long way in showing that animals truly are a priority.

For a senior sick patient that has not visit the vet in 17 years , the least we can start with is a basic blood work and the price of that test was quoted to you is less than 50% of what you are claiming in your review.
We welcome feedback but can not let disinformation go unanswered.
Negative experience: Generic vet. But they won't let me be in the same room with my dog when they give him his shots. This gives my dog unnecessary anxiety and me cuz what are you doing in the other room? I've been to another vet and they just examined and gave my dog the shots while I was holding him. I read another review that said I the owner wasnt allowed to be with his dog for his final moments.... I wont do that. I would walk out and find another vet. So I will be looking for a new vet.

Negative experience: ANIMAL ABUSE! I’m shocked. ABSOLUTELY SHOCKED! I was told I’d be paying maybe 100$-200$ a kitten and walked out with 800$ bill. My kittens were recently treated for heart worm, parasites etc… they shoved more meds into my hands forcing me to pay more than bargained for. They refused to take the rescues vaccination records seriously, claiming I’ll need to do extras cause of this. Then took my 4 month old kittens away from me into the back to vaccinate them… they were traumatized. This isn’t their first vaccine… I’ve watched them get a vaccine done, they abused my 4 month old kittens, my poor baby has a leg bruise… I could’ve held her down, I’m reporting this buisness as it’s malpractice and I have recorded animal abuse with police.

We do not abuse animals here as everybody on our team is a true animal lover and we own animals ourselves. As for you are upset about your bill and we would like to explain what could have happened as we don’t have enough information to find your file. When you call the hospital asking for an estimate you will be provided with the basic services like consultation and vaccines cost, but if the patient has a medical condition or requires any additional service like deworming it will be quoted to you in a detailed estimate and you can decline or consent to proceed with it.
We can’t be more transparent than providing our clients with a detailed written estimate for each and every visit to our hospital.

Fantastic experience: On one of the worst days of our lives (we had to put our cat of 9 years down the same morning) our other cat started to act strange. Some would say it was depression but we wanted to be proactive even though we had already spent thousands on vet bills the same week. The staff here were so kind about our situation and took good care of Lilo. As soon as we brought her home she was feeling a little better. It’s still a journey from here but thank you to the all the staff and doctor for their help last minute on Christmas Eve.

Negative experience: Horrible experience. STAY AWAY! Firstly, they try to take your dog to the back to do the vaccines (unheard of), thank god I said no because after reading these reviews apparently dogs are heard screaming from the back. They gave my puppy who had never been outside due to having no shots FLEAS and told me it’s impossible that she got fleas there even though she had never been anywhere other than home. My larger dog is dog reactive and they had initially agreed to provide him gabapentin and trazodone as sedatives for a vet visit and then just texted me never mind because I’m portraying him to be aggressive. I was responsible and honest about his need for no on leash interaction with other dogs. This is a very common concern pet owners have and I’m shocked they would deny seeing a muzzled dog only leash reactive pet after introducing fleas to my home. I want preventative meds for my older dog and treatment for my puppy due to this incident and they refuse to rectify the situation. On top of this Dr. kamat was rude during my appointment- my friend noticed the same and mentioned it before I even said anything. STAY AWAY!!!

Fantastic experience: I am happy to write this review after visiting this clinic! When I inquired if I could have an appointment in two days time at a specific time, I was accommodated. My third time visiting a vet concerning my dogs, bloodshot eyes, attributed to allergies. Even the specialist at the Alta Vista animal hospital said it was allergies. Dr. Kamat was a blessing to finally figure out the problem, stating it was an infection, not only in the eyes, but in the ears. Ongoing ear issue was apparently from yeast, yet previous vets did not treat them as an infection. Naturally, the problem progressively got worse and in desperation, I called this place because they had great reviews. The amount of experience in this one doctor far exceeds the two previous vets I had visited for my dog. To say, I’m thrilled that I found this. Dr. is an understatement. While, I love my existing vet, I quickly asked to be accepted by this vet because he is amazing and I know he is the best choice for my dog. I’m also very impressed with the support staff, especially Sabrina! These people are definitely people persons care deeply about dogs, animals, and their owners, Equally!

