Services
East Village Animal Hospital-Kitchener: Avis
Expérience fantastique: Our kitties always get top notch medical care here. The doctors and technicians are very kind and love their clients. I wouldn't take my kitties anywhere else.
Expérience fantastique: Great, friendly staff. The vet was informative and understanding. Love it here.
Expérience fantastique: They are so good I recommend this hospital to everyone give them 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Expérience négative: Need a vet i was told about this place so I emailed them and sent them all my info and they just left me hanging and never got back to me very unprofessional
Expérience négative: Never never never go to this vet. Unless you want your pet to die. Brought my dog here with diarrhea they said she had a viral infection or parasite. They checked her temperature with an in the ear human thermometer. Didn’t look in her eyes, didn’t press her belly. Looked at her teeth and said she needs her teeth done. Gave me antibiotics, anti parasite and dewormer. 6 days later she died. The emergency vet that I ended up taking her to 5 days later said she had protein loss entropy it was too late we had to put her down. Vet at emergency clinic said if the vet at this clinic had diagnosed her properly he would’ve treated her with steroids and she would still be here today. Also note that yes his exam fee is cheap which gets you in the door but all his other fees are double the cost.
Expérience négative: Not a client there but was told to give a call for a surgery. Only to find out they have a policy to fix all pets. We have a 10 year old bassist hound and we don’t want this. Of course this will cause the cost of the surgery to remove a lump on her side to go way up and become unaffordable. The fact you can force a policy like this is wild to me and you’re taking advantage of your position on pet owner. Stuff like this is the reason I will longer be rescuing any more animals. Vets have made it impossible to care for them. Absolutely disgusting in my opinion.
Expérience négative: I am appalled at the most recent experience I’ve had with EVAH- Kitchener. Having a sick pet is stressful enough, but your vet clinic completely ghosting you is a nightmare. After taking my cat for an annual checkup and vaccines last week, a few concerns led to doing bloodwork that diagnosed my cat with pancreatitis. They gave me pain medication and enough anti nausea to last “until the ultrasound” (5 days worth), and sent a referral to their Hamilton location for ultrasound. A few days later, I was close to running out of meds with no ultrasound date, and my cat developed raging diarrhea from one of the meds they gave. I began contacting the clinic for more meds. The receptionists will tell you “we’ll send it off to the doctor as urgent and you should hear back today”, just to appease you and get you off the phone. One even said she would “harass” the doctor to get an answer and told me to call back and harass them the next day. I then called Hamilton to follow up on the referral and was told it could be up to 6 weeks!!! So I contacted the clinic again, and paid a fee for them to fill out extra paperwork and refer me to a local vet with ultrasound, which never ended up happening. Once her meds ran out and I still had no ultrasound date, I started calling more frequently and each time, told the same thing, that they will send it off to the doctor as an urgent inquiry, and I should hear back today. And then another day passes with no answers and my cat is now suffering and out of the meds they gave her. They eventually began to completely ignore my phone calls and emails because they did not have any answers for me. When my cat began acting poorly, I finally contacted Mitchell Animal Hospital, who was able to get me in for a second opinion visit that same day, and for an ultrasound the day after. I understand EVAH is a low income vet, and they are swamped with clients. They are typically very far behind schedule and you’ll have to wait at least 30 minutes past your appointment time. However, there is never an excuse for ignoring a client and letting a pet suffer simply because the doctor doesn’t have time to review a few emails over the course of a couple days. This behaviour is quite frankly unprofessional, and a disgrace to veterinarian medicine. They may be okay for your basic spay, neuter and vaccines, but I would never recommend them for any serious or time sensitive health matters for your pet.
Expérience fantastique: Great with the animals and try to help with the cost for rescues and lower income people. We love our pets but the cost of everything has gone up and we need more places like this.
Expérience négative: I’ve had two extremely frustrating experiences with this clinic, and at this point I won’t be returning. Almost two years ago, I brought in my cat and was told he had a heart murmur. They immediately recommended additional testing, which ended up costing nearly $900 — at a clinic that markets itself as low budget, to the point where I had to provide proof of OSAP funding just to qualify for their pricing. After all of that, every test came back showing absolutely nothing wrong. In hindsight, it seems far more likely that he was simply scared when the vet listened to his heart. Fast-forward to now: I bring in my new cat, and again I’m told he has a heart murmur. At that point, I honestly thought, There’s no way two completely different cats both magically have this issue. So I went to another vet for a second opinion — and they found that his heart is perfectly normal with zero signs of a murmur. I’m not making claims about what this clinic is doing behind the scenes, but the pattern is concerning. Being told twice that my perfectly healthy cats had heart issues that no other vet could confirm makes me seriously question their diagnostic accuracy, and their motives for recommending expensive testing at a supposedly low-cost clinic. Based on my experiences, I cannot recommend this place and will be taking my pets elsewhere.
