Expérience fantastique: I took my Max to the Animal Cancer Centre after he was diagnosed with cancer, and I can’t express enough how grateful I am for the care he received. From our very first appointment, the staff was incredibly compassionate and understanding. What impressed me the most was Dr. Williams’ thoroughness and attention to detail. She explained the treatment options clearly and ensured I felt informed and empowered to make decisions about Max’s health. The atmosphere was always calm and welcoming, which made the entire experience much more pleasant. Vicky was the amazing vet tech that was part of Max’s journey at OVC. Vicky had a way of connecting with Max that calmed his nerves. Whether she was gently checking his vitals or reassuring him during a procedure, her patience and kindness made a world of difference. We’re so grateful for her support and compassion during a challenging time. Max passed away peacefully yesterday evening, surrounded by loved ones who cherished him. Max was more than just a dog he was a loyal companion and a cherished part of my life. A heartfelt thank you is extended to everyone who was part of Max's journey.

Expérience négative: Negligent Malpractice. Super disappointed with this place. My cat has been suffering from digestion issues and I was referred here from my vet. A run of tests were done for the cost of ~$2000 initially. I was emailed a detailed report of results but everything was inconclusive. I was asked to bring her back for another round of tests for $950. I have not heard back since picking her up over a month ago. So after spending ~$3000, I am at square one. No recommendations, nothing. All the staff were polite, but I feel robbed. No follow up, but they're happy to begin bugging you for payment 1 day after being sent the invoice. Update Jan18th 2026: Received an email only after leaving this review. Was told I would be given an update and results I paid for later that afternoon of Nov 11, 2025. I never received anything. Attempted following up on Jan 3rd and have not heard back once again. I finally recieved a response only after filing a chargeback but it was too late. I was able to rush her in on Jan 26th to finally get the medication she should have been on while still relatively healthy, but she passed only hours after the visit. This is genuine malpractice. 4 months of pure neglect.

Expérience négative: My six-year-old Pomeranian died in unnecessary, immense suffering due to a lack of timely emergency intervention. Despite him being relatively stable, they proceeded with an invasive exploratory abdominal surgery for biopsy. The surgical consent process was fundamentally flawed. It was handled by a rotating intern who lacked case knowledge, provided no risk disclosure, and offered no alternative options. They promises that Internal Medicine or Anesthesia would call before proceeding, but I received no such communication and could not reach the team. I was only notified after the surgery was already completed. Three additional organs were sampled without my consent. Post-operative communication was equally non-existent. We had to insist on meeting a resident, who didn't even know if sutures needed removal. We were sent home without a discharge or surgical report, and told to "use our own judgment" on medication. Unsurprisingly, he was rushed back to the ER just 24 hours later. After surgery, my dog developed extensive bruising and later gastrointestinal bleeding—an entirely foreseeable and preventable outcome. No perioperative precautions were taken to address his known bleeding disorder, either before or after surgery, and steroid was administered, further increasing bleeding risk. Medical records later revealed multiple medication and treatment errors, including overdosing of pain medications, repeated administration of incorrect ophthalmic medications, and use of sedative drugs to which my dog had known allergies. On his final day, by 3:00 PM, my dog already showed pale mucous membranes, vocalization during respiration, and a CRP level that had skyrocketed from 12 to 153, with a PCV of 29. Despite these alarming indicators and a "Level 4" hospitalization charge of thousands of dollars per day, he was kept without any continuous monitoring equipment. The hospital’s internal review later shockingly claimed that these clinical signs only required "monitoring" rather than active intervention. During the 6 p.m. communication, the doctor did not inform us of any of these changes. He still claimed that our dog was stable and that all vital signs were normal. By 6:20 PM, when we entered the ICU, he was already in hemorrhagic shock. We immediately alerted the veterinary student, who REFUSED to notify a doctor, insisting “this might be a trend,” resulting in an approximately 30-minute delay. When a resident arrived, no appropriate medical intervention were undertaken. The resident stated that “my dog would not survive the night” and recommended euthanasia without explaining the cause or potential treatment options. First it was 'wait and see,' then a delayed response, and now it's 'too late.' Was the plan always just to let my dog suffer in the ICU until the end? Subsequently, the recorded time of death and multiple entries in the medical communication log did not align with the actual sequence of events. They also withheld critical medical records, including the surgical report, pathology report, EEG report, and visit summaries. Despite repeated requests, none were provided while he was alive. We received them only weeks after his death, after escalating to the CVO, preventing us from understanding his condition or the basis for medical decisions in real time. We spent over $20,000 on extensive testing, yet no clear diagnosis or effective treatment plan was ever established. After over a week of "intensive care", his condition only spiraled downward. Worse, our most basic rights as owners—to be informed and to make decisions—were repeatedly and systematically denied. For a teaching hospital, this represents a profound failure of transparency, accountability, and basic standards of patient care. They appeared to prioritize training and research over patient welfare. P.S. Just to be clear, aside from the issues described above, many doctors from other departments were truly excellent and consistently did their best to support his wellbeing over the years.