Fantastic experience: Very nice staff! Very attentive and caring- good communication about upcoming appointments. They are doing the best they can during Covid-but that means you cannot go into the office and have to meet them at the door. Fantastic experience: Brought my dog here for the first time and the staff were so incredibly nice and helpful, my dog normally is very antsy around new people but she immediately was ok with all the stuff and the vet, they were so gentle with her and we figured out what was wrong with her within 30 minutes! My cat had a history of being reactive at other vets and I told them this, and they approached him very kindly and gently and he didn’t react at all! They were very quick yet thorough, booked me in the day after I called, and have very reasonable prices compared to other places. If we need vet services again, we will be back!

Negative experience: If there is an option of negative stars this place deserves it. This hospital seems nice with their low consult fee, but will charge you every other possible fees they can come up with, and if you want to hear your pet screaming non stop in the back of the hall while you wait outside becuase they do their vacine shots in the back, and you are not allowed to be in the room with your pet, this is the place to go. Will quote the law non stop for fees but refuse to show any documentation whatsoever, while other vets all say otherwise. The most disrespectful, unprofessional, cold blooded money grabbing vet in Ottawa there is.
Negative experience: Extremely Disappointed – Terrible Experience I had a very upsetting and frustrating experience at Barrhaven Animal Hospital. Prior to the visit, I specifically asked for an estimate of the cost and explained my concerns. I was told the total for my visit would be around $215, which included $90 for the initial visit and an additional $34 for each vaccination. However, when I arrived, they quickly pressured me into paying nearly $950 for various services I hadn’t agreed to or been informed about. It felt like they were trying to corner me into paying more than what I had originally anticipated. This kind of behavior is not only unprofessional but downright unethical. I understand veterinary care can be expensive, but this experience was absolutely ridiculous and left me feeling taken advantage of. I will not be returning to this clinic and strongly urge others to think twice before trusting them with your pets. Do not go to this clinic.

Fantastic experience: I brought both of my cats in recently and was so impressed by the level of care, compassion, and professionalism from the entire team. The staff were kind, gentle, and incredibly patient with one of ours cats that especially anxious. Fantastic experience: The vet here took my dog in for an emergency visit when her vet could not see her. After extensive testing, he came back with the diagnosis I suspected. There is no upselling or unnecessary tests. We are now staying with this clinic.

Fantastic experience: We had an excellent visit with the doctor Kamal today. He took care of our little kitten with the utmost care. We drove all the way from Orleans because the service that we received is no less than any vet here, but the prices are much more fair. The doctor gave us a breakdown of all the costs before doing anything and asked if we agreed and then proceeded. There were no surprise surprises and we weren’t being sold on things we did not need. I will definitely be going back and I definitely recommend this clinic.

Negative experience: I called 12 vet clinics this morning and explained everything to Barrhaven Animal Hospital vet clinic, they made us seem welcome and that we would be taken care of at an affordable price. I was quoted that an emergency visit would be 90dollars, and the vet offered no valuable information, the visit took 4 minutes. I left embarrassed and helpless. The front desk staff was talking about policy and testing prices; a completely different level of communication and accommodation than when I spoke to them on the phone. I spent over an hour in transit to get to the clinic and my pet got no care. No effort was made to help, we were pushed out in under 10 minutes.