Expérience fantastique: I’ve trusted EVAH with my cats for over 8 years, and they’ve consistently provided excellent care. The staff is supportive, knowledgeable, and always take the time to explain things clearly. You can tell they truly love what they do. I’m very grateful for them and would absolutely recommend the clinic to anyone looking for a great vet.
Expérience positive: Always a quick and efficient experience here.
Expérience négative: They give out the wrong information when booking an appointment. They demand that they have to do a full exam before they can give any vaccinations. Once in the room, they claim that your pet does not need the vaccine that the appointment was booked for (even though I was told on the phone that he needed his rabies shot, as he never had it given there). Then states that instead, he needs two different vaccinations, and overcharged us. Got home, and called back to see why this happened, just to find out that my dog DID in fact have a rabies shot done there. But once again found them ripping us off as he didn’t even need the rabies shot that they gave him in 2023, as when we transferred my dog to them, his previous file clearly stated that he had just had his rabies shot in 2022. Making it due in 2025, NOT in 2023 when they charged us for it. Total SCAM
Expérience fantastique: Great veterinarian super friendly staff. They really care for the animals.
Expérience fantastique: GREAT Support Staff and Dr's. I hadn't confirmed an Appt but the LOVELY young ladies were able to get us in and lil' Mr Puss got his FIX THANKS EVAH Kitchener and I HIGHLY recommend everyone to take their Fur LOVIES to this Animal Hospital. Affordable & VERY caring
Expérience fantastique: Nice service and excellent price to fix your pet.
Expérience fantastique: His servant was horrified and people were kind and helpful: I took my cat for sterilization there and received the most beautiful maids
Expérience négative: They said they wouldn't take me on as a patient if I didn't let them nueter my boy. Unfortunately he's never been the same since the operation. Wish I never listened to them.
Expérience fantastique: Very good stuff always there to answer ur questions
Expérience négative: Never been to this place before came in with my dog having a medical emergency can't breathe possibly having a heart failure and they turned her away how nice for the well-being of animals. Hope my dog dont die before I get to the next vet as ours is out of town. So sad they did not put the welfare of the animal first. They are not even getting a one star. Only getting one as it needs minimum one to post Update because my dog was in medical distress and turned away and i am sad to say she passed away less than 2 hours later at another vet who took her right away with no questions asked. They just wanted to help my dog and did everything they could.
Expérience fantastique: Wonderful vet techs and vetinerians at this location. Very compassionate about animals
Expérience positive: Very nice compassionate about all the animals answered all our questions and did not judge us for the questions asked i will keep going back there
Expérience négative: It's been 2 weeks today, I'm still at a loss for words for the way East Village Animal Hospital treated me and more so my dog as I was putting him down!! They were so rude to me they did not give me any time to spend with my beloved dog before he crossed over the Rainbow Bridge. First they told me they needed updated blood work in order to give him the first needle with the pain meds in it, well duh it goes by the dog's weight not by their blood work! Well let me tell you the vet obviously put too much in the needle which caused him to have a seizure. Then they came running in and told me they're putting him down right this minute because I am making him suffer also because I did not put him down a year ago when I was in there! I was also told that they would light the candle out front to let other customers know that someone is in there grieving as they're putting their beloved animal down but while I was in there grieving all that I heard was laughter and carrying on out in the waiting room . I walked out in the waiting room and was the candle lit no not at all not a care in the world for what I was going through at that time . Yes I understand they're running a business I get that but don't say one thing and do the opposite it is not good business . If I could have punched her and got away with it she would be laying flat on the ground right now because she is the most rudest person I have ever met in my life! If I ever own a dog again I most definitely will not be bringing them there because the only person with empathy was the girl sitting at the desk.
Expérience négative: Trying to get in contact with someone from here is a joke, after calling the emergency line multiple times, leaving a voicemail and having to call a sister location for them to be unable to do anything to help, i left an email only to get an automated response hours later. eventually someone responded and it disregarded every concern/question/statement i had.
Expérience fantastique: Great experience for your pets ! Very welcoming.
Expérience fantastique: Trust them whole heartedly with the care of our pets! They work with low income populations for their pet needs. Costs are low, but demand is high for this population. There are times because they are in such high demand they can't meet appointment times as the pet before you is extremely sick....so be patient. They are kind, caring, compationate and we trust no one else with the care of our pets.
Expérience fantastique: It is a very great place, good service, kind and very caring for the animals well-being I strongly recommend it, I have been using their service for 6 years
Expérience fantastique: Very friendly staff. They made my dog's spaying process as comfortable as possible for her. Definitely recommend for people of lower income.
