The Veterinarian was thorough in giving explanations and making recommendations. The dog was happy throughout the visit and did not react to receiving a vaccination. He loves going to Taunton Road Animal Hospital.

Fantastic experience: We had our 1st visit at this vet yesterday & I couldn't be more happy with the services provided. The vet was very gentle with my Bella, thoughtful in her approach and was very mindful of the cost of services, when explaining the suggested next steps. From the moment we walked onto the hospital, we felt welcomed and cared for. They provided excellent services and fair prices! Highly recommend and I am happy we found them!

Fantastic experience: Taunton Road Animal Hospital came as a referral by two families from our litter. We are so glad we found Taunton Road Animal Hospital. Dr. Michelle and team have been nothing but kind and caring to us and our little girl. After a very stressful experience at another Animal Hospital, with a very unhelpful surgeon and staff, that delayed our biopsy for months, it was such a relief to have found Dr. Michelle and team. We could feel the care even though we were just a walk-in asking for a biopsy. It is not an exaggeration when we say the clinic cares for their patients. From pre-op consultation to post-op, the team were great listeners and put the patient's health first. We expressed concerns about her liver condition and any medication that could stress the liver more. The team planned out the pre-op routine that included medication that was liver safe, which would help to reduce the quantity of anesthetic needed, along with specific anesthetic medications that was the least harmful to her liver. At discharge, the discharge nurse spent time talking to us and going through any post-op conditions/symptoms to look out for. We expressed our concern with any medication and the potential harm to her liver. She assured us that they took special care to recommend liver safe meds. Unknown to us, after we left, she discussed Nova's case with her team and called us back to let us know that given Nova's recovery progression, we could reduce one of her medications safely. This showed how compassionate and considerate the team is. Without insistence, they took the time to review a discharged case, and followed up unprompted. It did not end there. Dr. Michelle personally called to check up on Nova every day for the remainder of the week. Which was something our own vet did not even do. In fact it took a few phone calls and finally me directly questioning why our own doctor has not shown any interest in following up on the health of her own patient, whereas a doctor AND clinical team we met once, has reached out every day after the operation to check up on us and to address any questions/concerns. If you thought it ended there, Dr. Michelle continued to explore and look into our pup's condition/results, and has offered recommendations for next steps. Even while we were exploring those leads, she still had us in mind when she found out another board certified clinical nutritionist had just returned from mat leave and immediately reached our to her and us as another alternative! Since the operation, Dr. Michelle has has continued to check in on us (it's been 5 weeks since the operation). Although we were just a walk-in, the team has treated us with more care and concern than our own clinic that we've been a patient of for the past 4 years. We live almost an hour away, but have decided to continue with Taunton Road Animal Hospital. Thank you to the TRAH team!

Negative experience: Rude and impolite. Fees are high , phone attitude and possible new patients approach are low . Not recommended.

Fantastic experience: I can’t say it enough how much I love this animal hospital. I brought my black lab in today for a possible ear infection and Dr. Manali Kolekar was beyond amazing with me and Bageera. We both loved her right off the bat and gave us the best service. Geera is really sensitive with her ears right now and Dr Manali was so gentle and patient with her. We have had nothing but great experiences with all the techs/vets that have helped us over the past couple years. We had gone elsewhere before but just didn’t get the care there that we do here. I’m so grateful to have found this vet clinic and will continue with them further more! Thank you all for your hard work and dedication to care of our pets! Fantastic experience: My dogs are patients of this clinic since 2011 and receiving the best care. We get the best advice and information we need to make decisions. I am also able to get good quality dog food with discounts through the vet shop. My dog walks into the clinic without any hesitation and all the staff is amazing. Fantastic experience: I have been taking my cats to Taunton Road Animal Hospital for over 20 years. It is the best animal care clinic in Durham Region, and also better than the other clinics I have used in the other cities in which I have lived. They have taken care of my kittens, adults, and geriatric cats. The office is designed specifically as a veterinary clinic, and it is clean, spacious, well organized, and very functional. The veterinarians and staff are professional and friendly. They value their clients and do their best to ensure that decisions are made on the basis of relevant information and a range of choices. I highly recommend them.