Fantastic experience: Called and was quickly fit in with a day and time that worked for my schedule. Brought my cat in and saw Dr.Kamat. Dr and staff were friendly, informative and quick. Great treatment plan provided and explanation of next steps if needed. My cat can be spicy and isn't always the best patient, but they were fantastic with him. Allowed me to help to ensure my cat was comfortable and they never pushed him if it wasn't necessary. Will absolutely be coming back and recommend to others. Negative experience: It has taken me two months to post this review. I have never had to "calm down" to write a review. Dr. Kamat ( although even calling him a doctor pains me) is one of those vets that is all about money. Where to start? Our usual vet ( whose wonderful) is on the QB side, so we decided for our kitten's first round of standard vaccines it was safe to bring him somewhere closer to home. First red flag, this so called vet insisted on bringing our kitten to an area which we weren't permitted to give him his vaxxes. It is unheard of to tear these frightened little babies away from their humans. When questioned, he blew us off rudely and not really giving us a straight answer. We could hear our baby crying and I was in tears because I couldn't hold him or be with him. Now when we look back we realize just how shady this was. Did he even give him the vaxxes? Next issue. We were moving overseas and needed documents from the Canadian Food Inspection Agency. In order for them to file the papers, they needed all our kitten's vax info and a full health report. We had already done the examination with our regular vet in Alymer and paid $200 for it. The CFIA told us we would have to go back and get the batch and info number for the vaxxes from "Dr" Kamat. I was racing around the city trying to get everything in order before we left. I arrived at the vet and all he had to do was give me the info on the vax and sign it. He refused to do it, citing he had to be the one to do the examination the agency required. When he realized there was no money in it for him, literally under two mins of his time, he turned his back on me and walked away smugly. I was in tears and clearly stressed but he could NOT CARE LESS. Without that batch number and his signature, there was no way I could get the papers. Our regular vet was appalled he wouldn't do that for us and tried to help us by calling their office requesting the info. They sent it to her convienently omitting the batch number. We had to slap on a smile, play nice and suck up another $380 for him to take 2 mins with our cat and agree he was indeed healthy to travel. We were at his mercy. Once he examined the cat and he got the money in his greedy little hands he was happy to sign our documents. Even slapping on a nonsense "biohazard waste disposal fee" when all he did was look at him. Our vet in Quebec felt so bad when she heard this, she refunded our money for his health check. That is the difference between a vet who actually cares and a vet who is only concerned about money and more money. Both she and the CIFA confirmed a second examination was not needed. My other issue is that the front desk staff are always miserable. Go ahead and call see what kind of attitude you get. But then again, I would be miserable too if he was my boss. They are like scared little puppies when he is around. I read a review below where a girl was absolutely devastated he wouldn't let her stay with her dog while he euthanized him. That is UNHEARD of. He should have lost his license for that alone. If you are an animal lover like we are, please take heed to what we are telling you. There are plenty of other great vets in the Barrhaven area. I know he will come back at us with some lies he had to see our cat to do the papers or "they can't find our file" but we did our homework. Or the ole "fake review" because people don't have anything better to do than write untrue reviews. UPDATE* As predicted here he is gaslighting. THE EXAMINATION WAS DONE, JUST NOT BY YOU the DAY BEFORE. That vet was waiting to sign the document in that section. So stop spewing the "law" to me. I didn't ask for a"free examination". In order to obtain travel health certificate the pet needs to be examined within 10 days of travel time and the doctor needs to sign the travel form on the examination day (no more than 10 days before your travel time). You tried getting the doctor sign and hand you the forms without examining the patient which is against the law and neither our doctor nor any other licensed veterinarian will accept to do that. These service comes with cost and the fact that you wanted them to be free could not be accomodated. We will not respond to your personal attack on the doctor and his staff.
Fantastic experience: I can't say enough good things about Barrbaven animal hospital! The entire team is compassionate, knowledgeable, and truly dedicated to the well-being of my puppy. Dr. Kamat took the time to thoroughly explain everything and made sure my puppy felt comfortable throughout the visit. Negative experience: I am beyond furious with the absolutely disgraceful treatment our pet received from Dr. Kamat at the Barrhaven clinic. Our beloved pet had a broken jaw, and instead of offering the care and solutions we desperately needed, Dr. Kamat was shockingly cold, rude, and completely unprofessional. He didn’t even try to help—his immediate response was to suggest putting our pet down, as if their life meant nothing! There was no attempt to find affordable surgery options or any real alternative. His laziness and total lack of compassion were staggering. Dealing with him was an absolute nightmare. If you care about your pet, stay far away from Dr. Kamat. This man should not be trusted with anyone’s animal.

Although we can't locate your file, but wanted to clarify that the only patient that we saw with a fractured jaw was referred to a speciality clinic for treatment. Some conditions are not candidates for general practice treatments and will need to be handled by a board certified specialists.

Negative experience: This vet is an absolute money grab. Their consultation fee isn’t too high, BUT they require to see your pet every 6 MONTHS! Everywhere else in the country it’s 1 year. Meaning, if you just saw them 7 months ago, you need to repay the consultation fee to see them again FOR THE SAME THING. Never had a heartless horrible money hungry vet like this before. Literally called for the same allergy meds as last summer, and got the bs reply of “we don’t know what it is and need a consultation” to top it all off, every one of the staff is incredibly rude. Run, and don’t look back with this place. They also got me to spend 1.5k on random unnecessary tests when I first switched to them. And after all that I need to pay more to refill a prescription.