Expérience négative: Took our newly adopted dog here for her spay as we were instructed by the rescue. Afterwards, she was given to us with a swollen tongue and completely out of it to the point that she was carried out to my fiancé. My fiancé asked "Is my dog okay" and their response was "Yeah she will be okay". We ended up having to bring her back an hour later for further treatment. **EDIT We also learned that she was not given her rabies vaccine before being spayed. This is a requirement before dogs being spayed/neutered. So the fact that they did not do what they were required to do give me even worse thought with how they treat the animals that visit this hospital. I will never use this veterinary hospital voluntarily and I would also suggest no one else use them so that something terrible doesn't happen to your own animals.
Expérience positive: I highly recommend this place in base my experience with my cat .Peanut had an eye surgery and I could not been more happy than I am right now. Dr. Berk did a wonderful job. Staff are friendly , big shout out to Nathy , she was so kind, patience , wonderful and helpful during this process, thank you . The reason Im giving them 4 out of 5 is because I believe to check up the patient after the surgery should be free, at least the first appointment , other of that excellent place to take your pet .❤️
Expérience négative: You have to prove to them your low income. I am a one income household yet they still need a full financial assessment to see my cat. Disappointing - and a waste of time.
Expérience négative: Not recommended!! MGR is a joke. Had a cat fixed it came home not breathing. I did cpr, called a friend gave it sugar. Found out they do not give iv fluids during surgery so it bottomed out. Almost lost the last. He had nothing to say. No more cats get fixed there. I don't care how cheap it is. They just want your money. Cats had mites used crappier stuff on cats didn't work. They also had yeast infections all 4 of them but was not recognized by the vet. We took another sick cat in blood work done, oh everything is fine they say. Cat isn't eating. Loosing weight, sick sick sick. Charged us for meds we never got cause they didn't have it but didn't tell us. Oh then kidney failure. Has to be put down. In there 10 calls to the Mgr doesn't return one of them. I flip out on him and he demands I appologize. Whaaaaat. Because I don't appologize to the little man Ms Martha backs him and bands me with a registered letter. She didn't even say anything it was her cat and she was crying. They took all her money allowed her to make referrals but now won't help her cat. Martha get your kitchener office in line! Animals are dying.
Expérience négative: They do not care about your pets well-being, only interested in neutering/spaying your pet. Horrible and rude customer service on top of that. They claim to help low income people's pets but deny vet care even emergency care unless they neuter/spay regardless if the pet is old enough to do so. I would not recommend them in any capacity, your better offworking out a deal with a normal vet.
Expérience fantastique: I am truly grateful to the clinic staff. They saved my dog's life. The care was excellent, and it's worth mentioning that Nurse Natalia Gutiérrez, who helped me throughout this entire process, is a professional in every sense of the word. I recommend this place; they care for and save your pets.
Expérience négative: Really disappointed with the lack of communication. I called twice to ask about the results of my cats blood test (who is doing really poorly and is at the cusp of death because of her lack of eating). And my husband called once to inquire. We asked the vet to call us back and while they took down our request each and every time and promised a vet will call us back between appointments the vet never did. It’s been 2 weeks since the blood test and we were told it would be max 48 hours to get the results, even probably the next morning. We are still waiting on the results. They then told us they would need to do more testing but again the vet never talked to us via phone about the results and why she thinks we need more testing. Before we spend money I would like to be informed. My cat isn’t doing well still and it seems like they just don’t care.
Expérience fantastique: We had such a great first visitThe staff is very nice and welcoming. They treated my sweet Moka boy so nice and put him at ease and he got lots of liver treats which he loves I really appreciated the Doctor who extensively examined my sweet Moka. I would have to say this is the best experience I’ve had at a Veterinary clinic. Moka was treated so good. Thank you so much ☺️
Expérience fantastique: Amazing staff and vets. My cat was dying and they took such good care of him for his blockage
Expérience fantastique: Staff are very kind. Good quality care. My dog likes them too.
Expérience fantastique: I’m incredibly grateful for East Village Animal Hospital! From the very first moment, I felt welcomed and at ease, especially because they speak Spanish and truly understand our needs. Bringing my cat here was one of the best decisions I’ve made: they treated my cat with so much love, patience, and professionalism. You can tell they genuinely love animals and are committed to saving lives and caring for every paw and every little footprint. Thank you for making me feel at home and for treating my furry friend like part of your family. I highly recommend this place with my eyes closed!
Expérience fantastique: Super friendly staff. Great value. We could hear the vet from the front office comforting our little pup! So sweet.
Expérience fantastique: Excellent experience! I had my kitten neutered here this Monday, and the staff did a fantastic job taking care of him. Everyone was friendly, and the environment was welcoming and professional. Highly recommend!