Fantastic experience: #1 Best Vet Hospital in the Durham region. Really nice facilities, clean, lots of room, everything is new & modern newest. The Veterinarian, & technicians skills are always being updated. Idk where to start. Everyone there is fantastic, compassionate & helpful. You don't get rushed out, they do proper complete exams, listen to all ur concerns. Great at giving useful ideas & helpful things to try... That actually work! Always takes the time to give a little cuddle & praise when they come in the exam room it always puts my furbaby at ease and she gets a little snack on the way out lol. All the vets that work there are truly gifted. I've been with them for quite a few yrs now. They took Amazing care of my little senior dog Moxie through surgery, even called the following days to check up on her. She's turned 17 yrs old June/2025 and she's still going strong & healthy checkup a couple weeks ago!. They have very reasonable fees, they don't over charge you or do a bunch of stuff you don't really need. They also accept numerous pet insurance plans. All my claims went smoothly. This is the Best Animal Hospital in Durham region they know their stuff. I can't thank them enough for taking such amazing care of my lil Moxie. I'm beyond appreciative.

Fantastic experience: Second time here. It’s been great. This place is awesome. It wasn’t the same vet but this one was amazing as well. My dog was treated amazing. You don’t feel like they are there for the money. They arnt pushy. It’s a fair price. You can tell they love the animals. It’s quite wonderful. My dog has anxiety and sometimes aggression with other animals and they get the area all cleared to bring him in or bring you right into exam room through a side door. It’s amazing. I’ve sent my mom here with her new puppy and a coworker and they both loved it ! Great spot ! Do try

Fantastic experience: I LOVE Taunton Road Animal Hospital! I usually have Dr.Tracy as our Doctor, but any Doctor I’ve worked with is wonderful. They are patient, listen to concerns, kind, knowledgeable, gentle and caring. I wouldn’t take my pet anywhere else. Long ago when I had to put my pet down and my regular Doctor wasn’t available, my Doctor followed up the next day to console my family. So caring! All their staff are wonderful!

Fantastic experience: We were warmly greeted by an associate at the front desk. We could tell that the people who were in the waiting area were happy to be there. Dr. Manali was friendly and vibrant. She was confident and gentle as she proceeded to examine our dog and administer the vaccines he needed. Fantastic experience: With 3 dogs and 3 cats having a vet environment I trust implicitly is critical. There’s always “something” going on with one or the other animal. And, as a nurse, I have enough basic understanding of physiology that I always have multiple questions and concerns. Taunton road is comforting. The staff are experienced, they know me and my various animals and even if my primary vet (dr tracy) isn’t available and I need to see someone else I never worry. The vets are all excellent. They don’t recommend more interventions than what is required and the pricing is competitive. I always feel I’m in safe, competent hands.

We started off faithful to dr Newhouse who is incredible but since she took over ownership she saw less clients and we discovered Dr Tracy (Smith) who is an absolute angel on earth. She is open to suggestions and is very in tune with owners and also financial situations. Everyone at the clinic, Pat, Vicky all the front end staff and the techs are just wonderful people and so kind. Highly recommend this clinic as partners in your pet’s health.

My cats are so calm and comfortable during their visits because of the way that Dr. Tracy and the staff take care in their interactions to make it a good experience for them. (In fact, my cats enjoy it so much that they purr! This makes it difficult every time to check their breathing.) The people at the front desk are always super helpful and easy to interact with. Fantastic experience: Great clinic - desk staff, techs and vets are all friendly and caring. I've taken my senior dog there and my very fearful large-breed dog, and they've been wonderful. They respond quickly to fit in emergency visits. The clinic is set up to easily keep dogs separate/move around with space if dogs need it, and staff are quick to move me and my fearful dog into a room if the waiting area is getting too loud/overwhelming. She has improved so much at her comfort at the vet and it is definitely because of everyone at Taunton. They also have alternate entrances directly into rooms if your dog can't handle the reception area at all as well. They've got online and phone bookings, and make sure you know pricing and options when you're dealing with big things. They're good at explaining issues and treatments in ways i can understand, and always handle my dogs with care.

Fantastic experience: I had such an amazing first experience at Taunton Animal Hospital! The entire team was incredibly welcoming, informative, and kind. I left feeling completely comfortable and confident in their care for my little kitten. Every question I had was thoroughly addressed, and they took the time to ensure I left with no concerns unanswered. On the way to our first visit, my kitten managed to rip her carrier open and escape into my lap. When I explained what had happened upon arrival, the vet kindly offered to lend me a carrier to safely take her home. This thoughtful gesture went above and beyond my expectations, and I truly appreciated their kindness. Thank you so much for such a wonderful experience!