Negative experience: My dog was sick. They gave him medication They told me that it would help make him better, he died two days later and then they got mad because I missed the appointment that I had booked for him 4 days after that Missed an appointment while my dog was dying Staff was rude and ignorant, I did call to cancel, but the lady hung up on me because she was too rude on the phone, while I was literally trying to explain that I couldn’t come in because the dog was actually dead now They have closed my file, so none of my pets can go. Luckily, there’s a better vet by my house call Brittania veterinary clinic They are fairly busy, but they are much better kind sweet and affordable I would highly recommend them.!

Booking for multiple times and cancelling without notification or not showing for appointments several times disrupts our schedule and forfeit appoitment times for pets in need to be seen. We try to be patient as circumstances may change and last minute cancellation can happen but frequent no shows or cancellation without notifcations will result in closing the file.

Fantastic experience: Dr Nasir Kamat and staff are very professional, I’m very happy with the outcome of service I had gotten for my little Dog Layla, who I had recently rescued. She’s a 9 yrs old Maltese with very bad teeth which she required teeth extraction and cleaning. The procedure went really well, within a few days I seen a big difference, Layla is doing very well she is no longer in pain. Fantastic experience: Great service! I walked in with my baby boy without appointment, and they accommodated my needs right away without any delay. The Dr was also very professional and provided me with a clear treatment plan and thorough explanation. This made me feel sad about my another dog who didn't receive immediately care from another hospital and passed away. I regretted that I didn't not know this hospital earlier. Fantastic experience: Currently on my first pet-parent journey with my sweet almost-one-year-old cat, Tilley, and Dr. Kamat was awesome! Negative experience: ***PLEASE READ BEFORE BRINGING YOUR PET HERE*** TLDR: this is not an affordable vet in Barrhaven. It is not normal for your pet to be separated from you for vaccinations. I decided to choose this animal hospital after calling all of the vet offices in Barrhaven and getting quotes. This office quoted me $79 for the exam + $29 for the first vaccine. I read the reviews beforehand and decided to give this office the benefit of the doubt due to pricing which I regret. To begin, the quote I was given was completely inaccurate. When the bill came, I was excepting around $150 like every other office is Barrhaven, and was handed a bill for almost $300 with no explanation. The Doctor Dr. Nasir Kamat looked at my kitten for maybe a total of 2 minutes. Asked me what food she eats and then provided me with the bill with no explanation at all. He opted me in for optional vaccines (FeLV) which is used to protect outdoor cats from feline leukemia. The doctor did not even bother to ask if my cat is outdoor, or if I have any other animals who could pass this virus to her. I was opted in for flea and tick prescription as well, when my kitten came from a family members cat who is also 100% indoor and has never had or come into contact with fleas or ticks. It was clear to me that this doctor’s practice is very predatory, and he is taking advantage of young pet owners assuming we won’t ask questions or know how vet offices typically work. The absolute worst part of all was being separated from my 8 week old kitten for her vaccine. I have had MANY pets in my life and been to MANY vet offices around Ottawa and have NEVER been separated from my pet for a vaccine. I’d like to add here my 8 week old kitten was 2 pounds and obviously not aggressive enough that she needed to be caged. While she was in the back room getting her vaccine they forced us to wait in the waiting room and listen to her scream behind a closed door. I left this veterinary office feeling sick to my stomach with regret bringing my pet there. Please read and believe the reviews before trusting these people with your beloved pet.

Negative experience: This has taken me almost one year to say something about this situation that happened to us in July 2023. We had to say goodbye to my beautiful german shepherd. It was very heartbreaking and traumatic for me. When it came time to go ahead with the euthanasia, they absolutely refused to allow me to stay in the room with her to say goodbye. I was in such shock about it and still till this day feel guilty about not being with her for those final moments. I still don’t understand why they wouldn’t let me stay with her till the end . I am left to remember telling her how sorry I was when they shut the door on me , that was the final moment I last seen her . I wish I could go back and would have fought for her and put my foot down to be by her side during her last breath. It was cruel to have not aloud us in the room with her . Any person who has experienced pet loss knows how important those last moments are , and for me to not have been able to have those breaks my heart till this day .

Negative experience: A friend took her sick pet in for accessment and when quoted a price from treatment and her hesitation for immediate admittance, the vet she was speaking with told her "Well. If we can't afford pet care, maybe we shouldn't have pets." This callous and insensitive statement was made to a single mother who works retail/customer service and had an unexpected expense to her tight budget. Would not recommend this clinic if they lack the compassion and empathy for speaking with people in an already emotionally delicate state. I recommend all the doctors and staff in site undergo sensitivity training before accepting new patients.