Expérience fantastique: Never easy to have to come to a place like this without family . However, they made the process as comfortable as they can . Just wish the wait wasn’t so long to get in for the actual appointment. They did move fast once we got in but the wait wasn’t the toughest part

Expérience fantastique: We took our four year-old cocker spaniel there who was having terrible problems with pancreatitis and a foreign object in your stomach . The doctors and the staff were just fantastic. The updates that the doctor gave every day were very detailed and made assured us that they were doing everything they could for our little girl.

Expérience négative: Our dog was taken to OVC for what was supposed to be a diagnostic procedure, but it ended in tragedy. Before surgery, we repeatedly informed the team that our dog had a known bleeding disorder (vWD Type 1) and a heart condition. These risks were clearly documented in his medical record, yet none of them were disclosed to us as factors that could make surgery unsafe. Instead, the procedure was described as being “as simple as a routine spay.” Despite this, the surgeons proceeded and expanded the biopsy scope without our consent, taking additional samples from three more organs. This unapproved expansion significantly increased the risk of internal bleeding, something we were never told about or asked to authorize. Communication throughout the hospitalization was also deeply concerning. Visit summaries and critical information were not provided in a timely manner, and many key reports only began to arrive one to three weeks after our dog had already passed away. This lack of transparency left us completely unaware of important findings while our dog was still alive and under their care. Twelve days later, our dog suffered fatal internal bleeding. This was not a life-saving surgery — it was supposed to be diagnostic only — and it cost him his life. We trusted OVC because it is a teaching hospital, but this experience revealed a profound lack of caution, compassion, and transparency. Our dog deserved better.

Expérience négative: Communication between doctors and students is extremely disorganized, everyone says something different. They promise to call but never do. It’s completely irresponsible and has caused delays in treatment. The resident and student themselves didn’t even seem to know what they were doing while suggesting more and more tests. One student even said that performing additional tests could help their academic research and also “help my cat.” I am paying for medical care, not to be part of someone’s study. Please put the patient’s well-being first!

Expérience négative: Follow up with this place is unacceptable. Original visit with the diagnosis of Cancer went well with them however our dog would have pasted away before we even received a phone call from Oncology. Called emergency when her health seriously declined to be told we would receive a call back right away from the doctor, never received that phone call! Took her to our emerge vet who helped us keep her healthy until we could get her to Chemo. Got her in with another oncologist in 2 days after 2 weeks of waiting for OVC. Called to finalize our bill as they owe us money back (over $2000) 1 week ago told we would get a call back if we could pick up the check, again never received a phone call back. Called 1 week later to be told it is still being processed (3 weeks later) and having it mailed out would be faster then to pick it up. I'm beyond upset with this place . Thankfully our dog is now doing well with Chemotherapy but all by our own hands.