Expérience fantastique: The vet is very informative and sweet. All the staff is welcoming and nice.
Expérience fantastique: Excellent experience! Staff were super friendly and carried out a bunch of kitty carriers for me that I was transporting back to a rescue. I really appreciated their help!
Expérience négative: Please DO NOT SUPPORT THESE ANIMALS!! They force you to spay/neuter your dog if you need subsidized help! Or any help from them! This is disgusting !
Expérience négative: I expected more compassion for senior dogs. I brought my female i as she has a large lump on jer breast. They insist on nutering her first. She is 12 no longer in heat and i cant afford 2 surgeries nor do i want to put my dog through 2 surgerie! The surgery i feel is urgent is the large mass on her breast i have begged them i have begged them to remove it but they refuse to if i wont nuter her. I shouldnt be a reguirement especially for old dogs. She has never had a puppy nor able to anymore. I dont breed. I love my dog and just want her to be comfortable. Its a service for low income but forcing someone to pay for 2 surgeries is noy right. I believe i should be able to make descissions on my dogs behalf especially since im the one who loves her
Expérience fantastique: Great staff Good work they definitely love their animals Very knowledgeable doctors. Staff are very respectful .. Makes things easier when you have people that actually care. Thanks, guys. Keep up the good work.
Expérience fantastique: This is such a great place I took my lilly there to get fixed shots and chipped and they we so loving to my dog and so do nice to me thank you for caring for my lilly she so doing great 2 days after the surgery so thank you Christine ,& Lilly too
Expérience fantastique: I’ve been using EVAH - Kitchener for almost 10 years. I never thought of writing a review about them. It is a veterinary clinic for pets who live within a low income household. I have 2 cats (siblings) one of them is special needs. When he was being diagnosed (he has 2 different diseases) one of the veterinarian’s went out of her way to make a proper assessment and diagnosis. He is receiving the best treatment and care. I am blessed and grateful that his sister is just fine. All the staff are cheerful and helpful.
Expérience fantastique: This is the first time I have been to east village vets, my Rottweiler was neutered today, they are a very busy place and a lot of great staff, I would refer anybody there, they were very helpful and explain everything. Very good friendly place
Expérience fantastique: I have been taking my 4 year old dog here for the past two years & I have nothing but amazing things to say about EVAH. They are kind, and really listen to your concerns! Dr. Allison Armstrong is amazing & so are the vet techs & all of the staff at the front desk. I travel to come to this location simply because of their amazing service & kindness.
Expérience fantastique: Very kind and most helpful when dealing with pets I don’t feel judge for low income I believe to get the best service possible , I have even turned my son on to them ! He thinks they are the best
Expérience fantastique: I took my 13-year-old senior chihuahua to East Village Animal Hospital for a somewhat emergency spay due to suspected pyo, which we found out about 3 months ago.. (due to money concerns we were just able to do the surgery now) and the experience was absolutely outstanding. I was very worried because of her age and the severity of the condition, but Dr. Maga and the vet technician were incredibly kind, patient, and compassionate during the pre-surgical appointment. They answered all my questions thoroughly and made sure I understood every step of the process, which helped ease my concerns. This clinic has been an absolute godsend for people with limited income. After my dog's bloodwork confirmed she was a good candidate for surgery, the team reassured me that it would go smoothly since she wasn’t as sick as before (according to her bloodwork, but still needing to do the surgery or course). We scheduled the procedure promptly for the next morning. Dr. Jamie (as my dad mentioned) performed the surgery, and the entire team was incredible—hardworking, honest, and highly skilled. The discharge process was excellent according to my dad, they provided clear and prompt post-operative care instructions, ensuring I knew exactly how to care for my chi at home. The team also went above and beyond by refunding some of the costs because the surgery ended up being simpler than anticipated, showing how honest and fair they are. My chi is now home, bright as ever and full of life, and recovering so well that I have to remind her to rest! I can’t thank this incredible team enough for their help during such a stressful time in my life. Im so grateful to have my senior chi healthy and with me, and grateful for this team. They are truly doing God’s work, and I’ll definitely be bringing my doggo here for any future checkups or concerns. Thank you, East Village Animal Hospital, for taking such good care of my baby. Many blessings to you all!
Expérience fantastique: Very caring workers and great prices. Clean, friendly, and lots of lovely dogs. I am continuing to trust my dogs' care to them except in emergencies. They don't do emergency appts.
