Fantastic experience: I’ve had quite a few visit to this clinic over the last several months. They are the absolute best. I’ve always been able to book an appointment easily, when my pets required urgent care I was able to get them in quickly, my pets received the best care I could ever hope for. If you’re looking for a clinic that truly cares about your family, this is the place to go!

Fantastic experience: The most respectful, caring, kind hearted staff I’ve ever dealt with! Their hearts are in the right place. They don’t slap you in the face with an insane bill. I had an emergency with my kitty that didn’t make it a few weeks ago, I called and they got him in immediately and took care of him so fast, respectful and gentle. The staff spoke so caring and soft while having my kitty put to sleep. I don’t think I will ever go to another vet clinic again!

Fantastic experience: I must say I am so impressed with Kenmount Road Animal Hospital. last week my 19 year old cat became very unwell and at the last minute they fit us in to say good bye to our beloved cat. When we arrived we were led to a beautiful room with low lighting, soft music, treats for both humans and kitties. very peaceful and calm. The staff members came in and spoke with us and told us all about the procedure and the vet checked her over. Gave us plenty of time to enjoy our last moments with our pet. It was obviously not a good thing to say goodbye to your loved pet. but they made the experience so much easier and relaxing. Even tho it was almost closing time we were not rushed at all. it was probably the best experience I have ever had in a customer service actually people caring about your feelings. ever since the appointment even my mother had not stopped talking about how sweet and caring every staff member was. thank you Kenmount Road Animal Hospital for helping us through this sad time with your kindness and support.

Fantastic experience: Years ago, when this clinic was first opening, I had a rabbit who had gotten really sick. I called to make an appt, and they hadn’t even officially opened the clinic yet. Opening was set for the next day. However, they said that it sounded serious and got me to bring my bunny in that day! They were in the process of setting up the front shop but still took the time to see him. That really showed me how much they care about the animals there. Dr. Laura specifically has been following my cats for the last couple years and she has been fantastic. When we had to unfortunately euthanize one of our kitties, she was so compassionate and understanding. She helped us all the way through that horrible situation. I’ve had nothing but positive experiences with all the staff there and I really do trust them

Fantastic experience: This clinic is always clean, the staff are warm and kind and know their stuff. We trust them with our sweet kitties! One of our cats has had dental work, our other was spayed here. They also supported us through the passing of one of our cats. Very very solid clinic.

Fantastic experience: My Jack russell dino was bitten by another dog. At first I thought he was ok but within a few days he was really Sore. Saturday morning I called Kenmount Road animal hospital and I had Dino in within a few hours. The staff are so compassionate and caring , you know your fur baby is in good hands. Dr. Laura was so through and caring, she did a great job treating Dino. Turned out the bite was infected. Fantastic experience: Our local vet was unable to see us for 2 months so I called a vet that we had used previously. They were also unable to see us until 2 days later but referred us to their sister hospital, Kenmount Rd. We got in that afternoon and we've been here twice in the past month. The staff have been nothing but friendly and informative. We will continue to drive the hour it takes to get here until our dog is no longer able to make the trips all for the amazing service.

Fantastic experience: My husband and I have had several cats over our 26 years together and always seemed to cycle between veterinarians, due to either cost or service issues. We discovered Kenmount Road Animal Hospital a few years back and they have been amazing. They have seen us through to the end of life with one of our cats, and currently are treating another's ongoing health issues. Service is amazing and the people are genuinely caring. If you need a new vet, this is the place!

Negative experience: I have no issue with Staff at the clinic.They were excellent but I do have an issue with costs. I am a senior on a fixed income and yes I love my dog. In the 13 years I have owned him, I have never seen such exuberant costs. I sincerely believe this is a cash grab not just here but all vet clinics. It makes it impossible for pet owners to get care for their pet, thus contributing to pet owners having to give up their love ones or else put them down. This is an ‘industry” that needs some oversight as it is completely out of control. Feb 14- I did get a second opinion and a completely different outcome- because of where the lump is situated on my dog (near his butt hole) I was advised that this would be a risky surgery because of his age and because this is a very delicate area and may cause damage to his anal glands and cause further issues with him pooping and that this was a cyst and could be dealt with without such invasive procedures. I suggest all animal owners get a second opinion - could save you thousands of dollars.