Expérience négative: I had an emergency will my dog, was sent to ovc as it was diagnosed as a ''liver shunt''. To our surprise it ended up being antibiotic resistant menengitis, I was told he would need chemo therapy! I chose to listen to the medical advice and did so! I returned for the week 4 follow up when i was told he would need another brain scan to see how things were and if needed chemo that it would happen then! I drove across the province and wasn't given any update and was told the attending that was dealing with me wasn't there that day. I was then under the impression that she would call me when she returned, I recieved a call from my regular vet stating they were handing care over to them. Confused i called ovc and they can't find the records!? ***update*** they just found in my file at my regular vet that chemo was because of costs?!?! That is a flat out lie! I had to take out a loan for a small fortune and wanted my dog to be well! I am out too much money! Have no answers and the attending wont call and tell me whats going on as they are busy! They werent too busy to take my money but now that i need another appointment and treatment they have no idea what they are doing! Am truly hoping they figure this out and I will post another update once they figure this out and rectify all the funds that have been wasted. I am so glad i had a witness with me the entire time as i never stated i wasnt going to do the treatment! If you unlike myself can cross the border than do so! I would assume they are much more professional and a heck of a lot cheaper!! If this place is training future vets than our pets are doomed! Figure your stuff out! Do better!

Expérience fantastique: This place is equivalent to the Pokémon Center I visit in Viridian City. I’m from a small community in Pallet town and fortunate enough that there is a facility like this nearby. My animal was low with happiness and confused after an intense battle with a wild turtle. I recalled my boy and quickly ran over to this facility. The team here made sure he was better in a jiffy with their Healing Machine Activation. It’s hard to understand our pet-mon’s because we don’t speak the same language but they will know that the bond between us cannot be broken and the OVC is always here for the best care. I am able to have more adventures with my guy and can always rely on the professionalism from the team at OVC just like the Pokemon Center. Farewell and until next time.

Expérience négative: Settled the bill before surgery where, under the needle, my cat was sadly euthanized. We literally paid the receptionist after seeing my cat for the last time, ever. Told there would be further payment. After euthanasia, they tried coming for an extra $2000, all while refusing to speak with me, anyone from a supervisor to a manager, the receptionist refused to pass things along. The vet students were all great, but this place seriously needs improved management. Reading through these reviews, my case seems to be one of many. Adding additional unforeseen and unexplainable charges to vulnerable and overwhelmed pet owners is not only bad practice but straight up contemptible. Avoid if you can.

Expérience fantastique: We were referred to OVC by our family veterinarian after three months of our pup's mental and physical health mysteriously deteriorating. Through MRI, the staff were able to diagnose her with terminal brain cancer. OVC reception staff and Neurology were very supportive throughout the process and concerned for our well-being as well as our dog's. Although she ended up needing their help to cross the rainbow bridge, the staff were so kind and we are so thankful for the care our family received during her final hours. They helped arrange and facilitate her aftercare as well. They made an awful experience easier for us and I am so glad this kind of care exists for our furry loved ones.