Expérience fantastique: EVAH is wonderful! Dr.Martha is very friendly to both “hooman” and pet, I have taken both dogs to EVAH when they do their monthly clinic in Lively, ON for both a spay and a neuter and everything went so great. My older dog was done 6 years ago and even back then they were wonderful. They are very thorough, very patient and kind. They tell you not to worry about anything with ANY question to reach out or send them photos via email and they are SO quick to respond. I highly recommend EVAH to ANYONE with a dog or cat family member, not only was my anxious puppy comfortable there with the staff my older protective anxious dog(Toby) went there recently for a checkup and was talking up a storm with Dr.Martha and they had a very detailed conversation with one another, she sat on the floor with him and they chatted LOL. I loved it, to see both animals well cared for, well loved and calm during their stay at EVAH made me very at ease and happy with these ladies. Pick EVAH, you will NOT be disappointed. Thank you ladies!
Expérience fantastique: Very good staff, very patient with me and my dog. Very helpful indeed for those of us on a fixed income
Expérience fantastique: The staff took such good care of the kittens and they were so helpful when we picked them up. These people are so amazing and I appreciate them greatly.
Expérience positive: They were kind of rude to me and also u paid to have my cats nails trimmed they said they did it but didn't.
Expérience fantastique: The staff here are really wonderful. I live in Guelph and I travel to use their clinic, just because of the great service. So kind and professional; they all clearly love their jobs and love helping animals.
Expérience fantastique: Took my pets here and they were really great with caring for my fur babies. The knowledge that was provided made me feel confident that they were well taken care of
Expérience fantastique: I have nothing but praise for the staff and doctors of East Village Animal Hospital in Kitchener. I took my cat to be euthanize and they were kind and compassionate to me and Cocoa. I highly recommend this Hospital to anyone else.
Expérience négative: I have no words We took my pup here for a check up as we felt something was wrong with him. Vet said he was fine and proceeded to give him his shots. It was suggested to come back in Sept and get blood work done along with another shot. We brought him home and within 24hrs he quickly began to decline. We called to get an appointment to bring him back to be checked again and the staff were super rude and no help at all. They didn't give a hoot that he was in distress and told us to call the London or Hamilton clinic because they are all booked for the month. We ended up taking him to the emergency vet and were informed that he was very sick. The minute the vet walked in we knew it wasn't good. They immediately said something wasn't right and ordered blood work right away. After explaining his previous appointment they were confused as to how the EVAH Vet didn't see anythjng wrong. Sadly we were left with no choice but to say good bye. We lost our pup not even a week after bringing him to EVAH... I would not recommend going here nor will I ever take another pet here! I'm disgusted with the service and care and hope this doesn't happen to anyone else
Expérience fantastique: They are very awesome and amazing. They know what they are doing and looking after your pets.
Expérience négative: Unbelievable service after a spay. Any vet will offer a courtesy exam when, and if there is a concern with the animal. Gertie, our dog had a lump at the incision site, and this was clearly explained to the vet. A picture was sent for the purpose of opinion, and it was the vet who suggested to bring her back. They wanted to charge for this appointment. Get this very clear. If anything significant happens to this dog, I will beg, or borrow to seek legal advise. This may be geared to income, but you are clearly ripping people off. I hope this review clarifies to animal owners who go here, do not trust them. If the vet made the decision for a recheck, then it seems very clear that the possibility for a surgery screw up, very well could be the case. Still, they wanted to charge for the appointment. We are going to the local news as well any one who will listen, to try and make some sense off this, as there is little to by no compassion at this vets. By all means, anyone with bad reviews with heartbreaking results, need to rally at local news to protect our pets from this animal hospital. One excuse after the other.
Expérience fantastique: Thank you so much for the kind care and attention you showed Braelie and I today. I cna tell she's in good hands.
Expérience fantastique: Amazing work with rescue groups and lower income cost adjustments if needed. They're making a huge difference with the work they do for our community and the rescue groups by working side by side with them! I appreciate everything EVAH does for our furry friends!
Expérience fantastique: I hardly recommend EVAH Animal Hospital ,they really care for your pet. I took my little dog for a ear polyp removal and Dr Jones did a great job she performed a good sergury for my doggie. So far i see her happy and back to normal . After try other vet hospitals that only want to rip you off i feel I found the best clinic for my dog care.Thamks for your help again
Expérience fantastique: Took awesome care of my cat Pandora-Light when she had an infection and needed an emergency spaying procedure. Their continued care of her during her anemia has been amazing as well. Honestly their techs, vets, surgeons, doctors, secretary and other staff genuinely care about the animals they treat and they make healthcare accessible for all animals and animal owners in the area. Edit: They are also very accessible to people on ODSP or financial assistance when compared to other veterinarians in the area! Highly recommend calling about any questions and checking out their services online if you're interested or curious about finding out more!
Expérience fantastique: Very friendly staff, and amazing with working out the fastest date to get your furbaby in asap. The vet herself is awesome and explains evrything you'd need to know and my dog loved her even when giving needle and taking blood. She was amazing. Definitely recommend to everyone.
