Expérience négative: First, I would like to say that our experience with front desk and vet assistant has been good, and that this review is limited to the vet we met here, Dr. Narwal. Our experience with Dr. Narwal has been the worst I ever had with a professional. We visited today another hospital, and our experience has been so much better that it convinced me to write this review. We initially came for a diagnostic for our cat who started overgrooming badly very recently. It can be hard to diagnose, as there are several different reasons for that. Common sense and logic is to try to identify reasons first, then eliminate them one step at a time, until finding the problem. I was surprised by the coldness of Dr. Narwal who didn't even try to examinate the cat, which was anxious and thus... aggressive. (Indeed, it's a cat dude, not a mascot). Instead of going for a slow approach and let the cat smell him, he used latex gloves directly, and quickly came to his face. I would have bitten also if a doctor tried to approach me this way. So far, it could be a simple lack of experience or empathy for cats, but it proved to be the case with humans also. Ruling out the possibility of a physical exam, and instead of having a conversation about the situation to find reasons, he started asking for a blood work, with sedation, because the cat is too aggressive. Beyond spending 300$, I'm not sure what kind of information it would gives about the cat, since the common reasons are mostly allergies, stress, or fleas, which you don't detect with this test. We were initially suspecting a stress related reason, and we had to insist several times to get something prescribed, to try that first. In the end, we left with 1 week of medication, and no action plan for the future. Useless.

Expérience négative: I would give this zero stars if I could. We brought our little dog here recently because she hadn't been herself for a day or two. We moved into the area some time ago and had not yet found a new vet. Decided to give this place a try as it was conveniently located for us and seemed to have good reviews (in hindsight, I should have looked at all the negative ones before booking an appointment). When we arrived, the place seemed generally disorganized and rather bleak looking, compared to our previous vet. I had misgivings but we went ahead and filled out the forms. At first no room was available, even though we had a scheduled appointment. While we were waiting I observed people coming in with their pets, and the pets were mysteriously whisked away to "the back" where they were given some sort of treatment, and then brought back out to their owners. Quite frankly this freaked me out! Finally, we were shown into a room and the vet came in after several more minutes of waiting. I could tell right away he was not the vet for us. His manner was arrogant, and he treated my little girl dog in a rough, demeaning manner, scolding her for being afraid and wiggly. He proceeded to examine her, found nothing wrong, but told us we needed a very expensive blood test to "make sure" she didn't have such and such conditions, although he admitted she didn't have any of the symptoms. I reluctantly agreed, thinking I wanted to do right by my baby. He disappeared and came back shortly with a large needle (and forgot to mention he wanted to whisk her away to "the back" also, where they would do the blood test. I refused and said I stay with her at all times). He told me they had to take blood from her neck, at which I was aghast. Again I reluctantly agreed as he said there was no other way. Well they tried, but she was very wiggly and by that point had had enough, and quite frankly by that point I had had enough too. I firmly told them we would not do the blood test after all. When we came out of the room into the waiting area, the place was wall to wall with people, all staring at me as we came out. There is no privacy whatsoever! We paid our bill and left. We will never, not in a million years, go back to this place. To anyone who has a pet they truly care about, especially if the pet is sensitive, do not EVER bring them here. There are so many other better vets in the area. Now I know better, and I'm just sorry I subjected my little girl to this treatment. Awful place.

Expérience négative: Avoid this unethical business! Also, don't believe their review rating. They offered a 50% discount on your next visit if you posted a 5 star review! We had an older cat on her last legs, so called Newport Village Animal Hospital for a quotation to have her euthanized. The lady put us on hold while she checked pricing. She came back and told us it would be $115.00 if the cat weighed less than 7 kg and we were taking the remains. We booked an appointment for the next day. We brought the cat in. The lady gave us paperwork to sign, but the price was $230.00. I told her we were quoted $115. She said that must have been the "new girl". I advised her that we were put on hold while the girl on the phone checked the price. The lady in the clinic went and asked the doctor, and came back confirming that the price would be $230. We took the cat and left! About 10 minutes later, when we were half way home, we got a call from the clinic. The lady said that the doctor would do the euthanasia for $115.00. I said that is what they should have said while we were there! To tell us that they wouldn't honour the quotation because it was given by an under trained employee is bad business practice. Even worse to call us later and offer to honour the quote. Needless to say, we didn't go back. As stated by many reviewers, this place is just a money grab - no compassion.

