Both doctors we've seen have taken some time to get to know us and our puppy. We have been super happy with the care we've received. Very clean clinic, well organized, efficient, and a friendly team! Happy to have found them.

Expérience négative: I have been taking my cat to this clinic for over a year. Initially, he was recommended a monthly injectable arthritis medication. Over the course of the year, I noticed the price of this medication increased three times. While the increases were only a few dollars each time, it did raise some questions about pricing consistency. In October, my cat had an emergency urinary tract infection and was taken to an emergency vet the day before his scheduled appointment at this clinic. I called to cancel the appointment and explained the situation, and the staff were completely understanding. However, it has now been over two months since my cat has missed his regular injections, and I have not received a single follow-up call or email. No one has checked in to see if he’s okay, asked about rescheduling, or expressed any concern that we had not been to the clinic for his monthly treatment. Interestingly, my cat seems to be doing really well without these injections, which makes me question whether they were actually beneficial. I appreciate their understanding at the time of the cancellation, but the lack of follow-up and communication since then has me really thinking if this clinic actually cared about my pet or just my pockets.

Expérience fantastique: I brought my 12 week old Frenchie into Legacy Vet Clinic today for her cherry eye, and they were nothing short of amazing. They squeezed us in last minute and treated her with so much love and care.. More than I could have asked for. The ladies at the front fest were incredible & so sweet!! They gave her snuggles and made us feel soo welcome. You can tell they genuinely love the animals that come through their doors. Dr. Flaig was phenomenal. She handled her quickly and with care and explained everything so clearly. She got her taken care of and back out the door in no time. I left with zero worries and total confidence in their care. I’m so grateful for the whole team. Highly recommend them as they truly go above and beyond. You won’t be disappointed if you chose to let them care for your animals.

Expérience fantastique: We've been taking our cats here for years and have always had extremely positive experiences.The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. The facility has specific rooms that are more 'Cat friendly/focused', which we appreciate so much. Our appointments are always on time and never feel rushed or transactional - they genuinely care about you and your pets wellbeing. We actually tried switching clinics after we moved recently, but switched back after one appointment. The wonderful team of staff and their commitment to animal care is why I trust this clinic and strongly encourage others to do the same!

Expérience fantastique: First time we have visited this vet, we just got an 8 week old mini Golden Retriever. The reception desk were so welcoming, the vet was so full of advice, and they explained the monthly plan they have (for 1 year) really clearly to us. We feel this whole practice really cares about their patients (pets) and we are really pleased that chose this vet - it was highly recommended to us a neighbour.

Expérience fantastique: Our dog recently had an anal glad rupture and we decided to look for a new veterinary clinic as our old one was across the city. After looking at reviews near our home we came across this clinic. Called and they said they were fully booked but they did not leave it there and asked what seemed to be the problem. After explaining she went to go talk to the vet and said the vet thinks that our dog should be seen day of so they squeezed us in. Arriving at the clinic it was super clean and nice looking, staff greeted us right away and was kind. Our vet Virginia Woo was super kind, she made sure our dog was super comfortable being there. Her interaction with our dog made us think of keeping her as our main vet so now we will schedule all our dog needs with her. She explained everything super well to us and even broke down the cost of everything. I would highly recommend coming here as the vet, vet tech, and receptionist were super kind. They even followed up the next day to make sure our dog was feeling fine. felt like they didn't just treat us like another appointment but had the best interest for our dog.

Expérience fantastique: We had been with the same vet in Okotoks for over 13 years, and one of the main reasons we stayed was because it was privately owned and genuinely cared for pets and their owners. About a year ago, things started to change. Getting an appointment with an actual vet became difficult, the staff grew increasingly unfriendly, and it just didn’t feel the same anymore. We later found out the clinic had been bought out by a large corporation, and unfortunately everything started feeling like a transaction rather than care. Very sad to see. I dreaded the idea of finding a new vet, but I decided to give Legacy Vet Clinic a try. The many positive Google reviews caught my attention, and from the very first phone call I got a good vibe. The staff were welcoming and helpful, and when I met the vet I was honestly relieved. For the first time in a very long while, I felt like I was with a vet who genuinely cares. Legacy Vet Clinic reminded me what good veterinary care should feel like, and I’m grateful to have found them. Highly recommended!