Expérience négative: PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOU ANIMALS HERE I’m outraged with how this clinic runs. I brought my dog in because she was showing signs of kidney issues (my previous dog passed of lepto and she was starting to show the same signs) I was told verbally a dose, not thinking about reading the label on the bottle until 12 days into her treatment that I was giving her half the doseage needed. They told me to continue dosage normally as stated on the bottle. My dog was not doing well and knew I was needing to put her down. I brought her in expressing if her kidney levels were double, that I knew I’d have to put her down, and the techs said “let’s put a pin in it” the vet pushed another round of treatment even though she was starting to show end of life signs like wanting to wander outside and poke around (completely out of character for her) they sent her home without the blood results (after an hour of trying to get blood taken may I add because her blood pressure was so low) that in fact her kidney levels were in fact double and her thyroid is starting to drop function. My dog died not even 18 hours after being sent home and needing to carry her through my apartment building (German shepherd mastiff) and gave them instructions I wanted the one blanket I wrapped her in. Both blankets, I was told by the vet they were burned with her body, upon further investigation they were just thrown away. The miscommunication, lack of compassion, understanding and listening skills is outrageous at this clinic. PLEASE do not take your pet there if you want them to die, be frustrated and not listened to at all.
Expérience fantastique: Edit to add: the day after my dogs spay she started peeing blood. I had no idea if it was from the spay or what. So I called them after hours, left a message. They called me this morning but I was sleeping. They called again just as I woke up and told me to bring nyla in today at 430. And my experience this time was even better than the last. I walked in and the vet tech came out and recognized me and nyla. Right off the bat she was extremely friendly and welcoming. We weighed nyla and then we were set up in a room. The vet tech came in and examined nyla. She was so gentle and sweet with my girl. She asked us some questions, we asked her some questions and she was thorough with her answers. The vet came in and she was honestly the most sweetest person. I couldn't have asked for a better vet. She was so gentle with nyla, and really just so friendly and amazing. She was sweet and answered our questions. Honestly I have no words for how amazing the team is there. No judgment either. I was rattled.with anxiety all day and as soon as I walked in and felt the warmth and love from everyone is slowly faded away and I walked out grateful and smiling. Nyla has a suspected uti (not due to the spay). I brought my dog, Nyla in today for her spay. The staff was extremely friendly and so sweet with her this morning. When I picked her up this afternoon, the staff were very thorough in explaining the dos and don't for after a surgery. They were friendly, considerate, respectful and just so amazing with the her. I'm so grateful for the vet techs, and the vet themselves. It was an amazing experience even though I know my pup probably wasn't having a great time lol. My only complaint is the process in the morning of the drop off. But I understand that's just how to clinic works. So if you work and make an appointment, I highly recommend finding someone who can cover for you at work because it is a lengthy process.
Expérience fantastique: Both my male dogs have been neutered here, one last year and one last week. Very good with the animals, my chihuahua is really skidish and they worked with him. Bill is based on annual income which keeps it affordable.
Expérience fantastique: We often transport foster dogs / cats to EVAH for the dog rescue we foster for, and the staff have always been amazing. They are so kind and compassionate.
Expérience fantastique: I absolutely love EVAH!!!! They are hands down the best vet !!! They treat us like family and take care of our little star very well. Thank you for all that you guys do :)
Expérience négative: In the aftermath of my cats death, I just want to say- please do not ever go to East Village Animal Hospital - Kitchener. The first appointment we had I was told blood work came back normal, the second appointment we had I found out I was lied to and that his kidneys were high functioning- according to the vet I was not informed of the kidney issue because she didn’t “think” that’s what was making him ill. And to make matters worse on my second trip in I was not dispensed the medicine that Pepe NEEDED. Only to then be dispensed it three days later and they charge me and only tell me AFTER I PAY that they don’t have the meds in stock. There’s so much more I can go on about - but the real heart breaking thing was just how COLD they were when putting Pepe down. They didn’t light the candle for him, the manager just walked past me bawling my eyes out no a word said to me. This is an awful awful awful veterinary clinic please do not make the same mistakes I did. I whole heartedly believe had I chosen a different vet Pepe might still be here today.
Expérience positive: Staff is excellent. They really seem to care about your pet. Prices are ridiculously high for a place that is supposedto help families on a budget. They bring you in for one thing and if you're not careful they will charge you for a few other shots your pet might need. We spend over 100.00 everytime I've been there. It's the upsell, I don't like.
Expérience fantastique: They had taken my cats overnight for a spay and returned them the next morning, very good price and by the looks of my cats, very great staff! They were happy
Expérience fantastique: This is an exceptional veterinarian practice! Everyone from the vet, vet techs & administration are phenomenal. They really care about your animal's and go above and beyond the services they offer. They also offer prices for low income earners such as myself. My precious cat Felix was on death's door, and within 2 days of working closely with him with love and expertise, we've been able to turn a corner with a much brighter prognosis. Thank you to everyone at the hospital!