The vet would not take a look at my dog’s paws before giving her the normal allergy shots without charging visitation charges. He specifically rejected a 20 second checkup prior to giving her a shot unless I agreed to paying visit charges. Very disappointed ….

Expérience négative: I’d recommend avoiding this place at all costs. It’s very obvious to me that you care more about money than actually having compassion and empathy for animals. My cat was suffering from constipation issues on a Saturday a little over a month ago so I brought him here in a pinch. The treatment they recommended for him did not work. The second time I brought him in I explained how much discomfort he was in. Severe drooling, not eating or drinking, still unable to use the bathroom for many days. We saw a different vet this time and he really didn’t seem to be too concerned when I explained my cats symptoms and had no sense of urgency when it came to helping him. They did some more X-rays and his colon was completely full of stool and they suggested subcutaneous fluids which did absolutely nothing to help only worsening his condition. You guys gave him another enema not done under sedation the next day which did not work. The vet recommended an enema under sedation after already trying all those other things, which at this point we took him to another vet and I’m very glad that we did. I showed the new vet his previous X-rays they mentioned that his colon look enlarged, he was very constipated and immediately suggested he needed to be deobstipated under sedation. He ended up needing that procedure done TWICE in less than a week. My cat was also perfectly healthy other than constipation prior to bringing him to your clinic. He became very ill with an upper respiratory infection that spread to my other cat and she went into respiratory distress on Sunday due to that. Both of them ended up having to be hospitalized costing us a ton of money. Both of my cats nearly died, and I know for a fact he caught whatever he did at your clinic. I am beyond disappointed and honestly quite disgusted with the treatment we received here. It is also very inappropriate for your veterinary assistants to be wearing strong smelling perfume when handling animals. You would NEVER see that happen in a hospital for people and it should be the exact same when you’re dealing with animals especially in a medical setting. Thanks for the $50 off after you already overcharged us for things and did not help my cat. I have since deleted it and replaced it with this much deserved 1 star review. I found it very sketchy to begin with that I was asked to leave a 5 star review and that’s probably the only reason you guys have a decent rating after looking at all the terrible reviews you’ve received. I feel so horrible and guilty for ever trusting you guys to care for my pet. You also charge way too much for your prescription foods here.

Expérience fantastique: Really wonderful experience here. We moved over to this vet when our dog was 10 and started having seizures as they could see us very quickly after the first event. For 5 months we had excellent advice and support, even some extra phone calls for clarification so we could make our best decisions on next steps. The staff were so kind, respectful and responsive when we urgently needed end of life support. We are so thankful for this team.

Expérience fantastique: They took my cat in right away (same day) as I was very concerned with his sudden change in behaviour. After basic tests the vet consulted with me about additional preferred tests which as someone on a fixed income I appreciate. Before agreeing I got an estimate and was told a high end quote which is better then a surprise at the end. Turns out he over quoted me a lot which was a relief. I was given most of the results and am relieved that cat is not seriously ill. Through all this they were very good with my boy to minimize his trama. Thanks

Expérience fantastique: My dog wasn’t feeling well and my regular vet couldn’t take us. I called for an appnt and they took us within a couple hours. Very impressed with their service, front end and doctor were great. They followed up with me the next day to check on my dog which was very much appreciated. Their extended business hours are a bonus! Highly recommend

Expérience fantastique: Huge thanks to you and the whole team at Newport, I was so impressed with our visit. Everyone was so caring, friendly and helpful - it was a great experience. The Dr was great with our new kitten, Lucky, and very reassuring to us as new pet owners. He was thorough but didn't put her through unnecessary tests, and they followed up the next day to make sure she was ok. Amazing patient focused service. Huge thanks to the whole team!