Negative experience: Charged $100 after being told I wasn't going to be charged. They wouldn't even clean my cats wound. Did absolutely nothing and told me I could go home and do it with a face cloth.... was sent away with a post it note for compassionate home care to put my cat down and got a lecture for not getting my cat fixed. Even though there were valid reasons for not having her fixed. Absolutely disgusting behavior. I never make reviews but felt I should warn others of this behavior. Go to a place that cares about your animals enough to at least tell you to have a good day as you leave.

Fantastic experience: This was the first time my Standard Poodle 'Zinnie' and I met Dr. Chelsea Tuff. What an incredible personality! Zinnie fell head over heals in love with Dr. Tuff and endured the physical examination and joint mobility testing without a fuss. Dr. Tuff is an expert with hypodermics. Zinnie didn't even know they had been administered. Great visit for us both and Dr. Tuff isn't just an exceptional animal person she is a wonderful 'people' person as well. We are both very grateful for a very enjoyable visit.

Fantastic experience: We have been bringing out dogs here for a few years now for routine care and vaccinations. It wasn't until one of our beagles had a couple of seizures did I realize how amazing they are. They got us in quickly. Dr Tuff was amazing. She explained everything and knew the best ways to examine our nervous doggie so that he felt the most comfortable. The front desk staff and technicians have all been great. We are thankful the kenmount team was there when we needed them most and we will continue our beagles follow up with them knowing he is in the best hands. Thanks to all the KRAH staff. Fantastic experience: Got appointment within 24 hours was not urgent.The reception checked is in and brought us to exam room.Saw vet within 5 min.Asked many questions and she answered.

Fantastic experience: The doctor was very kind and helped me with questions I had regarding food, flea treatment etc. She helped me understand my kitten's behavior. It was a positive visit. My kitten was not eating wet food and I had given up on it. But because it is important to her diet, she encouraged me to not give up on her and keep offering it to her. Anyway, I bought a tin of Purina kitten food, essential care and she ate it for her supper. Awesome.!!!

Fantastic experience: Dr. Van Dyke and the entire team at KRAH are always such a pleasure to deal with and always give lots of love to my pug. He has been a patient of theirs since we brought him home in February 2023 (pic below), and he always has a blast!

Fantastic experience: My cat Oscar passed away a month ago and he was dying on my way to the vet in my arms. BY the time I got there he had passed. They were just wonderful. Very kind & compassionate. He was such a sweet cat. He has been cremated now. I have a new kitty now and will be making an appointment to bring her in for a check up shortly. She is only 3 months old so too young to be spayed but will take her there in their capable hands. Her name is Mollie Malone & cute as a button.

Negative experience: The vet shamed me while I was crying to surrender my cat so he could get a surgery he didn’t need (that most likely would’ve killed him) I went there last year because my cat wasnt eating and was throwing up. The vet told me that it was likely a blockage and that he would need surgery today. I couldn’t afford thousands of dollars on a surgery (im a college student) my mom asked if there was any other way that my cat could get the surgery and the vet said i could surrender my cat, and they could do the surgery that night but I couldn’t adopt him after. I told them that I would need the go ahead from my boyfriend since he pays for the cat, he was the one paying for this appointment and I wouldn’t feel right surrendering the cat without his go ahead. He didn’t answer my calls so therefore I refused. it was friday and they would be closing till monday. they said my cat would likely die over the weekend. I asked if he survived the weekend and my boyfriend agreed could I bring him back on monday to surrender him and he could have the surgery. The vet said no and that I had to choose right now or nothing (which makes no sense to me, is surrender and surgery a friday exclusive deal?) She then shamed me and tried to convince me from leaving with my cat but I couldn’t morally make that decision when the person paying for the appointment would have no say in what happens to him. I wanted to get a second opinion, I got an appointment Monday at avalon animal hospital and to try to get my cat to survive the weekend I spoon fed him water and food in extremely small amounts all throughout the day and night because I believed that after vomiting so much for the first time ever in his life he may of been just too scared and nauseous to eat. His condition seemed to get better as I fed him, he made it to Monday where avalon animal hospital explained to me the “lifesaving surgery” that kenmount tried to force him into was actually a exploratory surgery and even in his current state (10x better than friday because I had been feeding him) that he would likely die if he got the surgery. they told me we could treat his symptoms instead and see if he improves (nausea, dehydration, lack of appetite). His condition improved immediately, he began eating on his own the same day, used his litter box and 5 months later is still completely normal and healthy and has no signs of a blockage he was just too nauseous to eat. no surgery needed. If i listened to kenmount animal hospital he would likely be dead.