Expérience négative: This is heartbreaking and frustrating for me to write but it needs to be said. Took my 3 year old cat Romeo to this vet because of a face scab and just wanting to know the cause. The vet had no idea what the cause was and gave him 3 shots and some medication stating that if he doesn’t get better to bring him back. We paid $175 but we said it’s ok anything for my cat. 5 days later we saw no difference so we called and asked to bring him in and were told we had to pay an additional $30 just for the vet to see him again, as a vet that states to help low income families this made no sense because we already paid and nothing was done and my cat was the same. Over email and phone its so obvious they really don’t care it’s more about making money in the name of “helping” as much people as possible. A week later my cat had to be taken to the emergency and was put on oxygen. Didn’t have time to do tests to truly figure out what was wrong since he went from ok to being critical. He passed away that night in the emergency surrounded by my whole family. I can’t really put into words the pain I feel in this moment but let this just be a warning for all the pet parents out there, if you can afford it, go to a better vet. They don’t help here and who knows maybe if they actually knew what they were doing a week ago when I took Romeo, my child would still be with me today. :(
Expérience fantastique: Amazingly friendly staff that truly care about your pets and treat them like family. They offered assistance every step of the way for my dogs neutering. They made aftercare simple
Expérience fantastique: Very kind & professional . Very pleased with our first experience with this vet. Will definitely keep going fo our Little girls ( dog) needs ❤ !!!
Expérience fantastique: My dog was spayed here from the rescue group I adopted her in. The staff at EVAH were very nice. My dog is scared of people and they were very patient with her.
Expérience fantastique: Super nice staff and they help with all questions you may have. A little busy so make sure you are patient and wait, breaks my heart that people are rude to the staff that are working very hard to help us. Thanks for offering this service I can provide my pets the healthcare they deserve thanks to you guys!
Expérience fantastique: This summer we rescued three tiny, sickly kittens from a farm. They were close to death. Thankfully, our vet in Norwich helped us through most of it. Unfortunately, we had one very sick kitten whose eye burst from infection and needed immediate removal. Our vet referred us to EVAH because they knew that we couldn't afford the regular vet price. Thankfully, due to being on Disability, EVAH was able to help us with this surgery at a price we could easier afford. Not only did their vet, Dr. Shannon, take the kitten in for surgery the very next day, but I later found out she did it on her day off. You can't how much we appreciated this and how much it meant to us because it saved this kitten an unnecessary longer period of pain and suffering for a kitten that had already been suffering enough. Thank you, EVAH. You guys are fantastic and I appreciate you.
Expérience négative: I am writing this review and hope that it will save At LEAST ONE LIFE of someone’s beloved pet. I brought my kitten to be neutured when he was 8 months old to the East Village Hospital. I left my healthy kitten and in the end of the day , after the surgery , I received him back and was asked to open the carrier at home only. I followed the advice, I did not check his condition at the Hospital. At home I took him out of the cage. He was lying there , in prostration, all soaked in his urine. He had two incisions . One of them was on his abdomen. Surely the incision was in urine as well. For the next few days the symptoms of infection appeared as was expected. He got very bad fever, vomiting , he was in pain , the pus was oozing of his incision. I brought him back to the same place first. After The Vet checked his vitals , I asked how is his temperature ? She said he has No fever. Which was not true. He did have a bad fever. The spot where he would lie down was hot like you kept a hot iron there. His ears were extremely hot as well. I asked if she would know by any chance what happened at the surgery ? Why I received him back all in the urine ? I shared my concern about him getting an infection , but I had not received a clear response. I asked the Dr. to send me her conclusion about his condition with detailed description via e-mail. She wrote that the kitten doesnt have any fever , and the incision looked like that because he licked the wound. Which was absolute nonsense as I kept the collar on at all the times. When I asked the Hospital to tell me surgeon’ s name , who performed a surgery , my request was denied. I received an e-mail, that „ such information cant be shared „ After I brought my kitten to a different vet clinic , they confirmed that he did have fever. Fever as a result of the infection . The kitten survived for few more months , Which , as I was told , was a miracle . We had some moments when he slightly improved but then he felt worse. I had to go to the clinic again . And I simply didnt have funds to go to any other place than EVA Hospital. So I took him to the vet again. Unfortunately , without previous diagnostics ( No X ray or at least blood work was done prior the treatment ) they administered him liquid subq. Which lead to aedema of the lungs. I had to go to a different vet again. This time I already didnt care how much I had to spend to save him. But again , the vet at the other clinic after all of the necessary tests and X ray told me that Unfortunately the infection got too far. In addition , this liquid subq totally ruined his lungs. My little Boy passed away …, he went through a lot and he had been suffering tremendeously. I beg you now : before you will take a decision to neuture your cat ! Think twice if you really want take that risk and if you REALLLY want to do it there ?! Read more information online ! Read about consequences and post surgical complications !! Maybe your cat doesnt have to be neutured !!! Any surgery IS a surgery ! If thats something not essential, better refuse it ! If you believe that your cat needs to be neutured still : Collect money and go to more trustworthy place ! Better you spend more in the beginning but your little one will be alive and hopefully healthy.