Expérience négative: If I could, I’d give a rating of 3-4 for the receptionist/assistant who was lovely. She gave my dog a treat as soon as we came in and was very caring while holding her during the exam. I was not as happy with Dr Narwal. I moved to PoMo in January and this was a new vet for us. Dr Narwal didn’t welcome us, ask why we were changing vets, ask how we came to choose his clinic. He was not at all friendly and welcoming. He didn’t greet my dog when he walked in the room, didn’t pet her or talk to her while conducting his exam and wore latex gloves for it. I’m not sure I’ve had a vet do that in the past. He was not a good communicator and looked at me quizzically a couple of times when I asked questions. My dog was initially there for flea medication but since she’d had some diarrhea and gas the day before I asked about it. He was all set to prescribe antibiotics for Giardia without determining whether a rice, chicken and pumpkin diet for a day or so would calm her tummy before suggesting a more invasive treatment. Then when I arrived home there was a message from the clinic saying they undercharged me by $47. Overall I was not impressed and unlikely to return.

Expérience négative: Moving into the area two and a half years ago, we left our old veterinary clinic for Newport because it was closer to our new home. Unfortunately, a couple of the doctors at Newport seemed dismissive of my concerns about one of my kitties. They didn’t appear to listen to the issues my cat was experiencing. Based on a friend’s recommendation, I recently decided to get a second opinion at another veterinary clinic. And thank goodness I did! My poor little fluff had been suffering with a dental disease and in pain for quite some time. The new doctor identified the issue within 30 seconds of seeing my kitty and said there was no way it could have been missed. Not only do I feel like a horrible fur parent for not getting a second opinion sooner, but I’ve lost all faith in Newport’s doctors. I will say their front office and vet tech staff are so friendly and amazing, but that’s all I can say about the treatment we received.

Expérience positive: Getting an appointment the same day your pet needs a vet is usually impossible. So I appreciated getting in with my cat very much. Location and underground parking is convenient too. Dr. Brar was attentive and gentle, addressed and explained the issue, concerns and questions. The assistant Tracy was very nice and understanding with us, and especially with our ginger. He wasn't stressed at all. Thank you.

Expérience négative: Went to this clinic for my older dogs breathing problem couple days ago. Vet started listing off things he needed that I never asked for like shots and teeth extraction, while asking how long I was ignoring the initial reason I came in as if I was neglecting my best friend. After telling me the diagnosis of a collapsed trachea or congenital heart failure he suggested either a cough syrup or pills but needed to get more results back from the lab which I asked when they would be ready. That timeline came and passed without a call and vet didn't even ask if I wanted to give him cough syrup to help him while we waited. Bad experience and no bedside manner, I think the only reason they're still here is the hours are later than most. Go else where and save yourself the heartache.

Last year our 15-year-old Shiba Inu papa came for brain poison with half of the whole body uncontrollable and paralyzed. This time today it's our 14-yr-old Shiba Inu old son coming with stools of blood. We all wosh him speedy recovery from doctor's medications this time!

Expérience fantastique: I recently transferred my dogs here and what a change in environment from our old office. My dogs and I felt very taken care of at each visit. The office is very transparent with procedures and costs. Dr. Chahal & Alysha were very professional and attentive to my dog’s emergency needs. Unfortunately, we had to put our dog down in August. The whole team from beginning to end were very attentive. They helped us carry my rocky boy into the clinic, made sure he was comfortable throughout the process, walked us through each step of the way. They treated us like one of their own and we’ve just met them! Thank you Newport Team for your compassion and empathy. Even though we recently experienced the heartbreaking loss of our dog, the kindness and support from your team did not go unnoticed.