Expérience négative: I will never return to the OVC for any of my pets needs. I was referred to the OVC for my cat, as he was displaying signs of severe pain in his lower back. The neuro resident that initially saw him looked at the x-rays and ultrasounds my primary care vet had already done, and came to the conclusion that he most likely had IBD because of something very small that showed up on his x-ray. I had been informing them frequently via email on his condition and why I was quite confident this was neurological and not GI-related, and they would take almost over a week to respond to me (clearly they did not care). When his symptoms progressed and he lost movement in his tail, they finally agreed to see him for a re-check, that I had to pay an additional $85 for. This time the person who saw him was a neuro intern, and she finally agreed he would need an MRI, although they still did not have an idea what was wrong with him. For some reason the following week, they weren't performing MRI's, so I booked him in for the week after that. Then by chance, I heard of a new animal hospital in King City that had opened, and I called them and they could see him immediately. I drove 1.5hr to see an actual board-certified neurologist (not a resident, or intern) for about the same consult dollar amount, and he knew almost immediately what his issue was, because he could see it in his physical examination and on the x-ray that was performed 2 months ago!!! The OVC missed this both times! The other animal hospital also has newer and stronger MRI machines (3T), and they quoted me $1000-$1500 less than the OVC and they got us scheduled in the very next day. I cancelled the MRI with the OVC over the phone and by email, and they kept contacting me to remind me about my appointment, and then the day of the appointment (that had already been cancelled mind you), they called to tell me their machine was malfunctioning and could not perform the MRI on my cat...LOL!! What a joke this place is. I am shocked and appalled at the low level of care, lack of a sense of urgency, and education. I paid less at the other animal hospital for an actual board-certified neurologist to provide me with an answer right away, and to be seen quicker. If you are going to have residents and interns examine pets that are in pain and potentially more complex cases, you should have an actual neurologist present. My cat was in pain WAY longer than he should have been due to their incompetence. Also, charging pet owners more money to be seen by a resident or an intern is ridiculous. I would not recommend bringing your animal in to the care of these "specialists", at least the ones in the neuro department.

Expérience négative: Do your homework before going here because these guys are happy to take thousands of dollars to do multiple tests on your pet. I accepted a quote for 10k for spinal surgery and a CT Scan. However, based on CT Scan the new recommendation is for a follow-up MRI before any surgery - that's another 3.4k. Nobody seems to care that you don't have unlimited funds, the doctor that worked with me was completely apathetic.

He had cancerous cells in a couple locations.. which we only knew of one site. They got him in within days and operated on him. While they were there, they found another site and acted fast. Although there was a small complication, it was breed specific - if you have a Frenchie, you know what I mean. They again, acted fast and made sure that we were reunited the next day. I don't know what we would have done had we have lost him.. we're super grateful for all their hard work and diligence in taking care of our Hermes! Highly recommend this hospital. They saved our best friend! What else is there to say but, thank you!!

Expérience négative: OVC is a complete money grab. They prey on your desperation and love for your family member. I was promised numerous things when my dog initially had a spinal injury and was told many things would be compensated and adjusted. These have since come back and been denied after 8 months of battling with the financial side of things. I was given poor after care instructions that led to me needing to go back to my own vet numerous times for infections and complications. I had to seek out rehabilitation on my own which was actually the main source of her improvement (I was originally told not to move her at all for 5-6 weeks and was told by multiple vets this would lead to long term deficits and to start rehabilitation sooner). I have since been dealing with the internal medicine doctors for a platelet disorder my dog developed from unknown origin and was discovered after a blood transfusion was required. Those vets have actually been very kind and reasonable and have NOT promised adjustments or given me false hope. They do push you to do tests that are not necessary as front line treatment and I have, as my dog has improved with steroid therapy, been pushed by the same vet who initially dealt with her spinal surgery, to do further invasive testing which I have promptly refused. She has been improving as expected, although is has been an insanely costly journey for us. There ARE vets who care at this institution and the reception has been incredibly helpful and understanding in all of this. But there are also numerous vets that are purely in this for profit and I sincerely hope that no one falls prey to that like I did.

Expérience fantastique: Had our first appointment with OVC HSC Ophthalmology Department for our cat Marshall. The student staff were so nice and explained every test they performed on our cat while also making the process light hearted and enjoyable. The Ophthalmologist was also very nice and performed further tests. We were given presciptions with written instructions and refills presciption slips we can bring to a human pharmacy as they noted it was cheaper to bring there which was very nice for them to offer/help cut costs. They suggested a follow up in a few months to see if the drugs are helping and were quick with the booking of that. The receptionist while checking out was also very nice and the price was more affordable than I thought it would be which was another pleasant surprise. Overall we were really impressed with our visit. Everyone was so nice, they saw us on time and were thorough with examing our Furbaby. Very blessed Ontario has such a great facility that offers so many vet services, it's worth the drive.