Negative experience: Dr Kamat was quick to take us in, very appreciative of that, did thorough blood work and X-rays (expensive) but needed- I wish the the doctor would have let us know that given the age of the cat, restoration of it’s health was difficult if not impossible . And the expensive medication prescribed was ineffective for number of reasons - especially the heart medication (it was futile because of the cat’s age) we found out later, and may have done more harm than help. When our cat collapsed, 6 days later, after this visit and the medication, we sought another vet’s opinion, who didn’t prescribe unnecessary treatment or medication but was focused on keeping the cat comfortable as it died the same day.
Fantastic experience: Dr.Kamat helped me out with my cat in a quick and professional manner. The front desk staff and nurses were also incredibly helpful and very quick but thorough. We were in and out within an hour and a half with all the medicine we needed, treatment instructions, and vaccines. All for a very good price. Would highly recommend due to their professionalism, friendliness, speed, and affordability for students like myself. 10/10, would give 6 stars if I could.

Positive experience: I'm grateful there was a opening sooner than any other vet for our new kitten. Vet was very informative and very friendly and Fastest vet I've ever been to with any pet in 50 years-yes attended vet appointments with my family since a young child, had pets our entire life. Does his speed make him unprofessional, I do not believe so... after all there was a longer wait time for an appointment at every other vet I called, and a few not taking new patients. Very glad I took our newly adopted rescue kitty as she had tons of ear mites and an eye infection... however the sweep your pet away into placed into a back room cage while vet speaking with me quickly was weird and uncomfortable for me and perhaps even my new kitty suddenly being somewhere with barking dogs etc. This is definitely something I was not accustomed to, that is when he reviewed and had me sign a cost breakdown assessment and meds sheet... so, if I didn't agree to it was he going to keep my kitty? Obviously I did sign off on the cost breakdown and agreed to meds needed to treat her and am there to help her and share my concerns i've noticed with the Vet BUT must it be done in this manner? I have never experienced this is my life. Then I am pretty sure what he said in the room needed doing for 10 days, but the meds dispenser assistant said a different number of days, and the receptionist said a different number of days, I requested info please be confirmed with the Vet before I leave. The assistant you could tell didn't like me questioning her and stopped to deal with me, not saying thank you or bye when we were done and left... I am grateful the Vet came into the lobby briefly to confirm treatment days which were different than what she relayed to me, but so slightly changed from what he originally said in the room... but also longer duration as I recalled, which was different from what the assistant and receptionist said. Was Vet also as rushed with his assistant telling her just name if meds/treatment bottles and she told me standard treatment vs what he said in room, vs what he said to me in lobby? Perhaps that was the issue, perhaps if he wanted kitty treated longer with it he should have alsp told her the treatment plan? I don't know, I'm just assuming because he was quite quick drive through vet type feeling in the room. However, if her would not have been that way, like the other places, there would have probably been a much longer wait to get an appointment... so...its a catch 22 right? After I paid my bill they brought my kitten back - yes - kinda weird feeling... perhaps they should do like other vets when I called around looking for an earlier opening and requested a $125. Prepayment by telephone... then that entire get your pet back after you pay feeling may not have been so weird. I think the vet was very knowledgeable, and professional, and kind, and concerned for patients good health... I appreciate when I mentioned I'm concerned I've noticed a morning cough in my kitten that he listened to her chest a second time on each lung individually for a moment to confirm she sounded fine vs only the initial listen once in the middle of her chest super quickly. He also showed me on a plastic mold how to do the drops... which although realistic, isn't... because it's not on my actual pet which In my lifetime was shown to me in my actual pet by the vet in the room. Perhaps because he knew kittens hate drops in their ears and it would fight it etc. And didn't want to get into the struggle and give how to hold her techniques? Because I think this could not be done with 1 person alone like when your home alone but you need a helper. Etc. I know kittens and puppies get a series of different vaccinations at different ages till they are older then get their annual shots as needed that are due, so the vaccination stuff was not an issue. Trust me, I felt very much like the Veterinarian was extremely well knowledgeable and knew his job, I just think perhaps the rushed feeling has to be slowed down a bit & the swoshing off with pet method adjusted.