Expérience fantastique: I was very happy to be able to get my cat into see the doctor on the same day as I called. When we arrived, the assistants were warma and welcoming and saw us directly into an exam room. Dr. Chahal was very pleasant and gentle with my cat when taking blood and urine samples. The results came in the next day and Dr. Chahal called me himself to explain results and next steps. He was clear with instructions and information. That was much appreciated. If you ever stop in, be sure to give Samosa, the orange tabby, a little scratch :)

Expérience fantastique: Our dog Winston, an 81/2 year old Schnauzer was experiencing acute pain in his abdomen and was diagnosed with Pancreatitis January 3, 2025. Drs. Nahal and Chahal along withy Tracey and staff were very professional, efficient and so very kind and gentle with Winston. He is slowly on the mend and must watch his diet very closely. No more salmon tidbits for this dog. Rob and I appreciate your care and are so glad we have found a wonderful Animal Hospital so close to home.

Expérience négative: I thought this was going to be my "forever vet clinic," but no. These are my reasons: 1. When you walk in, there is no staff to be seen. They all stay behind the door in another room. You have no idea if they know you are there, or not. 2. When you enter the clinic, you are hit with a extremely, strong scented odour which is toxic for humans and animals alike. My dog was returned to me several times, scented. 3. This is not a "one-stop" vet clinic, as they suggest you get nutritional guidance from a pet nutritionist. They will, however, sell you their canned food and kibble. 4. They do not cater to pets' anxiety. I set up an appointment in a way that I would take my pet from the car right into the vet's care, so there was minimal wait time, in order to reduce the anxiety. I let the clinic know I was there, but was told it would be a few minutes because they were dealing with a "hard case." Prior to that, they told me their "hard case" was just leaving and to give them 5 minutes. As we continued to wait, the vet came out and started moving cases of food into the clinic. He knew I was waiting, as we made eye contact. Finally, I was called in, and the vet still did not come into the room, leaving us there for another 15 minutes. Finally, we left, only to receive a call to reschedule. I accepted at first, but then realized that I was not going to put my pet through that again. 5. The vet suggested I put my pet on Prozac. 6. They do not have an office manager or a veterinarian technician. 7. The girls try hard and I know they care about the animals, as do the doctors. However, their philosophy and limitations are not to my liking. Thankfully, I have a new vet at THE BARN DOOR who really cares about the whole picture of the dog. Taking into account all that I told them, they provided training tips, natural medication for anxiety, nutritional and supplement guidance, and much more. The technician/nurse has even invited me to bring my dog to the clinic, and she will come to the car with treats so my dog can get to know the tech from her own safe environment, being the car. In the future, we will meet the tech outside. Who does that? I now feel confident that my dog's overall health and well-being is taken seriously.

Expérience négative: We recently visited this clinic with our cat. our experience left us feeling taken advantage of during an already stressful and emotional time. it was not possible to collect a urine sample during the initial visit. By the time we returned the next day, the blood test had already confirmed a diagnosis of pancreatitis. Despite this, the staff insisted that the urine test had to be completed simply because it was part of the package—stating that refunds were not possible. This felt unreasonable and inflexible, especially given that the test was no longer clinically necessary. The overall experience gave us the impression that procedures and charges were driven more by profit than patient care. It’s disheartening to feel that vulnerable pet owners might be pressured into unnecessary steps and expenses. Sadly, we won’t be returning, and we’ll be advising our friends and fellow pet owners to seek care elsewhere.

Expérience positive: Friendly staff that truly love pets and are reasonable about necessary medical intervention. Very good hours make it easy to get an appointment. It can get busy though with vets having to juggle multiple patients.

Expérience fantastique: Thank you so much to Newport Village Animal Hospital for taking in my cat for emergency appointments twice now. They are very accommodating when it comes to emergency appointments and we are allowed to be in the same room when the general examination is conducted. They are also very upfront and transparent with the quotes for their services, we not have yet been overcharged, and we apreciate the diligent follows ups and thorough explanations when questions are asked. They also have an emotional support cat in the lobby who takes her job very seriously and sit on laps of stressful owners who are waiting for their pets. ;) Thank you so much, Newport!! We so appreciate everything that you've done for our cat.