Expérience fantastique: Had to rush my dog over for an emergency exploratory laparotomy to remove a linear foreign born lodged in two separate places. Everyone from the residents, technicians and students were amazing and kind. Working as an RVT I know how challenging the industry is and how "special" clients can be and they were all very professional. The medicine practiced here is gold.syandaed ans they really went above and beyond to take care of my special guy. It has been approx 6 weeks since he was discharged and he has done fabulous. I cannot express my gratitude enough!

Expérience fantastique: The OVC small animal clinic simply put has provided highly professional medical services for our little yorkie that literally saved his life. You too can fully trust the highly qualified staff at OVC to provide your pet the best possible medical care if and when it may be required.

Expérience fantastique: Recently received excellent care and service for my sweet cat, Mouse. We were greeted by a very kind and calm 4th year student and had a detailed triage and history of what happened. Then the team of students and resident spent time with my cat to go over a physical assessment and a series of possible diagnoses. We then met with the student and resident to go over their findings and their recommended course of action. I felt so relieved when I went ahead with an eye test to check for an ulcer, which was found and could luckily be treated before it got much worse. Her condition of peripheral vestibular disease has eased and she is almost back to perfect health, and the eye ulcer has been cured. Very lucky to have this facility available to us when we need specialized care for our fur babies!

Expérience fantastique: Professional and compassionate staff. We arrived at 3am after being referred from our emergency clinic in London. They did an assessment on our dog and given how stable he was recommended waiting until regular clinic hours for his ultrasound/surgery to save money. Ultimately he wasn't a candidate for surgery and we picked him up the following day before having a week with him to come to terms with his prognosis and then ultimately say goodbye. Dr Lung was empathetic and provided us with all the signs and symptoms to look out for.

Expérience fantastique: My bengal was sent from the breeder with an infection. She went from bad to worse and wound up at OVC. From diagnosis to surgery to follow up my girl has gotten excellent care. From the front desk to the med students to the residents, we've been kept informed and have always felt confident

Expérience négative: It would be a zero star if I am allowed to pick so. Please read if you really want to know the real experiences we had. We were referred by local clinic to OVC, first few visits were great, my pet turned much better. However, it has been over 4 months and they kept asking us back for visit, kept performing the same blood test with no advice on what it could potentially be. Lied about one test result that was not available during my re-visit, different staff telling me different stories (report is lost, result not ready as the external clinic was closed…turns out they only sent it out during my revisit…why did you ask me to visit again then and why didn’t you tell me the truth instead? How am I supposed to trust you to cure my cat?) They kept charging me expensive bills but all they did in the past two months were just redoing the blood work, with no changes in the treatment at all. One reason that really pissed me off is the doctor told me that this case is rare, doing these tests could be good for academic purposes as well as my cat. I don’t feel that they care about my pet all they want is to charge us and doing ‘academic’ research while there is no advice to our cat’s treatment. Could be me taking it personally but I just honestly don’t think that they care about my cat’s life….

Expérience fantastique: We are so thankful our dog Zoey was transferred here after complications from a spay at another clinic. From the moment we entered the facility with our dog, our concerns and Zoey’s condition was taken seriously and all hands were on deck to save her. We would have lost our dog if we didn’t transfer her here. Dr Beardall performed an emergency surgery and called me right away after to explain what had happened. The next morning and for the next few days Dr Hawker was in close contact with us giving us updates and being very thorough in Zoey’s care. We felt very lucky to have such a caring vet for Zoey! He is one amazing vet!