Cannot say enough about the patience and guidance we got when we arrived. Cancer isn’t the greatest news, regardless we were guided compassionately, with our fur baby’s well being, being #1. We will be back and look forward to our new relationship.

Expérience négative: My dog was prescribed a costly medication, but there was no improvement in her symptoms. Today, after visiting another clinic, I learned that the medication had not been necessary in the first place. While the vet was kind, I now question how knowledgeable they truly are. RESPONSE TO THE RESPONSE FROM THE OWNER Hi Jason, First, thank you for your response. Regarding the expensive medication prescribed by the vet we saw at Legacy Vet, our new vet advised us that it was unnecessary; my dog did not need to take it. Considering that the medication alone cost over $150 (with the total visit amounting to about $600), I can’t help but wonder - what would be the purpose of continuing this discussion unless there is a possibility of reimbursement? I’ve also noticed that other reviewers have raised similar concerns. Their question was essentially the same: Would Legacy Vet provide a free exam after what turned out to be a meaningless and expensive visit? The answer given was no, and those pet owners were asked to come back and pay more for additional exams. That makes me question what meaningful outcome could come from further conversation. Am I simply going to be asked to return for more exams? We chose Legacy Vet only because we had moved and could no longer go to our previous vet, whom we really liked. He never once recommended dental scaling - despite noting a small amount of tartar, he said regular brushing would be enough. (Dental care was one of his specialties.) At Legacy Vet, however, scaling was recommended immediately at the annual check-up (quoted at $1,444.57), and I was told that if we booked the procedure the same day, we’d receive a discount. It honestly made me wonder whether I was at a medical clinic or dealing with a business more interested in money than care. On your website, all of your team members said you all care and love animals. Animal or money? On top of that, Legacy Vet even had the wrong information about my dog’s birthday - despite assuring me that all records would be transferred from our previous vet, who had the correct details. As a result, Legacy sent a birthday email on the wrong date. There were many issues like this, but I continued bringing my dog only because I worried that switching clinics again might stress her out. That said, I don’t want to call this “overprescribing.” Rather than placing blame, I would put it this way: it would have been much better if we had seen a more knowledgeable vet at the time. I believe she did her best within the limits of what she knew. Otherwise, I don’t see much meaning in pursuing this further. I also feel that bringing up what our new vet has said directly with Legacy would be somewhat disrespectful to our new vet. One more point: I found the line you wrote as “the owner” - “I am unable to find your profile based on the info listed on your review” - quite concerning. It can easily be misunderstood. I’m sure you understand what I mean. Many business owners use similar wording, but it often comes across as, “You’re not really our customer, are you?” Since this is a public space where anyone can read reviews, it’s natural that pet families would not want to share personal details. It’s no different from leaving a review for a human medical clinic without including your full name. In my opinion, it would have been much better if that line had not been included at all. I doubt that ending with such a remark creates a positive impression for pet owners considering Legacy Vet Clinic. Let me give you one last piece of advice. I noticed you’ve responded in a similar way to other pet owners as well. If someone leaves a 1-star review saying they are disappointed, there is virtually no chance they will want to continue the conversation with Legacy Vet or come back. In those cases, it’s best to simply end the reply with something like, “We’re sorry to hear that,” or not respond at all. And especially, I strongly recommend avoiding the line, “I am unable to find your profile based on the info listed on your review.”

Expérience fantastique: We needed vaccines for our 3mo puppy and I happened to be in the area of Legacy and popped in. The front end staff, especially Taylor, were so friendly and accommodating. There was no pressure and she was happy to answer any questions I had. The facility is bright and clean, and with several veterinarians on staff I was able to easily book an appointment for the following week. Again, all staff were so friendly when we arrived for the appointment and Dr Jennifer Flaig was patient with all questions I had and very thorough with our puppy This will be our clinic for Maizy and I would highly recommend .