The other staff were very helpful and friendly and showed great concern for our pet. I would highly recommend this animal hospital. Expérience fantastique: My kitten got all her vaccinations / flea treatment / deworming and later got the spay surgery done at the Newport Village Animal Hospital. The vet answered the many questions I had for the spaying and was helpful. The staff is very friendly and gentle with my kitten. Strongly recommend!

Expérience négative: Rip off... I am still not over how bad they took advantage of the situation. My dog fractured leg, the xray, pain med and splint (which later that night came off easily) costed over $500. This was in 2019! I have never even heard of that now in 2025... no empathy either and I still think about it. Warning others....

Expérience fantastique: Our senior dog became very ill and the clinic was able to fit us in promptly. Dr. Nahal performed a thorough exam and clearly explained his diagnosis. Our dog can be quite anxious in new situations, but both the doctor and assistant handled him gently and he was calm throughout. We appreciated their help and service.

All the staff there are very friendly and gave excellent advice. The price is reasonable, I would recommend this clinic to my friends.

Treated our dog poorly during a simple vaccine appointment where they had multiple staff members restraining a small golden retriever who's never shown any sign of aggression and is very calm. Insisted she had an ear infection because she shook her head once when coming in, despite not even looking in her ears. Looked at one side of her teeth for a split second, then insisted she needed to be put under anesthesia for dental cleaning - we took her to another vet who did a proper exam and said her teeth are perfectly fine and she won't need dental work for at least a year or 2 (she's only 2 years old). The vets were insistent on numerous tests and procedures that were unnecessary for our healthy dog and became extremely condescending when I declined these services. Extremely unprofessional and seemingly unethical as they're clearly trying to upsell things your pets don't need.

Expérience positive: I had to think before posting this but I think the following review is fair. We have been clients of this Vet for at least 5 years, for our dog. Generally the service has been great - we can get appointments readily and have been pleased with the care our dog has received. We have dutifully paid our vet bills without question during this entire time. Last night my husband happened to enquire if they could quickly cut our dogs nails as the groomer wasn’t available any time soon. They obliged and my husband took her. Now; he did not ask the price beforehand and I’ll admit that. He was inside for maximum 5 mins whilst our super compliant medium sized dog had her nails clipped. The cost was $40 plus tax which is a significant increase and $25 more than the groomer. To me that seems extortionate. Now I know that costs have risen, but they have also risen for the consumer and this just seems like someone has gotten a little greedy, which I don’t like. We will be reconsidering where our money is spent for our dog in the future which is unfortunate after 5 years.

Expérience fantastique: Rocky (Chiweenie) had a persistent itch he was licking incessantly. Vet visit quickly booked. Reception/support staff was very friendly and efficient and did what they could to ease Rocky’s anxiety about being at the Vet. The doctor was very informative, thorough and gentle with Rocky. Examination and determination of treatment and any options clearly explained and Rocky is now on the road to recovery. I highly recommend Newport Village Animal Hospital for your pets needs.

Expérience fantastique: This vet hospital is fantastic. I had a puppy a couple years ago who was very ill and they took such good care of her and treated her like a princess. Unfortunately I have her no longer but now I have a lovely cat called sweet pea, and once again they treated her like she was their own. They are kind and patient and caring. I love their office. Expérience fantastique: I have been taking my dog BOU to Newport Village Animal Hospital for a number of years. Their service has always been outstanding. My dog was 18 years old and we finally had to make the final decision to have him put down. [one of the hardest things for a dog owner to do] I was able to hold my beloved dog while they performed the procedure . Needless to say, I was an emotional mess and the staff were extremely helpful in getting me through it. I will be bringing our new dog back to them to be looked after. Jens Linde