Fantastic experience: I could cry writing this review. That's how amazing this place is! I moved to Newfoundland in January and my small dog wasn't feeling well for couple weeks so I contacted them as our regular vet wasn't available. I'm so happy I did. As soon as I walked in we felt welcome and at home. The staff were so kind to us and understanding. Dr. Tuff is by far the best doctor we have ever seen! She truly loves animals and my girl could tell. For the first time she wasn't nervous going to the vet. Needless to say this is our new permanent clinic. Thank you to all the wonderful staff who helped us today. True heroes! Not just for pets, but humans too! My girl is perfectly healthy and now my anxiety is down. You guys are amazing! UPDATE: Unfortunately, I had to move home to Ontario and have a new doctor. It's just not the same at all! Kenmount is so compassionate and kind and they don't gouge! They could have so many times but didn't. This clinic has heart and I'm honestly considering moving back to NL in the next year or so because of this clinic. My dog is my baby and this is the best care she's ever received. So, we'll be back in the future. We love and miss you guys. Love Jordan & Roxy

Negative experience: In my experience there, Dr. van Dyke, needs to find a new profession. I can't say I am extremely impressed with this veterinary service and I've been to a few in my day with my dog. I had a visit and we accomplished nothing. They were more concerned about the "dogs barking" at one point, she even gave him a weird look, wondering about "if they had to muzzle" him during the process than diagnosing him. He's never had to be muzzled, only when given a needle and even then, usually he tucks his head in my arms. A vet who says to me as I'm trying to determine what is wrong with my dog "I'm sorry I have other clients" after a 10 minute over $200 visit, is not someone I in who will invest time or energy. If you are moving to Newfoundland, i do NOT recommend her or this clinic. I left with my dog still sick with nothing, no medications, no intermittent treatments, almost as though, I was just expected to watch him suffer another night and possibly die. Two vets, two weeks later, my dog still has runny diarrhea. I went in was quoted $1000 for an x ray and comprehensive blood work. Maybe I'm just used to Vets in Ontario but asking me to spend $1000 for tests which then you will determine if I need to spend $1000 more after waiting for results seems like the most anti-animal thing ever. I would have brought him to emergency had I known this. I didn't find the vet extremely compassionate per say, or empathetic. It was just business to her. I found the rooms set up awkward with the chairs by the door so if you'r sitting with your dog, he can get to the door or literally is at the door when it is opened, almost asking for dogs to be aggressive as WE ALL KNOW HOW DOGS ARE WHEN DOORS ARE KNOCKED OR OPENED. Hospital demeanor quite cold. Honestly I don't know they were trying to help but I don't have faith with my animal there. I felt it was a money pit. Needless to say I didn't opt for blood tests, I simply couldn't afford it but I wasn't even asked to bring in a fecal sample or anything. My home vet, which we just really got, would run a test, bloodwork, ask for a fecal sample and then tell me what I wished to have done so he had everything there. I usually left with anti-parastiic medication or at least some treatment of soothing nature. I'm just so confused. TWO DAYS LATER SHE GOT BACK TO ME WITH RESULTS. Imagine diarrhea, sitting in a plastic bag for two days, before you sample it. Is that professional? I'm not sure. It is the saddest thing I've ever witnessed in my life. You can't be caring for an animal if you're concern is spewing off large amounts of money for tests. Then I was told because everything has increased such as rent, wages. Well my wages haven't increased. And why am I paying HST on medical services. We don't pay them as humans. So I am paying HST on a vet visit... for the vet to check his heart and tell me he seems okay. I know an x ray may be needed but my dog is lethargic, so nothing - no recommendation of fluids, nothing to get his nutrient intake in the meantime while he lays lethargic. NOTHING. I gave a stool sample and have yet to hear from them. This is precisely why it is key that people have vet visist with every vet to determine which one is right for them. Although they were willing to work with me.. i resolved nothing. My pet is still lethargic, still not eating and still on the verge of dying. How can you call yourself a vet if your main goal is not to keep an animal alive, but to watch it suffer and on the verge of dying. This is quite common in Newfoundland. It's disgusting and sad. I recommend everyone literally drive to PEI or find a private vet as these larger ones, seem to have dollar signs where their hearts should be. My perfectly healthy dog, may now die, because I don't have $1000 for an xray? And this is humane to everyone? Perhaps I'll have PETA look into it for me.comprehensive blood work test $300 plus HST Fecal test $78.00 Plus HST Visit $120 plus HST. (perhaps more affordable than most but nothing was done other than check his heartbeat so for $120 a heartbeat check??

