Since coming to Southpaw, she has received phenomenal care and is no longer fearful. She actually makes herself quite comfortable there now. It’s very clear that the staff genuinely care about the wellbeing of every pet and will go above and beyond to help them feel safe. After an emergency last year, we’ve spent a lot of time at Southpaw while Bella receives acupuncture treatments. Dr. Krista has been amazing throughout the entire process. You truly couldn’t ask for a better group of people to care for your pet. Bella says they’re absolutely paw-tastic!

Expérience fantastique: I got to the appointment, went to sit down to wait and they said right away, come on in. We went in the room and it wasn't long before the vet came in. He took my cat , before I knew it , he was putting my cat back in her carrier. He spoke with me for a little while and I said when are you going to give my cat her needles and he said, I did. I was dumbfounded. I never even noticed. After all the worry I had, it was done just like that, snap. They were all wonderful to deal with.

Now that they are in their senior years and require extra attention, I know they will continue to be cared for with the same dedication and compassion.

Expérience fantastique: I started using South Paw when I adopted a Ca-R-Ma kitty in 2015 as they had been his point of contact. They have always handled everything with so much dignity and grace. The staff is incredible. Dr. Shannon Lewis had overseen my animals prior to her passing, and had grown a bond with my kitties but even after I trusted every vet we saw. I made a decision to say goodbye to my sick kitty, and it just solidified they will always be my vet of choosing. Dr. Foreman facilitated dental surgery a few years ago with the upmost care, and today Dr. Camilleri helped me say goodbye to my sweet angel. I would never choose another vet if I can help it, especially with such an amazing tech and reception crew. I was so scared of how my baby would be handled after he passed, but they gave me the confidence to grieve without anything else.

Expérience fantastique: Our puppy Gus recently had some surgery at Southpaw Animal Hospital and he did amazing! From the time we took him in till we picked him up later in the day he was given so much love and attention from the entire staff that he saw that day. They took the time to follow up the next day to make sure he was still doing ok shows how much they care about their patients. Our boy max(RIP 2025) was just a few months shy of his 17th birthday was a patient at Southpaw for almost his entire life and it was because of the care he received we wanted Gus to go there as well. ❤️❤️

Highly recommend if you’re looking for a vet clinic that you can trust the care of your animals with!

As he aged further he began having bad seizures and wasn’t very well so we made the painful decision to put him down at south paw. All of the staff were so caring and supportive. We still have our ink nose and paw prints. Such a thoughtful touch.

Expérience négative: Is the reason why a bunch of people now have to go to St. John after hours. Not impressed To edit this review further in response to southpaws reply, I was aware that there is a new emergent care from 12pm-12am in Fredericton, While I have no complaints on their service, Their fees are significantly more than what was available to pay prior to southpaw dropping out. I understand everyone has lives, and that many didn't want to work after hours at your location but you left us with more expensive bills to use the new location and with short notice. It also leaves us to have to go to St. john after midnight. You and the other two entities were the only trio of vet companies left in the entire city working with each other that were helping us not have to fly by night to St. John. So while I appreciate your answer, this is still upsetting to find out. The other 2 facilities are still bouncing back and forth with each other to still provide after hours from Monday to Thursday to help the fact you no longer are partaking. I know you may not like my response but I can't help how I feel about it and many were left not knowing why the sudden change happened in November.

My cat Hazel, was exposed to a toxic substance and we rushed her in - no appointment … just literally DROVE TO THE VET! ~ they took her and Krista Foreman took care of her (brought her home with her for 2 nights) … thank you so much to EVERYONE :) xx The Spilman’s

Expérience négative: Went to the clinic as an emergency as an out of town visitor. Nothing was done for my dog, the vet was baffled on the pain. My vet tech friend took one look at a picture and gave a highly like probability diagnosis. I started a routine for healing until I found another vet open on the Monday. My dog has a herniated disk in her neck, symptoms had started that morning. Upon educating myself, they were classic telling signs of the issue. The problem is, it can be fatal as hers is a calcification and is actually a risk of severing her spinal cord. I know I wasn't a regular client, but one looking for answers on the road. The Dr I saw was 14yrs of experience and I feel this should not have been something they missed.

Expérience fantastique: My puppy Tribble had a great first experience here! The front room is wide open and has colouring for kids and a fun spinny chair lol. My 3yo was well entertained. The staff were super friendly and even let my daughter listen to her puppy's heart which was beautiful. Great experience they also do bearded dragons!

Expérience fantastique: One of the best practices I've found, these folks have taken very, very good care of me and my family. We had a scare at the beginning of this year where we thought we were going to lose my 13 year old cat, and because of the expertise of the whole team and their ability to work with other practices, my cat is still with me and doing well. When we've had emergencies they've been amazing, understanding, and have taken good care of us. It's also very reassuring that they are able to work on exotic pets. We've had them look out for our cats and turtle and snake. Dr. Mann, Dr. Legge, and everyone at Southpaw have my gratitude and trust, and I highly recommend them.

Expérience négative: Disgusting practice! A friend of ours brought a dog we used to own but gave to them in to have her put down as she was going completely blind and began biting the children. They left the vet crying as she was a big part of the family and was with them for a few years and went home. The next day, my mother in law receives a notice that the chip we had installed in her has been picked up at the SPCA! She was not dead and was sitting at the SPCA. How can a vet do this to someone?? They ended up going today and picking her up. This is disgusting and the police will be notified.

Expérience négative: My brother and sister-in-law took their dog there, the dog was dying and all they could talk about was how they were getting paid! My sister-in-law had to leave the room and go outside because she couldn't bear to be in the room and some girl run out and kept asking her how she was getting paid and where she worked. I thought they could have waited until the dog was euthanized. Very cold and uncaring, we won't be going back!!