Expérience fantastique: 1000% recommend going to Dr Nahal and Alysha. This review you is for all the pet parents who are either struggling to find a vet they can trust to treat their fur-child as if it were their own or for pet owners who simply just want a solid, knowledgeable doctor that they trust is prescribing medications and recommending diagnostics because it’s what’s in the best interest of your pet. As someone who expects my pet to be treated better, or at least with the same standard of care that I would be if I went to a doctor for myself, I am grateful to have finally found Dr Nahal. He is incredibly thorough during exams and will explain the rationale behind his recommendations and take into consideration what your concerns or anxieties as a parent might be towards the treatment approach in order to come up with a plan that’s tailored to your pet and specific situation. Alysha is a magical whisperer because the minute my pup hears her voice or feels her presence, he instantly becomes cooperative and relaxed. She is an expert at skillfully getting your sick, and probably stressed out, fur baby to feel safe and comfortable during the exam and diagnostics. These two deserve all the respect and praise for their expertise and skills first, but the it is their standard of care, bedside manners, and dedication to your pet that will make you realize going to a vet should not be and does not have to be scary or stressful when you’re already feeling that way about your fur baby being sick.

Expérience négative: Our cat was euthanized here a few days ago and it has left us very traumatized with how poorly she was treated. We wanted our precious cat to have a peaceful death since her kidney failure was taking its toll on her. First, the veterinary assistant was extremely insensitive and held our cat by its back neck and complained about our cat biting and scratching. She also took our cat away from us which is not what we wanted. Second, our cat got so stressed and vomited everywhere. This place doesn’t know how to be sensitive to their client’s needs. I am very disappointed in their way of euthanizing and highly encourage others to look elsewhere. This places doesn’t care about their patients and it shows. Thanks to their maltreatment we are all devastated and feeling traumatized by our experience. My mother can’t stop crying because of how terrible the experience was and how much guilt she now feels because how poorly our cat was treated by the veterinary assistant. Euthanizing a dear pet is already so heart wrenching and painful. This veterinary hospital didn’t understand how sensitive this procedure is and how much care and support is needed. We are beyond angry with how our cat was euthanized.

Expérience fantastique: They were very accommodating when I was having issues before my appointment was supposed to take place. It was reassuring and helped a lot when we eventually did get my two cats into the hospital for their visit. They are quick to provide service and the actual surgery didn't take nearly as long as it was estimated to. So overall I really appreciate the visit today and I'll definitely come back in the future.

Expérience négative: I have been bringing both my dogs to this vet for years. They recently increased their pricing for a glucose curve from $175 to $275 in a matter of 6 months, and didn’t notify me prior to my appointment to let me know that their rates had increase significantly for no apparent reason. I have spent thousands at this clinic and am so disappointed in this clinic and will now have to find a last minute alternative in order to continue giving my dog insulin. What a cash grab clinic.

Expérience fantastique: They found a cancerous spot on my dog's hind quarter and removed it and shes a different dog now! Much happier and more energetic too! I love the Vets there! IlThey explained things clearly for me to understand in what to expect when my baby girl had surgery on her hind quarter! I highly recommend them for any ailments your pet may have!

Expérience négative: Do yourself and your pet a favor and find a new clinic. We have trusted this location but something has changed. The last two times we have been here the vibe is way off. Rude staff and lack of care. We need our dogs nails cut by the vet because of her anxiety around the procedure. She needs a pill which we give to a few hours before her appt to keep her calm. When we arrived they now weigh her when she goes in. This is a new tactic even for small things so keep this in mind as it’s important. They already charge well over what a groomer charges but today’s visit was crazy. Second they refused to put a muzzle on her and asked me to do it because she’s a little “grump”. Takes me two min to get it on and I wait back in the waiting room. Two min later they come out with her. Tells me it’s now $42 dollars. I questioned why when I’ve always only paid $25. They said because she gained 3 pounds!!! I was in disbelief so she then proceeded to tell me that bigger dogs need more care so they justified the price increase. Still in disbelief and to top it off they didn’t even cut her nails properly. She still has so much growth. Now we have to find another vet that will actually do the job. This clinic has turned into something we no longer trust and it seems they are heavily focused on cash first and overcharging for everything. Staff is always different the last couple of times so I suspect the owner doesn’t treat them well.