Expérience fantastique: So thankful we were referred to Legacy Veterinary Clinic! Upon contacting this clinic when my 2 year old miniature doodle became very ill, she was seen that same day. Following blood tests that day, we learned our dog had developed a very concerning level of liver disease. Dr Maryam was very compassionate, a good listener, and explained things very clearly. With excellent medication, we are so pleased that our dog has regained her health 3 weeks later.

Expérience négative: I brought my cat in to get his ears checked a couple weeks ago. She determined he had an ear infection and that it was not ear mites. She then asked if I wanted to treat him for ear mites anyway. I said no, why would I do that? Then she talked me into a vaccination booster. He never goes outside, but sure go ahead. Then she asked if I wanted to get him dewormed. I said does he have worms? No. Yeah, I’ll pass. $315 later I was out the door with some medication for his ear infection. I thought it was strange that the exam didn’t include your usual check the teeth, temperature, weight etc etc. Well, that was two weeks ago and his ears have only gotten worse. The poor guy is an agony. The medication did not work and I 100% administered it properly. I called the vet today to let them know. He said we can schedule an appointment. I said great, there won’t be any charge for that I assume? He said no, you have to pay for another examination. I was extremely upset. I thought he was already diagnosed with an ear infection? It is obvious this clinic doesn’t give a damn about anything but money. I literally wasted $315 for them to do nothing for me and now they want more money while my cat suffers. Apparently, you have to be wealthy to own a pet nowadays. This clinic should be ashamed of themselves. Thanks for nothing.

They know that little touches count and are very good at calming the Guardian/Pet Parent who in doing so then calms their pet. Location is convenient with lots of available parking. Definitely has the perfect balance of modern advanced technu and old school time and care that makes you and loved one feel cared for and looked after. So glad we moved to this clinic!

The front desk staff, the techs and the vets I have interacted have always been wonderful to speak with and are great with our dog. We never feel rushed in the appointment and our concerns have always been addressed with care and professionalism.

Expérience fantastique: Brought my cat in after a nasty fall and Dr Flaig was extremely good with her. She was very kind with our cat and answered all the questions that I had. When I asked for help trying to figure out a good diet plan for her the clinic sent me a detailed breakdown of our options. Despite a scary experience, Dr Flaig and the staff helped make me feel much less worried. Thanks very much!

Expérience négative: Horrible experience. The staff was disrespectful, and the clinic left me feeling frustrated and misled. Our dog had an annual exam in March last year, and later in November underwent a spay surgery, including all necessary pre-surgical exams. Now, I’m being told she needs another exam this year before they’ll prescribe seasonal medication—which doesn’t make any sense. They seem to overcharge without valid reasons. At this clinic, financial profit appears to matter more than customer care. The customer service is terrible.

We felt so welcomed by everyone there, and they were so accommodating to my dog that can be reactive with other dogs, which made the visit far less stressful for both of us. They are professional, organized, friendly, and listened to my concerns. I'm very glad we switched over!

I can call them just to get advice without them making me feel like I should know better. My dogs are very nervous at the vet and whoever is seeing them is sure to make them feel as safe & comfortable as possible. We have never had a bad experience with Legacy Vet!

Expérience négative: I book an appointment for my 2 cats last Dec and since we adopt it from humane societies there is free examination the other cat was successfully vaccinated but the other isn’t because she have cold and told to wait till she gets better. I booked an appointment last week for my cat and she was ready for poke and go. Today was the appointment 2 hrs before I received a call and was told that there will be $100 examination charge and I was not informed of this when I booked the appointment. I was also told that the poke and go from the first visit was only valid for 7 days today. None of this information was provided at any time before our visit today. So instead of an approximate $80 dollar charge that I was expecting, I got a $180 dollar charge. Not very impressed with this clinic.

Dr. is so empathetic and truly listens to my concerns about my cat. Always takes the time to explore treatment options while also considerate of my situation. She always does follow ups which shows how much she cares about my cat. The clinic’s thoughtful touch, like the personalized name boards, separate rooms for cats and the pheromones, shows they know cats. My cat has many health issues, but I always feel like we’re in the best hands here. I trust them completely.