Expérience fantastique: Awesome service!! So happy I was able to get in with them! My kitty got fixed and is doing great, all the staff were so nice to deal with as well!
Expérience négative: wow DO NOT COME HERE! MY pup has a bad ear infection as i was passing by i stopped in to make an appointment for him as we dont have him a vet yet and they were so rude and mean i was disgusted by there attitude and approach to help a puppy in distress
Expérience positive: Super caring staff, and for low income individuals this place is so incredibly awesome to have available. Only downside is they are extremely busy, but it’s understandable.
Expérience fantastique: Drove from London to have my dog at EVAH in Kitchener for a dental procedure and lipoma removal...the veterinarian and all the staff were kind, very helpful and professional...cost was very reasonable...
Expérience fantastique: Phenomenonal service! Everyone that works here is caring, compassionate and kind! They went above and beyond! I can not say enough about this clinic! I'm grateful to have found them!!
Expérience positive: I called to get information about the services they offer and how it works and the receptionist was very informative and very polite. I had a lot of questions and she answered them all and did not seem agitated by the fact that I was taking a little bit of more overtime then most. You can tell that they were busy by the background noise, and yet she still took the time.
Expérience fantastique: These people look at you and your animal and actually want to help. Where as most vets look at you and know you'll go into debt just to help their pet and take advantage of that. They are more willing to work with you and your situation than any place I've ever taken my animals.
Expérience fantastique: Amazing kind people that want to help you and your pets! The client has to do a couple of things to prove eligibility but it is so worth it I can’t even say it enough! I just saved a friend $700 by letting him know this place exists as he didn’t and was going to very expensive place in Cambridge!!!! So, that tells me it’s a big deal! Great staff as well, Very helpful indeed!
Expérience fantastique: Thank you EVAH !!! I cannot rave enough. Our families companion is in recovery and doing so good, the Vet and Tec's were extremely compassionate, beyond professional, and very informative. Big up's to Jamie you are a superstar.
Expérience fantastique: Your kindness and compassion to us is above and beyond. You are all a special kind of people. Please keep up the wonderful and caring work that you do. I want to thank you for being there for me and my dog and for all you have done. You made Nash's passing very peaceful. Thank so much! Nash, Cheryl and Jim.
Expérience positive: Staff was friendly and accommodating. After shopping around for service prices theirs was the best price. They work to help lower income situations.
Expérience fantastique: I took my dog,, Roxy, to be spayed. They were very efficient. The 8:30 morning appointment was exactly on time and so was the 4:00 pickup. Staff were friendly and informative. Roxy slept well that night and had no after-effects from the surgery. The incision scar is thin and very tidy. I am very happy with the whole experience.
Expérience fantastique: We adopted a dog through a rescue that works with EVAH KW, he needed blood work and dental before we could formally adopt. The staff was beyond friendly and helpful! Always patient and helpful with questions and making sure everything is documented. They were amazing from our 1st visit, to helping us transfer his files to our own vet. These people treat everyone and every animal (I saw when there) with kindness and respect! Amazing job EVAH! Thank you for everything!!!
Expérience négative: Never made it. I was told my appt was on a Monday. Drove 4-1/2hrs to the area, got a hotel room on the Sunday, then Sunday night i was told the appt was Tuesday. Not the fault of the animal hospital. It was the fault of the dog rescue
Expérience négative: Do NOT GO HERE I REPEAT DO NOT GO HERE THIS PLACE KILLED MY 6 month OLD KITTEN they NEUTRED him and I returned with him because he was sick after the operation they told me he was fine and the proceded to give him antinautsea medication brought him home he would eat or drink was drooling everywhere and he literally died the next day ! ❤️
Expérience fantastique: There service is prompt and efficient, with the upmost care taken into consideration.
Expérience fantastique: THANK YOU! I'm so appreciative evahwas there to help my dog in need for a surgery. The vets, techs, and staff were all very helpful throughout the entire process from initial appointment to post-surgery including follow-ups. My write-up for home care and medications was exceptional. I did have to travel between the other locations for diagnostic testing which may be a barrier for some, but I feel very happy about evah being and option for me!