The staff there are so kind and gentle and Dr. Barb has such a soothing demeanor that after the meezers get home it’s like they have never been! Personally we enjoy visiting the clinic as it is so friendly there! Very thorough and professional and Dr. Barb takes the time to see your pet and explain everything to you. We have been going there for 10 years and our meezers love it! We also get our food there which is very handy!

Fantastic experience: What an amazing pet hospital. The staff were very caring and accommodating. We got referred to this clinic from family and friends and there is no regret. Pricing was very competitive but regardless its money well spent. The hospital was very clean and well kept, you would never know you were in a pet hospital. I got my adopted furr baby neutered and he is doing very well. He had no complaints. Lol. Surely i was not surprised when he came home and completely disobeyed the doctors orders to get some RnR. This to me is a good sign that he was in great hands and not mistreated in any manner. I have found my pet hospital, I will not be switching and i will surely be recommending this hospital to any and everyone.

Fantastic experience: Taunton Road Animal Hospital staff have looked after my pets for decades now, going back to the prior location on Taunton just east of Harmony. Dr Tracy and Dr Barb have a solid talent for connecting with the my dogs and winning their affection and confidence. We have been through healthcare issues ranging from surgery/pain management due to musculoskeletal disorders through routine healthcare vaccines and addressing allergic reactions to pollen and plants. I would not hesitate to recommend them for your pet needs.

Fantastic experience: I can't say enough good things about my experience at this vet office. Ive been coming here for years and they never make you wait long to be seen, and they never rush you out the door either. The staff are incredibly genuine, and you can tell they truly care about your pets. Dr. Laura and Dr. Barb, who take care of my cat, are both wonderful. They’re thorough and always go above and beyond to provide the best medical care. If they don't know something, they take the time to find the answer. It's clear that my pet's well-being is their top priority. Highly recommended!

Fantastic experience: Having moved to Oshawa last Fall, I am still searching out places that are needed by my family and our pet. The taunton road animal hospital was recommended to us by a staff person at Pet Value. ( I’ve been asking locals for all kinds of things). She was right! I found this animal hospital very clean, and the staff friendly and knowledgeable. Our dog was initially anxious but the staff worked with that beautifully. Finally, the processes put in place for an easy experience (reception, scheduling and payments) all run quite smoothly.

Fantastic experience: Everyone at this facility made my puppy feel calm and loved. Dr. Michelle is extremely knowledgeable and took the time to outline the pros and cons of each procedure. I was originally just taking the dog there to be spayed but have now decided to take our dog there as her regular vet. It takes us an hour to get to this facility but it is more than worth the drive!

Negative experience: I called a few weeks ago regarding my cat looking to get an idea of the cost and process needed for a matting issue. This office called me back within a timely manner, however, I feel as though this discussion could have gone better. I was just met with prices for each thing they require from me in order to bring my cat in and then we would get to the matting issue. I asked if they could send me an email with the break down of how much everything was going to cost and I was told they could get it to me by next week… I am going off of memory but it was between $600 to $800 approx. I ended up receiving a call back from my previous vet clinic (a different clinic) shortly after and they actually gave me options to not have to sedate my cat to shave the matting off. So I was booked in there, did the exam, did the rabies shot, and they rebooked her in for the shaving the following week. They quoted me around $130 here to shave her…. At the vet clinic I went to it was only $30, they didn’t need to sedate her, and the total cost of everything they did for my cat was under $200, it was quick, painless and did not cause any unnecessary damage or trauma to my cat. I was never given any options over the phone, and to this day I never received an email back with the cost break down that I originally requested the day they called me. If you’re going to be handling my pet I would expect some kindness and sympathy and reassurance instead of bluntness and the lack of care. Very disappointed. To those looking for a vet in the area, I recommend shopping around for a vet that will go over options and make sure that you are educated and feel secure in your decision to trust them with your pet.

Fantastic experience: Dr.Barb and her technicians are amazing,we have 2 fur babies, one is still quite feral ‍⬛️ The team at Taunton can handle any situation we are so confident that our girls are in the best hands.