Dr. Maryam and her team took exceptional care of everything, ensuring we stayed calm and reassured throughout the process. Dr. Maryam, along with the entire staff, was incredibly helpful and supportive. Within just two days, they had thoroughly checked everything and confirmed that my dog was perfectly fine. I couldn’t have asked for a better outcome or a more compassionate team. Everyone here is truly lovely, and I highly recommend this clinic to anyone looking for exceptional veterinary care.

They always share test results with me in detail and don’t gloss over things. Most importantly I’m not rushed and they answer all my questions and concerns. Expérience négative: I want to share my personal experience with Legacy veterinary clinic that left me feeling frustrated, misled, and deeply concerned about their billing practices. My two visits to the clinic were filled with shockingly high quotes, unexpected suggestions to rehome or euthanize my beloved dog, and upselling tactics during my puppy’s first visit. It’s important to recognize these issues as they may affect many pet owners, and I hope to shed light on the importance of being informed and proactive when it comes to veterinary care. When my 9-year-old large dog started limping, I took her to the clinic for an X-ray and consultation. The diagnosis was a torn ACL, and I was quoted two options for surgery: one at the hospital for over $11,000 and another at the clinic for over $7,000. Both options were exorbitantly high, and I began questioning the affordability of such a procedure. But what happened next was even more distressing. The clinic suggested I either rehome my dog to someone who could afford the surgery or consider euthanasia. To hear this about a family pet I love so much was heartbreaking and completely out of line. Something didn’t feel right at all. I decided to get a second opinion and took my dog to Strathmore Vet, where the diagnosis was the same: surgery was indeed necessary. However, the price was $4,200, and this quote included everything—the surgery, blood work, medications, X-rays, follow-up appointments, and even an overnight stay. This price was nearly half of what the Legacy clinic quoted me! How could the same surgery be so much cheaper at another clinic? The high price at the Legacy clinic, combined with their suggestion of euthanasia, made me wonder if they were price gouging. Their extreme pricing practices left me feeling like my dog’s life and well-being were secondary to their financial gain. Unfortunately, the negative experience didn’t stop there. When I took my puppy to Legacy for her first visit, I was shocked by the level of neglect and upselling. The vet missed that she had an umbilical hernia, a condition that was later identified at Strathmore Vet during a simple cuddle session! Moreover, Legacy tried to convince me that my puppy needed three rounds of shots instead of the recommended two because they claimed we were a week late. And to top it all off, they spent the majority of the visit trying to sell me a puppy package that included a spay surgery for over $700. In contrast, Strathmore offered the same spay surgery for only $400. After these experiences, I am left with one glaring question: Why are these prices so drastically different? Both my dog and puppy needed essential care, but the options at Legacy seemed financially motivated, with no concern for what was best for my pets. While I understand that veterinary clinics need to stay profitable, price gouging and unethical tactics like suggesting euthanasia or rehoming animals to get out of a bill are simply unacceptable. I urge all pet owners to be informed and proactive about their pets’ care. If you feel uncomfortable with a clinic’s pricing or recommendations, get a second opinion—it could save you a lot of money and heartache. In the case of my pets, Strathmore Vet provided the same high-quality care for a fraction of the cost, without the added pressure to make emotionally difficult decisions. Ultimately, our pets are family, and they deserve the best care at a reasonable price, not to be subjected to greedy practices. If you’ve had similar experiences or know someone who has, I encourage you to speak up and share your story. We need to hold clinics accountable and ensure that pet care remains affordable and ethical.

Expérience fantastique: We had our first visit at Legacy Vet clinic today and it was wonderful! The entire team was amazing. The clinic was clean and bright. The nicest part was, unlike most vet clinics, they did not try and upset anything. It didn't feel like they are chasing money, they truly care about their patients. The puppy wellness plan is a great service as well! I absolutely will recommend this clinic to anyone!!!! Our new puppy Holly loved everyone!