Expérience négative: We were referred to this clinic by our Vet. We were told that our Standard Poodle rescue would benefit from an MRI. Our Vet said he had a neurological problem and may also be cancer. Our pet went in with a slightly curling back foot. He spent 3 days there getting several tests. We could hear him yelping in the back room during their examination. We had a very sweet young girl who was a trainee of the intern who visited with us. We didn't feel any compassion or caring concern from the intern. But her assistant was extremely compassionate with our boy. After the MRI and samples of spleen and liver, also examination from neo surgeon we still did not have any answers. The only thing the intern said was there is lesions on spine lumbar region, and neck. She said all the tests we spent over 5,000 dollars on would give us an answer. It did not! She decided to order prednisone meds and pain killers for our pet and would treat for inflammatory disease. Even though the test came back negative for it. When I asked why our pet is now dragging his leg. (He came in slightly curling his foot.) What is this??? Her answer... I don't know what this is or what caused it. Maybe we missed something on the MRI. We took our Pet home. He continued to decline. She said if he doesn't improve it may be Cancer or we could try him on another MED, similar to Prednisone. Our pet was suffering urinating every 2 hours uncontrollably. I took him to our Vet for another examination. He said he has declined in just a short time. We took him home only to bring him back the next day to have him put down. You see the Guelph clinic had him on a very high dose of Prednisone. He suffered internal bleeding that night, most likely from the meds. We feel our pet was misdiagnosed. We believe he had cancer from the beginning. But you try to trust in a place with the best equipment available to give you a proper diagnosis. Not always the case unfortunately. Thank you to our Vet in Cambridge who showed care and compassion towards our boy. He explained what was most likely happening. He gave us more information and answers than the highly rated clinic in Guelph. I am not saying they are not reputable. It's just that in our case we were very disappointed with them. We miss our boy very much. But we are grateful he is no longer suffering. He was so young at the age of 5. But we did give him the best life possible, while he was in our care for almost 3 years.

Expérience fantastique: If your pet gets into OVC they are very lucky and truly in the best hands. My dog Shiloh suddenly got very Ill with a severe case of aspiration pneumonia on December 23rd. She was transferred from another emerge hospital to OVC on Christmas day where they fought for over a week to save her life. Every doctor I've spoken with was incredibly knowledgeable - they were able to answer my million questions with so much insight and no sugar coating. The receptionists were also very warm and wonderful. Shiloh comes home tomorrow and I'm just so grateful for the exceptional care she received at OVC where I'm certain they saved her life. Outstanding veterinary care and expertise and I'm so so grateful for them!

Expérience fantastique: I can’t thank the team at OVC enough. When our Animal Hospital in Toronto referred us to OVC, we were worried. We filled in all of the forms beforehand but still expected a wait when we arrived. From the moment we walked inside (after hours) they were prepared, we waited less than 2 minutes before they rushed my dog (who was nearing critical condition) to the ICU. The entire team was amazing. They called with updates regardless of the time, and they answered every question I could think of. I can’t thank the team at OVC enough, but special thanks to Dr. McCarthy-Hann, and Dr. Manon Rigot. If you take your pet to OVC, they are in good hands.

Expérience fantastique: When our 11 week old cocapoo Romeo was diagnosed with the very deadly Parvovirus in October of 2022 we first took him to the Brampton Veterinary Clinic where they wanted $6000 upfront to treat him and gave us a 20% chance of survival. I wasn't satisfied with that and was told that the only place that could give us a better survival % was OVC in Guelph but we had to get a referral for $200 plus we paid over $500 for whatever they claimed to have done. Long story short we took him to OVC where it ended up costing us $4000 but the professionalism that we experienced and the compassionate way in which they took care of our little Romeo was absolutely amazing. It actually reminded me of our experience when I once had to take my younger daughter to Sick Kids Hospital. Such was our experience that I have no hesitation in recommending their services to anyone who has a pet that may need their expertise and care.

Expérience fantastique: Words cannot express how grateful we are for OVC. Their compassion and expertise is second to none and they were extremely helpful in a difficult time. Special thanks to Dr. St Jean and her team, who treated our cat as if he were their own.

Expérience négative: I called because they came up on a list of places we could take our rabbit to for radiation therapy to help treat a terminal tumour. Was told by the woman on the phone that they stopped taking rabbits for RT last year. As I unsuccessfully fought back tears and asked if she knew of any place that could help us get treatment for our little girl, I was shocked to hear her laugh and say we should try Google. I’d give zero stars if possible. This place has no credibility for client care and “bedside manner” if she’s still employed once they read this.