Expérience fantastique: Professional, accommodating, and caring. Having been an emergency vet assistant for many years I'm always very nervous bringing my animals to a vet that I'm not familiar with. There are a lot of shady practices out there. Early this week I noticed blood in my dogs urine and so I called Newport village animal hospital as they were close and open on a Sunday. They managed to squeeze my dog into their schedule same day and the doctor was so nice! He took his time with my dog and gave him treats before the exam and after. He explained everything to me in detail and made recommendations. After some diagnostics the vet told me my dog had bladder stones and he went to surgery that Wednesday. The vet and support staff did an amazing job with him and I felt comfortable leaving him for the day in their capable hands. I'll definitely be returning!

Expérience négative: I would not recommend this vet to care for your dog. Albeit, the staff at the front were friendly, and they got me in quickly, but that's where the good service ended. My dog needed stitches, and they gave me a upper and lower ball-park of how much it would be. I picked my dog up, and it was a few hundred over and above the top end of costs they originally said. 10 days later, we brought her back for stitch and cone removal. The vet never showed his face, and there was no communication in regards to care for my dog after having the stitches removed. We woke up the next morning, and my dog's wounds had reopened. We brought her back to the vet to have it checked out, and were told they would need to be re-stitched, she would need a cone again, and put on another round of anti-biotics/medication for another 7-10 days. As if this wasn't bad enough, I was told I would be on the hook for the costs of the 2nd surgery. Paying again is tough to deal with, but putting my dog through the stress of all this really bothered me. The vet assumed no responsibility, stated my dog must have licked the wound open, or that there was possibly an infection beneath the skin. In my opinion, if there was any chance of re-opening, the stitches should have been left in. The lack of communication, and unwillingness to assume any responsibility showed me this vet clinic is not to be trusted. Upon reading further reviews, some people mentioned this clinic will give you discounted service if you write them 5 star reviews. Although this wasn't the case for me, I wouldn't put it past them. I will never go back to this clinic, and I only hope others have a better experience than I did.

Expérience négative: I brought my cat here for her digestive issues because her regular vet was closed. The room for examination smelled weird and was not comfortable. Dr Nahal was quite awkward and seemed dismissive when I was describing the symptoms. They took her to the back for tests but they did anal gland clearing without my consent. My cat was very traumatized and looked like she was in pain for the next few days. Dr Nahal came back and said it could be arthritis or cancer. I’m not sure how he gets to that conclusion from the symptoms I described. He seemed to have an attitude like I’m Wasting his time. They didn’t run the right diagnostic tests for her condition, ran parasite test even though I said multiple times she is an indoor only cat. Didn’t prescribe any medication or solution. $500+ complete waste of money. My cat came back smelling like a very strongly scented cologne. Cats have sensitive noses I have no idea what they put on her. I took her back to her normal vet and with PROPER vet care and medication, the RIGHT diagnostics, her issues resolved quickly. Would not recommend this place at all.

Expérience fantastique: The team at Newport Village Animal Hospital were so patient and gentle with our old and unwell dog at the end of her life. They gave us a full range of options and suggestions for her. They called for updates regularly, and gave us time to come to the inevitable decision. After all the heartbreak they mailed us a beautiful card signed with personal messages from all the staff. We really appreciated their compassion from start to end.

Expérience fantastique: This isn't my usual vet clinic but mine was closed and this office was able to fit me in quickly when my dog accidentally got his paw caught in a closing metal door. They were very kind and professional and able to get the job done even though my dog is very difficult to manage during vet appointments. The office is clean and has easy access to parking. It's nice to know this is a good option in Port Moody that I can turn to.

Expérience fantastique: I went for an assessment I have two miniature schnauzers Lily and Ruby to assess options for their teeth. They are older dogs, 13 and 11. I saw Dr Manvir Nahal. He was wonderful very thorough told me exactly what he felt. What my dogs needed but did not press or pressure me in anyway as my primary goal was to get antibiotics for teeth cleaning through pampered pets via ultrasonic avoiding anesthetic due to my dogs age, he noted other things wrong with them, and left it with me to decide whether or not to follow through. All in all, he was very professional, very clear and very caring. I will return if needed.