Negative experience: Terrible experience (about a year ago). I'm writing this super late because it's been about a year since my first visit, and I'm now looking for a new vet. I'm sorry, but the front desk staff looked like zombies - absolutely no life in them. I still am shocked by the energy in that office. The vet came off as being all about money, rushed me, and was extremely short and rude. The only positive was the worker who came to pick up my cat in her carrier when I left her there. They seemed to be human-like and had positive energy. Whoever they were - you made a difference and you should be rewarded. Hopefully, it was just a bad day for almost everyone working at this hospital, and the owner has taken a few notes from prior reviews including this one since then.
Fantastic experience: READ THIS BEFORE YOU VISIT! If you're looking through all the reviews before taking your animal to the vet and you're feeling nervous, I felt the exact same way. Before I continue, keep in mind that generally speaking, people don't often write positive reviews regarding their experiences but others will rush home and write a terrible review if they had a negative experience. Some people do have a bad experience but that could be said about literally any business/clinic. We are not living in a perfect system. Things happen. With all that to say, Dr. Nasir was not only extremely gentle and kind to my cat, Sushi, but he even went the extra mile and made his own anti-bacterial solution for me free of charge to put on my cats chin acne along with an entire package of gauze. He was professional, soft spoken, extremely sympathetic and welcoming. So were his assistants and receptionists. Him and his assistant explained all the charges to me and what they will do to help improve my cats chin infection as well. I was so stressed out before coming to the clinic but all the staff and Dr. Nasir made my day with their professionalism. They have over 7 thousand returning patients and continue to get more as the years go on. I was charged a reasonable amount for my visit considering this was an emergency. Pets are expensive and cost money, people! Prepare to spend money on them. If you cannot afford animals, then please reconsider getting them. They need care and attention just like we do.

Our dog needed an assessment and required antibiotics and a special shampoo. This cost 715$. Merry Christmas. Were moving to a different clinic. Negative experience: We rushed our boxer in who suddenly had paralyzed legs. We were charged over $1000 to be told he has chlorine in his blood, and gave us pills and sent us on our way. When returning home we felt totally helpless and very confused. our dog couldn’t walk, was screaming in pain and was urinating blood. Went to the Orleans animal hospital the next morning for a second opinion and they said it was very clear and obvious that it was a blood clot and he was paralyzed. We were told this in minutes and was charged a lot less money. We lost our fur baby that day, and we couldn’t be more disappointed with the service we received at this hospital. I even asked if this could be a blood clot as it seems likely to me. I was told no, he has a disc dengeration disease and would likely improve over time. Also, I had 2 vets look at his blood work and both confirmed there was no high level of chlorine in his blood.
Negative experience: I called to get a quote for my kitten’s initial vaccines and was told $78. When I actually came in to get them done the vet handed me an invoice for $245. Not only is this price ridiculous and way higher than most other vets but lying about the price to customers getting a quote is incredibly deceptive. The receptionists were incredibly kind and I know it’s not their fault. Whoever the owner is that sets these deceptive practices is gross. I would recommend Crossing Bridge Vet going forward- they are honest with their quote.
Fantastic experience: This was the best experience for my husband and I. We have been searching the city for a new veterinarian for our cat and dog. Our previous vet was over priced in our minds (after doing some research on other places across the city). We tried a few places, but this place is the one. Very clean facilities, welcoming staff and a wonderful, knowledgeable and compassionate vet, Dr. Kamat. We brought our cat in for suspected feline asthma and they were able to provide us with an appointment same day. Dr. Kamat spent a lot of time with us, explaining everything and even took time to answer questions regarding our dog who wasn't even there with us. I have also never seen our cat as calm as she was with Mr. Kamat. In addition, the prices here are extremely reasonable. The cost of our exam, tests and medication were cheaper than if we had just the tests done at out previous vet! We live about 25 mins away from this location, however it is worth it for the quality of care and services. Thank you!

Fantastic experience: We have had to have our two cats assessed for various things in the past year by Dr. Kamat and the quality of care delivered by every member of the staff is nothing short of being truly exceptional. Dr. Kamat and his staff always take their time to answer my anxious questions in laymen terms with unrelenting patience. The entire team is so kind and professional and has never been judgmental or condescending. Their practice has never recommended or pushed anything unreasonable to us that are outside of practice guidelines. All treatment proposals are always given in print with a price and explanation before we give consent. The best part of their practice is that they do genuinely outstanding followup care and ongoing teaching. Honestly, we have total confidence that this clinic will look after our cats as if they are their own for years to come.