Expérience négative: Very disappointing. Our vet referred us for a neurology consultation. When we arrived we met with an intern who did not seem concerned with diet, anxiety issues or lifestyle, only the seizure disorder we were referred for. In hour 3 of the scheduled one hour appointment we were told the neurologist whom we never actually met was in a meeting and would see our dog shortly. Once our dog saw the neurologist we met again with the well meaning intern who recited generic text book passages and sent us on our way with the same advice we had received from our family vet. We were offered the option to get $4000 MRI to confirm he has the generalized seizure disorder that everyone involved seems to agree he has. Very unhappy that we paid $450 to have a consultation with a Neurologist that we never actually met and could not even ask any questions

Expérience positive: Took great care of my dog in the hospital. It was expensive, but expected for a specialty hospital, so that didn't phase me. Discharge instructions were vague and not detailed on when he got medications.. other than that, no concerns.

Expérience négative: I called this place because my wife at the time found her cat run over by a car. The person who took my after hours call said he'd call an emergency surgeon but called me back by mistake and said "hey doc, some loser called about his run over cat." This to me was baffling, ignorant, and I can only assume this is the general attitude of the place. They saved the cat. But these people are the worst.

Expérience fantastique: We were really really happy with the care our dog received at the OVC small animal clinic! The staff and doctors were very friendly and informative. They answered all of our questions prior to surgery. The surgery team did a great job and we were kept in the loop with his progress the whole time. The after hours care was excellent and was very helpful on our first night home. The team followed up unprompted after a few days to make sure our dog was doing well. I highly recommend them for their great work and great service!

Expérience fantastique: Every single staff member was so caring and thorough explaining what would happen when my pup was there for her renal spay surgery. Prices were reasonable and I was told everything upfront on what to expect, and they took extra special care with anesthesia and meds for her condition. I can't thank them enough for taking such good care of my girl. I am so very grateful for OVC's wonderful care. I wanted to send out a special huge thank you to Dr. Marti for taking such good care of my girl Freya and easing my mind on her care! Forever a fan of OVC!! From the bottom of my heart, thank you! ❤️

Expérience fantastique: Fantastic vet hospital/clinic. Brought our frenchie in for neutering and to fix his nose/breathing problem. The vet student who saw us initially was very pleasant, helpful and genuinely enthusiastic about her job and the animals she was learning to care for. The actual vet we saw after her was fantastic, explained the procedure in detail and broke done all the components so it was easy to understand. He answered all of our questions throughly and was a pleasure to deal with. I would definitely recommend this hospital/clinic for your furry friends wholeheartedly! 5/5

Expérience fantastique: The OVC saved my dog's life. My dog developed an autoimmune disorder that was destroying her red blood cells. They were extremely empathetic towards my wife and I, while we were quite upset, and they were always very transparent and understanding regarding the costs of the treatment. Thank you all very much for saving our puppy.

Expérience fantastique: If I could give 1000 stars to OVC Small Animal Clinic I would. While my visit with OVC ended with my dog only being given a very short time to live, I can’t say enough about how wonderful every single staff member was, and how my beloved dog, Garth, was cared for and treated in one of his final days. Dr. Matte was so thorough, thoughtful, and kind. It was clear she was doing everything she could to try and save Garth’s life. I know the team reviewed his test results several times, with several team members to be absolutely sure. We were in a state of shock as this had all happened so fast, and Garth was only 4.5 years old. Everyone was incredibly patient and understanding as we were quite distressed and upset throughout our visit. Unfortunately, Garth was diagnosed with hemangiosarcoma and we faced the difficult decision of bringing him home for end of life care. He was only with us for two days after his time at OVC, but we were grateful for those two days - which wouldn’t have been possible without the care and stabilization of the OVC team. We recently received a condolences letter from the OVC team in the mail and it meant the world to us. Garth was a vital member of our family, and he was treated as such at OVC. While the outcome of our visit was not what we had hoped, we will never forget the respect, care, and compassion from Dr. Matte and her team as well as the warm reception staff who assisted us when we arrived, and after our visit when they thoroughly audited our invoice and made payment very easy. From the bottom of our heart, thank you to everyone at OVC for loving Garth like we did. We will never forget your kindness!