Expérience fantastique: On Sunday Dec.24th, Christmas Eve, we woke to find our 17 year old dog not feeling well. She was vomiting, panting, and seemed to be really uncomfortable. I called our usual vet and they told us they couldn't see her and gave us a number for a vet 45 minutes away. Instead we found NVAH, called, and got her in right away. The clinic was very clean, friendly, and supportive right away. We came in worried that we have reached the time to say goodbye to our girl, because at that age you never know, and what we received from this clinic was expert veterinary care, kindness, medication support, and very knowledgeable staff. It turned out our old lady had pancreatitis, along with some other issues that come with old age. Along with a diagnosis of what was wrong with her we also received excellent dietary advice, and the total sum was much less than what we had expected to pay or would have paid at our regular vet. The next morning we received a call asking how she was and if we needed any help with the new medications that she'd been prescribed and were told to call at any time with any questions. Two days later the vet phoned again with more results, and it's now two weeks later, and I could not be more pleased with how our dog is doing. The kindness, caring, professionalism, and the follow-ups are so above and beyond that this will now be our regular vet, and it was a really easy decision to make.

Expérience fantastique: We cannot say enough good things about Newport Village Animal Hospital's vets and staff. We have 2 dogs with very different issues (and there are a lot of issues!), and Drs. Nahal and Brar have been incredible in getting our dogs back to health (one was very ill, and without Dr. Nahal, he wouldn't be here today) and keeping them healthy. They are skilled, knowledgable, and friendly vets. The entire staff is amazing. Everyone there is not only good at their jobs but also super nice and loving to our pups.

Expérience fantastique: My cat recently passed away and it was a very difficult time for me. On Sep 24, my cat had a very bad seizure and we discovered him laying in his littler box, unable to move, unable to blink, and half of his body was just cold to the touch. I was devastated. NVAH was able to take us in to look at our cat within an hour of us calling them. After an examination we all decided it was the best to let my kitty go. Despite this being an extremely painful experience for me, the hospital staff were incredibly supportive and sympathetic to us. The appointment was not rushed, and they let us stay in the treatment room with our cat for some extra time after he was euthanized. We brought a little paw print for our kitty. NVAH followed up with us very diligently and kept us updated on the paw print order. And on Oct 31, our black kitty’s paw print finally arrived. It’s almost like my black kitty was saying hello to me with his signature Halloween greeting. When I got home and opened up the package of my cat’s paw print, I was surprised to discover a beautiful handwritten card. A card with NVAH team’s kind wishes and supportive words. A card with my kitty’s name beautifully drawn. Thanks to NVAH, I had to drink extra extra water on that evening to make up for excessive lacrimal secretions. Thank you, NVAH. Life is slightly better because of wonderful humans like you.

Expérience fantastique: Hardly ever any wait times and the staff is super friendly and helpful. Dr Nahal is great with our dog. We love this vet clinic! I have been to others but with the long wait times and up charging it can be super stressful especially when your dog is sick and in need of immediate care; I have never experienced this problem at this clinic. If I call they book me in usually the same day and don’t up charge me for an emergency appointment.

Expérience fantastique: Noticed a problem with my indoor cat Sunday morning and called because this vet had Sunday hours. They saw her later on that day. The vet and vet tech were both efficient and kind. Testing was quick and thorough with minimal stress to my cat. Antibiotics were prescribed the next day after results were in. The vet tech called the following morning before we had the results to see how my pet was doing. Definitely recommend.

Initially he was given only 3 months but with there help and treatment suggestions we were able to extend that to almost one year of painfree life. When it became evident it was time to let him go they made sure the entire family was able to come and say goodbye at there office. We can’t thank them enough for the extra time we had and there understanding and compassion during Roscoes final days

Expérience fantastique: Moved in the area so I was looking for a new vet to take my cat to. Was able to make an appointment the same day and when we arrived, there was no wait time at all. We were in and out within 30 minutes. Friendly staff, clean clinic. They have a friendly orange cat that works there that greeted us. Highly recommend! Lots of free parking available outside as well.