You may pay a bit more sometimes compared to say out of town but they balance it out the ways they show up for you and your critters when it matters most . In ways you didn’t know even . Definitely recommend checking them out if on the hunt for a good vet . 4 paws up

Expérience négative: We’ve been here a few times, my first time was with Dr. Woo who was very understanding but each time after that was not a great experience. The first was they stubbed my dogs hot spot so raw it bled for hours and was super angry. The second the vet was too scared to even go near my dog and access her, was sent home with meds that didn’t help at all. The 3rd time my dog was having a false pregnancy and I was told she has mammary gland masses and they should be Aspirated to check for cancer. So basically being told my dog has cancer and they should be removed to prevent spread. So major surgery. When actually she was just having a false pregnancy and she is totally fine… so I spent $350 on unnecessary tests and they would refund me after being very disappointed. I was offered 10 percent off my next visit…. Well I don’t think I’ll be back.

Expérience fantastique: We have been using legacy vet for just about two years for our corgi, they have always been wonderful, they are so great at getting you in as fast as they can and all the vets are fabulous. The front desk staff and techs are always friendly and we have never had a less then stellar visit. We also love the light therapy it has been a lifesaver for our pups occasional skin issues. We love them and highly recommend them! My only complaint would be that I dont want them to get too busy as they are so wonderful!

Expérience négative: We took our puppy here for a professional nail trim and they completely traumatized him. We had previously trimmed his nails ourselves with no issues, but we won a free nail trim so decided to have the professionals do it. BIG MISTAKE! I’d pay to go back in time and not take him in for his nail trim. While waiting for him, I heard him yelp in agony. Then when they brought him out, they said he doesn’t like his one paw being trimmed. Maybe because you hurt him while trimming my it?! We never had an issue trimming his nails ourselves before we took him here. But now he’s so traumatized from this experience that he won’t let us near him to trim them ourselves. He squirms and then runs and hides. I wish we’d never taken him in and it breaks my heart that they hurt my sweet boy and left him traumatized.

She goes into every situation with an open mind and an open heart, respecting the unique beings that each of our babies is. Reception is so kind, lovely and caring and the techs are absolutely amazing. The vets here are also incredible, all of the staff treats my dogs with care and like they are their own animals. I took both my dogs here from the first day I brought them home and they love coming to the vet, no fear and it is never a bad experience. I’ve had many scares and emergencies and the staff is incredibly helpful and will always fit me in for an appointment when I need it. Expérience fantastique: My sweet little Shiba is a very nervous pup. I called in to book her spay appointment and mentioned that she will be nervous. The clinic asked me to bring her in for a weighing prior to the day of surgery and provided medication that would keep her calm and comfortable when she arrived. It worked!!! She was nice and calm and is now peacefully recovering. I know without their special care she would have been traumatized. She is doing so well because of their care before, during and after the surgery. They called and texted to follow up and make sure she was okay and to see if I had any concerns. Legacy Veterinary Clinic provides amazing support and care! My best vet clinic experience ever.

Expérience positive: Overall the experience was good. The receptionists are very friendly. The vet is also nice but I think she didn’t take the time to look at my dog. I booked an examination with my vaccine and my dog was barely touched and I ended up with $200 bill. I don’t mind spending the money for good quality of care, but I don’t think it was the case in this situation.

Expérience fantastique: Great experience at this office. I came in for a simple appointment just to get tick preventative. All the employees were amazing and very welcoming. I would say that the exam my dog received was probably the longest and most thorough. Typically when I try to make a last minute appointment at an office that’s not our primary, I’m usually disappointed by the service but this place really lived up to its rating.

Expérience fantastique: It's a skilled clinic that can give bad news and have their clients leaving happy and confident. Legacy Vet Clinic is that and more! I brought my two cats here and one again a week later for surgery and both experiences were excellent. All the staff I interacted with were friendly. The nurses and Dr were thorough in explaining, detailed in reporting and properly set up expectations for me to be prepared through every step of what's normally a pretty stressful experience. I have already and will continue to recommend Legacy Vet Clinic.

Expérience fantastique: Dr Maryam and her staff are wonderful! Any questions I have had were professionally answered; quotes for spay or surgery followed up on very quickly. My dog is very comfortable in the office, and she loves when the staff come to say hi to her or carry her around. Dr Maryam is well known in the city, with a great reputation. I was recently at a 24/7 emergency clinic and the receptionist was quite pleased that she was our veterinarian. I don't think you can go wrong going to this clinic!