Expérience fantastique: The most amazing hospital for your dog! This companion animal clinic (for dogs and cats) treats the most complicated medical cases. They have specialized equipment that your local vet would not have to help your dog or cat in need. They have an internal medicine department which dispenses medication for your pet and you can try out various medications that would work better for your dog with the medical liaison. Be prepared to spend thousands of dollars on your companion here but in the end it's worth it for the expertise. Afterall your dog or cat is your lifelong companion.

Expérience fantastique: It was my first time coming here. It's always intimidating when going to a clinic that I don't myself work at being in the veterinary field. Dr. Fox was extremely patient, thorough and kind with my reactive dog, and made the process of leaving her for the day much easier on me and my Fiance. We came from far and she even let us know ahead of time when my dog was ready to be picked up so that my dog didnt have to wait an extra hour for us to get there. Looking forward to finding my dogs diagnosis with the wonderful team she has!

Expérience fantastique: Everyone here is amazing. They offered our cat so much care and compassion when she was in heart failure, which offered us support in the process. Expérience fantastique: Our 5 year old German Shephard was hit by a transport truck and broke is leg and developed pneumothorax. It was a 2 day challenge getting him to ovc but after dealing with a clinic briefly in the states we are so happy with the care and knowledge that ovc has. They have been very thorough and compassionate and priced very reasonably. We are so lucky that he is in good hands now for his surgery.

Expérience négative: Wish I could give them a zero star. This is probably the worst place to take your pet. There is no proper communication. Each person will tell you different things. They don’t put notes in their system and you will probably never meet the same person again. I had the most horrifying experience here and will never be coming back nor will I recommend this place to anyone.

Expérience négative: DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE!!! They do not even deserve one star. They do not care about your pet, they just rack up your bill so they can make lots of money. We were left with no answers and we lost our dog Stella. Unreal experience. Horrible communication, most of the time I had to call them because they still hadn’t called us hours after they promised they would. We didn’t receive a final invoice from them until we got a statement 6 months later. Then I had to ask for the invoice and the invoice amount was wrong. Tried to get it corrected and they refused to follow through on what we had been told, and sent us now to collections after I asked to speak with someone else who could help us resolve our issues. I could go on and on about all our issues with OVC. All I wanted was Stella to get the care she needed, I didn’t care what it cost but I do not stand to be bullied to put way over what we had been told and promised. Please do not send your loved pets here. There are better places if you choose to go to this level of care. Try anywhere else but here. Wish we had NEVER taken Stella here.

Expérience fantastique: The veterinary staff here is extremely knowledgeable, extremely informative and extremely thorough. The demeanour of all the employees I have interacted with has been consistently professional, polite, respectful, positive, helpful, supportive and compassionate. They consistently take the time to listen to all pet/owner concerns and also consistently take the time to respond to all questions/concerns in great detail. Our pet (who is also very sensitive and anxious) has required extensive medical testing, treatment and support at OVC and, based on our experiences there, we feel confident that he is safe and treated with care, respect and compassion whenever he has required medical services at OVC's Small Animal Clinic.

Expérience fantastique: Thank you to all the Doctors and students that helped our Baby Enzo, back in January our poor dog was admitted due to severe hydration & Lepto that was attacking his kidneys. We almost thought we were going to lose our baby. Enzo was previously admitted to another hospital in Barrie, he stayed there over a week and they sent him home.. after a couple of days home his condition worsened we sent him back and they referred us to OVC, OVC helped Enzo get better & today he still has higher kidney levels but he is back to normal goofy Enzo.