Negative experience: Omgosh $1100.00 to get a 5 pound dog spaded this is the highest price in all the metro area of St. John’s AND no discount offered for a rescue AND no discount for seniors on very fixed income!!! HELPING control the pet population is everyone responsible especially a veterinarian clinic!!! Come on gals/guys offer some discounts HERE

Fantastic experience: Just want to take a second to make a post about the amazing care we received at Kenmount Road, Animal Hospital, in St. John’s. We own a pug, Moose and pugs are prone to breathing problems due to small nasal passage and elongated soft palate, unfortunately for our little moose he was no different. He required surgery to help him breathe better. Our own vet here, on the west coast of NL, were not comfortable doing the surgery so we drove eight hours to St. John’s, where we received the best service I have ever gotten from a veterinary Hospital. I cannot recommend Kenmount Road, Animal Hospital enough. They were amazing with Moose, kind, compassionate, patient. Just such great people to deal with. They took amazing care of moose. He had a flawless surgery. Not to mention affordable compared to other Vets with quotes up to extremely expensive prices! They were so patient with the aftercare. I think I emailed/called like 15 times in 4 days and every time I was greeted the same, with kindness and compassion. Moose has to have dental surgery in the up coming months and we would definitely make the journey across the island again. Thank you so much Kenmount Road Animal Hospital !

Negative experience: I had a dog that was under the care of this clinic. She had diabetes and it was under control. Unfortunately twice when we really needed these guys they weren't there for us. My dog developed a severe infection. I called kenmount only to be told they had no appointments available until the following week and couldn't offer a emergency appointment due to understaffing. We took her to cbs and got that resolved thankfully. Sadly my dog developed another serious issue. ONCE AGAIN I WAS IMFORMED THEY HAD NO APPOINTMENTS AVAILABLE INCLUDING NO EMERGENCY APPOINTMENTS. THEY BOOKED HER FOR A WEEK LATER. MY DOGS SITUATION WAS GRAVE. SADLY WE HAD TO EUTHANIZE DIGGER. I feel this clinic abandoned us twice when we really needed them. I will not ever return there. This place is focused on the dollar. They are quick to want to send you to the emergency clinic on topsail rd. That place is a total rip off. They charge outrageous fees for all services. Dramatically more than regular clinics. I had a few questionable experiences with this clinic before all this went down. Sadly my dog payed dearly for it. Do your self a favor and go elsewhere unless you have pet insurance!

Fantastic experience: Excellent experience recently. I accidentally purchased the wrong food for my pup recently. He has a very specific diet and there are 2 bags that look very similar. I accidentally purchased the wrong one (10kg worth). Special diet food is quite expensive, so I was relieved that the staff would refund the bag I had purchased even though I had opened it (unused, but opened). They were also great to deal with and understanding in the phone. Thank you KRAH!

Fantastic experience: We had a great experience here with getting my mom and sister‘s dog neutered. They were great with him, and left them at ease. When ready from recovery, they shower us the items needed for recovery and we’re very thorough with their instructions. Great staff and friendly front desk service.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic staff and clinic! My dog used to fear the vet previously, but he actually gets excited to go now! Dr. Andrews is absolutely wonderful and all the staff are incredibly caring and kind. 110% recommend this veterinary clinic!
